sorry thinking about dido in barbarians being named dido and it’s probably just the easiest carthaginian name to come up with but in a series a bit the horrors committed by the roman empire she is named after one of the first victims sacrificed for rome and then she meets germanicus and he doesn’t recognise her she means nothing to him she’s just another victim like the original dido and like carthage itself
