Everyone knows the Joker went ballistic after the tragic death of his fiancé Melisa Wayne. He was known to be insane before, but now he is unstable to say the least. He maintained appearance and a specific level of style, that came with his class. The suits, the jewelry, the hair. The purple Lamborghini, all custom made, paid with the blood money he made.

No one knows how he met Melisa. Some said he kidnapped her, some said she was tired of being raised in the glass castle with golden chains. She was never harmed and was often seen shopping with Oswald and Ed. Even baby clothes trips for Two Face's youngest adoptee Janus. Even Dr. Crane was seen with her on one of the fancy underground parties...

Then one night, one simple, chill late spring night all changed. The city woke up with the screams of the dying and blood was raining on the streets. Melisa was dead. And he went after everyone. Some suspected gang war, but T monster's last will, read 2 days after the Blood Morning, swore he was innocent and pleaded his people to leave Gotham for good.

Penguin and Riddler was missing. Probably ran away the same night, since they were the closest with Ms. Wayne.

Freeze was found half melted on the street with the scalp of his wife stitched to his hand...

Two Faced survived the longest - 3 days. Ended up setting his house on fire and burning in it with his wife and 4 children. People suspect he drugged them to bring them calm and burned them all to spar their corpses of the wreckage.

Nightwing and Batgirl were hanged and gutted in the backyard of the Wayne mansion... right on the sunset of the 4th day, when Mr. J announced to all Bryce was Batman.

Some suspected The Bat killed his own daughter after he found out she was pregnant with the Joker's kid.

The butler, Alfred was also missing.

There was a firm graffiti from Red Hood. There he confesses that he was Jason Todd, former Robin, who gave up on Batman after he was not too much pleasant than the Joker who almost beat him to death, right before he took off his mask and recognized his old time friend. He said that The Joker is beyond reason, that all citizens must evacuate, people must leave Gotham, and leave him be for his remaining time on Earth. It said he is leaving and will help the evacuation.

5th day was the quiet before the storm. The city was full of police and military. No one listened to Jason. Most ended up chewed to death by Killer Croc, who was Mr. J's personal pet on drugs. He experimented with the poor being to the moment where it  answered only to him with little to no care of it's own life.  Oswald and Edward came back, offering themselves to save the people.

Some people suspected they were responsible for Melisa's death, but if they were the Clown would not accept their offer.

Om the 6th day at noon most people were evacuated, some chose to stay, Jason went back to be with his friend, although some people plead him to leave. He responded with "he has no one, and he was there for me when i had no one". That was the last time someone saw or heard of him.

Dr. Crane was there too... too drugged by his menace gas to be adequate enough, he helped the joker make a zombie like army to scout around the city looking for alive people...

The cruel, but rather beautiful paled man with vivid green hair, silver teeth and always sharp purple outfits... looked more like a homeless drug addict now... dark messy hair, skinny, limping... he put so much make up on his face he looked grotesque...

Two weeks after Day one, as people called Blood Morning. Gotham got a radio signal. Single message from and unknown voice, saying "it is over" then muffed crying and radio silence.

When the police came back thy found literal wreckage of the city, took them almost all day to find the source. The message came from under the Wayne manner... in the tunnels... single big cave... untouched. An old man was sitting on the ground, crying. The police identify him as Alfred Pennyworth, Wayne Family butler. And later reviled as Batman's assistant. He was inconsolable. He kept on rambling and had to be sedated. The cave was untouched, so was the house.

People suspected it was because this was where she lived. One more week of cleaning and assessing the damage. The new mayor spoke with the poor old man.

People say that the young man came out of this room 10 years older... People suspect that whatever the old man had said must have been horrible... Alfred never spoke again and in 3 days passed away peacefully in his sleep. He was named hero. All consider the poor man who fathered orphan billionaire child was the one who killed the Joker. Since Melisa was too attached to the old man for the Mad Clown to kill him.

No one knew that after their conversation the mayor wrote everything down in an attempt to get it of his head... only he knew his wife accidentally saw it and could not take it and drown herself...

No one knew, he burned the note and was the one who cut the ribbon of "Pennyworth" memorial, appointing the everyday people who do good as the real heroes. People say, Gotham is safer now, the safest city even.

No one knows that it was the mayor who paid a gang to set the Wayne manor on fire, burn all evidence. No one knew one of the kids found Alfred's voice recorder on what happened...

She... Mel came back late again... Bruce was not at home... i spoke to her, she seemed agitated. We had just... *coughs* received an anonymous note on who her secret boyfriend is... Joseph... son of Jack Napier... the original Gangster named Joker. This one... he was born bleached skin... *laughs* I... i could not believe it.. i yelled at her, could see the pain in her eyes, i never yell at her... i would never… *cries* we argued... we were at the stairs... oh God... my baby... j am so sorry… *cries again, coughs* i got her hand, was trying to get her in her room, her dad was about to some shortly. We were gonna sit and talk... but she was no 14 years old girl anymore... i... i pulled her too much, she pushed away she... *laughs* she fell... *cries and laughs* she fell down the stairs... my baby... *cries*

It happened on … on last day of April…. She …. *cries* I barely listened to her … I never do these days … I am so consumed by the DAMN BAT’S VENGANCE *yells* I barely pay attention to my other child …. *cries* I raised her, she is …. She is my baby *cries* I … *recorder drops on the floor* *recorder is picked up* I didn’t listen … she said she love him, I asked how could she, after all his dad did to hers… kidnapping young Ms. Vale and forcing her to birth him a son … she protested, said Vicki ran away from Bruce… and was in love with the old gangster … this girl *coughs* she kept on speaking … I was so mad … I grabbed her hand … *muffed sounds* I … *cries* she fell … *coughs* I … might have pushed her … it was an accident I swear … I … *coughs* God spare this world … *cries*. He … he came the next morning, it was too early … no … Bruce came back in several hours, found me holding her already cold hand … I just nod my head … I could not say it … what I did *coughs* … *cries* they are both my children … *coughs* The Clown came in several hours … Walked through the door. Yelled “papa I am home” and laughed …. She must have told him… although Bruce suspected he knew way before that and that’s why he seduced Melisa … he was asking for her … he saw us … looked … that DAMN BASTARD LOOKED LIKE HE IS *yells and coughs* looked like he was at his own place … then he said, he was here for the breakfast … Bruce had no idea what he was talking about … she might have said something about it … I did not listened *cries* the Clown explained Mel wanted to gather us all to meet and to have an official meal together…. he even took his jacket off to show he had no guns *cries* he had come in the house of his greatest nemesis unarmed, out of the love for my granddaughter the one I … *cries* Bruce said she was indisposed, the clown said “yah I know, it has been  while” then I knew … *several seconds of silence* and right after me … he knew as well. He spared no time in talking, hit Bruce with the vase and kicked me in the guts.

We woke up in a cell in the cave the same night. He came back … was even paler, his face looked like his nerves had been frozen in some weird sad mad grin… he had locked us and went on a killing spree, starting with the nearest houses, the streets were in literal … *cries* he gutted monster T strangled him with his … *coughs* insides, since he always smiled at her …. *voice shaking* he brought a radio, and emergency line was ongoing telling every detail, he said he gave them their life back, but they must tell everything every little detail. He was completely mad … I had no idea he was sane before … everyone thought he was … *cries* the 2nd day he tortured one of his best friends and his wife, he could not stand them happy … he killed her, made him watch … then sewed her face on his … the news said it different, but I know what I saw, he showed us the pictures he made *cries* every time he killed a person he cut a piece of Bruce … cooked him and ate him … in front of us … he was inconsolable … was looking for the Riddler and the Penguin… Two Faced killed his family and burned them, to spare them the pain … he knew the monster would come for his children … on the 4th day we awoke with the hanging  Richard and Barbara … he had written “Bruce Wayne is batman, and non of them can keep his kids alive” *cries* he cooked Bruce’s leg that night … with mushroom sauce… *cries*

Jason came at some point, tried to reason with him, they talked, screamed, Jason gave up and left … *coughs* was allowed to leave. I don’t know in which life hey were friends … *cries* I don’t know how it all went down …

On the 5th day Os and Edd came in the cave … they offered their lives … were brutally …. Were killed I wanted to look away, but he made me … they looked each other, smiled even … *cries*  the tenderness and love in their eyes … *coughs and cries* he had the same expression hen he came to look for Melisa that morning *silence* …  they saved the city, because of them almost all manages to escape … *coughs* whoever stayed was a pray for Killer Croc, he was drugged with something, poor creature *laughs* I wished him death for so long, but when I saw what the Clown did … dr. Crane was there too, Joker tortured him into madness, he made him kill his clone … his own son and laughed about it laughed while repeating how much Melisa liked the little boy … Bruce … Oh Bruce *cries* he was dead … I don’t know when it happened *laughs* the bastard kept on eating him …

*coughs* he was changed … he ate … we ate the last of Bruce and the last night, 6 days after it all started he confessed he made a deal with a demon out of this world … right after he knocked us out … he asked for the strength to kill everyone involved in her death … the demon said the price is great *laughs* the Bastard just shrugged, his wish got granted, the price … the price… *laughs then cries* he was rotting alive … he had no need of me to live, could kill me … but no *laughs* had to make everyone suffer and barely hurt me. The next morning he untied me… he wore so much make up and his hair was almost all fallen of … he smiled, his teeth were all gone, he then started screaming and his cheek fell off … *cries* I begged him to kill me … then he said “no”, he just sat next to me, said nothing, we stood like that, for 5 min or 5h I don’t know, a black smoke came ... I shat my pants, he just laughed … then this wild disconnected from the world man, got up, fixed his suit and said “ I am ready “ and walked into the black mist. Before he disappeared at full, he told me the radio is working and I can let everyone know it was over … I stayed there for a long time, hoping to die … but I did not, my greatest pain was that all suffered because of me … *laughs* it all went down *cries* because I refused to listen to… *cries* then I called the radio… I got saved from the slaughter … and so many more died *cries* please … whoever finds me, just save me from the misery … end my life … I am recording this, since I don’t know how long I will be consciousness or alive … but I … *cries, laughs and cries again* I am so sorry my dear … I am … *cries* *recording disconnects*       >

Abdullah Ameen resides in the Nuseirat camp with his wife and two extremely young children; the older being only one, the youngest being a newborn. The ongoing genocide makes it far too dangerous and difficult for Abdullah and his wife to raise their children securely and safely. He has also recently amended his campaign in order to evacuate his mother, who is injured with a pelvic fracture, and sisters.

His campaign began in April, yet it has received only a fraction of its goal of €35,000 throughout the past five months. His family must be evacuated urgently, especially since he is with a newborn child and his injured mother, who is unable to visit a doctor.

I've been thinking about how to articulate a thought I had about a possible Doylist/non-diegetic reading(EDIT: I originally wrote "Watsonian" here, which is the opposite of what I meant X| X| Brain, you Tricksome Jester *shakes entirely metaphorical fist*) of Eridan's Trollian handle, caligulasAquarium, in response to a post of @mmmmalo's, and I think I've got it.

Ok So: the popular perception of Caligula is as a "Mad Emperor". One of the points used in this depiction is his "War on the Sea", which is taken as obvsl absurd and empty and irrational(and possibly hubristic). Eridan chooses to call himself "caligulasAquarium" and he lives in a wrecked ship(a feature commonly put in aquariums)... on the surface.

So like: maybe the title is meant to be taken by the audience as ironic. Eridan's claim to an "Aquarium" is as absurd and empty and irrational as Caligula's claim to have warred upon the sea(in the common understanding of those events; as a matter of history this seems to be a Telephone distortion, from the sources I can find).

A few more points that have occurred to me since I started writing this:

Caligula "Made War on the Sea"; Eridan wants to "Make War on the Surface" by Killing All Landwellers, carrying forward the themes of inversion btwn Alternia and Earth.

Also: "Kill All Landwellers", "Kill All Humans": he's lampshading common evil-alien-overlord tropes

...Which in itself is sort of dunking on HIM, since Eridan is nobody's overlord he's just some GUY. Like: Yes, he's "Nobility" due to blood-caste, but he has no influence, no power, no RESPECT from anyone we meet, no friendships let alone alliances with other socially powerful individuals(other than Feferi, who seems to have foresworn all that to monastically care for G'lybgolyb) that he could USE to have influence; he's just a loner with his grand-dad's gun and allot of pretension.

...which you could argue furthers his parody of USian internet white-supremacists? Like: He is THEM: a gun-humping loner who only feels comfortable talking to the people he claims to hate, with no idea how unpleasant he makes himself to interact with, and even less interest in introspection or self-awareness, fetishizing past genocides as a way to claim for himself a "Glorious Past" he had nothing to do with.

As Feferi(and possibly other characters I'm forgetting) point out, Eridan's ambition to Kill All Landwellers is more than a little absurd. He's never really DONE anything to plan or prepare for it, and aside from Fef he exclusively hangs out with and befriends Landwellers, as well as LIVING ON LAND(well: a sandbar or reef). This could be taken as furthering the Caligula "War on the Sea" parallel.

Expanding on the last: Caligula, THE EMPEROR OF ROME and Grandest of Nepo-babies, was rather notably disdainful of and hostile towards the Roman nobility and inherited wealth/rank. This connects to Eridan in two ways I can think of: 1) his avoidance of other seadwellers, and 2) his philosophical hostility to landdwellers while Being, in practice, A Landweller. Basically: both Hate things about themselves shared by others.

Reinforcing #3: the choice of Caligula, a Troll-Emperor. Again: Eridan is Just Some Guy; he does not command armies, he does not command society, he can't even command Equius, who GETS OFF ON being ordered around. This is Pretension.

...which, I guess, you could connect AGAIN back to Caligula via the popular memory of him wanting to be treated "As A God", but it should be noted that 1)everyone who wrote anything about him hated the guy and was explicitly dunking on him, so we don't know how accurate these charges are, and 2)in the Roman context, while legal apotheosis was reserved for after death, imperial Divinity was already de facto given that sacrifices and prayers to the Emperor's health and success were legally mandated civic religious duties, AND 3)that classical Greeks and Romans, contra the Abrahimic societies which would later create this popular memory, considered apotheosis a real possibility for notable individuals.

What killing me is the people basically making it seem like Eurovision bad...for just this year. Eurovision needed to become irrelevant for MULTIPLE reasons for many years. Alright kids some Sokka analysis!

We all know that ATLA is an amazing show, with brilliant character development, a respect for heavy topics, good plot design and overal enjoyable episodes.

But what is very interesting is the way that both Sokka and Suki are portrayed.

Sokka is a non-bender of the southern water tribe. His sister is a bending prodigy, his best friend is the Avatar, Toph is the best earthbender alive and Zuko is the son of the Fire Lord.

Yet we never ever feel like Sokka doesn't add anything.

In the episode where he learns swordplay, the other characters are bored to death without him He is the tactician, the planner, the jester, the leader of the group in a way, the heart.

And yet he is still a child. He's allowed to be funny, silly, and stupid even while displaying qualities that the others don't have.

And the best example I can think of is when the final fight against Ozai happens.

Sure, Katara and Zuko take down the best firebender of their generation, Aang takes down the Phoenix King ( the most powerful firebender on the planet ) and Toph metalbends whole ships into oblivion.

But it is Sokka's plan that prevents a genocide, prevents devastation. It is Sokka that takes down all the enemy ships, Sokka that plans the attack.

Moreover, he takes down two firebenders amped up by the comet with one hand, lying on his back, while holding Toph up with the other.

The scene shows us brilliantly why Sokka is their leader: both Suki and Toph are utilized to the best of their abilities. And both are allowed to save the day.

He's also the planner of the eclipse attack and the prison escape, although these have varying degrees of success. Once he starts coming into his own as a full member of the team, when he starts to have faith in his own capabilities, there is no one quite like him.

And Suki, a nonbender like him, is treated in the same way. Strong, quickwitted, capable. Saves Toph from drowing in the Serpent Pass, member of the Kyoshi warriors. Able to go toe to toe with Ty Lee, who's been shown to immobilize powerful benders like Azula.

In the final fight, they are seperated, but never once is Suki treated as a damsel in distress. Indeed, she is the one saving Sokka and Toph by commandeering a war balloon.

All in all we love Sokka and Suki in this house

Ahed and Samah are two women whose lives have been torn apart because of the ongoing genocide in Palestine. Ahed ( @ahedalshaer ) is in university for dentistry, and Samah is supposed to be in her final year of high school.

Their campaign began in May, but has raised only around one twenty-fifth of their goal - €3,314 of €80,000. This is extremely worrying, as their father is diabetic, and their mother suffers from a chest infection. Both require urgent medical attention, which they are currently unable to receive due to the poor conditions in Gaza.

By August 20th, it is our aim to boost their campaign to 10,000 euros. That is still only one eighth of the 80,000 euros they require, but it is a start.

re: your post about xerxes' innocence and optimism being seen as flaws or almost made into a joke. i think both the outside knowledge that asmodeus is a lying opportunist the internet's borderline hero worship of brennan also adds to this; they believe xerxes is meant to be /punished/ for being stupid and selfish enough to trust a devil.

i think you've hit the target pretty well, anon.

i do want to clarify i dont think zerxus is "innocent" in nature about the gods. he knew who asmodeus was; he read about him often, feeling kinship. but i think that speaks to how fundamentally empathetic zerxus is that he turned his anguish over being lonely, isolated from his son, his husband, even his own party, and turned that to feeling almost.... kindness. and it came pouring out, all these feelings of projection and wishing to care for someone again, onto asmodeus. i deeply sympathize on that front; he wants to believe that anyone can be saved because he doesnt know how to fix himself and the broken pieces of his life. is that arrogance, to seek some shred of kindness to prove that it exists?

what bothers me is labeling zerxus arrogant (and all the other traits people detest him for) came from asmodeus's mouth. at the time, the fanbase would not trust a word he said - not his canon past with divine family, not his anguish over losing that family, nothing that zerxus saw and empathized with - but they did all think asmodeus wasnt lying when he said zerxus was arrogant. when what is significant about asmo calling him that is hes projecting as much as zerx is. and the thing is, in canon we know zerxus's belief isn't fruitless (and i think asmodeus knows it deep down too). we know the gods struggle with emotion as much as mortals do (see literally the same scene, zerxus saying asmo hates so purely because he hates himself and asmo biting his lip in fury knowing he cant respond back without proving him right), and can even be swayed to listen (asmodeus is having to help the other gods and mortals right now). we know folk like jester who saw kindness where there genuinely wasnt and still managed to help others find it anyway. it was simply the wrong place at the wrong time. it was the age of arcanum. it was cruel. and zerxus's flaws, while fascinating and many, were not hubris or arrogance. id say his fatal move was being blinded by love that was marred by projection, and he could not see (between his low intelligence score and his desperation) how his love specifically was so important to be weaponized.

as for the brennan point, i do enjoy his dm'ing, but any time he dms for cr you can feel people act like hes here to.... punish? straighten out the kinks? especially right now. somehow fans expect a man they obsess over being a leftist to justify aeorian genocide, "fix" matt & aabria's very long standing interpretations of gods as complex individuals who canonically colonized exandria in such a way that even mortals call it out. i think a large part of that is why they interpreted zerx as "arrogant terrible man righteously suffers under his choices". but.... even brennan gave zerx a chance because he chose to unwaveringly redeem. even he said that his love & hope was not wrong. luis likes & replies kindly to posts on twitter about people who relate to zerxus for being manipulated & abused for choosing to love. matt has said asmodeus is so aware of how fundamentally good zerxus is that he wont let him leave his side. you may choose to read brennan's interpretation of the devil as a christian one punishing sinners, but cr wouldnt be cr if every story did not come down to unending hope & empathy & belief in others even if it took a thousand years for it to come to fruition. and brennan is part of the enduring of that idea.

Yevmen Pshechenko (Євмен Пшеченко, 1880-1933) was born in the village of Verbivka, Cherkasy region. We don't know much, but he probably started to paint when he helped his wife create embroidery sketches.

According to some sources, he and his brother Pavlo took part in the revolutionary movement, spent five years in prison for possessing prohibited literature, and was released on the eve of the First World War when he was seriously ill.

Yevmen Pshechenko's works were exhibited at the Exhibition of modern decorative art. Embroideries and carpets based on artists' sketches" in the Lemercier gallery in 1915 in Moscow.
