#dat's me#cuz I just read a great hannigram fic#tho as usual I don't agree w/ the daemon choices even then it's so fun to read daemon aus#I think I've finally cracked what I think is the logic rule pullman follows!#it's: daemons embody what you're naturally best at... even if you wish you were best at something else#and the biggest/most handsome/impressive daemons belong to ppl who:#a) are amazing at [thing]#b) ~know they're best at [thing] and are happy with that/embrace it from an early age#c) most especially do [thing] for a higher cause.#eg: someone great at fighting [cat] + loves that fact [big cat] + fights for a greater good [showy] = snow leopard daemon#vs. someone good at fighting [cat] + ...wishes they could be best at sth else instead = will parry's domestic cat daemon
