a thing about me: i love to design soulmate aus that are the most inconvenient for the focal characters

(because the premise essentially demands that they get some kind of destined, happily-ever-after love at the end of the story, i like to treat myself to a little (or a lot) of emotional torment first!)

anyway, i just realized that the funniest possible soulmate situation for labru is one of those "the first words they say to you" tattoo AUs, because

laios does not notice, lol

kabru overthinks whether/how to tell him because being soulmates complicates the narrative he's been building around conquering the dungeon

in the amelia pond au, amelia’s aunt does still send her to therapy between doctor adventures, but since amelia is now secure in the fact that he’s Definitely Real since both rory and mels have also met him and because she lost a tooth last week from tripping on the stairs of the tardis, she doesn’t bite any therapists this time around. and besides, her therapist is a very funny lady. she reminds amelia of her doctor, with how her voice will flip and jump in volume and accent and tone on a whim, with how she’ll talk to amelia like they’re conspiring together. she keeps the pictures amelia draws of the doctor and their adventures for her, even hangs one or two on the walls. she listens very intently to every detail, which no adults in amelia’s life do save the doctor himself and river song, whenever she’s around. and best of all, whenever she tells amelia’s aunt that amelia is doing just fine, don’t you worry, she’ll grow out of this, she winks at amelia so that amelia will know her therapist is only playing along to wave away her aunt’s suspicion.

it is a little odd, though, that she insists on only being called Missy. but amelia is quite used to odd by now.

#not the point of this post but. please do imagine amelia and rory and mels and the doctor all having escaped from Real Actual Danger #rory has the energy of a cat with its fur all puffed up and looks like he’s either going to start crying or yelling at the doctor #mels is standing on the box the doctor got her so she could see the tardis console better and studying the way he flies it very intently #and amelia is still full of energy and adrenaline and can’t stop racing around the tardis like a hyperactive gerbil. because if she stops #she might have to be scared instead but if she can run long enough she’ll forget to be scared at all and when she collapses exhausted all #she’ll have left are the exciting happy memories #and then she misteps racing up the stairs. shouts! the doctor and mels and rory are all at attention immediately. mels moves first but rory #is closer and helps amelia back up. and then the doctor is crouching down in front of her. ‘let me see. oh that’s a lot of blood. that’s.#how much blood are you able to lose again? its more than this. probably.’ amelia’s whole face hurts. but the doctor’s rambling is familiar.#it helps. and he’s only so talkative when he’s sure he has a solution. besides. rory’s head’s nestled on her shoulder and mel’s got her #hands. the doctor wipes blood off her nose and her chin. tilts her head up and goes ‘aaa’ sticking his tongue out until she does it too.#and he tells her to feel her upper row of teeth with her tongue. she does until she finds the gap.#it still hurts. hurts more when she nudges it with her tongue all bleeding and raw. but she just lost a tooth! and you know what that means.#they have to find it. or else how will the tooth fairy leave her any money?#(the doctor hears her say that to mels as they search. and he glances off to the side and makes a note to go back and make sure it *was* her #aunt leaving her those coins. and not something else. which he does. and finds out her aunt wasn’t leaving her any coins at all.#he can’t just let that stand! so the doctor becomes amy’s tooth fairy as well.)#and that is how amelia loses a tooth on the tardis.#amelia pond au

#makoto makimura #well not *yakuza* per se but like. she asked for the heads of three men as payment for her brother's death. she asked the guy sent to kill #her to help. when he said no she went 'fine i'll do it myself' *whilst still half blind in a city she doesnt know*. literally SUCH a badass #i think she shouldve been allowed to be bloodthirsty and fucked up and a little bit evil i think she's earned it. anyway im imagining #a world where she succeeded. can you imagine? she and Majima become a power couple. sure he's the Mad Dog of Shimano but you should meet #the one he lets hold his leash. this small sweet angel-faced beauty who looks like she wouldnt hurt a fly but if you cross her or hurt #people she cares about or innocent people and you'll WISH you were dealing with the Mad Dog #i kinda wanna make art for this. #musics boppin aswell #also got a couple of texture packs #got one which chanhes the health potions to the ones in bloodborne which is sick!#i legit spent a good 10 minutes tossing coins and shooting them #and because im playing ranger i installed a mod which overhauls the gun animations and its so good #the guns actually feel powerful now #also my character is like this fucked up crazy gunslinger #she carries around a skull which speaks to her and it's kinda vague whether shes hallucinating or its possessed #even if it is possessed she's very unwell #shes talks very gently in a deep voice and often takes things at face value. but shes also scary as shit when she wants to be.#shes very sweet. until shes not.#she also doesnt talk a whole bunch #if you cant tell i have so much lore for them #she's a stark contrast to my last character who was some non-binarytwink mage who lived in the clouds #ive got a couple of characters who i imagine would interact #one of them is a reamagined version of my character from my xbox save from years ago #terraria #terraria calamity #calamity mod #random rambles

also i imagine that we would know what l. furius looked like but perhaps not c. martinus. since l. furius has the better posthumous reputation his descendants might put his face on a coin that could be used to identify statues of him. this is less likely for martinus but not impossible i think..

Disclaimer: These thoughts are more emotionally than logically expressed, and reflect my own experience and preference.

#I have some beef with Lockwood and I say this as someone who really enjoys both the show and the books.#I've been doing a rewatch to introduce it to my dad (who loves it!) but we just hit Episode 5 and - is it just me but does this episode #plunge rather deeper into the darkness than we see in the previous episodes? It makes sense narratively of course #Complete Fiction has the task of structuring it such that there's a proper midpoint shift in the series and in my own works I increase #the stakes around this point and really let the protagonists struggle. So it's not so much that I have an issue with things getting #more focused dangerous and difficult. I don't know that I have a logical reason for the unease I feel with Episode 5 - there's just somethi #vaguely disturbing to me about it. It may be my own personal sensitivities. The interrogation scene at Winkman's has absolutely nothing #graphic about it and I appreciate the discretion - but it's just so intense - the threats to draw on Lockwood's face with the heated #instrument - the whole electric shocks sequence - I have been told I have a particularly vivid and empathetic imagination so I may just #be filling in too many gaps and feeling the scene more intensely than some would but it genuinely bothered me. More so on rewatch #though I didn't like it the first time either. I wonder too if it's because on rewatch I can compare it to the scene in the book #Gosh - the book scene is *comedic!* 'Let's disguise ourselves as ditzy tourists and while you check the backroom I'll let my coins #fall all over the place and crawl around under the tables loaded with antiques and freak the owners out! And when they get caught #Winkman just lifts them off the ground menacingly and chucks them in the street. The fact that we had to turn this into a midnight #torture scene for TV - I don't know - I don't like it. And just the atmosphere isn't as balanced as in the other episodes. So many flashbac #to grotesque corpse faces which are somehow a lot more disturbing than the CGI ghosts which feel much more Halloweenish #Not much love and light carved out in the darkness. There's some for sure! And even in the torture scene that bugs me I appreciate how it #shows Lockwood's heart and allows us to explore some meaningful territory that the ditzy tourist scene doesn't #I'm just griping and mainly hoping that the rest of the series is more how I remember it from first watch. The warmth of the Portland #Row gang means a lot to me. Stacking this dark feel on top of the discomfort I have with the harsh language rubs me the wrong way #(Thankfully I have online filters so the language isn't an issue for me but it does make me more reluctant to recommend to friends.

Rise of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers - Dr. Finster & Lord Zedd (Incomplete)

When the Rangers freed Tommy from Rita's control, the shadow desperately seized the body of Dr. Finster, whose biology knowledge she'd been using to create monsters since manipulating him into releasing her.

With him, she casts a ritual to restore her master, Lord Zedd, from the remaining seventh shard of the original Zeo Crystal the Power Coins were forged from.

She is able to restore him, but at the cost of herself, as the incomplete Dark Specter forcefully absorbs her back into himself directly from Dr. Finster's body. Leaving the man exhausted, weakened.

Incomplete as he may be, Zedd's cunning and tactical mind from the war 10,000 years ago remains intact, and he enlists Dr. Finster to fetch him Goldar and his followers. They have work to be done.
