We got a treadmill for free from a friend/my boss a week or so ago, and I had a lot of weird energy today so I decided to test it out. Walked for some time (I wanna say it was like 25 min but I don't remember) and then hours later still had the weird energy and walked another 20 min

And idk how much I'll keep it up but it did seem to help today at the least

Mountain sets an armload of pots down in the soft grass of the greenhouse. He straightens, stretching his spine until it pops loudly. He sags, wiping sweat from his brow with his dirt covered forearm, smearing it through auburn eyebrows and over freckled skin. 

Swiss huffs out a laugh as he watches, setting more pots down, looking over at Mountain’s dirt streaked face. 

“It’s too hot for this and you know it.” 

Mountain frowns. It is hot. It’s a balmy 95 outside, so he knows the greenhouse is much warmer. The air thick and damp. Beyond the glass walls he can see the others at the lake. Cumulus stretched out on a blanket with a book. Rain, Dew and Aeon trying to drown each other, Cirrus, floating a good distance away from them on a giant floaty shaped like a piece of pizza. 

“It has to be done, Swiss.” 

Mountain sighs, dragging his eyes away from his pack. He’ll finish up here and be out there with them in no time–but he can’t wait any longer. It’s too hot in here for the vegetables he started in the spring, and besides that they’re starting to take over. 

“Today?” 

Mountain nods. “It’s going to rain tomorrow. If we get them in today they’ll get a good strong start and–”

“And we’ll be overrun with tomatoes and cucumbers and squash like always,” Swiss teases. “I think there’s still shredded zucchini in the freezer from last year.” 

“Leave it to you to scoff at abundance.” Mountain rolls his eyes. “It’s only a couple more trips. I can do it, you don’t have to help.” 

Mountain turns to gather more plants. Loading his arms with plastic and terracotta pots alike, balencing them precariously in an attempt to make it take less trips back and forth from the vegetable garden. Swiss catches a poorly balanced pepper plant just before it falls to its death. 

“Shut up,” Swiss chides. Taking more of the plants from Mountain. “I don’t mind.” 

“You were just complaining.” 

Swiss waves him away. “So? I can complain and still like helping. I just wish you’d talk to them less while you’re planting them, it would go faster.” 

“You have to talk to them, Swiss.” Mountain says, matter-of-fact as they push through the greenhouse doors and out onto the lawn. “They get nervous otherwise.” 

Swiss doesn’t dignify that with a response, instead he just leads the way to the vegetable garden. A wide swath of freshly tilled land surrounded by a low stone wall, bracketed by fruit trees in full bloom. Swiss takes his stack of plants to one side of the garden, and Mountain goes to the other. 

They work silently. Planting seedlings in neat organized rows. Hands tamping down fresh dirt around delicate roots. Mountain whispering praises, and reassurance to each tiny plant. 

There’s a whoop of laughter from the lake, and a shriek that could only belong to Cirrus. 

“Someone flipped her,” Swiss says without looking up. 

“They’ll be dead before dinner.” 

“It’s really a shame that we’re missing the show.” 

Mountain laughs to himself, he shakes his head as he plants his last cucumber plant. “We can take a break, if you want.” 

Swiss stands up, wiping dirt off the knees of his jeans even though it’s a lost cause. He shakes his head. 

“It’s like one more batch. We might as well finish. The lake will be there when we’re done.” 

Mountain’s back screams in protest when he stands, but he knows Swiss is right. He knows if they go to the lake now–even if it is just to watch Cirrus attempt murder–they’ll never come back and the last batch of Sunshine’s favorite tomatoes will never make it into the ground. 

“You’re right.” 

“Usually am,” Swiss says with a smile. He slings his sweaty arm around Mountain’s shoulders, leans his head into Mountain’s. Horns knocking together as Mountain angles toward him. Swiss smells like sweat, and dirt and weed. Earthy in a way that makes Mountain want to crawl inside of that smell and live there.  

“Just, less talking to the plants this time, yeah? I do want to make it to the lake before winter.” 

Mountain sighs, tries to swallow a laugh. “Fine. But it’s your fault when we don’t have enough tomatoes.” 

Swiss rolls his eyes, breaking away from Mountain to pull open the greenhouse door and step into the oppressive heat. “I’m willing to risk it.”

next up: Skizz and Mumbo

now because those two dont interaact like at all from my knowledge i cant say much for sure, but i feel like the two of them would make a very fun team. with Skizz's impulsiveness and Mumbos redstone abilities i feel they could do some very fun stuff. I dont think theyd get very far but theyre here for a fun time, not a long time

Pearl and Tango

this one is kinda interesting. we have established that Pearl is crazy, we know that, but Tango is too just in a completely different way. Pearl doesnt beat around the bush much, she there and you know it. while Tango often works in the back seat in the middle of some crazy plot like Dare to Flare, Bet your life, or bringing a warden to the surface. combine these two and youd get some fun results.

Ren and Grian

first thing that came to mind: the dramatics. Grian is the known war starter and Ren is known roleplayer, do i need to make it obvious??? they would be SO fun to watch. Just by thinking about im upset that this isnt already a thing, god. I feel their shenanigans would be on par with the Bad Boys.

Cleo and Etho

if limited life taught us anything its that these two = divorce and im so here for that. this feels as if it be Cloe + Martyn Version 2. and considering and Etho on his own is a bit more pathetic then Martyn it would be very pitiful to watch. Cleo would be out girlbossing(as they do) and Etho would be struggling to do much, that or Etho would be also fine on his own but i think itd be better if he were a little pathetic yk

Scar and Bdubs

these two are impulsive idiots and would do nothing but enable each other and im so here for it. they would go on a million different mini mission in a single session. youd get whiplash from watching them. but i feel like this would make them either very dangerous or not threatening at all. who knows

Jimmy and Scott

flower husbands. what more do i have to say? Scott would be the pro player that he is while jimmy does nothing but get himself killed. theyd make an okay team is third life is anything to go by. i feel Scotts skills at the game and Jimmy's lack of would just balence themselves out a bit. who knows, maybe Jimmy would be the second one to die with a soulmate like Scott

Impulse and Martyn

a southlanders duo! these two were hilarious back in last life and they would be again. theyd make a pretty decent team i think. I mean these two were top two in limited life. theyd be a good mix of shenanigans and actual decent plays, a very good balance i think

and last but not least Gem and BigB

now this ones a thinker because Gem was only ever in one session of the game and did not once interact with BigB(if im remembering correctly) but going on assumptions i think these two would make a great team. first of all i think theyd be semi-wholesome. with Gems cottagecore vibes and BigBs general BigB-ness i think theyd be very cute. but also quite dangerous. Gem is a known PvPer (GeminiSlay!) and BigB makes his own good plays fairly often as well. Otherall very cute, but threatening team

- JJ chews on straws and coffee cup lids alot but she'll chew at her lips to the point they bleed if shes stressed and doesn't have a coffee cup or drink with a straw so Emily buys her drinks with straws when she notices JJ is stressed. As the chewing is subconscious JJ doesn't realise Emily is doing this, but Morgan does and he teases her So Much

- early on, when Emily had just joined the team JJ got in the habit of buying Emily a coffee in the morning because she is happy to wake up a little earlier than necessary to stop by her favourite coffee shop on the way to work and Emily doesn't ever wake up early enough to get the good coffee from the shops and is always slightly grouchy and tired when she gets in

- to repay her for this, Emily would buy JJ a coffee or snack in the late afternoon when she starts to get grouchy and tired

- they still do that now and its one of the ways their relationship is a perfect balence

- everyone else on the team noticed this exchange and its what started the betting pool of when they were going to actually get together

i think figure/gur (figur) (you know we have to call it figur) could be real but i need to see it. i KNOW how much a dre pc loves a npc romance. but it could also be so bad for them in the wrong circumstances…them being tied together ties them to clem in many ways still…they have such similar hurts. it is probably not great to finally gain freedom and then have a spider bound to you. but also i think they could understand each other. figure will definitely project on them a little as is their habit. i have to see the flirty quotient…well sometimes gur is just naturally like that.

i did mention this recently in replies but secretly though the figure ship i have been thinking about a lot this season is figure/thisbe. honestly it may be my largest ship this season. but i have been nervous to talk about it because the best thing about thisbe is that she does not see things the way others see them so it is a hard sell while still true to her character. but im not seeing things right. they like to rush into action together. figure wanted to know if she was being treated well and seems to have picked up on how she sees the world differently and will defer to her judgement. thisbe made a clock just for getting them away from clem and prioritized it for multiple missions. they are like a plant to her and now they have plants growing from them!! i think figure will be very grateful and may try to make it up to her and it will be cute and funny. this is thisbe’s weird little crewmate and she is going to hook them up to the blue channel irrigation system and provide them beneficial nutrients. this will be satisfying to her and they will feel very safe.

my friends are much better than me than talking about arbitred the hot new ship but it’s real. sending someone a digital ham slurper is real. when you don’t have a candidate because that’s so demeaning but you work closely with a weird little cyborg girl that’s not romance you know that’s just putting someone under a microscope and thinking they’re entertaining. it’s not like you feel the nonhuman equivalent of a satisfied rush when she sends you an emoji and talks about how successful the two of you are at selling contracts together. simply an incredibly beneficial business transaction. you are sending her five more ham slurpers and watching her say npc dialogue about this.

I want advice on how to properly study the French Revolution. Despite the presence of official sources from the contemporaries of the revolution period, you may find that the writer may tell lies about Robespierre or Saint-Just and others, and sometimes you may find books that do not convey the truth only because of the writer's bias towards his political ideas, as the writer may stand against Robespierre only because of his political orientation or his ideology in general without forgetting the emotional bias .. How can I study about the revolution without properly facing any kind of these problems .. because I'm new to frev community.

I can really relate to your struggle as I felt the same way when I started studying frev almost three years ago — everywhere I looked I found new claims which more often than not didn’t have a source attached to them, and this was made worse by the fact that it was clear the person writing very often did so less for the facts in themselves and more with the intention of convincing me how to think about a certain person or event. This just ended with me having some sort of minor crisis having no idea what was even real in the first place and what wasn’t. Now, there unfortunately exists no official ”proper” way on how to study history, everyone works differently. Likewise, it’s also impossible to study history without facing any sort of biases. That said, what cleared things for me personally was mainly getting hold of all the primary sources we have for Robespierre. Basically, the texts found within Oeuvres complètes de Robespierre, Papiers inédits trouves chez Robespierre, Saint-Just, Payan etc and Recueil des actes du comité de salut public are (with a few exceptions) the only things we can prove actually came from his brain. They are therefore the places where it’s most unlikely you’ll find any lies/biases/weird interpretations regarding him. I’ve already compiled these, along with several other primary sources, in this post, and @rbzpr has translated several of the texts found within them into English in case you don’t know French.

For contemporary descriptions, which I would argue are the sources that come in second place when it comes to learning about a historical person, you’re right in that balanced and three-dimensional ones are often really hard to find when it comes to Robespierre (and Saint-Just too I’m sure). This is because most descriptions we have of them were written not with the intention of giving a balenced and accurate picture of they were as people, but rather to convince its readers what good/bad guys they were. None of this does however mean that we should just ignore contemporary descriptions, they can still be an incredible historical source. What we do need to do is contextualize and critically analyze them before jumping to conclusions. A good way to do this would for example be to compare several contemporary descriptions in order to find similiarities and differences (that is what I tried to do in this post) and then critically think about and postulate on what the truth could be. If for example more than one person underlines a certain trait, then it is more likely for that to be true.

As for books, like I said before, you’ll never find any that doesn’t contain any sort of biases, no matter how neutral the author claims to have been. My own rule to avoid misinformation when it comes to books has basically become to not not trust anything that doesn’t have a source attached to it (so books that don’t use footnotes are pretty much wasted on me…). If you think that’s a bit too extreme, I would at least advice you to be cautious with sentences that start with ”It has been said that…” or ”An alleged story goes like…” because it’s not uncommon that will be followed by claims that might actually be apocryphal but hold themselves alive anyway just because no one bothers to check their origin properly.

If you were to ask me for just one book to read if you want to hear the Real Story in regards to Robespierre, without any biases in neither direction, I’d probably say Robespierre (2014) by Hervé Leuwers. When reading it, I never really get the feeling that the author particulary likes nor dislikes Robespierre, he’s just treating him like a normal person and telling his story as far as the primary sources allow him and without ever letting his own theories/ideas get the upper hand. However, I don’t know if it’s too advanced for someone who has just started studying frev (I myself got it when I had already studied it for about a year so idk). It’s also in French, which I don’t know if you know or not… The Robespierre biography that I’d say I found the most helpful when I was new to this was probably Robespierre (1935) by British historian J.M Thompson. While Thompson will give his opinion on things going on more than Leuwers does, it’s easy to tell what is fact and what is interpretation. His biography is also very rigorously sourced, and he has chosen to include and analyse almost every single one of Robespierre’s letters and bigger speeches.

If anyone has any other advice on how to best study frev without meeting too many biases, feel free to share!

Urgh your head felt like it was splitting open your legs felt like they were going to snap in half and your side burned.

It was quite obvious your case hadn't gone well you had ignored the others protests and snuck of to do a solo case you had made it back now at around 2am so hopefully no one would notice and you could clean yourself up and go to bed. But of course as you entered the house and walked past the living room you saw lockwood sitting in a chair arms folded ankle balenced over his knee. "hey" you said quietly not making eye contact even though you could feel his stare burning into the front of your face.

"why did you go alone?" "We all told you not to". He spoke smoothly standing up and walking over to you placing one hand under your chin and tilting it up to look into his dark eyes. "I'm sorry but I just wanted yo earn a little money and help that poor family before anyone else got hurt."

You had met the family their eldest son had been ghost locked and almost killed by an angry type two wraith you couldn't stand the thought of the family being forced to stay their and suffer so you had gone despite having no information and it all being rushed. This meant it was no surprise that there had been more than three angry type tows you had been thrown out a window gotten smashed onto a glass cabinet and fallen down several flights of stairs. You where very lucky not to have broken anything buy your entire body was sore and stiff and you didn't know if you could cope with being lectured right now. Seemingly sensing that lockwood grabbed a first aid kit that had been purposefully set on the table next to the couch and pulled you down next to him.

They seem very hurt I won't lecture them until tommorow I don't want them getting more stressed out I will just patch them up and get them to have some rest. From all the events tonight I know I won't sleep even though I'm exhausted I will have horrid nightmares of losing him I can't not tonight so I sleepily shake my head. Lockwood stands up gently but forcefully pulling me with him as I protest as we walk up the stairs u suddenly notice that we aren't in mh room but his. He walks over to his cabenit pulls out a soft grey sweatshirt and gently chucks it to me. "is this for me?" you ask confused.

"yes silly now since your insistent on not getting sleep you may aswell lay down with me since you and I both know its the nightmares that are stopping your sleep so maybe if your with me I can stop them." you blush a little as you pull on the shirt lockwood let's you change out of your trousers and pull on some of your sleeping shorts you left in here(he's let you in a couple times before)

"thank you Anthony" you say quietly as you settle next to him after you've both changed

"don't worry about it n/n I'm always here for you" he says before pulling you close as you relax and let yourself succumb to sleep as lockwood does aswell. Tommorow you will both fight over what happend and what you should and shouldn't be allowed to do but for now your both safe and have each other and that's all that matters.

Jazzie joined the exterminations with no proper reason why,yet no one questioned it, she didn't answer fully onto WHY exactly and heaven could care less axadently causing a scam to become a reality by continuing what they are doing, Jazzie doesn't exactly know how she got to heaven dispite her temper and her story on how she died and got to heaven isn't exactly clear of what she did as the living to the point that heaven would look through her temper.Jazzie is quite feared by most of the angels and sometimes feeling like the odds one out,due to how she looks she's mostly go in hell as a spy of sorts due to her looking more "hellish"(Jazzie honesty wants to hit them for saying that she already got discriminated on earth now heaven won't leave her alone ither?)) dispite being pissed at them she still aplyed with it as much as it bothers her deeply.

Charlene is a responsible yet childish at heart no one exactly sees Charlene as "responsible" in both life and death dispite showing multiple times she can handle things, she's basically babyed by the more higher ups then her as they practically see Charlene as more of a child then the rank she got herself up to, Charlene is a motherly and sisterly figure tords everyone showing good balence of hard work and play,sense Charlene is in heaven she's alot more playful and wimsy then she ever was back on earth, she tends to brake the rules of not heading back to earth to not only look for her son(because heaven says he's still alive yet not letting her use the orb that watches over everyone)) but to also gravitate God's attention due to him being a burnt out workaholic that works in an animation studio so if he's that focused on earth perhaps he can see her and not only help her but to help whatever is happening in heaven because things went wild ever since he worked.

Charlene and Jazzie are playful rivals and fight like sisters to the point everyone thought they were related,there not however Jazzie feels embarrassed to admit she actually does see Charlene as a sister even though they are rivals they still care very much about each other and would do anything to protect one another.

As for my opinion on the series so far?

I really really love Pokemon Horizons! from the first episode, it really pulled me in strong! The setting of an airship like the Asagi is wonderful and crazy endearing to me. I love the cast too! Liko's entire concept as a character is fantastic and she plays off of roy so well. I love how she narrates the story it's super endearing and really sets the tone well speaking of the tone, i love how horizons feels different from other anipoke. and i love other anipoke but i love this too! horizons has great set up, it does such a good job of forshadowing and keeping continutity so it feels like very episode plays right into each other even when nothing crazy important happens in that indiviual ep. if i have gripes, it would be... uh. hold on i need to think. um. im worried about balencing the scarlet violet chafacters so they dont take over the plot but so far its been alright.

I have less gripes and more fears? im worried they wont get a chance to finish the story well pacing wise and will have to cut it short or stretch it out. im worried the sv plot will come in and dominate the new horizons characters. i want to see the rest of the volteccers get full and expanded backstories (what we've started getting with Molly though is so gooddd i just hope it continues), but like... right now things seem good!

NOW! I have not seen episode 12 yet! once i do if i have any thoughts tho i will put them here! im super looking forward to it. but I'm waitin for subs!! the preview looked good tho, i love seeing everyone all together.

My biggest hope re horizons is seeing an expansion of the non traditional family dynamic that is the brave asagi crew. I like it! they're all each others family even if they dont have "set roles" or smthing.

seeing people leaving the dteam fandom talking about how they are ashamed of how much they centered their lives around it and how unhealthy it was, and im happy for them to be happier, but i cannot relate or understand at all. this is how i am with every fandom. its the symptoms. has been since i was little. when i was a little kid i wouldnt eat unless my parents made references to my intrests. like when i was a toddler they had to call everything coal rocks, because i was super into thomas the train. after that when it was bambi they had to say that line that the dad deer said about “how do you know you dont like it if you wont try it” and my dad had to do a funny voice and everything, even with food i knew i liked. when i liked ariel i needed them to call my food seaweed, and its also probably part of the reason seafood is still one of my favorite types of food. half of my current clothing is videogame merch bought from fangamer, most of it being undertale. id say i wear undertale merch at least three times a week which is saying something concidering how infrequently i do my laundry. i could identify probably any undertale song almost as soon as it starts playing. when i find music i like i listen to it for twelve hours a day for at least a month. the only reason my mcyt obsession was less healthy than any of my others is because i didnt fully take into account emotionally that theyre real people, even though i knew it logically. having a longterm “Normal” intrest is not an option for me, and even if it was itd probably be less healthy for me than what i currently do. i need hyperfixations to make up for the adhd dopamine deficit, and keep my brain at least semi-functional. i need special intrests for the comfort and familiarity. this isnt an option. glad for everyone whos gonna have a much more balenced life now but thats just not an option for me cant relate. im too disabled i guess lol. not upset with anyone whos saying things like that im just feeling sort of bad about it for RSD reasons probably and wanted to explain my obssesions. anywya glad to see the neurotypicals leaving can fandoms go back to being unapologetially weird and strange now lol ive seen way to many people talking about weirdos and freaks and making fun of executive dysfuntion issues. can we stop that now

A cautious "thumbs up" for Ozempic/Wegovy for weight loss.

There is a lot of nonsense about Ozempic/Wegovy (semaglutide) for managing hunger and loosing weight. If you have heard anything about it, it's probably that celebrities are taking it, that it works fast, that is might make your face look gaunt, old and that it is the "latest fad diet" this is pretty annoying since I don't think much of this is accurate.

My Story

I was not in the market for any kind of weight loss assistance until I shattered my leg two years ago. I was perfectly happy being fairly active, fat, and not stressed about diet or body image. But, breaking my leg changed my perspective: doing PR with so much weight was much harder than I anticipated, so hard that there was a good chance I might not really walk again. So, I started looking into diets and drugs to see if anything had improved since I'd last cared about such things.

Before semaglutide, the only effective drugs for weight loss were things like phentermine. Phentermine is ... well, it's pretty much meth. You can take it for three months and not be hungry and lose some weight, but then it stops working (unless you take more, but too much will give you a heart attack.) So meth-like drugs aren't a great solution. Nearly any other drug or over the counter "weight loss" pill is probably a scam.

Semaglutide is different. It works by reducing the rate that your stomach empties after you eat. So you stay full longer. This can also lead to nausea and strange tasting burps if your dose is too, high, which mine was initially. Semaglutide has been used for years to treat diabetes. Prescribing it for weight loss is new.

I told my doctor about my concerns about not making enough progress in physical therapy if I didn't reduce my weight. I told her about the diet journal I kept, and how I was worried that if I focused on food all the time my ED would come back. She got me signed up for the drug which is injectable. You take it once a week.

I tried my first dose and within hours I was not hungry at all. It was a little scary at first. I would forget to eat. That's not something I've ever done in my life. The stress of thinking about food was gone. And though I did feel a little nauseous for the first few days, soon I was loosing weight as a decent pace, without feeling obsessed with weighing myself and counting calories, without feeling wired on meth. I'm really happy with my progress.

My PR sessions started going much better after I was down 15 pounds, now that I'm down 40 pounds I'm taking up jogging again. I think I can find a new balence. I'm ambivalent about loosing weight. I'm over the moon about walking and having better mobility!

I don't feel like I look that different, which is a relief. I feel better and that's what matters.

This drug is currently kind of annoying to get since its in high demand. That shouldn't last forever. It probably isn't right for everyone. Read the message boards experiences vary. Mine has been particularly good.

Before going on a diet or using any diet aid think about what you are trying to get out of it. Your weight doesn't define who you are but for me it was getting in my way.

I'm not a totally new and different person, but I feel healthier and I can do more of the things that I want, and to me that makes it a good choice.
