a touch of fire - will suffice
Pairing: Susanis Character(s): Jadis | The White Witch/Susan Pevensie Rating: M Warnings/Tags: Missing Scene, Attempted Seduction, Emotional Manipulation, Dreams, Or Is It?
When Susan finally sees the White Witch, the world comes to a standstill.
She’s lifted high above her retinue, garbed in silver and white finery. She stares out ahead, ignoring the jeers and taunts from the crowd that has gathered. All sets of eyes are trained on this figure, and Susan can see why. Despite the cold aura the Witch exudes, warmth curls unexpectedly within Susan. The sharp line of her jaw, the rise of her brow, and the set of her high cheekbones, as though cut from marble, strike Susan in a manner so unexpected.
She finds herself utterly ensnared, like she’s been dropped into a pool of tar, the viscous liquid of it clinging to her so she can’t climb out.
It thrills her as much as it frightens her.
Read it below, or on AO3.
A/N: Written for an exchange; this fic is probably more like a hard T/soft M, but I’ve erred on the side of caution with this one.
Title inspired by Robert Frost’s poem Fire and Ice.
Susan likes facts – she likes things that can be deduced from logic, from reality. She likes things having rhyme and reason to them.
Before that game of hide and seek, before that great old house, before they had to escape London with their lives, she also would say seeing is believing.
That there aren’t snow covered forests in the backs of wardrobes, that beavers don’t speak, and fauns and witches don’t exist. That things like that are impossible. That things like that aren’t real.
Coming to Narnia changes that – the cold that bites at her skin, the taste of fish that lingers in her mouth from dinner, and the notes of the Beavers’ voices, which she can understand every syllable of, tells her this is all very, very real.
It’s still an entirely different world though, one none of them, save for Lucy – and possibly Edmund – really know anything about. But Lucy is still a child, still believes the best of everyone, and doesn’t question things she ought to. And Edmund, well – given that he had lied about Narnia existing in the first place, anything he had to say on the matter needed to be taken with a grain of salt.
So when the Beavers speak of the White Witch, Susan doesn’t know what to make of it.
They describe her as a cruel being, a false queen. One who wields powerful magic, with a faithful army and a legion of spies. Someone who rules with fear and tyranny. The sort of figure that Susan has learnt of in school, the kind responsible for the very war they all have just fled from. A villain, who now holds her brother captive.
A frightening figure to behold.
But Susan also thinks of the note left in the faun Tumnus’s house, of how he was described as a criminal, a traitor.
She thinks of how they had encountered Mr Beaver, so soon after discovering Tumnus’s arrest. As though he had been waiting for them.
She wonders of Edmund’s first visit to Narnia. She wonders if Edmund had seen something of the White Witch that others hadn’t.
There’s little time to think on the matter though, as they are chased for days on end, across snow-covered woods and icy rivers, all so they can reach this ‘Aslan’ figure. He is spoken of by the Beavers, Mr Fox, even Father Christmas with reverence, as though he’s some kind of hero, the so-called ‘rightful’ ruler of the land. He could very well be some kind of seditious rebel, for all Susan knows.
But he is, apparently, their only hope of getting Edmund back. And so Susan, with precious few other options, and Peter and Lucy to watch out for, stays.
**
When she finally lays eyes on the White Witch, the world comes to a standstill.
This woman – no, not quite a woman, a voice whispers in her mind – cuts an imposing figure.
Whether it’s because she had imagined the Witch to be far less captivating than she is, or that Susan finds this a fact worth remarking on at all, Susan couldn’t say.
And then something even more unexpected happens. The Witch turns her gaze, and it is suddenly upon Susan.
The eyes of darkest coal meet hers, and Susan feels herself falling.
She finds herself utterly ensnared, like she’s been dropped into a pool of tar, the viscous liquid of it clinging to her so she can’t climb out. It thrills her as much as it frightens her.
No other expression crosses the Witch’s face – no turn of the mouth in a sneer, no tilt of a chin in order to assert queenly control. Nothing to reveal the Witch’s thoughts as she stares right back at Susan.
Susan can feel her nerves tremble and her face grow warm. Something tells Susan she must look away, but she can’t – can’t tear her eyes from the towering figure that looms above them all.
Then the Witch passes them. She shifts her gaze forward again, and Susan feels like she can breathe once more.
**
Susan tries to sleep that night, to little avail. She should have been out like a light the moment her head hit the pillow from the day she had: from the ambush, to the encounter with the White Witch, to the extravagant, triumphant feast celebrating the Witch’s agreement to spare Edmund’s life.
And while her body is exhausted, her heart and mind race at a dizzying rate, helped little by the mead she drank earlier.
It makes the lines between waking and dreaming blurred – it makes her hear whispers, and see shadows move in and out of her vision.
It must be just the tree spirits trying to soothe her to sleep.
But then, out of the darkness, a voice rings out.
“Did no-one tell you it was rude to stare, Daughter of Eve?”
It is a regal voice, one that reverberates in the air around them, and it slices into Susan like a wintry gust of wind.
Susan tries to see if Lucy has been woken by the sound, yet her sister has not stirred at all.
It is a voice Susan has only heard once before, belonging to –
The White Witch emerges from out of the shadows, draped in similar finery from earlier that day. The only difference is that the furs she had worn have been discarded, revealing a shimmering dress, its bodice cut low enough to make Susan flush.
The Witch pins Susan down with her dark gaze, and Susan feels a familiar quivering inside her as she meets it with her own.
Susan feels her tongue curl and stick to the roof of her own mouth, almost refusing to allow her to speak. She summons the nerve to bow her head slightly, and lowers her gaze.
“Forgive me – it’s not every day one encounters a Queen, your Majesty,” Susan says carefully.
The Queen remains unnaturally still, and Susan wonders briefly if she’s said the wrong thing. But then the piercing stare the Queen had fixed Susan with relaxes slightly.
“Well, at least you’re not entirely ill-informed.”
Susan waits silently. There is more to this, surely.
“But I am curious to know, dear Susan – what exactly have they told you about me?”
Susan swallows thickly. How could she know her name?
But then, Susan thinks, as the Queen looks at her steadily, she is meant to be all-powerful – perhaps that also means all-knowing. Susan’s palms grow sweaty and the hairs on her arms stand on end.
“Many things, your Majesty.”
The Queen smiles enigmatically, an amused upturn of the lips that draws Susan’s attention once more.
“Hmm. And do you believe everything you have been told?”
The question stops Susan dead – no, of course not, that has never been true, and isn’t, even now. She almost responds in indignation, but she catches herself. The Queen’s mood has improved since she first appeared, and Susan doesn’t want it to sour.
She tries to think of an answer that won’t make her look foolish, yet will still satisfy the Queen.
She settles upon evading the question entirely.
“I don’t know anything, Your Majesty. I am just a stranger here.”
The Queen moves closer. With every step she takes, trepidation seeps further and further into Susan, rooting her to the ground beneath her.
“My brother and sister found their way here...I - I just wanted Edmund back and then we could all go home.”
It’s not enough – the Queen continues to advance on her, and Susan searches desperately for something else, something more. “The only thing I know, is -” and Susan hesitates then; she realises she does have an answer, but it is too dangerous. Too revealing. It will ultimately seal her fate.
But her traitorous tongue, which had earlier been entirely uncooperative, voices the thought anyway. Voices what has been on her mind since she had first laid eyes on the Queen.
“– is I just find myself drawn to you, Your Majesty.”
Susan expects the Queen to react in disgust, or surprise.
Instead, the Queen draws closer, closer, until she is so close that Susan can feel her breath across her cheeks. It makes Susan’s head swim.
The Queen presses two fingers beneath Susan’s chin. The touch is cool at first, but then the undercurrent of warmth running beneath the Queen’s skin makes itself known. It’s a sensation that makes Susan quiver, down to the marrow in her bones.
“Sweet girl,” the Queen murmurs softly, running her thumb along Susan’s bottom lip, “So selfless.”
Susan frowns in consternation – this is certainly not the reaction she had anticipated. It’s a feeling further compounded when the Queen’s other hand reaches up to smooth the furrowed lines of her brow.
“You’re a child who was made to shoulder the burdens of a mother.”
The Queen’s fingers still then – the warmth from her touch seems to spread from her fingers, travelling along Susan’s jaw, throat, and deep into her chest. It plucks at her heartstrings, even as an icy stab of bitterness cuts into Susan’s gut.
“All the responsibilities of a woman grown.”
The bitterness makes Susan’s gut turn – Susan cares for her sister and brothers, she does, these are just horrid times, so of course she (they all) have had to grow up, and –
“And yet you have not been able to indulge in any of the pleasures.”
The harsh sting of the Queen’s thumbnail gouging into her lip is quickly soothed by the Queen pressing her mouth to Susan’s.
It’s like the breath has been stolen from her lungs, a rush of cold almost choking her from the inside out.
A paradoxical heat curls low in her belly, and lower still, flicking between her thighs like the licking flames of the fire from that night’s feast.
It’s a kiss that chills her, yet makes her burn.
It is then that the Queen breaks away, only to murmur in Susan’s ear.
“Come to me, Susan – I will teach you everything you want to know.”
The Queen runs her fingers over the tops of Susan’s legs, circling around her hip. Susan quakes terribly then, almost collapsing into the Queen, who grips her with an iron strength that makes Susan feel like she might die then and there.
“And I will show you all the pleasures a woman can have.”
And then, the Witch disappears.
Susan sits bolt upright, with a rabbiting heart and a warmth that burns low in her gut and rises in her chest. Lucy runs to her not a moment after, heedless of her rattled state, and urges her outside after the Lion disappearing between two copse of trees on the edge of camp.
Susan wavers for a moment. Her mind is definitely still addled, but it is sound enough to recognise no good can come from following someone in the dead of night, no matter how benevolent they seemed.
As if sensing her hesitation, the regal voice from earlier murmurs into Susan’s ear.
“Come to me, Susan.”
And Susan finds herself helpless but to obey.
A/N: Hope you enjoyed this : ) !

Hello!
This year I took part in the annual Narnia Fic Exchange and published my first ever fic on Ao3 💫 The fic centres around Narnian magic & how it is used by different characters and was requested by @element4lraven ❤️‍🔥 I wasn't able to post it on here until now as it needed to stay anonymous for a number of days but it's now gone public under my Ao3 username.
Please go read it if you like :)
https://archiveofourown.org/works/58859902
I honestly had so much fun writing it and it felt amazing posting my first ever fic after over 13 years of being part of various fandoms but never finding the time or the courage to post any work of my own.
I'll definitely be writing more fics soon for the Narnia fandom as well as a few other fandoms like Stranger Things. Stay posted & follow me on here or Ao3 if you'd like to see more in the foreseeable 🫶🏻

Epithet: The True
Title/status: Guardian and advisor to the sons of Adam and daughters of Eve (formerly), Queen of Narnia (now)

Weapons: dagger, sword w/ a lion head hilt, bow and arrow quiver (her initials are on the quiver/ also a gift from father christmas)

Extra: Before Alina was born, it was prophesied that a guardian of the sons of Adam and the daughters of Eve would be be born and would ensure their claim to the thrones of Cair Paravel and they would also be powerful sorceress to help defeat the white witch and end her reign. After Alina was born, the cold winter winds of Narnia blew a warmth of hope telling everyone of Narnia that the guardian was born including Jadis the white witch, so she sent her army to find her and eliminate her and those that harbored her. Alina's mother was confronted by Aslan in a dream. He told her about Alina's destiny, and he promised that she would be safe, but she would have to be separated from her family for her own safety. So Alina's mother gave her to Aslan, who transported her to earth in the home of Professor Diggory Kirk, where he raised her with Macready. As she grew up, she went back to Narnia once where she met Mr. Tumnus once, but after that one journey, she never went back again until she met the Pevensies.
After she met the Pevensies, she immediately loved them and felt a pull towards them to protect them and from then on she had never left their side, until they left Narnia to their home but Alina this time remained.

When I'm Beheaded, At Least I Was Wedded || New Narnia Fanfic on AO3
A long time ago, as a child, Caspian loved the tales of the Old Narnians. Back then, he believed very much in fairytales, and in happy endings. Yet today, he is only praying for the resolve to kill, and the strength to marry.   To avoid civil war, King Caspian X and High King Peter agree to marry. Caspian, however, is sent with a dagger in his hand and a job to do. Unsure whether he will have the strength to go through with it, he travels to Cair Paravel, and steels himself. The Kings and Queens of Old are suspicious for this soon-to-be member of their family, and take measures to protect themselves from his attack. What they forget to do, however, is protect their hearts.
Current word count: 40,000
Posted on: AO3 (link below)
We have currently only posted part one of the fanfic but we are definitely continuing it! Hope you read and enjoy it.
Peter Pevensie
Tumblr media
After returning from London, Peter Pevensie was shocked to find that the Telmarines had taken over. After attempting to live in peace with them for months, itching for war, Peter finally receives a letter.
In this fanfic, Peter can be cold and bloodthirsty and he is certainly the most powerful member of his family by far. He adores the rest of his family and would do anything for them.
Susan Pevensie
Tumblr media
While happy to be back in Narnia, Susan Pevensie does not want war whatsoever and will do whatever she can to avoid it. She is soft-hearted and quickly charmed by Caspian in her desire to avoid war.
She is very close to the rest of her family, and her top priority is to avoid war and for Narnia to prosper.
Edmund Pevensie
Tumblr media
In this AU Edmund is ambitious, jealous, but also a very good support to the rest of his family and to Caspian. He adores Lucy. He is immediately suspicious of Caspian and very difficult to convince otherwise. He is still very haunted by Jadis and it affects a lot of what he does.
Edmund is the one to put in place all security measures against Caspian and it takes a while for the two to bond, but when they do, they become very close.
Lucy Pevensie
Tumblr media
Lucy is happy to invite Caspian into the family but she, like Peter, does not think the Telmarines have right to rule after the way Caspian's predecessors have treated the Old Narnians. She welcomes Caspian into the family, happy to have him as long as her people are treated well.
She tends to side with Peter in arguments but is also very close to Susan and Edmund. She has a close connection with Aslan, as always.
King Caspian X
Tumblr media
Caspian is desperate for his uncle Miraz's approval and will do anything to impress him and earn his love. He agrees to marry Peter after being convinced by Miraz and moves to Cair Paravel to find he loves it there and the Pevensies treat him very well.
His orders from Miraz cause him to do bad things that leads the Pevensies to fall out with him, pushing Caspian even closer into Miraz's clutches, wanting to be loved by anyone at all. He is gentle and uncertain about his place in Narnia.

𝗡𝗔𝗥𝗡𝗜𝗔 𝗣𝗟𝗢𝗧 𝗕𝗨𝗡𝗡𝗜𝗘𝗦
By the request of my darling @ginevrastilinski-ocs and @dancingsunflowers-ocs (as well as @luucypevensie, though she's already been infodumped to about my newest children), I hereby present to you my new OCs for The Chronicles of Narnia! I might not have their official intro posts up for a little bit, but please still fell free to ask me questions about them!
(Before I get any futher into this, there are a few things I should clarify in order for the lore surrounding these OCs to make sense: 1) my OCs' stories are purely based off of the movie canon because the most I've read of the books is the first chapter of The Magician's Nephew, and 2) I have messed with the canon of the movies like, a lot. For starters, the Pevensies never go back into their world at the end TLTWATW, so they remain the kings and queens of Narnia. For another thing I also completely messed up the timeline so that the Telmarines try to invade and take over shortly after they become the rulers after they've heard about the White Witch's death, and Caspian defects and offers help to the Narnian crown, both because he wants to save himself from his uncle and because he never supported the invasion to begin with - basically, I'm just rewriting most of the story after the first movie to my liking. I'm still figuring out the intricacies of what that's going to mean for certain important events in the last two movies, but for now, on to telling you about the OCs!!)
HEMERA:
Tumblr media
— Susan ship.
— Hemera comes from a family of Golden Witches - witches that have mastery over light and heat and solar energy depending on their power level. Her family comes from the same coven that the White Witch used to be a part of, and only a few of them, including Hemera's mother, were able to escape and survive when Jadis killed most of the coven and took over Narnia (yes, I have also very much made up my own Narnian witch lore).
— When Hemera is eleven years old, however, Jadis comes looking for the Golden Witches she missed, killing Hemera's mother, grandmother, great-aunt, and even her human father, and she is sent away to hide, becoming the only Witch besides Jadis left alive in Narnia.
— She spends the next several years in hiding, being sheltered by kind animals or sleeping in forests and being kept safe by the trees, until she hears that the prophesied Daughters of Eve and Sons of Adam have actually arrived in Narnia and are teaming up with Aslan to form an army against the White Witches forces, and she decides to volunteer her magic to help in the fight.
— Her magic isn't actually very strong or focused, however, because she's spent so long barely using it to try and stay safe, so she doesn't do much in the fight. But after Jadis is defeated and the Pevensies are crowned rulers of Narnia, Aslan suggests that they appoint Hemera as the Court Witch - a position rulers of Narnia before Jadis would always have a Witch fill, to help in any battles and provide council on magical matters - promising that he will give her lessons to help her connect more to the Deep Magic and her own powers.
— A hopeless little lesbian who takes one look at Susan with her bow and arrows and pretty much immediately falls in love (it takes Susan a little longer, especially considering the era she comes from, but she gets there).
— Definitely just as much a ray of sunshine as her powers suggest, but also not very good at social interaction since she's spent the majority of her time alone since she was eleven, so she's very impulsive and often just says whatever pops into her head (definitely a perfect contrast to Susan's quieter and planning-inclined nature).
— She and Susan are very much sunshine x sunshine protector.
— Becomes another sister to the rest of the Pevensies; she might have lost one family, but she definitely gained another.
ALARIC RYKER:
Tumblr media
— Peter ship.
— A teenage crime lord from Thorn Town, a small city far enough away from Narnia's capital to be mostly spared from Jadis's wrath when she took over Narnia, only having to suffer the eternal cold and the general decline in food rather than the White Witch's cruelty.
— Long before Alaric was born, a smuggling ring called the Shadowy Ravens sprung up in Thorn Town as a response to the lack of resources, stealing from Jadis's soliders and shipments going to the royal palace in order to give them back to members of the community. They began resorting to worse means of getting things as time went on, even killing a few of Jadis's guards, but Jadis never payed them enough mind to take action against them, and the few soliders who did try to get revenge for their comrades were not sucessful.
— Alaric was born a street rat, born to a mother who didn't even know who his father was and who abandoned him when he was a few months old, and he was taken in by the second-in-command of the Shadowy Ravens, who raised him like his own son and taught him everything he knew.
— Alaric eventually rose to second-in-command himself (after doing some less-than-ethical tasks to prove himself) and after both the Ravens' leader and his adoptive father were killed in a scuffle with Jadis's soliders, shortly before the Pevensies came to Narnia, he rose to become the youngest leader the gang had ever had.
— About a year after the Pevensies are crowned kings and queens, when the Telmarines start to invade, Peter approaches Alaric and the Shadowy Ravens, asking for Alaric's help and for soliders to boost their army. He's heard about Alaric's gift for strategy, how despite being so young and constantly underestimated he's managed to take down several more gangs who sprung up in the early days of the Pevensies' rule and tried to steal his territory, and Peter knows his men are strong and trained enough to fight the Telmarines, but loyal enough that they will only join the fight if their leader gives them permission.
— Alaric is pretty reluctant at first - he doesn't exactly have a great amount of trust in any Narnian leaders given how he grew up - but he also figures that not only do the four new kings and queens not seem so bad, but that even if they don't turn out very well then the Telmarines would be worse, so he agrees to lend his strategic knowledge and any of his men who are willing to fight to the cause.
— After the Telmarines are defeated, Peter offers him a position as the new head battle strategist of the Narnian military, and Alaric actually decides he's had enough of being a gang leader, of all the violence and worrying about an entire village full of people depending on him, and accepts it, giving control of the Ravens over to his second but also making sure that the Pevensies set up a new system that will provide extra resources to towns and cities farther away from the capital like Thorn Town. (He also accepts the offer only a little bit because he thinks the new High King is cute and brave and compassionate.)
— It still takes him and Peter a while to get together, mainly because Alaric has big-time trust issues and struggles to let down any of his walls, but once they do they're a surprisingly sweet couple, and the other Pevensies are more than happy to accept Alaric as their new future brother-in-law.
KAI HALLOWS:
Tumblr media
— Caspian ship.
— A pirate boy!! He was basically born on the sea, to a former captain of the Narnian Navy (Jadis disbanded most of the military when she took over and replaced them with her own soliders) and his wife. Kai was born on his father's ship, but it was difficult since no one on board really knew how to help a woman giving birth, and his mother died shortly after.
— After his wife's death, Kai's father retreated into the delusion that he was still a respected member of the Narnian military (despite the fact that most of the sea around Narnia was half-frozen and everyone in the surrounding countries were too scared of Jadis to allow his ship to dock in their cities) and ran his ship like a dictator, barely ever giving his crew a break and ignoring his son unless Kai had done something he didn't like, in which case he was yelling at him loud enough for the whole ship to hear. He treated Kai more like an insubordinate member of the crew than his son, and his actual crew did more of a job raising Kai than he did, taking it upon themselves to take care of the boy and raise him right.
— Kai was definitely a troublemaker and a bit of a rogue, always getting into trouble whenever the crew was actually allowed to dock somewhere, whether that was from pickpocketing or pulling some kind of prank on a local solider. Eventually, when he was fourteen, his father became fed up with him and left him, abandoning his son at a market in a city far away from Narnia and setting sail again, despite the protests of everyone on his crew.
— But rather than let that do anything to stop him, Kai located a large abandoned ship in the local harbor, claimed it as his own, and worked odd jobs until he had enough coin to fix it up properly. A few friends he had made in the city decided to sail off with him as the first crew members of the Golden Fish - the chosen name for his new ship - and as they sailed around more and more, getting used to thieving and being pirates in general, they picked up more and more souls looking for adventure, until Kai had himself a proper pirate crew.
— And a few years later, when the White Witch was defeated and ships started coming out of Narnia again, they were able to ramp up their exploits even more, until the Golden Fish and her crew were one of the most notorious names on the high seas.
— They're so well-known, in fact, that when Caspian wants to set sail to try and find seven Telmarine lords that he thinks will have the answer to stopping the green mist that has started to overtake parts of Narnia, High King Peter decides that it would be a good idea to contact the captain of the Golden Fish and offer him a large payment for taking the prince, his two youngest siblings, and their chosen crew along for extra protection.
— Kai agrees, of course - not only will he never say no to adventure or any amount of coin, but he suspects it might be good for his reputation to do business with the High King and not wind up in prison because of it - and he and his crew take the the prince, king, and queen, along with their chosen companions, aboard their ship to set sail on this voyage.
— He and Caspian bond over their father issues at first, but they get closer and closer over the course of the adventure, with Kai bringing Caspian out of the shell he was forced to live in when he was with the Telmarines even more than the Pevensies have over the year he's been with them, and eventually, of course, they fall in love!
— Kai also develops friendships with Lucy and Edmund - he and Edmund bond over being proud bisexuals with no time for hetero bullshit, and he and Lucy are very much badass WLW/MLM solidarity - and even when the voyage is over and they return to Narnia, Peter and Susan take an immediate liking to this boy who's stolen their friend's heart and managed to make him so happy (even if he does get the shovel talk of a lifetime from both of them).
Aaaaand that's it for info on my new Narnia babies!! It might take me a bit to get some proper intro posts for them, but you can still feel free to ask me whatever questions about them you want to!!
(I know I said Grace and @oneirataxia-girl have already been infodumped to about this, but I'm tagging them both because there's new info here, and I'm also tagging @endless-oc-creations because she loves Narnia as well!!)

narnia kink meme: fic rec list
some fics i read and loved from the spring bacchanal run by @thenarniaficexchange! lots of lovely 1-2k M/E rated goodness--heaps more brilliant unclaimed/unwritten prompts too--and i've got so many more ideas for ships and scenarios now :D :D
.
I'm Glad it Left a Mark || Edmund/Susan || 1.4k, M. golden age: deep connection and aching need heightened by the dread of imminent parting. the writing is just gorgeous -- the turn of phrase! the rhythm! the feels.
He wants to tell her how like a bird she is, all hollow bones and bright eyes, all ruffled feathers and deadly, dangerous longing to take flight, an instinct beyond thought or control. Wants to beg her to turn the ship around, to stay with him for always, to never fly beyond his reach. To be the waves beneath him, the tide surrounding him, enveloping and receding, leaving him renewed and wanting, all at once.
I have loved you for a thousand years. I'll love you for a thousand more. || Lucy/Sea Girl || 1.4k, E. oh the wistful pining, the sweet innocence, the dreamy haze of sensuousness and nostalgia... <3 <3 <3
After returning for the last time, she dreams of their days on the Dawn Treader. Of climbing the rigging, of sneaking through wizard homes, of meeting stars. Of seas of light and endless flowers. Tonight, however, she dreams of a girl under the waves, surrounded by colorful fish, and eyes filled with longing only matched by the ache in Lucy’s heart. It still haunts her, sailing away from her without ever speaking a word cut sharp, as if she was saying goodbye to an old friend.
Blossom rising delicate || Susan/Dryads || 2k, E. multi-era vignettes and the structure is so good. love the epigraph of choice, and such an unexpected and perfect ending.
The beacons are lit || Caspian/Lilandil || 1.1k, T. SO funny, such a unique take on the prompt. Three different eras of Narnian historical commentary on the wedding night of King Caspian X to the Star's Daughter… versus what really happened.
Well worth looking at || Digory/Statue || 1.8k, E. jesus christ, the humiliation kink here is done just perfectly. the tone is impeccable too, so narniaesque. also, polly is here and magnificent!
A wintry charm (or: Rim(m)ed with Frost) || Aslan/Jadis || 1.2k, E. aslan/jadis fuck yeah say no more.

What’s your favourite Narnia book? Mine is probably the magicians nephew :)
the magician's nephew is high up in the rankings for me! the world building (quite literally when aslan does it for narnia haha) was amazing and it's interesting to think about the multiverse through those pools in the wood between the worlds. also aunt letty vs jadis is such a hilarious moment i can't get over it LIKE SHE THREW HER ACROSS THE ROOM. thank god for that mattress.
but i think my favorite book in the series is probably prince caspian! personally, i related to caspian a lot, especially the wonder he experiences when meeting the narnians; it's a lot like when the reader yearns for magic and adventure in their world and being able to find it in a moment where it's least expected. for a dreamer such as me, it's very hopeful and delightful to see.
not to mention the book illustrates the bittersweet feeling of nostalgia when it comes to remembering the golden age so well. when you read the lion, the witch, and the wardrobe as well as the horse and his boy you feel wistful along with the pevensies, as if you sat on thrones with them, rode on horses along with them, talked to creatures of all kinds and had tea with them. there's something indescribable in reading this book and realizing things have changed so much, struggling to believe it all. hundreds of years? thousands of years? it's just too good.

‧₊˚✧ ❛[ queer headcanons - chronicles of narnia ]❜
ft. peter pevensie, susan pevensie, edmund pevensie, lucy pevensie, caspian x, eustace scrubb, tumnus, jadis, lilliandil
contains: caspeter (caspian x peter), peter's part is vague but he's definitely not straight despite what he's listed as, gay gay homosexual gay, mentioned transphobia & fights, pronouns match the ones used in the books/movies for writing consistency
➤ author's note: I saw some other people doing it, so i wanted to join in on the fun too!! remember that these are fictional characters with no set sexuality/gender, this is just for fun & for my to further procrastinate my wips
Tumblr media
━━━ .°˖✧ peter pevensie - straight ally (unless??) ˚₊ ⊹
╰₊✧ he was more than supportive of all his siblings when they came out, but never thought it was for him. like he has no issue in saying that a guy was attractive but wasn't actually attracted to him for the most part. he never properly questioned his sexuality until arriving in narnia for a second time and refuses to admit (although it was painfully obvious) that his gay awakening was a certain telmarine prince who happened to be his rival and a pretty boy— let's just say he's fighting a lot of internal demons.
━━━ .°˖✧ susan pevensie - lesbian ˚₊ ⊹
╰₊✧ (it was actually more difficult for her to accept that she didn't like men than to accept that she did like women). she was never interested in marriage proposals, invitations to dance, and general flirtatious advancements from men, finding her heart failing to flutter for any of them and only feeling general annoyance by it more than anything. she always told herself that she just hadn't met the right one, but quickly realized that she held no hope nor care if it ever happened. it wasn't until she felt her heart pounding for the first girl who displayed romantic interest for her did she begin to see love from a new perspective.
━━━ .°˖✧ edmund pevensie - transmasc demiromantic pansexual ˚₊ ⊹
╰₊✧ grew up being a tomboy who fussed over his hair growing past his ears, refused to wear dressed to mass or skirts to class, wore all of peter's old clothes instead of susan's, and then realized that he wasn't a girl. being crowned as "king edmund" was the first time he was his true self publicly, and he remained like that even back in england where he wasn't accepted by everyone. although his older brother sometimes gets into fights for his sake, he considers it as filtering out who he should spend his time with and who he should ignore. as a result, he doesn't date around much, but if someone manages to stick with him through all of his insecurities and trauma, he'll find himself slowly falling in love.
━━━ .°˖✧ lucy pevensie - asexual polyamorous lesbian ˚₊ ⊹
╰₊✧ she's always been a girl's girl who was for the girls! the valiant queen has plenty of love to go around, often seen spending quality with her girlfriend(s, who are probably also dating each other): having picnics, horseback riding, hosting tea parties, dancing, and so much more when she isn't performing her royal duties. she doesn't mind being intimate if her partner desires it, but she much prefers bonding in the ways listed above instead.
━━━ .°˖✧ caspian x - bisexual ˚₊ ⊹
╰₊✧ a real lover boy, flirting with both men and women, always making them swoon and blush over his handsome smile to fill an emptiness in his heart. it seemed like no one was able to ignore his irresistible charm until a certain blonde royal showed up with his sword swinging and an arrogant front to hide his true fears. caspian can’t remember the last time he felt so infuriated with someone he was determined to make his, but that would only make the victory of an eventual confession so much sweeter.
━━━ .°˖✧ eustace scrubb - gay demiromantic asexual ˚₊ ⊹
╰₊✧ grew up thinking girls were icky or had cooties before realizing that he simply wasn't attracted to them and they weren't all that bad. he's not completely uninterested in romance, just struggles to find and form a bond with a guy who doesn't think he is weird or mean, and then he struggles to determine if he likes him as a friend or potential love interest. it makes him seem picky in the eyes of others, but maybe he has a unique "friendship" with a boy from his childhood whom he writes to daily and can't envision himself with anyone else. (oh, and he's repulsed by the idea of sex, dare he say disgusted by it)
━━━ .°˖✧ tumnus - non-binary pansexual ˚₊ ⊹
╰₊✧ he doesn't care about gender within himself or his partners as the inner qualities they both possess are much more important. he could be referred to as "he" "she" "they" or something else entirely, he doesn't mind and prefers others to use whichever one they feel like. after becoming both an advisor and uncle figure to the pevensies, he helped immensely in their journey of accepting themselves since they came from a time/place where they could be ostracised for it, and they carried his wisdom long after leaving narnia.
━━━ .°˖✧ jadis - aromantic lesbian ˚₊ ⊹
╰₊✧ she doesn’t care for love nor does she have time for it. romance has never been something she ever considered adding to her long list of priorities, and it honestly made her scoff whenever she heard of it. however, she doesn’t mind having fun with a beautiful dryad who managed to look her in the eyes with an emotion other than fear and then sending them on their way before she gets tempted to eternally preserve their beauty in her growing garden of statues.
━━━ .°˖✧ lilliandil - transfem pansexual ˚₊ ⊹
╰₊✧ I don't have an explanation for this one, she has like five minutes of screen time— it feels right. she's a star who shines for all and is admired by all.

Is there anyone from the Narnia fandom who would be happy to do a beta read for me in a few days time? ❤️🌲🔦✨️ It's only a oneshot and probably won't be more than 2000 words :)

"Friends of Narnia" headcanons
(contains spoilers I'm sorry)
Digory having a certain connection with Edmund that he doesn't with the other children because he, too, was once under an enchantment of Jadis's type of magic, and also gave in. Polly would be able to understand the pressure, but she didn't give into it
Eustace and Jill being able to understand it to a certain extent from when they were saving Rilian
Eustace telling Edmund and Lucy about how much Rilian is like his father, using the example of him longing so badly to make the adventure down to Bism that it almost cost them their lives
Eustace also having to tell the siblings about the state Caspian was in- but then with joy recounting the sweet reunion of Caspian and Aslan in Aslan's country! For real that scene brings me to tears
Just imagining how Polly reacted when Digory told her after all that time that someone had finally gotten back into Narnia and it was through THAT wardrobe
Digory feeling an age of gut-wrenching regret and guilt easing considerably when he finds out that Jadis, the evil he awoke, has finally been wiped out
When he's telling Eustace the story of how he and Polly found Jadis, and how he thought she was the most beautiful woman he'd ever seen:
- Polly muttering that she never saw anything so beautiful about her (it's canon, in The Magician's Nephew)
- Eustace and Edmund exclaiming at the same time "You never saw Ramandu's daughter!"
Polly and Susan having similar personalities because Susan is very logical and Polly is very witty. The way Polly talks about Susan in TLB makes me think she knew her very well, maybe thought of her in a daughterly way
can the fandom please talk more about the fact that High King Peter and King Edmund dressed up as workers and trespassed into a stranger's back yard to dig a box out of the ground to get the rings!!!!!!! please
Please add more!!

So I just rewatched the lion, the witch and the wardrobe for the first time in years and there's a couple of things which stood out
Aslan was so much nicer looking and more expressive in 2005 than Simba was in the 2019 lion king reboot
The white witch has dreadlocks so. Really shouldn't be a surprise at all that she turns out to be evil
