-Slams DPxDC door open and tosses AU idea on table-

Tim's parents send home an artifact that is said to able to grant wishes! While being curious about it Tim messes with the artifact and when he 'solves' it, according to legend one must solve it to get a wish, he wishes he wasn't alone anymore.

The object glows bright and as he shields his eyes he can hear.

'So you have wished it, so it shall be!'

He gets his wish in the form of a recently reincarnated ghost!King (who entered the DC world for a reincarnated vaycay... he should had known something was going to happen because CW was encouraging the break) Danny whose just a baby/toddler right now.

Basically, big brother Tim and baby Danny adventures in Gotham after that.

I've been playing w the idea that the more Danny transforms, the more his ghost form gets "lively" while his human form gets weaker and more sickly. He knows that if he keeps transforming like this then, one day, he's not going to have a livable body to go back to, but he really doesn't want to think about all that. He's more interested in the weird "totally dead but not dead" Wayne son who may or may not have a thing for his sister.

everytime i do one these im like "this time I'll keep it simple so I don't have to suffer through colouring bc I have zero foresight—it'll be greyscale at most" and then all of the sudden its 4am and i'm trying to finish a stupid comic but i decided to add "some" colour to spice it up and hide my shitty ink job and then SOME COLOUR ALWAYS BECOMES FULL COLOUR WHY CAN I NOT ESCAPE THIS STUPID CYCLE!!

(did this all stem from me not being able to decide between a super pale character design and one w a vibrant tan bc I love white hair + tan but I also love extremely pale albino so I forced myself to find a way to make both work? never! that's absurd!)

i love that andy weir never kills his protagonists. it would be so easy to. at so many points. by all means they Should be dead. mark gets stranded on mars and the planet works against him at every turn. jazz's suit fails on the surface of the moon and she feels herself begin to die. ryland is sent on a suicide mission then gives up his chance at return for his friend. they should all have died. multiple times in some cases. but they don't!!! because weir isn't writing tragedies, he's writing stories of hope and humanity. they survive even when it should be impossible for them to because of connection. simple as that.

I LOVE SPIRIT one of my favorite links (my absolute favorite is wind but spirit is still up there)

My take on Spirit... Details below!

So, This is kind of how I see his character generally but it also talks about LU stuff!

Anyways, my take on Link's character can be split into two halves:

The shy, reserved Engineer and the enthusiastic, somewhat unhinged Warrior.

The Warrior half of his character was kind of dormant until Spirit Tracks. Working with Zelda, fighting both on and off the tracks... It awakened something within the boy. He always liked adventure... but now he realizes how much he enjoys the thrills of battle.

This leaves Link deeply conflicted. He loves trains and engineering, is a literal prodigy in his field even! He's been working most of his short life to become a Royal Engineer. He loves the tracks, the smell of burning coal... but he also loves the clash of steel, the way his sword slashes through his foes. He loves being able to protect his loved ones. He loves helping others through his engineering.

Needless to say, the poor kid is being pulled in two different directions and loves both options in equal measure.

This internal conflict comes to a head when Zelda asks him what he wants to do. He can only choose one option and has to abandon the other.

This is why his third option is "Dunno". Because his internal conflict has left him confused and questioning what he actually wants to do in life. Does he pursue being a Warrior, but abandon what he's been pursuing for as long as he can remember? Or does he stick to being an Engineer, yet abandon the newfound fighter he's become?

In my planned stories, he chooses Engineer. However, his curiosity will make his mind wander to "what if" quite often. However, he'd do this even if he chose Warrior... Grass is always greener on the other side and all.

If he was part of the chain in LU, I think he'd shine as the groups Logistics Planner. Don't get me wrong, he'd be VERY good at battle strategy, but I think he'd be afraid of stepping on Warriors' shoes there. So I think Spirit would choose to focus on their Logistics.

Resources are essential. He'd shine as one of their best supports in the group for this reason. He keeps everything organized and supplied. He stays on top of every little thing.

However, that is not without its flaws. I think he'd be both an expert multitasker and... a massive micromanager lol. This would cause issues with the more independent members of the chain.

Thing is, Spirit's surface personality is very reserved and shy compared to the other Links' forceful personalities. He'd need an equivalent to his Zelda to help stand up for him and convey his points. "Excuse me, he asked for pickles" etc etc

Now, I do think he can be a little shit however. He's still a Link! But he's more polite and his surface personality is rather reserved. So he can get away with a lot more then, say, Wind lol. He's also a people pleaser, especially to those he desires to impress... like Phantom. She does well to bring out his gremlin tendencies (like saying he can totally swim when he CANT. Spirit what are you doinggggg)

I do see him as the type who wants acknowledgement for his accomplishments too. Not in a bragging way, but simply to acknowledge his hard work. Like Wind, he wouldn't react well to being coddled by the Chain for this reason.

Fighting with the group *definitely* brings out his enthusiastic Warrior side. He'd more then enjoy getting the chance to fight and battle again! The others are quite surprised about his sheer... enthusiasm for it, at first. He seemed so... shy. It's honestly kind of scary...

...Spirit also wishes his Zelda was by his side again... He'd miss her so, so very much. He doesn't feel like a complete hero without her.

Both Hyrule and Spirit would share the issue of feeling...lacking compared to the other heroes, but I feel Spirit would have it the worst of the two. He'd push himself very hard to prove his usefulness to the group, which only makes the issues I discussed previously even worse.

Spirit, likely in an attempt to be useful, overworks himself. He works hard to try and be a complete hero, when he currently feels like only half of one.

TLDR: Like his own Zelda, Spirit has two distinct personalities--the Engineer and the Warrior--mainly for comedic purposes. You would not expect the shy and polite Engineer to be like "violence isn't the answer... violence is the question and the answer is yes :)"

It's just very funny how Spirit can completely change his entire life goals at the end of the game. So I decided my own take on him would be based around the sheer contrast between those two things + the strategics of his game lmao. I was also inspired by other people's takes on Spirit to some degree? Admittedly it was mainly because a lot of my initial ideas just overlapped with others' interpretations, so I went with that but with my own twist on it (like spirit being the shy and reserved type compared to wind, but that's just his surface personality and is mainly to hide his other gremlin/unhinged aspects)

Anyways that's all my rambling, this is all still VERY rough and is likely to change as time goes on so... yeah lol

Selina wasn't expecting this when she decided to have some fun and do what she does best.

She just meant to sweet talk her way into Master's gala/party. Flirt and get info, maybe some blackmail. Steal away the rare cat themed artifact he had recently gotten (and also steal away his actual cat, such a lovely little diva it is too). then she was going to disappear into the night like always.

So...

Selina casted her eyes into the mirror of her car and could see the tiny children she had rescued from Master's hidden basement lab. All but one was asleep, the oldest out of them, although she seemed to be losing that fight from the way her head was falling forward, eyes closing but would jerk herself back awake when she realized she was falling asleep.

Curled up as hard and as much as they could towards the little redhead was three dark haired children, Selina mused that they'd fit right in with Bruce and his little bats/birds.

Two were near identical boys, though one seemed to be much paler than the other and if she remembered right one had red eyes and the other had blue, and the last one of the sleeping kids was a tiny toddler, a girl she heard was named 'Ellie' from the others.

Selina took note that the red head, Jazz, had finally fallen asleep a few minutes later. With a deep breath as she drove further and further away from that... that insane Fruitloop (she overheard the two boys call him that as they ran to her car) Master's place, she blindly reached for her phone and pressed a single digit on the screen, knowing it will connect to her car and call up the only person she can trust to help her with this.

"Selina." came the gravely voice after a single ring, sounds like she caught him on patrol but he seemed to be in a spot where he was okay to say her actual name over coms or she caught him before his night shift started.

"Hello Darling, I need your help with some kittens I found and to help me... Put away their terrible old owner."

Robin chose Steve. Robin made the conscious and deliberate decision that she could and would trust Steve. She already liked him! She had fun working and bantering with him! They were already on their way to being weird little bffs and the torture just expedited the process. Steve chose Robin just the same! He thinks she's fun and cool and likes her so much! He chose to be honest and open with her too, putting himself out there.

Even though their interests on the surface level don't match why wouldn't they share them? Steve clearly caves when Robin wants to watch a movie he doesn't think he'll like, Robin can watch a March madness game or five.

Stop trying to take away their bond oh my god people can be close to more than one person!!! Their best friend doesn't have to be dismissive or mean or whatever in order for a romance to be special to them!
