If that is Billy Kaplan in Agatha All Along, they really said do not even try to introduce his love interest from the comics, aka Hulkling, while also write him with gay stereotypes in mind and have him be played by a non-Jewish actor (like mother like son I guess).
#agatha all along#billy kaplan#anti mcu#mcu critical#imagine going from eternals having gay rep to this#like i havent seen eternals but from what i heard it was better then this when it came to gay characters#like can't have his love interest debut in the mcu in any way but can bring him into the mcu as a gay stereotype???#though thats if that is him#if it is mcu just did more crimes with their takes on the young avengers basically#including more shitty casting seriously i know joe's doing a job#and he has yet to act like wanda's actress#but like what the fuck still

"If I turn around and there's a hero, vigilante, anti hero, villain, anything or anyone related in anyway to the Justice League, I'm going to fucking lose."
It was quiet for a second, then, "Don't turn around?"
Red fucking Robin. "What did I just say?" Phantom turned on his heel to face the young vigilante.
The kid threw his hands up, "I told you not to turn around!"
"And yet here we are," he crossed his arms. "The hell do you want?"
"You seem awfully snippy today."
"Seeing as you and everyone under the sun has been stalking me, trying to get answers to questions I'm not going to answer, I think you can excuse my attitude."
With a huff, Red Robin also crossed his arms. "How do you know what I'm going to ask if no one else has been able to talk to you?"
"Because living beings are all the same. Curiosity of the unknown drags you around by your ear." Phantom turned back to continue walking away, "Now go away."
The kid matched his pace. "No way,"
His eyebrow twitched ever so slightly. "I have a meeting soon, kid. You can't come along." That was a total lie. He had nothing going on that demanded his attention now that Constantine had ditched him after getting the demon under control. Maybe he could drop by Fawcett and visit Billy?
"No you don't." This damn kid-! "You've been wandering aimlessly for the past hour."
Phantom turned again to face the vigilante. "First of all, stalking people is hella creepy. Second of all, my schedule is none of your damn business."
"Careful there, kid," Red Robin smirked, "You'll get scolded for having a potty mouth."
"I'm thirty-fucking-eight!"
"You're literally fourteen."
Phantom closed his eyes. "Nocturn give me patience," he then looked Red Robin directly in the eye, "We've had this conversation. I'm dead. I don't physically age. That doesn't change the fact that I have walked this planted for thirty-eight years. Is that simple enough for you to understand or do I need to dumb it down for you?"
Red Robin blinked, his mouth agape. What? Did he just- The nerve! The audacity! "I'll have you know," he huffed, "I'm smarter than Batman."
"He tell you that himself?"
"Yes." It was one of the only times Batman had ever praised him, so that interaction was held particularly close.
Phantom looked Red Robin up and down, his expression reading both 'are-you-serious' and 'what-do-want?-a-medal?' Without a word, he turned back to his path and began his march anew. Any attempts at conversation from Red Robin was ignored, much to the younger's chagrin. Maybe he'd go away if he ignored him long enough.
Phantom and Red Robin wandered for the better part of an hour, not so much as a word passing between them. Neither stopped for any reason, and neither broke the set pace. It could almost be considered a friendly stroll through the city, if one ignored the slight apprehension surrounding the two.
Red Robin took this time to observe Phantom. He'd never spent too much time around anyone from the JLD who wasn't Raven, so he took the opportunity to get to know another on the team.
Phantom insisted that he was thirty-eight, not fourteen, and that the reason he looks as young as he does is because he looks like he did when he died. Not a comforting thought in the slightest. He knew that, though, when B had briefed him on all the members of or associated with the Justice League.
His powerset was almost completely unknown. They'd all seen him use a flight/levitation ability, as well as some form of density shifting and a healing factor, but Red Robin was more than sre that Phantom had more up his sleeve than that. He worked as a part of the JLD team, so he had to have some magical understanding or capabilities. But Raven wouldn't tell him if she knew, no matter how much he pestered her.
Looking at the kid now, Red Robin seriously wondered if Phantom had a civilian disguise. Ether white hair, toxic green eyes, the glow he seems to give off, and the contrasting bright white and vantablack suit and gloves he wore could not be easy to hide.
There was also a slight sense of unease Red Robin felt when looking at or being around Phantom for a long time. He hadn't noticed it before, but now it was as obvious as a neon sign. It was a strange mix of Uncanny Valley and sinking horror. Why was he feeling like this?
Phantom stopped in his tracks in a dead end alley. Without turning around he said, "Alright, spit it out. What do you want to ask?"
Red Robin hesitated for a moment. Surely it couldn't be that easy? Was Phantom really going to answer his questions? He shook his head to snap himself out of it.
"Come on, kid," Phantom pulled a piece of chalk from his front pocket. "I don't have all day."
Red Robin wanted to scoff because he most certainly did have all day. But, he pushed it aside. He was about to get answers that not even the Justice League could get! He decided to start of easy. "When did you die?"
"Try again." was the growled response.
"What?"
"I said 'Try again'."
Okay, okay. Touchy. "Why'd you join the Justice League?"
"I was bored." It was clipped. Phantom's on edge. Why?
"What're the rest of your powers? I know you have more than what you've shown everyone."
Phantom walked to the wall and started to draw a door on it with the chalk. "Next question."
Red Robin rolled his eyes. "Fine. How did you die?"
Every movement from Phantom froze. Every minute, involuntary twitch, even the telling signs of breathing. For a long minute, nothing happened and Red Robin had the dawning sense that he'd just asked something he really shouldn't have.
Phantom drew a circle in the rectangle he'd drawn on the wall, completing the door. "I'm going to give you a piece of advice that you seem to have completely glossed over." The piece of chalk was hidden away as he gripped the now 3D door handle. "If you value your life, don't ask the dead how they died." He opened the door and stepped through before looking back at the red clad vigilante. "They won't be so nice about it." Then, the door closed and the chalk erased itself.

Imagine Being Loved By Me
Pairing: Billy Washington (Trigger Point) x f!reader Warnings: Self deprecation, alcohol, mild angst, semi public smut, oral sex (m receiving) Word count: ~3.2k
Summary: Loose lips sink ships - a drunken night at the pub proves catastrophic for the secret fling she's been having with her best mate's brother. Based on this request.
Author's note: I don't have a tag list. Please follow @fics-by-ewanmitchellcrumbs and turn on post notifications. Community labels are for cops.
She lays cocooned on the sofa, enveloped in the soft warmth of fluffy throw blankets. The sounds of an episode of Eastenders playing on the TV fill the small space of her living room, yet her attention is focused solely on her phone, cradled in her palm as her thumb hovers over the screen.
“Come to the pub, not seen you for ages.” Reads the text message from her best mate, Lana.
It’s true, she has seen less of Lana over the last couple of months, the sole cause of that is due to Lana’s younger brother, Billy. She had never meant for it to happen.
After Billy had been pulled from his car in Cranstead Gardens, only for it to blow up mere moments later - a bomb planted by a right wing group called The Crusaders, attempting to frame Billy for an attack on anti-fascist protestors, Billy had been in a bad way. Already plagued by struggles of self worth and identity, he was now traumatised on top of it.
Supporting Billy through all of it had taken a toll on Lana. She’d taken time off work to care for her younger brother, making sure he went to his therapy sessions, sitting up with him when his night terrors got too much for him to bear, making sure he ate and took care of himself.
She’d seen how tired Lana was becoming, the dark circles under her eyes growing more prominent every time she saw her. Spending so much time looking after Billy, she was forgetting to look after herself. Stepping in, she’d lended her own support, wanting to ease the burden on her best friend.
Countless cups of tea were made by her, she’d cooked massive pasta bakes and pots of chilli, ensuring that both Lana and Billy had dinner every day. In her bid to support her friend, she’d unwittingly become part of her brother’s life too.
It was an afternoon a week after Lana had gone back to work, she’d continued to pop round to Billy’s each day as a favour to her, just to check in on him and make sure he wasn’t letting the flat get in too much of a state.
They had been standing side by side in the kitchen, her rolling a cigarette for both of them, while Billy made tea. Their fingers had brushed as he’d passed her mug with one hand, while taking his rollie from her with the other, and for the briefest of moments their eyes had locked.
She felt as though time had stood still as she stared into his big blue eyes, and suddenly tea and cigarettes were forgotten as their lips met in a frenzied rush of passion. He’d pushed her back against the kitchen side and she’d giggled against his lips as they’d sent empty beer cans and dirty cutlery clattering to the floor.
In response, he’d lifted her, her legs wrapping around his waist as he’d carried her to the bedroom. His breath had been heavy against her neck as he’d rutted hard into her against the rumpled bed sheets, while she’d stroked her fingers through his tousled sandy hair and whispered to him how good he was making her feel.
They’d laid there breathlessly afterwards and he’d made her swear not to tell Lana. It had made sense to her at the time, she’d thought it was a one off, and Lana would probably find it weird that her best friend and her younger brother had slept together.
But then it kept happening, and as time went on it felt more like a relationship than casual hooking up. Yet Billy continued to insist they kept it quiet, so she had, despite it seeming odd to her that they’d make a secret of something that clearly both made them happy.
And Billy did make her happy - most of the time. When things were good, they were really good; they’d spoon on his threadbare sofa, his laughter ruffling her hair as they watched reruns of The Simpsons. His large hand would always find its way up her top, wrapping around the dip in her waist, anchoring her to him.
When things were bad, they were awful. It would often happen after Billy’s weekly visits to the JobCentre to sign on, he’d come back petulant, closed off, in a place that was so far into his own mind that she couldn’t reach him. He’d lash out with angry words, filled with spite and vitriol if she tried to push him to open up, so she’d learned to retreat, to let him come to her.
Usually a day later, he’d reach back out and apologise, and things would be good again. Yet this time, a week had passed since she’d left Billy to his own devices and he hadn’t spoken to her at all.
She clicks away from Lana’s text, and onto her thread with her younger brother, faced with a stream of her own unanswered messages.
Fuck him.
If he doesn’t want to talk to her then perhaps her Friday night is better spent at the pub. She fires off a quick message to Lana, telling her she’ll be there in an hour before showering and getting herself ready.
The pavement is slick underfoot as she walks from her flat. It’s rained recently, and the smell of it hangs thick in the air, along with a brisk chill that causes her to pull her leather jacket tighter around herself, wishing she’d put on something warmer.
She pushes through the heavy barrier of the pub door, leaving behind the cold air, the smell of rain and the steady hum of traffic, for stifling warmth, the cloying scent of beer and raucous laughter.
Smiling when she spots Lana at a table in the corner, flanked by her mate and fellow EXPO, John, she heads over, taking a seat next to Lana and shrugs out of her jacket.
“Alright, stranger?” Lana looks warmly at her, eyes filled with familiar affection, “Mick’s just getting a round in.”
Her smile falters, stomach churning with disgust at the mention of Mick. He’s ex-military, a mutual friend of Joel and Lana. Since Joel had passed away in the Westhaven Estate bombing, he had latched onto Lana, and it made her skin crawl. She hated his arrogance and the way he always leered at her, he took cheap shots at Billy’s expense whenever he was around, despite repeatedly being told to stop.
“Great,” she says, the dullness of her tone not matching the enthusiasm of the word.
Before Lana can respond, Mick makes his way back over, four full pint glasses clutched tightly in his hands. He sets them down on the table, the motion sending lager foam dripping over the edges and onto the wood beneath.
“Lana mentioned you’d be dropping in,” Mick says, sliding a glass across to her, a trail of moisture spreading across the tabletop in its wake, “so I got you a pint.”
“Thanks,” she says with a tight smile, lifting the glass to her lips and taking a deep sip, focusing on how the bitter bubbles fizz against her tongue.
“Any time, gorgeous,” he fires back with a wink, and she grimaces, feeling as though she’ll bring the beer back up that she’s just swallowed.
She’s grateful when he takes a seat next to John and the two fall into conversation, leaving her and Lana to catch up. They talk about work and Lana’s excitement over Thom finally asking her to move in with him. It’s nice to be around her best friend again, how easily they slot back into place as though no time has passed. She feels guilty for not having made more time for Lana, being secretly kept preoccupied by Billy.
As if on cue, her phone buzzes and she pulls it out of her bag, seeing a text from him flash up on the screen. “were r u??”
She sighs, realising he’s likely turned up at her flat and seen she’s not home. It’s tempting to ignore him, considering he’s left her hanging for the last week, but she knows Billy, knows what he’s like, he’ll spiral if he doesn’t hear from her.
“At the pub.” She replies, then sends “With your sister.” as an afterthought, hoping it will deter him from turning up.
Putting her phone away, she continues drinking her pint and chatting with Lana, until Lana’s eyes move towards the door, brows raising in surprise.
“Here comes trouble,” she says, before taking a drink.
She turns, heart sinking as she sees Billy making his way unsteadily towards their table. His eyes are glazed, a pinkish hue is dusted across the bridge of his nose and cheekbones, the telltale signs he’s been drinking.
Mick looks up, raising his pint in greeting. “Billy! I’d offer you a drink, but I’ve not long gotten a round in. You can afford to get your own, right?”
“Mick, leave it,” Lana grits out, eyes narrowed.
“Sit down, Billy,” she says gently, pulling out the seat next to hers, “I’ll get you one.”
“I don’t need you!” He snaps, nostrils flaring and brow furrowing.
She flinches back, feeling her throat tighten, lowering her gaze to hide the hurt she feels.
Billy softens, shoulders sagging with shame, averting his own eyes. “Don’t need you to get me a drink,” he says quietly, “can get my own.”
She watches him weave through the crowded pub towards the bar, anxiety forming a pit within her stomach.
“Fuck’s sake,” she hears Lana mutter under her breath, turning to her. “I’m so sorry, had no idea he’d turn up.”
I did, she thinks to herself, but offers her friend a reassuring smile. “It’s alright, I don’t mind.”
Billy’s pint is already half drunk by the time he makes his way back to their table. He sets the glass heavily down on its surface, before slumping in the seat next to hers, fingers fidgeting with a beer mat.
“Still not working then, Billy?” Mick asks and she has to fight the urge to tell him to shut up, her grip tightening around the condensation coated outside of her pint glass.
“Starting an apprenticeship in two weeks, actually,” he says, shooting him a sideways glance, fingers continuing to spin the beer mat.
What? Why hadn’t he told her?
Her eyes widen in surprise, mouth opening to ask about it, closing it again upon realising it’s not her place, not publicly anyway. Thankfully, Lana is quick to step in.
“That’s brilliant news! Doing what?”
“Car mechanics,” Billy says. “Bloke at the JobCentre sorted me out with it, I start in two weeks.”
“Wow,” Lana says with a genuine smile, “I’m dead pleased for you, mate, know how much you enjoyed doing up your old Vauxhall.”
Billy nods, tapping the edge of the beer mat against the table, not looking directly at anyone. “Yeah, should hopefully have a job by the end of it.”
She takes a mouthful of lager, swirling it over her tongue, trying to distract herself from the sinking feeling in the pit of her stomach. She’s pleased for Billy, it would be cruel not to be, but she can’t deny the hurt she feels that this isn’t something he felt was worth sharing with her.
“Let’s hope this sticks, eh, mate?” Mick says with a smirk.
“What’s that supposed to mean?” Billy asks with a scowl.
Mick shrugs casually. “Seems like a good opportunity, would hate to see it go the same way as all your attempts to join the army.”
“Let’s keep it friendly, shall we?” John says uncomfortably, but is ignored by Mick.
“I’m just saying,” he continues, “hope another group of terrorists doesn’t come along and distract him. They teach you how to look for bombs while you’re fixing up the cars at this apprenticeship?”
“I said enough!” Lana shouts, slamming her pint glass down, eyes wide with fury.
The pub goes eerily silent, the Oasis song that’s playing on the jukebox and the scrape of Billy’s chair legs on the flagstone flooring are the only audible sounds as he stands abruptly, tossing the beer mat he’d been fiddling with onto the table.
“Going out for a fag,” he says sullenly, the chatter of surrounding tables gradually becoming louder as the shock of the sudden outburst wears of.
Billy walks out of the pub, head bowed, and she watches him go, her heart aching for him.
“Erm…think I’ll join him, actually,” she tells Lana, turning towards her, “could do with a smoke anyway. I’ll see if he’s alright.”
“Appreciate that, thank you,” Lana says, giving her hand a squeeze. “Think Mick and I need to have a little chat anyway,” her tone is suddenly stern, her gaze dark as she turns to face the man opposite her.
She nods, slipping her jacket back on and heads outside.
The shock of the cold night air hitting her skin causes her to draw in a sharp breath. It’s still damp outside and she worries that Billy might have gone home when she can’t immediately see him. It’s not until she walks along the road a short distance that she spots the glow of the end of a lit cigarette down an alleyway, the reddish hue dully illuminating Billy’s sharp features.
Wrapping her arms around herself, she walks towards him. “You should ignore Mick,” she says softly, standing in front of him, “he doesn’t know what he’s talking about.”
Billy exhales a plume of smoke, a hint of a sneer on his face as he draws his head back, staring at her through narrowed eyes. “Seems like he had the right of it to me. I’m a fuck up and almost got myself killed because of it.”
“You’re not, Billy,” she reassures him, “you were in a bad place. Those scumbags took advantage. Mick only takes the piss because he knows if he was in your position he wouldn’t be able to handle it.”
He sniffs, scowling slightly as he takes another drag, and she shifts from foot to foot, anxiously waiting for him to say something, anything.
She sighs when it becomes apparent he won’t, silently exhaling smoke, his brooding silence too much for her to bear. “Why didn’t you tell me about the apprenticeship?”
Billy swallows thickly, staring down at his trainers. “I was gonna, but then…then Becky text me.”
“Oh,” is all she’s able to get out, her skin growing heated despite how cold it is, as her heart lurches with painful jealousy.
She takes an involuntary step back, but Billy is quick to advance towards her, his free hand reaching for her. “No, not like that!” He says hastily. “I dunno what she wanted, actually. Messaged to ask how I was and I told her I was with you and not to contact me again.”
Her stomach flutters at his words.
Told her I was with you.
She can’t help the smile that tugs at the corners of her mouth. “And then what?”
“Then she said it wouldn’t last, she couldn’t imagine why someone like you would wanna be with someone like me.”
“And you believed her?”
He chucks his cigarette butt on the ground, crushing it underfoot. “I followed my therapist’s advice; cut ties with people who force you to question your self worth - blocked her number.”
Pride swells in her chest at his words and she reaches for his hand, giving it a reassuring squeeze.
“But it got me thinking,” he continues, “you deserve better than a few secret shags with your best mate’s waster brother.”
Her brow furrows, sadness making her feel heavy. “Is that why you’ve avoided me all week?”
Billy nods. “Yeah, just sorta wondered what the point of it all is, we have to keep it a secret anyway, and I’m just gonna fuck it up, same as I’ll do with this apprenticeship.”
She reaches up, cupping his face, fingers stroking over the scruff of his jawline, which is in desperate need of a shave. “Billy, it was your decision to keep us a secret. I’d tell everyone, given the choice. I’m not ashamed to be with you.”
His hands grasp her wrists, thumbs stroking the soft skin on the undersides. “Really?” He asks, his voice barely a whisper as he looks at her hopefully.
Leaning up, she kisses his lips, quick and chaste. “Really. Billy, you’re so good,” she leans up again, pressing her mouth to his more firmly, for longer, savouring the feeling of him kissing her back.
“So good to me,” she whispers, trailing her lips along his jaw and over his neck, smiling as she feels him shudder, his long fingers threading themselves into her hair.
“I’m so proud to be with you,” she tells him, sucking at his pulsepoint, earning a groan, which she feels the rumble of through his chest.
She reaches down, palming him through his jogging bottoms, feeling the rapid hardening of his cock through the cotton. “You’re gonna do so well at your apprenticeship, show everyone else just how good you are.”
His jaw goes slack, his grip on her hair tightening as he pulls her in for another kiss. It’s deep and heated, his breathing rapid as he tongue works against hers. He tastes of tobacco and Carling, yet to her there has never been anything more addictive.
Pulling away, his hands slip from her hair as she drops to her knees in front of him, not caring how the dampness of the concrete soaks into the material of her jeans.
“What are you doing?” Billy asks, lips parted in shock as he watches her tug at the waistband of his joggers and boxers, pulling them down just enough to free his erection. “Someone could see!”
“Then let them see, Billy,” she whispers huskily, eyes flitting up momentarily to meet the ocean blue wideness of his. “I told you I’m not ashamed to be with you.”
She licks the flushed pink tip of him, humming appreciatively at the sharp taste, grinning to herself as Billy hisses through his teeth, eyes screwed shut.
“Tastes so good,” she coos up at him, reveling in the sigh of the rapid rise and fall of his chest and the way he twitches against her palm.
Opening her mouth, she envelopes the length of him in its wet warmth, hollowing her cheeks as she bobs her head back and forth.
“Oh…fuck!” Billy all but chokes out, and she moans around him, speeding up her movements, pulling back each time the head of him knocks the back of her throat, stroking her hand up and down the base in tandem.
It is risky to do this so publicly, and yet it adds to the thrill; on her knees in a darkened alleyway for her man, showing him exactly what he’s worth, what he means to her.
Her core throbs with arousal, her movements becoming sloppy as Billy cups the back of her head, muscles tensing and his breathing becoming ragged. She can feel the tang of pre-cum against her tongue and knows he won’t last much longer.
She whines when he grips her hair, pulling her off of him and dragging his trousers back up.
“Why’d you do that? You were about to cum,” she huffs, rising to her feet.
“Exactly,” he says with a shrug, wrapping an arm around her shoulders, and guiding her out of the alley. “Wanna be inside you when I do that though, and I’d much rather be back at my girlfriend’s place to do that than down a fucking alley.”
She grins, wrapping an arm around his waist as they walk home.
Girlfriend.
She likes the sound of that.

I keep thinking about this photo and the way Miyoshi characterized them with their new, modern outfits so well.
Miyoshi has talked actually quite a bit about the character designs for the characters in this series, and it's very obvious how much thought and care was put into each of them--to the point of having Billy designed before chapter one.
And I think that's really reflective here, even in these normally impossible outfit choices.
Let's start with Louis: He's the only brother wearing color (blue jacket, orangey-brown boots), as William and Albert are both in head-to-toe neutrals. Louis has a lot of that, too, but Louis has this thing going on where...none...of his clothes...quite...go...together.
He's wearing what looks to be joggers??? With a very nice ribbed turtleneck sweater. Just wildly clashing formality levels here. And a nice hooded duffle jacket, which falls in a weird formality level between those two extremes and doesn't quite work with the turtleneck. A hooded jacket and turtleneck is, ah, not what one would consider a particularly "fashionable" choice. And then's he wearing what looks like hiking work boots. Those are not fashion boots, either, and they're not sneakers.
My point is, what even is this combo? He looks like he got dressed in the first things his hands grabbed out of the closet and then shoved the only pair of shoes by the door on his feet on his way out of the door--his pants are tucked into them, but lazily. The shoes have fake elastic laces, which look childish and are also lazy. He does not care.
And Louis has never been one for looks over practicality: he scarred his own face because it was expedient and useful. And yet there's a pop of color and life to him that his brothers and their mental issues don't quite have. A childishness to the rushed mismatch of things and the most casual clothes any of the brothers have.
William will be quicker, mostly because I already talked about the fact that's he's dressed like a beatnik, a subculture known for its focus on art, anti-commercialism, and equality. So. Yeah.
But William also looks a little like Louis in that he probably doesn't care much about his appearance: he probably has a closet just full of all black clothing he can always match and a neutral, plain trench with no adornment.
He's also dressed to attract as little attention as possible. He's attractive, of course, and his clothes look nice and fit well. But they're incredibly unremarkable, with no accessories or styling to them. No sparks of bright colors. Just there, fitting in, going unnoticed, much like his regular ol' suit in the main canon. If he dressed like Louis, it would attract attention by being different so he puts a little more effort in.
And last, Albert. Albert is the only one of his brothers wearing accessories: that scarf is a fashion scarf, not a functional one (for all that it seems a little chilly, as they're all wearing coats over what appear to be sweaters). He has gloves. I think I've seen those fashion booties in the Women's department. His collar is popped and his pants are cuffed.
But none of those are flashy, expensive accessories. He's not got a 2k dollar watch or cufflinks or furs or even any color. He's in neutrals just like William, and his clothes are rather plain. But the focus with him is on the way he wears them: he's put effort into the scarf and gloves and making sure those very closely fitting pants go OVER the boots and then cuffed them to show off the boots even though they don't appear long enough to need the cuffing for height (and he's mfing tall, like, finding pants for those legs must be hard enough). He looks nice, he looks fashionable and neat and well-cared for...but he doesn't look like a dandy. He's not trying to peacock around. It's a very subtle, classy way to look well-dressed without feeling like a misuse of funds or rubbing it in anyone's face.
None of Louis's items of clothing go together, but it's all very practical and it functions, and that's what matters, right?
All of William's clothing goes together because he bought the blandest items possible because he doesn't want to think about himself or have other people think about him. He's busy thinking about Math and Sherlock.
Albert wants to be classy and subtly fashionable without being an ostentatious asshole.
And it all just works really for their personalities, and I just love the attention and care put into things like that to make sure you can really feel and recognize the characters from a glance (like when Miyoshi was discussing the importance of giving William and Sherlock such distinct silhouettes despite being the same size and width).
It's a lot of work, and work well done, so I want to appreciate it all with you.

LAST TIME ON RANGER ACADEMY: Sage, Mathis, and Lindy are taking a little break from their demon-infested school to hang out with Sage's dad, who's way cooler and hotter and way less demon-infested. And as a bonus, turns out Tula had the same idea, so everyone got to be there for Rhianth's story hour, where we found out that ten years ago Dark Specter thought baby Sage was the perfect vessel for murdering with and caused the deaths of her biological parents and the shuttle Tula's sister was on, until Zilan sacrificed himself to cure Sage's possession with an anti-Dark Specter machine. And like all sad widows to Green Rangers do, Rhianth kept that machine all these years, so hey, maybe that could be helpful in the final fight against Dark Specter's return. We only have two issues left, after all; we gotta wrap this up!
It's Ranger Academy #11!
= Well, it's a device that's made specifically to defeat Dark Specter introduced in the final story arc, so................probably not
= I'm sorry, what do you mean friends NOW? Did Nugget mean NOTHING to you!!!!!!!!!!
= oh sweet they're really expanding on the Black campus
= Sorry to say it but Headmaster...if you don't survive your possession that's fine with me. Honestly I always kinda hated your vibes. Especially since I have......no idea who you are or how you came to be (like since she's possessed, we have to assume she's IN the tube like Zordon was rather than just transmitting herself via the tube like the guest Rangers? but like......WHY is she in the tube. They say she's connected to the Grid, but that's it. Zordon was kind of a special case, and even with the (frankly stupid imo) reveal that all Eltarians end up doing the face-in-tube thing, she's clearly not Eltarian. eh, maybe they'll explain it next issue. maybe
= Okay maybe the Bandorian Monks were playing the long game with not giving Lindy her own color yet. They knew Lindy would be the one to save us all
= Flirting like this when everyone's about to die GOD gay people are SO ANNOYING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
= I will say though this is more flirting and chemistry than Rocky and Adam had in Darkest Hour and I don't even know if they're supposed to be legit romantic
= Why don't you guys take some of that Morphin energy water and just spritz Dark Specter with it
= Imagine getting possessed because Dark Specter double-dog dared you to attack him
= also i have to laugh a bit at "a handful of professors and junior rangers were possessed" because yeah, just a reminder that we don't know anyone's fucking names
= Something they don't really elaborate on in this issue is how EXACTLY the machine works, or why you have to morph in order to use it, which is kind of another point in my "the machine won't actually do anything" theory. It's like how in Issue #100 Billy had that anti-Death Ranger gun out of nowhere that didn't do anything. "Chip, what anti-Death Ranger gun????" exactly
= I'm sure they'll be fine
= well shit
= QUICK SOMEONE GO INTO LABOR!!!! IT'S HOW WE GOT THEIR MOM TO STOP BEING EVIL IT'LL WORK FOR THEM TOO

Undead Unluck ch.224 thoughts
[FOUR MORE YEARS! FOUR MORE YEARS!]
(Contents: immediate reaction - excitement; narrative analysis - authorial intent; character analysis - Chikara/Luna; speculation - Luna/Ragnarok/UU)
WHAT'D I SAY?! WHAT'D I TELL YOU?!
FOUND OUT THE GOAL, BIG MOMENT FOR CHIKARA!!!
SET UP FOR ALL OF THE FIGHTS almost EXACTLY AS I PREDICTED!!!
Didn't see Yusai vs Justice coming and Julia/Tatiana aren't present for the fights yet, BUT EVERYTHING ELSE IS LINING UP!!!
If absolutely nothing else, this strongly indicates that we're at least making it to the anniversary, since Tozuka didn't specifically write in an excuse to skip everything like just breaking the Planets or something
In fact, the inclusion of the Planets not only draws things out on the basis that there's more to do, but explicitly removes available shortcuts
Authorial Intent
I said during the previous Ragnarok that the key to success this time around would be the addition of all of the members who were missing previously, such as Rip's ability to deal irreparable damage, and this chapter illustrated my point from back then perfectly
Not only is Latla's Untrust able to divert Sun's instakill attacks with ease, but Gina's Unchange and Void's Unavoidable create a combo that Sun needed to use Change to block
I'm not saying that Sun would have been defeated with that one attack, I'm sure he would have found another way to prevent it or retaliate afterwards, but the fact that he used Change at all is a tacit acknowledgment of the threat
Had Tozuka gone through with the final round of Quests, Change wouldn't be present here and Sun wouldn't have a way to neutralize Unchange, and consequently Sun would have taken serious damage. Instead, though, Sun now has a way to alter the properties of oncoming threats, retaliate with heavy weaponry, and presumably tap into the powers of all of the Master Rules in some way to counter anything the Union throws at him
In short, Sun is far stronger now than he was before. If the Union of today fought in L100's Ragnarok, it would be a short and anti-climactic battle, and that disparity was possible because Juiz took out all of the Master Rules previously. What many of us perceived as skipped content was, in actuality, a planned twist in the formula to raise the stakes and create a much more compelling conflict
Naturally, raising the stakes in turn also increases how impressive our cast can be as well
The GOAT
I tell ya, folks, when I saw Chikara stroll up with his hair pulled back into a ponytail, I nearly lost my damn mind. I've been saying for years that I wished he'd do that instead of the onion-cut, and boy do I feel stupid for not realizing Tozuka was saving it for a special occasion
Look at my boy. He's beautiful
And more importantly, like I said a few weeks ago, he's also the toughest son of a bitch on the team! He asked Billy to teach him superhearing, and our boy mastered it in a third of a year! Not only that, but he's standing up to God again, steady as a goddamn rock, no fear of what the literal sun is going to fire at him this time around
Sure, he doesn't remember getting his arm ripped clean off his shoulder, but that doesn't mean he's ignorant of what he's up against. Fuuko made it clear that every attack from Sun is a oneshot, but Chikara's ready, and not just because he's got fancy airpods in
No, the major difference between this time and their previous encounter isn't just that Chikara's expanded his interpretation of Unmove, but because this time he isn't alone
Andy and Juiz were getting ready to face off against Sun when Chikara waltzed up and said "I'll keep him from moving," and the other two (reasonably) figured they could focus on attack, turning their backs to Chikara. This left a perfect opening for Sun to fire off an attack from behind, a tactic that Creed had previously demonstrated to be available against Unmove, so they probably should have seen it coming
This time though, they were prepared. Chikara not only has Rip and Sean backing him up upon his arrival, but Andy and Fuuko themselves were ready to leap into action at a moment's notice to protect him from Luck and Death
In a manga all about teamwork and coordination, I don't think there's a single character who encapsulates the spirit of Friendship better than Chikara. Though he's never able to deal a finishing blow himself, he arguably carries the most important supporting role in the Union in basically every fight he's in. In turn, he's only able to provide that support thanks to the support he receives from everyone else, through training, equipment, protection, and faith. What he does for them, they do for him
Like I said, though, that's pretty much true for every member of the team, hence why everyone needed to be united in this Loop to have a chance at winning, Chikara is just a very good focal point for illustrating the concept because of how his ability works. No one member can shoulder everything alone, nor will anyone expect each other to. Everyone has a part to play, and everyone will do everything they can to see to it that they do. It's that interconnectedness that allows the Union to be as successful as they are
And that's the one thing that Luna just can't understand
Missing the Forest
Luna quite literally spends all of her time secluded from the world and the lives she helped create. She sits at her own Roundtable, clearly able to fit many people, with but a single chair and a cup of tea, only really interacting with anyone when they come to her
She's seen the power of humanity's bonds countless times, but she has no real concept of friendship or camaraderie because she's never personally experienced anything like it. Much like how it took Victor nearly 500 billion years to understand how much he loved Juiz because he didn't allow himself to feel attached to any of the lives he was constantly seeing end, Luna has never formed any attachment to the pawns on her side of the board, and thus can't conceptualize that they themselves have attachments to each other
This is what Fuuko means when she tells Luna that "[she doesn't] know a thing about us Negators];" in both instances, Luna takes what she sees at face value - Juiz died using Rebellion, and the man-made "Aegis" is really just a very big Unbreakable shield - and assumes that there's nothing more to it. Juiz's death supposedly took the strongest source of hatred out of the loop, and an Unbreakable shield can simply be pushed into the Earth like when Andy fought Sick
What she didn't know, though, was that Juiz's death stirred a change in Victor, and that the shield was just the setup for Chikara to stop Sun's attack without getting in harm's way. Luna couldn't foresee the ripple effects that any individual's actions or contributions would have for the rest of the team because she can only look at each of them as a single independent player rather than a cohesive whole
But strangely, I think she does know that she doesn't know how relationships work
The Missing Piece
Last week, when Luna started Ragnarok, she said something both cryptic and telling
I want you to show me the true value of the Rules, unknown to me
The Rules themselves are already a complex, interconnected system, wherein a change in any given Rule requires massive shifts from everything else to compensate, such as the loss of UMA Insect completely changing a forest landscape into a swamp to account for the ecological loss of important food sources, decomposers, pollinators, etc. The introduction of Negators, exceptions to the Rules, adds yet another layer of complexity to that web, as not only do those Negations interact with each Rule in a unique way, but each other as well
Luna obviously understands that basic idea, that the Negators are capable of working together, but she doesn't understand why, and that's what this is all about. I think she's trying to work out the exact mechanism of human interaction and relationship maintenance specifically because it's the one thing she knows she lacks
Her part of the wager with Sun was that humanity could reach the Gods, and I think what that means to her may be for humans to elevate themselves as a whole to literal divinity so that her empty little Roundtable won't be so empty anymore
This is likely why the three core Rules of the game are Soul, Death and Change; if humanity can change properly after death, then their souls can persist to achieve true immortality and godhood
And that's why Luna is willing to put Sun in the lead, to give him a power-up while the Union is unprepared. It's a gambit to force humanity into a position where they need to change and grow, whether it's to prevent their deaths or to survive their deaths. Either way, it was never really a wager with Sun; he was only ever a tool to create that circumstance
Rigged From the Start
Currently, Sun is trying to destroy the Earth's core (which may imply that the Earth itself is a UMA or a God, I think that'd be a fun little twist right at the end), presumably with the intention of creating one final Earth in the image that he wants, but given Luna's behavior, it seems likely that she always intended for this outcome to happen
Like I said last week, chances are very good that the Union will lose here so that we the audience can see what one or both of the ideal worlds of the Gods look like. This will allow for one final push from the Union to wrest that world from the Gods and create their own, showing how much better off humanity is in their own hands
Seeing Sun blasting through the surface of the Earth for hundreds of miles suggests that we'll first get to see him win, and all of the Negators will die in the process (likely excluding Andy, though it'd be wild if he somehow died too). However, because souls have already proven capable of exerting their will even without Rules like Ghost around, the Union and possibly all of humanity will come together to oust Sun's ideal world and take back control
The question is whether the world that results from this will be Luna's ideal or if they'll have to overcome and negate hers as well. Either way, I'm putting all of my bets on humanity doing what they do best and negating the rule that were only meant to be 101 rounds
Honestly, that would even make a perfect metaphor for the current real-life situation the story is in. So many of us thought the game was done last week, only for there to be a loophole and a second wind
After the End
Like I said last week, Tozuka's usual method of "one story beat per chapter" perfectly sets up the possibility that we're going to make it right up until the fifth anniversary, and this week's chapter fit perfectly with my prediction. However, it's entirely possible that that's exactly what he wants us to think
Even if every Master Rule fight goes exactly how I predicted, that doesn't mean that the final fights with Sun or Luna will, and the "climax" of the series that would be set on the anniversary might be the moment where Sun seems to win, only for it to turn out that there's still a few chapters left
It's common for Jump manga to get one or more special chapters in Jump GIGA or other magazines after their conclusions, either to wrap up the story or to give a little bonus, so I think it might be interesting if UU did a bait and switch by saving its real conclusion for that, though that would definitely kill the pacing
It might also be fun if it pulled a Bleach and ran normally but started numbering those chapters differently to highlight how things have changed, but again I'm not sure if Tozuka wants to be that extra with it
Assuming he wants to do things normally and has the blessing to go on a little longer, Tozuka is definitely capable of making UU last until at least May by breaking up each fight and event for three chapters each. In other words, whether Jump is rushing him out the door or letting him take his time, Tozuka is primed to end UU at a time when new blood is set to come in, so there doesn't seem to be any threat that it'll end abruptly between rounds
Considering that UU is getting a presentation at Jump Festa to discuss the Winter OVA and the dramatic boost in pre-order sales that the latest volume got thanks to this little scare, I doubt that Jump has given up on it just yet, and is likely to let Tozuka do what needs to be done to reach a satisfying conclusion
The main question is whether or not they'll continue to fund the anime, and I think the critical response to these coming months will be the deciding factor
It's easy for fans to come to the defense of a series they think is in trouble, but if they think it's just doing fine, then the suits may have something different to say on it. When future volumes, Blu-Rays, or whatever merch comes out, we can't just sit on our laurels and say we saved UU one time; we have to keep up the fight until the bell rings. If we're really lucky, the UU anime will keep going even after the manga ends and we'll get a complete adaptation like Demon Slayer, Hero Academy and likely Jujutsu Kaisen
Keep reading, keep watching, keep buying; whatever you can do to show Jump you love Undead Unluck, do it. I know I will
Until next time, let's enjoy life!

When 11 year old Mike Wheeler boarded the Hogwarts express with his best friend Will Byers, all he could think about was how happy being here made him.
Being a Wheeler meant his life was already laid before him: get sorted into Gryffindor, marry another pure blood witch, have kids with her and continue the family line of Gryffindors.
All his family had been Gryffindors, which meant that they were one of the most anti-Slytherin families in the whole Wizarding World.
That wasn't a problem for him though, because his best friend was going to be sorted into Hufflepuff like his brother and mother, Professor Joyce Byers. Although he could be sorted in Gryffindor, like his father, Lonnie Byers, an Auror. Lonnie had been a well known Auror but after a terrible accident, the man had become violent and abusive. Fortunately, in drunken ire, Lonnie had decided to run off into the Muggle world, never to be seen again.
While on the train ride, they met: Lucas Sinclair; a sweet Black boy, his friend Dustin Henderson; a curly-haired boy with an impish grin and a pet cat called Mews, El Hopper; a gentle and shy girl whose father, Jim Hopper, was head of the Gryffindor house; and Max Mayfield; a girl with a strong personality and hot temper that matched her red hair.
Will and Max quickly befriended each other and Mike would be lying if he said that their immediate friendship didn't make him a little jealous. So Mike would constantly try to pry Will's attention away from the girl, winning himself a snarky remark or two.
By the end of the ride, all of them had become an inseparable group of friends. Mike had found El, extremely charming but his favorite would always be Will; with his big hazel eyes, endearing bowl cut and warm demeanor, who could blame Mike.
As they entered The Great Hall, all the first years stared at the enchanted ceiling with awe and wonder, yet Mike only had eyes for the young Byers.
The Sorting began and Mike trembled with anticipation, even though he already knew what house he'd be sorted into.
"Byers, Will!" called Professor Hopper.
Will squealed with excitement and ran over to sit on the stool.
Mike gave Will a reassuring grin and suddenly someone caught his eye. A blonde young man stared at Will with a pair of cold, blue eyes. Mike didn't think much of it, since he was more interested in his best friends head being swallowed whole by the Sorting Hat.
A minute of silenced passed until the Sorting Hat yelled "Slytherin!"
Mike's eyes widened. Slytherin? How could the purest, most angelic being be sorted into the house of villains? Surely that must be some sort of mistake! Mike waited for the Sorting Hat to laugh and say, "Just kidding, Hufflepuff!" But no, no such thing happened. For a fleeting moment, Joyce's eyes met Mike's and he noticed the woman's confused state.
Will didn't seem to mind being sorted into that house, apparently, as he skipped towards his table being met with enthusiastic cheers and pats on the back. An older girl with dirty blonde hair whispered something to him and he giggled, whispering something back. He recognized the girl, her name was Robin Buckley and his sister would always complain about how annoying her jokes were and how she couldn't stand her.
The Sorting continued as if nothing were wrong, as if the Sorting Hat hadn't made a mistake! It infuriated Mike to no end how nobody was speaking up about Will. Not even his brother or mother.
Mike was sorted into Gryffindor (surprising no one), Lucas was too, El was sorted into Hufflepuff, Dustin into Ravenclaw and finally Max into Slytherin. Mike couldn't help but notice how Lucas deflated a bit when Max went to high-five Will, earning a hug from him and Robin. Billy Hargrove, a 4th year Slytherin with a nasty attitude and Max's stepbrother, smirked at them with disdain.
Mike fell asleep feeling something was terribly wrong. Will couldn't possibly be evil! He was such a nice and caring soul! Still, he was determined to not let Will being a Slytherin ruin their friendship, especially since they shared Potions and Herbology together.
Mike detested Potions and Professor Creel seemed to detest Mike even more.
"Well done, Mr. Byers! What a wonderful potion, indeed." Professor Creel patted a delighted Will on the back "10 points to Slytherin"
Max and Will cheered and Professor Creel smiled proudly. A smile that disappeared the moment he saw Mike's own potion.
"Mr Wheeler that isn't a potion, that's your mother's stew!" cackled Professor Creel "5 points from Gryffindor and Mr Sinclair that potion is going to explode any second now"
Both Lucas and Mike's potions, promptly exploded. Mike thought he heard Will snicker softly.
The months passed until finals were just around the corner. So The Party was sitting in the library studying.
"Will! Can't you tell your mom to go easy on our Transfiguration test?" asked Mike.
"No, you know how Mom is super strict about not showing favoritism to me and Jonathan." chided Will, straightening his green and silver tie.
Mike felt a pang of pain whenever he thought about the snake embroidered onto Will's cloak or the green and silver colors adorning his uniform.
"Anyways, are you going to come to the Quidditch match this Sunday? It's the final between Slytherin and Gryffindor!" Lucas interrupted popping up from behind them.
"Of course!" piped up Will "Personally, I think we're gonna win the cup this year. Billy is such a good seeker and Tommy is a menace as a Beater! Although Nancy is a brilliant keeper and Jason is a great Team Captain"
Mike really wasn't interested in Quidditch but since Will was going, he supposed he would too.
He went to the Quidditch match sticking close to El who wasn't interested in it either. They'd grown pretty close this past year and people, mainly Lucas, were insisting on how they both looked like a couple. Mike really didn't understand why they said that but he played along with it.
Max and Will sat next to each other laughing and cheering their team on, booing whenever Gryffindor scored and clapping when Tommy took down Gryffindor's Chaser with a Bludgeon to the ribs.
Mike's insides burned with jealousy. It was obvious Will had found a new best friend in Max but hopefully that wouldn't mean he'd stop wanting to be Mike's best friend.
#and that's it for the first year!!#its a bit boring bc mike is an eleven year old and they tend to not think much#plus it's only the beginning#pls tell me your thoughts and opinions#especially if something is ooc or grammatically incorrect#i wrote this with no beta while severely sleep deprived and running on pure caffeine#byler#byler brainrot#byler au#byler fanfic#harry potter byler au#will byers#mike wheeler#el hopper#lucas sinclair#max mayfield#byler fic#byler fics#byler fanfiction

words cannot describe how much i love fawfulydoo’s candyman before he got turned into candyman if that makes sense
oh boy henry where do i start 😓
Henry, you are the most jollyest, most jovial person i have ever laid my eyes upon. Your absolute whimsical personality causes innumerable amounts of serotonin to flood my brain. This may sound weird but i have almost all of fawfulydoo’s art of you in my candyman album, quite literally causing me to run out of storage (including the candyman art). Henry you do not understand how 𝒻𝓇ℯ𝒶𝓀𝓉𝒶𝓈𝓉𝒾𝒸𝒶𝓁 i want to get with you right now /j. Your funky yet fancy style makes me go “😍” but it’s only special when worn by you though. Everytime i see a drawing or anything that replicates you i start rolling around on the floor to try to release my happiness because if i don’t i’ll spontaneously discombobulate. Henry i cut out a drawing of you with the new curly hair design and taped it to the wall of my desk to stare at intensely.
You are the thorns to my rose, the pencil to my paper, the bullet to my gun and the gasoline to my fire.
Henry you are the most wonderful person i have ever EVER acknowledged in my whole life and you make me go
because of how wonderful you are. I bet your voice is super silly and whimsical and joyful and “hehehuhu” and all that pink and rainbows stuff. Henry.,,,., honey, my pookie bear. I have loved you ever since i first laid eyes on you. The way you hit the anti gravity ball with your cane to absolutely obliterate your opponent. Your dazzling button up, and those snazzy pants. I would do anything for you. I wish it were possible to freeze time so i would never have to watch you get taken by the tri government. You are so awesome sauce, and you are so coolio toolio. You are amazing playing lethal league, you’re a great player with an amazing cane, sometime i even call you my silly billy. I forever dread and weep, thinking of the day you will one day be experimented on. I would deplete my energy if it were the only thing that could give you an advantage on your opponents. You have given me so much joy, and heartbreak over the years (one year). I remember when you got snatched by the tri government and its like my heart got broken into a million pieces. But a tear still fell from my right eye when i watched you laugh in a transparent void (i don’t know any times he was happy with some sort context except for that gif of him crying laughing), because deep down, my hp deserved it. I just wanted you to return home and unmutate. Then allas, you did(n’t), my skrunkly skrungo (didn’t) came home and i rejoiced. 2023 was a hard year for us zude, but in 2024 you made history happen. You could be so whimsical in almost every situation and i couldn’t believe it. I was crying, crying a river even. and then my glorious pal yelled “DRAT!! I’M ALL OUTTA MEDS AND INSURANCE HASN’T APPROVED IT YET!!”
Not only have you changed your silly appearance (you still look silly)
but you’ve eternally changed my life.
And now you’ve got defeated again, but you’re still the silly, MY silly.
I love you pookie bear, my silly man, Henry. 😋❤️❤️
urghh i have homework to do what am i doing..
i don’t know if i want to tag fawfulydoo in this i’m scared can someone do it for me out of spite please
if fawfulydoo is tagged, sorry if this is weird fawful but henry is just so awesome saucr dude 😞

I just watched ben 10 2016 (I still didn't finish it tho) and honestly it's really not that horrible that people make it to be, I kinda see why people where underwhelmed by this reboot, I'm not saying it's the best ben 10 series but it's not that spectacular
so here's some of my honest thoughts of this show
things I actually like:
the animation is actually not that bad?? I have low expectations on this show and I'm expecting it to be as bad as the ppg 2016 and the transformation is actually well animated
I actually like ben's character a little, his character's actually consistent like it isn't ohh he's all nice now and actually chill out and it's actually back to being a gremlin in the next episode
gwen and grandpa max are just ok, I have nothing much to say about them, even though I'm sad that we don't get to see gwen with anodite powers
I really like kevin being anti ben he's my favorite kid antagonist
unpopular opinion but I like reboot! rex, and he's not massacred down cuz he's 10 here now and inexpensive compare to the og show where he's much older
things I don't like
the villains are pretty underwhelming, all of them are just there to be the villain of the week and they're not that memorable
they are pretty much reduced to zombozo into an off brand joker, billy billions is princess morbucks is just some generic mean rich villain, and the rest is just meh, I actually liked kevin 11
I'm sad that they didn't bring up ghostfreak
the main show's humor is wacky faces = funny, 2016 cn is in their "xD random" humor, but some jokes actually gave me a chuckle
I might add more since I haven't finished watching this show yet but overall this show is just a mehh, one of the reasons I keep watching this show because I actually liked ben and I would have dropped this show if ben's actually annoying
#ben 10#ben 10 reboot#ben 10 2016#ben 10 review#text post#review#I wanna do something different#since I've been watching shows lately#and I've always wanted to review stuffs

New Ask Game for Writers 🪷
Very low-pressure rules: Tell me which fic of yours was the most fun to write (if you want to). Like, which one did you have a blast writing? Feel free to share, to rec, to tell us WHY they were fun, etc.
tagged by the amazing @bigdumbbambieyes!
It was a lot harder to come up with an answer for this question than I expected. I have a lot of fun with everything I write, but some fics are more challenging than others. Doesn't make them less fun for me, though and the challenge can be it's own type of fun.
lol so I had to tell myself to stop overthinking it, and surprising even myself I am going with my Harringrove Hannibal AU: He Who Holds The Devil. I love NBC's Hannibal and little plot bunnies for a Harringrove exploration of that narrative had been hopping around in my head for awhile. It's dark subject matter, a serial killer falling in love with an FBI agent and seducing them into the dark...but man is it DELICIOUS! The show lends itself really well to the Stranger Things Universe due to the way it uses magical realism to explore its characters psyche but I'm not gonna lie, writing was tough.
It was challenging because I had to find the right tone so that it felt like the show (Hannibal) which is steeped in prose and is very cerebral, but also make sure it still felt like Stranger Things. I also discovered for myself how difficult it is to give the devil a love story. Violence and death at every turn, but somehow you're still invested in whether they will or they won't find their way to each other.
I loved writing Steve as the wolf in sheep's clothing. A deeply flawed anti-hero who desperately hates himself and is just as desperately trying not to be a total piece of shit. He's an unhealed victim. Broken bad. He's games the system. He toes a line and pretends at a moral code he abandoned years ago. A manipulator, but not yet a predator. He hates that he wants to be.
And I will tell you right now, Billy begs for a chance to be written as THE WORST and still somehow the one character you want to win. The fun I had with this. Hehe I literally stop what I am doing once a day to jot down some little thought I had for the sequel because Billy this way is just SO GOOD. The things he does, and the lengths he's willing to go to purely for the pleasure of doing it had to be horrifying, while also maintaining his humanity. What's more, I had to figure out ways to make the reader question everyone else's humanity - whether or not he's right and we all might just be a little bit monstrous. I live for philosophical debates on morality so this was like a huge playground for me.
So yeah, I got to write Billy and Steve at their worst and most unhinged, while still being absolutely INSANE for each other, and it was a great time.
This was also my first big bang project and I got partnered with two great artists, and @robthegoodfellow came in clutch as a beta reader. And honestly, getting to chat with them, and also everyone on the discord was so enriching on top of being fun. Being able to share the experience with others as I tackled my fear of big bangs was amazing.

Finally we've arrived at 52, the series that turned me from a casual reader of a few comics into a full-on DC fan and Question enthusiast. This is the reason I set out on this project in the first place. I love it so much.
#1
This is my fifth time reading this in full, I think, and I still get hyped at this opening issue. Look at my guys.
It's a miracle this came together as well as it did. The omnibus is great for giving some insight into that construction process.
#2
There's just so much in 52 and I can't believe they pulled it off. Part of that is that it's thematically coherent, despite how different the plots are. Grief, reinvention, self-destruction as a means to cope with loss... it all feeds into itself.
In a slightly different timeline I came out of 52 fixated on Booster Gold and stumbled back into the Question later through Blue Beetle, instead of the other way around.
It took 416 issues but they're interacting! They're together! It's paying off!
Renee's heartbreaking spiral into self-destruction is interrupted by this massive dork. I love them.
#3
I really need to read Steel. Captivated by these two.
Skeets nudging the gyro cart owner out of the way is a very good panel. Catlike behavior.
#4
Booster and Bea's conversation is so. Hhh.
In the omnibus, Mark Waid calls Vic and Renee's scene "one of the high points of the entire series", and I'm with him.
#5
Renee and Maggie...
The metahuman hospital's a really cool piece of worldbuilding.
The only plotline I don't care much about is the spaceguys. I still like them, but the bar's really high here and I want to see other characters more.
Wish this was less creepy about Starfire.
#6
Kind of obsessed with Bob the theatre teacher and villain-for-hire, conceptually.
It takes a while for the Black Adam plot to pick up steam so this part isn't quite hitting yet.
Booster having a normal one.
#7
Renee hasn't talked to her mom in three years by this point. Oof.
The exes of all time!
Booster... Ralph blaming him for Ted's death is brutal.
#8
Oh cmon girl you're smarter than this. It's Lex Luthor, when has he ever had anyone's best interests at heart.
At least Ollie's still doing his thing.
Clark hating Booster is so good.
#9
"Smart-ass." "Consistency is everything." He is so annoying!
The John and Natasha fight is great.
#10
Clark taking a page from Lois' book is so good. Ridiculous.
I like Will and Professor Morrow a lot, nice that they're back in focus.
Supernova time :)
#11
His anti-smoking rant...
"I don't owe you anything." Oof ouch my soul.
Big talk here from a guy who spent a decade hung up on Myra.
The one superheroine ass shot I respect is in the "that's a Batwoman" panel because Renee deserves to appreciate Kate's ass.
#12
Besties moment.
Black Adam's plotline is gaining speed.
Oh Ralph.
#13
Oh NO, Ralph.
#14
They both look so good here. Love his stubble.
Desperately want to hear Tot's side of their conversation, and also their previous phone calls, because I'm sure he'd have Opinions about Vic deciding to become a mentor.
Shaking him. You are so annoying!
"There's no such thing as crazy, just behaviour that society has deemed unacceptable." SO true bestie.
#15
BOOSTER...
#16
Oh god, Renee.
Billy officiating Black Adam's wedding is very sweet.
#17
Luthor's superteam is one of the series highlights.
Still very funny that there's just a guy named Hannibal on it. Zero subtlety here.
Oh Lobo. I do not care about you.
#18
He's so silly.
Renee is having truly awful time falling back into old coping measures and he's out here getting scooped and being made fun of for cockblocking.
Booster's shitty funeral still fucks me up. Choosing to believe Skeets intentionally didn't invite people for evil reasons because the idea nobody showed up is too much.
Once again, oh no Ralph.
#18/2
A backup with Vic's origins. It's about right, though I prefer him starting as the Question before moving back to Hub City.
It lists his "essential storylines" as Mysterious Suspense, The Question 1987, and Cry for Blood, which I mostly agree with. Mysterious Suspense is less important but reading a pre-DC story is useful background for the 87 run and it's his only solo option.

Pssst hey, tell me about your take on the old man 👀 ya know who I mean
Also!! I would really like to know about Camille and how she came to meet Billy/how she realized she had feelings for him and vice versa😄
Omg... hello. First of all, love the work that you did for the old man community yk yk but you were truly The First. Thank you so much for inspiring me ough <3333 fair warning this is gonna be LOOOOOONG
About my old crusty man.... Well the lore is a bit complicated now cause I kinda developed two stories for him with the same characters more or less, but with different circumstances. Both of these stories are being written and made into fanfiction that you can read on ao3!!
So give me coffee and tv- the og plotline, first written as a yn x DILF!Billy fic, however after I had written the third chapter I realized I was basically writing for an OC at that point, so I developed Camille as a character and slightly revamped the fic, as well finished the fourth chapter with her as the protagonist. (the og second person perspective version of the fic can also be read here ).
In summary, Camille Morrison is a recently divorced middle aged artist who moves to the outskirts of a new town next to a forest, with her only neighbor being the Moaner himself. He has been more or less rehabilitated, but that doesn't mean he stopped with the phone calls. He uses them to "cope". And of course he just had to call Camille to try and drive her away, cause he still can't stand having people too close to him (they live 15 minutes away from each other </3). But Camille confronts him, and a sort of mutual respect begins to form, then a quiet friendship, but because of their combined loneliness it quickly develops into something more for the both of them. In the hiatus I had while revamping and writting the fourth chapter of So give me coffee and tv I also was talking to my mutuals a lot and questions about how DILF! Billy would act if he were an Actual DILF came up a lot. What I mean by that is, what would have happened if he had a child of his own. And so I started exploring the logical conclusions of the premise, and started thinking about what would have happened if Camille and Billy met when they were younger and somehow by chance had a child. And that child became Bean!!! I love her so much she's a little silly <333 (huge thanks for the development of this this story goes out to @lycanthropiclykoi, beloved mutual)
Rats in the shadows - The baby au of So give me coffee and tv basically. au of an au </3. Story told non-chronologically, it follows the life of and relationship of Billy and Camille and their daughter Bean. A more experimental work, in it Billy and Camille met while Camille was living in the sorority (in sgmcatv she didn't live even close to the same town during college, though in both timelines she is a painting major), After some growing pains (he wanted to kill her when they first met </3) the two of them come to terms with each other and eventually fall in love and move in together. However at one point Camille becomes pregnant, and Billy leaves her, as he fears that he will either hurt her or the baby. Pretty angsty but occasionally fluffy, especially when Bean starts to grow up into something more than a baby. Agnes is there. Brahms Heelshire is there. I am currently focusing on this fic, while sgmcatv is on hiatus atm.
As for the characterization of my old man, it is slightly different between timelines, though rits hasn't touched on him as a middle aged man just yet. So I'll focus on the sgmcatv version. Set twenty years after the movie, Billy spent a good few years after the murders in a psych ward, getting slowly rehabilitated until he made his way into a halfway house, then was deemed fit to live on his own. He is still obligated to attend therapy though, and is kept on a nice cocktail of mood stabilizers, anti psychotics and back pain medication. Works as a projectionist at a local cinema in the town he lives in. Spend a lot of time traveling with by bus or waiting for the bus, given that he lives in a very small cabin in the woods and can't drive a car. Blind as a bat, and dresses like a nerd most of the time. Has adopted six cats, which you can learn more about here. Loves them all to bits and definitely doesn't play favorites, no way! Thrift stores are his favorite place on earth, though going there doesn't help his slight hoarder tendencies. Doesn't like people that much still, but puts up with them most of the time. Very lonely, and likes to call people still partially to get let his built frustrations out onto them, partially to hear the voice of another person. Hes just a creepy middle aged man.
His and Camille's relationship definitely changes depending on the timeline. In short, in sgmcatv their relationship definitely began with a rocky start given that he started harassing her quickly after he saw her walking close to his house, however when she told him to quit it and fuck off to his face he started developing a respect for her. It also helped that after that encounter Camille treated him with respect and kindness. Kindness in general, as well as empathy are some of the defining characteristics of Camille's personality, and without that, they wouldn't be able to get along no matter the timeline. And they started hanging out, being neighborly, finding similar interests. Both of them are very lonely at this point of their lives of course, and it isn't hard for them to start developing feelings and getting horny for each other. Camille has realized by this point of the story I think that she has feelings for him, but she is waiting for the friendship to develop more and is trying to see if Lenz would be a good fit for her, especially since the scars of her divorce haven't cooled off yet. She has enough experience now that she knows rushing into things isn't good usually, though a part of her is pretty confident in knowing what she wants, and Billy does fit her type in a way. Only time will tell how the relationship will develop further ( I haven't written anything else yet </3) In rits it is so balls to the walls chaotic. Sgmcatv has a more stable and healthy ground for the relationship to develop from given that Billy has already seeked help and is honestly doing better than ever, while in rits Camille meets him in the middle of the worst period of his life and also unfortunately, he has a crush on her </3 She needs to beat him up and knock him out with a broom when they first meet. At least he doesn't kill any of the girls in the sorority... The early stages of their relationship aren't expanded up on that much just yet, though I can assure you it involves lots of weed to sedate him </3/j but it all gets sorted out relatively okay for the both of them. By spring I think they will be friends, and Billy starts respecting her more. How she develops and realizes these feelings is still a bit spoilery as I haven't touched on it yet in the fic, but they really do fall in love hard. And when he left it hurt the both of them. He just... didn't trust himself enough to be a father. He starts more seriously going to therapy during this time period, and Camille knows he never truly left. He still visit her at night when she sleeps, and after Bean is born he visits her as well. That's where we are basically for now...
As for Bean she is well... a little bean. Just a little guy. Likes tardigrades and microscopic animals. Loves her mama and that strange shadowy figure that watches over her during the night. Sometimes she is so much like her father it makes her mothers heart hurt. She's just vibing... for now at least... That's it in summary, of course theres more information in the fanfics, and a lot of things will be expanded upon in both aus. Hehehe thank you so much for asking about Billy, and Camille and everything else though. I really love talking about these two stories I have, at any chance I get really!!! I hope you have a good day!!!
