Hello!!! Apologies for getting to this ask so late, I finally figured out how to answers asks on Tumblr via mobile. During the week, my desk is occupied by work so I can’t really answer anything.

This is actually a super interesting question and I am really glad you asked it.

When Yanqing was first brought to the Luofu, the response was split between the general public (regular people, business owners, new money), the nobility and Vidyadhara preceptors (high-ranking families of old and those who are very steeped in tradition). This distinction is important because depending on who they were, also affected how they viewed Jing Yuan’s, Dan Feng’s and Yingxing’s marriage in the first place. The general public viewed the marriage favorably, there’s a lot of admiration for the HCQ and Jing Yuan in particular. The nobility and Vidyadhara’s did not view the marriage favorably. The nobility did not favor Jing Yuan because despite his background being nobility he did not prioritize their interests, always preferring the peach and prosperity of everyone over the wealthy. Many Vidyadhara preceptors believed in their own superiority and highly disliked Dan Feng’s independence from them and his willingness to be with a Xianzhou Native and a mortal cursed by the Abundance.

In Family Dinner, it’s really obvious that the nobility did not like Yanqing when he first came to the Luofu. In a lot of cultures, noble families who don’t have heirs will adopt the son-in-law or the younger sons of another family so their family line can continue. That was what they had hoped would happened since it would allow their families to gain a lot of wealth and status. That obviously did not happen so there was some discontent there. A lot of families quickly bounced back, seeing an opportunity to instead set up an arranged marriage for Yanqing and their children. That also quickly got squashed. By the time Yanqing is 14, having already proven himself on the battlefield, the discontent has mellowed out to either respect or apathy. There is still a faction that still hates him since they see him as an extension of his parent’s.

The preceptors are just haters. I firmly believe that. A lot of their discontent and anger comes from their inability to control Dan Feng and just how powerful he is compared to his previous reincarnations and their sense of superiority over the Xianzhou Natives and Foxians. In the beginning, they saw Yanqing as less of a cherished child and more of a pet that caught Dan Feng’s eye and were expecting him to get tired of it in a couple years. That did not happen and as he got older, they saw the kid as an annoying reminder that Dan Feng’s loyalty is not to the Vidyadhara’s alone.

For the general public, Yanqing is very popular. When he was brought in, the media had a field day saying that Jing Yuan had a bastard child during his time away from home. After rumors were dealt with, the public saw him sort of as a little prince. He’s a cute, polite little kid and he charmed the public spectacularly. The fact that he was willing to join the Cloud Knights and his talent on the battlefield made him very popular on the Luofu, but there was talk of how his fathers could stand to send their young son onto the battlefield.

you probably get this a lot. but. im newly disabled (fibromyalgia and bone spurs have quickly deteriorated my ability to walk 😤) and it's become apparent to me that a lot of people simply don't draw disabled characters, me included (going to change that 💪) i gotta say, you are not only incredibly skilled at drawing mobility aids, but the diversity in the bodies you draw is very impressive as well! people tend to only draw canes and manual wheelchairs, but it feels good to find artists that want to show more realistically disabled OCs, and it's inspiring too! ive cycled through just about every mobility device before finally being granted my power chair a couple months ago (which has been amazing 👌) so it's cool to see walkers being portrayed too. thank you for doing what you do, and i hope to save up some money to support your work at some point 😘 you friggin rock!! 💖🐝

Secondly, you’re so right about “only drawing canes and manual wheelchairs” there is a distinct lack of power chairs (i think many people feel they are too “””difficult””” before even trying). I try my best to add as much realism as I can to my art, and that includes realism in the disabled experience.

Indara knows how similar Osha and Qimir are. Osha grew up in this place and was similarly exploited, injured, and tossed aside because she wasn’t useful anymore. Them teaming up is V’s worst nightmare and also thinking thoughts about canon Sol’s ending and this AU. Random but is this set in nyc? I’m thinking about the mayoral investigation going on rn. Ok ok now she has to go see him fight and try not to spill the beans. Why am I scared? Something feels ominous 😭

as for ur question about the setting, i kind of get into the geographical setting some more in later chapters, but no this isn't an "on-earth" au. it's not necessarily in the GFFA, either. i am imagining it's the kind of story that could happen in "any" city so that's why i haven't given it a name. however, the "FDO" stands for the Federal District Orphanage, the Federal District being a district on the city-planet (ecumenopolis) of Coruscant (and where the Jedi Temple is!). outright calling the city "coruscant" is kind of a turn-off to me, though, so i'm just calling it "the city" and using generic names for streets, etc.

that said, starbucks and looney tunes and emoji and the black keys and walt whitman and brazilian jiu-jitsu and two-shot americanos and the concept of OSHA and calling one's calcaneal tendon "achilles" and teddy swims and .HEIC image files are also in this fic so it's not not an earth fic. LOL

Just saw your post about Hunters on Prime. What the hell?! I wonder why the edited it? Do you mind elaborating on how they changed it? I was thinking about rewatching it ready for S.2 but not if it’s all messed up. Have they made big changes then? Any examples? Thanks 😊

I have no idea! I’ve watched it tons of times for the last like two years and they only edited it in maybe the last 2-3 months at the most. At first I wondered if they edited it because of the increase in antisemitism everywhere lately, especially with stuff like Kanye’s comments, and that may be one of the reasons why.

But they have done more than just edit out a lot of the heavier concentration camp scenes.

They’ve edited dialogue/switched stuff like that around, cut out a few of the Hunters’ scenes and their dialogue, even cut out things like whenever Joe and Harriet find the key and then explain why the key is even needed. They completely cut out the Hunters’ introduction scenes, which is the comic-y mitzvah with Ruchelle (aka one of the best parts of the show) and don’t even have their introductions until later, and it’s honestly just been horribly edited.

I can’t even tell you how much has been taken out because there is SO MUCH. Whenever Lonny and Jonah are talking for the first time, the line where he says “like a real life Jewperhero”. The line that’s literally on some Hunters merch. It’s so strange that even little things like that have been taken out.

The show’s score is now this weird action music that is honestly too loud and grating, too. Amazon fucked it all up so bad that now season 1 is choppy and kind of bland.

Honestly, check out the Hunters sub on Reddit (which is /r/HuntersTV) because it’s not super active, so the last few posts where fans have been discussing some of the changes are easy to find. I’m on mobile atm otherwise I would list a lot of the changes for you, but I’m actually going to try to go through the episodes and list the changes out sometime.

Definitely still watch season 2, though. The cast is so good and everyone’s worked super hard on it, plus they’re going to do more of diving into Joe’s background growing up in a Japanese internment camp, which Louis Ozawa has said multiple times is really important to him. I think (& hope) that season 2 will be okay. ❤️

a/n: it's literally a dream that i quite had a second ago and i'm writing this as soon as i woke up with my eyes half opened and all .. embarrassing really but i gotta keep the dream as a memory somehow so this is all just word vomit and what i could remember. not proofread. my read more button doesnt work on mobile T_T

cuddling against your boyfriend's chest in the middle of the living room trying to get comfortable on the leather couch, you watched him scroll through his phone giggling.

curious, you peeked a little and notice the weverse screen that you were familiar with. "would this be a cute reply?", jake flashed you his bright screen which made you squint a little as you read 'jakey loves you too' on the comment box that hasn't been sent out yet.

"why don't you ever reply to mine," you ask sulkingly but also meaning every word you had said because he's about to begin a mention party on weverse right now while you were both supposedly going to sleep.

jake ignored you and began the chaos that was about to blow his notifications up which made you start a mini tantrum going "aaaahhhhhh", "whyyy", and the occasional "jakeyyy" while lightly hitting on his chest to get his attention with him only giggling a little as a response but keeping his straight face a second later.

wanting an answer, you pulled out your own phone to enter the weverse app and joined the engenes in hopes to get the attention of your boyfriend on the internet too.

commenting all sorts of compliments, questions, stories you could ever think of at the moment which could beat the simple 'i love you jake' from an engene which started this entire thing.

"see, look this is my username", copying his movement earlier as you shoved your phone directly towards his face. "plus you've always known it- its the one that says 'jakeyismypuppy1115'.. i need a reply please please plea- don't make me snatch your phone right now to do it", whining even further as you shake his body which was almost falling off the couch if he wasn't supporting himself.

it was your profile with the recent post dated a few days ago, apart from this moment's fiasco of you trying to get jake's attention online, the post made you cringe a little after realising what it said.

he scrolled down a little more to show that heeseung, who is rarely online, had replied too. "heeseungie loves you too ☺️".

it took you awhile to process it a little, and it finally hit you that you made the post after watching a youtube compilation of your boyfriend's co-member which made you all happy inside as a fan and nothing more.

you didn't expect heeseung to reply to your post either. you were joyful that he did and bragged it on twitter, but it didn't stuck into your mind forever since you technically forgot it happened. jake's reply would matter to you more.

on heeseung's side however, he and all of the other boys knew of your weverse account from how jake would always reply to yours which raised some suspicion and later confirmed when jungwon saw the app left open on your phone with the profile flashing your username.

heeseung found the comment to be sweet and endearing, he loves you like the closest friend who has always been there for his bestfriend and the team even before debut.

your reminiscing thoughts were then killed by jake pouting at you with the post still up in your face.

"jakey.. i didn't mean tha- wait i did, i think heeseung deserves all the good things in life but i love you the most more than him," trying to comfort him, not caring about the app hybe created now.

he knew that you only meant well and was happy to know that you were a good person that likes his group as a whole.

jake, still determined with his plan in making you love him more than heeseung, even though you already do, continued sulking and crossing his arms away from you, staring into the silent tv.

you hugged him as tight as the koalas he had seen back in australia and a bunch of apologies + i love yous came running out your cute lips profusely.

your boyfriend wasn't budging at all which made you even more frustrated, you knew he was just being playful though from the countless of times he tried not to laugh.

giving up, you sat on the couch as he was still laying and proceeded to go over his body and walk to the kitchen in hopes to find heeseung somewhere eating ramen to prove jake that you were both just a couple of besties.

however the area was empty realising that the entire group left the two of you alone for some privacy, and that they would rather be outside than to see any form of pda.

your brain was wired to make milo, an australian chocolate drink, for your boyfriend as another cute form of "please love me and give me attention".

it was hard to reach the mugs knowing that riki purposely made it higher for laughs and gags. a little more and you'd be able to grab the spider-man mug that belonged to your baby jakey.

like any cliché, a hand made way to your waist as you felt your boyfriend's body lightly pressed against your back reaching for the cup that you were both eyeing for.

placing the blue spider-man mug in front of you with his right hand on your side fulling back hugging you now as he whispered, "i love you" with his soft lips touching the shell of your ear making you turn your head around from the tickling feeling.

with your body finally facing him, you cupped his cheeks and stared into his sparkly eyes. your thumbs grazing his soft skin and fingers moving his unkept fringe a little from the nap you both had in the afternoon, admiring all of his features before giving him a kiss.

not knowing that your phone was blowing up in the living room from the weverse notifications you were getting.

If you do NOT channel this considerable energy into positive outlets like these, you will get sick.
