“Pardon?” Her face became laiden with confusion at the female’s words. She was busied by the dish she was cooking all day that she hadn’t had the time to even check herself in front of a mirror at least once. The result of her day’s labor was a face which spoke catastrophe: hair sticking to her forehead due to sweat despite the cold winter weather accompanied by some flakes of spices and grease decorating her cheek that would sure look unflattering had someone from the media caught who seemed to be Korea’s current favorite girl at the moment. They would go nuts at how Bae Joohyun had capabilities of looking absolutely chaotic. “I-Is there something wrong with my face?” She tried to hide it, though the small chuckle leaving her lips seemed as if the remark had offended her just a slight.

“will you just open it? it’s not gonna bite--i think,” he mutters with a fake tinge of annoyance to his voice and a roll of eyes that seem even smaller than usual. (he hasn’t been getting too much sleep these days, this being rather apparent in the way all his movements were sluggish and motivation at an all-time low.) “on the other hand, i might if you don’t stop cooing at me getting you a gift at all. i get my dental checks frequently, could probably bite off your ear if i tried, noona.” he adds with a little sneer, because he just never calls her that way, always repeating (and whining, really) that being barely 8 days older isn’t enough for the n-word.

the gift, wrapped carefully in thin, rustling paper of red and gold and then placed in a simple black box with a bow on top, isn’t anything much at all. just some mix of warm wool and soft cashmere, weaved together in a slightly upgraded version of a cheesy ugly christmas sweater. it’s dark green, with specks of gold flickering here and there, and about every christmas symbol sewn on the front in a messy mass of comic-style badges. yoongi has never been all about that christmas spirit and fussing over gifting people around with proper presents, but once he saw it, it faultlessly reminded him of gemma. a classic piece that’s either loved or hated -- but classic with a twist: a little chaotic, a tiny bit defiant, and definitely flashy. 

yoongi remembers laughing to himself back in the store he found it, all the way back in LA a few weeks ago, cackling loud enough in a manner so korean that he got weird stares from the shop assistants. he really wants gem to have as much fun with it as he did with just the idea.

Ridiculous as it was, eating without any doubts had always been one of he most blissful things to her. Working so much this year, it hadn't only been rest that she had been deprived of, but also food, and even the celebrations for SNSD's tenth anniversary hadn't been enough to catch up on that. Hence, this consume of albeit mostly unhealthy food with a friend who shared this opinîon lifted Yoona's spirit more than anything. ´

Their love for food wasn't the only thing that united her and Gemma. Both were parts of big girl groups and had been in this business for quite some time, so meetings always proved to be pleasant. The actress knew that she could speak her mind without worrying much, so she valued the company that was often denied due to busy schedules for them both.

"I swear, right here, if you ever ask me to repeat this feast of food and I deny, you are officially allowed to call me insane." She stated after swallowing the last bits of food in her mouth, not forgetting to wipe her lips with her tongue in order to clean up remaints. "This is why I need you, you know what's right for me."

        How to kill the time while waiting for someone? By simply scrolling down the internet on her phone and open at least ten articles to read ( or more if Gemma was taking longer than already was ). She couldn't blame the other from making her wait; it was a surprise visit, something she was good at doing instead of calling and warning before appearing behind somebody's door. One hand resting up against her cheek, her free hand’s index finger moved the phone's screen down to spot any articles and BAM, there was one of the group which the other was part of. Curiosity hitting her, she opened the article after reading the title of it and upon finishing it, there was a small smile playing on her lips.

❝Unnie, what a college girl needs to do to get on stage with you on your charity concert?!❞ Her voice was loud enough for the other one to hear, the voice showing playfulness. Woohee wasn't a huge fan of going on stage. A stage-fright. It was scary enough to dance in front of a class when there were more than ten people. Has she been on stage before? Yes. More than five times. No. Even more than that.

FaceTiming in the middle of the night seemed to be a great idea. Especially after waking up from a stupid nightmare; her eyes immediately wide open and staring at the roof for a few seconds before starting to roll on her bed. Did she try to fall asleep again? No. She knew once she woke up, she wouldn’t fall asleep anytime soon and she needed entertainment. And there she was, waiting for the other to pick up the call and while waiting for her face to appear on the screen, she made different disgusting ( or cute ) faces for the camera.   

        ❛And she fiiinally answers!❜ Her voice was obnoxiously loud when Gem’s facial features finally appear on the screen, making her face smaller and change the position to the right top corner. ❛I had a nightmare and now I can’t sleep.❜

Pulling her mouth into an grimace, she was unable to decipher what was on that recipe written, now not that she possessed some amazing skills in this field. Yet, there she was, pacing around the kitchen, fidgeting nervously with the book, due of the insane ambition she literary harboured inwardly of surprising Gemma, with some fresh food. Even started to recite it as if was some sort of poem, as other thoughts flooded her mind, more likely seeking to find an excuse to just stick on ordering something else, which of course the latter would fancy.

normally youngja wouldn’t have backed down. just moments before she paused and was almost in a trance, she was ready, she was always ready to speak her mind. but with this female, who was only a year older than her but the same height, made youngja feel smaller. she wasn’t sure if it was the strong demeanor and look the female gave off, but it really bothered youngja to the point that she even forgot what else she was saying. “and, and…” her eyes pulled away from the females, something she rarely did ever when in a confrontation but today was somehow different. “nothing, let’s just forget i even said anything.” her voice was low but loud enough for the female to hear her.
