Although the boat saving our lives from being snuffed out by the apocalypse was a luxury that it seemed no one else could afford, it had its downsides…such as the constant close quarters with everyone on board, as well as the boredom. It feels like such a selfish thing to admit whilst knowing about the fates of those we knew and loved that we couldn’t save, but at the same time I didn’t ask to be thrown into this hellscape, surely I should be allowed a pass on my lack of gratitude.

One of those who were not able to survive long enough to see life on the boat was Liza, Chris’s mother- the boy would not let us forget his grief and her loss, with it being written across his face as if it was stuck in a permanent frown. Most of us if not everyone aboard tried to avoid him and his snaps and cold tone, however as one of the only other teenagers on the sea with him I felt it was my duty to at least try to connect with him, especially after he had saved my life during the city riots at the start after I had lost my own parents in the chaos and the dead.

Chris was sat looking up at the stars on the outer deck of the boat alone. The day had been a rough one, with Liza’s sea burial not going so smoothly, tensions were high between him and his father Travis.

“Hey stranger” I said warmly as I emerged from the inner boat wrapped in a blanket, making my way over to the troubled boy.

“Hey..” He replied solemnly glancing over to me, his eyes following me until I was sat cross legged next to him. I held a spare small blanket out to the boy who declined the gesture by pushing it gently back towards me. Rolling my eyes playfully, I sat up on my knees and wrapped it around his shoulders, making him blush and stiffen for a moment, only to relax once I had sat back down again. The silence between us was deafeningly awkward.

“Soo.. Whatcha doing out here?”

“The stars are so peaceful tonight..” He quietly replied as he gazed up into the moonlit sky.

“Yeah, that’s one good thing about life nowadays.. you can see all of the stars you wouldn’t be able to with all the big city lights back at home.” I smiled gently at him and he glanced down at me before going back to star gazing. He was in deep thought and holding back tears as he kept his head held high trying to stop them from spilling out, eventually failing as I watched one stray tear roll down his cheek.

“Chris, we don’t have to talk about it if you don’t want to, but I am here for you and can be a shoulder to cry on if you need it…I really care about you…” After a few moments he lowered his head to look at me and his eyes were bloodshot and glossy. He stared into my eyes as if searching for something lost, and eventually raised the corners of his mouth into a weak smile to tell me,

“Thank you.”

After a few moments of silence and us smiling at each other he looks to the side out to the water, “I feel like… no one understands what I feel here… my dad doesn’t care that she is gone, he didn’t care about her he’s too busy with his new family… you are the only person that I think cared that she died.”

We sat in silence for a while, thinking about what he had said, before Chris broke it again.

“Sorry…That was pretty heavy…”

I let out a soft chuckle and reassured him, “Hey, I can handle anything you know… I’m superwoman but for like…listening to people I care about” attempting to lighten the mood a bit and nudging him on the shoulder, which seemed to work as I caught him smiling to himself and playfully nudging me back.

“Yeah yeah don’t get cocky…” He smirks at me and I mock offence, dramatically putting a hand on my chest and joking back to him, “Me? Cocky? I could never- How dare you even THINK that…” I giggled watching him roll his eyes at my dramatic outburst.

“You are so immature,” he starts, “Sometimes I wonder why we are friends…” He stares at me for a moment as if he were analysing my every movement, before his eyes land on the blanket wrapped around me like a burrito and he decides to quickly snatch it from me, laughing and saying “Maybe it’s because you’re so generous for giving me your blanket”

“HEY!!” I shout as I sit in shock for a split second before lunging at him, wrapping my arms around his shoulders in an attempt to get the blanket back around myself. We are both wriggling around at this point trying to reclaim the blanket, as we forgot that the couch had a limited space, so when he eventually tried to get me off of him we both rolled down the steel drop from the couch to the deck, landing with a thud onto my back and physically wincing at the sudden pains shooting through my back. I was more shocked however to feel Chris landing on top of me, and when I opened my eyes he was there leaning over me, his hands either side of my head. We both just stare into each other’s eyes for a few seconds too long, getting lost in his dark coffee coloured eyes; this then led to me scanning his face and admiring his undeniably handsome features and plump lips that he had begun to nibble into nervously. Feeling the blood start to rush to my face I decided to break the silence.

“Okay okay I didn’t realise that it was that serious to you…keep the blanket Manawa!” I giggled and poked his sides to shock him, which worked and his cheeks began to flush. He picked me up and I gasped, grasping onto his shirt incase he dropped me, but instead he put me onto the couch and sat next to me, opening up the blanket inviting me to sit wrapped up with him, which I accepted and crawled into his side, getting comfortable next to him as he settled the blanket over us both.

We sat awkwardly close to each other in silence for a few minutes, neither one of us wanting to scare the other away, but then Chris grabbed my hand underneath the blanket and without looking at me he said, “Thank you, Y/N… I needed this distraction from..everything…” he glances over at me “…you mean a lot to me…even if we have only just met, I feel like I have known you a lifetime, but it’s only been a month.”

I smile warmly at his words and glance at him before engulfing him into a tight hug, which he takes a few seconds to return.

“Chris, you mean a lot to me too. I would risk anything and everything for you, you are all I have left…” I feel the tears start to well up as i pull out of the hug and look him in the eyes, “…so you better not do anything stupid” I laugh and wipe my tears off of my face. He sits with an arm over my shoulders and laughs quietly about what I said.

“Maybe you aren’t ALWAYS immature and crazy… At least you aren’t boring.”

in solo Skyblock, we.. dont? really know?? what his deal is??? like, its probably not the same Wanderer as hcyt, just same skin and nickname. (FUN FACT: WANDERER WAS NEARLY TVIKING. Viking ran a poll on, like, third day of tsmp on what skin he should use and the options were normal, Wanderer, or Create. Create won. solar is very normal about this.)

but also like. hey did you know: Viking has a lore channel in his discord that he barely uses, but is definitely solo Skyblock considering timing and that first message's text being In An Episode:

(and Navigator) reacts to Wanderer getting "borrowed" by Olm, Wanderer is not supposed to be in the Shrouded Isles, but Avid has a whole-ass timeline written out and modern-day Avid Adventures takes place like 8,000 years in the future, so solo Skyblock could potentially fit into that if Olm like. yoinked Wanderer through time rather than space. i dont know man

Omg I loved how you played out my req so well! I liked how instead of R or Hobie's POV, It was Yuri's instead. It's a pleasant change, and I like how we got to see inside the thoughts of one of Hobie's bandmates ever since the apocalypse happened! Overall, I loved it:) Daily Hobie HC! Band AU time cus we havent had that in a hot minute! After every practice that you both have with the others, Hobie practically teleports into the kitchen, immediately putting on the kettle to make you some honey lemon tea to soothe your throat and make sure you still have your lovely singing voice. As you two settle down, he practically goes limp in your arms, allowing you to do whatever you want to him while he enjoys the warmth of your fingers massaging his hands, relieving him of cramps. With his head on your lap, your fingers working expertly on his muscles and a tea with the perfect ratio of honey and lemon (somehow Hobie gets it every time), it's usually a peaceful hour or two after practice...and depending how late you both got home, usually followed up by some teasing. However, if you're unlucky due to whatever circumstance (hobie's probably temporarily died then if you cant have your honey lemon tea from him) If you talk to him with a sore throat/lost voice, he'll tease the living shit out of you and be so gentle at the same time. Hobie will lean slightly into you, tilting his head towards you so he's able to hear what you're trying to say to him better. Even if he gets hand cramps during practice, with how hard he's playing the damn guitar, the others are quite surprised how fast you're willing to abandon the mic (without dropping it) to tend to him. Even Hobie's surprised, trying to usher you back so they can continue, yet he can't deny how nice it feels as your fingers work nimbly and quickly at his hand, the warmth easing the cramps. I bet as much as you both would want to deny it, Hobie knows there's so way possible that you two, multiple times during band practice, will try to be louder than the other. It's a common occurrence to be told to 'shut up and stop riling the other one up'...but Hobie just can't help it. He wants to see how far you both can push yourselves, even if it pisses off Ned. If he can, Hobie absolutely adores seeing you sing. If he hears any sort of song coming from you, whether it'd be something he'd listen to or not, he'd nonchalantly just lean against whatever he can that's out of your vision, listening until you've stopped and finally acknowledged him. When Hobie realizes that you're humming one of the band's songs, he'll grab his guitar and quietly strum to it, slowly increasing in volume until you notice. Every time he's done this, it ends up being a mini concert in the boathouse. Imagine in the Billie and Ramona AU too- For example, you'd be singing one of your favourite songs from the band to them, their legs swinging to and fro as they sat on the counter, watching you make hot chocolate. If Hobie is lucky to be able to catch you doing so, he'll immediately begin boasting about you to his daughters, exclaiming how you used to be in the exact same band as Aunty Yuri, watching as their eyes sparkle and your eyes roll with a flustered look on your face. (I bet Yuri's the favourite of Billie and Ramona you cant tell me otherwise) Also I have recently discovered the band South Arcade and I LOVE their songs??? Some songs I'd recommend (if you wanna listen to them) are Riptide, Silverlight, Nepo Baby and New Fever Why? Because I adore those songs specifically and they are SO GOOD -🐦‍⬛

set in greece, a fictional telling of the peloponnesian war, honestly really really fun :) i love the AC games and this one having a more RPG angle wasnt popular w/ the dudebros but its popular with ME! i love doomed siblings and fighting fate! what if you were two children doomed by the pythia and one of you was raised by a violent cult into thinking you were a demigod but instead you were a tool, and the other was forced to flee home raise themself into a hero of the people and save greece from this cult.....and then youre faced with your baby sibling who you tried and failed to save decades ago

they dont tell you this but palia is a post-apocalyptic game set a hundreds of thousands of years after humans were killed off by some sort of cataclysmic event and all thats left of us are memories of concrete jungles and wires like veins permanently left behind in the memory discs of sentient robots we created to help us who got left behind. you play as a human who came out of some hibernation, separated by your own past by thousands of years and amnesia, and you befriend the townsfolk and try to make a life :) it just looks like a cute life/farming sim

the outer worlds

soooo fun its like if the fallout sense of humor + post apocalypse capitalist doomerism met the sci-fi fun of the mass effect games. which makes sense because the studio who made the most popular fallout game made this one. youre unfrozen out of hibernation and used as a guinea pig to gather material and information for the mad scientist who freed you, working with very little information but a whole lot of incentive. you accidentally crash land on the guy who was supposed to give you a ride off this planet you were just shucked onto. now youre impersonating him. humanity is spread across a system and capitalism-as-a-religion runs it all.

mass effect 1

ive always been obsessed with ME's fantasy sibling dragon age so im trying the mass effect games out... its a dense sci fi and a little clunky but shes from 2007 and both percy and gabe love these games so im persevering. the story is really fun (its about what constitutes "being alive" and personhood) but i feel like ive barely scratched the surface so far!! currently playing this one as im typing

Will Byers was absolutely smitten.

Mike was sure of it, he could see it in his eyes. Even worse, Mike knew that there was absolutely nothing he could do to stop it. He was stuck at home with a “sprained ankle” (he still didn’t trust his mother’s diagnosis seeing as she was not a medical professional) while everyone else went out on missions.

Everyone else was out doing supply runs, and fighting monsters, and falling in love. Okay, not love. God, Mike hoped not.

The Wheeler house had become sort of a home base, it was still intact and it was the largest house available. Plus, being hospitable made Karen feel useful.

After missions, everyone would usually return to the house for food or a safe place to sleep. Or they’d gather in the living room and chat. Mike had been essentially living on the living room sofa, since he couldn’t climb the stairs without help and he refused help. So even though Mike wasn’t allowed on the missions, he could listen to everyone talking about them.

He was jealous, and bored. Perhaps he was going a little crazy.

One of the things he’d gathered from listening in was that there were assigned partners on these missions. Everyone had someone to watch their back. Which was good, he supposed.

The problem was, Will seemed to have bonded with his partner.

Mike hated her. He hated the stupid heart eyes Will was constantly giving her.

Robin fucking Buckley.

Mike wasn’t even sure when exactly she became part of the team. When exactly she found out about the Upside Down. A few years ago, she was just the exasperated girl behind the Scoops Ahoy counter who rolled her eyes every time they came to force Steve to sneak them into a movie. Then she… cracked a Russian code? Mike was still fuzzy on the details of that whole ordeal.

Now, ever since she and Will had been working together on missions, she was basically all Will could talk about.

“That reminds me of something Robin said…”

“Robin’s actually really funny, you should talk to her…”

“Have you seen Robin?”

Will was so obviously obsessed, it made Mike want to throw up.

She was too old for him anyway. RIght? Mike wasn’t sure exactly how old she was. He never paid much attention before.

He had, however, been collecting information about her over the past few weeks. For totally normal, not jealous reasons.

He knew she spent most of her time alone with Steve, but they were not dating, much to Dustin’s chagrin. He knew people thought she was funny, because they were always laughing around her. He knew she talked a lot, and really fast. He knew she was sarcastic, which he resented. He knew she was friends with his sister. He knew that when she was alone, she always looked kind of sad. He knew she was pretty. He knew she was smart, at least according to Dustin, who seemed a reliable source. He knew she was kind to Will. He knew she kept him safe, like Mike used to.

This was all information he’d gathered purely from observation. He never asked Will about her, because he didn’t care. Not in the slightest.

He most certainly didn’t care as he sat on the couch with his leg propped up and watched Will and Robin walk through the front door of the Wheeler house, talking and laughing. He continued to not care as Will said something to her and then turned to look at him, his face lighting up as soon as their eyes met. Probably because he was excited to tell Mike more about how great Robin was.

Robin. What kind of stupid name was that anyway? It’s a bird. It shouldn’t be the name of a person.

He snapped out of his hatred induced trance-like state as Will plopped down on the couch next to him, so close their sides were pressed together.

It was a big couch…

He was probably saving room in case Robin wanted to sit.

“How’s the leg?” Will asked with a small smile.

Mike shrugged, “Fine.”

Will’s smile faded, “You okay?” he asked.

Mike stared at his lap and picked at a thread on his shorts. “Yeah,” he mumbled.

“Mike, what’s wrong?” Will asked, sounding concerned.

Of course he was concerned. Will was the best friend in the world. The problem was, Mike couldn’t tell him what was wrong. He couldn’t say, “I know you have a giant crush on Robin and it’s actually driving me slowly toward the brink of madness because I’m having some very strange feelings toward you that I’ve thus far chosen not to think too hard about, but I’ve been stuck in this house alone all day for weeks and it’s kind of hard not to think about them, so I think I’ve come to the tentative conclusion that I’m in love with you.”

He really couldn’t say that, but honestly it was on the tip of his tongue pretty much constantly.

“I uh… my leg just hurts,” he said instead.

Will furrowed his brow, “You just said it was fine.”

Mike sighed, “Yeah, well…”

Will hesitated. Mike could practically hear him debating with himself whether to push the issue. Mercifully, he didn’t. “You want to see something to cheer you up?” he asked.

Mike smiled, he couldn’t help it. “Sure.”

Will nodded and stood up from the couch, he went upstairs to Mike’s room where he’d been staying, and returned with his sketchbook in hand.

Mike’s heart soared. He loved seeing Will’s art, more than anything.

Will sat back down, not quite as close as before. Mike resisted the urge to scoot closer and close the gap.

Will opened the sketchbook on his lap, and Mike looked down at the pages. On one side, there was a sketch of Will and Mike in their DnD personas. It was beautiful. It was mesmerizing. It made Mike feel things. Things like the desire to grab Will’s face and kiss him square on the mouth.

Mike couldn’t focus on that for long though. Because on the opposite page, was a half done sketch of Robin. Her head was thrown back in a laugh and her stupid hair was cascading over her shoulders. It was gorgeous. Of course it was, Will did it.

Mike glanced up at Will. He looked nervous, his face was a little red.

Oh god, was he about to tell Mike about his crush on Robin? Was showing him the sketch his way of doing it?

Why else would he be nervous? There was no reason for Will to be nervous about showing Mike a sketch of the two of them.

Unless…

No. Mike couldn’t even go there. Hoping would be a terrible thing to do to himself. Especially considering Will’s obvious infatuation with one Robin Buckley.

He took a shaky breath. “Cool,” he said.

Will looked nervous still. “Cool?” he asked.

Mike nodded quickly, “Yeah. they’re really cool.”

Will paused. “Oh. I was really just wanting to show you this one,” he said pointing to the sketch of Mike and himself.

Mike’s pulse quickened. He should say something. Something normal.

“Do you like Robin?” he blurted out.

Great. Really great, Mike. Super cool.

Will raised his eyebrows. “Like… like her?” he asked.

Mike wished the couch cushions would open up and swallow him like loose change, never to be found again. Unfortunately they did not, so he was forced to continue the conversation.

“Yeah, I guess,” he said awkwardly.

Will laughed a little. Why was he laughing?

“No, Mike. I don’t like Robin,” Will said.

“Oh,” Mike said.

“Oh,” Will repeated with a smirk.

They sat in silence for a moment, then Mike blurted, “Are you sure? You know you can tell me if you do. I won’t get mad.”

God. Shut up! “I won’t get mad?” Why the fuck would you get mad?

Will laughed nervously. “Uh… yeah. I’m sure. Like, very sure.”

Mike’s head was reeling. It seemed like Will was telling the truth. He had no reason to lie.

“I’m not really… Robin’s type anyway. I mean, she’s not mine either, and she’s older. Really, we’re just friends,” Will rambled.

Mike was ecstatic. He couldn’t help the grin that spread across his face as he said, “Okay.”

Will smiled back, but then he looked nervous again. “I uh… I kind of like someone else anyway,” he said, his face bright red.

“Oh. Okay,” Mike said.

(i think its super funny bc, like sure w a 19 for wisdom he probably wouldnt fail wis saves, but on the off chance that he did, viscious mockery, a bard cantrip, will knock him out no matter what, and if it rolls i think a 3 or 4 it completely kills him. he could be killed by a single insult.)

(thats actually something id say maybe doesnt work well with sydneys high wis. so far it seems like, while he is quite observant, hes not always super great at reading the room, or at least thats what ive gathered)

also idk about the charisma bc so far jedidiah seems a bit more put together in the persuasion/deception/intimidation area of things.

i should preface this by saying that i dont think shes like. a bad person. and i dont have some secret knowledge of problematique things shes done that we should all Cancel her for.

tl;dr i just think her videos are really bad. she keeps making videos about stuff that i was there for and then being wrong about them, and it drives me crazy. on top of that, it just rubs me the wrong way to make your whole brand "the lady who talks about tumblr"

like, i think her homestuck video sucks (and i think its very funny that she admitted that she only spent a week making it, but ALSO got really defensive when people said she was wrong about stuff. like, i think the way whatpumpkin and andrew hussie responded to her video was Bad but also that doesnt retroactively defend the original video from being poorly researched and, in my opinion, in bad taste. it was weird to make a video where you talk about all the controversy about hs^2 not that long after the whole project got cancelled because too many of the trans women working on it were receiving daily death threats)

and i think the mcelroys video sucks (that was the last one i watched before i gave up entirely. its really long and very boring, and basically is just her listing a bunch of stuff they did that people had problems with, which essentially puts "travis was annoying on twitch" on the same level of seriousness as "taz: graduation used a lot of harmful native american stereotypes". i genuinely am not sure what the point of this video was supposed to be, because it feels like its her reading a tumblr callout post. also she was wrong about taz: amnesty. the ending WAS foreshadowed, it did NOT come out of nowhere, she just wasnt paying attention.)

but the onceler fandom video is honestly the absolute pits. i am still friends with a lot of the people that i was in the onceler fandom with, and i genuinely havent met a single former onceslut who thought her video was good, or the least bit accurate. her thesis basically boils down to that the onceler fandom was just a bunch of young teen girls projecting fantasies onto a nonthreating decently attractive fictional guy, which isnt that weird and people are only making a big thing about it because they hate teenage girls. and her conclusions arent WRONG, per say, since people DO hate teen girls and this is a thing theyre known to do... its just. thats literally not what the onceler fandom was at all?? first off, when i got into it i was 17 and i was the youngest person i knew by far. almost everyone i saw in the fandom were in their 20s, and a lot of them were not girls at all. and as far as any of US remember, the thing sustained the fandom wasnt 13 year old girls exploring their nascent sexualities, it was people using the barest pretense to make OCs, and then craft stories with and about their friends OCs. it was a really cool unique experience because it was a fandom for the things the fandom built. a lot of the people i knew had never watched the movie The Lorax at all, or didnt really care about it one way or another, but DID get really invested in the dynamic between Swag and One, or got really invested in the two big AUs the fandom had. By the time i got there, most people had kinda moved away from the canon onceler anyway, and were focused almost exclusively on the AUs (there was a high school AU and a zombie apocalypse AU, and then during the summer the high school AU blogs would do a child summer camp AU. i liked the zombie one best because i love melodrama, but the high school one was most popular). i know she was IN the onceler fandom (allegedly...) but as far as i can tell, she was just there at the very start, because it changed WILDLY even just a few months after its inception. and there's no way anyone who saw the fandom that I was actually in would make the sweeping statements about it that she did.

broadly, her videos are too unfocused and not really well-written. her one on Oppa Homeless Style was a genuinely good video!! I know she CAN do good videos!! But so many of her more fandom-focused videos dont really seem to have a thesis beyond "this happened" or maybe even "this was kinda weird right?". like what is the viewer supposed to take away from the video about the mcleroys? that they made a podcast that was really popular and then got less popular? why did that take you TWO HOURS to say? and even when she does have a strong thesis, its always muddied by the fact that she feels compelled to add in really long, boring digressions. I think the video about All or Nothing was good, and made an interesting point about how pan and ace people are really starved for meaningful rep, but i dont understand why she felt compelled to recount the entire plot of the webseries someone made? what did that contribute to the thesis? its like shes reading a wikipedia page, and not like. an actual ESSAY. that someone structured to convey a POINT.

but overall i just take umbrage with her whole "tumblr historian" shtick. i think its kind of gross to put really niche (generally woman-dominated) subcultures on display so people can come gawk at the freaks. ive heard the defense that "she IS a fandom person!! these videos are FOR fandom people!!" but 1. if its supposedly supposed to be for me and NOT an audience of people unfamiliar with the thing shes talking about, then there would be no need to spend so long explaining what everything is, and 2. i can at least say, in my own subjective experience, that i said basically all this to my sister, who told me that thats why she likes sarah z at all, because the videos let her come gawk at all the fandom freaks on tumblr. so its cool that sarah z is giving the person who bullied me my whole life (specifically because the way i engaged with media was too cringe) more reasons to bully me for being cringe. big preesh sarah. glad youre making money off of the free content all of us put out, and even more glad that youre profiting by taking all that free content and presenting it to a largely hostile and judgemental audience who already thinks im a fucking idiot. why dont you make a video about my popular hamlet post next, since you seem to make videos exclusively about things i did.

anyway if i want to watch video essays about fandom, i'll watch princess weekes, whose videos are substantive and not... idk very juvenile. not that i think there cant be more than one youtuber talking about fandom!!! its just that sarah z's videos are mid at best and actively bad at worst, so im not gonna bother.

the year is 2008, sam and dean are investigating a vampire coven in a normal town in indiana.

steddie and ronance own a duplex together, they do this bc steve and robin are codependent like that, they even have a door on the insides that connect the homes and all four of them will walk in to the others homes whenever they want.

eddie is a famous but only in metal circles musician, steve is an elementary teacher, robin is an interpreter, and nancy is crime journalist.

nancy in her research has been seeing a lot of weird shit happening in their town, weird bodies with weird gnarly wounds on them. it rings alarm bells in her head screaming "demagorgon!" over and over again.

she approaches robin first, "something weird is happening, and i might be crazy bc el said the gates were 100% closed, i even called her to double check, but these bodies are not normal and my gut is telling me something is wrong."

robin immediately believes nancy, they read in the boys and make a game plan.

nancy says that everything seems localized to one area of the town, so they investigate together during the day on the weekend.

in their investigation they run into same and dean. who look at this group of 40-something year olds, with a nail studded bat, a sawed off shotgun, a... sword? and immediately assume theyre hunters.

the lady with the shotgun stands in front of the group, "who the hell are you?" the pretty one chokes up on the bat preparing to swing, taking a protective stance in front of the other two.

"hey hey hey hey hey hold up lady, we're on the same side we're hunters too! We're lookin for the vamps!"

"Vamps? as in vampires? as in undead creatures of the night who suck your blood?" the other woman starts babbling.

sam and dean are immediately confused. but blah blah blah more dialogue and exposition, long story short they end up at a dive bar to discuss whats happening in the town. (brief interlude of steve absolutely FREAKING OUT over the impala)

the fruity four immediately want to help kill the vamps, sam and dean are hesitant to let a bunch of rookies on the scene, but robin says something about this not being their first rodeo and nancy and steve are kind of scary so they relent.

the entire time, dean keeps looking at eddie, like he knows him, like he's trying to place him, it's not until they're all deep in the vampire nest that he sees eddie swing the sword recklessly that he realizes that that's eddie freaking munson but dean cant freak out about bc a vampire is on his ass.

it was probably the fastest that sam and dean ever dispatched of a vampire nest. no one was seriously hurt and all the vamps were dead.

the fruity four invite sam and dean over their house where they realize that its not steve&robin and eddie&nancy, but steve&eddie and robin&nancy

dean watches the couples a lot closer after that, something deep and buried is clawing its way out, thoughts of a trench coat and a gravelly voice flit through his mind.

eddie and steve give dean a knowing look, something that made him feel more seen than he has ever felt in all his years on this earth. he looks away from them, unable to cope with being bared open by virtual strangers.

the six of them chat, they offer sam and dean a room to sleep in, "the kids usually stay in those rooms, but they havent been buy in a while so it should be fine for you guys, we've got plenty of space, and better water pressure than whatever shitty motel your staying at"

from then on, steve and robin check in with the boys at least once a week, to make sure theyre doing okay. sam and dean always stop by if they're passing through the area, nancy creates a network for hunters, eventually opening her own bar (like the roadhouse)

when the apocalypse begins for real for real, the fruity four plus a tiny army of seemingly normal people show up to fight alongside sam and dean. including a woman who can move things with her mind, without demon blood.
