like the whole driving conflict of MHA is whether the status quo truly protects the people it claims to protect, and how. the pro heroes are of the opinion that it does because they, with the ability to live functionally within it, can focus on casualties and the way that the average person who can mostly live within the system is protected by the acts of Heroes. the villains are of the opinion that it doesn't, because they've personally been failed by it as some of its most vulnerable members and have seen the way other people who cannot live within the system are then prevented by it from living free and full lives. (that's also why shigaraki's story is made stupid as fuck by the twist that AfO intentionally gave him a broken and destructive quirk. the whole point of him was not 'bad people ruined your life on purpose because they hated you,' it was 'you were born wrong in a society that punishes things people cannot control and had no choice but to ostracize yourself from it.' except someone COULD control it. apparently.) the correct answer is, of course, somewhere in between, and it would have made sense for izuku to find that balance having blended his own ideology with what he learned from shigaraki. and part of finding that balance is realizing that the nature itself of someone's power doesn't come from their abilities, but from who they target and why. horikoshi kind of tries to hint at this a bit with the whole idea that there should be more focus on non-quirk-using heroic acts and that people need to focus more on what they can do instead of what they can't, but izuku becoming quirkless and satisfied with that would have been a much better, more meaningful ending for that story.
all might, and the power he grants izuku, represents an old guard that no longer has a place in izuku's story. am i saying get rid of all might? no lmao. but EOD he is someone who became a hero by going from powerless to powerful, and using that power to be a savior to others. to him for most of his life, there were villains and victims, and they didn't overlap. to be honest, more of 1A should have not become heroes. i don't really have anyone specific in mind, but it really undercuts the idea that quirks and power and training aren't what's necessary to make a difference when everyone in the main story is a professional at using their power. why didn't fighting a literal war change any of them as people, even izuku? why didn't it seem to actually change uraraka's trajectory at all that one of her first feelings as a professional hero is that she feels responsible for an avoidable death of someone very similar to herself? why didn't the injuries people like jirou and bakugo sustained force any of them to pursue a different path? why didn't it seem to cause any issues with anyone's emotional state that aoyama was a traitor putting all of their lives in danger, and why was it never explored more that he did this because he, like izuku, suffered as someone without powers in a society that stratifies by inborn traits above all else?
the ending of mha doesn't suck because 'izuku lost his quirk!' or 'izuku was abandoned by 1a!' or any of that bullshit. the ending of mha sucks because it's the exact thing that would have happened if 0 of the major events of the story had occurred: class 1A graduates from UA and all become heroes together, with izuku using ingenuity and support items to get by without a quirk. it's not that predictability is the issue. it's that everyone on the protagonist's side got exactly what they wanted the very first time we ever met them, no more and no less. and if that's how it is, why the fuck did we bother reading and writing about this 9 year period of their lives?
you think the mha ending sucks because izuku lost all for one. EYE think the mha ending sucks because izuku got a mech suit that basically replaced his powers instead of committing to the way his life has changed. we are not the same

thinkin about how badly it would hurt if uraraka was the traitor....im thinking she has to get dragged into it when she moves into her new apartment but before the entrance exam like that small window of time
and like shes just pressured into it and she doesnt realize just how fucked its gonna get so she thinks she can handle it on her own. since she knows she cant just fight a group of villains outright, since shes not strong enough or technically legally allowed to (no provisional license yet), she goes along with it for the moment.
but then the usj happens and her favorite hero almost got killed, along with her classmates and teachers, and she realizes no, no, she doesnt want to do this anymore.
but shes in too deep and the league know that as well as her. theres no way she’d be able to stay at ua if they found out (and the league would definitely make sure ua knew she was a spy if she tried to get out) and how could she provide for her parents that way?? no other hero school would ever take her. would she even be a free person? would she go to jail? so shes forced to stay. she cant help the tiny voice in her head insisting there must be another option, though.
every day she feels worse and worse because her loyalty to her friends and her loyalty to her family are sending her in two different directions and she feels like an awful person and maybe she is but dammit shes trying.
aoyama asks her if she’s crushing on midoriya, and for a fleeting moment, she panics, wonders, what if i am?
but then, as she watches him struggle with bakugou, as she watches him win despite the lack of cooperation his partner gave him, she realizes, no, i dont have a crush on deku.
i just wish i could be strong like him.
and then the training camp gets attacked. she knew it would happen but not when or why. shes scared as shit that toga is gonna blow her cover when she runs into her with tsu, but that doesnt happen (thankfully)(?).
she cant get the scream midoriya lets out when bakugou gets taken out of her head.
then all might fights all for one (she tries not to blame herself for his retirement afterward, but thoughts screaming at her that he was only there to rescue bakugou -- a kidnapping she had a part in -- wont leave her alone). bakugou gets rescued.
she watches it all go down on live television and shes so excited and scared and so many feelings are pooling in her stomach and adrenaline and ice are running through her veins- but all she knows when she sees the tiny video clip of midoriya and iida (along with kirishima) blast out to save bakugou is that she’ll never be a hero, or a good person. not like them, at least.
she feels sick to her stomach all the time and she convinces herself its just from the training with her quirk in preparation for the provisional license exam, but she knows better. she just doesnt acknowledge it besides the lingering shame every time she consciously thinks “im gonna throw up” outside of training.
and as she watches midoriya tear up a bit and bashfully explain how it took many people helping him to get here, and that he’s glad he can prove to them that their investments in him werent in vain, she smiles at him but knows that she’ll never be like him no matter how much she tries. she knows the investments that people have made in her -- that her parents, that her friends have made in her -- are going to be fruitless.
she tries to be proud of herself for getting her own license, but any shreds of happiness she tries to latch on to nowadays pop like bubbles in her hands -- that is, if she can reach said bubbles before they drift away from her grasp.
she tries not to be jealous of midoriya. it’s just that hes everything she wishes she could be.
honest, kind, determined.
selfless.
heroic.

A reason why it would absolutely fuck if Kaminari or Kirishima were the traitor
I'm procrastinating work to write this but I need to get it off my mind. Spoiler warning for current manga chapters.
The way the main heroes and villains have been set up against each other in the Liberation War arc has got me thinking.
It's most obvious with Deku: he wants to try and save Shigaraki even if he's the worst threat to society in a hundred years, he's said so loud and clearly. It's what his character is all about.
Todoroki has his hellish family to deal with, more specifically his hero hopeful turned villain brother Touya. The two are an awesome setup, because Shoto could have turned out like Touya if it hadn't been for Deku. It's even been pointed out. So Shoto is gonna go and fight Touya, and probably even try to save him. (Though I believe he's long past the point of no return, but boy gotta try.)
Third, Uraraka and Toga. From their very first meeting on, Toga has compared the two of them. She relates to Uraraka, in her own weird way, even tho Uraraka doesn't quite get it in the beginning. In the latest arc Toga actually tries to reach out to her and Tsuyu after Twice is killed by Hawks. Maybe it's not a cry for help, but close to one. Either way, it's clear that Uraraka is being challenged into seeing things from Togas perspective. Ultimately it might lead to her doing the Deku "You looked like you needed saving". It would align with her often looking to him for support as kind of an example hero. Her character arc is this or that way leading towards saving Toga.
Now to my actual point.
So the main main cast all get a villain to rescue.
Save Bakugo.
Bakugo has no real villain counterpart yet? Not really. Even tho he's the secondary main character right after Deku.
So what if Bakugos villain counterpart, the villain he gets to save was one of his closest friends? Kaminari or Kirishima? The freaking UA traitor?
I would scream bloody murder. This would be so epic. Bakugo has never been big on saving people, he's more the guy to fry a villains face. So it would be incredibly interesting to see how he deals with one of his best friends going rogue. THE ROOM FOR CHARACTER DEVELOPEMENT. AH. He's already come so far with his issues regarding Deku, and with this next arc (at least the part centered in UA) most likely revolving around him to a great degree, it would be the ultimate challenge.
This is also one reason I believe the traitor won't be someone as insignificant as Hagakure (no offense, she'd be freaking awesome too, but God knows I prefer a cunning traitor Kaminari).
Ultimately BNHAs final wall to overcome, the theme it's playing on, is that noone is born a villain, and true heroes should try to be at least a little empathetic towards villains, try to save them, even if it proves impossible in the end. Weaving the traitor plot into that with Bakugo would make so much sense, thanks for coming to my TED talk.

Tickling! Plus Ultra! 4
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3
<This chapter contains mentions of Manga Spoilers>
“We’re nothing alike.” Bakugo growled at the villain in front of him. “I’m way more cooler than you. I’m gonna be the number one hero.”
“Sure, sure.” Dabi said, waving his hand dismissively. He looked Bakugo up and down, a smirk still plain on his face. Bakugo wanted to blast that stupid look off of that face. It was like Dabi was so calm about everything going on, not at all worried about Bakugo or anything else for that matter.
“You’re all gonna be dead. The pro heroes are going to rip you losers to shreds.” Bakugo said, sparks of flames jumping from his fingertips just thinking about when he would be able to safely fight back against these villains. Of course, he wanted to put out a fight now, but it was definitely too dangerous for him to fight back. Even he knew that.
“Like the last time? Please. You should know by now that the heroes are just about as useful in these situations as the quirkless. The only difference is that they make more of a mess.” Dabi said and licked his lips. He looked around thoughtfully, his hands shoved in the pockets of his jacket. “Listen, you and I both know how a fire can burn, right?”
Bakugo didn’t respond. Just glared at him.
“Right…well, from my observations of the heroes and others like us…they’re far too dangerous to be in the hero business.” Dabi continued, unbothered by the silence of the boy in his care. Bakugo wondered what he meant by that, but didn’t voice his curiosity.
“Take the Number two…well, I suppose, thanks to you, he’s the number one hero now. Endeavour.” Dabi said, spitting out the name as if it were a piece of trash. Bakugo supposed that the league of villains would hate the pro heroes, but the way that Dabi spit out Endeavour’s name made him think that maybe there was something else there.
“Fire. While people like your so-called teachers will try to convince you that the fire you use can be used for their own good. To save…that is not fire’s true nature. It is only to burn.” Dabi said, pressing his fingers against his scarred chin. He turned back to Bakugo and smiled.
“You’re talking fucking nonsense! I can be a number one hero with my flames of fury!” Bakugo said, throwing a ball of fire towards Dabi. The villain easily stepped aside, using his own flames to push Bakugo’s aside.
“We can use our quirks to burn down the false heroes like Endeavor. We can expose them for who they really are!” Dabi laughed, stepping closer to Bakugo. He raised a hand and it looked as if he was going straight to Bakugo’s neck. Then, he stopped.
“You know all about these heroes who claim to better the world, but are only in for their own selfish reasons. After all, the traitor amongst your class informed us about the weaknesses of your dorm so we could snatch you up. Not very heroic.” Dabi tisked, shaking his head. “And then there’s your dear friend Shoto. Has he ever told you about how he had gotten that scar? Why he refuses to use his left side?”
Bakugo went back to being silent. He was seething on the inside. Of course he knew about Half and Half’s scar and the reasoning for it. Ever since the fight between him and Deku, the entire class knew about it. Shoto was slowly coming out of his shell and telling jokes, but they all seemed to be related to his past trauma.
But the thing that was really bothering him was the mention of a…traitor? Someone among their ranks that willingly handed out information to the league of villains? Who the hell would do something so damn stupid?
“I’ll let you think about that for a while, little fireball.” Dabi said, patting his head on Bakugo’s spiky hair.
~
“Oh she’s really giggling now.” Toga laughed as she continued to dig her fingers all over Uraraka’s stomach. She poked around and dug her fingers into Uraraka’s navel. All the poor girl could do was laugh as the tickling continued. It became apparent not too long ago that she definitely couldn’t get herself free from the nomu’s grip.
“EhehahahahahahAH! Nohohoho! Plehehehehehease! Ihihihihhi caahahahahan’t!” She laughed and giggled, her laughter spiking up every time that Toga’s wiggling tickling fingers swiped over her belly button. Unlike Deku, she wasn’t one to wiggle and squirm when she was tickled. All of her energy was usually spent just laughing and trying to think of some kind of counterattack. Not that there was any hope of doing that now.
“You know, your cheeks are usually pretty pink, but this is ridiculous. You’re super ticklish all over this cute little belly. Is that why you leave it so exposed all the time?” Toga teased. It seemed impossible, but Uraraka turned an even darker shade of red as she was teased. This was just about her biggest weakness when it came to tickling. Sure, she was pretty ticklish, but it was the teasing that really got under her skin. Just as she felt as she couldn’t take any more, Deku yelled from the other side of the room.
Using only 10% of his concentrated power, Deku twisted and broke free of the intense grip of the nomu. The monster growled, it’s fangs snapping together in frustration. It reached for him as he landed carefully on the ground.
“Well, I guess I should have worn you out a bit more.” Toga said, stopping her torment of Uraraka and instead pulling out her knives. “Looks like i’ll just have to cut you up a little bit before taking you in as my pet! How fun!”
Deku jumped again, darting out of the grasp of the incoming nomu. He kept a close eye on Toga as she lept towards him. Using his quirk, he darted out of the way from her as well. Instead of looking frustrated, Toga looked thrilled.
“You’ve grown so much my little Deku!” Toga said, shifting her stance in order to face where Deku was bouncing now. It was hard to actually get a good look at him as he was jumping around the room. He was using the ceiling and the surrounding walls as he did so, using basically anything he could as a jumping off point.
He needed to get the others free, but he didn’t know how exactly he was going to do that. It wasn’t as if he could pry them out of the nomu’s grip without seriously injuring them. These monsters were ridiculously strong and any attempt to just pry his friends away using brute force would probably end up in some dislocated shoulders and hips. So how–?
A sharp stab of pain darted through his leg and he stumbled during his run, half smashing himself into a nearby wall.
“There we go! I knew I would get you eventually if I just kept throwing my knives!” Toga laughed, getting another handful of her knives in order to get another shot. It didn’t appear as if she would stop until he was a bloody heap…she was having far too much fun. Suddenly, Deku stopped. He stood between Toga and his captured friends.
“Toga. I’ll go with you. Willingly.” Deku stated with more confidence than he felt. He was terrified of what this maniac would do to him. Especially after all of that tickling had taken him apart so carefully.
“No! You can’t!” Uraraka exclaimed, straining against the Nomu’s grip.
“Don’t give up yet, Deku! You can take her!” Kirishima yelled. Honestly, Deku was kind of surprised to hear something from the red head. He had been quiet most of this ordeal anyways. Strange.
“Aw, you’ll give up that quickly. I only just pricked you. No fun.” Toga said with a small pout before putting her knives away. As disappointing as it was for her to stop her chase, she was relieved that her new little pet would so willingly run into her arms.
“Only if you free my friends. If you don’t, I’ll have to fight you and believe me, I’ll win.” Deku said, pointing a finger at himself. Just against Toga and this other guy, he could definitely win. He’s seen them fight enough to know their styles. Sure, it wouldn’t be easy, but he had confidence in his abilities now. Thanks to the training that UA had put him through, he definitely had the strength.
But
If it meant that his friends would be freed…he would gladly give himself up. It’s what a true hero would do.
Toga thought about this, bobbing her head from side to side as she entertained this idea. Sure, she could probably fight her best, but she had never seen her little green bean jump around as fast as he was right now. But, what would that mean for his little friends? Where would they go? Surely to some pro heroes who were always so bent on getting them behind bars. But, jail was so goddamn boring.
An evil smile spread across her face.
~
Todoroki sent his ice wall at the monsters in front of him. It broke through both the wall of the dorm and the wall of nomus. A few stumbled aside and he managed to catch one in an actual ice trap. He also set ice across the ground, giving Shoji a clear icy path to where they needed to place the mattress. Without hesitating, Shoji pushed himself across the ice and towards the spot they had agreed upon. As he did, several Nomus reached out and swiped at him. Todoroki used both sides of his body to fend them away from Shoji.
Even Mineta was helping. Well, as much as he could. He yelled as he tossed his purple balls at anything that happened to move.
Which also happened to include Todoroki himself. One of the purple balls stuck right in front of his foot and he lost his balance. Rather ungracefully, Todoroki crashed to the ground. He slid to a stop in front of another nomu, which proceeded to pick him up by his shirt.
“Sorry!” Mineta yelled, the top of his head already beginning to bleed. He didn’t stop throwing his balls everywhere he could. Some bounced harmlessly off the ground while others hit Nomus and made them stick to the place they were already standing.
“Now, Shoji!” Todoroki yelled as the heavy arms wrapped around him. The crushing weight was enough to push the air from his lungs.
Shoji tossed the mattress onto the ground before getting caught himself. Two different nomus grabbed him, tackling him to the ground.
Tsuyu had assured him that she would be able to get Iida to a specific part on the ground because of her perfect aim with her tongue. Todoroki just hoped that this was true. Though he did have a few back up plans, this was the one that he found the most promising.
Iida dropped onto the mattress. The nomus all turned to look at what had just happened. Not soon enough, however, as Iida began running in the direction of the school as soon as he got his balance.
“We’re coming, guys. Hang in there,” Todoroki muttered breathlessly.
~
“Have you ever wondered what it would be like if everyone was as powerful as we are?” Dabi wondered, getting comfortable on a nearby chair. He tossed his legs up, resting his feet on a table. He lazily bounced around a blue ball of flame between his fingers. “If these so-called heroes were held to the same standards as what they call villains.”
Bakugo ventured a few steps from where he had been standing. Dabi didn’t seem to mind his moving. Slowly, Bakugo began to look at his surroundings, looking for any way to escape.
“We’re just trying to keep these shit heads accountable. They all try and tell everyone that we’re the bad guys when we’re just trying to show the flaws in the heroes as a whole.” Dabi said with a wave of his hand. “They will claim that we’re in the wrong when we’re just taking you on a short ride around the city. They’re the ones who are holding you and your class hostage in that shit building they’re calling your dorms. They’re the ones who willingly send you back to shit homes at the end of the day.”
Bakugo looked over at Dabi curiously. He didn’t think that a villain like this would be this concerned about living arrangements. Dabi noticed his look.
“I’m just saying. If they were anything like what a school should be, they would have had a real talk with some parents already. I mean, some of these kids don’t exactly want to go home, right? Listen, fireball, if you stick with us, you won’t have to worry about your ma wailing on you all the time. That ain’t what parents are supposed to do.” Dabi said.
Just for a moment…a tiny moment…Bakugo considered it. After everything he had been through in the hero course, getting muzzled, getting told he was a monster, being put through hell trying to train for some dream he had come up with as a kid. He was still a kid, damn it.
“We’re back! Thank you for the escort!” Toga said as she bounced into the building. Bakugo tensed as she sauntered in. Tailing behind her was the rest of the villainous crew…and that damn nerd Deku.
“You were stupid enough to get yourself kidnapped, Deku?” Bakugo barked at his friend. Midoriya looked a little sheepish, but shrugged. He seemed too nervous for a rebuttal. It was weird to see him this nervous ever. Sure, he was a little bit of a crybaby at times, but this was different. His usual hopeful look was completely gone.
“What took you so long?” Shigaraki asked, scratching at his neck as he did so. He seemed anxious to leave.
“I wanted to have some fun with my new pet.” Toga whined before leaning over and giving Deku a huge kiss on the cheek. Deku huffed in disgust and rubbed at his cheek to get rid of the spit she had left over. Gross. He made his way over to Bakugo, standing near him.
“How are you holding up, Kacchan?” Deku asked, looking his friend up and down for any kind of wounds. When there didn’t appear to be any, a small relieved smile played on his lips.
“I’m fine, idiot. What about the others? Did they take you too?” Bakugo asked, nudging his friend in the side. Deku’s smile became strained and he rubbed the back of his head in embarrassment.
“Uh…well…not exactly. I kind of…followed them.” Deku said with a nervous chuckle. Bakugo smacked him on the back of the head.
“You idiot! Now we’re both stuck here.” Bakugo huffed with a roll of his eyes. How the hell were they supposed to get out of this now? Not that he had been placing all of his hope on Deku, but this definitely wasn’t good.
“It’s alright. I left a clue or two for the authorities to find so that they could get to us faster.” Deku said with a small nod. Bakugo grit his teeth. Hopefully, they would be found in time.
“Let’s hurry up and get out of here before some–” Shigaraki said before the wall behind him blew up.
There, standing amongst the rubble, were pro heroes ready to free the students captured by the league of villains.
They were saved. Thanks to the hard work of their fellow students and the clues that Deku had dropped along the way during his transit, the pro heroes were able to quickly track down where the students were being held. Uraraka and Kirishima were also able to follow along, despite Toga’s best efforts to tickle them both too crazy to even think about following them.

So there was this thread I wanted to write since I saw bnha288 leaks, and I told myself I wouldn't get back to social media until I finished writing it...
Turns out I'm really really slow at writing, and could manage just to get half of it done 💔
Anyway, I thought it'd be better to post half of it than nothing, since the chapter will come out this week anyway 😅
So here's the half I got done, I hope you like it 🤗
I can't talk enough about how much I loved bnha288. Not just because it gave us some badass Ochako moments we've been waiting since this arc began, and the fact that part of it is her rematch with Toga Himiko is absolutely perfect, but also how this very fight can help develop how Uraraka sees hero society and, more importantly, how this will develop her character even more.
But first, let's discuss what might happen on #bnha289:
IMO there are basically three ways this fight is gonna go down:
• Someone is gonna interrupt them;
• Toga wins;
• Ochako wins.
First of all, I do not like the first one. This is the rematch most of us have been waiting for the most (yes, more than a Deku x Bakugou rematch). It's their moment, with no one to be in their way.
About the last two, first thing to say is that I had a feeling that Mr Compress' marble was totally a chekhov's gun as soon as I saw it, and I'm completely sure that the winner is gonna use it to capture the loser.
Now the second one (Toga wins) is... complicated, to say the least.
Someone might say "I wanna Toga to capture Ochako so she'll have another great rescue arc like Bakugou had". Well... yes, but actually no.
You see, the LOV captured Bakugou for a very specific reason. They wanted that very arrogant and explosive boy, with in their eyes very much potential to become a villian, to turn sides an joint them. But that wasn't what happened. In fact, that arc, and his spare against Midoriya that came after that just how much he wants to be a hero, despite of this very flawed personality.
That rescuing arc not only showed us how the other characters felt about that, but most importantly it showed us how Bakugou really is: he will never become a villian. He had always been a power hunger person, always aiming for being stronger, but he wants to do it all while being a hero. He's not willing to change sides just for power.
Now getting back to Ochako, I ask you: if she lost and was captured by Toga, what would this tell us about both of them?
First, it'd establish that Toga is a sadistic sociopath that wants to keep Ochako for herself because she's obsessed with her. And, well, we already know that. And if that happened, I don't believe Toga would tell the LOV she has Ochako literally in her hands, becuase unlike what happened with Bakugou, they have no intention on turning Ochako to their side, and Toga knows that keeping a hero as a hostage just for fun would cause trouble to the League. I'd be a rather meaningless capture, just to traumatise Ochako to hating Toga and the LOV even more.
Second, it'd establish that Ochako is weak and unskilled, wich is not true. Ochako has been a hero in training for almost a year, and Toga is just a regular girl that joined the LOV few months ago. And think about it: On their first fight, even when Toga was pinned down, she was able to destabilize Ochako just buy calling out her crush and telling her they were alike. Now at the very last page of chapter 288 we have the exact opposite thing happening: Toga is pinning Ochako down, and Ochako's is completly ignoring what Toga is saying so she can focus on her mission. Wouldn't it be very disappointing if Ochako lost again, showing us that she didn't actually made that much progress in her physical, mental and emotional skills since their last fight?
Now I think it's gonna be way more interesting if Ochako wins. Because despite defeating the villain, she won't feel happy nor proud about it. Instead, she might feel confused, wondering if the hero's side is in fact the "good side" of this war.
No, this is not a "Ochako becomes a traitor" theory. She still wants to be a hero, she still wants to go to UA, but now something is bothering her.
That's how I picture chapter 289 in my head:
They're gonna fight, and it's gonna be so badass.
Toga will get to hurt Ochako, scratching her face, her arm or something, but then Ochako manages to steal away Toga's knife and pin her down. Toga is totally trapped, there's nothing more she can do, and Ochako is holding that knife, pointing it at her...
Toga: so, heroine... Are you going to kill me? Are you going to kill me, just like you "heros" did with Jin?
Ochako: Jin? Who's Jin?
Toga: See??? You don't even know his name! So he wasn't a real person to you, right? So you could save him too? Why did you have to kill him!?
Ochako is devastated. She knows they are the villains, she knows they are just getting what they deserve. But here is Toga... not just that random villian that had attacked her, but a girl like her, a girl just her age, crying over the death of a dear friend...
Toga: You call us the villains, but you are even worse!
Toga is very good at disguising her self for deceiving others, just like she did with her a very few minutes ago. She needs to be great at acting and lying to succeed. But right now... Ochako knows she's not faking it. She's genuinely sad.
Ochako: No... I'm not gonna kill you...
She drops the knife in the ground beside them and reveals she has a tiny shiny green ball in her hands.
Ochako: But I can't let you go either.
She then uses that marble to trap Toga.
Ochako watches the girl vanishing in front of her eyes in mere seconds.
"Toga-chan... I'm... I'm sorry... I can't save you right now..." Ochako can see a very little version of Toga inside the marble. She hugs it with her hands and cries quietly.
She spends very few seconds crying. She knows she must get back to their mission. Ochako puts it in her uniform and... her pocket is already filled with something.
Oh, right, that little All Might keychain she was gifted on their Christmass party.
She looks at both of them: the keychain in one hand and the marble in the other one. The hero and the villain, the good and the evil...
Ochako is way too confused right now. But she cannot think about all of that right now. She wipes away her tears and run back to Tsuyu. End of the chapter.
I know I'm probably wrong on my headcanons because I'm not a good writer like Horikoshi is, and I know he and his team already wrote a very great chapter, that I'm for sure gonna love and brag about. But, even so, I do really like this headcanon of mine.
What's the core of Ochako's character? She wants to be a hero because she always wanted to help people. She's also happy and lively girl that likes to cheer everyone up, especially their friends.
We can see how she and Iida literally adopted little introverted Izuku and they became a best friends trio. We see she also became Tsuyu best friend, a girl that's also a little reserved.
At first, she wanted to be a hero basically for the job. And yet, not just for the money, but for helping her parents to have a easier life.
She also realised that helping people also includes not getting in anyones way. She thought a relationship would only disturb hers and Deku's focus on being heroes. So she ignored her crush on him, while using these same feelings as a thrust to keeping moving forward.
(and even if my shipper side felt sad when I first watched this, I have to admit this was a great mature decision of her, and the story wouldn't be as good as it is if she had confessed to him that time. It's great that Kohei is giving time for both their relationship and for their character development)
On the Overhaul arc, right after Sir. Night Eye died in her hands, her motivation developed to "I want to help people" to "I want to save people". Now she was 100% sure about what kind of hero she wanted to be: she wanted to be a rescue hero.
When she saved Deku from Black Whip, she asked herself: "of heroes save others, than who's gonna save them when they need it?". This is a very important moment, because while we know who she's talking about right now, she is still subconsciously thinking furtherly: "who's gonna save the people we usually forget to save?"
And now we're watching her making probably one of the most important steps of her development: "Who's gonna save the villains? If we are heroes, why are we killing them, defeating them, when they're just humans like us that need to be saved?"
Ochako is not the traitor and she never will be. She's still mad at Toga and at the villains. She knows that this danm war is their fault. She just wants it to end as soon as possible, and to everyone to be safe and sound. She's sure that the villains side is the worst thing ever, just as bad as it ever could be. But the point is: why isn't the heroes side as good and perfect as it should be?
----------------------------------------------------------
I wanted to make a part two talking about how Ochako will eventually help Izuku realize that the hero society is not as perfect as he think it is, and how this would be great character development for him. Maybe I'll finish writing it someday 😆😌
Thank you so much for reading this tread. I really hope you like it. Please feel free to comment sharing your opinions on what you agree and disagree about all of this, I'm highly open for your reviews on my thoughts 💗

so for right now, it seems like everyone is in agreement that we’re getting into the endgame of bnha here in the manga
and! we still don’t know who the traitor is. huh. fancy that
so I’m going to do an exceedingly long look at each character of class a and give them each a rating on how likely they are to be the traitor based on a few criteria
First, the criteria:
Ability: Meaning, would they have been able to get information to the LOV about the Hero Classes and what they were doing. Also, there are some things where all or nearly all of the characters have the “ability” to do something in a certain situation (like the press break in- we didn’t really see anyone except for Izuku, Uraraka, and Iida, so anyone else could have been anywhere; or giving the location of the training camp, because it could have been anyone given the timing). In those situations, I’ll only point out outliers.
Behavior: I’m looking at behavior of the character rather than a specific “motive” because given that so much is “unknown” we can’t really assume someone is a traitor just because they could possibly have a good motive- after all, who knows, maybe All for One is blackmailing whoever the traitor is, and in that case, it could really be just about anyone. So, looking at behavior instead is analyzing “Would this character say these things and act this way if they had knowledge that they were giving information to the LOV?”
Story Impact: Of course dramatic tension isn’t the #1 reason to decide someone is a traitor, but the impact it has on the story is very important. If this were a real world scenario, it wouldn’t be, but given that this is a story meant to entertain, why would it bother with a traitor if said traitor wasn’t someone that would generate a reaction at the reveal? So while Story Impact alone can’t decide “yep this is the traitor” I do believe it should be included as a factor
Now, as for why I’m only looking at Class A, rather than expanding out to Class B and beyond; partially it has to do with the Story Impact point, because if it was someone from another class it would have much less of a dramatic weight, and also because Class A is usually the center of attention including in these villain attacks- basically, it would make more sense that it’s someone from Class A, because they’re able to give information on Class A specifically
I’ll be doing my best to give this an unbiased look, and no hard feelings if a character that happens to be your favorite gets a higher or lower score than you would have thought. This is still just my opinion, and I’m open to discussion on certain characters and topics if you have anything you’d like to add or anything you think is off.
For the most part with Ability to give info to the LOV, the last mention is the Kamino Raid Arc, because that’s the last time that it’s really been the LOV specifically versus Class A. The LOV did work with Overhaul, yes, but they weren’t really “buddy buddy” and I’m not sure how much information from the traitor would have helped. If there’s something I’m missing here, I would appreciate it if someone pointed it out to me so I could look into it further.
In addition, “This character was shown to be attacked during [x LOV attack]” won’t be included because that can be said for pretty much any character, and so we’ll operate under the idea that it’s POSSIBLE that for the first few attacks only All for One was aware of and working with the traitor, and therefor the LOV wouldn’t know not to attack them.
On to the analysis
Aoyama Yuuga
Ability: It is a bit suspicious that the story makes a point of not telling us where Aoyama was during the USJ attack, but that could just be a part of foreshadowing that plays into Aoyama’s development during the License Exam where he’s found hiding and is then talked into taking stand and helping his class. We know that during the Training Camp attack, he was hiding for a good majority of the time. It could be said that the fact that he was able to stay hidden suggests some kind of foresight or knowledge, but that’s a really shaky argument that I don’t find very convincing. Overall for Ability: 5 out of 10. You could look at the actions and twist them to your narrative, but it’s not really anything concrete.
Behavior: This section is really what helps contradict a lot of the points above, actually. In the USJ, why would Aoyama specifically go around asking “do you know where I was?” only to go “it’s a secret!” if he really is the traitor? It wouldn’t make sense for him to distinguish himself like that. Then in the Training Camp, Aoyama helped at the last second to knock the marbles away from Compress (which gave the others the chance to at least save Tokoyami from being captured). Why would he have done that if he were working with the LOV? Down the line, there are his interactions with Izuku where he acts strangely, but I really think it was more like Aoyama was trying to find common ground with him and just being awkward than anything overly suspicious. Overall for Behavior: 1 out of 10. If the stuff with his quirk really is a cover to make him less suspicious, then damn does it work, because I buy it. Unless if he WANTS to be caught, or WANTS to sabotage the LOV (pointing himself out in the USJ and helping during the Training Camp respectively). But otherwise, the behavior doesn’t match up.
Story Impact: (Unfortunately, because I like him,) Aoyama hasn’t been very present in the story; he’s clearly one of the more “”background”” characters, even if he’s a bit closer to the foreground than some others. However! Recently he has been getting closer to Izuku, and he does have a very loud personality even if he’s not always present in important plot related events. Overall for Story Impact: 7 out of 10. It wouldn’t be the most impactful of reveals, but I feel like it would get a reaction out of people.
Aoyama’s Chances of Being the Traitor: 13 out of 30. Pretty low, there’s a chance but I really don’t think it’d be him. There’s been too much bait and switch, and his character development helps to explain the things that have been happening with him, and I don’t think the story would throw in being a traitor on top.
Ashido Mina
Ability: Ashido was one of the people who avoided being teleported by Kurogiri in the initial USJ attack- perhaps foresight of what was coming helped her avoid being warped. During the Training Camp, Ashido was also safely indoors for the majority of the attack, with only Twice’s copies of Dabi to worry about (Aizawa dealt with that easily enough by himself). Overall for Ability: 7 out of 10. While obviously this by itself isn’t enough to say that she is, for sure, the traitor, it could be combined with other evidence to say that there is something there.
Behavior: Ashido is another loud personality of Class A, but we know little to nothing about her backstory- what we do know only comes from flashbacks of Kirishima’s past. She hasn’t had an arc focus on her, and we don’t know her internal thoughts or drives. So basically- we know very little about her personal life, and we haven’t seen her go through any development. Could this be hiding something? Or is there somehow a future plot point featuring her and her backstory that we haven’t come to yet? It should also be pointed out that Ashido was not part of the group that rescued Bakugou, even though she’s one of his friends and she doesn’t seem like the type to be overly concerned with the “we don’t have our hero licenses yet”. However, it would be wrong of me to not point out that during the USJ, Ashido did cry tears of joy when All Might showed up, seemingly relieved that he was there to save them, which would be strange if she were in fact the traitor. Overall for Behavior: 6 out of 10. Again, there’s nothing concrete, but the groundwork is there.
Story Impact: As I said, Ashido is another one of the loud personalities of Class A. She’s never had an arc dedicated to her, but everyone knows her, you know? While she’s never been the focus, she’s been present a lot. And she’s a likable character too. Overall for Story Impact: 7 out of 10. Again, like Aoyama, it wouldn’t be the most impactful, but it WOULD be a big deal.
Ashido’s Chances of Being the Traitor: 20 out of 30. A lot of it is circumstantial evidence, so it’s not the most concrete, but you have to admit that it’s a possibility. It could just be a case of the author neglecting to give her deeper characterization and in this case it just happens to look more suspicious, though. Overall I wouldn’t say I’m completely sold, but I wouldn’t write it off and say she’s for sure not the traitor.
Asui Tsuyu
Ability: Nothing really sticks out in the USJ, nor in the Training Camp attack. In the Kamino Raid Arc, she does directly disapprove of helping Bakugou, however if she were the traitor surely she would have told the LOV about the student’s plan. Overall for Ability 2 out of 10. Yeah I guess it’s still possible for her to be working with the LOV by rule of the factors where it could be any of Class A, but there’s nothing about her that makes her any more suspicious than anyone else.
Behavior: I did mention just above that she disapproved of helping Bakugou, but looking at her reasoning, that makes it unlikely for her to be the traitor. She didn’t want them to go because doing that kind of thing without a Hero License is against the law- and when Class A moves into the dorms afterwards, Asui is shown to feel bad about what she said to them about helping Bakugou. Would the traitor feel the need to go out of their way to apologize? I suppose it’s possible that there’s mixed feelings, a gray morality, and maybe Asui just didn’t want them to get hurt, but that’s an assumption based on the fact that we don’t have any real fact. Overall for Behavior: 3 out of 10. Again, I guess it’s possible and really it would depend on what the motive ends up being, and it depends on how willing the traitor actually is, but that’s really not enough to say it’s anything substantial.
Story Impact: Asui is one of Izuku’s friends who’s been there since almost the beginning, and she’s a very good friend of Uraraka. However, in recent arcs we haven’t really had anything that really emphasizes this friendship. Outside of story, we know that people do LOVE Asui though. Overall for Story Impact: 8 out of 10. It would be more impactful than some of the other Class A students who are less relevant, and it would certainly garner audience heartbreak, but the story would need to emphasize her friendship with Izuku (or Uraraka) more than it does currently when leading up to the reveal for it to be Peak(TM) heartwrenching drama.
Asui’s Chances of Being the Traitor: 13 out of 30. Another “I guess it’s possible”, but with her character as it currently stands, it doesn’t make the most sense.
Iida Tenya
Ability: Iida is literally one of the only characters that we KNOW couldn’t have done anything during the press break in. In the USJ, Iida is the one who ran for help and got All Might to show up and basically solved the situation in a way, which really makes it seem unlikely. He did have that “dark” turn in the Hero Killer Stain arc, but that makes it even less likely than more likely because even though Shigaraki didn’t like Stain, Stain was still working with them. In the Training Camp he was helping other students get to safety. In the Kamino Raid arc, he went with the group to save Bakugou and kept them from making reckless decisions that would have gotten them hurt. Overall for Ability: 1 out of 10. If I was doing negatives in this ranking scale, it would be negative. Iida is so unlikely. I am only here because the point is doing Every Character.
Behavior: He’s like a big brother that wants to keep everyone safe. He feels responsible for Class A because he’s their Class Rep. He disagreed with the saving Bakugou mission but only because he didn’t want them to make the same mistake he did, and eventually he agreed to go with them to keep them safe. Overall for Behavior: 1 out of 10. There’s no Iida is the traitor.
Story Impact: Would Izuku be heartbroken by this? Yes. Would a lot of fans be heartbroken? Yes. But looking at all the other things on the list, this is really one of those “it came out of nowhere and was bullshit” kind of twists if it did hypothetically happen, so really it would be a bad idea. Overall for Story Impact: 1 out of 10. It would ruin so much.
Iida’s Chances of Being the Traitor: 3 out of 30. This is literally the lowest score you could get. I think this is the one of the only characters that I can say, for 100% sure, is not the traitor. There’s just no way. By all accounts it doesn’t make sense.
Uraraka Ochako
Ability: We know she couldn’t have done anything during the press break in, like Iida. During the USJ, she was one of the people who avoided being warped away by Kurogiri, like Ashido; however this was because she was saved by Iida and not any kind of ahead-planning. During the training camp she aided in helping Izuku and a group of others go after Mr Compress to get Bakugou and Tokoyami back. She did directly disagree with the group that went to save Bakugou during the Kamino Raid arc, but again if she is the traitor it’s not something that she told the LOV about which is strange. Overall for Ability: 1 out of 10. Really doesn’t seem likely, looking at this.
Behavior: She is one of the Class A characters that we know isn’t a hero for the sake of being a hero or the “selflessness” of it. She wants to be a hero for money, specifically money to help her family that’s not very well off. Of course that doesn’t mean she has to be the traitor or that she’s selfish, but what it does mean is that she cares a lot about her family, and we know this. Could be blackmail? Not concrete but worth considering. Toga does make a comparison between herself and Uraraka, commenting that the two of them are alike. For the main female character, she really hasn’t had any kind of deep focus on her since the Sports Festival- most of it is just “uwu girl crush” stuff, which is disappointing, but like with Ashido- who knows! Maybe it’s hiding something. Overall for Behavior: 4 out of 10. You could make a case for it, but nothing concrete.
Story Impact: Maybe I’m biased because I used to really really like the Traitor Uraraka headcanon, but oh my god that would be so heartwrenchingly good. The Drama(TM) of it. If it was played right, I think it could be done well. And the reason it’s different with Uraraka from Iida is that you CAN make a case that it’s possible that she is the traitor but either isn’t willing or is morally gray to where she cares about people from Class A and tries to keep them safe. Iida, on the other hand, does more to actively destroy the LOV’s plans, and I can’t really buy the “unwilling traitor” because the only good blackmail would be threatening his family which is... made up of heroes. Even with Tensei after being attacked by Stain, that’s after the USJ so he couldn’t have been the traitor from the start. I don’t know. Again, maybe I’m biased, but I feel like if it were played right, traitor Uraraka just might be able to come through. Overall for Story Impact: 10 out of 10 if done well, but 1 out of 10 if done poorly. I think if the story is able to pull it off in a morally gray way and treats it like a complex situation it could work, but if the twist is a “well the traitor is just secretly evil and has been evil the whole time :)” then that’s just blegh and doesn’t make sense.
Uraraka’s Chances of Being the Traitor: 15 out of 30. I could see it going either way. Imagine it if she was the traitor? Wow, that would be something huh. But at the same time, yeah, I recognize that there are a few things that don’t make sense, and if those end up left unexplained then traitor Uraraka wouldn’t be that great. Maybe she really has just been bogged down to “love interest girl :)” and I’m just trying to cling to the idea that maybe just maybe she could have a complex narrative that treats her like a person.
Ojirou Mashirao
Ability: This really sucks to say but, there’s not really. Enough of him being around to make him particularly a standout either for or against in either the USJ or Training Camp attack. He was solo in the USJ, yeah, but does that tell us that he was able to be solo because he’s got more intel than we know, or is it a “no way he’s the traitor because it was so hard for him”? Really up to interpretation. Overall for Ability: 5 out of 10. It could go either way but we just don’t KNOW enough.
Behavior: Again, there’s not anything during a LOV attack to go off of, BUT. In the Sports Festival, Ojirou is the one who dropped out of the tournament round because he only passed the Cavalry Battle because Shinsou had brainwashed him and so he felt he hadn’t “earned” it. There was no prompt for him to do this, no one asked him to, he just did. Would a traitor have given up the spot so honorably? It could also be argued that maybe he did it to stay out of the spotlight and that he’s been staying on the down low this whole time, and he “honorable” thing was an act, but... mm I don’t know, again that’s just speculation. Overall for Behavior: 4 out of 10. Again yeah I guess it’s possible if you twist it right, but there are lots of “it’s possible if you twist it right” and we just don’t know enough about Ojirou.
Story Impact: Ojirou is someone who really doesn’t have much interaction with the story or plot. He’s kinda there, occasionally he’s in conversation, but I feel like about half of his lines are just student filler that could be replaced with anyone. I’m sorry, it sounds mean to say that because I know people like him, but the story just doesn’t give him any attention. Overall for Story Impact: 5 out of 10. Any Class A student would have at least somewhat of an impact on the fact that “but they were our CLASSMATE” but for Ojirou there’s no connection to the “main” main characters that would make it particularly dramatic.
Ojirou’s Chances of Being the Traitor: 14 out of 30. I feel like the one way it could work is if it really leans into the whole “I was staying on the down low this whole time, keeping myself from attracting attention, so that no one would notice it was me”, but even then I feel like there are other characters that could do it better and Ojirou just doesn’t seem very likely.
Kaminari Denki
Ability: In the USJ Aizawa asked Kaminari to see if he could use his quirk to get through the barrier or contact the school, and it was a bit of throwaway dialogue that was never brought back in. That could mean anything really- maybe it was a bit of throwaway dialogue, maybe the fact that Kaminari (clearly, because the school was never contacted directly, and Iida had to go) wasn’t able to do it is suspicious, maybe his quirk just incapable of that, who knows! Who knows. In the Training Camp attack, Kaminari was safely inside, like how I mentioned Ashido earlier. Overall for Ability: 6 out of 10. I don’t know, maybe there’s something there, but I gave him a bit of a lower score than Ashido because Kurogiri did warp him.
Behavior: I guess I’m just gonna keep bringing up Ashido, because Kaminari and Ashido have a lot in common and are a comedic pair on occasion. Anyway, with Ashido I mentioned that she’s got a loud personality but that we never get let in to see what’s going on with her personal life or inner circle. Kaminari is much the same way, because even though there was a brief something in the License Exam, he’s had no focus either. And considering that I just did Ojirou, I know it seems strange to bring up that he doesn’t have anything as something that’s more suspicious for him than it was for Ojirou, but the reason it is more suspicious is that he’s kept very present. It’s like, the story wants you to keep him in mind, but hasn’t properly utilized him or given him an arc yet. Also, when it comes to villain attacks, he acts cowardly (even if he does help eventually). Would he really be so afraid if he were the traitor, or is it an act to avoid suspicion? Overall for Behavior: 6 out of 10. It’s a lot of “perspective” stuff where maybe it COULD make sense, but it’s just speculative.
Story Impact: I’m probably gonna end up with the same score as Ashido here, for the same reasons. Kaminari has a big presence, so even though he hasn’t had much of a “focus” people like him. He’s a part of the Bakugou friend group, so we know that would be dramatic for them, looking at it from a purely in story drama view. Overall for Story Impact: 7 out of 10. It’d make waves, but more like “really windy day” waves, not TIDAL waves.
Kaminari’s Chances of Being the Traitor: 19 out of 30. His situation is, as I’ve said, a lot like Ashido’s, where people really know him and he’s a favorite, but (as far as I’m remembering, if I’m missing an entire arc in my brain then tell me) he hasn’t had a real FOCUS on him in any story arc. Ah yes, the age old question: is this character just not developed at all, or are they hiding something?
Kirishima Eijirou
Ability: Directly tried to attack Kurogiri at the USJ, alongside Bakugou. Even after clearing the villains that were in the area he was in, he (and Bakugou) went to help Aizawa who was fighting villains at the center of the USJ. In the Training Camp he’s safe inside just like Kaminari and Ashido, but in the Kamino Raid arc he seems to feel genuinely guilty that he wasn’t there to help Bakugou and is the one who gathers the rescue team to go help him. Overall for Ability: 1 out of 10. Not as unlikely as Iida, but pretty damn unlikely.
Behavior: We know from his backstory that his drive is to become a courageous hero, we know that he wants to grow and stop being afraid. Unless you REALLY somehow twist that there’s no way that’s traitor material. He’s a rowdy boy, but he’s a rowdy boy with a good heart. Overall for Behavior: 1 out of 10. As unlikely as Iida on this one.
Story Impact: On this one it feels like a crossroads between Traitor Iida and Traitor Uraraka. Like, maybe if it’s done right it could be really good and impactful, but mostly it feels like if it did happen it would be a twist that’s just for shock and it would harm more than help the story. Overall for Story Impact: 1 out of 10. I just don’t see it happening. With his backstory especially, it doesn’t make sense.
Kirishima’s Chances of Being the Traitor: 3 out of 30, another lowest score. If it happens, I’ll eat my left shoe. If it happens and is then used as “Bakugou character development” or whatever that somehow makes him be like “I’m good now!” but then he still doesn’t change his behavior just like every other time, I’ll throw up my left shoe and then eat it again.
Kouda Kouji
Ability: There is nothing for this in canon. We don’t even SEE him in the Training Camp attack, I think. Kouda deserves better. I guess you could say his quirk could help him gather info, but that’s about it. Overall for Ability: 6 out of 10. The 6 rating is mostly for his quirk but otherwise we don’t know anything about him so we can’t say whether it goes either way.
Behavior: Same ^ Overall for Ability: 5 out of 10.
Story Impact: I guess you could go with the same reasoning as Ojirou (”I stayed on the down low on purpose, ho ha ha”) but with Kouda I think it’s still less likely because at least Ojirou has lines, meanwhile Kouda is a very quiet character. That’s not to say that makes him less likable, just less noticeable, by the cast and by the audience. Overall for Story Impact: 4 out of 10. Like I said, no matter what Class A character it is there’s gonna be the whole “but you were our CLASSMATE” drama, but with Kouda it’s one of the least dramatic reveals because, sadly, there’s just nothing there. Character arc for Kouda WHEN?
Kouda’s Chances of Being the Traitor: 14 out of 30. Only that high because we literally just Don’t Know. Kouda I’m sorry.
Satou Rikidou
Ability: Another one with a huge lack of information. We know he was safe during the Training Camp attack, but it’s like... hardly anything to go on. Hey Horikoshi, give us more about the other characters except for a 193334th arc featuring Bakugou, please. Overall for Ability: 5.5 out of 10. I guess because of the safe during Training Camp thing, but in this case that’s really not much at all.
Overall for Behavior: 5 out of 10.
Overall for Story Impact: 5 out of 10.
Satou’s Chances of Being the Traitor: 15 out of 30. I didn’t really write anything because I didn’t want to be too repetitive, but man I just feel sorry for the characters that don’t get any spotlight, this is just sad.
Shouji Mezo
Ability: Shouji was one of the nonwarped students in the USJ, but he helped restrain Kurogiri so that Iida would be able to run for help. In the Training Camp attack, he helped rescue Tokoyami. These actions directly oppose the LOV. An argument could be made that his quirk would give him an advantage with spying and gathering information, but I feel like there’s more evidence against him being the traitor than for it. Overall for Ability: 1. He’s kind of “not around a lot adjacent” where he’s in between the characters who are loud and present but have nothing of substance, and the characters that are very much so just “background”. But from what there is, I feel like it’s unlikely.
Behavior: Again, he helped rescue Tokoyami during the Training Camp attack. Why would he do that if he were the traitor? I suppose an argument could be made that maybe it was just because there were other students around watching who could be judging, but that’s not solid. Overall for Behavior: 2. Because I considered the counter argument just a little, but don’t find it very convincing.
Story Impact: I guess it could go for the angle where it’s like “he’s like the LOV because he has a mutation quirk, and there are members of the villains like Spinner who were othered for having mutation quirks!” But mmmm nah. I really think Shouji is just kind of stoic but on the inside is good and helpful (shown by pretty much every scene he’s in if you actually pay attention). Overall for Story Impact: 4 out of 10. Again, any Class A person will have SOME impact, but with Shouji I feel like it would just feel meh because it’s like, of course you made the scary looking guy the traitor, right?
Shouji’s Chances of Being the Traitor: 7 out of 30. I mean, I wouldn’t say he’s less likely than others like Kouda or Ojirou, but with Kouda and Ojirou there’s just so much uncertaintly, meanwhile Shouji’s character traits that are there all point to “Nah.”
Jirou Kyouka
Ability: Nothing strikes out as anything specific during the USJ, but it is worth pointing out that she was one of the only two Class A students to be hit with Mustard’s poisonous gas and therefor was missing from the discussion about going after Bakugou, which would explain why the LOV didn’t know it was going to happen if we were to believe that she’s the traitor. In addition, her quirk would help her gather information by letting her listen in on things that perhaps she’s not meant to hear. Overall for Ability: 7.5 out of 10. Nothing overly suspicious, but you this stuff is worth taking into account.
Behavior: During the USJ attack, she DID try to talk down a villain that was threatening Kaminari’s life. She’s also one of the few characters who we have insight into their backstory, and we see that same pure “just yearning to be a hero” from her. Overall for Behavior: 1 out of 10. I wouldn’t say it’s impossible for her to be the traitor, but the way she acts doesn’t really match up.
Story Impact: She’s not really one of the characters considered a “main” main character, but she’s certainly one of the ones that gets more focus. People are attached to her as a character. That being said, again, with the way her character stuff has been set up unless there’s some key info we’re missing out on, it would probably be one of the “this just comes out of nowhere” twist. Overall for Story Impact: 5 out of 10. I don’t think it would be nearly as bad as some others, like Iida or Kirishima, but it still feels like the twist would be a bit lacking.
Jirou’s Chances of Being the Traitor: 13.5 out of 30. You could argue she has the ability to be the traitor, but for the most part what we’ve seen of her character so far doesn’t match up with the idea that she IS the traitor.
Sero Hanta
Ability: During the USJ, he was one of the people to not be warped away, but he also directly helped restrain Kurogiri so that Iida could run for help. In the Training Camp attack he was one of the people in the main building. Overall for Ability: 4 out of 10. I wouldn’t rule it out but it seems unlikely.
Behavior: I don’t know. Nothing really sticks out? He’s a lot like Kaminari and Ashido where he’s got a loud personality but hasn’t had any deep dive into his character, but at the same time he feels like... just a level under Kaminari and Ashido, if you know what I mean. Like, yes he is loud and gathers attention, but to a relatively less degree than them. One thing that could be worth pointing out is that he’s frequently looked down upon- in the Sports Festival even before his “fight” with Todoroki, when Present Mic was introducing him if I remember correctly he made some kind of comment about Sero being “unremarkable” (I could have remembered that wrong). And then Todoroki did beat him rather quickly. There’s the first training after everyone comes back from internships, and even though Sero “won” he was still somewhat overshadowed by Izuku and his learning to use Full Cowl. In the exams arc, he didn’t pass even though his partner did. I’m not saying that all this about him being looked down upon means that he HAS to have some kind of a grudge, but it is a possibility worth noting down. Overall for Behavior: 7 out of 10. Mostly for the same reasons I gave for Kaminari and Ashido being likely; the whole “there, but not really”. I wouldn’t put stake on the “inferiority” idea towards either proving or disproving it.
Story Impact: I feel like if it went for the “everyone looked down on me” angle it might be cool, but I’m not entirely sold. That’d have to be a “surprise! [The traitor] was really evil all along and was faking” kind of traitor twist, and I’m not really a fan of that idea because I just DON’T believe that anyone in Class A could be “evil” even if they end up being the traitor. Overall for Story Impact: 6 out of 10. He’s a loud personality but he’s not as included in the story as some others, and so it wouldn’t be as dramatic as someone we know better. It would still be dramatic, sure, but it wouldn’t be Peak Drama(TM).
Sero’s Chances of Being the Traitor: 17 out of 30. More likely than some others, I suppose, but I wouldn’t say he’s the most likely.
Tokoyami Fumikage
Ability: During the USJ, the area he was warped to was some kind of storm simulation. That could go either way as a piece of evidence, depending on how you twist it, either “for” because it would make Dark Shadow stronger or “against” because it would make Dark Shadow harder to control. During the Training Camp attack, Dark Shadow lost control and had to be weakened by Bakugou and Todoroki. Tokoyami was also the person who was nearly captured by the LOV alongside Bakugou. That’s another piece of evidence that could go either way depending on how you interpret it; you could say that “the fact that they bothered capturing him makes him disqualified as the traitor because if he WAS they wouldn’t bother taking him” (though I did acknowledge at the start that it’s possible the LOV didn’t know who the traitor was or that there even was one, and that the traitor was attached to just All for One) or you could say “interesting that Tokoyami was singled out here”. Overall for Ability: 5 out of 10. It’s very back and forth; you could interpret it either way to make whatever case you want.
Behavior: He does act dark and brooding a lot. But that’s just like, how “stereotypical” is the story gonna go with the whole traitor situation? Is it gonna go for one of the more obvious people who seem “darker”? Or would it go for someone that would be cheery specifically to catch readers off guard? Seemingly, more flip flopping. Is Tokoyami’s learning to control Dark Shadow a metaphor for how there is a darker side of him he’s trying not to let out (like say, being the traitor), or is it just a showcase of how he’s truly a good person despite his quirk? Overall for Behavior: 5 out of 10. There are lots of characters who have been getting fives because it could go either way, but Tokoyami is the first one where it doesn’t feel like it’s because of a lack of information. I mean, don’t get me wrong, there still IS a lack of information; we don’t know anything about Tokoyami’s background. Which does leave things open. But it still feels like it really could be nothing.
Story Impact: I’d say that in terms of relevance he’s about at the same level as Sero. Definitely not one of the more left out background characters, but he doesn’t have a “loud” personality that makes him stick out, and he’s not always made important in the big group arc showcases. Overall for Story Impact: 6.5 out of 10. A bit higher than Sero because there is the connection to Izuku that was made during the Sports Festival. That being said, similar to how I feel like Sero would be a cheap traitor if the story went for the “they looked down on me” angle, I feel like Tokoyami would be a bit cheap as a traitor because he’s already brooding and dark, you know?
Tokoyami’s Chances of Being the Traitor: 16.5 out of 30. It’s certainly possible, but much like everything else, I could see it going either way. Personally, I really like the idea that he’s got a “dark” power but still wants to do good and is striving to be a hero and to gain control over Dark Shadow so that he can help people.
Todoroki Shouto
Ability: During the USJ he froze the entire section of villains he was warped to, threatened them for information about their plans, and then as soon as he gathered enough his first move was heading to the center and freezing the Nomu. These actions directly go against the LOV. In the Training Camp attack, he directly helped rescue Tokoyami and NEARLY rescued Bakugou before Dabi got to the marble first. In the Kamino Raid arc, he was one of the people who helped PLAN to go save Bakugou. Overall for Ability: 1 out of 10. Lmao no. Literally as unlikely as Iida, if not more unlikely.
Behavior: Like, maybe you could argue that Pre-Sports-Festival-Todoroki could possibly be roped into working for the LOV with the promise that they’re taking out hero society, but like, that LOV motive didn’t really become “a thing” until after Stain, and after Stain was after Todoroki already went through his character arc and started living for himself rather than living for spiting Endeavor. Overall for Behavior: 1 out of 10. There’s just no way. Not happening.
Story Impact: He’s TOO close to the center, if you know what I mean. We know far too much about him, if he was somehow the traitor, we would KNOW by now because of how present is and how much of his background we already know. Like, yeah I guess it would be devastating to the characters around, but that’s another “subverting expectations for the sake of doing it rather than actual story quality” twist. Overall for Story Impact: 1 out of 10. It would be so bad.
Todoroki’s Chances of Being the Traitor: 3 out of 30. Another “no way in hell”. We already have Dabi (if the Dabi is Touya theory is correct). Todoroki as the traitor just makes zero sense.
Hagakure Toru
Ability: She claims that she was warped to the same zone as Todoroki in the USJ, but did not make any attempt to make him aware of this until after the fact; when she says she was in his area, Todoroki has a “Wow she should have told me what if I accidentally froze her” moment. Seems very ambiguous for whether or not she was actually there, because she’s invisible. People have pointed out before that she’s missing in a panel during the Training Camp before the attack, where the view is just showing where all of Class A is, but I don’t really think that’s too “big”; it doesn’t mean she had to have been getting information to the LOV because TEXTING exists and literally all the character’s have phones, and they clearly weren’t banned because Izuku had his on him (it was broken when he went to save Kouta from Muscular). Like Jirou, she was the only other member of Class A who was in the hospital because of Mustard’s gas, and therefore was not present to hear of the plan to rescue Bakugou. Her quirk could potential be beneficial to collecting information, as she might be able to sneak into places undetected. Overall for Ability: 8 out of 10. She is a bit suspicious, but I don’t think this is anything that completely confirms that she 100% has to be the traitor. It’s a bunch of various things added up, and that makes it seem bigger, but it’s possible that all of these individual things mean nothing.
Behavior: If she were the traitor, it would be good for her to be as unnoticeable as possible, which fits well considering her quirk; however, in panels where characters are just chatting, she’s repeatedly talked about wishing she could stand out more and trying to stand out more. Maybe it’s just a cover to blend in more, because despite saying this she doesn’t “stand out” stand out much, but it’s still a bit odd. There’s only so much reverse psychology-ing you can do on this. It has also been pointed out that she was the one who suggested the class outing to the mall, where Shigaraki confronted Izuku before the Training Camp arc, but I don’t feel like that argument holds much water; we saw Shigaraki leave the LOV bar because he was upset, and he never said where he was going to, so it’s not like this could have been pre-planned. Overall for Behavior: 3 out of 10. I don’t know, maybe you could twist it to suspicious if you tried, but I really don’t think it fits.
Story Impact: Really, it depends on how the story tells it. Perhaps it could really explain the reasoning behind all her decisions. But I feel like we don’t see enough of Hagakure for it to be as impactful as it could be. Also, it would be a “you see this sunshine who you thought was really nice? Well, she’s the traitor, lol” which, if not handled in a good way, could come across as bland. Overall for Story Impact: 6 out of 10. Even if the story does her motives well, and doesn’t have it as a “shocking just to be shocking” she’s just Not That Present in the story. The impact would probably be a bit lacking.
Hagakure’s Chances of Being the Traitor: 17 out of 30. I know there are some people who are really a fan of this theory, and I can understand that because if you look at her ability to be the traitor and the chances she has and all of the individual moments, you could twist it that way, and it does seem a bit suspicious. But otherwise, I don’t think the twist would hold much weight. It almost seems like a “safe” option? It does seem possible though.
Bakugou Katsuki
The. The league literally captured him and said “quit your school and join our emo band” and he was like “lol no villains are losers”. I won’t say he has the best reasons for being a hero (given that he just wants to “win” like All Might and be strong), but he’s not the traitor or a villain. We know too much of his backstory too. He does too much to stop the LOV too.
I’m just gonna go ahead and give this a 3 out of 30 we already know it ain’t him, I’m not wasting time thinking about it. Yes I know I did for Iida and Todoroki and Kirishima but the difference is I like them and that I couldn’t care less about Bakuogu.
Midoriya Izuku
God can you imagine. The story has been lying to us this whole time.
Mineta Minoru
Ugh I’m tired of this section already let’s get it over with
Ability: Nothing in the USJ, in the exams he was the only half of his team to pass so we know he didn’t purposely sabotage himself so he’d be safe in the Training Camp attack. Overall for Ability: 3 out of 10. Unfortunately.
Behavior: He’s gross and abhorrent, but not in the kind of “suspiciously villainous” kind of way. Overall for Behavior: 2 out of 10. We know what’s going on with him and we wish we didn’t.
Story Impact: Well it would certainly make some people happy because they could hate him and see him get beat, and he’s definitely been one of the just to the left of front and center character who’s been very annoyingly present at all times, but it feels cheap because we should be able to hate him and expel him for the horrible thing’s he’s already got going on. Overall for Story Impact: 4 out of 10. I hate this ugly grape boy. He gives “grape” a bad name.
Mineta’s Chances of Being the Traitor: 0 out of 10. Horikoshi’s not gonna make his pervy self insert be the traitor.
Yaoyorozu Momo
Ability: Helped fight during the USJ like everyone else, so there’s nothing special there. In the Training Camp attack she’s the one who attached a tracker to the Nomu to lead the heroes to the LOV’s base, and she also helped lead the Bakugou Rescue Squad (to keep them out of trouble, like Iida), and clearly didn’t land them into a trap. Overall for Ability: 1 out of 10. She’s the real lawful good.
Behavior: Looking at the above, she’s been doing so much to help her fellow hero students. It really doesn’t feel like she has any ulterior motives. Overall for Behavior: 1 out of 10. She just wants to help people. She is a good and powerful girl.
Story Impact: It would be a surprise, but it wouldn’t feel at all earned. Overall for Story Impact: 3 out of 10. She’s liked enough it would matter, but again it wouldn’t feel earned. But at the same time she’s not present enough that it would be COMPLETELY awful. Only mostly awful.
Yaoyorozu’s Chances of Being the Traitor: 5 out of 30. Really doesn’t seem like she would be the traitor. I severely doubt it.
FINAL SCORES AND RANKINGS
So, going from most to least likely,
Ashido Mina at 20
Kaminari Denki at 19
Hagakure Toru and Sero Hanta at 17
Tokoyami Fumikage at 16.5
Uraraka Ochako and Satou Rikidou at 15
Ojirou Mashirao and Kouda Kouji at 14
Jirou Kyouka at 13.5
Asui Tsuyu and Aoyama Yuuga at 13
Shouji Mezo at 7
Yaoyorozu Momo at 5
“No Way In Hell Club” Todoroki Shouto, Izuku Midoriya, Iida Tenya, Kirishima Eijirou, Bakugou Katsuki, and unfortunately Mineta Minoru, all at 3
Note that being higher ranked doesn’t necessarily mean that I say they HAVE to be the traitor, just that I would find it more believable.
Again, please note that if you feel I’ve left something out, I in fact welcome people to point out things I’m missing!
But for now these are my Traitor Thoughts(TM). They might change if we hear more about a concrete motive, but as we don’t have one, this is all I got.
If there’s anyone still reading (which I doubt ahsjdkfljaskd this post is so long) thanks for sticking around for so long! This took a while to write, so I would really appreciate a reblog

The Chicken Nugget AU
Since @the-bag-of-holding asked for the synopsis of my favourite and most fleshed out semi-crack au, I’ve decided to make a post dedicated to the explanation. If you’re not into BNHA you probably won’t be too interested so I’m sorry about that... Also if you are into it but haven’t read the manga/watched the full anime there might be some spoilers. Also this is gonna be a Long post.
Anyways, this AU was spawned from the multitude of weird BNHA theories I’ve made, specifically the Toga Incidents, a series of theories centred around Toga, I’ll be referencing a few of them in this, if anybody actually wants I’ve been thinking about posting some of my theories on here so I might do that.
Basically, the first difference from cannon is that Toga joins the LoV around the start of the school year, which is much earlier than in cannon. I’m also replacing the Bad Grape with the better porble boi because yes. Anyways, skip to USJ, and because Toga’s in the LoV she participates in the attack, in which she forms most of the ‘bonds’ she would have formed at the Training Camp such as her ‘crush’ on Izu and her ‘friendship’ with Tsu and Uraraka.
In this AU there isn’t a UA Traitor, instead, after USJ when they sweep the security system for bugs they actually find one, which was how the LoV was getting intel. After getting rid of it and slightly boosting their security, although still wary, they calm down a lot, believing that now that the bug is gone they should be safe from further information leaks. Although due to said info leaks they are worried about the personal info of the students possibly being leaked, which leads them to build the dorms (again, way earlier than cannon). All of these things lead them to a sort of false sense of security. The kids are also much more shaken up after the attack, some being left with some form of trauma. Because of this, they seek ways to calm down/overcome it, such as seeing a therapist or taking time off.
Cut back to the LoV, they are upset over losing the bug. Meanwhile, Toga’s out and about and finds a cat. This is where two of the Toga Theories come in: 1) Toga can transform into animals just as she can humans 2) The blood from Twice’s clones are a functional replacement for the blood of the original (Fun Fact: This was actually basically confirmed in the recent chapters when Twice clones Toga to give her blood) So Toga walks in with a cat and the new plan is made.
Basically, they keep the og cat, and whenever they need blood they make a clone and take it’s blood, AKA infinite supply without hurting the actual cat because I’m soft. Toga can now become a cat for however long she wants.
Toga cat goes around and ends up being picked up by one of the 1-A kids (All according to keikaku), probably by Izu/Shinsou. They take the ‘poor stray’ back to the dorms and all the kids immediately adore her, so they convince Aizawa and Iida to keep her by reasoning that having an ‘Emotional support animal’ would help them with their traumas. And because of the fact that they are less worried in this AU Aizawa eventually accepts (And because he actually doesn’t mind the idea of having a cat around).
The name of the AU comes from what the kids end up naming Cat Toga, because the first thing Denki thought of was ‘Chicken Nugget’. Chicken Nugget (Toga) is not amused. Since she’s basically a cat in a human body anyways nobody is suspicious of the way she acts. It becomes cat shenanigans by day, with her constantly scratching Izu and causing havoc, to villain stuff by night, with her relaying information, collecting blood, and restocking her own supply. Having Toga as the infiltrator means that she can not only collect intel, but also blood, as nobody notices an extra scratch or two amongst all the ones gathered from training and Chicken Nugget herself. The kids allow her to roam at night outdoor cat style, meaning that nobody bats an eye at her coming and going from the UA campus, and her stealth skills allow her to evade being caught or noticed.
Although I have many ideas for other plot points and endings, this is what I’ve got properly fleshed out at this point, and I don’t wanna make this any longer than it already is.
Last but not least, some old drawings of Chicken Nugget.

Betrayal Chapter 4
I...I’m so sorry to anyone that had been following me for this fanfic that I haven’t updated in two years.
I finally gained back the motivation to write this, so here we go.
Get ready for angst lol.

-Bakugou Katsuki -
Something was definitely up with Kirishima, Katsuki thinks as he's getting on the bullet train to Nara with the rest of his class.
Ever since that night with the villains, it feels like he's different. Like there's something he isn't telling him.
It better not be that he's worried or whatever about him. Just because Katsuki has been targeted by villains a couple times, doesn't mean he's someone that needs protecting. He doesn't need Kirishima worrying about something so dumb. Bakugou Katsuki is strong. Strong enough to take care of himself.
But... Kirishima should know that already. He'd never admit it to him, but Katsuki does consider Kirishima a friend. He's probably the closest person to him that Katsuki has.
So if, it isn't worry for him, what is it?
"Bakugou? Hey Bakugou! Stop spacing out, we're almost there!" Kirishima says from across him, pointing out of his window.
"What are you even excited about, we didn't even plan anything for this trip." Sero points out. How Katsuki got stuck with these losers is beyond him. Kirishima maybe attempted a few times to get them on track, but with Sero and Kaminari talking about too many different things and Mineta whining about the girls he's gonna meet, they got nothing done. Katsuki has a few places in mind that they could go but their whole group is really just going with the flow.
"Come on Sero! The last time we were on a school trip we got stuck in extra classes and then a villain attacked so we didn't get to enjoy it. This time we'll have a lot more fun!" Kaminari grins.
"Hey, don't jinx us! With how often the League of Villains attacks us, I wouldn't be surprised if they follow us here too." Ashido says, sitting up from the seat behind Kirishima.
"Aww come on you guys." Uraraka says from the seats next to Katsuki's group. "Let's be optimistic about this! This trip will be a completely normal school thing."
"But it wouldn't be the first time that the league has attacked us while we were doing normal stuff. We were all doing that test of courage when the villains attacked us. And there was also the time you guys went to the mall and they attacked Midoriya." Asui points out.
"However, Aizawa-sensei told us that this was supposed to act as a break for us after all the attacks that happened. U.A could have taken extra measures to make sure that there's little chance of a villain attack during the trip." Yaoyorozu says. Katsuki almost agrees with her.
He can't help but feel like this trip has some other motive to it. U.A is supposed to be training them to be heroes, not to let them mess around like this. Having a trip out of nowhere when they should be getting their provisional licenses feels off somehow.
"That is true! I think that we as a class should try to have fun but keep our guard up as well, just in case!" Iida says, and the conversation ends there as they arrive in Nara.
.
.
.
-Kirishima Eijirou-
Eijirou feels uneasy. He can't help it.
He's known Kaminari for long enough to know that he's planning something during this trip. At least, Eijirou feels something coming. But he knows that this trip is probably to seek out who's been leaking information to the Leauge. Each class going to a different place in Japan for a school trip with no hero training? What else could be going on other than the teachers finally putting their plan to find the traitor out in motion?
Kaminari isn't dumb. He can figure out what's going on if Eijirou can.
Hopefully, that means that he won't do anything during the trip. If he did, the teachers could catch him easily if they planned to expose the traitor. Maybe Eijirou is dumb enough to risk getting killed by All for One, but Kaminari isn't. He won't risk everything just because he's pissed at Eijirou.
"Mineta. For once in your goddamn life can you not be an absolute perv? Please. Just for a few minutes. I can't deal with any more girls glaring at me just because you said something stupid." Kaminari's voice cuts through Eijirou's thoughts. He glances up in time to notice two girls glaring at Mineta, Kaminari, and Sero as they're quickly walking away. Looking to his side, he can see that Bakugou is annoyed by them, trembling with anger with his eyes closed.
"Can you idiots just settle on a place already?! I'm not going to waste my fucking time wandering around watching you like some kind of baby-sitter."
"Aww, Bakugou! Don't rob all the fun out of this! It's about the journey, not the destination you know."
"Not when the 'journey' involves you dumbasses spending the whole time flirting." Sero sighs.
"You know he's right. Aizawa-sensei may have said this was supposed to be a break, but I guess we should also see everything Nara has to offer. Why don't we try and find some deer?"
"Yeah! I was looking forward to petting them! Nara's known for all the deer wandering around, so I'm surprised we haven't run into any yet." Kirishima says, choosing to ignore that uneasy feeling for now. He can focus on enjoying this trip since it's probably the last time he'll get to spend with his classmates before he confesses everything to the teachers.
He ignores that thought too.
They start heading to Nara Park (which is a small challenge considering they're all terrible at directions), and once they arrive they immediately see all the deer. Two come right up to Kirishima and Bakugou, and wow it's really cute. He looks over at Bakugou, who seems to have no idea what to do, holding his hands out in front of him like the deer might attack him. Eijirou laughs. Bakugou flushes and glares at him.
"What?"
"You look like you have no idea what to do. Just pet the deer Bakugou, it's what they want." Bakugou turns back to the deer and puts his hand on it's head. The look Bakugou has on his face is both hilarious and really adorable. He's not smiling, but his expression still gives off a look of happiness.
"Hey, Kirishima! Bakugou!" Yaoyorozu's voice calls out to him. Kirishima and Bakugou turn to where her voice came from and notice that her group is gathered in Nara Park too. It makes sense, considering Kouda probably wanted to talk with the deer. Eijirou notices he and Jirou near a group of them.
"Hey, Yaoyorozu! I didn't think we'd run into anyone while we were out exploring." Kirishima says, walking toward her.
"Yeah, me neither. But Kouda wanted to talk with the deer and Jirou and I both wanted to feed and pet them so this was one of the thing on our list. We've already been in some of the shrines, what about you guys?" Kirishima laughs.
"Yeah, our group isn't getting much done. We were mostly goofing off while we were supposed to be planning so we're kinda winging it."
"Well, Aizawa-sensei did they this was a break for us. It's a good thing we aren't required to go to any specific places and make a project out of it."
"If we did, Bakugou would end up killing us and finishing the project by himself. Me, Sero, and Kaminari have no idea what we want to do and Mineta doesn't really have any sights on his mind." He says, looking at him as he tries talking to girls. Yaoyorozu looks as if she's holding back a face palm.
"Yeah, I can see how Bakugou would have the desire to commit murder. With or without a project due." She turns away from Mineta and smiles at him. "But I bet you guys are having a lot of fun. During the last school trip you had to take extra classes and miss out on the fun. Even if that fun was short-lived."
"Yeah, I really like this! It's nice not to be so stressed about exams or hero licenses." He says, and it's not a complete lie. He's not stressed about any of those things, but only because it won't matter when they go back home.
Yaoyorozu opens her mouth to say something, but isn't able to due to a huge bolt of lightning coming down. It hits the ground with a huge boom, sending people away and to the ground due to the impact.
No. No no no. Nononononono.
Eijirou picks himself up to see Kurogiri warping himself, Shigaraki, and a few noumu. He can't believe what he's seeing. Why? Why would Kaminari plan an attack on them during a trip with only their class? He can't be dumb enough to think it would work.
Shigaraki releases the noumu, and they begin attacking the people surrounding the park. In the chaos that begins, Kirishima notices Kaminari, sparks of lightning around him, grinning, looking directly at him. Kirishima's teeth grind together. He has no idea what to do, this wasn't how it was supposed to go. What is he-
"Kirishima...Is that...Is that Kaminari?" Yaoyorozu asks him, her hands rising to cover her mouth in disbelief as she stands up. He can only give her a pained look, not being able to say a word. He can't say anything. This whole thing has caught him too off guard.
Stupid. Why didn't you just trust your gut when it told you something was off. You should've known something like this was going to happen. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid!
"You...Bastard...!" Bakugou's voice slices through his thoughts. "It was you? This whole time, you were the one selling us out to the villains?!"
"Yep! Aren't you surprised? The guy you made friends with turns out to be a traitor. I wasn't actually planning on revealing anything for a long time, but..." He makes eye contact with Eijirou. "Something came up."
"SHUT UP!" Bakugou screams, and Kirishima can hear the hurt in his voice. "Some stupid bastard who sells me out to villains is no friend of mine." He lunges at Karminari, explosions ready but Kirishima knows it won't be enough.
"BAKUGOU WAIT!" He yells, running toward them but it's too late. Kaminari releases a bolt of lightning from his hands, stunning Bakugou and sending him to the ground in front of him.
"D-Dammit..." Yaoyorozu, Jirou, Tokoyami, and Shouji activate their quirks and prepare themselves to fight. Sero looks a bit hesitant, but ready to tape Kaminari up too. Kouda attempts to calm the deer, but is unsuccessful so far. Kaminari notices and grins before releasing a huge shock, temporarily paralyzing them all. Kirishima manages to harden himself to avoid too much of a shock, but he still ends up taking some damage.
"How is he able to release so much power...? He should be-"
"I should be acting brain dead now right? Guess I forgot to mention that I made all that crap up. I'm actually pretty strong if you couldn't tell."
"Ka-Kaminari. Why are you doing this? We were friends, weren't we? Snap out-"
"SHUT UP! HE WASN'T!" Bakugou stops Sero from talking any more. "He's been with the villains the whole time, he was never your friend. All he wanted was your trust so he could easily leak information to the villains. Stop thinking of him like that! He's a manipulative, lying bastard!" Bakugou trembles with anger, struggling to beat the stun from Kaminari's attack. Eijirou can see the rest of his classmates doing the same. He knows that he should be fighting Kaminari right now, he's the only one that can move after all. But his head his spinning. He can't think straight at all. This wasn't how it was supposed to happen.
"Oh? Would you say the same of Kirishima, Bakugou?"
.
.
.
-Bakugou Katsuki-
He's frozen. He stops struggling to get up and instead tries to focus on Kaminari's words.
Would you say the same of Kirishima?
He can't. Kirishima isn't a traitor. He's not.
Are you sure about that? You didn't know that Kaminari was a traitor, did you?
But Kirishima saved him from the villains! How can he be with the League of Villains if he messes with their plans like that? Bakugou can't doubt Kirishima like this. Kaminari is only saying that to mess with his head.
"Shut the hell up! You're lying!" Kaminari crouches down to get closer to him.
"Am I? Why don't you ask Kirishima yourself." Bakugou is able to turn enough to see Kirishima's face. His eyes widen.
Why? Why does Kirishima look like that? Why is he looking at Bakugou like that?
"Kirishima?" His voice says unconsciously. Kirishima's eyes go to the ground.
No.
"Well, Kirishima? Are you gonna deny my statement?"
No. No.
"Well, then. I'll be on my way. I really just wanted to cause a little chaos, so my work here is done. The next time we meet may be the last, so I'll see you then Class 1-A." He walks through Kurogiri's portal with Shigaraki and disappears. Kirishima still hasn't said anything.
The shock wears off for them. Sero rushes to Kirishima, grabbing his shoulders.
"Kirishima! What he said...It's not true, right? You aren't with them right?"
"Yeah! If he was, the villains would've taken him too!" Yaoyorozu adds.
"...I was."
No. No. No.
"What?"
"I was with the villains." No. Please no. "They recruited me and Kaminari to infiltate U.A and give them information on it."
"YOU BASTARD!" Bakugou's scream pierces the air, clearly ringing throughout the park. Kirishima's head finally rises to meet Katsuki's eyes.
"Bakugou I-"
"SHUT THE HELL UP! HOW DARE YOU." Bekugou feels his eyes watering, but he isn't going to shed tears for this bastard. He isn't. "I trusted you and you were pretending the whole time?! What, was saving me from villains just a test to see if I trusted you enough so you could pull this off?" He gestures to the chaos around them. The noumu are still running around, but Bakugou only sees a blurry Kirishima.
"It-It wasn't! I actually-"
"I SAID SHUT UP! I trusted you and you betrayed me! You betrayed me!" Katsuki can't stop the tears from spilling out. "To think I...I actually considered you a friend. But I guess that was stupid. You didn't think of it that way, you just thought of me as a target." He turns away. Kirishima doesn't deserve to see him vulnerable like this. He shouldn't get to see Bakugou so hurt by him.
"No! It wasn't like tha-"
"Just...Shut up." He starts walking away, Sero following, probably to make sure he's okay.
He's not.

RYAN’S KIRISHIMA TRAITOR THEORY
i’ve plastered it all over twitter, so might as well crosspost to tumblr since it seems some of y’all want to hear it!
DISCLAIMER: this is all meant in good fun. i know some people get super, super upset about traitor theories and while i actually do believe this is a viable path for bnha to take, i’m not trying to say my word is law or anything! if you dislike traitor theories, please stop reading and let me have my fun.
EVIDENCE I’VE SEEN IN MY REREAD (in no particular order)
so, to start where all the pieces clicked into place for me: the training camp. kiri was not caught up in the villain attack. which could be coincidence or very, very convenient, seeing as kiri and the villains might recognize each other and set off alarms in the heroes’ minds.
now to expand upon that: the kids who failed the end of term exam expected not to go to the lodge. who failed the practical and therefore the exam? you bet he did. easily could’ve been on purpose
also, with the addition of the light novels, we now know that kiri said his house wouldn’t be any good to go to to study. why’s that?? could be that his home gives him away as villain material
i don’t have the screencap now, but take a look at kiri’s face when aizawa tells them they’re all going to the lodge. it’s....strange. could be happy, could be dismayed
moving on, when they go shopping and shigaraki shows up, it was kirishima who suggested they all split up, allowing shigaraki to close in on midoriya and also keeping kirishima far from him
during the internship arc, kirishima chooses an agency focused on urban counter-villain tactics. very useful info to have if ur working with the villains that uh, live in the city
also sus: the night vision goggles he bought and acted like it was nothing. where’d he get the money from? i’d say his family but......
......oh, right, we know NOTHING about kirishima’s background. out of all the main characters, he’s the only one we know nothing about. we’ve seen shots of the mains’ family lives (midoriya, bakugou, todoroki, iida, uraraka) and even insight into side characters like jirou, tsuyu, kouda, and aoyama. but nothing for kiri, so important that he ‘had to be the one who calls out to bakugou’? interesting. to go back to my original point, im sure he could’ve easily gotten money from the villain alliance
finally, in the most recent chapter, it seems we’re about to get kiri arc (FINALLY) alongside the eight precepts of death/villain arc, and if that ain’t one HELL of a coincidence
okay, so that’s the “evidence” i’ve compiled thus far. but to make sense of it, i have my own headcanons and some sort-of possibilities to explain kiri’s behavior.
POSSIBILITIES
he’s keeping all this on the way, way down-low. to the point that even his family doesn’t know. that would mean there’s nothing amiss at the family visitation, but why he wouldn’t want to show bakugou into his house. very, very unlikely imo
family is in on it. i don’t know. we have nothing to support this, but i wouldn’t be especially surprised. again, the above issues are taken care of, and also gives kirishima some motivation. could be either of his own volition that he’s a traitor or family pressure.
mind control. not far-fetched, given shinsou’s quirk exists, but seems cheap. again, gets around the issue of family and motivation if he has no control of the information he gives away. really hoping this isn’t the case.
he’s being threatened. his family is being held hostage, etc. would explain why he rescues bakugou but still acts as a traitor. would also mean that he’s trying to work against them while giving them information.
and then, there’s my extremely unlikely, but very hopeful theory
MY THEORY
iiiiiii like to think all of kiri’s family is dead. i headcanon him with a big, loving family where he’s the eldest brother and has five younger siblings who adore him. i also hc all of them as dead
hori likes to play with heroes leading to villainy. shigaraki’s got some tragic past when his grandmother/possibly were all failed as heroes or by heroes. kouta’s parents were killed by a villain and he began to hate heroes and quirks. all might and midoriya constantly talk about the failings of heroes and who they weren’t able to save. so, i like to believe that kiri is a victim of similar circumstances
in my hc, his family were collateral in a fight between a hero and a villain. possibly that a hero failed to save them, but i don’t think he would blame them for that. but i could buy that a hero disregarded his dying family and turned him to villainy. more specifically, made him want to rip apart the system while becoming a better hero than the one who failed him. we never get to see his exact thoughts on stain, whose ideology would be similar, i think but we do get to see kaminari’s hmmmm
in any case, i think going to ua changes kirishima. i think he genuinely loves his classmates and especially, falls for bakugou. idrc if it’s romantic or not. bakugou has obviously had some major impact on him. so i could imagine kirishima agreeing to be the traitor as long as none of his friends, especially bakugou, get caught up in it.....
......which is exactly why shigaraki wouldn’t have told him the genesis unit were pursuing bakugou. hence the many, MANY panels given to kirishima’s anguish that bakugou was being targeted during the arc. especially right after mandalay sends out her message, there’s that very memorable shot of him looking upset...but is it worry or guilt that bakugou is getting caught up in villain business??
and that guilt could easily lead to him wanting to get out there and stop them, knowing they have the means, and then, finally, betraying the villain alliance to save bakugou. which is ultimately, what i see him doing. becoming good for the sake of the friend who means the most to him.
however, next arc will probably either scrap traitor kiri theory or confirm it, so keep your eyes peeled!!!!
finally.......before i go.............i also want to let it be known that my actual traitor theory is both a traitor kiri AND traitor kami theory. to quickly summarize a few points, bc i know there was a forum that talked about traitor kami in great detail:
called stain “cool” then only retracted his statement once midoriya pointed out iida (could easily have the same backstory i constructed for kirishima)
we don’t have any idea what the fuck his backstory is
someone was jamming communication/alarms/sensors/etc and it was never confirmed who. as kaminari had the power to communicate with ua, he could have easily been jamming it himself
it’s been suspected that he’s lying about his stupid mode
another failure of the end of term exam
another not caught up in the villain attack at the training camp
also split up during the shopping trip
in short, i think they’re both traitors, but they don’t know about each other. also not sure if kaminari will redeem himself as i’m sure kirishima will. thanks for listening, and happy theorizing!
