BIOGRAPHY:

Raised in a world where ordinary was mundane and extraordinary was feared, Icarus stood out from the moment he entered the world; a red ball of flesh distinctly devoid of the squalling associated with birth. It was a voicelessness that would haunt him for years, incarcerating him into a world of silence void of emotion. His mother was an aristocratic Londoner, dressed consistently in the latest colloquial fashions, she was, in every aspect of the word, his father’s pet.

For the first few years of their marriage, life was perfect. Eugenia was the ideal London society wife: charming and pretty, with a wicked wit that let the other ladies know their place. However, unbeknownst to her husband, Eugenia was descendent from a family of powerful shifters. She wanted a different life than the one her own parents had built within the shifter community and sought refuge with the benevolent aristocrat who took an interest in her hand early on. Those first years were perfect, until one day her husband came home from work early, startling her mid-shift.

From then on, her life became one of captivity. The gentleman viewed her as diseased, an oddity, but, too embarrassed to seek divorce, he kept her instead. Their community was led to believe she suffered a disease that kept her in delicate condition, and that was the last most saw of Eugenia. Over the years a sick curiosity grew within that gentleman, his benevolence melting away into an infatuation. Obsessed he became with seeing her transform, studying how the body parts shifted and morphed. Discovering the power that a true shifter could hold, he sought out someone to conceive a child for him, another shifter to get his wife with child. Icarus was born to be a wonderment of science, and nothing more.

Growing up in wealth left Ike with an attitude of indifference, his father followed it further by instilling a sense of depravity. Icarus did not care for the fate of other’s, so long as it was not happening to him. Those things that were happening were someone else’s misfortune, not his. Eventually he began to dissociate completely from the mutilated deprivation. Some say this is the general attitude of those children who are brought up in wealth, for Ike, however, it was necessity. The experiments his father performed on him throughout his childhood left him with a multitude of scars, the worst ones invisible to the naked eye. His natural form holds the brunt of his abuse, though some of the more serious scars still show through his transformation when in his human form. They are too ingrained in his image of himself for him to leave them behind. No one suspected what was going on inside the lovely home the gentleman had built for himself and his son, Icarus’ mother long forgotten after the birth of her son. To those on the outside he was the typical boisterous boy one expected of a wealthy child, no one suspected the horrors poor Ike faced behind closed doors. For years life rutted on in such a way, until one day he snapped. A particularly gruesome experiment involving Icarus and a female shifter. It was his first shift, brought on by a rage so dangerous it resulted in his father’s death. There was nothing one could to do fix a throat ripped out by an angry wolf. 

Only twelve, and with no where to turn, Icarus thought he would be forced onto the streets, unable to access his trust after the crime he had committed. He was wrong. One of his father’s associates took him in. This man was unlike the other’s that his father had brought into his life, this one was kind, warm-spirited. He took Ike in as his own son, eventually adopting him after using his crime syndicate to cover up the death of Ike’s father. That man’s name was Henry James Icarus II, and he was Ike’s true father. Him and his wife had been unable to have children of their own, and as a prominent leader in organized crime, the man needed someone to pass over his empire to. His new son was just that person.

Slowly, he was brought into the ways of the business, a priority being placed on his education. In order to lead he needed to be smarter than the average, and stronger. Yet, every day Ike was filled with an empty ache where he knew emotion should lay yet did not. At fourteen he began bouncing from sexual partner to sexual partner, trying to fill the void inside himself with something that was supposed to be pleasurable now that it was being done of his own volition with a consenting partner. Yet it was not. Not for Ike. Not until he learned how to seduce, to dominate the room, to make the other person beg. It does not bring him pleasure to bring genuine pain to others, and he is sensitive to one’s distress, but that is as far as his caring goes when it comes to his partners. He lures them in as sweet and suave before showing his dark side. That particular skill set continued to come in handy in regards to his training.  Not in academics, but in weapons and hand to hand combat. With that in addition to general emotionlessness, Icarus quickly became lethal. He had a face that gave nothing away.

By the time he was twenty-two, he was handling most of the family’s business, his father wanting to settle down in somewhere in the Caribbean to retire. Unfortunately, fate had other plans. When Ike was twenty-four his father and mother were gunned down and killed by a rival outfit. It was the one and only time anyone had seen Icarus express a true emotion and it was rage. Pure unadulterated rage. For three years after their death his sole mission in life was to avenge the death of the only two people, he had felt any sort of love for. He did not stop with the men who had carried out the execution but continued until he found the leaders who had give the orders. Their pleas for mercy, begging that it was just business and not personal fell on deaf ears. Icarus himself handled their death, those who witnessed it were too shaken to even speak of the incident. Men who had spent their life in hard crime were afraid of Icarus by the time he was done with his parent’s murderers. His next focus was on getting the family business back together. Due to his past, Ike is loathe to deal in anything within his business ventures that puts innocent women or children at risk. Consequences are said to have been dire for those who are discovered to have gone behind his back, choosing to take his money into the various trafficking industries. Those men are often not seen again.

At twenty-eight, he moved to New York for a change of pace. To this day he keeps his fingers in all the dealings still going on across the pond. He spent ten years building a foothold in this city in the form of his club "Tempest". Well known by the local shifter clan he stays out of their business and prefers to serve as an associate. Occasionally someone from the clan will request his assistance, in which case he is happy to oblige. His life has not left him the kind to be democratic but he still values the lives of his fellow shifters and he often hires them before other supes to finish a job for him. In the end, he looks out for his own and says fuck the rest. Currently he is merely playing, feeding his desires as he relies on his underthings to do their work and keep him informed.

I wonder.... if a Human and Skeksis mated and have a baby what would it look like 🤔 Would it be more lizard bord or human like?

I tried looking up exactly what traits would be more prevalent to help bit I couldn’t find much

All I know now is male birds(in going with birds for their genes) have two gene rich chromosomes called “z” chromosome(their version of our “x” chromosome. )

With this in mind(if the parents were a male skeksis and (born)female human…that would mean the child would probably be both male and female, or an entirely new gender(ik it isn’t science especially since the likelihood of actually bearing offspring with an entirely different species is beyond improbable, but bear with me))

Also given this, That means the child can range from looking more human to more skeksis.

The perfect middle probably has a mix of the best of both. They have four arms, though they might not be fully functional. They have hair atop their head and some downy around their bodies(like around neck, chest, and probably places where humans grow hair instead)

They have much more endurance than their skeksis parent, but much faster than their human parent

And *obnoxiously* strong.

They have five fingers, all ending with extremely sharp nails

Their beak would be smaller, and with pigmentation around their lips like their human parent

They would probably have more pointy human teeth, but more canines than incisors or molars.

Eyes are much bigger, and they would now have tiny ear flaps over their canals
