Top Three because I can't bear to not list all of them. They're all very close to my heart

1. Mimikyu - When I was real young and trying to make my own Pokemon region like every Pokemon fan has, do NOT lie to me... a lot of my Fakemon ideas didn't really land, but one that stuck with me was a ghost Pokemon that was just straight up a Halloween ghost costume. A blanket with a smiley face on it named Nowyoo. It would then evolve into a patchwork quilt ghost, with each patch having its own face, named Seemee. The final evolution was a ghostly rabbit wearing the aforementioned quilt as a cape and a top hat made of pillows named Nowyoodont. Mimikyu reminds me of that idea so much and it executes upon it so well that I couldn't help it being my favorite Pokemon.

2. Piplup - Aside from Pikachu, this was the very first Pokemon that I was ever even aware of. One of my first video games was Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Darkness, and my first team was Pikachu and Piplup. Blue has always been my favorite color, and penguins have always been one of my favorite animals, so I just have a lot of fond memories looking at this silly lil guy and going :)

3. Snorlax - big fuckin Guy

A reminder that I still have no idea what I want to do with this project, but I swear I’m trying to figure it out!

Design history for revamped fakemon! Now stuff that’s had revamps (not everything is up yet, I still have more to dig up and add to the site) will show previous designs on the bottom of their respective pages, complete with brief discussion of why I made the changes I did!

I don’t really do April Fool’s stuff, but if you’re in the mood for a chuckle (or possibly an uncomfortable wince) I suggest you check out the earliest designs for kindelf, pyrobin and solberon. The funny part is that these designs are legitimately things I used to think were a good idea! I am the fool, it’s me.

(Seriously, though, to anyone who feels like their art isn’t good enough or that it’s too hard: look at what I used to do! Look at what I can do now! It’s not perfect, and nothing ever is, but it will get better with time. Don’t be discouraged and go make cool stuff!)

Or, for less cringe, you could always amuse yourself by rolling up some totally serious-sounding fakemon in the fakemon generator, which finally has USUM/LGPE/SwSh stuff included. I’m sure that

A Flying/Poison-type fakemon that is based on a tropical island. It is a large creature with a buzzing cry that has multiple pairs of wings, has a long neck and six eyes, and its primary color is blue. It lives in forests. Its abilities are Effect Spore and Water Bubble, and its moveset includes Steel Beam, Work Up and Teatime.

would make a lovely addition to anyone’s region!

Happy birthday, weird fakemon baby. You’ve come a long way in this past decade. If I’ve got anything to say about it, you’ll still be around for a long while yet.
