jaisira has been dealing me psychic damage lately, so here's a quick thing for them-

so in the au, daisy, basira, and jon are a small, independent crime group. they probably do mostly robbery, and a little bit of revenge for close friends, although nothing super malicious (as long as they can hold daisy back, of course-). I haven't completely thought the whole what crime do they do thing out yet.

anyways! all of them play an important role in the crime part. daisy is their brute force, fighting with tooth and claw against security guards or anyone else they need to move away. she also enjoys kicking doors down, although that's when basira tends to come in.

basira is their surveyor, stalking specific targets to find out their schedules. she's good at cracking safes and picking locks because I said so. she also tends to have a few more weapons on her than daisy does, only because daisy prefers to fight with her fists.

and lastly is jon, who is y'know, the token hacker in the big white van behind the establishment. he can get eyes anywhere (haha get it? eyes? watcher?) and is probably on some government watch list. daisy and basira rely on a lot of his help, as he can get on security cameras. him and basira also do a lot of the planning together.

and then after a day of doing all that, they go home and lay on the couch together. all exhausted but glad to have each other's company nonetheless.

oh this is a fun au tho, yes, i think they could make a fun little team. i've been seduced into watching leverage lately, so my mind is going there.. i feel as if they should have at least two more folks on their team, but they definitely make an effective triad of troublemakers

Okay a summary of changes:

Miran and Garan are cut (RIP two characters whose personalities were based in going with the flow and not taking initiative; you weren’t narratively compelling)

Folded Eyr into Achine and Fahrai into Moreldis so we only have one sparkly chipper girl and only one gloomy asshole and not so many minor characters to track in a 30k-ish novella

Merged Viyer and Sorah into one character named Siran (because I have no idea how to name characters except by mashing together the name sounds of old ones), which is gonna take more working because Viyer and Sorah were pretty different characters even if they occupied roughly the same story niche. Siran’s gonna be Kayram’s best friend/big sister figure like Sorah was and also the primary ruler of the Kreah like Viyer was and I might have to find her personality by writing scenes instead of brainstorming

The power struggle subplot between Viyer and Moreldis has been toned down a lot; Moreldis is on roughly equal footing with Siran and the conflict comes in how the mortals treat them

Moreldis’s name is just Eldis now because I like the sound but I can’t deal with two M names

Jaisera —> Jaisira so I can keep the quip about him being named after Sorah-now-Siran but it still shortens to Jaisi

Kayram and Achine’s names might change later because I’m not super happy with them but that’s for later

Tightening the PoV so it’s just Kayram in the central part of the story

Some semi-spoilery plot stuff

The good news is at least this time the changes aren’t so dramatic that it’s unrecognizable so I can confidently call my next draft the second draft rather than the first-fifth draft, which is really nice
