Last year in December, our school made its own charity Christmas bazaar.

First, we thought about what we wanted to do. All classes had another special event. Our class did a raffle.

Before the Christmas bazaar we collected prizes and therefore we went into shops (for example Lidl or DM). Luca collected prizes at the Indupark. Nawina and Lilly went to a car dealer. At first the woman behind the counter gave them money because they didn’t say they don’t want donations. After a little while they went out with some prizes. Van Ahn, Vicky and Michelle went to many shops, too. But not all the shops gave prizes.

On the day of the Christmas Bazaar, in the morning, we put numbers on the prizes. That was really complicated. It got later and later. Then we carried the prizes to the assembly hall and put them on tables. 2000 prizes! Some of the labels fell off, but the teachers helped us.

Mr. Schröder was our manager. He built the stall and organised the security. Ersin guarded the prizes and Beren was a doorkeeper. We were all so nervous because we couldn’t make a mistake.

We opened the assembly hall at three o’clock and many people came to us. Everybody wanted to buy some raffle tickets. This was very cool. We took the raffle tickets from the guests and looked at the numbers. Then we told the teachers and they searched the prize, gave it to us and then we gave it to the guests. A girl won the first prize: a TV. She was very happy.

In the assembly hall there were many stalls. For example a cake stall, a stall for art and a cookie stall. The people had a lot of fun.

On that day we collected lots of money. It was a good charity.
