After Ms Briar announces that she, Carmine, and Kieran will be returning to Blueberry Academy, and after Carmine runs off to pack, Scarlett scrambles to find some paper and a pen.

Hi Kieran, I'm sorry we didn't get a chance to say goodbye in person! I hope you start feeling better soon. I haven't forgotten the plans we made - because I imagine that, while they were traversing Kitakami and Scarlett was learning all about Kieran's home, she was probably telling him about places in Paldea she'd like to invite him, and asking if he's spent a lot of time on the Unova mainland, because there's some places there she'd love to show off if he hasn't been - but Carmine said I should come visit Blueberry Academy sometime, too! And I'll definitely want to see you around when I do! And maybe sneak away for Casteliacones - I want to pay you back for the candy apple. Love from your friend, Scarlett.

And she goes to his house and asks his grandpa if he would please give Kieran this letter - because Scarlett might be a well-intentioned wrecking ball but even she can gather that it probably wouldn't help if she goes barging in and pounding on Kieran's door and yelling goodbye through the door.

Grandpa takes the letter and knocks on Kieran's door and, though he gets no response, tells Kieran that his friend Scarlett dropped by, and she wanted to give him this letter, and she says she'll be hanging around town if he wants to see her before he leaves but he doesn't have to, and he slips the paper under the door.

Kieran takes the paper and without reading any of it, crumples it up and throws it at the wastebasket. It misses entirely and lands under the bed, but Kieran has already turned away. After he leaves, his grandparents aren't in his room enough to go cleaning under the bed, and the letter remains there, undisturbed, forgotten.
