So ive decided to restart my Pikmin playthrough in favor of moving it to my Desktop rather than have it on my laptop.

So, i will be playing Pikmin 1 on GameCube via legitament means, why not choose the Wii Version? Well, mainly because im unsure as to how to properly connect the Wii Remote to the PC and do all the things necessary, but also because i'd rather not exert myself in trying to figure all that out tbh. But i do know that Pikmin's Wii version has some QoL improvements such as being able to switch color pikmin on the move. I also do understand the Switch version is cheaper but... iunno.

However, besides all that, back to the main topic at hand, i have a battle strategy as to how to approach the game now.

Day 1

Obtain enough Red Pikmin that are obtainable, then complete the tutorial.

Day 2

Go to The Forest's Navel and get the Yellow Pikmin, but also amass enough Red Pikmin using the red pellets and smallest bulborbs nearby the Red Onion.

Once having reached a sufficent amount, fight the biggest bulborbs but also open the passage to the Yellow Onion.

Fight the final big Bulborb then approach Yellow Onion to obtain my first Yellow Pikmin.

Then amass enough yellow Pikmin to pick up the defeated Bulborbs to feed to the Onion to amass a sufficent amount of Yellow Pikmin.

Day 3

Resume exploration at Forest of Hope.

Perform demolitions with the Yellow Pikmins and obtain the Extraordinary Bolt (to gain access to Forest's Navel for Blue Pikmin) & Radar (for being able to see Treasure on the Map).

Day 2 might mesh into Day 3 depending upon how Day 2 goes considering its 13:30 per day.

And hopefully by Day 4, i will be able to get Blue Pikmin at the Forest Navel, which will open access to the rest of the areas in Forest of Hope.

Day 4

Be at Forest's Navel and do all the things i can do with Blue Pikmin's, although mainly probably just amassing Blues.

Day 5

Return to Forest of Hope to obtain the rest of the items that are there now using the Blue Pikmin.

Granted, i dont spend Day 5 in Forest's Navel again if there are things that are interesting there (like ship parts). Or if I had lost a bunch of Blue Pikmin and i wanted to replenish my troops.

Summary

It may be a bit messy, i might lose a few Pikmin, honestly i might mess up horribly, but what i do know is that there are only 3 Pikmin Types to obtain, and once i have access to all of them, im pretty much open to explore and collect the ship components i need. I also have 5 to 6 hours to complete the game because its a very short game but with lots of replayability. I want to get all the ship parts and aid the Pikmin in surviving.

Something else i want to do is save the second ship part thats at the Impact Site for last, if thats an option.

I know there are:

2 Ship Parts at Impact Site (First is obtained for the Tutorial)

8 Ship Parts at The Forest of Hope (Some are locked off and can only be accessed with Blue Pikmin, but Extraordinary Bolt & Radar, mainly Extraordinary Bolt, as it grants me access to Forest Navel which then lets me obtain Blue Pikmin)

9 Ship Parts at The Forest's Navel (from what i recall seeing on Day 6 there, was a lot of those Flamethrower Creatures, whifh means ill most likely need Red Pikmin with me as i do reconnaissance and then some mushroom creature, which i think is very bad news for my Pikmin if i am not careful).

So if anything, that means there is 17 Ship Parts to collect in total for the first two exploration areas. Which likely means I'll probably be spending quite some time there before i go anywhere else.

Anyway, i now conclude this blog with this.

I dont know where i got this, i think it was from the pikmin subreddit. Regardless, i found it very silly, and i just love animation intended for humanoid models applied to models that are not of the humanoid shape.

ADDENDUM (updated at 12:06 PM 9/5/2024)

If i am unsuccessful with Day 2 in obtaining enough Yellow Pikmin and i go into Day 3 with not enough Y. Pikmin, i will most likely instead perform a B-Line for the Extraordinary Bolt instead and save the Radar for later if i have enough time to do so. As Bulborb's are weak in the back, i will need to be "stealthy" in my approach and hope i do not lose all too much pikmin on Day 2 nor spend too much running back and forth to amass more Pikmin/replenish Pikmin lost in battle.

I think the only "time wasters" that are to be concerned about are losing Pikmin while tackling Bulborbs & the Walls that you have to break down with sheer numbers and the bomb walls, which sometimes just take a lot of bombs to bust down which is sorta annoying.

The First Day of School

It was a dewy morning. Not too hot, not too cold, far too humid. It was the usual for Hyakkou High School, where students came to learn and excel in their studies while maintaining good social relationships. The school was usually filled with many different students. Any stereotype you could think of, Hyakkou had it. 

The students usually had fun. The Principal was quite lax when it came to certain things. All he asked of the students was to respect each other and respect the building. And to keep their grades up of course. They would be failing as a school if the students weren’t receiving the proper education!

And this is where their story begins.

“Ack. Hey! Mary!” Ryota called out from behind the blonde, who was currently looking down on her phone. The boy ran up to his best friend, hooking his arm around the back of her neck to bring her into a headlock. “Hey! Don’t mess up my hair you dork!” Mary growled, trying to wrestle her way out of Ryota’s lock.

The two continued their conundrum until they reached the gates of the school, where Mary finally got a good grip and threw her friend over her shoulder, thus leading to him falling on his backpack. “Ow…,” he muttered, smiling like an idiot.

Mary Saotome and Ryota Suzui had been friends since childhood. They were even neighbors, and she often came over to his house to play on his Wii with him. Their friendship had blossomed into a relationship.

Until they realized they were better off as best friends. In fact, after they had broken up and continued to be platonic, it seemed as though their friendship grew stronger.

“Hi guys!” The two heard a familiar voice, registering it as their other best friend, Yumeko Jabami. Yumeko had met them all in middle school, when she had moved here with her sister. The ravenette was one to take risks, and found pleasure in dangerous things. Of course, only in moderation. In reality, the only things she had taken much risk for was a move in a fighting game. Or a board game.

Her bubbly exterior was often in place of her mellow interior. She tended to keep to herself truly, unless with her friends.

“Yumeko!” Ryota yelled happily, jogging over and scooping the girl in a tight hug. Much to his delight, Yumeko returned the hug tenfold.

“ShiT, I can’t breaTHE-,” he barely managed, his face turning purple. He should have known, the girl was a strong hugger. “Oi, calm down you two, before I separate you guys for 10 minutes straight, and I know that will be a pain since you usually do homework together in the mornings,” Mary stated, crossing her arms. Yumeko finally relented, giving Ryota’s respiratory system some reprieve. Yumeko looked quite meek, but she could give hugs like no other.

“Mary!” Yumeko giggled, giving the blonde another one of her bone crushing hugs. “Sup, dumbass,” Mary replied, smiling softly at her friend’s gestures of affection. “Are you all ready for your first days of school!?” 

It was the start of junior year for the three, and boy were their classes packed. Ryota was taking a few classes on science and health, as well as a gym class to exercise and get fit. He wanted to be a firefighter, and such education was necessary to ensure he was a good candidate for the job.

“I have… Anatomy first period. Woohoo,” Mary sighed. She was actually quite excited, but decided not to show it in order to keep her cool exterior. The path she had chosen was Emergency Medical Services, and taking anatomy was the first step in her opinion.

“Oh? That’s so wonderful! I have Calculus for my first period. I wonder if Sayaka is going to be in that class!” Yumeko said eagerly. Sayaka was one of the other kids attending this school. The girl mainly kept to herself, but she had recently started acquainting herself with the ravenette.

“Gah! Sorry I’m late guys! I kinda missed my bus…” A ginger voice panted, revealed to be none other than Itsuki Sumeragi. The strawberry blonde had met the three last year when she was a sophomore. After transferring from a private school to Hyakkou, the tight-knit group had taken her in, welcoming her as one of their own. “Hey! I heard there’s gonna be a pair of new students! I hear they’re seniors,” Itsuki gossiped, taking out her Nintendo Switch and turning it on.

“Ooh, Smash? Let’s do this!” Ryota declared, taking his controller and setting it to his button map.

“So what about these new students? Do they seem weird or anything?” Mary inquired, picking her character, King K. Rool, and setting her button map. “Oh come on, why do you ALWAYS play heavies!?” Ryota complained, picking Marth as his character. “Because heavies are fucking goated, why else?” the blonde snarked back, a sly smirk on her face.

“I don’t know. But I heard they’re twins!” Itsuki giggled, sitting down to watch them play.

“Heya guys,” a shrill voice came out of nowhere. “You playin’ Smash? I’ll join!” it giggled. Runa had seemingly appeared out of nowhere in her oversized jacket. “Oh no…,” The entire group groaned.

“Runa, you’re cool and all, but whenever we play with you, you find a way to resize our assholes every match in different ways. I really don’t want to get 0-to-deathed consecutively while you stay on three stocks. Seriously, how the fuck do you even do it!?” Mary spoke, seemingly for the entire group. “I dunno, just practice TBH,” was all Runa said, picking up a controller. “And fuck you, I’m playing anyway.” 

The sound of groans could be heard around the courtyard after that statement.

Sayaka Igarashi, resident Valedictorian-to-be, had come over to the table with Midari Ikishima, who was dragging along a seemingly sleepy senior. “C’mon Yuriko. I know you have senioritis but our friends are here!” Midari grumbled, literally dragging Yuriko. Yuriko Nishinotounin had gotten a severe case of Senioritis, especially since most of her classes were a breeze this year. 

“Would you both calm down please!? They’re playing a game, and I’m trying to read!” Sayaka chided, mentally swearing at the rebel. “Chill out, Sayaka, Yuriko is already falling asleep on me and it’s not even 7:30!” Midari grumbled.

“I can’t wait for senior year to be over,” Yuriko yawned, sitting on the table everyone was at basically falling asleep.

“What the fu- NO!” Mary yelled, distracted by Yuriko long enough for Runa to get a move on her, resulting in her virtual demise. “Fuuuuck!” she sighed, hitting her head against the wooden table. “FUCK!” she repeated, after feeling the pain that came along with it. Ryota had already fallen out of the competition.

Please nerf Lucas.

Yumeko hummed happily to herself, reading some random tabloid article on her phone. As the bell rang, they all dispersed into their classes.

“See you guys later!” Ryota called, jogging over to the weight room for his first period.

The three girls had made their way over to the Portables, then separating into their classrooms. 

Sayaka practically dragged her two friends to their classes and then her own, all while keeping to the schedule. Anatomy was her first period, and she sat next to Mary. 

It wouldn’t be too bad of a year. Mary was a good student and wasn’t too hard to talk to. She just mostly liked to keep to herself.

“Good morning class! Welcome to Anatomy! You guys are obviously gonna be learning about the body, it’s functions, what is where and what goes where and woop dee dah, all the good stuff! Hopefully I can make learning about how food passes through the body actually entertaining for y’all, but first we have two new students with us today! They’ve recently transferred over, so let’s give ‘em a warm welcome to Hyakkou!” The teacher, Mrs. Murray, announced. She looked a bit older, with a tall figure and ginger hair in her face. Her glasses looked odd, but it added to her look.

People like Mrs. Murray because she was actually a good teacher. She cared about her students and actually helped them if they needed it.

“Ladies, if you would please introduce yourselves!” 

The entire class looked at the two, and for a moment they thought they saw double.

“Hello. My name is Kirari Momobami. I’m a senior here, and it’s a pleasure to meet you all. I hope we can get along,” The girl, now known as Kirari, had stated.

It seemed her sister’s turn was up next.

“Er.. I’m Ririka Momobami. We’re twins. I hope we can… have a good time!” Ririka muttered, almost too quietly for the class to hear.

Mrs. Murray smiled and beckoned them to take their seats.

Their seats were in front of both Sayaka and Mary, who seemed to be in a state of both ‘gay’ and ‘panic’.

The two twins looked vastly different, with Kirari’s hair done in twin loop braids and dressed in a rather classy manner, while Ririka’s hair was free to fall.

Wait.

Did Ririka have a sweatshirt that had the Poggers Man on it?

Mary internally laughed at that. It was adorable.

When class had dispersed to work in groups, Mary and Sayaka had picked each other on instinct, then looking for two more partners to start their work on.

“Sayaka!” Mary whisper-yelled, a small blush on her face. She then gestured to her phone to text the girl.

Mary S: HOLY SHIT IM GAY

Sayaka I: I am too. Which one are you gay for?

Mary S: Ririka.

Sayaka I: Oh. I like her too.

Mary glared at Sayaka for a moment.

Mary S: The one with the adorable hair and clothing?

The blonde mentally facepalmed, of course Sayaka would think that. No matter the twin.

Sayaka I: Yes. I love how her hair is done. Plus her shirt looks nice.

Mary S: Oh. So the one with the weird braids?

Sayaka I: Don’t call them weird.

Mary S: ok but dont worry cause im crushing on the other twin. I swear her sweatshirt is adorable.

Sayaka I: .

The two had reluctantly come up to the twins.

“Hello! I am Sayaka Igarashi, and this is Mary Saotome. It seems you both don’t have another pair, so if you’d like, we can work with you,” Sayaka stated, trying to sound as polite as possible. Nothing could hide the blush on her face though.

“Sure, I would love to work with you both,” Kirari replied, a small smirk forming on her face.

Ririka just nodded with a small smile.

It was going to be a long year.

Rating the walls of a room in my school just because I can:

This place is something like a Study room, it has books and magazines and a lot of tables and chairs and games like chess, 3D tic tac toe, a grid and some bottle caps for normal tic tac toe and a computer. It seems kind of cool to me, it doesn't have a certain aesthetic or like a color scheme, it's just really colorful. Even though the furniture isn't any set or something, it all kinda fits together imo, but I'm not good with this stuff, so maybe it doesn't.

As for the location, it's on the first floor, near the classrooms mainly used for languages (we have cool ones to pick from too, at least for me; all of us speak Czech cause we're Czech, we've got English as the second language and choose a third one after some time, the third one can be French, Spanish, German or Russian, but only two open) and the rooms where the teachers stay when they're free, have consultations with the student etc. (We call them 'kabinety' which sounds like it translates to cabinets but a cabinet is a piece of furniture so idrk what to call them).

First of all, here's kind of a blueprint or whatever, made by me:

The sizes of most stuff is probably incorrect because a) my memory is shit and b) even if I stood there while drawing this, I can't do the stuff where you take something and draw it smaller or bigger but with the same distances and stuff if that makes sense. It's not like a map so up isn't necessarily North (though it could be, I don't have a clue). This is mostly to show where each wall is and how close/far from the main entrance it is and stuff. Let's got then, starting with

Wall 1

Wall one is the worst of them. I know it looks really cool but before you get angry, listen to me. It is cool. That stuff on it are some quotes and poems and stuff, written on papers which are stuck to it (idk if it's glue or if they put it on there when the paint was drying, I literally have no idea). But most of the quotes are a load of crap. Some sound like they're from r/im14andthisisdeep (shit is it spelled 14 or fourteen in it? anyways you get the point), some are just.. dumb. They include "A mask, the only part of their face that people choose." and "What Johnny won't learn, neither will John." (Loosely translated, Johnny being meant as kind of a nickname which you usually call kids and stuff.), "There is only one truth, which is why not everyone can be right." (This one makes more sense in Czech but still kinda bullshit tbh), "A long shadow doesn't necessarily mean greatness." (Also makes more sense in Czech, greatness sometimes having the same word as largeness or whatever). Some are pretty cool, but most are trash. Example of the ones I find cool is: "Dictators ride tigers, scared to come down from their backs. And the tigers are getting hungry." I'm not really sure about what the last part is supposed to mean, if it's that the tigers will eat the dictators or?? but it's a great quote anyways. One of the ones I hate is "Laziness is the key to poverty." or some shit like that. They're mostly by dead Czech (or Czechoslovakian) politicians (noticed at least two ex presidents) or poets. But there was one by a guy who was probably a philosopher, idk, definitely wasn't Czech and to me his name sounded Greek but I don't really know and don't even remember the name of the man, the quote was something about not having friends. Cool design, probably made by students but I don't like most of the stuff that's written there, 6/10.

Wall 2

This is wall 2. I love wall 2. It has really pretty colors and there's bubbles. Radiates good vibes. Very nice. I don't know how to describe it, it's just beautiful and I don't know what more to say. 10/10.

Wall 3*

Wall 3 looks kind of ominous. Not in a bad way (is there even such a thing?) It has mystery/thriller novel vibes. The feet aren't painted, they had to color someone's feet and somehow get their footsteps up to the half of the wall and I think a) that's very cool, b) it would be fun to participate in/watch and c) it's very creative. The color of the floor is my favorite color. I like how the stripes on the "walls" of the hallway are probably supposed to be just striped that are painted on these "walls" but also look kinda 3D until you look at how they connect to the "ceiling." I am also in love with the "lights" and the way they reflect on the "floor." It kind of doesn't match the vibe of the room and looks less colorful somehow even tho there's a lot of colors, but it's neat. 9.5/10

Wall 4*

Wall 4 is my personal favorite, even though it's the smallest. It's very lively, has pretty colors and shapes that look really really cool to me, idk how else to describe it. I just love it a lot. 11/10, would stare at for hours.

Waaaay less than I thought. Man, I had plans. Then I got pregnant, we moved, SO went away for work leaving me with a 5 year old, we moved countries, SO sodded off for work again... also had dissertation due (failed it, resubmit in April) and life in the new country like, sucked. And they messed with my meds so much.

Do you have any fanfic or general writing goals for the new year?

A few! But I’m being realistic this year.

I want to finish The Future in Snippets and Message Received and Misunderstood, because that’s a short one.  I’d like to have at least half of my post S8 fix-it WIP posted. Maybe some work on Only Size Five, the next installation of Constellations and by the end of the year I want to be focusing on finishing Skirting Katabasis.

I also want to put out at least 5 things for @seeds-of-the-garden (check out their fics if you haven’t yet!) and complete the two one-shots I have sitting in my docs that are at like 80%.  But mainly I want to tie up the unfinished fics rather than work on new ones.

Oooh, toss up between Sunshine and Phone Lines and Message Received and Misunderstood. I think I was so stressed when I wrote the latter that I’m only really now appreciating how much fun it is.

Story with single sweetest moment? 

Message Received and Misunderstood. When Katie goes on her excited ramble and Lance loves it. I know people like the necklace part, but the ramble is the ‘aha!’ moment for me.

Hardest story to write? 

Can You Find a Fallen Star?  I rewrote that final scene about twenty times and I’m still not pleased with it.

Easiest/most fun story to write? 

Sunshine and Phone Lines  - it was one of those ‘mad burst of inspiration’ fics.

Did any stories shift your perceptions of the characters? 

Message Received and Misunderstood. Experiences are so integral to characters, so who is a Pidge who hasn’t been through the trauma of losing her dad and brother? Who is a Lance who misses out on his coveted fighter pilot spot and has to settle for second best? Right out the gate they’re different people now.

☆ oinoya headcanons ☆

( ...that I originally posted on Twitter in the heat of the moment; sorry I’m not sorry at all. They’re quite a lot, so I’m gonna put them under the cut! As always, don’t like ship? Don’t read. )

They meet when Noya starts university and joins the volleyball team and wow, the sparkles in the first triage!

They kinda knew each other already because they played against each other in middle school and are both incredible players. The good-hearted competition is insane!

Oikawa tends to use the suffix -chan / nicknames even with people he doesn't know all that much. There are exceptions though; Noya is one of them (that's canon).

"OIKAWA-SAN!" "...Nishinoya-kun, right?" "Drop the -kun already!" he bluntly cuts him off. Then, in the blink of an eye, the libero's piercing glare shifts and melts into a look of awe and entusiasm. "Your serve was amazing just now! Next time, let me receive it again!"

That guy's impossible so okay, Noya-chan it is! They're teammates anyway and once they hit it off, it's actually endearing!

Started off by accident: it was raining, Oikawa ran into Noya (who didn't have an umbrella) right outside of a restaurant. Might as well dine, right?

Nishinoya hates small talk so awkwardness? Never met her!

Noya calls Oikawa 'Oika-san' at first. Switches to his given name after they start dating.

'Yuu-chan' is meant as a bit of a joke, but then it starts to hold more affection than what Oikawa would like to admit.

They don't use pet names all that often.

Usually, when Oikawa doesn't use any kind of honorific it means they're in the middle of something really intimate and important or that he wants Noya to seriously hear him out.

Noya speaks mainly through gestures and is a bit rough around the edges and not really into sappy stuff 'cause he gets flustered but I mean, he doesn't shy away from voicing his own feelings. He calls Oikawa 'babe' when they're being cocky during practice.

Like, they'd be on different sides of the net and then you hear him shout: "Bring it on babe!", and Oikawa, who's about to serve, will answer with a cocked up eyebrow and a sly, "Coming, hot-shot."

Yeah, hot-shot. 'Cause that's how his boy is: hawt.

• They bicker quite a bit (in childish way) and tend to rile each other up, especially on the court. 

Given their positions, there's no rivalry between them (...in volleyball, mind ya). There's just a whole lot of admiration.

• Nishinoya's admiration will probably dislocate one of Oikawa's shoulders someday, but heh, love is tough. 

And that's another thing: they have each other's back!

Noya's the hot-headed boyfriend who gets all protective, like, "Excuse you?! Got a problem? Come say it to my face, I dare you!" 

He will fight anyone if he has to. 

...doesn't gloat about it much though; Oikawa's ego is fine as it is.

He's supportive af (hella boisterous too) and always there cheering on Oikawa so fiercely, like, "BREAK A LEG, TOORU!" (pun unintended) or, "That serve was AWESOME!" or, "You're doing great!" [insert powerful slap on the backside] 

Can you feel the love? 'Cause I can!

Oikawa, on the other hand, is pretty cheesy an shameless and yes we know your boyfriend he's amazing Shittykawa now shut up. 

He knows Noya is admired by many people, and although he thinks he deserves it he also takes pride in being the one who gets the whole package deal.

He's elegantly smug about it, or so he likes to think. The truth is, he's not elegant at all.

They're neither opposites nor complementary, their personalities just mend so well though!

Noya is genuinely supportive and straightforward, Oikawa is reliable and attentive to a fault.

Oikawa gives Noya tips on how to toss better. He has his own way of doing it, but Noya almost never falls for it (also because tbh he often just doesn't get the irony lmao).

So ideally, that's how Watachi usually did it. But then again, compared to him you're quite small, Yuu-chan." "Hah?! D'you want me to kick you in the shin, Gulliver?"

The height difference is nice, jokes aside. Oikawa says that Noya's attitude could easily be measured as 6'2 and it's true and he finds it adorable and here's another reason why they're pretty physical, ladies and gentlemen.

Leaning against each other on the train because there's so little space and it's convenient? Check!

Hugs from behind? Especially in the morning? Check!

Picking your smol boyfriend up just for the hell of it? Double check!

Please, don’t ever say anything about Nishinoya’s small stature in front of Oikawa; the boy will look at you straight in the eyes and smirk, “Aw, trust me, he’s not as small as you think he is. At all.”

They often train together outside of official practices and stuff their mouths afterwards.

Their dates are never boring, even when they just stay in!

Aquarium, roller-skating (Noya teaching Oikawa how not to fall on his ass), mall, planetarium (Noya can't stay quiet though), taking the train to go visit some city for the most varied reasons... anything really.

If they're in the city, Oikawa's the one to guide them (he knows how to read maps). Otherwise it's Noya, who is used to outdoors and has got an incredible internal compass.

Study dates are a thing but they usually take place at the library because Noya is easily distracted and Oikawa finds it cute, sure, but also quite unsettling. Like, he eventually snaps, why doesn't he ever worry? Where are his priorities? Is he even human?

He is, by the way. While not being a genius in school, Noya is pretty self-disciplined and we know he's pretty hard on himself, too. It's just that he balances it all with his attitude.

Oikawa, on the other hand, wants to be as good as he can possibly be and more. He's dedicated, he's pushing forwards to make his talent bloom and that's something that Noya deeply admires about him, even though he thinks (and says) that Oikawa is already talented.

Dates at home include cuddling, movies and TV series, stuff popping out of the oven that looked tasty on the internet, pillow fights, playful wrestling (Noya's fault), shenanigans we're not supposed to know about, conversations of any sort and more cuddling.

They enjoy going out to eat together even if they don't share the exact same taste in food.

Oikawa always manages to snatch one of Nishinoya's egg rolls and get away with it and given that Noya's got a bigger appetite let's be honest: if this isn't love then Idk what is.

Oikawa is one of the few people who can stand talking, eating and watching Nishinoya waving his hands around between a mouthful of food and a sentence (all of this at the same time) without getting a headache.

If you ask him, it's actually cute. Noya's talkative and expressive and he's witty, more mature than it seems and he makes Oikawa feel at ease, comfortable and carefree. Really, look at them and wonder at the high level of dorkiness (I might be making up words now, sorry).

They're both pretty observant and accepting. Oikawa has an analytical and restless mind, there is nothing he doesn't take note of as well as there is not knowing what is going through his head.

Despite all of this, Oikawa knows he has people who he can rely on though, and he actually trusts Nishinoya. The boy's bold and loud and energetic to a fault, but when nobody is looking it's almost scary how piercing and quick those eyes of his are.

The only thing he doesn’t trust Nishinoya with, it’s movies. They have very different preferences. While Oikawa loves sci-fi and films like E.T., Interstellar, Star Wars etc., Nishinoya is into action movies and basically anything that has him screaming his lungs off. Everyone knew Oikawa was serious about them when he came out with, “I found the perfect combination between my excellent taste in movies and, well, yours!”

Ended up being Mars Attacks! lmao.

Sometimes, they watch rom-coms together. Oikawa kinda likes them, Nishinoya doesn’t get the drama but still gets invested in them.

They’re not into the same exact music genre, really, but they once sang Wannabe (Space Girls) in the car. Dorks.

They're a weird mixure of being nosy/pushing and staying out of each other's hair when needed. Especially Noya, who's more independent from this point of view.

But when it's due, there is no escaping his intensively caring side. Oikawa can fight him as much as he wants.

They're both cuddly ~ So very cuddly!

Noya's restlessness made them roll off the couch once and Oikawa is pretty demanding and pouty when he wants to be, but it's really the warmest feeling in the world.

Oikawa's usually the big spoon since Noya's little and as snuggly as a koala(?). And a lot easier to deal with, too! 

Reason being his boyfriend's literal softness and sweet scent; cue Noya covering Oikawa in kisses. 

They switch though. Like I said, cuddle bugs!

Oikawa has got a bit of a habit of nuzzling Noya's neck when he's the one being held and because of his floofy hair, it always ends up like this: (x).

They do argue from time to time due to their different perspectives, but it never lasts aaaall that much. They're both pretty stubborn though. 

The key is communication. In this case, while Oikawa can have difficulties, Nishinoya doesn't, since he's so confrontantional.

This is to say that they're not perfect; they just care enough to be willing to compensate each other and meet in the middle. 

Also, they're pretty passionate, if you get my gist!~ (...don't look at me like that, they ain't kids).

Also, hand holding. A whole lot. 

Picture these two idiots talking all snuggled up while playing with each other's fingers. You're welcome. 

For real though, hands are probably their primary source of PDA.

Oikawa randomly petting Noya's head, Noya poking Oikawa's dimples; you name it! 

Next best thing: hugs.

It's flying hugs when it's Noya initiating because he will never stop jumping on people's back. He's a bit more considerate with Oikawa due to his knee.

Nishinoya hugs Oikawa every single morning for 21 seconds straight before jumping out wide awake and full of energy. The shot of oxytocin he gets works wonders far better than coffee.

Speaking of coffee, Oikawa is not a morning person. At all. He’s quite bitchy and needs a lot of time to get ready (and lookable, so he says).

Nishinoya makes coffee for him when he gets up first, but he’s not very good at it since he never drinks it and therefore has never had to make it. He’s improving though, and Oikawa appreciates the effort. 

Them icing their own knees late at night; Noya doing his best to massage Oikawa's knee with the essential oils in the gentlest way possible; Oikawa peppering Noya's colored bruises with small kisses.

Oikawa feeling comfortable enough to watch Area 51 documentaries while studying, glasses on and hair mussed, and Nishinoya letting him even though it's his own room because he's smitten and he knows it.

They're both cheesy and will shoot a random pick up line at each other that will result in laugher, sassiness or both. Other than that, they're the opposite of sappy; they're just dorks.

"I asked Kuro-chan to teach me this one!" He's got it written on his hand. "Are you made of copper and tellurium?" "Of what?" "Because you're CuTe!" "...Okay, the one he taught to me is: if I was an enzyme, I'd be DNA helicase so I could unzip your genes." "Kinky, Yuu-chan.~"

When they're not together (they're one year apart in university after all), they sometimes send a quick text or picture to each other. Just 'cause, you know.

Noya: "Do you think I'm pretty?" Oikawa: "No, you're too short and bossy and your nose is all funny."

( Spoiler alert: Oikawa thinks Nishinoya's the prettiest and he will eventually giggle and tell him so, seeing his adorably outraged face. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talks! )

oooo! i’m gonna read shades of magic soon ! what are your top 5 fav book series ?

OMG I hope you like it!!

tbh this probably isn’t what you’re looking for, but most of my favorites are kids books. I read a lot when I was growing up but I got frustrated after a bit with the fact that my father wouldn’t really let me read anything beyond kid’s fiction, so I stopped reading after I turned 16 or so. Now I’m breaking back into it, cause I love books and also I work at a bookstore so I should probably know more (so if you have any suggestions let me know!). Buuut the ones I love I really love, so. Also, since you specified series, that cuts out my favorite solo-one-off books :p 

1. Redwall & Warriors

My older sisters all kind of grew up in that time where you were either obsessed with Redwall or Warriors and I had one sister who was each series so I ended up reading them both. My favorite Redwall book was probably Marlfox or Mattimeo, with The Sable Quean and High Rhulain and Eulalia following close behind. I’m pretty sure I read every one of those books. Oh wait, then again, Outcast and Mariel of Redwall were both good... ;lkjhgf. As for Warriors, I liked most of the books because I really just liked having a world with a map and with routines that were set out and it felt like a real enough world to exist. I think I liked The Power of Three (mainly Jayfeather) and The New Prophecy (mainly the concept of having to leave home and find a new land) the best. 

2. Willow Falls Series 

So this one is kinda a weird one but basically it’s set in this town and it’s a series of kids books with ~weird magic~ aka pretty much my favorite genre. They all revolve around birthdays, like the first book follows a girl and a boy who used to always celebrate their birthdays together but this is their first birthday after a big fight and so the day keeps looping until they make up and find out what caused the loop. It’s in general just a lighthearted, fun little series. 

3. Tales of Magic

So again with the kind of weird ones here’s a really old addition. It’s probably best known for “Half Magic”, but each book follows a ~weird magic~ and a bunch of kids who discover it. Half magic is about a magic that only completes half of your wish. So if you wish to be back home you end up halfway home. Mostly I just liked these books for the clever and funny magic rules, and the fact that they mostly followed an ensemble of 3 or more children and I grew up mainly on books like Narnia so I was used to Strange Other Worlds

2. Kingdom Keepers

This was maybe the last series I read before I really stopped reading. It veers a little more into the YA branch, since it follows like... a teenager and various romantic and coming of age tropes, but I think what I liked about it the most is that growing up I wasn’t ever really a huge Disney fan? I liked the movies ok, but we don’t live near a park and I had very few friends to pass on the “magical branding” concept. So the idea of the characters walking around and living in a “character world” as well as the concept of the inner workings of the parks and the world there being important was really cool. I think the second book, Disney at Dawn, is possibly my favorite as it introduces a pressing narrative danger as well as a mysterious list of ~clues~ to follow. There’s also about 7 viewpoint characters, which is another love of mine. Also, the amount of Retcon in the second book is just... so good. You can tell from the first book he wasn’t expecting to be asked to write another and when he was he had to change... a few details. Amazing.

1. The Mysterious Benedict Society 

So in a twist that surprises absolutely no one, my favorite kind of books are ones that are clever, have a big world, and explore a premise that can be wrapped up in a nice moral lesson. This series is all of those things. Every single line is just... clever. Every piece of dialogue is sharp and witty and hits. Each book is built on puzzles and riddles and mysteries and, of course, there’s an ensemble cast of children who are each brilliant and vibrant in their own ways and compliment each other so well. It kind of reminds me of my favorite non-series book, The Phantom Tollbooth, in writing style except it’s set in a much more contemporary world instead of far far away in an alternate reality. I feel like people who liked A Series of Unfortunate Events would like this one, but I can’t honestly make that call as I Was Not Allowed To Read ASUE. Sad.

Honorary Mentions - I did end up thinking of a few more that I just never finished, haven’t read in a while, or I really liked but have a serious religious tilt to them cause they were probably discovered through my father. So I’ll just drop those down here~

not very long, tbqh. she’s very adventurous & she got this strong inner drive to explore and raid and drink and have fun. she’s very extroverted and as a captain she is always calling commands over others and taking matters into her own hands.she does enjoy a quite day on board just enjoying the sun & the sea, or on shore in a bar with her crew drinking together, but never for long

3. How do they put themselves to bed at night (reading, singing, thinking?)

probably with a bottle of alcohol (rum) tbh. now as the watcher she has come to think about herself and her whole, soul situation, more than usual, which increased her drinking

5. How easy is it to earn their mistrust?

very easy, especially as a cipher she always knows what you’re thinking lol. also she has lived with criminals all her life, distrusting anyone who is not in her crew is her motto

7. What triggers nostalgia for them, most often? Do they enjoy that feeling?

she has reached that point by now where she genuinely cares for her new companions (much to her dislike, she would rather have stayed independet but alas..) traveling with them for so long AND staying connected to their emotional state due to being a cipher, its hard not to. this is exactly the thing that triggers her nostalgia. she lost her crew, who she considered family & she lost her ship. and she would rather not remember

9. Do they swear? Do they remember their first swear word?

she swears all the time. she got lots of dumb pirate vocabulary up her sleeve no one understands other than her pals back in deadfire. i dont think that swearing is anything special to her so that she would remember her first swear word though

she likes to make people believe that she knows everything, that she is capable in no matter what situation, due to the fact that she doesnt want to lose the respect she gained with others (especially as a captain managing a ship). i think its a nice mixture of both, but mainly she pretends to understand & much rather tries to pick up on what is going on through information other people around her might let slip. she also has no problem with extracting information directily outta your brain, if she has to

13. What color do they think they look best in? Do they actually look best in that color?

black, dark red & gold are her favourite colours on her .. and they do look nice

she says pretty much whatever she thinks of on the spot, but she is more careful in negotiations or dangerous situations and stuff. her clever tongue might betray her sometimes though

she has always taken what she wants, and she still does. let it be by manipulating you with words, slyly stealing something or attacking u with canons. it depends on the situation

not in her comfort zone. she doesnt consider herself marriage material, .. and, at least at the moment, she thinks it clashes very strongly with her constant need for independence and freedom

she doesnt want to die. and she is afraid of growing insane since she became a watcher and she saw maerwalddying because of it. for her, her mind is her greatest weapon & the reason she survived for so long on the sea. its the last thing she wants to lose.

she tries to, i dont think she can ever be statisfied for good though

AAA part of me wants to answer this after ive played poe2 because i feel like this could be good headcanon material lmao

BUT atm its probably all her companions. especially aloth, kana, pallegina & eder. she started off at a pretty dark-ish place at the beginning of the story, mourning her lost crew. gaining new friends actually helps her dealing with it, even if she doesnt talk to them about it. she also thinks that they are shaping her into a better person, she is not sure if she’s liking it or not though. also she would probably have run off back to deadfire and just not deal with her awakening and the dyrwood if not for them, so thats good lol

33. Could they be considered lazy?

no… i think her job AND her new role as a watcher makes it hard for her to be lazy lol. she usually does like to take the easier route on things though, or just the cleverer one. shes basically just here to steal from the actual hard working people, so i guess it depends on your interpretation ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

35. How do they treat the things their friends come to them excited about? Are they supportive?

sure, she’ll listen.. and probably open a bottle of rum with u

she got nicknames for most people she hangs out with for longer than a day or so, it helps her remember their actual names. she also writes a lot of things in her log and on maps and stuff. most other things she simply remembers through doing them over and over for so long

39. How easy is it for them to ignore flaws in other people?

pretty easy, as long as those flaws dont interfere in any practical way, for example in their job on deck or something like that. she’s probably more empathetic than most people in her profession, but i wouldnt risk it. cocky commentary is one of her nicer methods of letting u know if youre annoying her too much

41. How do they feel about children?

the same as about marriage tbh

1: Top 3 heroes/protagonists

To narrow it down a little, i’m going to consider this as meaning MAIN protagonists.

Luke Skywalker (Star Wars) (Surprise surprise) I’ve already gushed so much about why I love Luke so i’ll keep it short this time. But I love that he’s a male lead in a science fiction movie series heavily geared towards dudebros that defies so many of the toxic tropes that usually come with male leads in that genre. Luke’s journey is about refusing to succumb to the darkness even while people from both sides of the conflict are urging him to do so. And he ultimately wins via compassion and his belief of inherent goodness. He’s a male lead that’s ultimately led by his heart, which is so refreshing. I remember being so surprised by how much I loved him the first time I finally sat down and watched Star Wars.

Buffy Summers (Buffy: The Vampire Slayer) Buffy was one of the first female protagonists of a TV like BTVS that I was ever fully invested in and she was a good place to start. Buffy doesn’t fall into the typical trope of being emotion-free or hateful towards other women like so many people believe a “badass” female character like her needs to be. Buffy loves and cares about her friends and family and even craves romance, and none of that detracts from the fact that she’s also the slayer and kicks ass. She’ll always be one of my role models.

James Flint (Black Sails) I’ll admit that calling Flint a hero is a stretch since…he’s done some bad things, but I couldn’t not include him in this. He’s such a rarity…I don’t know of any other lead protagonists that are like him. The writers could have easily made him the typical straight douchebag that are usually in shows like this (a la Jax Teller). But instead, he’s a gay man with a lot of righteous anger towards the world for the unfairness of homophobic society. And he’s NOT ashamed of being gay! One of his most iconic speeches is about refusing to apologize to England because in his mind, he did nothing wrong. And he has multiple profound relationships with women that do not boil down to him wanting to fuck them and are actually filled with respect. I just….James Flint man. I could talk about him all day.

Honorable mention to Harry James Potter, who I love a lot as well.

2: Top 3 villains/antagonists

Azula (Avatar: The Last Airbender) One of the most complex and well written female villains ever. She’s never redeemed, but she was still given enough genuine qualities and backstory to feel sympathy for her. But at the same time….she’s also just really twisted and awful at times. “Don’t flatter yourself. You were never even a player.” How iconic??? (Also, the reason Zuko is not on this list is because I don’t really consider him a villain. At least not in the classic sense).

Darth Vader/Anakin Skywalker (Star Wars) He scares the shit out of me and actually has enough of a story and background to be interesting. Kylo Ren who?

Cersei Lannister (ASOIAF/GOT) Such an evil bitch….but once in a while, I find myself rooting for her lol. She’s the only typical villain that I really love in ASOIAF though.

3: Top 3 supporting characters

(Oh god….in no particular order. And i’m not even 100% sure of these answers lol. And for this, i’m assuming they just mean not the #1 main character.)

Bonnie Bennett (The Vampire Diaries)  I don’t talk about her much anymore because i’m pretty much over TVD but she was the first character I ever stanned in a typical fandom way and therefor will always have a special place in my heart. I’ll be forever angry about how that demon show treated her.

Sansa Stark (ASOIAF/GOT) I’m not sure who would be considered the main character of ASOIAF. (I think Ned might have been the main character in the first book but after that….idk) but i’m going to go on a limb and assume that Sansa would be considered a supporting character lol. I love my survivor wolf daughter who is underestimated but manages to outsmart everyone.

Max (Black Sails) I pretty much love all of the female characters in Black Sails but Max would have to be #1 for me. (Although Eleanor is a veeeeeery close second. And sometimes they’re tied). I love how much of an enigma of a character she is. She’s manipulative but also one of the most genuinely compassionate characters on the show. And she has one of the most profound overall arcs on the show imo. Also….a lesbian icon.

15: Top 3 character backstories

James Flint (Black Sails): I will never get over the fact that not only did they make their lead character on a violent TV show like this gay, but that they also made a lot of his motivations revolve around his sexuality and the loss of a man that he was in love with. Sometimes I wish I went into this show completely blind because the “Flint and Thomas reveal were in love” reveal would have hurt and shocked me in the best way. It’s one of the biggest reasons why Black Sails is one of my favorite shows despite the issues I do have with it.

Zuko (ATLA): His backstory is really sad but his character wouldn’t have been the same without it. The two prominent episodes that showed his backstory (The Storm and Zuko Alone) are both in my top 5 ATLA episodes. It also makes his eventual happy ending seem even more rewarding.

Severus Snape (Harry Potter): I’m not a Snape apologist but i’d be lying if I said that the reveal that he was a double agent against Voldemort the entire series didn’t fuck me up for months after I finished reading Deathly Hallows lol. I did not see it coming, I was so shocked.

1. Sansa and Jon’s reunion (Game of Thrones)

The only good Stark reunion on the show so far (Sansa and Arya were cute until they ruined it with that bullshit storyline). It has everything. The slow approach after they first see each other, the initial shock slowly melting away as they leap into a hug, all while the Stark theme plays in the background. I have hopes that all the Starks will get better reunions in the books but until then….I truly do love this scene.

2. Zuko and Iroh’s reunion (Avatar: The Last Airbender)

This scene makes me emotional….pretty much every time I watch it. Zuko approaches Iroh cautiously out of a shame for his betrayal of him and because he’s positive that Iroh is going to be furious with him and reluctant to forgive. But then he doesn’t even have to fully finish his apology before Iroh is pulling him into a hug. It’s the unconditional love that he never got from his biological father.

3. Flint and Thomas’ reunion (Black Sails)

The fact that the very last shot of James Flint was him reuniting with the man he loved after ten years of believing him to be dead is something that I will never forget. 

(I realize that all of these moments are reunions but….ohhhh well.)

I can’t really think of too many scary moments because I don’t watch a lot of horror stuff. I’m sure if I thought deeply about it I could come up with stuff from shows like The Walking Dead or Hemlock Grove but since it’s been so long since i’ve watched either of those shows, my mind is coming up blank.

But I will say…that scene where Matilda and Miss Honey were trying to escape Trunchbull’s house always used to scare me as a kid lol.

33: Top 3 awesome moments in fiction

(Another one where i’m very unsure of my answers because there are a lot of awesome moments in fiction that I love. But i’m just going to list the ones that come to mind first.)

1. Zuko leaves the Fire Nation and tells off Ozai (Avatar: The Last Airbender)

For so long, all I wanted was for you to love me, to accept me. I thought it was my honor I wanted, but really, I was just trying to please you. You, my father, who banished me just for talking out of turn. My father, who challenged me, a thirteen-year-old boy, to an Agni Kai. How could you possibly justify a duel with a child?

The scene goes on longer than that but i’m not going to post the full transcript for the sake of not making it insanely long. But I loved it because it was a full display of how far Zuko had come in his character development. And he finally, after almost the full duration of the series, came to fully understand that his abuse wasn’t his fault. And got to fully confront his abuser. I just…this scene is so important. 

2. Max’s speech to Anne in 4x08 (Black Sails) 

I remember when I first met Eleanor, how stunned I was. A woman who spoke the way she did, who had no fear of the world or the men who reigned over it.mWhen I became her lover, I watched the decisions she made and resolved to learn from them. When I became her rival, I watched the mistakes she made and resolved never to repeat them. But at the end, when I felt I had surpassed her in every way, it seemed as though there was something she was still trying to say to me. Surrendering everything she had sacrificed so dearly for, because it would have come at the expense of the one she loved. She was trying to tell me, I just could not hear her, about what is truly important. I said no to Marion Guthrie’s plan, despite having no alternative and at the risk of losing the entire endeavor, because I refuse to situate a man in a position where he might interfere one day with my ability to repair things with you.  You are the bravest person I have ever known. The truest person I have ever known. And I betrayed you and it sickens me. I’m so sorry for trying so hard to protect the wrong things. For failing to see that there is nothing important that does not include you.

I’ll always be upset that Eleanor died and that this was the last Maxanne scenes of the series (side-eyes the finale) but I will forever love this scene because it represents so much about what I love about the Maxanne and Maxanor relationships. The fact that Max, a lesbian character, had her arc and development throughout the show so beautifully shaped by her relationships with two women (both of whom were her lovers at some point) will forever make me emotional. 

3. Luke refuses to fall to the dark side (Star Wars)

Never. I’ll never turn to the Dark Side. You have failed, Your Highness. I am a Jedi, like my father before me.

I’ve already talked at length about why I love this scene so I won’t go into it too much. But it represents everything I love about Luke’s character. The ending of his journey is not the typical violent fest that most male protagonists in this genre end with it, it’s refusing to fall into the same trap that Palpatine had lured Anakin into years before. deh apartment hcs

so i was just scrolling thru Tumblr Dot Com™ and I saw a post that said “does anyone else ever daydream of decorating their first apartment?” (if anyone knows who made that lmk) but anyway i saw that and was like omg if that ain’t alana and then i was like wAIT WHAT ABOUT THE REST OF THEM so here’s this. fyi this is like a college au type thing ish??

but anyway back to what inspired this in the first place

so alana would SO plan her apartment out from when she was like young enough to understand it ya get it

like she would pick out furniture at age six

(her taste would obviously change as she got older but u get it)

and she would literally have it down to the p a i n t color

like she would walk into home depot or whatever and the worker would expect her to look around for like 40 minutes but she’d be like

“hi hello i’ll take seashell grey in the gloss finish please. make it quick.”

(i totally just made that up what the hell is a gloss finish never heard of her)

i also picture her having lots of house plants? like most of them would be fake bc she’s too busy to keep them alive but they wouldn’t look fake

yeah alana’s apartmetnt would be so put together and like clean cut and nice

or when she’d be over doing homework w zoe she’d try to teach her math and science and stuff on it

evan’s apartment would be v small

he llved with his mom the first two years of college but decided to move out because he was feeling like he made a lot of progress and was ready to live on his own (btw is it canon tht he lives w his mom first year of college? i forget lmk)

(but he wasn’t really living on his own bc connor was always over or he was at connor’s place) 

he would have a v little sitting area w a really old tv and a worn out couch that was probably free on the side of the road or cheap from a garage sale

he would have a fridge and oven and stuff but he’d mostly just use the microwave

(ho;ly shit “some people say just use a microwave…”)

(i h8 myself why why why ok moving on)

his diet would mainly consist of ramen noodles

bc he doesn’t want to leave and have to socalize with people at fast food places or the grocery store

but every once and a while zoe would come over like “evan wtf” and make him food to hold him over for a while

(uh hc that zoe’s a really good cook??/)

he would have a little bedroom with a big window in it

and his comforter would be blue with navy stripes (similar to The Shirt™ but not completley the same)

he would have lots of sticky notes everywhere

like ranging from “don’t forget to feed the dog” to “don’t worry about it, it’s probably not a big deal”

and when he was in a really good mental state he would write them and stick them in places he know he’d see when he wasn’t in the best shape

and it would encourage him to keep going

wow that’s equally heartbreaking and adorable

like there wouldn’t be a single fake plant in there

but he loved them bc he felt like it made the air fresher??? like it supplied more oxygen in the room which made it easier to breathe when he was feeling anxious??

(idk i can’t really explain it but that’s how i feel when i get anxious so i feel like it would help him too)

but it would range from huge ass borderline trees to succlents the size of his thumb nail

he would have s o many succulents

even though it was small he really loved his apartment

bc he worked really hard to be able to pay for it and buy the furniture and stuff

so it was like his baby

connor’s apartment would actually be pretty big

like everything would be super super high quality and nice 

he would so have a recliner chair

you know the one i’m talking about okay

and he would spend most of his time in there

even though he def has a huge nice sectional

(btw most of his furniture is black)

when evan would come over he wouldn’t want to get up out of it

but even always wanted to cuddle

so the first time evan was like “con come over hereee”

connor just scooched over

but just went over to him

and they were kinda squished but they loved it 

bc they were so close to eachother

and evan’s shower at his apartment is like sucky so he always just showers at connors

So I went to China last week...and just want to post about it here, because tbh Tumblr is the place I looked back to the most when I wonders what did I do in my life...

First of all, I didn’t want to go to China because I’m sorry, but I’m just not interested...My family were going to go to China to meet my cousin from USA, she went to China for a field trip.  My mom kind of pushed me to go because she didn’t want to be alone with my older aunt, she thought that it will be boring with just the two of them.  My aunt and my mom went a day ahead on the 5th because I had an important exam that day.

Since this is a text post, it will mainly focused on my experience rather than the picture, so I won’t post much picture in this post.

On the 6th, I also had an exam, but I didn’t told my family about it because they will surely complains about this.  It was a minor exam, a multiple choices that took only 20 minutes to finish for supposedly 3 hours exam.  I left my university at 9:40am to catch the plane (my flight is 1:25pm flight), the distance between my university and the airport is 59 km.  With luck on my side, everything was clear and I made it to the gate with 1 hr 25 min to spare (it took about 2 hr 20 min from uni to get to the gate) The flight is supposed to be a direct flight, however because of the immigration thing, I had to stop at Nanning airport.  Again, everything was clear (totally opposite of what my family experienced) 

It so clear that I seem to be the first person to get on this airport bus to the airplane.  So, I arrived in Guilin with no problem at all, the struggle started here...as a person who bad at public transportation in general.  (I could get by with subway and such, but will get lost in and outside the station)  My mom asked my cousin’s teacher about how to get to the hotel.  She said take a bus to downtown and get taxi from there.

So, I did that and get a taxi in the downtown, that was my first failed in China.  When I get off the bus, the taxi driver just take me to his taxi with no meter, and asked for 60 yuan to get to the hotel.  I didn’t know how much it suppose to cost to get to the hotel, but my mom paid 120 yuan from airport to hotel.  So it probably an okay price.  When I rode the taxi, I knew that not the price because he drove in a round about way.  I knew that hotel not suppose to be that far because I saw it on the way to the downtown.  He drove out of the downtown, entered tunnel, and then came back to downtown.  Later, I knew that it suppose to cost only 20 yuan for that distance.

This is my first meal in China, at least it taste good.  Salty and feels very MSG though.

On the 7th, my cousin’s teacher asked us to meet at 5:30am in the hotel lobby.  She took us out to wait for a bus to pick us up, that bus dropped us off in another place near some kind of park and then we had to ride another bus, which is the tour bus.  Okay, fine whatever and this is another one of my unimpressed mode because we were the first group they picked up and then they have to go around to pick others, I have no idea how long it took, but I arrived at the place at 9 am (according to google map, it suppose to take about 1 hr 30 min from hotel to Yangshuo)

So we get off the bus and follow the path to ride on the scenic boat ride, which is something famous in that area.

And here come my next “not according to plan” thing

We suppose to ride this bamboo raft thing, however the night before it was raining so hard that the water overflow and the government had to ban bamboo raft on the day we went there, so we end up riding normal Li River Cruise, which is not that special.

This is my minor failed point, the scenery here is suppose to be a scenery in 20 yuan bills.  My failed point is I had a newer 20 yuan bill but I couldn’t find them at first, so I had to take a pic using this old bill.  

The scenery at here was beautiful and impressive, it’s full of mountains.  I never see that much mountains before to be honest.  

Next stop is Silver Cave, about an hour ride but felt like forever.  There’s a spot I wanted to take a picture of so bad, but didn’t get to due to lack of time.  My cousin’s teacher rushing us all the time, it was not pleasant.  Silver Cave has English audio guide, which is a good touch.

This is the highlight of the cave and the reason why it called Silver Cave.  The story said that there was this guy stumbled across this cave and thought that these are silver, he went back to tell his wife that they’ll be rich from these, turn out these are just rocks.

Silver Cave was beautiful, I was awed by it when I was in there, but when I see them through picture, I felt nothing.  The cave is about 1 hour walk inside, there are many picture spot especially the one with the little statue and believes.  The exit of the cave is another unimpressed point though.  They made an exit in a round about way for people to go through their little market.  They tried to sell us stuff with food and little Chinese souvenirs.  It could have taken 5 min to get out, but because the way it was made, it took like 15 min to get out.

On the 8th, we left Guilin for Shanghai.  My flight is once again later than my family, it was a 4:30pm flight.  I asked the receptionist and found a nearby airport bus, however the timing is not so great.  In the end, I decided to ride taxi to airport.  I didn’t know what airport in Chinese is and I gave them the picture of airport bus sign and tried to tell them airport, not airport bus.  The lady taxi driver took me to airport bus place, it cost me 34 yuan to get to the downtown for airport bus.  Once I get off, another taxi driver tried to take me to his taxi, he said that his taxi only cost 20 yuan.  20 yuan sounds great for a taxi ride to the airport, turn out that I had to share taxi with another person.

My mom was talking about Chinese noodles, which made me wanted some and ended up paid 68 yuan for this at the airport, another failed point.  Look at that ladle though.

A badly taken picture because I don’t want to stop walking and bother people behind me.  Before I got on the plane, I had an headache in the airport bus because it was crowded and people were really loud.  I got scared every time Chinese people stared talking, I thought they were yelling at me or something.

Once I arrived in Shanghai, I took the metro to my hotel.  The metro = my forte, and I proved that there are no problem for me as long as I know where I’m going.  This is a surprise for me because after going out of the station, I didn’t get lost at all and I was easily arrived at the hotel.  To be fair, the map that was given to me was just straight line from the station exit, but I didn’t know left or right once I left the station, so I chose random side and happened to be a wrong side.  I asked the guy that take care of public bathroom whether I should go left or right.  After than it just straight line.

When I arrived at the hotel, I met my cousin’s friend and they asked me to go for a drink, I fall for the high school kids’ trap and drink with them.  I thought it would be normal drink since they are underage, turn out to be alcohol.  My failed point, bye bye 58 yuan.  The drink called French Kiss and it has raspberry in it.  Then, they went out to get beers, then go to billiard place to play a bit.  I was so bad at it, but I at least get one ball in.  (We played 2 on 2 btw) After I drank another can of beer than a high school kid bought for me, I must admit that I was already feeling a bit tipsy.  I’m so week against alcohol ><  The kid gave me a snail instant noodle, he said it very delicious.  I’m still skeptical to eat it though.

On the 9th, we met at 6 am to wait for other tour group...and actually left the meeting place around 7:30 am

After that tower, we went on a river cruise, then Yuyuan shopping place.  The tour asked us to meet at 3:30pm, we waited until 4:00 pm and not all people came, so we just left them there.

The Bund, this just like Silver Cave, the real thing was beautiful, but the pictures are meh.

On the 10th, the they we will leave China, finally.  My mom wanted to shopping, so we went to the fake branded stuff market.  I don’t like it there and I was so tired of walking.  This is the final day and tbh the main reason I decided to write this long post.  

The flight home is at 6:05 pm, with boarding time 5:25 pm, but as you can see in the picture, the flight was delayed for 2 hours due to rain.  It was raining so hard that there are flooding on the runway.  I had a connecting flight back to Bangkok after this, but I believed that everything will be fine.  However, when I arrived at Guangzhou airport around 10:30pm, they told me I missed my 11:15pm flight.  They said I won’t have enough time to get on the plane.

I got in line, waited for an hour to get my new boarding pass.

It was a morning flight on the next day.  They then gave me a map to get to hotel accommodation center, the walk was quite far.  They let us choose whatever hotel in the list.  I wanted to choose the 4 stars one, but the guy just walked to me and say that this hotel is leaving now.  So I like, whatever, I just want to rest, turn out that hotel was the closest hotel from the airport.  I arrived at hotel around 12am.  The ride from the hotel is at 5:30am, I had to spend around 3 hours at the airport doing nothing (I was playing I-chuu though)   

My seat was upgraded, from economy to deluxe seat, which is nice.

Overall, it was a trip full of new experience.  I never went anywhere with a tour before, although this is a daily tour, it still a first time.  There are many things I’m displeased with about the tour, but I did get to go to beautiful travel spot.  Chinese people is worse than Japanese, they cannot speak English at all even in big city like Shanghai.  Some airline staff cannot communicate in English.  The only thing I think of while in China is how I miss Japan.  This is the first trip since I came back to Thailand that I go somewhere else other than Japan.  China was stressful, the language barrier was stressful.  I do want to go to the tomb in Xi’an, great wall of China and Tiananmen Square, but this trip made me feel like “I don’t want to go come back here.”  If one day I’ll go to China again for whatever reason, I will surely packed my Chinese-speaking friend(s) with me.

Next stop on Sunday the 18th, Japan.  Probably with a brand new tag called, Chatchalita dramatic internship in Japan.  I wanted to be specific and say Aichi, but I will also go to Tokyo to the main office (and of course fangirls hard) and planning to visit Kochi...so it kind of difficult to keep that tag...or maybe chatchalita dramatic internship in aichi ft tokyo...or i could keep them separate in different tags....
