Tenya sucked in a surprised breath, but he managed to hold back his body's instinctive flinch at Bakugou-kun's escalating anger. His eyes went wide at the display as his doubt about the sincerity Bakugou-kun’s initial reaction proved unhappily well founded. This was much closer to what he’d expected, he had to remind himself as his heart rate ratched up and a spark of familiar anger bubbled up in his own chest. 

He squashed the knee jerk reaction deep, deep below and steadied himself. He would not let his emotions get the better of him. 

“Bakugou-kun,” he said reasonably, holding up his palms face forward in a peace-keeping gesture, “Please. Surely we can discuss this like rational adults. At least tell what it is about me you find unsuitable first.” He had a few ideas on what his objections might be, he’d even wrote out a list and planned how he might try to convince Bakugou-kun in response to each one. He felt confident he could at least move his classmate to consider his words, even if he wasn’t convinced right away.

Tenya felt the muscles of his neck and shoulders bunch with tension as if anticipating a blow while he waited for his response. Bakugou-kun was not always the most careful with his words, and he was braced for his very loud disapproval. Not only because Tenya was attempting to court his childhood friend, but because Tenya was not exactly the most suitable partner for him.

He’d braced for the possibility and accepted it as his due. He would likely face even more difficult obstacles than Bakugou-kun as he pursued this relationship, and for a time, he’d let his fear about such obstacles keep him from acknowledging his deep affection for his friend, but no longer.

Midoriya-kun was worth it.

He dearly hoped it would not come to a drawn out disagreement between himself and Bakugou-kun, though. It would make gaining his approval that much more difficult, and any relationship with Midoriya-kun that lacked Bakugou-kun’s approval was destined to fail. For all his rough edges, however, Tenya did not think he would be cruel, and he held out hope he would earn his approval with time and persistence.

It was with these thoughts bubbling back to the surface of his mind, his muscles wound tight with the anticipation of trouble that he received his answer. And it was…not precisely the answer he was expecting. He blinked, hesitating.

A shamefully overwhelming part of him wanted to quickly accept his answer at face value, to leave before he changed his mind, but he couldn’t help but feel that something was…anti-climactic about his answer. As class president, Tenya made it a point to study his classmates so that he might notice when they were troubled and proactively work to ease those troubles, but he couldn’t quite parse what form of irritation Bakugou-kun’s expression was taking.

“Are you certain?” he asked, internally berating himself for hurting his chances.

Standing there staring at Iida only worsened that feeling. That unpleasant twisting in his gut–his chest–making him nauseated. He didn’t like it. Why did he feel this way? Like something was wrong. Like something was at risk. Anxiety. Fight or flight. His shoulders slowly tensed, his fingers flexing where they rested on his arms folded to his chest. He was already closed-off from his classmate, and the wall was building higher and higher every second that ticked by.

The longer he stood there, the longer they stood there, the less he felt fine with what Iida had requested of him. Why? What did he care if other people were looking at Izuku? Katsuki didn’t own him. The nerd could do whatever he wanted, date whoever he wanted. But the longer he thought on it, the less fine he was. The more I don’t give a shit turned into fuck you. They weren’t even friends, not really, things were… weird, between them. Complicated. Convoluted. Their lives were woven together, connected more than anyone could really understand. If a red thread existed in a platonic sense, if he were sentimental, it might be something like that.

But what did he feel? Why did it matter? Izuku liked girls anyway, and for all his intelligence he was dense as a fucking brick. It was unlikely Iida would get anywhere with his confession, other than maybe a polite and possibly awkward decline, but the what if was apparently enough to have his guts writhing around like horrible little worms.

Bakugou clicked his tongue, a quiet tch that signified his building anger at his own inner turmoil and Iida’s very presence. He didn’t want him in the room anymore, in this shared space. He visibly bristled at the innocent enough question, agitation coming clearer now in fidgeting movements and little snap-crackles of his Quirk popping off. “Fuck off,” he snapped, lashing out. “Take your confession and shove it up your ass with the stick that wedged itself up there. You don’t get my fucking blessing.” Izuku deserves to be happy, a tiny little voice in his head chimed, only adding fuel to the fire. “Get out before I blast your face off.”

Hello hello everyone! I am slowly getting back into roleplay after being out of grad school. I love to roleplay and want to get back into it. I have many ships and fandoms. I also love Oc x Oc in either fandom or fandomless. This will constantly be updating as I weave in and out of fandoms. Right now I am really wanting to just do BHNA.

So I’m Jessi/Chaos. I go as both online and don’t mind either one. I’m 20+ and only roleplay with 20+. Minors DNI, please. I do literate roleplay (one-three paragraphs) in third person. I am not picky about grammar or spelling since I myself have dyslexia. As long as it isn’t too bad I wont say a thing. I write on discord because I love to make a server for whoever I am roleplaying with so we can do multiple RP, plot, and just talk. All I ask is that you write a paragraph in response. You don’t have to go too crazy. 

I love plotting and coming up with random stuff. I also don’t mind NSFW and lean more into that. I am down for just about anything but it is something that needs to be discussed beforehand. I like fluff, romance, slow burns, and angst. I also enjoy omegaverse. I want all characters aged up too. I have a few plots/ideas for certain ships, but if you have any I would be down as well!

Tenya remained at attention from his spot at the prince’s door while the other read, staying still despite his stiff shoulders so that the creak and clink of his armor wouldn’t disturb His Highness.

Still, despite his best efforts to keep his eyes fixed straight ahead, Tenya’s gaze kept slipping to Prince Shouto. He’d made it a point to study the prince and his habits since he’d begun his duty as his personal guard. It was prudent as it might become necessary to spot signs of illness or poison, as well as to be able to react quickly with little communication in a crisis. He’d also come to find it useful in general to study others if he wanted to truly understand their intentions, as people were in the frustrating habit of not simply stating what they meant. 

Still the reason his eyes were drawn to the prince today went beyond mere practicality. He just couldn’t shape the sense that something was…off about the prince the past couple days.

He was by no means an expert in the prince’s mannerisms after such a short amount of time, however, even he couldn’t help but notice the prince’s apparent distraction. Tenya wondered for the dozenth time if he should inquire after his well being. If it were anyone other than his dual-haired charge, it wouldn’t even be a question, but he’d promised to remain as unobtrusive as possible. Would he be breaking his promise if he simply asked, he wondered. 

Tenya was still weighing the possible consequences and avenues of asking after the prince’s health when his stomach chose that moment to break the silence with a deafening growl. His eyes widened in alarm, his face going beat red as he glanced at the prince. He’d not had an appetite in the morning after a fitful night’s sleep, and he hadn’t wanted to delay his return to the prince any longer than necessary after the daily tasks his prince had set for him took longer than expected, so he’d foregone his usual lunch.

Those were merely excuses, though. If he had managed his time better or forced himself to eat as he knew he should've, he would not be in his current predicament. “Please excuse me, Your Highness,” Tenya said, bowing his head.

My quirk & how it works: the ability to absorb and control ultraviolet radiation to create destructive energy bolts called "blackbolts". This radiation is converted into pure energy that gives me incredible strength, speed, and durability. But unlike my sister, i do not possess the ability to fly due to an illness I had when I was just a child, but that was worked out by science.
