I just finished reading “either love is a shrine (or else, a scar)” by jamesevanwilson on A03 and all i have to say is that i cried so much, snot running down my nose, heart aching and my mum actually thought there was something seriously wrong going on.

It’s one of the most beautiful pieces of writing i have ever been blessed to read, and the fact that it’s a fanfic and it’s specifically about characters for whom my love is so deep-rooted, makes it all the more heart-warming and heart-wrenching all at once.

Whether it’s because my period probably starts tomorrow and my hormones are not doing okay or not, this was the most alive and full and lovely fanfic i have ever read. If you’re a hilson fan, i would encourage you, with all my heart, to give this fic a read. You will not be let down, that i can promise.

I think that the thing that made this fic so powerful is how close to reality it came. It could have easily been a canon part of the show and that makes it all the more heartbreaking.

I need them to do a reboot of House but I want them to just go fucking wild with it. Everyone's gay, everyone's fucking. House, Wilson, and Cuddy are in a toxic polycule, one that definitely violates work ethics, that ends when Cuddy cheats on them with Cameron. I want it to be just as homophobic, just as ableist, just as fucked up, as the original and yet have the characters all be so fucking woke. Same episodes with the same plots but modern. I want Chase to have an onlyfans.

wilson is so obviously gay that i don’t even consider it a headcanon.

he meets women and he genuinely tries to be their friends. they pursue him, and he lets it happen. he gives them everything they want, and he never asks them to do anything for him. he doesn’t want them to even try meet any of his needs, because they can’t. then, when he realises that he’s unfulfilled, he lets other women pursue him and lets those relationships happen too, but he’s still unfulfilled. his wives and girlfriends all leave him, and he lets it happen without much of a fight because he’s not really attached to them. he canonically has problems getting it up.

he’s a completely passive non-participant in his relationships. the only person he ever fights to stay with is house. the only person he takes the initiative to leave is house. the only person he opens up to and has fun with and actually does things with is house. he actively ignores and tries to get away from his partners in favour of spending time with house. his wives blame house for breaking up their marriages and think house is a home wrecker. house constantly tries to come out as bisexual and wilson is completely in denial and just ignores it every time. he gets weirdly defensive when people assume that he and house are together.
