Character 19: grew up as Mommy's Specialest Boy (there's literally not a single picture in his house that doesn't have him in it) but then his mom dies of a heart attack from a stupid prank he pulls. and his dad resents him for it, and almost beats him, but then decides he's not worth it which COMPLETELY damages this kid's self-image and now he seeks out being beaten by his father so he knows he is "worth it" and it's also the only form of affection he ever gets from his father. (this ends up being the same reason he beats his son when he himself becomes a father. generational trauma babey!) he's also a repressed gay in a very hardcore protestant community which he is also the mayor of. so that's fun.
