you know what headcanon I really enjoy about Bernard? (aside from the strawberry blonde one) 

it’s that he’s not afraid of Bruce AT ALL

not even with the theories about him being in the mob or a mole person, not even with the actual truth of him being Batman

he just isn’t scared of him

imagine this grown man giving shovel talk to his baby boy’s new boyfriend and Bernard is just sitting there, listening and being respectful, but NOT phased

and then down the line he knows his future father in law is Batman, he gets loomed over in the cave by said future father in law, and it’s just like “hi Bruce~ new cape? very spooky, you’re doing great!”

but my favorite part is Bruce going from quiet confusion to begrudging respect because this boy can’t be hiding anything if he’s not afraid of him, right?

oh but he is hiding stuff, everyone does, so Bruce is like “nani the fuck? why aren’t you scared of me”

and Bernard’s like “was I supposed to be?”

it’s the best
