The Acolyte is one of the most deeply unsatisfying, poorly-written messes of a show I've seen in a long time.
(Well, since, Ahsoka. But even then, I gave that more of a pass since I never watched Rebels or Clone Wars, whichever show that followed on from. It was just dull.)
But this was just pointless and messy. Repetive but riddled with plotholes. Wasted characters. Inconsistent characterisation and motivations. Bland direction. Uninspired dialogue. Okay fight choreo but not worth sitting through the show.
And I like all the actors too! In previous work. But whether due to the bad scripts or bad directing, even the actor was so monotone and dead-eyed.
I don't know. I see some people liked it and good for them, I guess. But jeez....
180 million US dollars for this?
