Berulang kali aku mempertanyakan itu kepada diriku sendiri. Prosesku mengajak hubungan yang lebih serius dengan Fathia banyak mendapatkan komentar yang beragam dari beberapa teman-temanku. Beberapa ada yang mendukung, namun beberapa justru mempertanyakan apakah aku sudah memikirkannya dengan matang.

Dua kontras jawaban yang berbeda dari teman lingkaranku membuat aku menjadi setengah-setengah. Ingin lanjut namun ragu, tapi juga ingin berhenti tapi sayang jika prosesnya harus berhenti di tahap ini.

Mungkin ini sebabnya beberapa seniorku selalu menasihati orang yang sedang bertaaruf. Bahwa, kita harus menyembunyikan prosesnya. Segala prosesnya. Dengan siapa, sudah sampai tahap mana, dan lain sebagainya. Jika semua sudah fiks, barulah teman-teman kita diberitahu kabar bahagianya melalui surat undangan pernikahan. 

Memang sesuatu yang diam-diam akan selalu memudahkan seseorang dalam bekerja. Namun nasi telah menjadi bubur. Beberapa temanku sudah tahu bahwa aku sedang menjalani proses taaruf dengan Fathia, entah dari mana kabar itu. Tiba-tiba saja mereka mengetahui kabar itu dan menanyakan kebenarannya kepadaku.

“Lo serius ngajakin Fathia taaruf? Gila ya emang nyali lo.” Kata temanku lantang karena kaget mengetahui bahwa aku sedang berproses taaruf dengan Fathia. 

Kami sedang berada di cafe siang ini. Hanya berdua, aku dan sahabatku. Tempat nongkrong bergaya insustrial ini cukup terkenal buat orang-orang yang bekerja di daerah kami. Tempat yang cukup sepi, bersih, dan dilengkapi dengan gaya yang estetik menjadikan cafe ini pilihan bagi orang-orang melepas lelahnya setelah bekerja seharian di kantornya. Itulah alasanku disini sekarang bersama temanku.

“Ya serius lah. Emang aku pernah bercandaan ya soal perempuan? Dari dulu aku kan juga ga pernah tuh ngejalin hubungan asmara dengan siapapun. Ya itu karena aku emang nggak pernah bercanda soal perempuan.” Jawabku santai.

“Tapi maksudku tuh gini, kamu kan tau Fathia ini orang yang kaya raya. Dunia dia tuh udah yang kayak dunia berbeda gitu loh buat kita. Ya emang sih dia tuh orangnya emang humble banget. Tapi apa dia mau buat suatu hari nanti pergi naik motor bareng elu? Kan dia biasanya naik mobil. Terus, apa dia mau buat nyoba masakin di rice cooker terus makan tahu tempe yang kayak dulu pernah kita lakuin di pondok? Lu kira Fathia tuh kayak mbak-mbak santri yang serba bisa gitu?” Temanku menjawab lagi pertanyaanku dengan bertubi-tubi seperti seorang ibu yang ingin menyadarkan anaknya yang telah berbuat salah.

Iya, aku tahu bahwa Fathia memang orang yang berbeda status dengan kami berdua, tapi jika memang itu adalah orang yang cocok menurutku, mau bagaimana? 

Aku juga pernah membaca tulisan Habiburrahman di Ayat-Ayat Cinta, beliau mengatakan bahwa seharusnya para lelaki tak cepat minder dengan apa yang dimiliki oleh seorang perempuan, karena kita para lelaki mempunyai teladan yang sempurna yaitu Rasulullah yang juga menikah dengan seseorang yang cantik, baik perangainya, dan juga kaya. Ketika itu, Rasulullah hanyalah manusia biasa yang tak kaya ataupun mempunyai jabatan. Meskipun begitu, kejujuran beliau telah dikenal kemana-mana hingga beliau dijuluki al-amin, yang artinya seseorang yang jujur. Sehingga singkat cerita, melihat kejujuran Nabi Muhammad ketika itu, Khadijah bertekad untuk mengajukan diri untuk menjadi istri beliau.

“Akupun seperti itu Bro, aku yakin Fathia akan menghormatiku meskipun kami mempunyai latar belakang yang berbeda. Aku yakin Dia bisa memposisikan dirinya jika memang kami berjodoh. Toh aku juga ngga mau mikir jauh-jauh apakah berjodoh atau tidak. Aku hanya fokus ke satu per satu prosesnya, memastikan bahwa tidak ada satu step taaruf yang tercampur dengan ikhtilat.” Jawabku panjang lebar menjelaskan mengapa aku memilih Fathia dan satu bab sirah nabawiyah kepada temanku.

“Ya semoga ya. Turut seneng kalau nanti elu jadi sama si Fathia. Dia adalah salah satu orang baik yang pernah aku temui juga di BEM ketika itu.”

“Ting…” Suara notifikasi HP ku berdering, kulihat nama Fathia di notifikasi whatsapp ku. Ternyata dia baru saja mengirim pesan. Buru-buru aku langsung membuka isi pesan itu, barangkali ada hal urgen yang dia butuhkan.

“Mas, aku udah ngomong Abi, katanya dipersilahkan silaturahmi ke rumah hari Selasa sore, apa bisa?” 

Senang dan deg-degan rasanya mendapatkan balasan pesan itu dari Fathia. Akhirnya setelah sekian lama memendam rasa kepadanya, aku bisa menyampaikan maksudku dengan cara yang baik, yaitu kepada orangtuanya langsung. Walaupun ya disatu sisi aku agak khawatir, apakah niatan baikku ini bisa diterima keluarganya atau tidak.

Ahh mengapa aku melamun, aku harus segera menjawab pesan dia. 

“Okey, Insyaallah semoga Allah memudahkan.” Jawabku singkat

Buru-buru aku menyeruput secangkir kopi yang masih tersisa siang itu, kemudian memasukkan beberapa barang-barang kedalam tasku. Degup jantungku semakin kencang, sekarang hidupku seperti berjalan diatas harapan dan ketakutan.

“Aku pamit dulu ya Bro, mau kerjain yang belum beres dikosan.”

🤭 I'm quite predictable, so I don't think any of my biases have come as a surprise? I tend to gravitate towards similarities to myself (introverted, deep thinkers / feelers, like san and yoongi) or I go completely the other way (loud, extroverted and very expressive, like changbin and seungkwan)

🌟 oh boy, I'm gonna choose Oddinary since it's the album that really cemented that I'd become a kpop stan. It'll always be a special album to me, as it was the first kpop album I listened to, even before I even cared about kpop.

I'd been on the brink of burnout from my music journalism job for months while facing finals in my photography degree and I was struggling. I didn't feel the same love for music anymore, feeling like everything started to sound the same when going through submissions and writing reviews and what not, every single week. Oddinary popped up on my spotify and I recognised the Stray Kids name from the few songs I'd heard while looking for new music (Phobia and Thunderous) and something shifted.

I felt a kind of relief over finding something that sparked my curiosity and for the lack of a better word; it felt explosive. It took me a while to have the energy to properly get into them as it was a whole new part of the music insustry that I had no knowledge of, but since then, my life has become much richer and I am so, so grateful for that album.
