*sounds of a massive stampede* wn superhero au???? *blurry eyes emoji* beatrice lightning powers, ava frankenstein esque creature, lilith fire & claws, mary & camilla as batman, ga types, and shannon as superman type???? omfg all of this sounds so damn cool, i almost wanna put my fist through a wall but in like the best & most excited of ways (<- might just be a little obsessed w comics and superheroes)
pls do elaborate all about it, and on how ava does gain her powers 👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀
Bestie, you're really to blame for all of this because you put the seed in my head, so here we go.
What I'm imagining is a scenario where superheroes have been around long enough to receive some amount of regulation. Superhero teams largely act independently but are beholden to government bodies and have to abide by certain special laws. I'm picturing Supreme Court cases and federal bills outlining hero jurisdictions, how heroes are allowed to investigate crimes, and how the court system handles superhero activity (is evidence found by a superhero admissible? Do heroes have to respect Miranda rights? etc. etc. Including variations based on country of origin, so Spain's laws will be different from America's etc. etc.).
People who have superpowers have to register themselves with their local hero agency and either join up or sign a binding agreement not to use their powers. Violators are considered criminals and the local agency and hero team are responsible for apprehending them. Heroes can and often do use secret identities, and the law has a long list of rules for what they can and can't do out of costume, but some choose to hero full-time and have their living expenses covered by their local agency.
So you have your generic comic book city (I guess it could be Malaga or Madrid but idc) and the local hero team is the OCS, one of the most well-known. They've been around since the first generation of heroes revealed themselves to the public, and are currently led by Suzanne, a hero who retired after an ~incident~ 12 years prior 👀 and now oversees the current team, which includes all of our girls.
Ava is still in St. Michael's and quadriplegic after she and her mom were caught in the crossfire of a hero-villain fight 👀👀 and became collateral damage. Her mom died but she was found alive. There was and is an active media initiative to downplay the damage caused by superhero activity, and the hospital was given financial incentives to keep this seven-year-old alive at any cost so they could claim as few civilian casualties as possible. Horrible, disgraceful, and Ava rightfully holds some resentment towards superheroes even though she is glad to be alive.
The OCS girls are as follows:
Shannon (Star Girl) is a Superman-esque alien who arrived on earth and quickly became the most famous hero worldwide for her incredible abilities. Her powers include: flight, super strength, x-ray vision, ocular beam projection (laser eyes), and invulnerability to everything except divinium. Suzanne recruited her almost immediately after she revealed herself and she quickly became the face of the OCS. She helped recruit all of the other girls into the team, and she led most of their missions prior to her death (sorry, yeah, Shannon doesn't get to live in this one, not unless you do it like real comic books).
Mary (she has a hero name built in lmao, Shotgun Mary): is a human without any specific powers apart from being a badass with guns. Unlike canon, she can actually fight well hand-to-hand, but she's a master at all things firearms and explosives. She gives very mild Punisher vibes but it's mostly aesthetic. She was a vigilante who met Shannon by chance while taking down some crime syndicate or other, and Shannon convinced her to join up with the heroes. She often seems out of place among the OCS but she is invaluable to the team.
Beatrice (Maelstrom): is a human with control over lightning and electricity in general. She got these powers in an accident where a bunch of electricity was channeled through an alien space rock (maybe divinium) and she touched it. She was already on the outs with her family by this time, who basically told her to go die being a hero to elevate their family name. She was really angry and reckless when she joined the OCS, but Shannon and the others helped her overcome that. Now, she's a hero in good standing and loved by the public.
Lilith (Morningstar): a hybrid of human and uhhhhhhhhhh (?????) who controls fire and can grow claws (and wings eventually). She doesn't really know how or why she got her powers, only that they manifested suddenly in her teens and her parents also coerced her into becoming a hero. Suzanne took her in and trained her for several years before letting her officially join the team, so she still feels a lot of pressure to be the best and a leader, just not because of a family legacy.
Camila (Gambit): a human like Mary who is just more badass than normal. She's a prodigy at archery as well as a technical genius and hacker. Suzanne finds her trying to hack into the OCS computer system and immediately hires her. She's the newest member of the team and doesn't go out in the field often because she's still learning to fight, but her tech skills are often mission-critical.
So what happened to Shannon? This is where Ava comes in, along with the two scenarios where she gets her powers. Scenario 1: Frankenstein Classic. Shannon disappears on a solo mission to investigate some villain activity in the city, and winds up getting killed by Vincent/Adriel. They take her body to some secret lab along with Ava, who they might have bought from St. Michael's on the DL in exchange for more funding. Disgusting, and then it gets worse. They want to create a superhuman they can control for villainous purposes, and they do it by cutting off parts of Shannon's body and attaching them to Ava. We're talking limbs, guts, spine, one of her eyes, everything. Part of Shannon's alien biology is the ability to assimilate with foreign tissue as a survival tactic, so her bits just sort naturally graft themselves on, leaving only lines of scar tissue where the two ends meet. A consequence of this is Ava getting Shannon's powers to some extent.
Scenario 2: Frankenstein John Carpenter Edition. The OCS goes up against Adriel in a fight, and Ava (for whatever reason) gets caught in the crossfire again and dies. Shannon dies at the same time however, probably from a divinium bomb, and her body lands on Ava's. Alien biology comes back but Even Worse, and Shannon's blood (and probably CSF and other fluids too) basically becomes its own entity, oozing out of her corpse to occupy the closest organic mass and mount a full hostile takeover. So Ava comes back to life as her body is forcibly converted from human to alien.
No matter what scenario you pick, it's bad for her, because she either has to fight her way out of a mad scientist's lab using limbs that aren't hers, or she wakes up alone in the aftermath of the battle with no idea what's going on. To say nothing of the OCS being devastated by Shannon's death. Big Oof imagining them in scenario 1 finding Shannon's butchered body missing so many pieces. And when they find out later where those pieces are? It's bad, it's really bad.
They have to bring Ava in, which is fucked because Shannon was the world's most famous hero for a reason and now all of her power is in the hands of a scared 19-year-old who doesn't trust superheroes. Just finding her is a pain in the ass, and then they have to get close enough to incapacitate her. It probably winds up being Bea's job, which creates some excellent tension and mistrust for them to work through later.
That's what I've got so far in my slow contemplation!

hey, it's me again. the guy with the OC.
before I try and reveal my reasoning for a new ID lineup, what do you think someone with a wrath/envy/sloth spread would be like?
Well, let's take a look~
Under cut because I went into way more detail than was necessary on some of this, whoops!
Wrath as a Skill 1 is interesting, as it's a little hard to find common ground between the IDs who have it as Skill 1. I mean, Base Ishmael, Shi Don, Chef Ryoshu, Rabbit Heathcliff, Zwei Rodya, BL Outis, and Liu Gregor are certainly a group, aren't they?
I think the best way I can describe S1 Wrath is as surface level dissatisfaction or opposition about something in one's current position. Ishmael is not satisfied with how her voyage ended, still searching for survivors and That Bastard despite most of them likely being dead, in a way almost defying her own urge to stay logical at all cost. Shi Don is noticeably angered by how the Shi higher-ups treat her Section, and is willing to stand up to this mistreatment to defend her subordinates. Chef Ryoshu does not enjoy working with Gregor, but she's willing to put up with him until she's able to join the Eight Chefs and completely abandon her current "lesser" position. Zwei Rodya is notably not that happy with the kind of job the Section she belongs to handles, being really good at stealthily following her client yet really disliking the boredom the lack of action causes. BL Outis got to where she is by defying and striking down her former mentor, and is in this odd position of being a "leader" figure to a Syndicate that generally does not conform to traditional hierarchies, making her role stand out as unusual for Blade Lineage. Liu Gregor seems to not really enjoy doing his job, often asking to take breaks and hang back instead of actually working hard, to the point straining himself is enough for him to come up with "a week's worth of excuses".
Rabbit Heathcliff is a little bit different though. Unlike all the other S1 Wrath Identities, R Heathcliff isn't actually dissatisfied with or opposed to anything in his position. If anything, he seems to enjoy himself much more than the other Heathcliff IDs. He's sort of an exception that solidifies the rule, I think. R Heathcliff is shown to be energetic to an almost obsessive degree - he wakes up early and stays up late into the night, he's constantly asking to be sent on more missions if he has nothing to do, and even his Uptie story compares his state to a form of intoxication. In his case, Wrath could represent a sort of defiance against his own body's natural limits, if that makes any sense.
Now, Envy as Skill 2. We actually have two base Sinners in this category - Yi Sang and Don Quixote. Besides that we also have Shi Don, Chef Ryoshu, Reindeer Ishmael, Mariachi Sinclair, Molar Sinclair, and Rosespanner Gregor.
The first and widest interpretation of S2 Envy here is as a representation of how deeply these characters are affected and influenced by the people around them. Yi Sang was completely crushed by the League falling apart, leading to him becoming passive and listening to what other people told him to do without question. Don Quixote seems to care a lot about how she's percieved, constantly announcing herself and justifying her actions, as if to make it painfully clear that she's a heroic, just figure, and being notably hurt when accused of insincerity. Shi Don specifically cares a lot about her subordinates and how they see her, defending them at all cost and putting on a much more happier facade around them (something she notably doesn't do when all alone). Mariachi Sinclair only truly takes up the mantle of the Jefe/Leader when pushed in the right direction by the rest of the Mariachis, being noted as usually meek and anxious but completely changing his attitude and entering "boss mode" when told it's time for the pañata party. Molar Sinclair is defined by his role in the Molar Office, having issues with finding what he should do due to the other Molar Office members already being able to handle what he could but better, leaving him feeling inadequate and unable to contribute in a meaningful way.
There's also a second, more specific interpretation that I'd like to point out, due to it being applicable to at least two of the IDs - interpretation of S2 Envy as seeking approval from society. Both Chef Ryoshu and Rosespanner Gregor seek to be recognised for their skills and creations on a much wider scale. Chef Ryoshu wishes to become part of the Eight Chefs, to have her Culinary Arts be appreciated by the City as a whole. Similarly, Rosespanner Gregor wishes for his invention, his prosthetic arm that could double as a workshop product, to be approved for a patent by the Tres Association and mass-produced, leading to his machine being used by far more people.
And just like with S1 Wrath, we have an outlier here as well. R Ishmael doesn't neatly fit either category, though that could be because of just how little we learn about her. We know she's seeking more information about R Corp, specifically the potential old R Corp and its Singularity, because of it being a potential lead to something else she's searching on, but we don't get to know what that is. We only learn that it's not something enjoyable to talk about. I think R Ishmael's S2 Envy could hint towards that being connected to other people. It could be that she was set on this search by someone else, or the "thing" she's seeking is actually a person (which would be on brand for Ishmael)... We just don't know enough to say for sure right now.
Ironically enough, Sloth as Skill 3 is the easiest one to describe - it represents utter resignation with one's place in life. S3 Sloth Identities are ones that don't have a lot of control in their lifes, deferring to the role they're given regardless of what they think or feel about it. They may not like this situation, and some may even performatively try to fight back, but in the end, they will back down and passively follow what they're "supposed" to do.
So, for the assessment of a Wrath/Envy/Sloth... It gives me the image of someone who's not enjoying the position they're in, who likely complains a lot. Perhaps the part they're specifically dissatisfied in is how the other people they work alongside are treated. Or, on the flipside, other people could be the oppresive force here, and this character might be dissatisfied because of that. However, despite complaining and acting like they wish for a change, deep inside they're resigned to their lot in life. Perhaps they're aware that, just like their coworkers, they're just another cog in the machine. Or perhaps they're too passive to truly stand up for themselves beyond making the ocassional excuse.
Hope this helps!

1, 2, 7 and 10 for the boss ask meme :^]
I'm just gonna start by saying, in the unlikely event the 1 awesome person reading my SR fanfic 'Out Of Time' comes across this, massive spoilers! But I've been posting my Boss's name all over here so that ship may have sailed!
Tumblr media
Whoo boy.
It's a secret, basically.
Her name is Cassandra Clark. Her mom was a big fan of Greek mythology and her dad "read one book on it then pretended to be". She's gone by Casey since she was a kid. She's not against Cassandra but did find the way her mom said it grating(eta: hates her mom).
In 2006 when she joined the Saints, she was a naive 15-year-old who didn't think there was any reason to keep it a secret. Because of this, all the original Saints knew (Casey but not Cassandra) (took them a fucking while to work out she was a girl though). Obviously Lin, Julius, Dex and Troy all knew up to their respective deaths.
Post-coma she decided to try her best to cut ties with her name and background for everyone's protection. So then only Johnny knew. He calls her Case. He struggles not to call her that on a weekly basis. She went by Emma for a bit. But eventually it just became Boss.
When the Saints became more famous she needed a fake name for the credit cards, and went for Blake Olivia Smith. The rest of the gang talked her down from Saint-Smith (she's a bit fucking ridiculous). She only really uses that name for shit like booking hotels etc.
In Steelport, Kinzie finds her name (again, Casey but not Cassandra) via the internet. She manages to heavily encrypt it for the Boss, as well as any trace of her real age (she pretended to be 18 when she joined the Saints). The Syndicate don't know it's an issue, or they would've got Matt on it.
The name she falsified documents for the Presidency in was Erica V. Saint. She's later very embarrassed about what the V stands for(Violence. Did I mention she's a bit fucking ridiculous?). She has to keep up that her age is 29 (it's actually 26) when she becomes President because they agreed to change the constitutional age to 28.
In 2022, there is a coup, a small bunch of rogue Zin going back in time to kill her. As a result of this; Matt finds out her real age, the Zin find out her real name, Johnny finds out her real age, and Matt finds out her real name(as does the reader). Due to the nature of time travel, it's debatable to say in what order those events occured, but that's the order I've written them in. When everything is more or less over she tells the team her full name. It's no longer a secret as of mid-February 2022. The team call her a mix of Casey/Boss/President/Emperor. Johnny still calls her Case. Matt calls her Cass.
Tumblr media
I've played her in 3, 4 and GOOH but all the games are canon to her story (except for the reboot, haven't played it yet, but I'm not sure I could work her into that anyway).
It's very obviously implied in my fanfic that Persephone Brimstone in AOM is the rebooted universe's version of her, as she says her parents thought about a. moving to Paris, b. calling her Persephone instead of Cassandra and c. investing in good stocks (and perhaps as a result of their move, staying together). In addition she has dark blonde hair like her dad and hazel eyes like her mom whereas Persephone would have blue eyes like her dad and black hair like her mom. Also because of this:
Tumblr media
I try to stick to the canon of them all as much as reasonably possible.
Tumblr media
*cringes and covers face with hands* Matt Miller.
I cut my explanation of this right down:
It's extremely endgame; happens 2 years post-SRIV. She is very anti-relationship up to this point. Seeing Johnny lose Aisha made her worse but he calls her out on the fact she had a pre-existing fear of commitment.
For this character, Carlos and Shaundi also come very close to having actual relationships with her but one's doomed by actual canon and one's doomed by my headcanon (they both avoided telling each other). The weirdest thing is that in general I'm a massive GatBoss shipper, but for this character, he's much more of an older brother figure.
Tumblr media
She becomes less naive and, obviously less mute, in SR2. She's gone from 16 to 21 without experiencing it, so everything's pretty confusing to her, and SR2 probably sees her at her most ruthless and violent. Between 2 and 3 she finally gets the money and power she desperately wants, and perhaps more to the point, a decent shrink. By the time of SRIV so much crazy shit has happened in her life that she just kind of has to roll with it. Chill in a chaotic way. But she's still prone to the more violent behaviour when her peace is disturbed.
Tumblr media
See, Shaundi gets it.

“ROE”WENA: THE AWFUL TRUTH!
Oft has the infamous Mor Dhona kingpin Rowena been spoken of in hushed, reverent tones. There are those who act as if she’s some kind of mercantile genius, able to make money off anything, and there are those who claim to admire her. But the truth is out about the woman whom so many claim to admire: her true full name, her marital history, and all her dirty secrets.
Most importantly, though she claims Ul’dahn heritage, Rowena is actually half-Roegadyn and a native of Limsa Lominsa - thus her ridiculous manner of speech the likes of which no self-respecting Ul’dahn citizen would adopt. Rowena is, in fact, Rowena Bloefhiswyn, the half-brother of the previous “Admiral” of Limsa Lominsa (who, like so many others of their tainted brood, shares the name of his father) and aunt to the city’s current, infamous leader. Her mother is actually a disgraced former member of the Ala Mhigan nobility so reviled that her name has been stricken from all written record.
So where did the money come from? It can’t have all been piracy, can it?
No. She runs a higher level of crime - money laundering, extortion, loan sharking and even slavery, too.
Rowena Bloefhiswyn renames all her employees - a brand of the ownership she now holds over them. She won’t hire anyone who isn’t in the absolute most desperate situations possible, keeps them in nightmarish working conditions working, oftentimes, twelve 20-bell days consecutively. She doesn’t actually pay any of them anything but her own fake money, keeping them from ever escaping, and cracks down hard on anyone trying to exchange gil for her half-baked “tomestones” (since an actual conversion rate would risk her slaves escaping). Her operations are built on the backs of murder and mayhem.
And it gets worse.
Ask any layman why the Mamool Ja are present in Eorzea and you’re likely to get one of several responses - divine punishment, continental drift, global warming - but the truth of the matter is that they’re from a place “creatively” titled The New World, discovered and pillaged by a convoy led by Merlwyb and funded by her own aunt.
That’s why the seventy-year-old woman who dumps a fortune into anti-aging treatments is seen wearing garish garb from across the sea and no pants.
Tumblr media
She wants, desperately, to escape who she is and where she’s from - she’d have you believe her to be Ul’dahn, she’d have you believe her to be young, she’d have you believe her to be a brilliant businesswoman when really all she does to succeed is sink to the darkest depths of bad business in new, depraved, heretical ways.
She’s a disgrace to our city and the absolute greatest mistake we could ever commit is allowing this foreign agent to take the seat on the Syndicate vacated by Teledji Adeledji. How could we replace a born hero with this shriveled, dried prune of a woman?
And on top of all of this, we have confirmation that she’s even enslaving her own illegitimate children. During her marriage to legendary weaponsmith Gerolt Blackthorn, she had an affair with an unnamed Miqo’te man. When the child came out with cat ears, the wronged husband filed for divorce and, in his mercy, passed up the opportunity to challenge the simpering feline to a duel over his honor. Instead he left, and Rowena, too wrapped up in selling lives, handed the child off to the husband, who himself had another wife. The couple raised the girl for a handful of years until a jealous Rowena, unable to accept that someone on this planet could be happy if she can’t, lured them out into the wilds of Dravania and slaughtered them, blaming the murders on a roving pack of bears she then put a bounty on to cover her tracks.
Since then, she’s enslaved the child - and others like her - to work for her. They hand out trinkets and use their supposed “cuteness” to draw customers in and increase sales - and in the case of one Khloe Aliapoh, they’re used to hand out coded hit lists to specially trained and brainwashed agents.
So tell us, Ul’dah - is this a woman you’d want in a position of leadership? Is this a woman who belongs in the same hallowed ranks as Godbert Manderville?
Edel Geraldine technically didn’t write this, but another staffer decided she didn’t want to risk the fallout if this explodes in her face later and decided to put his name down instead.

Hey, hope you’re having a lovely day!! I was wondering if I could request headcanons (or any other format that’s easier to write) where the reader is c!dream’s adopted daughter and how the reader’s relationship with the others would be like considering they’re the daughter of a bad person. Especially if the reader is genuinely trying to be a good person. Sorry if this is a weird request!!
Okay, this is actually the most fun I've had writing one of these in a while! Since the character limit is 6, though, I'll be choosing 6 characters who I think would have the most interesting reactions
*While I usually do alphabetical order, we’re doing the order in which they found out (for coherency sake)
c!Alivebur, c!Puffy, c!Ranboo, c!Sam, c!Sapnap, and c!Tommy Meeting Dream’s Adopted Daughter
c!Sam
He's the one who found out first
Among Dream’s various books and stories he’s written, one was a letter to you (Dream knew you’d never read it, but writing it made him feel better)
He told the other guards of the prison, no one else, so he’s not sure how it spread through the SMP, but he only told them so that they could keep an eye on you
He didn’t think you would try to break your father out or anything, but under the odd circumstance that you did, he’d want you on file and eyes to be on you already
It really is just a precautionary measure
As more and more of the server find out about it, he can’t help but to feel guilty
Sticks around you for a bit and offers to help whenever he can
c! Tommy
As soon as he finds out, he gets incredibly nervous around you
He heard that you were his birth daughter, but, even though that wasn't the case, he wouldn't treat you any better if he found out the truth
He talks about you with anger and frustration, using you as an outlet for the abuse he faced at the hands of your father
Whenever he sees you, though he backs away, his eyes widening
His brain makes up a bunch if scenarios about you harming him, terrified that you'll do the same thing to him
He, generally, tries to avoid you and anyone you associate with
Refuses to let Tubbo go anywhere near you
Tells Wilbur about it all during a stress induced rant
c!Alivebur
When Tommy told him, he got excited
Even though he’s never really cared much for you, being indifferent more than anything, he’s almost offended that you never told him
The next time he sees you, he acts like you’re literal royalty
After all, you’re the darling daughter of the man who brought him back to life! The man who gave him purpose
Goes to talk to you immediately
Wants to know absolutely everything about you and Dream
He tries to get you to join him and Ranboo in the hamburger van
Doesn't really realize if he's making you uncomfortable about it
If he does and you tell him you are, he'll be genuinely confused
Dream is so amazing, why is it so bad that you're his daughter?
c!Ranboo
When Alivebur told them, they actually took it incredibly well compared to some of the other people
While they froze for a second, their mind racing, they soon realized that you weren't your father, and you shouldn't be treated like such
They didn't even know their own parents, so why should they base your character off of who yours are?
Sure, Dream was a bad person and pitted them against their friends, stringing them up like a puppet, but you didn't
They don't try to find you to talk about it or even ask the next time they see you
They just leave you be
Does let it slip to Techno, Phil, and Niki during the latest Syndicate meeting
c!Puffy
Considering she doesn’t even know if you’re aware of the rumor being spread around the SMP, she’s seeks you out to tell you
She gives you a quick rundown of who all she knows that knows about it and asks for the facts of the matter
Various different iterations of the story had been passed around, so she want to get the facts from you
And, technically, since she's been Dream’s parental figure for many years, you're her granddaughter
She offers to let you move in with her and call her 'Grandpa Puff'
If you decline, she requests weekly meet ups with you to go get lunch or something similar so that she can bond with you and make sure you're doing alright
You may not have your father around anymore, but she doesn't want you to be completely alone, especially at such a stressful time
c!Sapnap
Uh... What?
He had known Dream for years, even going back to their childhoods, and yet he’s never heard anything about you
While he was one of the last people to find out, he was actually one of the first people to actually go to you about it
He wanted to know if it was true
He tries to be very delicate when asking you about everything, though he most likely fumbles through it
If you're a minor, he awkwardly asks if you want to move in with him in the Kinoko Kingdom so he could properly act as an uncle figure to you
If you decline, he'll give you a quick "you know where to find me if you need anything"
If you accept, he'll allow you to move in with him and his fiance, acting a bit more on the uncomfortable side for, at least, the first few weeks

Dream SMP Recap (January 19/2021) - The Last Night
The last night before things go down.
After continuing for over six months -- half a freaking year, the Disc War might finally come to an end tomorrow.
HBomb leaves home, Niki discusses anarchy with Technoblade, and Snowchester continues on its merry way on the side.
Though the situation looks dire, things might not be completely lost, as Punz makes a surprising discovery that could shift the tides of the battle...
The meeting will happen at 7pm GMT/ 2pm EST TOMORROW.
---
- HBomb sees the signs Tommy left at his place, but is a little upset that he didn’t bother to learn that it wasn’t Eret living there. He sees the upside of Tommy learning and growing in maturity, though.
- HBomb meets with Niki at the ruins of her bakery by the Docks. She is wearing Wilbur’s cloak. He’s confused by why she had to blow up the bakery and burn L’mantree. Niki says it’s because of the memories.
HBomb: “You wanna get rid of your memories? You don’t just wanna learn from them?”
- HBomb says he’s only been able to trust Niki and Eret this whole time, but he doesn’t even know if he can trust them. He’s thinking about moving.
- They head to HBomb’s place at the Castle. He gives her all his supplies -- everything, except for his two Pigstep discs.
- They head up to the Nether roof and start heading West. They head out into a savannah and find a populated village. Niki leaves, and HBomb begins his new goal of keeping the villagers protected and safe.
He has to go back to help Niki since she got lost, and the subject of Tommy comes up again.
HBomb: “Good deeds cause good people to do good deeds...”
Niki: “I am done with doing good deeds.”
HBomb: “But Niki, bad deeds cause people to do bad deeds. So in this case, wouldn’t it just be better not to do anything?”
Niki: “What will happen if we don’t do anything? Tommy will keep doing the same things he is doing over again...”
HBomb: “Okay, maybe you’re right...I...I just don’t like the idea of you trying to hurt him rather than just leave him.”
Niki: “You don’t need to agree with me, HBomb, I’m not asking you to. Just trust me on this.”
HBomb: “Okay, just...try not getting carried away. Not too much...”
- Tubbo’s got himself some NUKES.
(They’re sticks with a texture pack)
- Tommy comes online later. He keeps talking about how it might be his last night alive. Tubbo comes over to say hi. Tubbo shows him the nuke and says he’d like Tommy to live with him in Snowchester after they get the discs back.
- Tommy decides to go around and say some goodbyes. First up is George’s Mushroom House.
- He then heads to Techno’s house, hoping for some supplies. Techno and Ranboo are both there. He’s extremely bad at being subtle and soon gets found by Techno.
- Tommy and Techno have a conversation. Tommy fills Techno in on the fight happening tomorrow and says he messed up. Tommy starts running back to the portal. Techno doesn’t feel like chasing after him. Tommy says that after tomorrow, if he doesn’t die, he wants to make amends.
- Next, Tommy visits the remains of Logstedshire. He reflects on his exile and says that for all the struggle, he made it out of there.
- He returns home and decides to make one last drug room, as that was his happiest memory: making drugs in the Camarvan.
- Tubbo leads Tommy over to Snowchester. While on the way, Tommy looks at the Prison and reflects on how, since it was built during his exile, he was the only one who couldn’t see it being built...he and Techno. What purpose does Dream have for it?
- They make it to Snowchester and greet Jack and Foolish.
- Sapnap comes online and speaks with Tommy. He reminisces about how the three of them killed Dream in that first fight. Sapnap gives Tubbo the Axe of Peace.
- Next, Tommy speaks with Connor.
Tubbo: “We’re gonna kick the crap out of Dream to save some music!”
- Connor says Ghostbur left him a gift to give to Tommy. He gives Tommy Chekhov’s Gun and Ghostbur’s Pick, meaning Tommy has both Dream and Wilbur’s crossbows.
Tommy: “You know the old Wilbur? Let’s make him proud.”
- They drink some drugs. End life on a high note!
- Techno sees the Eggpire propaganda and comments on how this sounds an awful lot like a government, and says that he’ll “deal with this later” as he makes his way to the L’manburg Crater as he searches for Niki to meet with her.
- Niki sends her coords and Techno flies through the rain to the Secret City.
- He speaks with her about how she wasn’t fighting for L’manburg on Doomsday II. He tells her how there’s more to anarchy than violence -- Everyone does violence. Anarchy is distinguished by freedom from hierarchies and rulers.
He says to consider anarchy once she’s past revenge.
- Techno then starts decorating the Syndicate headquarters with warped wood.
- Meanwhile, Tubbo and Jack Manifold have continued to develop Project Dream Catcher.
- Punz comes online, since during the fight with the withers, he lost the Blade of Justice. He sees the Vine growing on his tower and remarks that it’s cool.
- Punz checks his house. There’s a sign left from Tommy that says to check the seventh floor of his tower.
Punz knows about Tommy and Tubbo’s fight. He’s still a spy, after all. Dream’s told Punz all his plans.
Punz says that they don’t stand a single chance. Dream’s showed him the area that’s been prepared.
Punz thinks Tommy’s going to die.
Punz: “Dream’s a sly guy...I think Tommy might lose his last life. I dunno...they’re going up against an un-winnable battle here. We’ll see though.”
- He goes up to the seventh floor.
There are signs there saying that Tommy’s been suspicious of Punz ever since he said he joined his side, but he’s provided a gift in the hopes that Punz will have his back.
There’s a chest there filled with riches.
35 diamond blocks, 35 gold blocks, Netherite, TNT...
Punz says it’s more money than Dream has ever given him.
- Punz says he has a reason to go against Dream now
Punz: “Wait...I actually have so much influence over the outcome of tomorrow. Do I help Tommy? Do I -- do I betray Dream? Why am I so torn on this?! I’m a mercenary! I do whatever the money tells me to do!
 ...We’ll see. We’ll see.”
- Tubbo tells Ranboo about Project Dream Catcher and Ranboo is very skeptical. He doesn’t tell Tubbo about his meetings with Dream, but tries to convince Tubbo that building nuclear weapons is an extremely bad idea.
- Connor accidentally walks into Pandora’s Vault through a Nether Portal link-up and then wanders back out.
As one does.
- Ranboo continues rebuilding the Community House using Eret’s recreation in the Museum as a reference.
- Hannah works on her house

Star Wars: The Book of Boba Fett “From the Desert Comes a Stranger” - Review
Tumblr media
The Book of Boba Fett tosses aside its title character for the second week in a row for a well directed episode that is filled with ambitious and questionable story telling turns.
Din Djarin has committed to joining Boba Fett in his standoff against the rising threat of the Pyke Syndicate. But, before joining in on the Tatooine gang war, he must visit his young friend Grogu, who is in the midst of his Jedi training. Meanwhile, the Pyke’s have recruited some muscle of their own.
If there was any doubt that The Book of Boba Fett has lost interest in its titular character, “From the Desert Comes a Stranger” should put the debate to rest. Sure, Boba actually appears in this episode, but he quite literally has nothing to say. At least some of the various plot threads from the first four episodes carry through here, but even the ongoing threat of the Pyke’s ends up getting lost in a sea of stories carried over from other media. It’s a truly head-scratching development for this series that slouched along for four weeks only to be subsumed by a primer for the third season of The Mandalorian and other upcoming shows.
On a larger storytelling level, I really wonder how this is all going to play out. It was always clear that The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, Ahsoka, and Rangers of the New Republic (if it even still exists) were all going to play in an overlapping sandbox that would culminate in some major crossover event that is almost certainly going to be a remake of Timothy Zahn’s Thrawn trilogy, but just how much these shows were going to connect wasn’t entirely clear. If “Return of the Mandalorian” and “From the Desert Comes a Stranger” are any indication, it’s all going to be one continuous show with narrative threads that aren’t contained to any particular series. For all the faults of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (of which there are many), at least that franchise is able to maintain some form of individual identity for its properties even as they interact with other narratives or tee up new plots or characters. This is even the case for their often middling Disney+ shows (WandaVision being the shining exception). Yelena Belova may appear in Hawkeye but she functions as a complication to Kate Bishop’s mentorship under Clint and a way to challenge his guilt and grief over losing Nat. We may get our first glimpse at Kang the Conqueror in Loki, but his appearance does at least gesture to the themes of fate and self determination that the series was playing with. The Book of Boba Fett isn’t nearly that elegant. The appearance of the many (and I do mean many) other Star Wars characters in this episode don’t click in a way that serves Boba Fett’s character arc or, in several cases, even the criminal intrigue unfolding on Tatooine.
It’s hard then to really process the sequences of Luke and Grogu that take up such a sizable chunk of “From the Desert Comes a Stranger.” While Luke has the chance to be more than a fanboy wet dream here, it still can’t help but feel off. Sure, I like getting to see Luke getting to be the Jedi teacher he wants to be so badly at this point in his life and him passing on lessons to Grogu has a sweet symmetry to his own tutelage under Yoda, but is this really the time to get his story? I understand Din wanting to check in on Grogu and his training, and  learning to let his surrogate son step into the next stage of his life on his own is an important part of Din’s character arc, but the sheer extent that we spend with Luke and his first apprentice feels misplaced.
There’s also just something off about these scenes and I don’t mean in the “why does Luke Skywalker look like a character from a video game” uncanny valley that undercut his appearance in “The Rescue.” Luke certainly looks better here. There’s just a certain stiffness to Mark Hamill’s performance that falls flat. There seems to be this willingness to write Luke post-Return of the Jedi as this serene, enlightened being that’s above human emotion, when that has never really been the case for the character. Luke has always been a man that lives by his passion and brashness. This is apparent throughout the Original Trilogy and one of the reasons I adore his controversial direction in The Last Jedi. He makes an attempt to appear above his emotions when facing Vader, but it doesn’t work. He still gives into his anger but also his compassion. Serenity is not a trait I would ever attach to Luke Skywalker. Sure, he may try his damndest to get there, but it’s not a state of being that sits naturally for him. To see him speaking in his relative monotone to Grogu here feels off. It also feels similarly weird for Ahsoka as well? Oh yeah, she also makes her appearance in this episode if you had any doubt that this was a Dave Filoni production. Ahsoka is a character that tossed aside the ways of the Jedi in part because of their impersonal detachment. To have her and Luke lecturing our two leads from The Mandalorian on letting go may make sense for Din and Grogu’s respective character arcs, but are these really the characters to do that?
On a related note, as much as it may hit an emotional soft spot to see Ahsoka compare Luke to his father, I was a bit let down by their meeting in this episode. Ever since we knew that Ahsoka survived into and past the Age of the Empire, fans have waited for the moment that she and Luke would meet. And while there is a quiet, understated quality to their interaction here, I can’t help but wonder at the missed opportunity of having their first on screen scene together be their first meeting in continuity. The emotional wallop of Ahsoka discovering Anakin’s son and Luke discovering this living connection to his father as his purest self has so much potential for all-time great Star Wars material. Slipping in this moment here isn’t bad, but it’s a teaser for some of other, better story that happened at some point prior to this show’s start.
Also, this show is about Boba Fett and Tatooine crime lords? I just wrote several hundred words about Luke, Grogu, and Ahsoka and I’ve barely talked about the actual narrative for this series. The Pykes remain a mostly empty antagonist. Sure, they have an in universe connection to the various forces opposing Boba Fett’s claim on Mos Espa, but they are a (almost always literally) faceless villain that doesn’t have much of a personal edge.
It’s why the appearance of another Star Wars legacy character is so welcome here. Yes, Cad Bane swaggers his way out of the Dune Sea to rain judgement down about Boba and his allies. Not only is it an actual thrill to see live action Bane be rendered in such a downright creepy fashion, but it’s also a relief to have a character arrive to challenge Boba that carries with him an actual sense of personality and menace. And it genuinely hurts to see him gun down Timothy Olyphant’s swoon worthy Cobb Vanth. Cobb is another character whose inclusion in The Book of Boba Fett makes sense and honestly feels overdue. (There’s a world where there’s a whole very solid episode of this series where Boba and Cobb have to build an uneasy alliance between crimelord and law man and also deal with the fact that they both wore the same armor for years. But that belongs in a better show.) Olyphant is such a charmer in the role of this old west style marshal that having him saunter onto screen at the episode’s start was already a highlight. To have him face down a character like Bane, especially after such a haunting entrance, is the most tension I’ve felt in this series to date.
Bane’s whole arrival sequence is so expertly tense that it’s fairly easy to forget that this episode is directed by the same man that gave us the absolute turd that was The Mandalorian’s season one low point, “The Gunslinger.” Despite my issues with the scripting, “From the Desert Comes a Stranger” is easily the best live action direction we have seen from Dave Filoni. Actors feel more comfortable. Shots feel more dynamic. There are strange moments of Star Wars like wonder like seeing a swarm of ant like droids building a hut of stone. I’m still not sure that Filoni is as suited for live action as he is for animation where his big ideas and sentimentality feel much more natural, but he’s at least learning to operate on the level of the other accomplished directors in the rotating live action Star Wars machine.
Next week’s finale is going to have a lot of ground to cover. There are still a lot of moving plot threads that are going to be resolved some how, and presumably Boba Fett has....some sort of character arc that’s going to need to be rounded out? I’m not completely pessimistic on the idea that this series will be able to pull off its big finale, but there is serious work to be done and very little time left to be sidetracked. But for all I know Han Solo will show up and send our title character careening back into the Sarlacc pit where Jon Favreau and crew seem to think he should have never left.
Score: B-

Dsmp Hogwarts AU, except it’s all the characters and I go into why they are what they are, please reblog this took a long ass time
Man, what a title Huh? Anyways, this will obviously go over the characters and not the content creators, because in some cases those are vastly different
Also, before we start, I will go over an important thing that I will mention probably a few times, and that is the difference between Hufflepuff Loyalty and Slytherin Loyalty.
Both of these houses value loyalty, but in very different ways. Take for example that you’re a spy who has their best friend as their partner, and you’re out on some super important mission. Let’s also say that your partner got shot and is close to death, and the only way to save them would be to abandon the mission entirely.
A Hufflepuff would try to complete the mission because it would be the best for all, while the Slytherin would abandon the mission despite the fact that it could result in countless deaths, just to save their friend.
See it as Selfish Loyalty vs Selfless loyalty. Both are great things to have, but are still different.
Anyways, on with the show
Tomathy Danger Kraken Careful Innit
I have seen people try to argue that this boy is a Hufflepuff because of his loyalty and such, but gosh darnit everyone this child is a god damn Gryffindor. I mean, one of his main character traits is that he’s brash and too brave for his own good. The reason he got fucking exiled is because he burned down George’s house without thinking of the consequences, and then just screamed at Dream without thinking of the consequences. The same goes for Ghostbur’s “death”, it was because he had no real plan except Stab Dream with an axe. So yeah, Gryffindor
Wilbur Soot
Slytherin, 100%. This man has created one and a half nation, one entirely out of spite, he was both a general and a president, he’s a smart lil fella, and he managed to hold his own against the god of the server. I don’t even thing you guys wanna argue with me here
Tuberculosis Underscore
This one is tricky, because it’s really between Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw for me. Like, he does possess the Hufflepuff loyalty™ plus he is very kind, but he’s also one of the more logical and observant characters we have in this server (The bar is very low let me tell ya). But I think I will have to go with Ravenclaw, just because like, the boy invented nukes. He built fucking nukes. So yeah, a very chaotic Ravenclaw that will spout bee facts at you, be prepared
Technoblade
My man is a Ravenclaw, no doubt about it. I mean, he started talking about an old greek myth in the middle of a war? Just Ravenclaw things amiright?
Philza Minecraft
I will have to go with Slytherin on this one, simply because of the large amount of Slytherin Loyalty, but also because of his cunningness and resourcefulness, but for real this was very tricky, simply because I don’t like to think about c!Phil too much because as some of you may know, I kinda hate him (Not the cc though, obvs, he’s awesome)
Ranboo My Beloved
Hufflepuff. This boy’s ideology is literally “Choose people, not sides”, he’s an honest and compassionate boy who works hard, and has a very open mind. He’s literally the by the book Hufflepuff
Eret
Honestly, Slytherin. I mean, they are ambitious as fuck, both shown by them betraying L’Manburg for the throne, but also by working hard towards their redemption arc. They are also a good leader of the smp, and in general a great role model to have
Nikki Nihachu
This one is actually difficult, simply because Nikki has gone through quite the character arc the past couple of months. She started out kind, sweet and loyal, a classic Hufflepuff. Then she joined the syndicate and straight up tried to kill a child, which is less Hufflepuff but who am I to judge. But in her core, as seen through her discussion with Jack about Tommy’s revival, she is still a good person that works hard for what she believes in, wants the best for everyone (Despite sometimes working in her best self interest) remains kind through it all. So yeah, Nikki is a Hufflepuff, just a bit of a sadistic one. But we can’t all be perfect ya know?
Fun Jonathan Michael Vincent Georgina James Sus Dy Soot
Ah, my favorite character, and also one of the best examples of a Ravenclaw. And I ain’t saying that just cuz I’m a Ravenclaw, Fundy is one of the most Ravenclaw characters out there. He’s creative, Clever, Spontaneous, Witty, Curious, Sharp, and a real trickster. The idea of Ravenclaws being the goody two shoes kids that always does their school work is just false, we never do our Homework and instead sit and read about things we find interesting, and Fundy is a good example of that. Also he was quite the eager learner during the Dreamon Hunters arc, which again is a good example of a Ravenclaw. So if Ranboo is the by the book Hufflepuff, then Fundy is the by the book Ravenclaw.
Dreamwastaken
I’m pretty sure it’s confirmed that Dream is actually a Slytherin, and I ain’t arguing with that. This boy is cunning, sly, a leader, traditional, Self-Preserving, and a master with words. There is not much more to say here, apart from the fact that Slytherins main colour is literally green, so it all checks out, this boy is a snake.
George Lore
Mr not found over here really is hard to pinpoint down, simply because his main character trait is his apathy, which isn’t really a trait for any of the houses. I was discussing this one with my girlfriend, and both of us were pretty clueless of what to do with him. I was thinking if Hufflepuff since they take the ones that don’t fit anywhere else, but then I was reminded of the most recent Dream XD stream, which showed us one thing, and that is that George is clever, observant, and Sharp Minded, all the traits of a Ravenclaw. Sure, he could also be Slytherin as he was both cunning and sly as well, but I think Ravenclaw fits him more personally.
Sappitus Nappitus Boyhalo
Finally we have another Gryffindor, there’s been a serious lack of them on the list. My man is a fighter, he’s bold, he’s brave, he’s passionate, he’s confident, and he doesn’t really think that much of the consequences of his actions (Cough the pet war cough), so yeah this boy a lion.
Punz
Ah, Punzie, the mercenary themself. Tbh, I know very little about them because Punz don’t get involved that much in lore unless they are hired for something. I mean, they were in the eggpire, but even then they were barely involved, which is sad cuz I like Punz. But what we have seen of Punz is that they are someone who does not care about you or what you want, as long as you pay them. They are power hungry and self preserving, which means that I have to put them in Slytherin.
Jack Thunder1408 TV Manifold
The boy who I can’t help but be sympathetic towards. Jack is also a hard character to pin point because of the reason that he’s gone through quite the development. Jackie boy is a very broken character that has literally been through hell, so it’s hard to properly sort him. He’s quite confident and clever, yet cunning and resourceful, so for me it’s either Slytherin or Gryffindor. But I do lean towards Gryffindor more, partly because of his stubbornness and gullibility, and part because of all the fire imagery that’s associated with him. I mean, the cc described him as burning inside, he’s been through the scape of fire and death, and he burnt his nation to the ground. In case you didn’t know, Fire is the element of Gryffindor, so yeah, another red and gold boy.
JSchlatt
Schlatt is as both charming, charismatic and calm in the early days, using subtle manipulation tactics to get his way and achieve ultimate power. He’s ambitious, narcissistic, cunning, and tyrannical, while still hiding it all behind a facade of smiles and waves. He could also be both cruel and irresponsible at times, aka the time he had an underage child drink during an event, but ya know, mistakes. So all in all, I think it’s pretty clear that he’s a Snakey boy.
QuackityHQ
As much as I love CC!Quackity, I also fucking hate him because of the many, many different directions he’s taken this character which makes it possible for him to fit in literally any of the houses. The duckie is both Chaotic and lawful, he’s both friendly and hostile, he’s a smart cookie and a fucking dumbass, so like bruh. But, I’m gonna have to go with how he is now, which is manipulative, power hungry, cruel, and strong willed. Aka, another Slytherin.
Karl Jacobs
Finally, a character that is not broken down to the point of barely making out a readable personality. Karl is a kind and funny person, who is very open to new people considering how often he gives tours to visitors and new people, and he is quite literally loosing himself traveling through time in an attempt to help people. Hufflepuff
Awesamdude
This one I know will be controversial, but I’m saying Hufflepuff on him. Sam is one of the best cases of the Hufflepuff loyalty, literally letting both Tommy and Ghostbur be stuck and ultimately die in the prison just so he wouldn’t risk Dream breaking out. Before that point he was very kind and gentle towards Tommy, literally building a robot to keep him safe and take care of him. Sam nook is a reflection of Sam’s feelings towards Tommy, and they are kind and gentle.
Dropsbyponk
Ughhhh, another tough one. Ponk is a chaotic being who is mostly neutral in conflicts, but is shown to be very open about their feelings towards those they care about, like Sam or Foolish. They seem to be have strong feelings in what they believe in, and can be a bit brash sometimes, not really caring about the consequences of their actions, which is what makes me say Gryffindor for them.
Badboyhalo
Our favorite muffin demon. I assume, I don’t know what life you live. Anyways, Bad is like the stereotypical Hufflepuff. The kindhearted, well meaning, sweet, responsible Hufflepuff. The Hufflepuff that’s like in all of those incorrect quotes blogs and “Slytherin and Hufflepuff friendships uwu” posts. But for real, Bad is very Hufflepuff. He does however have Slytherin Loyalty, considering he pretty much sacrificed the entire server for Skeppy, but if you would try to convince me that Bad is a Slytherin I will just laugh at you
Skeppy
It was at this point I realized what I’ve gotten myself into with this post, which you know, not fun. Skeppy is both cocky and filled with energy, with a real ambition to cause chaos. He’s also shown to be willing to sacrifice himself for the person he loves, Bad, when he gave himself up to the egg. I’ve seen some people say Slytherin, but I’m kinda getting Gryffindor from the lad, so yeah, another lion.
Antfrost
Frosty here is a kind hearted person that for the most part seem to be along for the ride. He reminds me a bit of a parent of toddlers, with his patience and serenity towards the more chaotic people on the server, so of course my natural instinct is Hufflepuff. Buuuuut, then there’s again the issue with the egg and the Slytherin loyalty, this time towards his boyfriend Velvet who he was willing to join a cult for (relationship goals) but again, you can’t really say Ant is a Slytherin considering how wrecked he was about what he did while in the eggpire when he was released from it’s grasp. So yeah, Puffle boy
Captain Puffy
Oh captain my captain, you are such a Gryffindor. And some of you may disagree on that, stating that she’s a Hufflepuff or something (I did research before this to check what other people think, I know) but naaah, she a lion. Puffy is very motherly and protective towards other people on the server, especially the minors, but in the way that a Bear is protective towards its cub, which is gentle towards them but fierce towards others. Puffy also falls natural in the role of a leader as seen with Pro-Omelette, but that is kinda expected since she’s a past Pirate Captain. But she wasn’t the leader she was supposed to be, as she waited quite a while to act against the eggpire out of fear of hurting her friends, which lead to quite the damage towards the rest of the server. She’s also been shown to act on impulse, killing Antfrost and taking one of his lives after he killed her son. Idk if this is a good explanation of why I believe Puffy to be a Gryffindor, it sounds more like I’m claiming her to be a Slytherin or Hufflepuff, but she is a Gryffindor I promise!
Foolish Gamers
Foolish is a kind and friendly being, if not a bit naive and easily distracted. He’s also not the brightest person, in fact I’d go as far as to call the guy a Himbo, and he can be a bit skittish sometimes if he’s stressed or haven’t taken a break in a while. But despite it all, the guy is someone who’s creative and hard working, with a brilliant mind for his building. The man is an artist who can get grumpy if you suppress his creative aura, and put his heart and soul into his works. He also has a habit of getting wrapped up in big projects, and ignoring sleep or personal care until he’s finished them. This all leads me to say that Mr Gamers is a Ravenclaw, just not the smartest one. But hey, we can’t all be geniuses, can we.
Slimecicle
Slime is very naive and very trusting towards people around him, taking every word they say as a fact. He can also be a bit dark and ominous at times, but quickly shakes it off as nothing important. This all makes him quite childish, which is very hard to sort, so I’m gonna say Hufflepuff for his friendliness and move on.
Purpled Bedwars
I actually started loving this guy the minute I saw him, purely because Purple is my favorite colour, like my man has taste. Purpled, like Punz, is a guy who helps whoever pays him the most. He’s not interested in most things on the server, too busy looking out for number one (And Dogchamp of course). He’s very self reliant and resourceful, but still quite passive. He may not be the most ambitious guy, but Purpled is definitely a Slytherin (It also brings me and my girlfriend Serotonin knowing that the mercenary siblings are both in the same house, we love those two)
Hannahxxrose
I don’t watch Hannah that much, but god I love her voice, it makes my lesbian little heart happy. Hannah is a friendly person who is very naive about the conflicts on the server, thinking it all can can be solved by placing a rose (God I wish). She’s a good decorator and a good hearted person, who unfortunately fell victim to the egg’s influence. I’m going with Hufflepuff on her, but I’m honestly not entirely sure as I don’t know that much about her.
HBomb94
H is a very well meaning person that only really wants people to be friendly towards each other. He had a strict moral code and he keeps to it, as shown where Fundy tried to get his help with blowing shit up. He’s very helpful to those who ask and is willing to back up his friends when it’s needed, which makes me say that the friendly totally not dirty cat maid is a Hufflepuff.
Connoreatspants
I just want you all to know that I’m writing this before Connor’s lore stream that surely will just go against everything I say because fate hates me, just so ya know. Connor is not a person that does stuff on the server with lore and he for the most part keeps to himself, so this is a bit hard. Connor also has this thing where he likes to say things just to confuse him, and also making a bit of cursed lore, but he’s still a fairly humble person. He does lie and steal a bit, and has this habit of moving into other people’s houses, but I digress. I’m actually leaning towards Ravenclaw on him, for some reason, so that’s what I’m going with until I have more of an established character.
ItsAlyssa
I know she has left the server and stuff, but she was one of the original members so it would be a crime not to include her. Alyssa is a bit chaotic, often going on killing sprees, or burning down the trees outside of L’Manburg. So I’m placing Alyssa in Gryffindor, but to be honest I don’t really know at this point.
Callahan
How do you sort a person who does not speak, stream, or show like anything of his personality? The answer is, you don’t. Hufflepuff is the house of those who don’t fit in anywhere else, and that’s where I’m placing him.
Vikkstar123
Please log onto the server I’m begging you, I didn’t watch you as a kid and honestly know nothing about you. From what I’ve seen of Vik he’s a very humble person that tries to stay out of it all, instead forming a land together with his bro Lazar. Honestly my instincts say Ravenclaw and I trust my instincts, so I’m putting him in Ravenclaw
Lazarbeam
Lazar was actually a big part of the exile arc which I realized after already have written his, so now I gotta rewrite it. Lazar is fairly ambitious on the server, and has the goal to obtain the most powerful objects on the server just to rival the other strong members of the smp. He’s especially against Tommy, and aims to do a lot to be the opposite of him, aka well respected and not a war criminal that got exiled (Totally fair goal). Despite that, he was able to show some empathy to the British child, even going as far as to give him a disk during his exile. This all makes me say Slytherin on him.
Michaelmcchill
Newest boy. Michael is a very apathetic person, showing little to no empathy towards most people’s trauma on the server. The person he does feel empathy for however is Dream, who of course did nothing wrong and is locked up in the prison which is just horrible oh no. Michael just truly does not care about what you’ve been through (as of now) which is why I’m gonna say Slytherin, because he does have Slytherin loyalty towards Mr Was Taken.
TL;DR

Ravnica for Goblins
Alignment
Figuring out where on the spectrum of beliefs, morals, and neutrality your character falls can be a challenge. One individual’s Chaotic Good is another’s Lawful Evil. To help clarify things, most campaigns include alignment for significant NPCs, and one can often draw a line between that NPC and that alignment. This doesn’t apply to every NPC, but the more important someone is, the more they come to represent a specific section of the moral grid in a campaign.
Ravnica does this as well, with most of the alignment chart represented by a Guildmaster. This isn’t completely uniform, however, so there’s wiggle room for an NPC to lean one way or the other as fits the story. There are some pretty safe bets, however, who can be counted on to check certain boxes at all times.
Isperia of the Azorius Senate: Lawful Neutral
Isperia represents the goal of the Azorius; objective devotion to upholding the laws as they are written. She was elected to her position because of her ability to look passed right & wrong, instead focusing solely on interpreting Ravnica’s 10d6 of Psychic damage legal system for all disputes.
Lazav of House Dimir: Neutral Evil
Lazav is the Dimir at their most annoying but least murderous. Blatant disregard for everyone’s privacy, but preference for stealing, secrets, and information over assassination. Lazav infiltrates every Guild, including his own, always determined to stay several steps ahead of any potential threat. This is not to say he won’t kill people if necessary, but his is a cold, “bloodstained calculus” methodology. It’s never personal.
Rakdos of the Cult of Rakdos: Chaotic Evil
On this plane, Rakdos is the living embodiment of Chaotic Evil, a title he takes very seriously. It’s just about the only thing he takes seriously, as he prefers to live without rules and have everyone else do the same. Unrestrained hedonism and mayhem are his bread & butter. You do what you want, whatever you want, whenever you want, however you want, regardless of what anyone or anything else says. No restrictions, no inhibitions, no hesitation. Encouraging this kind of destructive chaos in the streets is the only thing keeping Rakdos from embracing more orthodox Chaotic Evil behavior of slaughtering millions, enslaving thousands, and bowing to no one.
The Obzedat of the Orzhov Syndicate: Lawful Evil
Hard to believe there can be something worse than an actual Demon given permission to encourage every sin imaginable, but that is what the Ghost Council are. The Obzedat exist to stretch, bend, and twist every law designed to maintain order, neutrality, or justice so as to benefit themselves. What’s worse is how the Orzhov play innocent when they do it. Unlike the Dimir or the Rakdos who accept and even embrace society’s interpretation of their actions, the Orzhov refuse to be seen as anything but humble, spiritual, gracious public servants. The very antithesis of what they actually are; arrogant, miserly, manipulative bastards. They will point out exactly which laws they are not breaking, which laws there is insufficient evidence to prove they are breaking, and which laws prevent you from punching them in the face right now.
Trostani of the Selesnya Conclave: Neutral Good
If there’s one thing to be said for Selesnya, it’s that they are rarely the problem. The Conclave is perfectly content to keep to their fields & forests most of the time and focus solely on building up their own Guild. In a city where every Guild has a problem with every other Guild, Selesnya is the only one who at least tries to get along with everyone else. They don’t tend to get involved in matters that don’t concern them, but theirs is always a safe haven for those who seek it. Trostani is made up of three dryads representing Harmony, Life, and Order. You don’t get much more Neutral Good than that. The only problem is that Trostani basically never leave their Guildhall, so their influence only spreads so far. The reason they can live so peacefully is because so little of the chaotic city life overlaps into theirs.
Besides them, everyone has wiggle room and gray area to move around in. Both Niv-Mizzet and Borborygmos are canonically Chaotic Neutral, but with their most prominent personality traits being vanity & anger, respectively, the “Neutral” part of that can go out the window quick. Still, almost every Guild has at least a semblance of a position somewhere on the chart to start from. You can basically count on a member of each Guild to be at least:
Azorius Senate: Lawful
This is the Guild that writes the laws of Ravnica, after all. They literally draw their power from this ancient legal code, so it makes sense that, whether an Azorius leans more towards Good, Evil, or Neutrality, they do so lawfully.
Boros Legion: Good
If the Azorius follow the intellectual letter of the law, the Boros follow the passionate spirit for which said law was originally written. Justice, not legal-ese. Sometimes the law is good enough, but sometimes it fails its citizens. A Boros should be an inspiring force for Good, whether Lawful or Chaotic depends on the individual.
House Dimir: Neutral
The best a Dimir operative can hope to achieve, morally speaking, is neutrality. If you are working for this Guild, you are lying & stealing. Odds are you are infiltrating another Guild to find/steal information to report back to your superior(s). Not every Dimir agent does this willingly, however. Maybe a character only became a Dimir operative after finding out their mentor was. Maybe a character had nowhere else to turn and no one else to depend on. Maybe they just needed House Dimir’s connections to get them close enough to someone in another Guild who wronged them. Whatever the motivation, cling to that gray area of neutrality like your life depends on it. It’s all you’ve got.
Gruul Clans: Chaotic
Gruul are many things. “Lawful” is not one of them. If you’re a member of a Gruul Clan, you’ve definitely got a bit of a temper on you and a strong disregard for authority. Now, a Gruul can absolutely be a force for good, or, conversely, evil. Maybe you joined the Gruul after your ancestral home was bulldozed over for a smelly Izzet facility. Maybe you had a mental breakdown after decades of trying to uphold law in a city where the laws mean jack shit unless there’s a guy in blue sitting at his desk. Maybe you got tired of planting trees and getting stepped on. Maybe you don’t like the pretentiousness of so-called “artists”. Maybe you just like hitting things. Whatever your reason, the Gruul will welcome another anarchist.
Golgari Swarm: Chaotic/Evil/Neutral
The Golgari Swarm are the first Guild where you’re really going to find a lot of diversity in alignment. Some definitely fall into the chasm of Chaotic Evil Necromancers, others stand firmly in the fields of True Neutral Rot Farmer, and some idly wander between the two. Necromancy is pretty normal in Golgari society, and “Evil” can be considered a harsh word to describe it. It’s definitely more normalized in the Undercity than it is on the surface. A lot of typically Evil behavior is like that for the Golgari, lest we forget that this society of giant bugs, necromancers, zombies, medusa, etc also run the sewage system and food stamps program for the city. That said, there are definitely Golgari with sufficient ambition/motivation to become ready-made Big Bads. What is a Lich, after all, but a wizard who says, “No, I’m too important to die!”
Izzet League: Chaotic
If there’s one predictable aspect of the Izzet, it’s that they are unpredictable. For a Guild whose founding principle is “I wonder what would happen if....”, it’s best to accept that you’ll never be Lawful. Your job, as it is, is to look at laws (nature, physics, etc) and poke at them with electrodes to see what happens. Your focus will always be on things that haven’t been written down yet, as opposed to what already has. It’s almost literally impossible to be Lawful and Izzet for that reason alone. As far as Good, Evil, and Neutral go; that’s up to the individual. This experiment could replicate food so we never have to eat Golgari rations again! Or it could replicate essential personnel to prevent understaffing! Or, it could even replicate.... ME (cue maniacal laughter).
Orzhov Syndicate: Lawful
The Orzhov, like the Azorius, draw their power and influence from the laws of Ravnica. Evil is expected, though not mandatory, but Lawful is a requirement. An Orzhov who doesn’t know their way around Ravnica’s laws is a loose end, and the Orzhov don’t allow loose ends to jeopardize their schemes & ambitions. One can absolutely be a Lawful Neutral Orzhov, also known as an Accountant, but such individuals rarely find their way into a life of adventure. A Lawful Good Orzhov can exist, but your greatest adversary will be the large majority of your Guild who sees you as a potential threat to their illicit activities. In which case, you’ll want to know those laws even better than they do.
Cult of Rakdos: Chaotic
Chaos is mandatory, evil is encouraged. By “Evil”, we mean “things people tell you are Evil”. Anything you would do while drunk you should be able to do at all times! There’s really only three rules in the Cult of Rakdos:
Rule #1, Rakdos is #1
Rule #2, JUST DO IT
Rule #3, Don’t be boring
Being Neutral breaks Rule 3, being Good breaks Rule 2 and/or 3, and being Lawful breaks all 3 rules. Which reminds me of the fourth rule:
Rule #4, NEVER break Rule #1
Truthfully, being Chaotic Good or Chaotic Neutral is perfectly fine as long as you don’t impede on someone else’s hedonism without a reason, or lack thereof. As long as you’re being free & crazy, that’s what really matters.
Selesnya Conclave: Good
As stated with Trostani, Selesnya is a pretty consistent force of Good, if nothing else. They don’t really do hate, you know? Life in the Conclave is pretty uniformly Good, so why make trouble? Why can’t everyone just be Good? In short; ‘cause they don’t wanna, none of your business, go hug a tree, and/or because fire is FUN. Lawful fits some individuals but can just get in the way for others. Neutral is pretty solid but some things must call you to act. Chaotic is if you really want to embrace being a Nature Warrior in a planet-sized cityscape. Selesnya is the Guild for goodie two-shoes, as if that’s a bad thing.
Simic Combine: Any
The Simic Combine is the one Guild that can honestly fall anywhere on the alignment chart. The Guild started out as Doctors, Naturalists, and preservers of life. Now it also operates large-scale bioengineering. You can have a Lawful Good Simic Paladin committed to preserving life and health, a True Neutral Simic Forcemage (Druid) dedicated to living a simple life bolstering plant growth, or a Chaotic Evil Simic Wizard who has decided on everyone’s behalf that flippers and gills are now mandatory. Just like science can be used for great Good, great Evil, or mundane routine, the Simic Combine can turn its experiments to any purpose, depending on the individual. And whereas the Izzet are firmly Chaotic, the Simic have the foresight to think ahead before they try an experiment. You can be anything you want in the Simic Combine, just plan it out.

Hello I'm sending this to a couple of peeps cause I need answers
I been in the fandom for a long ass time (since the first sadist animatic since I was a fan of sadist since their Batim days) so I think I good grasp on all of the folk in the smp but uh.... I kinda realised that I have no clue why c!Niki hates c! Wilbur and even more so, why does everyone thinks she's a girl boss for it??? Did I miss an entire plotline orrrr?
I... I guess she hates him for having been a horrible cunt and coward during pogtopia? And to this day? Which is kinda valid tbh but like, not healthy in her case. (I will never clarify that I'm talking about the characters btw. I will clarify if I ever talk about the Cc's. But not the other way around fuck that)
But I've also never supported the whole girlboss thing for Nikki. Her telling schlatt to starve was a girlboss moment. Her dragging wilburs name is funny af but not a girlboss moment. Also her burning the lmantree is not a girlbossmoment and is like the Symbole of her being a bitch.
This is pretty much the answer to your question already. Following this is only just me going off about nikki
So I'm... A Nikki anti I guess? Like. I just don't like her. I don't. I have a lot of sympathy and I understand what she's going through but she frustrates me like no other mainly because almost more than even techno, she gets celebrated almost exclusively for all her bad things.
Nikki is kinda a less accomplished Wilbur. She stopped believing in lmanberg cuz of massive mental health issues, destroyed something actual people that actually trusted her cared about with glee and then fucked off. Adding to that that she also pinned the blame exclusively at Tommy at first, tried to murder him, tried to pin that murder on tubbo, Tommy's BEST FRIEND and would've left tubbo to believing he accidentally MURDERED HIS BEST FRIEND. And no, failing doesn't make it any better. Her own incompetence doesn't lighten the level of fucked up.
Then to heal she went to join the syndicate, and like. Good for her. And I mean that. Looking to become better is good. It just makes me incredibly uncomfortable. Techno is a big factor of everything that went wrong in her life. A big factor of what led to her selfdestructive tendencies. To the bad bad place she is now. He encouraged wilburs downward spiral. He helped destroy lmanberg, leaving with a threat, making the new government extremely focused on powerplays and her feeling lonely. He more actively destroyed it a second time. And now she's being another one of his tongue bathers. It feels gross to watch. Tommy died? Tommy who was her friend and comrade in lmanberg, who helped her when Sapnap killed her fox, who she just realized she pinned everything bad on and tried to kill for no reason? And techno reacts incredibly heartless? Her priority lies in pointing out that techno has every reason to not be sad. To reassure that asshole that his apathy is totally valid and not something he needs to work on.
Also she just never feels bad for the whole Tommy thing? She admits that she was wrong for trying to murder him while he trusted her. But she never feels bad for trying to murder him. She never has an "oh shit, if we hadn't failed back then I would have killed an innocent friend of mine who trusted me" moment. Same with the whole pinning it on tubbo thing.
I hate it. It's so incredibly uncomfortable. As uncomfortable as just the very few of peak dream lines come to reach. But instead of it just being a single line or moment it's just. Always. casually. I don't like seeing it. It feels vile.
I hate anything she's done since season 1, I hate seeing her downfall being celebrated. I hate it. Having a once badass compassionate character become a luckily incompetent asshole who I haven't seen care about anyone else, because of trauma is a fucking tragedy and people are celebrating it. Or at least that's how it looks to me.
She's in a bad place. But the people she's seeking healing from are not good people. And I can only hope that like Tommy she realizes that if she wants to actually heal fully she can't stay with them.
This is super long already. Cat out.

was c!dream going to war with l'manberg justified? well he certainly Felt justified, and still does feel justified obviously. comparing the moralities of both sides is ultimately subjective and honestly boring so idc to get into that so much lmao. fact of the matter is that l'manberg and the ripples caused by it still affect c!dream's thinking and are a large part of his motivations, it's not about moral judgements it's about how it impacts character decisions, yknow? yeah
was c!niki joining the syndicate a good choice? i mean if we're talking about just in terms of c!niki's mental state, yeah, now instead of spiraling and taking out her anger and bitterness on teenagers she can codify her ideology among likeminded people and have an actual support system. i mean not gonna act like her reasons for joining are not tied up in a lot of the anger and bitterness that caused her to lash out in the first place, not gonna act like there aren't things she still needs to work out, but she can be mentally ill and based at the same time, and i mean. she is objectively in a better place than she could have been (case in point: c!jack).
i will be honest these are two topics (og l'manberg and c!niki lore) that i do not have quite enough knowledge about to give properly nuanced analysis on so yknow, grain of salt, i am def biased, but yeah.

Please tell me everything you know about c!niki xD
THIS IS GONNA BE HELLA LONG SO HERE YOU GO
so niki first joined l'manberg - contrary to popular belief - AFTER the revolution, along w jack manifold. she joined bc she was good friends with wilbur and tommy. she opened up a bakery after consulting her diary/chat, and it ended up being pretty successful. not too succesful, but successful. during the elections, she decided to support her friend (childhood friend? the timeline is fucked up bc of c!fundy existing lbr) and together she and fundy made COCONUT2020. she didn't think she'd win, only really did it for fun, and supported wilbur even though she didn't join his party then her best friend and friend got exiled, and so she was understandably distraught and angry schlatt's reign was one of her low points. not her lowest, but pretty damn low if i do say so myself. she was tormented during this time by schlatt himself, and he made fun of her for her relationship with wilbur, called her things like a "wrench", he taxed her (to the point where she had to run away!), and he imprisoned her. it doesn't help that her childhood(?) friend betrayed her burnt down the flag that she had made for l'manberg (its so sad actually, listen to it) she had a birthday party that while i didnt watch ive heard that wilbur threatened to blow up l'manberg so yeah then she saw her younger brother-like figure get executed onstage, then almost got executed herself, when wilbur managed to get her away then it is DEVASTATING as she finally finds out abt how things have been going in pogtopia (especially for the viewers who only watched niki's pov). she had thought that they had a plan, that they were working things out, when really they haven't even got a semblance of a plan the pit fight happens, and then after she goes up to listen to one of tommy's discs with tubbo and tommy themselves during the manberg v pogtopia war, she fights for pogtopia and watches schlatt die and the nation become wilbur's again. then, of course, comes the part that all old school c!niki fans will remember... during the celebration they had just after tubbo gained presidency, she accidentally uncovered a small part of the wall and saw tnt. she went still, then covered it up, on the assumption that wilbur wouldn't blow it up BOY was she wrong her home gets destroyed (watch this and skip forwards until niki's pov), and she doesnt find out that wilbur dies until much, much later. to honour him, she starts wearing his coat. everything goes fine for a little while, and she yknow dates puffy (*SOBS* im unbiased im unbiased.... *sob*), and then doesnt find out abt tommy's exile until much later AFTER that. she doesnt really get in on the lore much during the inbetween period of tommy's exile and doomsday except for her city being built more. then, during doomsday, she gets angry at tommy and says that he couldn't just walk in there and assume everyone would be on his side, she also shouts at ranboo abt sides and stuff. later, she apologizes to ranboo and says that if ranboo fights for l'manberg, she will too. ranboo ends up doing nothing except watching everything unfold, and so niki does the same, except for one thing. she burns down the l'mantree, also known as her canonical lowest point. after that, she hears ghostbur speaking and has a panic attack, trying to reassure herself that "he's gone, he's gone, he's gone" and because shes too flooded w memories, she ends up blowing up her bakery. afterwards, however, she goes down into her secret city and isolates herself from everybody except for jack, who she plots to kill tommy with. she takes tommy to a nuclear test site and almost manages to kill him, but JUST misses him, somehow after this attempt, she scurries back to her little hole like a cryptid and (this is, in my opinion, her lowest point) isolates herself even MORE. she has contact with exactly 1 person during this whole period of four-five canonical(??) months, and it results in her mental health getting worse. technoblade visits her at the start of this, offering her a position as an anarchist to which she gives him a "maybe, after
i kill tommy" she gets night terrors, and keeps herself in a literal CELL so that she doesnt go anywhere when she sleepwalks, also punches the walls whenever she wakes up from a nightmare, which is often. eventually tho, she accepts techno's offer and joins the syndicate, naming herself as nemesis as a reference to her past self she manages to heal a substantial amount, finally having: a) a group that lets her speak (which is SO important for her, its actually the key to her entire arc) and b) socialization! however this takes a big turn, when she hears that wilbur's back she tries to play it off, then goes the l'manhole or l'crater, reminisces about wilbur betraying her (may i note the rocketduo where she looks pointedly at manifoldland and says "and GOD you deserved so much better dgsayufasyufgasuy) she grabs wilbur's diamonds, some of the first ever items she got in the SMP, then hides them in the wall, as a sign of her closing off from wilbur
PHHOOOOOOEEY THAT WAS A LONG ONE
okay so imma go with this writing cause its fun. so, you asked a few questions in response to the ask you gave me!! so lets go 1) why does she feel betrayed by wilbur? because she was one of the first people she met (canonically) on the SMP. he promised her that it would be a land of peace, prosperity, but she started loving it BECAUSE of wilbur. case and point: when wilbur asks whether she's loyal to l'manberg, she goes "yes, i'm loyal to you, wil." "no, no, not to me- to l'manberg" she quite literally wore his coat around the SMP as a symbol of her friendship and dedication towards him, because they were honestly the best of friends, and she THOUGHT she knew it. points out) and its the way she's learnt to do things. also remember: c!Niki is an unreliable narrator, that's the whole point of her character. it's a response to trauma (as @tubboblr pointed out) you're also probably wondering why she burnt down the l'mantree. and it's not because she "finally realized that l'manberg was bad" it was actually really simple: she wanted to be heard. she had been beaten down and talked over SO much (aka the BASIS for her arc) that she's so desperate to be heard she'll take desperate measures. another reason is because she finally loses hope in l'manberg. she loved it, loves it, but she just lost hope in it. she never hated it. she LOVED it, with all her heart. she just didnt believe it had any hope to be the place she had thought it was. if you have any other questions, let me know!!

Toga Himiko’s Normal Life
Tumblr media
Himiko looks like the most straight forward case of what pop culutre considers to be a classical sociopath / psychopath in My Hero Acadmia. Shigaraki, Dabi, Hawks were all groomed to become the way they were, but Himiko possessed a natural inclination towards blood and violence from the start. She seesm to be a natural born cold blooded killer, however in this meta I’ll argue that while Toga seems like the flip-side of a normal, good person like Uraraka, she’s actually just a normal girl herself.
1. Character Origins
Volume sixteen of My Hero Academia had an official illustration included as an extra that shows the characters Twice and Himiko drawn together in an illusion to a famous Joker and Harley Quinn illustration.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now, I’m not going so far as to claim Himiko was based off of Harley Quinn, but one the league of villains and characters like Twice (and ReDestro) have made similiar references to the Joker before that especially with the quote “All it takes is one bad day”. There’s also enough similarities betweeen the two characters, they’re both the only female members of a crime syndicate that is mostly men, and dominated by men. Their backstories mirror each other, they were both relatively sane, normal, girls, until suddenly they cracked one day and became a total inversion of their previous presonality. There are enough similarities that I could use Harley as an example to explain a few of the important ideas present in Toga’s character.
They are also both female characters who are written with love as the central concept of their characters. Harley’s origin as originally depicted in the comic and episode for the Batman the Animated Series “Mad Love” goes as follows: Harleen Quinzell was a psychiatrist working at Arkham. Eventualy she came to sympathize with one of her patients which triggered a transformation in her from well meaning doctor, to love-sick sycophant of the joker who broke him out of prison.
A lot of Batman Villains have origins like this. The most comparable one is Harvey Dent. Proescutors, Doctors, we are told the people who hold these jobs are good and righteous people. Even Harley herself started out as someone who just sympathized with a patient too much. However, somehow they become flipped into the exact opposite versions of themselves. They go mad for lack of a better words. Harvey Dent who was once a symbol of justice, becomes nothing more than a murderer, and Harley Quinn goes from healer to the sidekick of a mad clown willing to destroy everything in the name of love.
The question, asked in both Himiko and Harley’s stories is how can good people flip like this?
Most people have a black and white view of these issues: good people are only capable of good actions, and bad people are capable of bad actions. It’s hard to swallow the fact that any normal person has the capacity to cause so much harm inside of them.
We see similiar remarks in the background of Himiko’s story. Himiko comes from a good upper class family, she went to what was most likely a good school, she was always smiling and surrounded by friends. Everyone who comments on her sudden transformation reacts in a similiar way. “She was aways so cheerful and well-behaved, I still find it hard to believe.” She was always such a good girl, and good people don’t do those things.
Tumblr media
Normal people, good people, don’t have the capacity to do bad. That’s what makes the transformations so shocking. Therapists/Doctors are supposed to heal, Prosecutors are supposed to be just. And now we return to our old friend Jung.
The story of Harleen Quinzell and Harley Quinn. The story of Himiko Toga the happy middle school girl and Himiko Toga the serial killer is a tale told over and over again, it’s just usually told with male protagonists instead of female ones. It’s Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.
Robert Louis Stevenson’s The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde (1886) is a late-Victorian variation on ideas first raised in Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein (1818). Stevenson’s monster, however, is not artificially created from stitched-together body parts, but rather emerges fully formed from the dark side of the human personality. In the story Dr Jekyll, an admired member of the professional Victorian middle-classes, conducts a series of scientific experiments which unleash from his own psyche the ‘bestial’ and ‘ape-like’ Mr Hyde (ch. 10). Gothic fiction had examined the idea of the sinister alter ego or double before on many occasions but Stevenson’s genius with Jekyll and Hyde was to show the dual nature not only of one man but also of society in general.
“Man is not one, but truly two.”
Robert Louis Stevenson
Both cases are tales are transformation, of the monster coming from within. Himiko transforms from middle school girl into serial killer. Harleen Quinzell transforms into Harley Quinn. Dr. Jekyll becomes Mr. Hyde. We witness a transformation into a monster that seems the antithesis of everything that person was boefre, but was inside of them all along this works because of the jungian idea of the shadow.
The shadow is the unconscious side of personality. The shadow is what exists but what we do not acknowledge. If our behavior during everyday life, choosing to smile, choosing to talk to people, choosing to use our manners is a mask then the shadow is the face beyond the mask. The conscious personality conceals, the shadow reveals. It’s the difference betewen who we are and who we choose to be. The shadow isn’t necessarily negative however. The shadow is just the repressed side of our personalities, it’s what we try to hide.
The shadow plays a role in Harleen’s transformation. While it’s present in Mad Love as well, a recent miniseries ‘Harleen’ really dives into the Jungian symbolism. There’s even several similarities in common with Himiko’s story, for example there’s a scene where Harleen is shown watching the bat man beat up joker and notice how everyone is cheering despite the fact that it’s violent.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Himiko’s interest in a boy is sparked by watching him get into a fight while everybody else is cheering for him.
The cover page depicts the change between Quinn and Quinnzel as a crumbling mask, which is the exact same imagery used for Himiko.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When she enters Arkham she chooses to depict Harley Quinn’s silhouette in Harleen’s shadow. Once again implying that the transformation is not so sudden and jarring as it seems, that Harley Quinn has always been there and is a part of her psychology the same way Mr. Hyde is inside Dr. Jekyll.
Tumblr media
The comic even points it out. Harleen, and also by extension Harvey Dent are people who claim to be “good, righteous people’ and yet both of them end up transforming into murderers. Two-face’s name is literally two-face.
Tumblr media
There’s also one particularly Jungian sequence in the middle of the conflict. She dreams (dreams are unconscious and therefore the realm of the shadow in Jung’s theories) about the city of gotham as a place inhabited with citizens who are monsters wearing the faces of human beings.
Tumblr media
The idea is consistent throughout that Harleen is not really a ‘good person’ she’s merely repressed. She has had this capacity to be violent inside of her, this selfishness, all of these dark desires carried with her all along but rather than deal with them in any healthy way she repressed them until repressing them is no longer an option. Harvey Dent’s face gets half burned off, Harley’s skinn gets bleached by chemicals, the monsterous features inside of them are now worn on their faces and they have to wear their ugliness on the outside rather than the inside. They are now expressing every single thing they have repressed. However, the suggestion in both stories is that these are not special cases, that Gotham is such a repressed society that everyone is repressing the things they don’t like about themselves in that way. Harley fell in mad love sure, but love was just the reason, just the trigger, the truth is those feelings always lurked inside of her and she had no healthy way of dealing with them before that point.
That is the shadow, it’s everything you repress but it never disappears. If you ignore it, it takes on a life of its own. In some cases, like Harley’s you basically become your own shadow. Harley is the flipped upside down version of Harleen Quinzel, now her inner demons are what are expressed on the surface (desperation to be loved, violence, etc.) while her ‘normal’ self is hidden under a mask of insanity. That’s in fact how she ends the comic, Harley qalking around while Harley is trapped on the other side of the mirror because they have basically traded places. Now Mr. Hyde is walking around, while Dr. Jekyll is hidden personality. But it’s important to remember it’s not something like a split personality, Harleen Quinzell and Harley Quinn were always two sides of the same person. Even when she starts expressing her ‘bad’ traits, the good traits don’t go away. They’re just hidden underneath the surface the way the repressed bad traits used to be. Because you’re not good or bad, you’re not one side or the other. You’re both at the same time. Man is not one, but truly two.
Tumblr media
So the complexity in Himiko comes from understanding that she’s BOTH a normal girl, and also a blood crazy yandere psycho.
2. A Normal Girl - Uraraka Ochaco
Uraraka is a pretty standard shonen heroine. She’s a cheerful girl. She’s a supportive friend. She’s the embodiment of what you’d call a good, kind, person and doesn’t seem to be any more complex than that. She lacks say the drive to be a hero that Midoriya does, the superiority complex that Bakugo has, the emotional issues that Todoroki has. She seems to always be agreeable and in a cheerful mood.
Tumblr media
If you look just a little bit closer though she always seems to be walking on eggshells when she’s around others. She doesn’t want to join Deku and the others to try to save Bakugo from the heroes because, it might hurt Bakugo’s feelings.
Tumblr media
When she loses in the hero tournament, she apologizes to her parents crying not because she feels bad that she lost, but she feels like she failed them. Like it was her job to win and bring money home. However, when Deku comes to check on her in the room she’s already completely hidden her tears.
Tumblr media
Going into her backstory we learn that Uraraka is walking on eggshells around everybody due to her own parents, that she’s spent her life trying to be as small of a burden on them as possible because she could see the tired looks on their faces. She’s a child who felt guilty that her parents had to take care of her.
Tumblr media
So, for Uraraka her entire life is devoted to making herself seem as small and inconsequential as possible. Other people’s needs will always trump hers. Other people will always have more noble motivations for becoming a hero than she has. Other people’s emotions will always be louder and take priority over hers. Uraraka sees her own emotions and needs as mere trifles that get in the way, and so she always shuts them down. We see Uraraka as a version of Himiko, a high school girl who always appears to be cheerful and well-behaved but is merely repressed.
Tumblr media
Uraraka repeats the same unhealthy behavior as Himiko once did. Which is why Uraraka’s first meeting with Himiko goes with Himiko getting such a cold read on her.
Tumblr media
It’s helpful to view Himiko as the flipped version of Uraraka. Uraraka hides everything that’s pleasant about her on the inside, and on the outside appears like a perfectly selfless girl. Himiko is someone who hides her good qualities and instead wears the mask of a bloodthirsty psycho on the outside. While Uraraka lives by denying her selfish desires, Himiko always chases after them and is true to them.
Traits that are repressed in Uraraka, are expressed in Himiko. Especially traits that society sees as bad in girls, like selfishness, being emotional, etc..
The way Himiko acts is especially jarring because she seems convinced she’s a normal person. She’s in her own little world, making friends, getting along with other people, it’s just her friendship just happens to involve stabbing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Himiko appears to be a girl psychotically obsessed with blood and nothing else. A girl who only cares about killing other people and chopping them up to bits. When she expresses the feelings deep inside of herself, literally no one can make heads or tails of what she’s saying, she doesn’t sound like a girl just a bloodthirsty monster.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
While Uraraka seems like she has nothing in common with what is essentially a weird serial killer, we learn that the exact behavior that Uraraka’s creation is what led to Himiko’s current state of mind.
Tumblr media
The difference between them is not that Uraraka is a person of higher moral character, or a better person, but rather of circumstances between the two of them. It’s not the choices they made but rather things they were born into and couldn’t control. Uraraka has parents that accept her even when she fails and encourage her.
Tumblr media
Toga had parents that  abused their daughter, and then abandoned her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Uraraka chose to repress herself, while Toga was forced to become repressed by her parents. While we don’t know for sure if it was physical abuse it’s at least emotional abuse, and it had to be to an extreme extent to make Himiko snap that hard. The same unhealthy behavior but push to extremes gets extreme results.
3. Normal Girl - Himiko Toga
Himiko did not become the way she is because she was lacking empathy or born with uncontrollable urges for bloodlust, but because of the environment around her that always forced her to repress herself. From the knowledge that her parents would never love her for who she really was. Himiko wasn’t born that way she was a response of what was done to her.
Tumblr media
People who don’t really know Himiko always judge her this way, that she’s incapable of understanding other people, that she has no empathy for others. She’s almost literally labelled and dismissed as a one dimmensional yandere trope by the people surrounding her.
However, Himiko is in fact always doing the opposite. She’s constantly trying to empathize with others. Her maddened way of talking to both Tsuyu and Uraraka in her character introduction is exactly that, her trying to feel that kind of connection.
Himiko’s fascination for Uraraka is a desire for empathy and understanding. One that you could say even surpasses some characters on the hero’s side, because she’s willing to try to understand the world’s of people who are nothing like her. Himiko’s next most significant action in the manga is to take Camie’s place and go after the kids. While she does fight against them she’s not overly violent, just curious. Deku even reaffirms some of Himiko’s primary traits.
Tumblr media
Himiko is always talking a lot and trying to explain her way of thinking to other people, because she wants them to understand her. However, because she’s bad at communicating this tends to come off as babble and a lot of people completely dismiss what she says and don’t attempt to listen.
Tumblr media
She expresses two things one a desire to know Deku on a deeper level, immediately asking him very personal, and sometimes very downright invasive question and two she also notices the closeness that Deku and Uraraka have for one another.
Tumblr media
Once again this is a repeating theme for the league. Himiko repeats the same desire that Twice has, to become a person who is trusted in the same way.
Tumblr media
Once again it’s important to remember that Himiko is just the flipped version of a normal girl. If most people hide their bloodlust and show their good sides, Himiko hides her desire to be trusted and to empathize with other people underneath her bloodthirsty urges she shows on the surface. She positions herself as a femme fatalle, but she’s actually just a girl who’s trying to understand why other people are different then her, and why Deku and Uraraka can have a relationship mutually founded on trust when she can’t.
Himiko’s past was so repressed she never formed real relationships with people. Not only that she assumes that nobody will want the real her, because the moment she flipped and the real her was exposed everybody in her life abandoned her and she had to run away.
After her brush with Deku and Uraraka we see Himiko start to be trusted by her comrades and a marked transformation takes place in her.
Tumblr media
We see shades of the old Himiko. A selfish girl who only exists to fulfill her whims. However, we’re shown Himiko is capable of empathizing because not only do Shigaraki’s words get through to her.
Tumblr media
Himiko is also for the first time able to reach the emotions of another person. Remember when Himiko tries to explain how she’s feeling, she babbles, and babbles and nobody listens. However that changes and for the first time, not only does Himiko pick up exactly on what’s troubling Twice, she also comforts him the way he needs to be comforted. She tells him that yes it might be his fault that Magne died, but she sees that he’s doing his best to make up for it and she gently encourages him.
Tumblr media
Remember how important this is for Twice. The world has never forgiven Jin for his mistakes. He hit the wrong guy on accident, while obeying the law, and lost both his job and his home. He started stealing to make ends meet, and as a result he lost his mind. When he makes a mistake it always blows up in his face but this time, Himiko notices that she’s panicking and comforts him telling him it’s okay he’s made this mistake and he can still work hard to fix it.
Tumblr media
Not only that but she notices what the problem was with Jin, she was able to notice the symptoms of his psychotic breakdown and rather than dismiss it as just Twice being crazy was able to help him in real tangible ways by wrapping her hanky around him and covering him up like he asked. Uraraka has a very surface level kindness, she’s kind but only by walking around on eggshells with everyone. Himiko is able to see through people, but uses that to comfort people on a deeper level.
The “Himiko just can’t control herself because of her quirk” narrative is something that Himiko rejects herself. Because that’s not what Himiko wants. Himiko doesn’t want to be special or different from other people.
Tumblr media
Himiko sees herself as normal, and what she desires to be understand and be understood by other people. She doesn’t like Curious’ narrative for her because it made her out to be a freak or someone special when Himiko is trying her best to get others to understand her as a normal girl. Himiko can’t repress herself anymore, she can’t become normal the way her parents taught her too so not permanently broken, and forced to always express herself she’s trying some other way.
Tumblr media
What she wants isn’t to hurt other people, not really though. Those thoughts just turn violence, because Himiko is herself a person who’s endured a lot of violence. Himiko is basically a child that’s been on her own living on the streets and surviving for years, with all the dangers that entails, and also people who can shoot lasers and punch things really hard chasing after her.
Tumblr media
The more she’s isolated and on the run, the more violence she endures, the more violent and unhinged her thoughts become. The more she’s exposed to people who accept her for who she is, the more she’s trusted by those people, the more empathic and sensitive Himiko becomes instead. Himiko’s desire isn’t violence, when she’s pushed to her utter limit she says what she wants is to become a girl like Uraraka who is just loved and trusted by others for who she is.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And I genuinely believe at the core of Himiko’s character this empathic girl exists. Himiko becoming violent and unrepressed doesn’t mean her empathy disappears. The complexity from Himiko is that she’s both the knife wielding psycho and the normal girl who just wants to have friends at the same time. If behind every normal person there’s a monster lurking is true then the opposite is true as well, behind every monster there’s a normal person.
Tumblr media
This is an idea expressed by Twice again. One of the villains that Hawks dismissed as a bad person, was capable of showing him compassion and gentleness even when he screwed up. Toga was capable of empathy for Twice besides the use he had for others. Toga herself is shown to be capable of more empathy than Hawks, who is one of the most selfless characters in the series, and who is convinced his actions are always done in order to save others.
However we see their treatment of Twice is so drastically different. Hawks treats Twice in a selfish way refusing to listen to what Twice wants, and only ever used Twice as a tool to exploit. Twice himself thinks that now that he’s no longer useful, Himiko won’t be kind to him anymore however we see the opposite.
Tumblr media
Twice admits to Toga that he’s the reason that everyone is in danger right now and he completely failed, and he’s not going to come save them. He admits that he’s useless and Twice himself said Toga wouldn’t be kind to him anymore. However in that moment, Himiko ignores the fact that her life is literally in danger and everything is going to hell around her to comfort Twice one final time and tell him the words he needs to hear.
Tumblr media
It’s literally the single most empathic moment of the manga, and it’s in direct contrast to Hawks’ behavior. A hero as devoted to saving other people as Hawks, who genuinely likes Twice as a friend doesn’t show him any empathy at all and even stabs him as the back. A psycho like Toga puts her own feelings aside and notices Twice’s feelings, and gives him comfort and thanks him in his final moment because to her Twice has value as a person beyond what his use is. That Himiko is capable of this kindness, but equally capable of her monstrous actions earlier in the series  is what makes her human. Her kindness doesn’t make her any less mosntrous, and her monstrous qualities don’t make her kindness go away she’s both at once, rather than either or. That’s where the complexity comes in.
Toga is a very human character precisely because we see her at her most monstrous, and we see that girl slowly relearn how to express the kindness that’s always been inside of her in healthier non-stabby way. A normal girl who learned how to be a monster to protect herself. A monster who is slowly relearning to be a normal girl.

Anarchist Syndicate Codenames Analysis
OKAY so this is something I came up with on the fly and I spent about 1-2 hours on it instead of my lit essay lmao. I’m just focusing on the current members of the Anarchist Syndicate and how their Codenames correlate to their characters and what they could mean within context of the DSMP.
Buckle your seatbelts, it’s gonna be a long one.
Let me know your thoughts and opinions!
Techno: Protesilaus
1. A hero in the Iliad who was honored at cult cities in Thessaly (birthplace of Achilles) and Thrace (sired valuable mercenaries and soldiers)
2. Was the first to die in the Trojan war
An oracle prophesied that the first Greek to walk on land after arriving by ship would be the first to die.
After killing four men in the war, Protesilaus was killed by Hector.
3. The Cult of Protesilaus
A shrine in his honor
Organized games in his honor
Tomb was visited by Alexander the Great
4. Possibly distantly related to Heracles
Unclear
Protesilaus’ father was Iphicles: a half brother to Heracles
Analysis:
Techno is a well-rounded soldier/fighter and often utilizes his catchphrase “Technoblade Never Dies”; so it is ironic that he would choose Protesilaus as a codename, even though he was the first death in the Trojan war. Given he was a talented soldier and killed many before his death from Hector, Protesilaus died in conflict, but his legacy lived on. The Cult of Protesilaus could be a subtle reference to the Anarchist Syndicate that he created with Phil, or a coincidence.
Techno’s codename could be foreshadowing his fate within the SMP in future conflicts. If this is the case, Dream could possibly represent Hector, and take his final canon life/lives.
Phil: Zephyrus
1. God of the West Wind
Known as the gentlest of winds
Messenger of spring
2. Reported to have many wives
Husband to Iris (goddess of the rainbow)
Abducted the Goddess Chloris, and fathered Karpos
Karpos was known for his beauty, also a living metaphor of the coming of spring and bearing fruit
Was said to be the father of Achilles’ horses (with one of the Harpes from the Iliad-- a seer)
Analysis:
Phil is canonically depicted with wings, as is Zephyrus, so it is a cute little character detail. Interestingly, Zephyrus is the “gentlest of winds” and “the coming of spring”, which is ironic to Phil’s character who insights chaos (see Doomsday and interest in anarchism). It seems odd to me that a character who shows rather unpredictable qualities would choose a name that is synonymous with rebirth/new beginnings and peace. But he does want to revive Wilbur, bringing about a new beginning for him.
What I think is particularly interesting is we can analyze from the familial ties. Zephyrus married Iris, goddess of the rainbow, which could very well represent Mumza (Kristen) AW. Zephyrus’ son, Karpos represents the coming of spring and bearing fruit; which in the DSMP lore could be connected to Wilbur. Wilbur’s one passion, bringing up L’Manburg could very well be a reference to this fruit. [Also, within the myth, Karpos’ mother Chloris could be the Samsung Fridge we all know and love.]
Ranboo: Lethe
1. One of the rivers of the underworld of Hades
Flows around the cave of Hypnos (meaning sleep, or hypnosis)
Those who drank from it experienced complete forgetfulness
Lethe was also the name of the Greek spirit of forgetfulness and oblivion
2. Some ancient Greeks believed that souls were required to drink from the river before being reincarnated, so they would not remember their past lives.
There is another river, Mnemosyne, which is the river of remembrance. (causing the opposite effect of Lethe)
Souls are given a choice to drink from either river, and if they choose Mnemosyne, they become all-knowing and akin to gods. But they are not reincarnated.
Analysis:
Now here is where this stuff gets interesting. Ranboo’s character is notorious for his memory deficiency, which is a direct call to his codename, meaning “forgetfulness”. He states that the cause of his memory loss was due to a traumatic incident-- Ranboo doesn’t remember his family, where he comes from (etc). In popular myth, souls must drink water from the river Lethe to forget their past lives if they choose to be reincarnated. My theory is that Ranboo died before joining the SMP plot, and most likely consented to his memory loss to be brought back to life; likely an offer from Dream. Rather than moving on to the afterlife (“drinking from Mnemosyne”), he chose to be someone’s attempt at revival. Knowing that there is a river that brings about the adverse effects of Lethe, we can theorize that there is some hope to recover Ranboo’s memory.
Now that person who revived Ranboo could be Dream, Schlatt or Foolish. Dream, because he wants to bring Wilbur back and is keen to experiment, Schlatt, because of his knowledge and curiosity of the revivebook, and Foolish because he is known to be a god of death.
Ranboo’s enderwalk state can also be tied to the word “oblivion”, which means he is unconscious or unaware of what is happening, even though he may retain information from those events. Dream is likely in control of when Ranboo enderwalks, or they can see through each other’s eyes in those periods. (See when he visited Dream’s hideout, and recalled his Attachments speech. See also Ranboo’s prison hallucination, despite never actually visiting)
Niki: Unknown/TBD
Potential names I think are cool:
1. Rhamnousia/Nemesis
Goddess of revenge, or those who succumb to hubris
Niki seeks revenge on those who did her wrong... Specifically Tommy
2. Persephone
Queen of the underworld
Lover of Hades, and chose to live with him
Niki chose to join the syndicate of her own accord, and feels wanted and appreciated there
I believe that Niki has an important role to play within the Syndicate, and we shouldn’t underestimate her ability. This is a setting that is very appealing and redeeming for her character. and Niki has also voiced her opinions on revenge and being spoken over in the past-- so it would be satisfying to choose a codename that resonates with those values.
Unknown: Harpocrates
1. God of silence, secrets and confidentiality
2. Adapted by the Greeks from the Egyptian god Horus the Child
Who represented the rising sun
3. Father was Osiris, the original divine pharaoh of Egypt
4. Culturally represented by roses
Often found painted on borders of ceilings of rooms intended for the receiving of guests.
A sign that topics discussed within the room are not to be shared or repeated outside the room
Roses symbolize confidentiality
5. Could also represent childhood, or childish joy,
Statues of Horus are described with a finger held to the mouth (egyptian symbol for child, Greco-Roman symbol for silence)
My personal candidates:           (in order from most to least likely)
Karl-- association with the Inbetween and the wither roses, events in the Inbetween are not to be mentioned to anyone. Karl is known to keep secrets (his secret library and time-travel powers)
Connor-- Knows Karl’s “secret” (possibly his time-traveling abilities-- not confirmed), and Tommy first confided in Connor with his “secret” that Dream revived him
Foolish-- His summer home is literally the depiction of ancient Egypt. He has also stated that he is a totem god, or god of death and new beginnings, akin to that of the rising sun.
Hannah-- not likely, Techno referred to Harpocrates as a “he”, but she is strongly associated with roses. Is currently tied with Egg lore, and Techno does not want anyone with ties to the Egg.
Callahan-- a silent character. Could possibly know more secrets about SMP members due to his often appearance. No current lore to show any motives
Quackity-- unlikely, due to his capitalism arc and lore coming soon, but he could utilize secrets and confidential information to his benefit… as a sort of “payment”
Fundy-- very unlikely, however fundy is known to be sort of childish. His father was Wilbur, the creator/original ruler of L’Manburg (See Osiris)
Harpocrates could also be a new addition to the SMP as well.

[Derse Dreamers]
The final battle of the SMP. It’ll happen eventually. It can’t last forever, you know
[Rex Duodecim Angelus]
This went from a shitpost to a very long, fairly accurate (and fairly full of memes) analysis help I’m so tired.
Honorable mentions that I couldn’t add because they’re technically not canon songs:
Eret all the time
[Let Me Dance, Let Me Glisten]
The Eggpire just being able to understand The Egg (I say sarcastically, as if I don’t have this song written in a fictional language memorized)

Of Heroes and Thieves
Tumblr media
Part 2!
I forgot to add warnings, which, just swearing, really.  Shitty accents and French. I should be writing this on my writing blog @jax-writes but I started it here, and here shall I finish it. But follow me over there. Eventually I’ll add this to my works on AO3 as well.
It was her phone ringing that woke her up a few days later. She really, truly meant to stay for all of thirty seconds. It was supposed to be a ride. But they’d all (mostly Clint) convinced her to stay for a week. She was liking it here too much, truth be told. They were all so kind, and truly weren’t judgmental of her life as a thief. “We all have something dark in our pasts,” Natasha had told her. “Some things we don’t talk about except in therapy, and some we just don’t talk about at all. Either way, you’re not alone here, but frankly, you’re the most open one about it.” She didn’t see a need not to be open about everything here though. They all knew who she worked for, who her family was. And who was now after her.
“Hello?” she answered, voice drowsy, not looking at the caller ID.
“Chere, yo’ need to get back home,” a voice smooth as velvet responded on the other end.
She swallowed and sat up. “Am I on trial?”
A pause. “Two days. I already know they talked down de Rippers. Yo’ won’ be turned inta de Assassins.” She could feel his eyeroll.
“How did that happen?”
A deep sigh. “We’re moving up de wedding date in exchange fo’ yo’ to be dealt with by us only.”
“Oh, Remy,” she commiserated. He loved Belladonna, but she knew he wasn’t ready for a life with her. “I’m sorry.”
“Chere, I t’ink. I t’ink yo’ might be gettin’ excommunicated.” His voice was sad, and she knew it was the better option to happen to her, but she still felt the shock and grief roll through her body. She could probably handle not being sent on jobs anymore; she could take it up anywhere since she already had a reputation built. But never being allowed back home again? Not to see her sister? She choked on a sob that woke up the man in bed next to her.
“Babe?” he pulled her close, not understanding what was happening, but still knowing he was needed.
She took a deep breath. “Two days from now? Do you know what time?”
“Jus’ whenever you can get here. Yo’ in New York, oui? Yo’ drive, an’ it’ take yo’ twen’y hours give ‘r take.”
“Oui. I’ll head out in a bit. The heads up is just so I get goodbyes, isn’t it?”
A long pause. “We see yo’ when yo’ get here, Chere. Yo’ can bring someone wit’ yo’ inta de city, mais dey can’ come near de home. Pere said since yo’ famille.”
She nodded before saying her goodbye and disconnecting the call. Tears rolled down her face as she looked at Clint. “Will you go with me?”
“Anywhere, any time.”
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
An hour later, the team was gathered around to say goodbye. “You know for sure it's just an excommunication, and not worse?” Peter asked.
She shook her head. “But I doubt they’d have let me bring Clint if it was a death sentence.” With that, she slung her bag over her shoulder and looked at Clint. “I’m as ready as I’ll ever be, I guess.”
Clint nodded. “You sure you don’t want to take a jet?”
She shook her head once more, as she began heading toward the door. “No, I need the drive to calm myself some. We ain’t taking any back roads though. I don’t trust Marius Boudreaux to not send anyone after me. He just wouldn’t on the highways since it’s too many witnesses.”
“Would he really risk it? Going against your side?” Clint asked, turning to wave at the team once more before the pair exited.
She shrugged. “I suppose, realistically no, what with the two Guilds trying to form an alliance. They’re moving up Remy and Belle’s wedding date because of this. I expect it’ll be next week at the latest. More than likely this weekend. Wonder how Julien is gonna take that,” she cringed as she moved to the driver’s side of the SUV. Clint sighed and handed her the keys before moving to get in on the passenger side. “You pick the tunes?” she offered.
“Deal.” And with that, they left the compound, a long drive ahead of them.
Tumblr media
It was eighteen hours later, and they were finally in the state. They’d taken turns driving so they could take turns sleeping. When they were just outside the state they took a bit of a break to stretch their legs and have a little picnic at a park they found. “We’re not gonna be able to stay the night in the city after the trial, and I’m sorry about that,” she said. “I’d love to show you around. But what I’m saying I guess is we’ll need to leave the state before we can get a motel and sleep off some of this trip.”
“That’s fine, babe. You can show me a couple things on the way at least. And grab all the pictures you can. And I was thinking.”
“Hmm?” she looked up from her chips, meeting his eyes.
“After we call the team to update them--we have to or they’re gonna fly down here and fight everyone--we could do a sort of road trip.”
“A road trip?” she smiled.
“Well, I don’t know about you, but I could use a vacation. We could see the sights between here and the compound. Maybe peek at the Smokey Mountains. I hear North Carolina is nice this time of year.”
“I know a spot in Asheville,” she shrugged. “Sure. I’m in. I won’t even steal anything on the way,” she crossed her heart.
Clint chuckled. “Don’t lie, babe. It’s habitual for you right now. It’ll take a long time to get out of your system if it ever does. That’s fine, well not fine, but I understand. I’m here for you. And I’ve been there.”
“You a secret professional thief for a huge crime syndicate too?” she smirked.
“It was a carnival, but close enough,” he smirked.
At that, her eyes widened and she choked on her drink. “Seriously?” she coughed. “That was not in your file.”
“Fury erased it when I joined up. Just in case.”
“Huh. You’re full of surprises, Clint Barton,” she said before standing. Let’s go. We’ll make it to the city by ten and you can roam the Quarter while I. Say goodbye, I guess. It’s one big party down there, so have a drink or four for me. Don’t meet any girls I won’t think are pretty.”
He laughed. “I’m a one woman man, babe. You’re pretty stuck with me, I’d say.”
“Yeah?” she glanced at him as she slid behind the wheel once more. “Not like we’ve actually talked about it. You still don’t know a lot about me. I still don’t know a lot about you.”
“That’s why it’s the getting to know each other phase, babe. But I’ve been hooked since day one. Good luck getting rid of me.”
She smiled and kissed him before they set off. There was still that feeling of dread in her stomach, but he was doing a good job of making her feel a little lighter. She just hoped her sentence was what she thought it was; she didn’t want to break Clint’s heart.
