I am at the point almost now where I am considering just... not following any people from the 'US' any more, unless I already know them and like them.
#i am tired.#us-ians have the worst takes and also the most takes. and also the Loudest takes. on g-d.#also can i just say re: mutual aid - i am noticing heavily that the maiority of mutual aid posts are from the 'us'#& also often other 'western' countries#& like. if we wanna comment on hierarchies and power dynamics#consider: why are the poorest people from 'third world' countries absent from such mutual aid sharings when arguably they need it the most#like. as someone from SEA whose currency is weaker than 'western' countries but whose dash is inundated with mutual aid posts from the 'US'#it's. sorry y'all but it literally costs a premium to mutual aid bc of currency exchange.#like i see folks mad about people buying tumblr checkmarks and not giving it to mutual aid & im like#on the other hand one could also very well say well why arent you giving to mutual aid in 'poorer' countries#when your currency is stronger and $1 USD would be worth idk 5x that in this other currency etc. etc.#u kno??
