would love to hear your thoughts about guillermo's botched/halted transformation and if you think wwdits will let guillermo stay a vampire (or become a full one) after this season <3
personally as much as i want him too, i think it depends on if they'll ever bring the wishes back, as i still dont trust the writers after last season lmao. I'm afraid they'll be worried about how the show will change if guillermo becomes or stays a full vamp
(if you want to, i'd also be curious to your thoughts on the whole "if a familar gets turned by someone other than their master, the master must commit murder-suicide" thing. i like the drama of it but tonally it feels a bit off to me, considering masters socially are never supposed to turn familars anyway)
KNEW i could count on you okay let's GOOO
Guillermo's botched transformation... honestly I am enjoying it! It reminds me of Jenna's s1 arc which is a favorite of mine but with a fun little twist. And I love Laszlo and Guillermo interacting.
My friend theorized that Guillermo will remain a dhampir of sorts and to be real i am not familiar (lol) with dhampir lore but I'm basically expecting Guillermo to grow into a special kind of daywalker with unique powers (that probably inadvertently make him a better slayer). I could also see him becoming a vampire briefly and then getting a hard reset into human by some powers that may be. Depending on how many seasons they're planning to run for they'll want to prolong his transformation as long as possible
Not that I WANT them to throw out the Djinn (his character was one of the few things i liked about last season) but unless it's done really well i'll be disappointed if we bring the wishes back to make G a human again. If you eliminate the irreversibility (fake word) of Guillermo choosing to get bitten then it's like no other choices in the show have any real weight because we know they can just be wished away if the writers don't know where else to take it
Honestly i thought i'd be more bothered about this new vamp rule forbidding familiars to be turned by other vamps but it kind of works for me. Like the way it's introduced implies that it's so shameful and unthinkable that they wouldn't dare tell Guillermo in the first place AND it was followed up by the counting rice/other stupid vampire rules thing which tells the audience there are so many stupid ass rules that we couldn't possibly know them all by now
I think it *could* conflict with the fact that vampires never turn their familiars but i choose interpret it more as the shame being derived from your eternal slave you're stringing along with the promise of immortality no longer wishes to serve you because some asshole turned them. Like imagine if someone saw you walking your dog on a leash and they unhooked their collar so they could run free. I'd be pissed. But that's me being generous to the writers!
