¡Muy buenos días a todos!

Les cuento, esta elocución la vi y escuché, durante la semana pasada. Me encantó, pero con el ajoro de la mañana se me olvidó darle ‘save’. Me recordé antes de ayer de “aquel video que había visto por LinkedIn.” Lo busqué por todos lados y no lo encontraba, luego recordé que había sido un caballero hindú, algo corto, con “R”… Desistí unos días y ayer me empieza a picar la curiosidad nuevamente. Para este momento, ya por lo menos me acordaba de su primer nombre completo “Ravi”. Me dió por utilizar la búsqueda del mismo LinkedIn. Pongo: Ravi: Words have Power, eso fue lo único que me impactó de verdad. Pues miren, parece que eso fue suficiente para encontrar la elocución original, de hace siete años. Era parte de una presentación, que por cierto ganó 🏆 primer lugar 🏆.

Lo escuché nuevamente para poder explicar lo que me motivó a compartirlo el día de hoy. El señor, tiene una facilidad innata para hacer su presentación: cómica, fácil de relacionar, personal, y sobre todo, inspiradora.

Se van a acordar de mí, miren y escuchen, porque aunque ya han pasado 7 años, el mensaje es universal.

Así como los Darong están inspirados por el dragón occidental, esta especie debe su estética a la figura del dragón oriental. Su cuerpo serpentino, pelaje, cornamenta y barbas los aleja totalmente de lo que acá consideramos la figura "clásica" de un dragón; aunque con las ultimas décadas de globalización y expansión cultural asiática ya ocupan un firme lugar en nuestro imaginario colectivo. Es por estas criaturas que la inspiración principal para el Imperio Rong es la China clásica, particularmente en la Era donde se sitúa el "romance de los tres reinos". Construir estas especies y su mundo me obligó a caminar una línea bastante delgada entre conceptos opuestos de industrialización y misticismo, burocracia y ferocidad, pero estoy bastante conforme con el resultado final. Alex Turner’s interview for La Repubblica - May 6th, 2018

LOS ANGELES - He’s wearing a shirt with a huge collar going above his coat, his eyes are wide open. Alex turner is 32 years old but says he’s 70: “That’s how old Kubrick was when he died, although people say about me that I’m the proof rock n’ roll will never die”, he says sitting at a table at Minibar Hollywood, a 60′s style cocktail lounge full off red armchairs, crystal glasses and wooden windows covered in silver leaf. Turner doesn’t have a good relationship with the press and with social media “and perhaps with human beings in general, seen as my Hollywood is limited to one room”, he says. “It’s just me and the music. Always has been.”

Things change, though. According to a survey by Radio X, 9 songs out of the 100 best english songs ever are Arctic Monkeys songs; they’ve won 7 brit awards and Noel Gallagher is a big supporter or theirs: “Arctic Monkeys’ success reminds me of Oasis” Gallagher said. “These kids are very much like us. They’re one of a kind. I love the fact that they don’t wear button-ups, ties and suits”. More than four years after the release of AM (more than five million copies sold) and after breaking all records with Arctic Monkeys’ debut album, Turner - singer, guitarist and half of the Last Shadow Puppets - sat at a Steinway&Sons and wrote Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino, Arctic Monkeys’ sixth album. Their three italian dates are all sold out. “I was born and raised in Sheffield, England. This record is filled with America”, he tells us. In the UK (and not just there) Alex is the last, young icon of the rock industry, “I feel more like a noir film director... I imagine the Hollywood hills being a small bedroom, where there’s me on the piano, a mexican beer in one hand and half a pack of cigarettes on the table”.

Have you set the guitar aside?

I never took piano lessons, if I’d pressed the keys the best I could do was a jazz improvisation. I used to try and imitate my father, who’s an incredible pianist and sax player. Until a friend of mine gave me a Steinway Vertegrand as a gift for my 30th birthday. It suddenly became the centre of this record and I almost thought this was going to be a guitar-less and Arctic Monkeys-less work.

Why going solo?

When people tell me “Oh you live in Hollywood...”, I reply: “Hollywood? Do you mean my bedroom?” I’ve got a bed, a guitar, a piano and a poster of “Roma” by italian director Federico Fellini. Sometimes I think that’s all I need to make music, along with my old analog Tascam 8-track tape recorder. Other than that, I don’t really know America very well and no “on the road” kind of trip could beat the one I went on with my grandmother as a kid.

I went through garage punk, chip-shop rock n roll, hip-hop, 90′s R&B... My mentor was Josh Homme from Queens of the stone age. My inspirations are The Smiths, The Carpenters, Nina Simone, Sege Gainsbourg. I am the product of many different cultures. I am also the guy you’ll find holding a microphone at a karaoke with Lana Del Rey singing Tiny Dancer by Elton John.

Have you ever looked yourself up on YouTube?

I’m not even on Facebook. To tell you the truth, my main instinct is to smash my cellphone. Maybe I’ll go back to a home phone, to a payphone, or I’ll be like the paranoid Gene Hackman in The Conversation, using phone booths, triple lock, telephone tapping tape and wearing a plastic overcoat when walking in a crowded place. My studio is full of cables and tapes. It’s Watergate material.

Did you design the album cover for “Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino”?

Yes, it looks a lot like one of those lobby scale models, like the labyrinth from Shining. I love LA’s architecture, from Richard Neutra to Paul R. Williams. And you should visit Columbus, Indiana, it has the most beautiful churches. For the album cover I drew insipiration from 2001: A Space Odyssey. I’m obsessed with the idea that the moon landing of the Apollo 11 was all a big hoax and Kubrick filmed and directed it in a studio. Every morning, when I wake up, I feel like I see a monolith in front of my bed.

In the song “Golden Trunks” you compare the President to an 80′s wrestler.

Our president is in love with the sound of his own voice and his own “songs”. I never thought I’d end up talking about politics in a tune off of our next album and yet Trump is a part of all our lives, he’s underwater, he’s even in my bedroom along with the Fellini and Toby Dammit posters. He won, he definitely won. But sooner or later America will move on from this. As Mina sings, “L’importante è finire” (”The important thing is ending it”).

Dan ini bertahun2 buat cari kesesuaian apalagi setelah gue dewasa.. Ya gitu deh pokoknya.. Makanya gue salut sama vidi karena dia its ok banget sama keadaan sheila yang sejam temenya dateng dia pergi. Sejam setelah temnya balik dia pulang wkwkw.. Itu langka sih asli. Sampai segitunya ya..

Emak gue bisa sesek dan minta oksigen kali di rs karena panik. Ngerti gak si panik. Mirip banget.

Gue jadi inget, pas gue kecelakaan duluu..

Kadang tuh emang butuh si orang2 kaya gitu buat kita tuh "bisa terbuka" nangis sama orang tapi masalahnya. Kita tuh gak mau nambah beban gitu ke orang lain.. Kaya biarkan gue menikmati senyumnya aja.. Ngerti gak sih.. Kaya ngeliat dia hepi aja

Belum lama gue diledek sama adek gue.. Katanya gue disuruh nikah.. Dia beberin kelakuan gue beberapa bulan terakhir yang suka tiba2 megang tangan adek gue kalo malem.. Didepan orang tua gue.. Yang lagi agak panik kenapa anaknya belum ketemu juga sama jodohnya

Cuma gue capeee banget ngejelasinya kalo gue pas malem2 tiba2 keingetan skripsi tapi gue terlalu capek. Dan gue mau tidur dan akhirnya gue secara naluri cari tangan aja. Biar tenang..

Karena love languange gue paling gede touching sama act of service tuh dua dominan banget..

Sbnernya kalo emang dia gabisa bantu gue dan gue lagi ga mau cerita.. Karena gue pikir memberatkan pasti gue kaya bakal clingy gitu minta dielus atau dipeluk aja tanpa lo bantuin gue atau dengerin guee.. Itu cukup banget sih. Capek cuy kadang kalo harus ngomong saat energi lo habis dan lo cuma pengen istirahat. Dan tenang..

Tapi akhir2 ini emosi gue membaik banget sih.. Gue lebih suka express feeling lewat nulis atau ngomong langsung walaupun sambil nangiss.. Jadinya atau marah karena dipaksa.. Ya gitulah..

Bukan berarti introver tuh ga punya emosi ya.. Punya kok..

Cuma kadang dia gimana ya.. Susah buat mengekspresikannya

Kadang ya

Apalagi kalo sama orang yang biasa aja ga deket dan sama situasi yang dia gak aman. Banyak stranger.. Atau dia lagi ngerasa jadi pusat perhatian.. Ga nyaman sebenernya. Wkwkw.

Ya gue doain semoga mereka langgeng dan bisa saling ngerti dan jaga satu sama lain. Bisa pasti bisaa.. Insyaallah.. Semoga tiada misscom yak diantara kaliann wkwkwk...

VIRÉE CRÉATIVE LONDONIENNE.

  J’espère que tu vas bien et que tu as passé une bonne rentrée.

Il y a quelques semaines, je me suis rendu à Londres pendant 1 semaine. Vous avez d’ailleurs surement dû voir ma vidéo « LONDON TRIP », sinon, je vous souhaite un très bon visionnage.

Aujourd’hui, je décide d’écrire sur cette superbe ville que j’aime énormément pour son architecture, sa diversité. À Londres, il suffit de faire une station de métro pour se retrouver dans un autre monde. Dans cet article, je vais vous faire découvrir des endroits, musées, rues sympas, pour une virée créative et illustrée de photos dont la plupart ont été prises par mes soins.

Avant de démarrer ta lecture, pour plus de sensations, mets cette musique et commence à lire.

.MUSÉES.

Nous allons commencer par les musées/expos. Même si cela peut paraître ennuyant pour certaines personnes, les musées à Londres sont vraiment à voir. Aujourd’hui, je vais présenter la « TATE MUSEUM » et le « DESIGN MUSEUM ».

Ce sont deux musées vraiment très cool pour les créateurs passionnés de Design/Architecture/Graphisme.

Dans la TATE MUSEUM j’ai découvert une très belle expo assez moderne avec des œuvres vraiment originales et intéressantes.

Dans le DESIGN MUSEUM, le nom de l’exposition était « Cycle Evolution », elle avait l’air vraiment cool sur internet (« voir ici« ) et m’attirait pas mal étant donné que je suis assez fan des Fixies (vélo urbain : une vidéo est prévue sur ce thème). Elle était vraiment intéressante mais bien trop courte (15 min max), ce qui était assez dommage… Voici quelques photos des expos.

  .GRAPHIC SHOP.

Je vais maintenant vous parler des shops de design. Il faut savoir qu’à Londres de nombreux graphistes/designers ouvrent un petit shop afin de présenter et de commercialiser leurs œuvres à leur façon. Comme par exemple le designer « Michael Wolff » qui a ouvert son propre shop il y a quelques temps et que je vous conseille vivement si vous vous rendez sur Londres. Il y a également des passionnés qui décident de créer des magasins de ce genre, mais cette fois-ci, avec les réalisations de plusieurs artistes, comme par exemple le « MAGMA SHOP » qui présente et vend plusieurs portefolios sous forme de books, ainsi que de nombreux carnets/stylos/photos/gadgets.

Pour terminer cet article, on va parler un peu coffee/détente/inspiration. Je me suis rendu à Londres 3 fois et j’ai pu découvrir de nombreux lieux bien sympa.

.COFFEE SHOP.

Tout d’abord, si tu te rends dans cette superbe ville, je te conseille d’aller dans des coffee shop que tu pourras trouver à de nombreux coins de rue (pas de Starbucks hein). Et pour te faciliter la tâche, je t’en ai sélectionné quelques-uns, afin que tu puisses te caler confortablement dans un bon fauteuil club avec un petit thé ou café selon tes envies.

LOOK MUM NO HANDS – KAFFEINE – TAP COFFEE – WORKSHOP COFFEE – NOTES – PRUFROCK COFFEE.

.STREETS.

Humm, il y a tellement de quartiers à voir…mais il y en a certains que je préfère à d’autre alors je vais te partager ça maintenant, tout de suite… Je vais commencer par Camden, qui est très connu mais tu dois t’y rendre car à partir du moment où tu franchis ce quartier, tu changes de monde. Tu pourras y trouver de nombreux magasins déjantés comme CYBERDOG, qui est juste ouf (il faut y rentrer pour comprendre), mais également pas mal de marchés dans lesquels tu pourras trouver ton bonheur niveaux mode/nourriture/culture. Promène-toi le long du canal de Camden et arrête-toi manger dans des marchés de toutes variétés.

  Boxpark est un concept commercial sur deux étages, construit entièrement avec des conteneurs (60). On peut y trouver de nombreuses boutiques de créateurs testant leur concept dans un petit shop mais également de grandes marques, comme Calvin Klein, Dockers, Levi’s, Lacoste, Nike et Puma. Au premier étage, un espace extérieur a été aménagé où l’on peut manger et boire du thé.

  Carnaby street est une superbe rue commerciale très colorée où l’on peut acheter de nombreux vêtements et accessoires (il faut au moins y aller faire un tour pour l’architecture).

Covent Garden, sans doute mon quartier favori après Camden. C’est un quartier animé bien plus classe et chic que Camden avec de nombreux magasins et un grand marché couvert ressemblant à une ancienne gare dans lequel tu pourras trouver quelques concepts de burgers, des tea shop, des crêperies et une très bonne ambiance !

  SkyGarden est un grand hall situé au sommet d’un gratte-ciel en pleins cœur de la city. L’entrée est entièrement gratuite et vous offre une superbe vue de Londres en 360°. Au rendez-vous : de gros fauteuils avec des couvertures, du thé, des brownies et des ondes positives !

  Greenwich Village : le coucher de soleil vous donnera une vue féérique sur Londres.

.PARCS.

Le top du top, c’est de se réveiller assez tôt, d’aller acheter des jus et brownies dans une épicerie, puis d’aller délicatement se poser dans un superbe parc avec ta musique favorite dans les oreilles et juste de profiter !

  .FOOD.

Bien que la nourriture anglaise ne soit pas très bien réputée, tu pourras, à Londres, faire fondre tes papilles gustatives ! Je vais essayer de te donner mes quelques petites adresses. Tout d’abord, il faut que tu te fasses un bon Brunch avec du bacon, des œufs, du jus, des bagels et tout ce que tu aimes. Pour cela, je te conseille de te rendre à BREAKFAST CLUB ou encore à M1LK. D’autres bonnes adresses ici.

Parlons maintenant BURGERS. Tout d’abord, il faut que tu te rendes au HARD ROCK COFFEE de Londres, c’est là-bas que j’ai pu déguster le meilleur burger de ma vie ! Vas aussi goûter MEAT MARKET ici !

N’hésite pas à te rendre dans de nombreux marchés vendant de la nourriture, comme par exemple à Camden, où tu pourras manger tout type de plats….

On continue de voir ce qui se cache dans ce joli coffret ?... Alors je vous propose deux contes à découvrir : - D’abord, je vous emmène du côté du Murol, pour rencontrer la demoiselle maudite qui vivait au château, et qui se transformait en louve blanche la nuit venue... Une histoire à la fois triste et belle, mais qui insipire tellement par ces beaux paysages ! La Demoiselle de Murol - un conte "à méditer" extrait du coffret des "Contes à conter..."
