unfortunately when i then went to frantically type a response, it became like that case where you're asked to share a fun fact about yourself, but then promptly forget every interesting detail about yourself. and so i couldn't figure out what to say - so i decided to just create a draft and hopefully let the ideas come to me naturally, so that's why this is such a late response!!

i'm not sure if i've shared this already but i used to be heavily obsessed with the idea of nico performing at the reputation tour as a surprise guest

also just generally his friendships with any irl celebrities

kayla always "invites" nico to concerts (which nico goes to because he will literally go to any concert if asked), but it's really just because there's a possible chance of being pulled backstage and meeting the artist with a famous singer next to her (nico is fully aware of this) but also bc nico's a rlly fun concert buddy

kayla out of the apollo household is the most up to date with any sort of pop culture, which is a bit ironic seeing as she's one of the two who have absolutely nothing to do with the music industry

nico braiding hair is one of my absolute favvvv hc's, and i was able to fit it in with kayla during one of the greatest of luxuries chapters, but he 100% also braids the hair of the girls in his crew (if they want it), and kayla ofc, and piper sometimes - he used to braid bianca's hair and bianca used to braid his (until she died, at which nico started to braid his own hair because he liked it out of his face and it became like second nature to quickly put it in a braid - at least until he cut it off lmao)

^^ and this is very cute bc i imagine that darren did lots of braids for kayla (girl dad darren my heart) when she was like practicing archery and stuff (and this was when she had longer hair, i imagine she cut a good chunk of it off in middle school and continued to cut it a bit shorter every year since then), and so when kayla moved in with apollo, he watched so many youtube tutorials to try and get it right until nico walked in on an attempt at making two french braids and was like "uh, want some help with that?" and cue a braiding lesson for apollo. apollo knows how to braid hair now (even though kayla doesn't need it as much seeing as her hair is so short), but she still has nico do it a lot of the time (brother sister bonding my heart THEY'RE SIBLINGS YOUR HONOR)

there is a picture somewhere of little will leo and nico at the T party (backstage meet and greet) of the speak now world tour with speak now era taylor. will never did realize until like college that apollo had reached out ahead of time to make sure he was chosen for a meet and greet (fun fact, sn world tour had an la date on aug 23) on his birthday, and thought that andrea had just chosen him randomly

bryce lawrence is out there somewhere fuming at nico's success and will attempt to make hate pages to discredit him but will never succeed

he's at least five years older than felix and bcuz their parents were Not great at being parents he actually spent a lot of his childhood raising felix and basically being parentified and thats why his relationship with felix is so fucked up and toxic bcuz calvin treats him more like a child that he still has to take care of and felix feels like he's never been treated as an equal (bcuz calvin mentally cant see him as an equal) they probably need to go to therapy together tbh

in general their parents were not great parents and treated their children more like employees in training and they expected to be idolized and worshiped (which they very much were and still are) they had a few good family moments but overall it was a very unhealthy upbringing?? calvin and felix both decided they didnt want kids bcuz they knew that their parenting style would be very similar and they (probably subconciously) didnt want to destroy a child the way they were destroyed

felix took out calvin's eye when he was just a kid maybe like 11 or 12 bcuz they were having a stupid arguement, he felt HORRIBLE and so guilty but calvin was like whatever its fine lmao He generally is so chill considering how many times felix has tried to murder or physically attack him, i dont think he ever really gets angry at felix or holds grudges bcuz thats his baby brother :)

calvin has been in very few serious romantic relationships bcuz he finds it difficult to commit to another person or actually care about them also women usually date him for his money which he's fine with but it doesnt lead to a real emotional connection (his realtionship with bob is ironically stronger than any romantic relationship he's ever been in)

^^ felix is the same way but he's totally okay with being used for his money he doesnt give a fuck (he secretly longs for an actual emotional connection though)

calvin is not straight but obviously was never open about this bcuz of how homophobic society was when he was growing up, he's always going out and having sex with male strippers/sex workers and everybody in town kinda knows but they keep quiet bcuz thats his personal buisness, the only person he's ever openly discussed this with is felix and never in any serious depth (felix promised to not tell their dad even though he knew that if he did he would be more likely to inherent his family's money and tbat is a promise he did keep)

calvin is actually very into fashion he just doesnt have a lot of opportunities to show off his knowledge, if bobs burgers wasnt a cartoon he would probably wear different extravagant outfits every single episode

mother fischoeder died when calvin was in his early 20s and it was an early death and probably due to an illness of some kind, his father died much later in life maybe when calvin was in his 50s

calvin absolutely loves reality tv drama shows like the bachelor and gets super into them and has favorite contestants, he invites felix to watch with him sometimes and its a brother bonding activity that they both enjoy <3

calvin wanted to be a singer when he was younger (before he took over the family business) and he will take any opportunity to sing in front of a crowd

Notes: ooof, my life has been freaking hectic.

Jin:

You were upset.

You always became upset when it was the last leg of your tour. Touring was a huge part of your life – seeing your fans who have supported you since the beginning, meeting them, and connecting with them. You knew that you always will see them again and be on that tour bus with your band members, but it still did not make you feel any better.

The sounds of your fans screaming could be heard from your dressing room, a sound that you will forever love. You were putting on your eye make up when your boyfriend, Seokjin, walked in with your stage outfit, holding a shocked look on his face.

“Why do you have that look on your face?” You asked with a small smile, only to be given a ‘what the fuck’ look in return.

“You’re really asking me that question?” Jin asked, “You’re wearing this outfit? What are you going for? A dead bride?” He asked, not knowing that he hit the jackpot.

“Actually, yes.” You answered, laughing at the confused look. “Remember? The last leg of the tour is all about the first album ‘The Dead Bride’?”

Making an ‘oh’ face at your explanation, your boyfriend sat the outfit down on the couch, walking up to you. He could sense your mood, a frown showing on his face. “You’re upset.” He stated, smirking at your face. “You know that I can sense whenever you’re upset. And I am assuming its because of the last leg of the tour.”

“How do you know me so well?” You sarcastically asked but sinking into his touch. “I just hate the thought of the tour being almost over. I just wish it could last forever.”

“I feel the exact same way, sweetheart.” He stated, only to chuckle a few seconds later, “You are exactly like Kook, he always becomes upset when tour is almost over.” Pausing, “Just remember, you have only three more months before Warped Tour starts, and you’ll be able to see All Time Low!”

“Two Minutes!” Your manager yelled.

“Yeah, you’re right…” You trailed off.

“I’m always right. I am Worldwide Smart Guy,” Seokjin said proudly, smiling at you through the mirror. “Now, go out there in your dead bride dress, and scream your lungs off. But not all of the way cause you need to save your voice for later tonight. Good luck, sweetheart!” He finished quickly, not giving you a chance to reply.

Yoongi:

Yoongi’s arms are crossed over his chest, body leant against the wall, eyes watching you intensely as you practice. He could not deny that you looked so beautiful in your casual, laid back – but dressed up outfit you were in. He knew that you loved looking presentable, but being comfortable, which is your beanie, ripped skinny jeans, black and white converse, black tank-top topped with a black and white flannel.

Every now and then you would glance to look at your boyfriend, always blushing when you notice that he is staring at you. To make you more flustered, Yoongi would wink at you, smirking at how you would try to hide your face with your hair. Once you were done speaking to your band members, you made your way to Yoongi. Smiling up at your boyfriend once you got to him, you allowed him to pull you in for a quick peck on the lips.

“What did you think?” You asked curiously, resting your head on his chest.

“I think you are badass.” Your boyfriend stated, bringing a blush to your cheeks.

“You think so?” You asked, insecure laced in your tone.

Looking down at you with a blank face, “You’re really an idiot sometimes.” Yoongi commented, earning a glare from you. “You have sold out three stadiums, performed at the Wembley stadium, and you’re questioning your ability to perform, play both guitar and drums, and sing like an angel? Damn, I am doing terrible as a boyfriend…” Yoongi trailed off, shaking his head.

Tears pricked your eyes, emotions overwhelming your senses, which led to you crashing your lips on Yoongis. Yoongi chuckled into the kiss, his smile having you pull away because his smile is rarely shown, so whenever he does smile, you cherish it.

“What?” Yoongi dragged out the ‘a,’ a whine gracing his voice. “Why are you looking at me like that?”

“Cause you’re beautiful when you smile,” you cheekily said, earning an eyeroll from the silver haired male.

“Okay you love birds,” your manager spoke, scaring the two of you. “Enough with the lovey dovy stuff, Y/N has to finish vocal warmups.”

Hoseok:

The first time you met Hoseok was when BTS was touring in the United States, the same time you were on tour – ironically in the same state. You were at a bar with your band, getting a drink after a concert. As you were heading to the bathroom, you bumped into a smiling man who was a little drunk off of whiskey. The sum it up, he pulled a terrible pick-up-line that he knew in English and you could not help but fall for him.

So, five months later, the both of you are dating.

Truthfully, Hoseok was shocked to learn that you were in an Alternative band, especially being the lead singer. When he found out that you could scream several lines without hurting your vocal cords, he somehow fell more in love with you. But he could not deny that he sometimes worried about you.

“Are you sure you can do this?” Hoseok asked, wanting to make sure that you are up for this song. He knew that you struggle with this particular song since it has more aggression than your usual mellow, upbeat songs.

“Yes, Hobi, I am sure about this.” You chuckled, giving him a weird look.

“I know, but I worry about you hurting yourself by overdoing it.” He sighed, giving you his puppy dog eyes.

Smiling wide up at him, heart beating just a little quicker by how loved and cared for you are by this man. Pressing a kiss to his cheek, “Don’t worry, I know my limits, like you know yours when it comes to dancing. So, if it doesn’t feel right during the performance, I’ll tone it down and give you our hand signal to let you know.”

“You promise?”

“Promise.”

Namjoon:

“Namjoon!” You screeched, heart stopping for just a quick second due to scene that is appearing right in front of you.

Your boyfriend, Namjoon, the clumsiest man you know, is handling your precious baby, Lydia. Turning around with an innocent look on his face, Namjoon watched you run up towards him like a mad woman. “What? What’s wrong?” He asked, oblivious to what is happening.

Grabbing Lydia, ever so gently but quickly, you took your pride and joy in your hands, holding her to your chest to protect her. “Are you okay, my precious little one.”

Realizing what is going on, Namjoon’s faced morphed into a rejected look. “Did you seriously think I was going to break your guitar?”

“Her name is Lydia.”

Scoffing, “You name your guitars?” He asked incredulously.

“Are you calling me crazy?”

“What? What – are you serious?”

“Are you?”

“No? I am just offended that you would think I’d break your guitar by just holding it—”

“-Her name is Lydia. And yes, you broke a glass floor, Namjoon.”

“You know what, I am ending this conversation and going to go and get me a pop.”

Looking at him with wide eyes, you could tell that you made him feel bad. So, quickly putting away Lydia, you grabbed your other guitar, Leo, and chased after your boyfriend. Jumping in front of him, you realized that you surprised him by your sudden appearance. A wide grin was on your face, now becoming skeptical by your actions.

“Are you okay, baby?”

“Yes! I’m sorry for making you feel bad – no, don’t try and deny it – so I wanted to apologize by giving, well, not giving, letting you play with Leo!” You said excitedly, handing Leo over to Namjoon, who hesitantly took into his hold. “Go ahead!” You encouraged your boyfriend to play your guitar. With one strum, two out of the six strings snapped, causing a yelp to escape from Namjoon.

Your face was blank whereas Namjoon’s held a scared look. “Uh, baby?” He asked after two minutes of silence.

“You have five seconds to start running before I kill you.” You stated in a mono tone.

Turning around, Namjoon took off into a full sprint, wanting to get away from you as quick as he could, not wanting to be taking on your wrath.

Jimin:

“So, you’re the Park Jimin that our Y/N talks about.” Alex Gaskarth assumed, walking up to Jimin with Jack Barakat and Vic Feuentes behind him.

Internally, Jimin felt intimidated, but on the outside,  he tried to stay calm. Jimin knows that Alex is a sweetheart, but he always knew that the man was never afraid to approach someone and tell them how he feels. With that, he knew that All Time Low and everyone on Warped Tour were protective of you because of how young and likeable you are. Plus, everyone viewed you as their little sister – the little sister with her first boyfriend.

“Yes, I am.” Jimin smiled, bowing at the group of men.

“How long have you known Y/N?” Jack asked, taking a sip of his drink.

“We met in May of 2019, have been dating since August of 2019. So, a year and two months now.”

The group of three men looked at each other, silently communicating with each other. “So,” Vic started, “What are your intentions with Y/N?” He asked, trying to not laugh at the blush on Jimin’s face.

“Well, I really do like her, love her actually. And, if things go as planned, I see myself with her for the rest of my life.”

The three men tried to not ‘awe’ at the orange haired man’s admission. As Alex was going to ask his next question, your voice cut him off, now having the four men attention.

“Guys! Do not scare Jimin away!” You exclaimed, running to your boyfriends’ side.

Even with the crazy hair and dark eye makeup, Jimin still thought you looked so beautiful.

“Oh, that’d be impossible.” Jack commented, smirk on his face.

“Very impossible.” Alex added, giving Jack and Vic a knowing look, a look that confused you greatly, but a look that Jimin knew which had him blushing.

“Okaaay,” you replied awkwardly. Looking up at Jimin, you smiled to him. “In This Moment is about to start! I want you to watch them live cause they are so good!” You stated before dragging your boyfriend away.

“He’s so going to propose to her soon.” Alex stated, earning a nod from the other two men.

Taehyung:

“I’m confused.” Taehyung admitted, catching your attention from on the stage.

“About what?” You asked, jumping off of the stage and walking over to your boyfriend who was seated in the first row.

“How are you able to scream and not lose your voice? Like, one time I yelled, and I lost it instantly! Do you have some sort of voodoo stuff to help you with that? What is your secret?!” Your boyfriend burst, catching you off guard.

“Uh, I guess it’s just from practice? Chris from Motionless in White and Maria Brink from In This Moment have been my mentors ever since I have begun my career.” You commented, laughing at Taehyung’s face morph into an understanding look.

“Wait. The scary guy and girl that I have seen you in pictures with?” He asked, causing you to laugh.

“Yes, those two.” You answered, “And they are not scary, it’s just their makeup and how they seem on stage and in music videos. I used to think the same thing until I talked to them.”

Taehyung was quiet for a moment. “So, would you teach me how to scream?” He asked in all seriousness. “I want to learn how you do it and maybe we can be the power screaming couple.”

You choked on your spit. “Are you serious?”

“Does it look like I am not serious?”

“I mean it does, but I just want to be sure. Plus, you’ll have to talk to Bang PD and see what he thinks.”

At your comment, Taehyung reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone. Clicking a few buttons, he put the phone to his answer. After a few words and silent moments, he hung up and put the phone in his pocket. “Bang agreed. But he wants me to have professional help and a lot of vocal coaches.”

Smirking to yourself, “Okay, I’ll give Chris and Maria a call and we can set up a day to begin!” You said excitedly, laughing at your boyfriends scared look.

“Wait! I didn’t say them!”

Jungkook:

Jungkook and the rest of BTS were seated in a VIP section while they waited for you to perform. Jungkook was antsy, this being the first time watching you perform live and seeing you in your, and in your joking words, ‘Emo clothes.’

“Are you nervous, Kookie?” Taehyung asked, noticing how antsy Jungkook was due to his constant need to be bouncing on the top of his toes. Taehyung’s question caught the other members attention.

“You okay, Kook?” Namjoon asked, giving a once over Jungkook, automatically noticing his younger brother’s nervousness.

“Yeah, I’m just a little nervous I guess.”

“Awe, how cute!” Seokjin exclaimed, making a baby face at his Maknae, earning a glare from the younger one.

“Now! Dear Me is on!” The announcer yelled into the microphone, earning cheers from the stadium and BTS.

Jungkook’s jaw dropped as he saw you walk onto stage in your performing clothes, clothes that made Jungkook sweat at his brow. He could not deny that you looked both innocent and sexy at the same time, the aura that you carried making you look unstoppable. Gulping, Jungkook tried to get his mind out of the gutter, wanting to focus on your performance. The other members could not help but chuckle at Jungkook’s reaction.

Once the concert was over, Jungkook was blushing severely when you walked up to him, a huge grin on your face, a grin only he and performers knew when they had the best concert ever.

“So!” You began, “What’d you think?”

Before Jungkook answered, Taehyung walked up with Hoseok on behind, the two men throwing their arms over Jungkook’s shoulders. “Oh, Y/N, Jungkook loved the concert.” Taehyung began, smirk on his face.

“A little too much.” Hoseok finished, a smirk on his face also.

Realizing what they meant, your face heated up, earning laughs and cheers from everyone around you besides Jungkook who was feeling the exact same way.

tell me the first song that made you stan your current fave group and why did your faves attract you so much?

Um okay so I’ll go with explaining BTS and TXT I guess, haha. For BTS it was DNA! That was the first mv I ever saw by them and I was instantly obsessed with everything about it. For TXT, it was obviously Crown since I was keeping an eye on them as soon as BH announced a new group haha. But I initially loved the super bright and happy concept from Crown and they totally got me hooked by their personalities and other music!!

This took way more digging in my mind than I would like to admit but when I saw 5sos live in 2016 my best friend and I had soundcheck, so we got to sit in the venue early and ask them questions and hear a few extra songs. At the time I had beef with Luke Hemmings (because the girl he was dating at the time was one of the most toxic people on earth) and he wouldn’t break up with her. So the girl sitting next to me at soundcheck raised her hand to ask Luke a question so of course he was looking basically right at me. We were like maybe 8 rows back from the stage and at this point in my life I had bright pink hair, so there was no missing me. So this girl is asking her innocent question, and naturally Luke looks around a bit and we make eye contact and instead of fangirling like a normal person, my anger at him boiled over and I ended up flipping him off. The whole band noticed and had to pretend they weren’t laughing at the oddly aggressive 9th grader who flipped off their lead singer. I still feel bad about it to this day lmao but all my friends think it’s hilarious and it’s definitely my go to party story.

The US education system has massive holes. I was lucky enough to attend a pretty good highschool and take good classes so I don’t feel like I was as robbed as other people, but there are curriculum gaps and misinformation everywhere you go. As far as college goes, I think it is wayyyy too expensive. Despite that, I still signed myself up for 8 years of debt so yes, I am a slave to the GPA. Gotta go hard for the dream job.

All the cool kids were doing these so now I finally dragged my ass into doing them too lmao. 

Albania- Fall from the Sky

A song I swear cursed this whole contest from the moment it won Festivali i Këngës. Like with the shitshow this song caused I just knew the whole year was fucked. With half the fandom whining they didn’t get their first club song of the year to the other half smugly shoving it as their winner despite no other songs being around to compare it to, the whole fiasco just left me knowing that 2020 would end in tears, just hopefully not my own. As for the song, it’s lame. It’s a standard ballad with OBSCENE amounts of autotune, which is weird because the girl can actually sing pretty decently without it, so why they decided to make her sound like a damn computer is beyond me. And WHY did they translate it, haven't the past few years proven that Albania's better off leaving their songs in Albanian? 

Armenia- Chains on You

A bootleg Ariana Grande song, and a really shit one at that. The kind of song only people who think being young, gay and mean counts as having a personality would say is good.

Australia- Don’t Break Me

One of the few decent Australian entries (but that REALLY isn’t saying much coming from me, I barely care they’re in the contest by this point) but marred by a horribly untidy performance and lacklustre lyrics. At least it’s not fucking pop-opera, that’s all I can say. I’d rather listen to the sound of my face being dragged down the runway at Heathrow airport than be subjected to another Zero Gravity.

Austria- Alive

One of those pseudo-jazz dance songs, á la Olly Murs or Bruno Mars (I swear there’s a song like this in every recent contest). I mean, it’s good, but it’s just kinda meh since I’m kinda getting tired of this genre rearing its fedora-wearing head every time a new lineup rolls in.

Azerbaijan- Cleopatra

One of the “better” trashy entries this year, comprised of about five different musical genres, six ancient cultures being appropriated and absolutely zero class. Probably sounds at least 50% better when you’re absolutely steaming drunk and face down on the floor in the middle of a gay bar.

Belarus- Da Vidna

Somehow, this song sounds both very unique and original yet trite and average at the same time. I couldn’t decide whether listening to it was a new experience or if I’d heard it a million times before.

Belgium- Release Me

A song which just drones on till it ends. I would say it’s ripping off the song that won last year, but it forgot that having a chorus stops your song from being three minutes of snooze.

Bulgaria- Tears Getting Sober

A typical breathy mumble-girl song, AKA a genre I can’t fucking stand. Really don’t see the hype with this one, the melody is pretty but the vocals are out for lunch and it’s otherwise completely and utterly boring.

Croatia- Divlji Vjetre

One of the token big dramatic ballads you listen to once, enjoy, then forget about until Darius in the Discord server plays it one night whilst you’re hitting up the radio bot with requests. You’ll find that “nice, but forgettable” is a common theme for this year.

Cyprus- Running

Ironically Cyprus didn’t send a crappy Fuego knockoff for 2020, and I say ironically because a crappy Fuego knockoff would’ve actually stood out this year, and I say crappy because honestly Fuego wasn’t even all that great to begin with. "Running” itself is just one of those edgy tortured soul pop songs which, let’s be honest, would have been paired with an impressive performance which would’ve overshadowed how bland it is. Kind of like “You’re the Only One”. Or even Fuego for that matter.

Czech Republic- Kemama

Standard Afro-pop, a genre we don't often see at the contest so I'll let it pass. I feel like this is the kind of song that’s infinitely better live, and that it would’ve been one of those songs that suddenly became a frontrunner after the semi finals, but I guess we’ll never know eh?

Denmark- Yes 

The quintessential mid-10s Eurovision song. It's got guitars, happy people, Scandinavian origins… it’s just a typical radio guitar song, nothing special.

Estonia- What Love Is

I mean it's better than La Forza. Granted, the sound of someone pissing directly onto a microphone installed in the bowl of a toilet would sound better than La Forza but still. Going back to this song, it’s just... a standard Eastern-ballad with some very desperate lyrics. It feels kind of outdated, if I’m honest. Like something about this just reeks of 2011.

Finland- Looking Back

Yet another dreary, forgettable ballad. It comes to something when the best song they COULD have sent was a party song which sounded like it was from the mid 90s. At least that song was memorable. That said, this one at least has some decent lyrics. Bravo for that I guess.

France- Mon Alliée

France decides to say “fuck it” to being an underground fan-favourite and takes a leaf out of the UKs book by sending the same rent-a-Swede schlock they’ve been sending since 2015. I’m just confused as to why anyone in their right mind would choose to follow the UKs example but you do you France.

Germany- Violent Thing

A rehash of Sweden's entry from two years ago, but this time sung by Justin Bieber circa 2008. Kind of alright if you can stomach the singer's whiny voice, but otherwise pretty dull and kinda forgettable.

Greece- Superg!rl

Hello fellow kidz, we are hearing you like the girl power? The super heroes? The t3xt $p3ech? We made you song, please give us the votes *dabs*

Georgia- Take me as I Am

I mean… this sure is a choice. This feels like one of those songs that everyone memes on because the lyrics are kinda janky and the singer’s voice (and accent) take a bit of getting used to, but other than that it’s just one of those NQ songs for hipster fans to declare as their unironic winner at a later date. All in all this just feels like the male equivalent of one of those mid-10s fat acceptance women’s songs, only a lot shoutier and this time he has more flaws than not being skinny.

Iceland- Think About Things 

A bootleg George Ezra song, performed by a load of disinterested tumblr users in their pyjamas. Because if there’s one thing that sells me on a song, it’s being given the evils by a bunch of nerds who look like they’ll send me death threats for not agreeing with their Pokémon headcanons. To be fair, the song is kind of groovy since it sounds so 70s, but the performance is very off-putting to people who aren’t in the Eurovision loop. And also people who are, because I sure as Hell don’t see the appeal in this myself and this whole performance just feels like Save Your Kisses for Me without the charm. I feel like this would’ve come second or third, definitely with a lot of televotes but either the jury would’ve dragged it down or it wouldn’t have scored enough televotes to win.

Ireland- Story of my Life

A song that’s at LEAST ten years out of date by this point, think like an early Katy Perry, Jessie J or Avril Lavigne song. I’ll forgive it because even though it sounds like it should’ve been entered in 2013 (at the latest), it at least evokes some nostalgic memories of shitty school discos and holiday parks.

Israel- Feker Libi

The female equivalent of the Czech song. Unsurprisingly, people went wild for it when it was released. I guess only women are allowed to sing Afro-pop at this contest. Like with the Czech song, I’ll forgive it since Afro-pop is a cool genre anyway, and even though this is just another club song I can at least see myself dancing to it.

Italy- Fai Rumore

Well, at least my wish of “Italy sends a typical power ballad devoid of anything the mainstream fandom likes” finally came true. It was pretty refreshing to have a year where people weren’t shoving Italy’s entry up my nose left right and centre. In terms of my actual thoughts I can’t deny that the guy has a tremendous voice, but for some reason the song just doesn’t… click with me. I guess I like my male Italian singers a little more gruff and raspy, if you know what I mean. They gotta sound like they smoke at LEAST five packets of cigarettes a day for me to take notice.

Malta- All of my Love

Listen I am 100% rooting for Destiny Chukunyere to win this contest some day but man was this song a disappointment. It feels so… un-special and generic, like it gets the job done and that’s it. It’s not the stand-up-and-belt-it-out soul anthem I’d hoped for, it’s just… there.

Moldova- Prison

All I remember about this song is that it vaguely reminds me of that one Meccano song about the gypsy who makes a deal with the moon or something. And I’ve TRIED to remember more about what it sounds like, trust me.

Latvia- Still Breathing

The one horrible weird song you get every year which overuses strobe effects to the point it comes with an epilepsy warning. Would be bearable if it wasn't for the singer’s insistence that this is actually some feminist masterpiece when it's really just a self-empowerment club song about the singer fingerbanging herself over the fact she writes music.

Lithuania- On Fire

One of the songs everyone thought was going to win at one point, even though it seems like a surefire non-qualifier to me. It’s one of those weird entries, but not the kind of over the top, batshit insane, you’d-have-to-be-drunk-to-enjoy-it weird, the kind of subdued surreal weird. Like this is weed instead of LSD or cocaine weird. Granted my mom, who I consider to be a "typical" Eurofan, actually really liked this song when she saw it in the recaps, so who knows maybe this would have done well with televoters after all.

Netherlands- Grow

I appreciate this song for how artsy and clever it is with its structure, since it starts off acapella and the instrumental builds up with the song until it stops suddenly, symbolising a person’s growth from a child into an adult, and ending suddenly with their death (Geddit? The song’s called “Grow”). But it feels like the kind of song that would be lost on a Eurovision audience. The juries would have taken note, for sure, but the televote… let’s be honest, they’d have been too busy drunk voting for Russia to care about anything else.

North Macedonia- You

Well, it's better than the miserable dirge they sent last year, but given how I'd rather pleasure myself with a steak knife than listen to that song, that really isn't saying much. Going back to “You”, it really just feels like a diet version of Switzerland’s entry from last year, combined with Sweden’s song from 2018. What I’m saying is it’s your average “I’m a man in a club and I want to dance with and probably fuck this hot girl I just met” song, which I a new genre I just made up. You’re welcome.

Norway- Attention 

One of those songs you appreciate because it sounds nice and the singer has a good voice, but instantly forget because it’s really not all that interesting. If I sound like I'm repeating myself, welcome to Eurovision 2020.

Poland- Empires

“Rise Like a Phoenix” but sung by a wannabe Adele and not a mascara-wearing Jesus in a dress. Like a lot of other songs on this list, it’s just average across the board, likeable when it’s on, but instantly forgettable as soon as the next song comes on.

Portugal: Medo de Sentir

Pretty, but also similar to their ill-fated 2018 entry, only with a bit more energy and less pink hair. What I’m saying is this would have been another NQ unless the crowd who enjoy subtle ambience music come in to save it like they did with Slovenia's entry last year.

Romania- Alcohol You

See Bulgaria, because this is practically the same song. It’s just as dreary, just as badly sung (if not worse because holy shit this girl sounds like she’s being suffocated), and I suppose you COULD excuse that by saying she’s drunk or hungover… but I don’t want to listen to someone ungracefully mumble into a microphone for three minutes.

Russia- Uno

A classic big camp party song, the kind of song people who haven’t watched Eurovision since 2003 think wins on the regular. I can see why people would like it (especially in this boring year lmao, I applaud Russia for taking the opportunity to loosen their corset and just send a complete mess instead of their usual clinical vote grabs), but it’s just not something I enjoy. It's the song that plays into the misconception that Eurovision is just a clown show for drunk people, like this is just here to be that one flash-in-the-pan meme song that only entertains people who don’t really care about Eurovision until the day before it airs. Kind of like the old ladies they sent in 2012 (remember them?).

San Marino- Freaky!

San Marino, in true Sammarinese fashion, have yet again sent a decade-ambiguous song which sounds like it was either released in 1978 or 2003. I feel like this would have been one of those songs which could have surprised us if it had a really wacky, creative performance (think like Moldova in 2018), but this is San Marino so you know that would never happen.

Serbia- Hasta la Vista

Insert unoriginal joke about a decade wanting their shitty trend back right here. Okay maybe that’s a bit harsh, especially considering how this song is actually, yanno, unique in comparison to the rest of this year. But it still feels weirdly dated, in a way where I can’t decide whether it sounds like it belongs in 1998 or 2018. I suppose girl power ages a song regardless of when it was released.

Slovenia- Voda

Yet another standard Balkan-European power ballad which you appreciate because it’s well sung, but forget the moment it ends because it’s kinda boring. … Does anyone else have a bit of deja vu?

Spain- Universo

For some reason I feel like this song is shilling itself out to someone but I have no idea who. Aside from the horny people voting solely because the singer is moderately attractive even with that wretched Jedward haircut.

Sweden- Move

Imagine soul but… boring.

Switzerland- Répondez Moi

Imagine Arcade but… in French.

United Kingdom- My last Breath

Not the best the UK could have done, but it’s at least a modern offering unlike the residual dregs of the mid-90s that we sent throughout the 2010s. It’s definitely a bit too generic to have done any better than maybe 15th, but hey at least the cancellation means we won’t have to see it not do as well as the BBC thinks it’s entitled to do, prompting a billion clickbait articles about how Brexit somehow affected our performance.

Ukraine- Solovey

At long last we come to something you probably weren't expecting: a song I actually really like. Which is weird because I usually don't care for or don't like whatever Ukraine vomits into the contest, so I was pleasantly surprised to find a song I liked from them in such a weak year. This song isn’t for everyone, it’s white noise singing which is a very acquired taste, but this is honestly the only 2020 song I find myself coming back to over and over. And it’s in Ukrainian too, so you don’t have to put up with their usual mangled English offerings.

     hey lads!!! i’m reese ( 21, est, they/them ) and this here is clarke. i’ve played too many versions of him but i’ve revamped him a bit here to make him a slightly better player so he can have the contract that would let him fit somewhat into this rp lmao. all you need to know about me is that i fucking love hockey and my og team fucking sucks so all i’ve done for the past five years is love on prospects and watch them develop and ( sometimes ) make it to the nhl. so i apologize in advance for going absolute ham on the details of clarke’s path to the nhl no one cares abt. clarke’s a mix of some of my fav nhl prospects and players which i’ll list at the end if anyone cares. also i don’t really know anything about the rangers besides lundqvist being the king and how to properly pronounce skjei so bear with me here.

THE STORY

--- clarke williams was born on the coldest day of december in a snowstorm, it was only fitting then he would love the cold like nothing else. he fell in love with skating long before he did the sport of hockey : he loved how it made him feel, how exhilarating and freeing it was. when he was eight, he picked up his first hockey stick ( a little LATE by some standards ) and fell in love again.

--- he ascended beyond his peers quickly, driving the game from the blue line even at a young age. his high school made a bid for the coveted state championship TWICE : once his freshman year and again his sophomore year. they never did make it all the way and that’s something he wishes he could have experienced. despite not winning it all, he was noticed by scouts and invited to the tryout camp for the us national team development program. he made the program and finished his last two years of high school with the ntdp in ann arbor, michigan with the u17 and u18 teams, respectively.

--- after his graduation from the program, he was selected in the second round of the 2013 NHL draft, 49th overall to the san jose sharks ( IRONICALLY, that draft pick was originally from the rangers ). he was scouted by the university of north dakota, quinnapiac, and university of minnesota; ultimately, he committed to north dakota, the first school to offer him a scholarship. his freshman year he was selected to team usa at the 18u world juniors where they won gold (2014 u18 wjc), and again his junior year to the 20u world juniors where they won bronze (2016 wjc).

--- the end of his junior year he chose to sign his entry level contract with the sharks instead of finishing his final year at north dakota : they made the frozen four all three years of his tenure, finally winning it all in 2016. it seemed like a fitting time to move on. waiting out the full four years of college and going to free agency had never been on clarke’s mind, the sharks were the ones who’d seen something in him, drafted him, and believed in him — he was always going to sign with them. he finished the 15-16 season on a professional try out with the sharks’ ahl team, the san jose barracuda.

—- the next season (16-17) he played for the barracuda and was called up at the end of the season when injuries plagued the team. he played well during the playoffs but was held to no points and the next season despite his best efforts, he was sent down to the barracuda halfway through training camp. that season (17-18) he was called up in january, once again the sharks made playoffs and he played in them, building upon his progress from the season prior. he entered the off-season feeling like he was in a good place and ready to work through the season, determined to make the big club in october.

—- however, that off-season brought chaos. he’d already flown into san jose for training camp when his agent called with news of a trade. clarke was sent to ottawa as one of the many pieces in the erik karlsson trade. but it didn’t end there, he was still packing when news of a second trade hit : he’d been flipped to the new york rangers in exchange for a third round pick.

—- he arrived at rangers training camp with something to prove, determined to show not one but two teams they’d made a mistake in trading him. he still didn’t make the team straight out of camp, but he played a mere three games with the hartford wolfpack before an injury hit the rangers and he got the call to join the big club. determined to not let this opportunity slip through his hands, he played his heart out on the ice, having an impressive breakout season and establishing his place as a talented two-way defenseman. he did not get sent back down that year (18-19).

—- this past off-season, the team took a gamble and signed him to a lengthy contract instead of a bridge deal, 6 years 4.5 AAV. he starts the first year of this contract this upcoming season.

MISC

—- clarke spends his summers in minnesota at his family’s lake house. he 100% has that dumb minnesota energy and posts videos of him wakeboarding all the time. when he’s not training and preparing for the season or playing in da beauty league ( a summer minnesota hockey league ), he’s probably on a boat. he’s most likely just returned to new york very recently.

—- very calm off the ice ; very easy-going and likes to keep things light. it’s his way with dealing with stress and pressure : just pretend it isn’t there and it won’t affect you.— he’s a hella private person but kinda not in an obvious way?? like he doesn’t share much about himself, esp what he’s feeling or even when massive things happen in his life; even his mom doesn’t know a lot of things that happen/happened to him. however, at the same time he’s extremely personable and friendly, which makes it not super obvious to his friends that they don’t really know a ton about him until they really think about it.

— “tough as a junkyard dog” ; “an absolute beast” ; will play injured ( i don’t condone this and no one should but i can’t stop him… ). there’s this large blotchy thing on his neck that kinda looks like a hickey or rash but it’s actually a three a half inch scar he got when he was 16 when a skate slashed his neck. he’s very lucky it didn’t hit his main artery. it runs from about his adam’s apple and extends toward the side of his neck.

—- he lives in an apartment with two of his teammates during the season, it makes the rent a little more reasonable.

—- ain’t no lie, baby. bi bi bi. ( but on the DL obv ).

—- hockey may have been in clarke’s blood; however, his mother knew the merit of clarke being a well-rounded athlete : he ran cross-country and track, played baseball, and lacrosse. he especially excelled at baseball, but he absolutely hated the practices, so his stint with it did not last particular long. but he had a tough competitive streak, doing well in xc and track, and even lacrosse to a degree ( it certainly helped spades with his hand-eye coordination ). he started focuses more on hockey once hitting high school.

—- SEHNSUCHT : it’s a german word that roughly translates to a yearning for the future, and can maybe be considered a rough antonym for nostalgia. it’s rooted in a belief of constant improvement and that perfection is impossible to achieve ( but that it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t strive for it anyway ). it fits will very well ; he’s not one to dwell on the past and is constantly working to improve himself and his game.

—- he really likes being high up, not because of any sense of ego but actually being high up and looking down at things helps him keep things in perspective ( everything is just a small part of each other ).

—- he hates when people worry about him which is real ironic since he worries about everyone else too much ; be it his team, his friends, or family. it comes with being extremely loyal. on the ice he hates to see teammates pushed around and pretty much will always do something about it.

—- he was raised by a single mother and he appreciates her very much #doubleshifting. it’s given him a humble outlook on life and for a while, he worked as a line cook in a diner to help pay for his hockey equipment. he never wanted to make the nhl for the money or fame, he just wanted to make a living playing the sport he loved. the most he’s made the tabloids was when he briefly dated a model/singer ( possible wc??? ) — they broke up after three months: she couldn’t cope with his schedule and said he was distracted from her.

—- he studied aeronautics in college because besides going into the nhl, the one thing he wanted to be was a pilot.

—- there’s this video of brock boeser where he says “y’know” 45 times in a three minute interview and that’s clarke trying to do media. ( like i said, dumb minnesota energy ).

—- PLAYING STYLE : clarke is an excellent two-way defenseman. his most prominent skill is his ability to skate. he’s very quick and evasive and very good on his edges. he’s good at defensive zone exits and capable of jumping up in the rush, and his speed allows him to get back quickly if he needs to. his slapshot finds its way through traffic and he’s looking to get more minutes on the second powerplay on the point. he can throw big hits when necessary and doesn’t hesitate to sacrifice his body to block shots. he’s good muscle on the ice when scrums break out.

taylor is incredibly business-oriented; she doesn’t like to use the word calculating to describe her but there is an absolute method to her madness and she’s whip smart. she, for the most part, knows exactly what she is doing when she does it. as the years have gone by, she has strayed from the whimsical, carefree approach on life and everything she does is mapped out to a T. she’s iron-clad in her defenses and every move she makes has contingency plans for contingency plans. i think of it like this: her 1989 era was very rigid and impersonal after the release of the album. during the drama of 2016 taylor took her space and because she was out of the public eye, had to learn how to rework her life without such rigid structure. the reputation era was very blase and ‘i don’t give a fuck’ and the lover era is veering back into that commercial, "faces on, people !!” tone — because of all this, she can sometimes come across as cold and detached to the reality around her ? she’s in tune with the world but sometimes she doesn’t get that she has to switch the lens of ‘this is a business move’ into like, real life

Task #6 part 1/3 - Soundtrack to Your Life: Create a playlist that reflects a significant story moment for your character

I had three ideas so I’m going just do all three, yolo.

First up is Franny! A playlist of songs she would cover at gigs in Nashville as a Belmont songwriting student in 2001! Each description will also feature links to covers on YouTube that fit the acoustic vibe of the gigs, so feel free to check them out too if you’re a super Franny stan.

Franny would often open with this one. 80s country is often overlooked and forgotten, but she really loves it. Seven Year Ache was a big hit but one people in 2001 may not remember too well, but often when she began to sing it people were like “wait! I remember this!”

2. Poor, Poor Pitiful Me by Linda Ronstadt and popularized again in the 90s by Terri Clark [cover, love her accent shining through]

This was another good option for Franny to open with, a stronger open than Seven Year Ache, but she often liked to open with an unexpected song that didn’t show off the most amazing things she could do with her voice. This was a crowd pleaser no matter what.

3. Drivin’ My Life Away by Eddie Rabbit [cover]

Franny really liked to make most of her covers be songs more than five years old. Working in Nashville at a live music venue, I’ve noticed people all cover the same 20 Classic Songs and then do current covers. They’re all more talented than me but if I was a performer I’d purposely try to pull out more unexpected songs that folks would know to stand out. And that’s what Franny did, leaning on artists like Eddie Rabbit when everyone else was singing the same 20 covers.

3.1 Alternatively, his song I Love A Rainy Night was a go-to cover of hers, and she still plays both of these songs as the one cover at shows now and then. [cover]

4. It’s a Little Too Late - Mark Chesnutt [cover]

You might be noticing a pattern--- Franny loves to sing country songs originally sung by men. It’s an unexpected move to make at time and that’s what Franny liked to do, do anything to stand out. This song was popular in the 90s and its popularity didn’t hold on like, say, Trisha Yearwood’s She’s In Love With The Boy did, but if you were a country fan in 2001 you likely were in 1991 as well and when she played it, it came back to you.

5. Angel of The Morning by Juice Newton [cover]

She’d usually sandwich this song between a high energy country song and then an Alanis Morisette cover. I like the cover I linked because her voice is simialr to how I HC Franny’s singing voice is? So yes, definitely give it a listen!

6. Head Over Feet by Alanis Morisette [cover]

Of course she loves Alanis Morisette, she was a teenage girl in the 90s! She’d often cover You Oughta Know actually, like all the singers in Nashville do nowadays too. But! If the girl who had a set before her did You Oughta Know, Franny would do Head Over Feet instead. A bit more of a B-side, but one fans of Alanis Morisette or even casual listeners in 2001 would know. And set her apart from the five girls covering You Oughta Know or Ironic.

7. Ode To Billie Joe by Bobbie Gentry [cover by a girl that sings at my workplace lol she’s even better live]

Franny’s weakness is a damn good story song and a haunting song. This is both. This song was a showstopper-- people would stop talking at the restaurants she gigged at to listen to her.

Franny loved this band in the 90s, saw them live like four times lmao. Everyone sang Zombie --- still do, lmao I hear it once a shift at work at least. Linger was also a go to. So Franny chose to make Dreams be her go-to Cranberries song.

I genuinely feel confident that with the right outfit and a little nip & tuck for the extra skin I’ve got from losing all that weight (from 232 at my worst, to an ALMOST healthy 160 lbs!!! I genuinely feel better than I usually do, which is ironic because my cancer is def  N O T  doin’ better anywhere lmao), I could become a successful metal or goth singer. I’ve got the sweet angellic voice, I’ve got the sinister and sexy voice down, I’ve even got the extreme emotion down (basically, vocally I’m a less experienced, less practiced Shirley Manson from Garbage). Well, one of the things about finally being close enough to my expiration date to know what the likelyhood of ilving past ten more years is (spoiler alert: judging by the advancement of my cancer only, maybe a pair of years or a little more. However, factoring in that I actually feel fuckin’ fantastic for the first time in my life, that’d tack on another year at least. It gets unpredictable with me.)

3. inspire at least one person

Let's get one thing straight. Eddie did not intend to end up hiding in a bathroom stall. It was Stan's fault.

Stan was extremely talented in the musical field, as humble as he would try and be. He had taken piano lessons since he was a kid, and had gotten amazing over the years. Eddie never thought Stan would need anybody's help with things regarding music. Especially Eddie's. But here he was.

Eddie liked to sing. He sang a lot when he was alone, whether it be in the shower or in his room along to a favorite song. Most of the Losers were unaware of this, mostly because Eddie knew he was terrible, and because he had never been in a situation where he needed to sing in front of anybody.

The only one of his friends that had heard him sing was Stan, and that was because he had caught Eddie in the shower once when he came over to study.

But that was two months ago, and Eddie had nearly forgotten it had happened. Until Stanley came up to him frantically one day during study hall.

Second period study hall was a class that Richie, Ben, Eddie and Stan all had together, and Stan was never late for it, same as his other classes. The three that were present should have known something was up when the bell rang and still no sign of Stan, but they all just waited.

"He might be sick." Ben had suggested. "I was on FaceTime with him last night studying for our history test and he sounded awful."

"He would have texted the group chat. Or at least one of us." Richie contradicted. He did have a point, Eddie thought absentmindedly. Stan always made sure to tell them where he was and, in this case, where he wasn't.

"He's fine." Eddie jumped at a voice behind him. Whipping around, he saw that it belonged to Stan. Richie grinned.

"Nice entrance, Staniel!" He chuckled. Stan rolled his eyes and turned to Eddie.

"I need your help." He said simply. Eddie raised an eyebrow.

"With what?" He asked, but Stan was already pulling him from his seat.

"You'll see, just come with me." Richie waved goodbye but looked confused, along with Ben.

"Hope you don't mind if your mom and I get it on while your gone, Eds. Don't be long!" Richie called out, earring a playful slap from Ben.

Stan lead Eddie down the hallway until they were right outside the music room. "Listen, Eddie, I know this won't exactly be your cup of tea, but I really need your help with this. So hear me out." Stan said cautiously. Eddie shrugged.

"Sure, but again, what is it exactly?" He asked. Stan sighed, clearly exasperated.

"So I haven't played out for anything in forever, since piano is just a fun thing for me and I've only been asked to perform at an event three times. But somehow, Bill's cousin heard me through a video Bill posted on YouTube two months ago and she contacted me yesterday and asked me to play the piano for her at her talent show, which is, of course, tomorrow. Problem is, I don't know the song, and I need somebody to sing along with it to get me used to playing it." Stan explained, clearly worried about the situation. Ben was right, he sounded rough, and looked it, too. There were dark circles under his eyes and his normally tame curls were wild.

"Here's where you come in. I know you know this song, Eddie, I heard you singing it once and you sounded really good, plus you're the only one of the Losers that can carry a damn tune, so just for a few minutes can you help me?"

At first, Eddie was reluctant. But Stan was basically begging him, and it would only be the two of them.

"Okay, sure." Eddie responded, instantly seeing Stan's face light up and watching him let out a long withheld breath.

"Thanks, Eddie. The song is Chandelier by Sia."

Eddie's first thought? Fuck.

He did know that song, yes, but it went pretty high. Even for him, who had what he would consider a fairly high singing voice, that was high. But if Stan needed help, he would do it. Besides, he didn't need to sound good, it's not like anybody would be recording this shit.

He found out, though, that it was easier when he was in the moment. When Stan started playing the piano, a few keys lower because Eddie definitely couldn't sing in Sia's key, Eddie faced away from the piano and closed his eyes, imagining he was all alone again. When he opened his mouth and let the song flood out all the worries of hitting the high notes and keeping his voice from cracking disappeared.

And Eddie was once again reminded how much he loved music.

Study hall was boring without Eddie. Richie realized this five minutes after the smaller boy left.

"Hey Ben, what do you think they're up to?" Ben shrugged, looking up from his science textbook.

"Probably just a project." Richie fake yawned.

"Haystack, your fantasies are boring. I think they're having a steamy affair." He wiggled his eyebrows, making Ben smirk.

"Well then, Trashmouth, if you're so invested in this then why don't you go see? Plus, Eddie would never get with Stan." As much as Richie wanted to push it down, this made him hopeful. He knew Stan and Eddie weren't a thing, he just wished Eddie knew how much Richie liked him.

"Ya know, my good fellow, I think I shall." He put on a British accent and started to pack up his bag. Richie never really did much during study hall, he mostly just talked to his friends or watched Netflix on their school issued computers. School was easy for him, so studying was something he didn't need to spend a lot of time doing. Plus, he always felt like he had to be doing something different at all times, so going over notes for 45 minutes wasn't exactly his forte.

As Richie started down the hallway, he realized that he had no clue where exactly he was going. That was, until he heard the singing from the music hallway.

"I feel the love, feel the love

one two three one two three, drink

one two three one two three, drink

one two three one two theee, drink

throw 'em back 'til I lose count"

The smooth male voice filled his ears and instantly made his jaw drop open. Richie knew the Sia song, it was in the radio all the time. He hadn't ever really liked it before, but this, this was so much different. The boy sang with such ease, as if he could sing this song in his sleep. The notes sounded effortless, and Richie made his way down the hallway as if almost in a trance.

If he had thought the beginning of what he heard was good, the chorus struck him like a bullet.

"I'm gonna swing

As Richie approached the doorway, he opened the cracked open door and, if possible, became even more shocked.

The singing boy was Eddie. His Eddie Spaghetti who had never once in all the years Richie had known him sang. At least not to Richie.

"I'm gonna fly

like a bird through the night

feel my tears as they dry"

At this point Richie had seen Stan behind the piano, and he had been noticed by him as well. He didn't seem to mind, just raised his eyebrows and looked back down at his sheet music. But Eddie had no idea that Richie was behind him and falling slowly more in love with him every second.

"Yeah I'm gonna swing

He watched Eddie lift his arms up slightly and spin around towards Richie, eyes still closed and completely in the moment.

"And I'm holding on for dear life

won't look down won't open my - "

Ironically, Eddie opened his eyes at that moment and saw the speechless Richie staring back at him. His face turned a shade of strawberry red and he looked over at Stan panicked. The piano had faded out slowly after Eddie abruptly stopped singing.

"Why'd you stop?" Stan asked, before realizing Eddie had no idea that Richie had joined them.

"Yeah, Eds. That was amazing, damn. I-I had no idea you could-" Richie was cut off by Eddie running past him out of the room. Stan dropped his head down to the piano keys and sighed exasperatedly. But Richie didn't pay him much attention, as he too was sprinting down the hallway after Eddie seconds later.

"Eddie!" He yelled after his friend. Eddie had always been a fast runner, even when he thought that he had asthma.

He eventually caught up with him in the boy's bathroom. Eddie had locked himself in a stall and wouldn't come out.

"Eddie, come on. Why are you hiding in here?" Richie asked, out of breath. He leaned against the bathroom stall and caught his breath.

There was no response from Eddie.

"Come on, Eds. You can't ignore me forever, I know you're in there." Richie taunted.

"Don't call me Eds." Eddie grumbled, unlocking the bathroom stall. Richie stepped away from the stall door, allowing Eddie to walk out.

"You weren't supposed to hear anything. Nobody was. Stupid fucking Stanley." Eddie said, looking down at the ceramic floor tile. Richie inched closer.

"But you don't need to be embarrassed, Eddie. Honestly, that was the best singing I've ever heard." Richie said, softening his usually loud voice.

"Beep beep, Richie." Eddie said, avoiding Richie's gaze persistently.

"No, don't 'beep beep' me. I mean it, Eddie." Richie was right in front of him now. "That was fucking amazing. I can't believe I never knew this about you."

"I'm not exactly good." Eddie finally gave in and looked up at Richie's eyes. "I'm not musically talented like Stan or Mike. I just sing alone."

"But you are, Eddie Spaghe-"

"Don't even think about it Richie." Eddie interrupted with a grin. "You know I hate that." Richie was smiling now, too. He took Eddie's face in his hands, breaking the tension.

"You are amazing, Eddie Kaspbrak. You know that?" Eddie blushed once again, and in a spur of the moment decision pulled Richie's face down and kissed him. It wasn't much, just a peck, but it was enough to light Richie's heart on fire. Before anything more could happen, however, Stanley walked into the bathroom. The two boys moved apart quickly.

"There you fucking are! Are you okay, Eddie?" He asked, glaring at Richie. Eddie looked up at Richie once more and smiled faintly, before turning to Stan.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Do you wanna sing it again?"
