my notes/thoughts on AM/MK Dublin night 1 (15/10/23)

Milex: i DID mourn the lack of tlsp/505 (even if the 505 piano intro+the strings version was touching)

My guess is that there will be a common appearance after all (fandom on the verge of collapse)

I agree that Miles wants his space/own recognition. But please, boys, do it! play together! especially on this emotionally charged occasion, the ending of The Car era...

Miles: a very solid performance! The bestest moment and peak crowd interaction was COTT, simply breathtaking (his face in the end tho🥺 ) Inhaler and DFWYA were great too!

The Wonder was played pretty fast, the lack of back vocals apparent.

At some point I felt like Miles was kinda nervous, but idk, maybe i'm overthinking

Monkeys: Monkeys were spot on musically/ the crowd was hyped mostly for AM/early tunes. The string arrangement made the whole thing 100 times better, first with SOAG and then from Mirrorball to Hello You. Mirrorball ! ! So dreamy, so powerful ! ! (rest of the setlist predictable)

-after Fluorescent: "do you remember?"

-after Cornerstone: "we kept in touch"

-before Body Paint: "this is (?) for Miles Kane" (IF he dedicated THIS song to Miles -puts milex glasses on- this is HUGE guys...)

The Body Paint outro was amazing, strings enhancing the chaotic energy.

Alex was not very talkative and - compared to other gigs - not overly performative either (weird)

I 'd like to imagine that they really want to be on stage together and yesterday they were just missing eachother

Yes, the whole vibe was beautiful and sad at the same time. it was like tlsp but without them

Two things

First, your shoulder makes an amazing shelf for your phone, which is ironic because I've spent all day frustrated that my shoulders won't go underwater

Second, I was imagining a shirtless Boba Fett in swimming trunks, cause that scene in The Mandalorian where he's claiming his armour back hints at a beautiful soft tum

But then I thought about Boba Fett in his green armour, and oh god, he's never looked sexier than when he's in full Mandalorian armour

So I don't know how long it's been but I'm sat in the jacuzzi hot tub thinking about how beautiful the man looks dressed for battle 🥵

Was so torn between Connolly and Wild Youth - happy for the lads because they really wanted it, and I can see the song really working in front of the arena crowd. I love the song, even if it is cheesy 💖

I really hope Connolly goes far after this 🤞

Lesson learnt

Don't go into an Irish inn and ask for Coke especially if your accent means you don't pronounce the last consonant sounds in a word 😅

this is probably why my sister got confused when we were in dublin and i just wanted to go tescos.

or wander away from the main drag to find the little out of the way coffee shop, or the thai noodle bar.

or go to the laundromat.

or while the GPO does have a great 1916 museum, it felt really cool to just go there to mail a postcard.
