what is ur favorite riverdale story line

ok. this is gonna be a long winded answer but jdsjsd

i would say season one?? like most riverdale stans, i would guess. but i haven’t watched season one in a while so like. i imagine it’s not all that i remember it to be lol.

villain-wise, i actually kinda liked the black hood i think?? season one was pretty good regarding the compelling nature of the ~crime~ itself, probably above all other seasons, in my opinion, even if the who-done-it aspect wasn’t all that amazing, while on the other hand, i think the ~mystery~ aspect is actually being better done this season (season three, that is) than the others, as at least i have no standing theories on who it is lol. the black hood isn’t all that compelling concerning the actual crimes (death just gets less and less important as riverdale progresses lol) or the mystery aspect (i didn’t necessarily suspect hal, but that’s more because i didn’t care all that much lol), but i liked the conflict it caused for our respective ‘heroes’. i guess since archie’s my favorite character, it was the most compelling antagonist for him personally compared to any of the others.

but season one was all around more….. grounded lol. things weren’t as crazy and i didn’t have to suspend my belief exponentially just to make it through each episode. the whole season revolved mainly around the death of one person, which compared to the two seasons that came after, doesn’t feel like all that much anymore, but i liked that about season one i guess?? that the death(s) felt important. while i would probably hesitate to say the teenagers actually acted like teenagers, they definitely did more than they do now. i dunno, things were easier to digest in season one from a more realistic perspective. some might find that more boring, though, which i won’t fault them for; it’s just my preferred cup of tea, as it were.

but i think season two gave the characters, or at least archie, some development. for better or worse (probably for worse cause this is riverdale lol), his character actually had a driving force behind his arc, however less grounded it may be. i guess i have mixed feelings concerning that lol. the price of the less passivity of archie’s story was that it felt less real and tangible compared to the first season.

idk if i even wanna get into season three tbh lmao. it’s not over as of yet, but it feels like a archie!whump fanfic so far and the villain is, so far, being painted to most likely be another one of our character’s parents, which if so, would be the third time it’s played out that way. which is. less than thrilling lol. but as i mentioned before, i do like that the mystery is more prevalent; i honestly have no idea where to even start with any guesses or theories, so i guess kudos to them for that, at least.

i honestly would feel better coming to a conclusion after rewatching at least season one, if not two as well, but the answer is probably a tentative season one for now. that season at least seemed to have a solid head on its shoulders. >.o

LISTEN. the mines kevin and archie (and later fred and tom) went to were in fox forest, right? fox forest is cut to half by the sweetwater river. therefore part of the forest is on greendale. could the mines be the same mines as the ones harvey saw satan in? there was a drawing in the latest episode that was about the gargoyle king, but also looked a LOT like satan does in caos. i feel like that consipiracy theory meme but could the gargoyle king be (or at least be related to) satan himself?

ok but legitimately EVEN IF i thought a crossover that extensive (a whole season baddy being the bad guy from an entirey different show) was a route they were going to take (which would be ambitious and cool and i wouldn’t rly mind if these two shows just entirely integrated into each other tbh [in a ~canon confirmed~ way, not necessarily becoming one show oof], but that’s assuming it would be done right, which, considering the riverdale writers’ track record, is literally never going to happen pffjfh so), i actually don’t think the gargoyle king is all that comparable to the whole goat fursona thing the dark lord’s got going on over on tcaos. unless he just. changed forms. like a serious downgrade for the sake of podunkville over here. which i mean. sure. but it’s not as cool hdjdj as an audience or from a writer’s perspective.

i would however be willing to consider it’s a witch-y sort of thing going on, related to greendale in some way, but not necessarily satan himself. i think little details like those mines being in fox forest, which just happens to be shared by both riverdale and greendale, are intentional, especially considering the more supernatural nature of the villain this season (even if it turns out to be a nerd in a costume, the presentation has more of a boogeyman feel intentionally), so honestly, anything could happen at this point. this season has been a RIDE tbh so actually, if it is satan himself, u know, fine ok phrhfhfh it’s just riverdale tbh, i’ll roll with it x

cause i suck and as much as i hate riverdale i haven’t actually found a good enough reason to stop watching yet 8D but fingers cross u know xx

p.s. i feel the need to rewatch the last scene in 3x06 now bc i didn’t pay attention to all the different drawings 👀 if one of them undeniably does look similar to SATAN, then i definitely think these are at least easter eggs for the multifans watching, but i wouldn’t mind if it was the writers actually trying to be legitimately clever for once in foreshadowing

i probably have like 20 scenes that i loved and would die for but have just forgotten about because riverdale, too, forgets they ever happened jsdj

buuut off the top of my head, the first aired scene tbh ??? (if i’m remembering correctly, that is lol) the whole collage of vague shots with cheryl and jason going down to sweetwater river, idk the music, the cinematography; it’s probably what made me fall in love with the show in the first place t b h . i still love that whole scene, as vague and as not necessarily all that important it is.
