I just started emulating Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, and within the last two days I am now on part 2. However, I've come here to discuss something else.

what if, after mav is grounded by cyclone and replaced as an instructor, he drives home to his base housing. he checks the mail out of habit more than anything else, and finds a small package addressed to him.

when he opens it, there's an envelope at the very top that simply says "Pete". Inside are a pair of golden wings, a perfect replica of the one he pounded into Ice's coffin not 24 hours earlier. They are accompanied by a slip of paper, upon which, Ice has written in his most elegant handwriting, "I'll be your wingman anytime."

(the rest of the box are a bunch of photos of ice and mav through the years. at the bottom, there's a note "found these in his desk drawer. love, sarah.")

You know how during Ices funeral Maverick took his own wings off, hammering them into the top of Ices casket with his fist, holding back tears?

Then when he’s at the Hard deck saying goodbye to Penny he magically has his wings back.

Yeah no

Those were Ices wings he wore into the final battle.

Pete Mitchell was ready to stare death in the face, having just lost his wingman and refusing to lose Bradley too. Fully well expecting for this to be his LAST mission.

What better way to go out than with his wingman with him for one last flight….pinned to his chest, overtop his heart, exactly where he was supposed to be.

I know I KNOW in my BONES that tommy is eventually going to leave after helping buck realize that eddie's the one he's in love with but god I hope we get at least a couple more episodes of buck and tommy together with tommy showing buck everything he's been missing. including more kisses. maybe even a make-out session. at the very least some implied fade out sex. show me buck getting to bask in this glow for a while longer before it gets complicated and hard to breathe again.

i got my isbn today for the book. 8 months to go. my mom and i were talking about what the next steps are. i was eating trail mix, standing on one foot, phone tucked into my ear.

"yeah," i said. "the problem is that tumblr as a market is like, not something that can be studied." there's this weird wave of nostalgia and affection for this place that came up over me: how lovely we avoid consumerism. okay, it sucks as a creator. but also? keep stickin' it to 'em.

my mother made the sound at the back of her throat that i also make, the one that means i've got an idea. "you should figure out some kind of reward for presale amounts. maybe you give out poems or a mug or a signed book or something. would your followers like that?" my mother is sweet, and kind, and i have no idea how to explain on this website you can buy someone crabs.

i put more m&ms down the hatch. i had to speak through peanuts and almonds. "if it passes 25 thousand i will print the book out in its entirety and eat it live on camera."

"oh god. no, you don't have to do that." she was anguished. "just tell them that you'd love them to read it, and that they've inspired you to write. you got started on that site, and they helped you keep going. raquel, you love these people. the community? you talk all the time about the other writers and artists and whatever else. tell them that you're hoping for their support, they'll come through."

"no," i assured her. i discovered i had dropped an m&m, but an ant had already found it, so it belonged to him now. i will let his little life have a surprise blue treasure in it, too. "i'm gonna fuckin' eat the book."

Here’s a tournament for characters whose secondary ability seems to be how quickly they adopt children. To qualify for this tournament, a character must have at least two kids who are not blood related. For the purposes of this poll, adoption does not have to be legal, it can be emotional, or even just a headcanon. We are all fans of found family here.

Submissions will stay open until October 23, 12 pm CST, or until I say otherwise!

So, you know how lanolin smells really nice to cats?

Well, Narinder is super standoffish after he's indoctrinated, but as time goes on, he finally starts putting some of his barriers down.

He sleeps in his own hut for a while, but he can't sleep well. He's not used to sleep. The Lamb only does it because "it's comforting" or something, but he hasn't done it in so long. So really, he's just been awake the whole time and increasingly cranky about it.

So Lamb, seeing him struggle to stay awake while working in the garden, pulls him over to their hut to talk out why he's not sleeping.

But Narinder starts dozing off within moments. Because Lamb's hut smells like them. Smells like their wool. Smells like lanolin.

And it's got him slumped on Lamb's couch, third eyelid partway over his squinted eyes, pupils blown wide as he purrs and sinks his claws into their cushions.

When he wakes up several hours later, he doesn't know what the hell happened.

Lamb simply smiles and sends him back home with a new blanket, made from a recent sheer.

Narinder calls the blanket gross.

He yowls like he's going to cause Armageddon if it goes missing.
