So the fic i'm currently writing is Miraculous Ladybug. I've been on/off watching it since like... around when it came out I think? But this like end of summer/fall I got reattatched. I've restrained myself from overloading this blog w my miraculous shit but if you're interested my miraculous side blog is @miraculouscryptid okay amyway ANYWAY

what im here to talk about is the miraculous fandom. now as we've found out recently I've been on here since 2011. I've been around. I used to cosplay. We all know I was big into homestuck. I've been around. I've seen the rise and fall of many, many fandoms whether tangentally or personally.

The way I describe my relationship with the miraculous fandom is if the fandom were a yard and everyone was playing in it, I'd be in a chair on the porch watching and smoking a blunt. (Honestly I have a whole fandom yard theory that i've thought about making a post about but that is Besides The Point)

In short, I love the miraculous fandom. They are, like every fandom, multifaceted and talented. I enjoy that we're all in it for the tropeyness of the entire thing, at least basically. It's fun to play in the space, and I think miraculous brings a fun space to play in. I think that's a lot of what's attractive about it, to the right people of course. When I talk about it to people who then say they might be interested, I usually warn them that they have to have a pretty high tolerance for kid's shows bullshit. I think I'm pretty fair in saying that.

But god what I'm getting at is. The drama is incredible in this fandom. People are literally fighting over four different ships that are the same two people, who are completely and utterly narratively aligned to end up together. It's bonkers. This year people were upset about the placement of one of the ships on the tumblr top 100 ships. A significant ship in the fandom is ladybugXone of the bat sons i forget which one. Recently a poly ship between the two main characters and one of the main chracters ex's became more signifigant because main character and ex both would rather die than live in a world without other main character.

I have no idea whats going on most of the time. Honestly, I don't want to engage with much of the fandom. I'm happy to watch from the sidelines with a few people I can shoot a funny, miraculous related thought to. I don't always agree with decisions the show makes. I don't think it's the best show in the world on any account.

But fuck I'm having fun playing in the space!!!!

Y'all I know that when so-called AI generates ridiculous results it's hilarious and I find it as funny as the next guy but I NEED y'all to remember that every single time an AI answer is generated it uses 5x as much energy as a conventional websearch and burns through 10 ml of water. FOR EVERY ANSWER. Each big llm is equal to 300,000 kiligrams of carbon dioxide emissions.

LLMs are killing the environment, and when we generate answers for the lolz we're still contributing to it.

Stop using it. Stop using it for a.n.y.t.h.i.n.g. We need to kill it.

the funniest meltdown ive ever had was in college when i got so overstimulated that i could Not speak, including over text. one of my friends was trying to talk me through it but i was solely using emojis because they were easier than trying to come up with words so he started using primarily emojis as well just to make things feel balanced. this was not the Most effective strategy... until. he tried to ask me "you okay?" but the way he chose to do that was by sending "👉🏼👌🏼❓" and i was so shocked by suddenly being asked if i was dtf that i was like WHAT???? WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY TO ME?????????? and thus was verbal again

when we were studying the bible in literature class (so we have the context necessary for later works that reference the bible), i think we were at the book of jonah, and one of my classmates was studying the text very intently, and then looked up and earnestly said "professor, i don't understand the will of god"

the teacher was just like. well sadly i am a literature teacher and not a priest so i can't help you there. but if it helps, many people throughout history had the same problem.
