Author’s note: Heyyy 🤍 I was in the mood for fluff overload bc this week was a fever dream and soo much happened and none of it was good 😭 sooo here is a cutesy fic I wrote very quickly. Hope you’ll like it & don’t forget to tell me your thoughts! 🌸
——————————————————————————
Jude is, without a doubt, one of the most considerate people you’ve ever met. He doesn’t just listen — he hears you. He’s thoughtful, always taking your perspective into account, and when it comes to making decisions, your opinion carries an almost sacred value for him. But, and this is a big but, sometimes the man is as stubborn as a remote control that refuses to work until you smack it just right.
Enter today’s situation.
Your friend called you in desperation, asking for a huge favor. She and her partner were off to a wedding, and their regular babysitter had fallen through. Would you and Jude be able to babysit her 5 year old son, Ollie, for the entire day and night?
Now, Ollie is an adorable little boy, the kind who can charm anyone in seconds. You and Jude had spent plenty of time with him before, and you both adored him, but an entire day and night? That was an entirely different ballgame.
You couldn’t say no. How could you? Ruining your friend’s plans wasn’t an option, and besides, how bad could it be?
When you told Jude about the arrangement, he seemed oddly enthusiastic, flashing his trademark grin. Jude loved kids, and Ollie was no exception. But that’s where his stubborn streak kicked in.
Ollie, bless his heart, was a handful. Hyperactive, tireless, loud, and joyful in a way that only 5 year olds can be. A sweet little menace, in other words.
You had begged Jude to ask his mom or your mom to help out, just in case things got overwhelming. But Jude? Absolutely not. He flat-out refused.
“We’ve got this,” he said, as if the two of you were seasoned parents. “It’s one kid. How hard can it be?”
No matter how many times you tried to change his mind, he was dead set on the idea of having Ollie all to yourselves. And, eventually, you caved. It’s just one day, you reminded yourself. What could possibly go wrong?
As you rearranged the cushions on the couch for the hundredth time, anxiously waiting for Ollie to arrive, you threw out one last Hail Mary.
“We can still call your mom, you know? Her experience would be pretty useful right about now.”
Jude, cool as a cucumber, flashed you a grin. “Y/N, you’re worrying too much. We’re going to be fine.”
Fine, you thought, eyeing him like he’d lost his mind. Sure, taking care of a hyperactive five year old for 24 hours was no big deal — if you were, say, a superhero. But realizing you weren’t going to win this battle, you let out a resigned sigh and went back to fluffing pillows.
The doorbell rang, and your heart skipped a beat.
“Hi there!” you greeted Ollie once you opened the door with a wide smile as he launched himself at your knees, hugging them tight like you were his long-lost best friend. Your friend followed, looking both relieved and grateful as she set Ollie’s overnight bag on the floor.
“You guys are lifesavers. Seriously, thank you so much for watching him.” She placed a hand over her heart like she might cry with gratitude.
“No worries,” you said, giving Ollie’s fluffy hair a quick ruffle. “We’re going to have so much fun, right Ollie?”
Jude, standing tall behind you, added with a confident nod, “We promise he’ll still be in one piece when you get back.” You shot him a quick, anxious glance as your friend let out a nervous laugh.
“Just... try to keep him away from sugar before bed. He’ll get... well, crazier than usual.” She gave you instructions.
With a final hug for Ollie and another round of heartfelt thank-yous, your friend headed out the door, promising to keep her phone on 24/7, “just in case.”
You shut the door behind her and leaned against it for a moment, steeling yourself for what was to come.
When you returned to the living room, Jude and Ollie were already on the couch, flipping through kids' channels. Jude turned to you with a deadpan expression.
“Can a 5 year old watch Goodfellas?”
You burst out laughing but quickly realized from his face that he was, in fact, being serious. “No, Jude. Absolutely not. 90s movie about mobsters is not suitable for a kindergartener!”
Jude shrugged. “Worth a shot.”
The afternoon, thankfully, went off without too much drama — at first. Jude and Ollie settled on watching PAW Patrol for a solid 20 minutes before Jude, ever the athlete, decided to take Ollie outside to teach him a few football tricks.
It started off perfectly. They passed the ball back and forth, Ollie giggling with every kick. But then, ten minutes in, disaster struck. Ollie, in a burst of over-enthusiasm, kicked the ball with every ounce of strength his tiny body could muster... right into Jude’s crotch.
Jude dropped to the ground in agony, his face contorted in pain as he clutched himself. “I’m fine,” he managed to croak out, though you weren’t so sure.
Meanwhile, Ollie, oblivious to the catastrophe he’d just caused, ran around the backyard, laughing like a mini maniac. Football wasn’t distracting him — it was fueling him.
And that’s when you realized: this kid loved to run.
Like, really run.
He was a blur of energy, darting around the yard with Jude in hot pursuit, though Jude was limping slightly from the earlier injury.
You, on the other hand, could barely keep up. At some point, you dropped down onto the grass, panting for breath, your sides aching.
“How is he still going?” you wheezed, watching as Ollie raced around Jude, who had finally caught up and scooped the boy into his arms.
Ollie hung upside down, laughing hysterically as Jude spun him in circles. Despite the chaos, the sight of Jude with Ollie, both of them laughing and carefree, made your heart swell. Exhausted as you were, you couldn’t help but smile as you watched them. Jude, for all his stubbornness, was in his element, and seeing him like this, with a kid who adored him, was enough to make your heart race for a completely different reason.
After a solid hour of chasing the little whirlwind around the backyard, you finally managed to corral him back into the kitchen.
“Okay, buddy,” you said, leaning down to Ollie’s eye level, your tone hopeful. “How about a snack now?” Surely, after all the running he’d done, he’d be exhausted and ready to wind down.
“Yeah! Snack time!” he cheered, still bursting with energy as his little arms flailed in excitement. He darted into the kitchen like his life depended on it. You exchanged a look with Jude, who simply shook his head, a mix of admiration and disbelief on his face.
“How does he have this much energy?” you whispered, half to yourself. Ollie’s endless stamina was slightly terrifying but also ridiculously adorable. Jude, ever the optimist, scooped Ollie up and sat him on the kitchen counter.
“Alright, little man. What’s it gonna be? Cookies, fruit, or a sandwich?” Ollie tapped his chin in exaggerated thought, his face scrunching up like he was about to make the most critical decision of his young life.
“I want a peanut butter sandwich!” His eyes lit up, and just as you were about to reach for the bread, he added with the utmost seriousness, “But I want to make it myself.”
You and Jude exchanged another look, the same thought crossing your minds. This could either be the cutest bonding moment, or a disaster of epic proportions. Given Ollie’s track record for chaos, you were leaning toward the latter.
You hesitated, trying to find the words to suggest otherwise. “Are you sure we should—” Before you could finish, Ollie hopped off the counter and dragged a chair over, determined to prove his culinary genius.
His little legs struggled to climb up, but he managed with the confidence only a 5 year old could have. You and Jude watched in amusement as he grabbed the loaf of bread with two hands and tossed it onto the counter, a few slices falling to the floor in the process.
Jude discreetly reached for the peanut butter jar, loosening the lid before handing it to Ollie, so that he wouldn’t struggle with opening it.
“Alright, chef,” Jude said with a smirk, glancing at you.
“Let’s see what you’ve got.” Ollie stacked the slices of bread in a crooked pile, beaming like he’d just created a masterpiece.
“First, you need bread,” he said, his little voice full of authority. Jude chuckled, trying to stifle his laughter. “Looks… great.” Ollie then opened the jar of peanut butter with ease, thanks to Jude’s secret assistance, and proudly held up a butter knife that was far too big for his tiny hands.
With the precision of a wrecking ball, he began smearing peanut butter onto the bread — or rather, onto the counter, with a few globs landing on the bread by accident.
“It’s perfect!” Ollie announced, a glob of peanut butter now stuck to his cheek, completely unaware of the mess he was making.
Jude bent down to inspect the "masterpiece" with exaggerated seriousness.
“Wow, this looks like a real chef’s special. What do you think, babe? Should we open a restaurant?”
You snorted, crossing your arms. “Oh, absolutely.”
But Ollie wasn’t done yet.
“Wait! We need juice!” He hopped off the chair and sprinted to the fridge with the speed of a mini Olympic sprinter.
In his excitement, he grabbed a juice box, squeezing it so hard that juice sprayed everywhere — his shirt, the counter, and even Jude’s face.
“Whoops!” Ollie giggled, looking completely unfazed by the chaos.
“Whoops is right,” you muttered, grabbing a towel to clean up the sticky mess while Jude stood there, wiping juice from his face with a defeated look.
He shook his head, now fully laughing. “This is going great.” You tossed the towel at him, grinning.
“You’re cleaning this up, by the way.” You took Ollie’s sticky hand and led him off to change his shirt.
When you came back, the little boy proudly sat on the counter with his lopsided, half-smeared sandwich in hand.
“Here! Try it!” he demanded, shoving the sandwich toward Jude. “I made it special for you!”
He glanced at you with mock horror in his eyes, clearly torn between supporting Ollie’s culinary adventure and protecting his taste buds.
“Special, huh? Well, I’m honored,” Jude said, taking the smallest, most hesitant bite he could manage.
You watched, thoroughly amused.
“Go on,” you teased, eyes twinkling. “It’s a chef’s special.” Jude struggled to chew the sticky mess, his voice strained as he forced out, “Mmm... delicious.”
Ollie beamed with pride. “Told you! I’m a chef!” You burst out laughing, patting Jude on the back as he finally swallowed.
“You’re a brave man.”
“Anything for you, chef,” he grinned, leaning in to kiss you on the cheek, only for you to wipe a smudge of peanut butter from the corner of his lips.
The little boy, satisfied with his work, hopped off the counter and ran off to the living room, leaving the kitchen a sticky, peanut-butter-coated disaster.
You both stood there for a moment, surveying the damage. The counter was smeared with peanut butter, the floor stained with juice, and somehow, there was still a glob of peanut butter in Jude’s hair.
“This might’ve been a bad idea,” Jude sighed, tossing the towel over his shoulder, but the fond smile on his face told you otherwise. You nudged him playfully, wrapping your arms around his waist.
“Admit it, you’re having fun.”
He looked down at you, pressing a soft kiss to your forehead. “With you? Always.”
By the time bath time rolled around, you and Jude were already feeling the effects of a full day of babysitting. Ollie had run circles around the both of you, literally, and now it was time to tackle what could be the most unpredictable part of the night. You knew one thing for sure: getting a hyperactive five year old into a bath was going to be anything but peaceful.
Jude clapped his hands together. “Alright, little man, bath time!” he announced, flashing Ollie a wide smile. Ollie’s eyes widened like you’d just suggested the most absurd thing in the world.
“But I don’t need a bath! I’m not even dirty!” he protested, looking down at his dirt-streaked knees and peanut butter-stained shirt with a completely straight face.
You couldn’t help but laugh. “Oh, really? Because I’m pretty sure that peanut butter in your hair says otherwise.”
“No way,” Ollie argued, puffing out his chest. “Peanut butter is for eating, not for washing off!”
Jude knelt down to his level, trying his best to reason with the kid. “Come on, buddy, how about we make it fun? You can bring your toys, and we’ll have bubbles!”
“BUBBLES?!” Ollie’s eyes lit up like Christmas morning. “Okay! But I want a lot of bubbles!”
You grinned, grabbing the bubble bath solution from the cupboard. “Oh, don’t worry. We’ll give you more bubbles than you’ve ever seen.”
With that promise, Ollie finally agreed to the bath, darting up the stairs with the same boundless energy he’d had all day. You and Jude followed close behind, exchanging amused glances.
Once you reached the bathroom, Ollie was already busy picking out which toys were worthy of accompanying him into the tub. Jude turned on the water, adding a generous amount of bubble bath until the tub was practically overflowing with fluffy white bubbles. Ollie clapped his hands in glee, bouncing on his toes as he watched the bubbles multiply.
“It’s like a cloud!” Ollie exclaimed, throwing his hands up in the air.
“More like a bubble avalanche,” you said, watching the bubbles cascade over the edge of the tub.
Ollie started stripping off his clothes — his shirt getting stuck over his head, turning him into a giggling mess as he tried to wriggle free. Jude stepped in to help.
“Alright, into the tub you go,” Jude said, lifting Ollie up and plopping him into the sea of bubbles.
Within seconds, Ollie was completely submerged, only his head and a mountain of bubbles visible above the surface. He giggled as he started splashing around, sending bubbles and water flying in every direction.
“Ollie! Gentle with the splashing!” you warned, dodging a particularly large splash that just narrowly missed your face. Ollie grinned mischievously. He threw a handful of bubbles at Jude, who was standing just a bit too close. Jude wiped the bubbles off his face, grinning.
“Oh, you want to play it that way, huh?” He grabbed a cup from the counter and scooped up some of the bathwater, threatening to pour it on Ollie’s head. Ollie shrieked in delight, ducking beneath the bubbles as Jude pretended to chase him with the cup.
“You two are going to flood the bathroom!” you said, laughing as you grabbed a towel to try and catch some of the water splashing over the edge of the tub. It was no use — by now, half the bathroom floor was soaked.
“Gotcha!” Jude finally managed to pour the water over Ollie’s head, earning another round of giggles from the little boy.
But then Ollie went quiet, his eyes narrowing as he smirked up at you. “Y/N, now it’s your turn!”
Before you could react, Ollie launched a fistful of bubbles right at you, hitting you square in the chest. You gasped, trying to look stern, but you couldn’t hold back the laughter.
“Alright, that’s it. You’re in trouble now!” You scooped up a huge pile of bubbles and gently tossed them at Ollie, who squealed in delight as the fluffy foam covered his face. Jude watched with a grin, clearly enjoying every second of the chaos.
“I think we’ve lost control of the situation,” he joked, shaking his head as more water sloshed onto the floor.
“Oh, we definitely have,” you agreed, but honestly, you didn’t mind one bit. Ollie’s laughter was contagious, and seeing Jude play along, completely carefree and happy, made your heart swell.
After what felt like an hour of splashing, giggles, and what could only be described as a bubble war, you finally managed to get Ollie cleaned up. He sat in the tub, looking at you with wide, innocent eyes as if the last hour hadn’t been complete chaos.
“Okay, time to get out now,” you said, reaching for a towel.
“But I don’t wanna get out! The bubbles are still here!” Ollie protested, scooping up another handful of bubbles. Jude knelt down beside the tub, giving Ollie a smile.
“We can have more bubbles next time, buddy. But if you don’t get out now, we won’t have time for a bedtime story.” Ollie’s eyes widened again at the mention of a bedtime story.
“A story?! Okay, okay, I’m getting out!” he said, quickly standing up and letting you wrap him in the towel. As you dried him off, Jude stood back, admiring the aftermath of what could only be described as a hurricane of bubbles and water. He grinned, wrapping an arm around your shoulders. You smiled up at him, leaning into his embrace as Ollie, wrapped in his dinosaur towel, skipped out of the bathroom, still buzzing with excitement.
“You sure you’re still up for that story?” you called after him, watching as he practically ran toward the living room. Jude looked down at you, raising an eyebrow.
“What do you think? You ready for round two?” You sighed dramatically but couldn’t help the grin spreading across your face. “I’m always ready if you are.”
With Ollie freshly bathed and wrapped in his cozy pajamas, you and Jude settled him onto the couch for what was promised, a bedtime story. His boundless energy had finally started to fade, though his excitement for the story was still evident in his wide eyes and toothy grin.
“Alright, buddy. What story are we reading tonight?” you asked, sitting down on one side of the couch as Jude took the other. Ollie squirmed in the middle, his little legs kicking restlessly as he looked up at you both, clearly relishing the attention.
“The dragon one! The one with the big, scary dragon!” Ollie announced, bouncing a little as he said it. Jude grabbed the book from the table, flipping through the pages dramatically.
“Ah, the one with the scary dragon. I see you like living dangerously.”
Ollie’s eyes grew wide, and he giggled. “I’m not scared of anything! I’m a superhero, remember?” He flexed his tiny arms, making you and Jude chuckle, referring to the superhero game he had made you play with him earlier.
“Of course,” you said with a grin. “Now let’s see how you handle dragons.”
Jude opened the book and began reading in an exaggerated voice, using different accents for the characters, making Ollie giggle uncontrollably. Every time Jude mimicked the dragon’s deep, growly voice, Ollie would cover his mouth in awe, eyes wide, but clearly loving every second of it.
You couldn’t help but watch Jude in admiration. He was amazing with kids, and it made your heart swell seeing him like this; so gentle, so fun, so effortlessly caring.
You caught yourself thinking about what he’d be like as a dad, the thought sneaking into your mind and making you smile to yourself.
“And then,” Jude continued, building up to the story’s climax, “the brave knight faced the dragon, sword in hand, ready to protect his kingdom!” His voice was filled with drama, causing Ollie to sit up straighter, his eyes glued to Jude.
“Did the knight win?” Ollie whispered, completely engrossed in the story.
Jude winked at him, lowering his voice. “What do you think, champ? Do you think the knight was brave enough to win?” Ollie nodded vigorously.
“Yeah! He’s brave, just like me!” Jude smiled, continuing the story with a heroic flair.
“The knight swung his sword and with one mighty swoop, the dragon was defeated!” Ollie clapped his hands, grinning from ear to ear.
“I knew it! The knight is the best!”
As the story reached its happy conclusion, you noticed Ollie’s eyes starting to droop, his earlier excitement finally giving way to sleepiness. His little body leaned against Jude, snuggling into his side as his breathing slowed.
“Looks like the knight’s biggest battle is staying awake,” you whispered, chuckling softly.
Jude smiled down at Ollie, gently closing the book. “Yeah, I think our superhero’s finally ready to call it a night.”
With Ollie half asleep, Jude carefully lifted him in his arms, cradling him with the ease of someone who had done this a hundred times before.
You followed them to the guest room, watching as Jude tucked Ollie into the little bed, pulling the blanket up to his chin. The little boy stirred for a moment, mumbling something about dragons before he drifted off completely.
You stood at the door, your heart practically melting at the sight. Jude leaned down, brushing a gentle hand over Ollie’s head before pressing a soft kiss to his forehead.
As you tiptoed out of the room, closing the door behind you, the silence of the house settled in. For a moment, neither of you said anything, both still caught up in the sweetness of the scene you’d just left behind.
Finally, Jude broke the silence, a soft smile playing on his lips. “You know, I could get used to this.” You looked up at him, your heart skipping a beat.
“Used to what?” He shrugged casually, but there was something deeper in his eyes.
“This. You, me, taking care of a little one. It feels... nice.” Your chest tightened, warmth flooding through you at his words.
You leaned against the wall, trying to act nonchalant even though your heart was pounding. “You think?”
Jude nodded, his gaze soft and full of affection. “Yeah. I mean, don’t get me wrong, Ollie’s a handful, but... I don’t know. When it’s us, it doesn’t feel hard. It feels like... like we could do this one day. For real.” You felt a lump form in your throat, not from nerves, but from the overwhelming sweetness of the moment.
He wasn’t just talking about babysitting — he was talking about a future. A real future. And that thought made your heart feel so full it could burst.
You smiled up at him, your voice barely above a whisper. “You’d make a pretty great dad, you know.” He reached out, gently pulling you into his arms, wrapping you in a warm embrace.
“Only if I get to do it with you.” Your heart swelled, the simplicity and sincerity of his words filling you with a quiet kind of happiness.
You rested your head against his chest, listening to the steady beat of his heart. He pressed a kiss to the top of your head, his arms tightening around you.
In that moment, as the two of you stood there in the quiet, everything just felt right. You could see it so clearly. The future you’d both only ever hinted at, the one you were both starting to realize you wanted. And as you stood there in each other’s arms, you knew without a doubt that this was exactly where you were meant to be.

Enemies (Part Five) (Rafe Cameron)
Description: Based off Episode 10!
Word Count: 2,004
Author’s note: Whenever season 5 comes out is when I’ll continue this.
Part One Part Two Part Three Part Four
Y/N sat with her friends around the fire as they had hope that they would turn up to shore. Though Y/N wasn’t so sure. She saw the waves take them, How could they survive? She had been crying for so long that her eyes hurt and she needed sleep. She got up from the pogues and made her way to Rafe who sat by himself. He looked over at her as she came over.
She gave him a small smile they both knew was fake. He opened his arms and she collapsed in them. She groaned against his shirt as she was already falling asleep. He kissed her forehead as she drifted off.
When she woke it was daylight and the others were awake. Rafe was still holding her and he looked down at her eyes as she opened them. “You stink.” Was the first thing she said and he gave her a sarcastic laugh, “Like you don’t?” He asked. She definitely did.
They all did. She laid in his arms for a few more minutes before walking over to the others. “They have to be around here, there’s no way.” But Y/N didn’t believe that. She accepted in her mind that she lost 2 friends. JJ and Sarah. JJ was a troublemaker and very reckless but she loved him. He was always after trouble and sure that was annoying but he was the best.
Sarah was smart and so beautiful. She accepted people and not based on what they were. Kook or Pogue. She was awesome and her best friend. Tears welled up in her eyes as she thought about them. John B saw two people and he got the group's attention. Everyone gasped as they saw two people who from a distance looked like Sarah and JJ. “I’ll go check.” “I’ll come with.” Y/N said and they walked to see.
John B’s eyes lit up when he saw them and Y/N let out a sigh of relief. Sarah ran up to hug him and JJ gave Y/N a hug. “I thought you were dead.” She whispered. “I’m immortal.” He joked. They switched and Y/N hugged Sarah.
Rafe looked happy to see that she was alive. They all sat around the fire well sorta. Rafe was on the same side but facing the other way as the others talked. Y/N was holding his arm as they laughed.
“You know what would be a good baby name?” JJ asked. Y/N looked at Rafe confused. “JJ what?” She asked. Sarah was pregnant. “Sarah, you’re pregnant?” Y/N jumped up from the ground. Sarah nodded and Y/N ran over to hug her. “Congratulations!” She said.
Getting separated from the others was not ideal but she wasn’t about to let Rafe get arrested. For once he didn’t do anything. “Are you okay?” She asked, grabbing his hand. He nodded and started walking the other way of where the pogues went.
“We are finding Groff.” He told her. “What about them?” She asked. “We’ll see them.” Though she was nervous that wouldn’t be the case. Groff wasn’t easy to find but she thought she would find herself stepping on the top of buildings and houses in a foreign country for anyone. Rafe and her had on “disguises” which were just fancy coats.
She felt rich with it thanks to Rafe. Y/N gasps as she sees the dude that was trying to kill her and her friends. She and Rafe had behind a sheet for a second until Rafe threw a punch at the guy. Groff notices him and Y/N could tell that he was nervous. He truly had no idea who he messed with. Y/N couldn’t help but feel super hot seeing Rafe beat the piss out the guy. “Let’s go.” He calls her and takes Groff.
“You’re lying to me.” Rafe yells at him as he confronts him about the money. Y/N just watches and wishes she had some popcorn. Groff kept looking over at her. “Who’s this?” Groff asked and Rafe scuffed. He ignored the question and kept yelling at him.
Groff didn’t have the money. Though that wasn’t the surprising part. The surprising part was that Sophia (Rafe’s cousin) set him up. Sophia was staying at his place while he was gone and when he and Y/N came back he planned to buy her her own house.
That was no longer on the table and Rafe was pissed. Groff was being very cocky for someone who was about to fall. Literally in a well. Rafe was laughing like a maniac. Y/N leaned over the well and even chuckled herself. “You messed with the wrong guy.” She yelled to Groff. “You tell him baby.” Rafe laughed.
“Let’s get out of here.” He says as Groff is yelling his name. He had the map to the crown now and all they had to do was get it the pogues or at least that’s what Y/N thought was going to happen. “What are we doing?” She asked as Rafe opened the map. “We are finding the treasure.” He tells her. She glares at him, “Rafe, we have to get this map to my friends. You didn’t care about the treasure.” She points out.
He chuckles and looks at her, “yeah well my money is gone sweetheart. You are your friends can get a part of the money.” She wanted to take the map and run but realized what kind of man Rafe was and knew that wasn’t a good idea. “Rafe.” She warned. “I need you to help me read the map.” He tells her, ignoring her obvious anger towards him.
“Promise me that you aren’t going to take it and run.” She growls. He looks at her, “I promise you that you and your friends will get your part.” He says. She looks at him. Though they’ve had fun together these past few days, she’s well aware of what he is capable of. “If you’re lying to me and you take the money and run, you can kiss my ass goodbye and I’ll make sure to hunt you down.” He thinks he just fell in love with her.
They walked through the sand holding hands as she wore the pendant. He holds the map as the walks to the location. “Rafe.” She said and they look over to see a sand storm starting. “Holy fuck.” “We gotta move fast.” They didn’t get a chance to as they ended up being held at gunpoint. Y/N felt her stomach turn as she realized that there wasn’t a way out of this. They were fucked.
“That’s my brother and my best friend.” Sarah said and took the shot. Y/N screamed and Rafe took her hand and ran. The others followed. Rafe was about to shut the door before they all screamed at him to wait. Y/N laughed as she saw her friends. “You’re okay.” She breathed out and hugged Sarah. “Thank you for saving us.” She said. Rafe refused to give the map over.
“Rafe.” Y/N sternly said his name. “You’re gonna betray me just like everyone else in my life has.” He said to Sarah. Y/N saw him tear up. “Rafe no we won’t.” Y/N tried but he stepped away from her. Her jaw dropped. “Rafe…” “Dad would want us to work together.” Sarah said to him. Rafe always thought that Sarah got him killed but she finally told him. “It’s true Rafe. I was there.” Y/N told him, she had tears in her eyes. Sarah did as well.
“Rafe, I'm not going to betray you. Sarah isn’t either.” She walked up to him and cupped his face. “Rafe, I love you. You can trust me. I promise. And you trust Sarah too.” Rafe looked at her with tears streaming down his face. Sarah hugged him and he looked down lost in thought.
The look in his eyes was heartbreaking. “This is nice but we have to go.” Kie said. Rafe gives John B the map and Y/N takes the pendant and helps them. Rafe wasn’t any help other than complaining. “Heaven.” John B said as the other three paced trying to think. “John B hold up the map to the sky.” It was like they shared the idea. He did and she gasped. “Guys look.” He said and they all stared at the map. “What is that?” Rafe asked.
It was like luck was in their hands and they were near the crown. Y/N gasped. The crown was somewhere in the sand statue. They all ran as the same storm got worse. “You guys go back.” Kie said to John B and Sarah. Y/N watched as they ran away. Rafe pulled her along.
The storm was bad. JJ decided he would be the one to get the crown. Y/N gasped as the other people trying to get the crown started shooting at JJ. “I’ll go stop them.” Rafe said. “No.” Y/N grabbed him. “I can’t lose you.” “You won’t. I’ll be back. I love you.” He tells her. “Rafe, they will kill you.” Kie says. “I’m a killer too.” He said and ran off. Y/N was so nervous watching JJ and thinking about Rafe. Her and Kie yelling at JJ to hurry up.
JJ was screaming and yelling about the crown and hoped down to the girls. “Look.” He said and showed them. Kie and Y/N looked at each other and gasped. They had it.
Y/N ran ahead of them to find Rafe. She yelled his name in hopes that he would hear and that he wasn’t hurt or dead. “Y/N.” He yelled back and she turned and gasped. He was okay! “You’re okay!” She said and he picked her up and kissed her. She smiled against his lips. Tears in her eyes. “I told you I would be.” He said. “I love you so much Rafe Cameron.” She said and nudged his nose with hers.
He set her down and kissed her again. “I need to ask you something.” He said and she nodded. “I haven’t felt this way about anyone and I haven’t been through half the shit we just went through with anyone.” She smiled at his words. He sank to one knee and her smile dropped as her jaw did. “I know this is crazy but so was everything we just went through so I need to know.” He pulled out a ring. Y/N felt tears in her eyes. “It’s my mothers ring.” He states. “Will you marry me?” She let out a sob and nodded.
“Yes.” She said and slid the ring on her finger. He stood up and kissed her. “I love you too Y/N Y/L/N.” He said. “We have to find the others.” She said and the ran in the way she came. Y/N felt so happy about everything. They got the crown and she was engaged to Rafe Cameron. The man she thought she would never fall for. Life was good.
She saw everyone crouched around something. Shoulders shaking. They walked over and she gasped. JJ. “No.” She said and got on the ground next to him. He wasn’t breathing. Tears streaming down her eyes and sobs racked through her body. Rafe fell to the ground to hold her. JJ Maybank, one of her best friends, was dead.
Y/N watched as Rafe buried him. She couldn’t believe it. Everything was great for like 5 minutes. The crown was gone and so was JJ. Everyone sat around the fire, tears in their eyes as Rafe paced. “If that was my best friend, I would be out for blood.” Rafe said. “JJ wouldn’t sit here and sulk. He’d want to kill Groff.” Y/N said.
Sarah and Kie agreed. Rafe came and sat next to Y/N. He looked over at her and saw that look in her eyes. He knew it all too well. He, himself, has had that look in his eyes. It was the look of blood, the need and urge to kill. “Revenge.” Kie said. “For JJ.” Y/N growled.

It's Always Been You - Chapter 5
james potter x fem!reader
summary - After the disaster of a night you'd just had at the Gryffindor party, and not having seen James since, the biggest question running through your head is: what now?
wc [4.9k]
all chapters | <- Chapter 4 - Chapter 6 ->
The comfort of your bed hadn't been enough to stop you from waking up early the next morning and realizing your hyperactive brain wouldn't be letting you go back to sleep anytime soon. Doing your best not wake Lily or Marlene, you'd gathered your ink and parchment and headed down to the common room in front of the comfort of the fireplace to work on your Ancient Runes assignment.
You sat down on the aged fabric of the couch and it had your mind unwillingly drifting to the events that had happened in this very spot the night before. Maybe the common room wasn't the best choice.
Your feeling was confirmed when you heard the bold creak of the portrait entrance to the room swinging open. The sun hadn't even risen yet, a fact that had you peering back in curiosity at who in their right mind would be roaming the castle at this hour.
The same fact should've told you exactly who you'd find when you looked through the portrait hole and watched as James walked out of it and into the common room where you sat.
It took him a few seconds to notice you, head bent downwards with a slight hunch to his shoulders, breathing slightly labored. When he did, he stopped in his tracks like a deer in headlights.
You seemed to freeze from where you sat on the couch too, not knowing what to say right away like you normally would've. You didn't like that feeling; you always knew what to say around James.
The silence gave you a second to scan him over, taking in his appearance. He had a shine to him like he'd just gone for a run, something not out of the ordinary for James, especially with Quidditch season around the corner. Sweatshirt thrown over his shoulder, flushed cheeks and messy hair, the disheveled look only made your brain short-circuit even more.
"Hey," you greeted, if only to break the rigid silence that you could tell was forming.
"Hey." He stared at you bright eyed like he hadn't expected anyone to be in the common room at this hour, let alone you. His tone had a weight to it like he was out of breath, words coming out hesitantly and small. "What're you doing up so early?"
His eyes seemed to move across your position on the couch then too, showing genuine concern. Yet, you'd felt a sense of insecurity you weren't use to feeling in front of James. Shrugging, you said, "Couldn't sleep much."
"Yeah," he said, shaking his head. "Me- uhm, me neither."
It somehow felt like that was the first acknowledgment of what had happened the night before, the memory rippling through the air between you uncomfortably. The feeling pried at you, along with the fact that James was only acting like this because of you. Because of your feelings for him that he probably came to discover last night. You tried to swallow your awkwardness and forced yourself to act normal, but it seemed impossible to now.
"Practicing for Quidditch?" You turned fully in your seat with your hands on the back of the couch. James stared at you blankly for a second before answering, like it dawned on him you'd said something.
"What?" he asked, blinking. "Oh- yeah." With a dim breath of a laugh, he rubbed at the back of his neck, not moving any closer to your position on the couch. The distance between you felt miles wide.
"Did the guys mention the plans for the prank to you?" He asked the question as he put his hands in his pockets. You could tell he was trying to seem normal, like you were.
"Yeah."
He nodded again. "Good."
You nodded. The silence came back. "So, uhm, I'll meet you all at your dorm tonight to help set up?"
When he silently agreed, you took it as a your signal to head back to your own dorm, ignoring the fact that you'd only been downstairs for a few minutes. He watched you collect your things at your side wordlessly, turning back to him before you left like you'd forgotten something.
"Oh, and, could you tell Remus I figured out that one Ancient Runes problem, if he needs any help?"
He looked at you then like you were some sort of puzzle, a pinch settling itself between his brows. "Oh, yeah," he said plainly with a nod. "Sure."
From the way he looked at you, you would've paid millions just to get inside of his head and know what he was thinking. But you also didn't think you wanted to know at all.
With a pitiful wave goodbye, you didn't wait for him to wave back before you went up the stairs to your dorm room. When you made it back into your room you shut the door behind you, leaning against the back of it like you'd just ran a marathon.
Your two roommates were still sound asleep, a sight you weren't used to seeing. The light from the window fanned into the room delicately as the sun began to rise, a reminder that the day hadn't even begun and you already felt drained.
You'd spent the rest of the morning doing homework assignments in your dorm, feeling too tired to do much of anything else and also maybe trying to avoid a certain someone. Marlene had woken up some time ago, groaning something about being hungover as Lily pulled her out of bed with the promise of food.
You were finishing up studying for Alchemy when the door to your dorm swung open, revealing an exasperated-looking Marlene.
"Are you going to get with him or do I have to get you two alone in a closet again?"
Her demanding tone pulled your attention away from your books to where she stood at the door, hand on her hip. You squinted at her in confusion, a dreadful suspicion of what she was talking about invading your mind.
"Excuse me?"
With a dramatic roll of her eyes, she marched over to where you sat, setting a neat plate of pastries and other foods dangerously close to the corner of your desk.
"Your lover boy dropped this off since you weren't at breakfast." She eyed the textbooks on the table in front of you wearily. "Or lunch."
You paused, turning to take a glance at the clock on the wall and the window next to it, displaying the high-risen sun. Maybe you'd spent more than just the morning in your dorm.
You looked down at the plate. James was off his rocker if he thought you had enough of an appetite to eat everything he'd sent up to your dorm; it had all your favorites from breakfast on it and more. The fact made your heart swell and sting at the same time.
Scanning over the plate again, you picked out what looked like a blueberry scone shyly and bit into it, relishing in the way it immediately seemed to nourish your stomach that hadn't been fed anything except alcohol since yesterday afternoon.
"So..." Marlene began, her prying voice an interruption to your thoughts. "What'll it be?"
Your forehead creased and you looked up from the plate to where she stood next to you. "Huh?"
"Are you going to finally get with Potter?"
You swallowed the bite you'd taken, shaking your head at her in disbelief. "I don't see why I would."
"Oh I don't know," she said, leaning a hand on the back of your chair. "Maybe because you're madly in love with him?"
Her words rang a familiar alarm in your brain. "Marlene-"
"I mean, first the snogging in the broom closet-"
"Nothing happened in the broom closet."
"And now making out with him at a party-"
"Oh my god," you stopped her, feeling an unwelcome flutter rush through you. "We didn't make out. It was just a kiss, and it was during Spin the Bottle for Merlin's sake."
Her eyes were anything but relenting as she gazed down at you, something like amusement twisting her lips. "Just a kiss, huh?"
Like an unspoken battle you were set to lose, she stared down at you as you challengingly. Maybe noticing the sensitivity that was still settled behind your eyes at the topic, she relented, taking a step back from your chair.
"All I'm saying is that, from the looks of it, who knows what would've happened if you two had been behind closed doors."
"Marlene!" Your mouth hung from her suggestion and you put your scone down, grabbing the napkin that'd been placed on your plate and standing up to walk towards the vanity at the front of the room.
"It's true," she rang victoriously, her voice following you.
"It's not." You turned towards the mirror in front of you, putting down the napkin and grabbing a quill and ink. "We're not anything. I told you, I'm getting over him now. I give up."
"Yeah right," she argued, your desk chair squeaking against the floor as she took your seat, taking a pastry for herself. "'Give up'? Seriously?"
"I mean it, okay?" You faced her for a second to give her a look that lacked any lightheartedness. "I have to. Last night made that clear."
"So what're you going to do now? Ignore your feelings?" Her response came quicker than you knew what to do with. "Isn't that what you've been doing the whole time? Isn't that how you ended up in this situation?"
Her endless questions were like stones thrown at your back as you remained turned away from her, beginning to write a quick thank you note to James on the napkin before you.
"Ignoring it is the only thing I can do, alright?"
She scoffed like it was simple. "Or, you could just tell him."
A sense of wounded silence swirled around you as she waited for your turn in the endless back and forth you'd developed. You distracted yourself by fiddling with the quill in your hand, stopping your writing.
"I have a feeling he already knows."
You didn't need to look at her to take note of Marlene's incredulous stare. Her words came slowly with the wilting sound of both disbelief and sympathy. "What are you on about?"
"Last night," you started hesitantly. "After we kissed, he ... I could just see it in his eyes. Like he, I don't know. Like he realized something. Something like my feelings for him."
More silence followed your words for a beat, like the playfulness from before had broken and your admissions were shards of glass scattered dangerously on the floor.
"I really don't think that's the case," echoed Marlene's voice.
"It definitely is," you argued.
"Wouldn't he have mentioned it by now if that were true?"
You shook your head. "James is too nice to reject me. Maybe him ignoring it is better for the both of us." Your tone died down, somber, and you ignored the baffled look Marlene was giving you as you turned back towards her.
"It doesn't matter now anyway," you stated matter-of-factly as you folded the napkin in half and walked back over to where she sat, picking up the plate of pastries. "And hopefully this is the last time we'll ever have to talk about this."
The blonde stared up at you like she had more arguments inside of her waiting to be voiced, but her face contorted into an exasperated frown as she watched you slip on a pair of shoes.
"Where are you going now?"
"I'm supposed to meet the boys in their dorm."
Not missing a beat, she tipped her head at you in disbelief. "You mean James's dorm? His bedroom?"
You paused by the door, meeting her accusing gaze for only a second before picking up your bag from your nightstand. Your silence seemed to be enough of a response for her, and she leaned back in your desk chair like you'd worn her out.
"Merlin."
You held the plate of baked goods in one arm against your chest, using the other to knock on the door to the boys' dorm. At the prospect of seeing James again after the taxing interaction from this morning, you had to take a steadying breath, still unsure how things were between you.
You waited until a "Come in!" came from the other side, and opened the door, peaking your head in and exhaling at the sight of only Remus, Sirius, and Peter sitting on the floor around one of their beds. No James in sight. A guilty feeling pried at you at the fact that you were relieved by that.
The three of them were a sitting around a bunch of different odd objects and bottles that you assumed were for the prank.
"Hey," Peter rang, sitting up at the sight of you. You nodded at him in greeting.
"I come bearing food," you sung, and the others followed Peter in suit, sitting up excitedly. You sat the plate down in the center of them, and Sirius practically groaned as he bit into a croissant.
"Bless you woman."
You held back a laugh at his dramatics and the way Remus rushed to grab something too. Boys and their food.
Taking a seat, you slapped your hands on the side of your legs, inhaling tensely. "No James?"
You tried your best to sound casual, but even the three of them, notorious pranksters that they were, couldn't disguise the second of awkwardness that passed.
"Not yet," answered Remus. "He's handling some scheduling conflict with the Slytherin team over the Quidditch pitch."
"Bloody snakes can't even use a calendar properly," grumbled Sirius, though he said it with full mouth and it came out gargled in a way that had you wincing.
"Manners, Sirius," you chided with a joking tone, and he answered with a role of his eyes as he gulped down the rest of his bite.
"You sound like my mother."
With a feigned hand to your chest you batted the side of his arm as you took a seat on the floor beside him. Picking up an empty bottle that looked like shampoo, you eyed the rest of the supplies in front of you.
"So how are we gonna dye the Slytherins' hair red?"
Sirius laughed with a glint of mischief bleeding through his smile. "Now that's something my mother would never say."
The three of them explained the prank they were planning, in which you'd all replace the shampoo bottles in the Slytherin dorms with red hair dye in anticipation of the Gryffindor v. Slytherin quidditch match coming soon. How you were going to manage to swap out all the bottles you had no idea, but you usually worked out the technical parts soon enough.
You'd began pouring the red dye into different bottles, a line of the filled shampoos forming next to you.
"Moony, can you pass me another bottle?" asked Peter. Remus looked at him and nodded, picking up one and holding it out. Peter crawled across the center of the circle with a hand out, and that was when he'd crawled over one of the bottles, the pressure from his knee sending red dye went squirting all over the floor, but most horrifyingly, all over your shirt.
He panicked right away, freezing up at the site of the red dye splattered all over your front. You looked down at it in alarm and saw just how much of a mess it really made.
"Oh Merlin," Peter nervously rang. "Gods, I am so sorry-"
"It's alright, Pete," you assured him busily as you gingerly sat up straighter, careful not to knock anything else over. "Where's my wand?" You figured you could get it out with a spell quick enough.
Peter took his own wand out from his pocket, holding a hand out hurriedly. "Here, let me." He pointed his wand at your shirt. "Scourgify"
Not a second went by after Peter performed the spell did the stain on your shirt begin to darken in color, morphing from a bright Gryffindor red to a concerning maroon. Then, somehow, the stain grew in size and began to spread further up the fabric. You stood up from the ground, gaping at the sight.
Sirius stared in amused alarm between your shirt and a mortified Peter. "What the bloody hell did your spell do?"
"I- I don't know." The blonde stood up too, wand shaky in his hands. "Shit, I'm so sorry. I never did good in Charms. Here, let me try again-"
"No!" you cut in quickly, and then softened your tone just as fast. "I mean, don't worry about it." You took another look at your shirt that sported a stain that had now somehow turned back to a bright red again. "I think I'll just try and get the stain out in the bathroom, if you don't mind."
Peter nodded with nervous eyes, and as you closed the door behind you to the bathroom, you heard Remus drawl something that had Sirius barking out a laugh.
You looked at yourself in the mirror and sighed. The stain would certainly take more than some water to get out now.
You took a cloth from the sink and coated it in soapy water before pressing it to the stain. Not only was your shirt red but it was wet and sticking to your skin uncomfortably.
Picking up the hem of your top, you dabbed and pressed the cloth into the stain here and there for a few minutes. It helped wash out some of the intense color, but the Marauders were always thorough with their pranks, so you knew the stain wouldn't be coming out any time soon, at least not without the strongest of cleaning spells.
Just when you were deciding to leave it be, the door to the bathroom groaned open from behind you. Looking up, you saw from the reflection in the mirror that James must have had finally returned, because he was standing right behind you in the bathroom doorway.
You watched his expression still as he realized you were occupying the room. The second you turned to him though, his eyes shot wide.
"Woah," he whistled, abandoning his stillness and peering at your shirt. "It looks like a bloody crime scene in here."
You looked down at your shirt again. It certainly did look like a crime scene, and a bloody one at that. You ran a hand over your hair. "We had an accident setting up the prank."
"Yeah, I think you spilled something on your shirt." You could tell James was fighting back a laugh from the quirk of his lips.
"Thanks, Sherlock," you deadpanned, turning to him.
He squinted at you. "Who?"
His confusion almost made you laugh even in your exasperated state. You let out something low like a giggle and saw James's features warm at the sound. He was still for a moment looking at you. Then he cleared his throat.
"Let me get you a sweater or something to change into."
You shook your head. "Oh, no you really don't have to-"
"Don't be stupid." You raised your brows , but James corrected himself right away with a sheepish smile. "I mean, I give you my clothes all the time."
He was right. But somehow, you were sure wearing his clothes would feel different now.
"C'mon." James nodded his head to one side and turned to leave the bathroom. You followed after a moment and saw him reaching into his dresser, looking through one of the drawers. He pulled out a maroon sweater with the Gryffindor emblem on the corner—he loved that sweater. You knew he did.
Without batting an eye he placed it in your hands and nodded at you when you looked up at him unsurely. You peeked down at the soft sweater in your hands and then back at him. "Thank you."
The corners of his lips tugged upwards as he looked at you. "Of course."
You didn't go back to the bathroom to change straight away, and maybe that was because it felt like you couldn't. The air between you and James had felt off since that morning and still felt heavy now. You were all too aware of it and you were sure James was as well.
He rubbed his hands down the side of his legs quickly, a nervous habit, rocking back on his heels. He peered up at you through his lashes with unsureness and a bit of something else.
The silence seemed to stretch until it wore thin, and just as you were about to speak again, James beat you to it.
"Look," he began slowly, albeit shakily. His tone scared you. It took on a seriousness you seldom heard from James. "About last night-"
"James," you cut in. You knew what he was about to say, about to do. You didn't think you could stand there and listen to him do it. At your voice he stopped, eyes rapt with attention. "You don't have to ... we don't have to talk about it. I get it."
And you did. You knew he didn't see you in the same way you saw him. If he felt he had to formally reject you you'd save him from the trouble, half because you knew how kind he was and half because you knew you wouldn't be able to stand it.
He stared down at you with a stilled expression, though his eyes seemed to flicker across every inch of your face. You didn't know what he was thinking. Maybe relief.
"Let's just forget about it, okay?"
He still had that look on his face that you couldn't read. With his lips parted and the shadow of a crease between his brows, he nodded.
"Okay. Er, Yeah."
Maybe you knew in the back of your mind that James wanted to say more, that things weren't okay, but a bit of you selfishly just wanted to run away from the conversation.
You didn't end up running, of course, but you smiled at him assuringly before leaving for the bathroom again, him and his searching eyes behind you. You put on the sweater he'd given you, the fabric soft with a comforting weight heavy on your skin. Looking in the mirror, it was much too big on you and had you rolling up the sleeves, but the sight of you in it made you freeze up.
A feeling weighty and intense fluttered through you, but you didn't want to even think about why. It didn't help that you swore the sweater smelt cozy and familiar, like James's cologne.
Ignore, ignore, ignore.
That would be like your new mantra. It would have to be.
You opened the door to the bathroom again and went back into the dorm to where the boys were all sprawled around the floor still. You took the open spot next to Peter and across from James.
Once again Peter began muttering his apologies to you, all of which you warmly promised to him were unnecessary. Somehow, you knew James was looking at you.
You peeked over at him and saw that the feeling in your gut was right. His eyes raked over the sweater you wore delicately, slightly widened, before meeting yours.
You ignored the increased speed of your heartbeat in your chest, underneath his sweater. Mouthing a "thank you," to him one last time, you made yourself look away. The prank wouldn't finish itself.
For the next couple of hours the five of you continued working on the prank, avoiding all spills and chatting through all of it. Well, mainly you chatting with Sirius, Remus, and Peter. Maybe you were the reason for it subconsciously, but you probably spoke to James the least the whole night. And you weren't sure if it was just in your head, but he seemed off—not his usual loud James self. If it had anything to do with you, you wanted to kick yourself for it.
Was this how things were going to be now? Feeling tense whenever you were in the same room as him?
You told yourself of course not, that James was your best friend and that one night wouldn't and couldn't change that. But then why did it feel so impossible to look him in the eyes?
After another half hour or so James stopped working and said he wanted to head to bed early for Quidditch practice tomorrow. You all wished him goodnight, and he brushed past you, disappearing into the bathroom for a moment before slumping into bed.
James had never been a night owl, but even for him it was early. From the looks the four of you shared with each other wordlessly you could tell they were thinking the same thing.
None of you said anything aloud until a few minutes had gone by and without James stirring.
"Thank God he's off to bed," cut in Sirius, voice only lowered slightly for James's sake. "Now we can talk about what the hell happened last night between you two." He flashes his brows at you and you felt like dying.
"Sirius-"
"That was one hell of a kiss wasn't it?"
He turned to Peter and Remus who both gave their own looks of agreement, or secret amusement, much to your misery.
"You guys," you began with uneasiness. "I really don't feel like talking about this. Let's please not make this into something it's not."
"Something it's not?" Sirius blanched. "Did you see the kiss?"
"Obviously not, Sirius." Peter cut in with a laugh that could mean nothing good. "She was the one doing it. Eyes closed and everything."
"Oh my God."
"Oh, come on," rang Sirius again. "We're not gonna ignore this."
You lifted your head up from where you'd buried it in your hands, reaching for another empty shampoo bottle. "Yes, we are."
He reached for a bottle of his own. "No, we're not. Not if you two are gonna keep acting like this forever."
You paused, feeling caught. "Acting like what?"
Sirius rolled his eyes. "Don't play dumb with me here. The two of you have been weird around each other since the kiss. More weird than usual."
"He's right." Remus's unhelpful input on top of Sirius's half-offensive prying made your head start to spin. "You could cut the tension in here with a bloody knife."
Sirius scoffed in agreement. "Sexual tension, more like."
You shook your head tightly, mouth going dry, cheeks going warm. "I don't know what you're all talking about, and if we could stop talking about this now I'd really appreciate it." You looked back anxiously to where James was sleeping in his bed, dangerously close to where the four of you sat and definitely within hearing distance.
"Yeah right," Sirius laughed, though when you glared at him he lowered his voice obediently. "You're telling me that you don't feel anything for James after that? Anything at all?"
With three pairs of eyes staring at you, the lie felt sour on your tongue. "Yes."
"Oh, what a load of- Ow!"
Sirius yelped as you threw a bottle of shampoo at his arm, aggravated by all his yelling when James was slept a few feet away. For all you knew he could've been secretly awake, though the light snoring coming from his bed assured you otherwise.
"You've never been a good liar," chimed Remus, and you were this close to chucking something at him too. "You have to admit there's something there."
"Yeah." Sirius shrugged. "Maybe it was the reason you couldn't get a date to the Yule Ball last year."
Suddenly it felt like someone had slapped you across the face hours ago and left a red hot sting. You blinked at him like your ears were deceiving you. "Excuse me?"
Remus stared between the two of you with a foreboding expression, turning to Sirius in warning. "Sirius."
He didn't heed his friend's call, staying focused on you with a lightness to his drawl that made you want to smack him. "All I'm saying is, maybe you couldn't get a date because you were really just hung up on James. And maybe other people could see that."
You noticed Peter and Remus grimacing on either side of you, but even they didn't seem to disagree.
"What the hell?" you rang sharply, feeling like you were the only one hearing Sirius's idiotic theory for the first time. "Me not having a date to the dance was a choice, Sirius."
The boy nodded, a shadow of amusement hiding on his lips and raised eyebrows. "Yeah. It was." His answer only made you more angry.
"I could've gotten a date if I'd wanted to."
"I'm sure you could've."
You knew he was trying to be a pain in the arse, and that he knew it was working. Your cheeks heated at your tone and the fact that you felt like some defiant child throwing a tantrum. The fact didn't leave your mind as you stood up from the floor and began to turn to leave.
"Where are you going?" called Peter. You stopped in your tracks, glaring deliberately at Sirius.
"I already have Marlene prying me about this, so I really don't need to deal with more of it from you guys."
The three of them shared a look, whether scared or amused you didn't know.
"No more talking about the kiss. In fact, it didn't even happen. From this moment on, there will be no more kiss-talk. Got it?"
You noticed your reprimanding stance and the finger you had pointed at the three of them and momentarily felt like McGonagall.
They each nodded, Sirius putting his hands up in feigned innocence. You put your accusing finger in your pocket, but noticed the ruffling of a paper inside it: the thank-you note you'd written for James. In all your awkwardness you'd forgotten to give it to him like you always did.
Not looking back at the others for the looks you knew they were continuing to share, you walked over to James's bed where he lay soundlessly with his back to you. A bare shoulder rose and fell in a steady rhythm as you placed the slightly crumpled piece of paper delicately on his nightstand.
You turned back around and walked to the door to leave, stopping quickly to say goodbye.
"Night," you said curtly. Three pairs of wry eyes stared up at you knowingly.
With a huff, you ignored them and went back to your dorm for the night, thoughts of whatever the hell Sirius was talking about floating heavily through your mind.

After losing you a few days ago, Heaven was fine, no one knew what happened between you and Sera- except Adam but he kept quiet, He didn’t like you after what you did to Lute, he felt rather humbled from when you stopped and dragged him back to Heaven and it pissed him off entirely.
Sera was at her desk, finishing her work in the same room that had been covered by your blood days before but she cleaned that up before anyone would discover the incident. It was all fine until-
knock, knock, knock.
“Come in.” Sera says as she put her attention away from the papers she was focusing on, she sat up straight before Emily came in, panting and disheveled, a worried look on her face, “Emily?” Sera’s body relaxed into her seat, seeing as it was only her sister and not some official business, “What is the matter dear?” Sera asked with concern as Emily ran up to her desk tossed down whatever she had in her hands, “Where’s Y/n?” Emily asked, “The stars she made around the city are hurting, I can feel their pain.”
Sera looked down at her desk to see stars Emily gathered, they chimed weakly in sorrow, Sera didn’t know what to do but she did know what to say, “Y/n is…” she pauses, trying to remember the cover up story she made for your absence, “Y/n became fallen.” Sera says, Emily shocked and surprised, “but how? she says, trying to find any reason why you would, “A few days ago, she hurt many of our people, our people,” she half lied, “so she had to go.”
Emily looked down at the weakened stars on the desk, the stars seemed to have sensed your absence in Heaven and that’s when they began to grow bleak, “I didn’t even get to say goodbye,” Emily saddened, holding up one of the stars that squeaked to her, trying to tell them it’s woes, “how come no one told me about her becoming fallen?” she asks her sister, feeling a bit hurt from being left out in the blue, “she’s was hostile and dangerous,” Sera stated, lying behind your back to keep Emily at bay, “She had to dealt with quickly and she was.” She spoke, Emily softly poking the star with a boop to comfort it, “A week ago, I started sensing their dismay and before you know it, they are slowly becoming weaker,” Emily says as she walked around the desk to get close to her sister, she gave the star to Sera to hold, to see if Sera could feel their pain.
Sera held it with both hands, observing the star, the star sensed Sera’s presence and touch, it squeaked in sorrow before it crumbled in Sera’s hands, making both the Seraphim’s wide eye in shock, “oh no, what happened?” Emily says confused, taking the dust out of Sera’s hands rather quickly, no longer feeling any consciousness of the crumbled star, “why did it just..?” Emily tries to ask, not wanting to accept its loss, she took the other stars off the desk, scared they might fall apart as well.
Sera tried to think, it was one problem after another to her, she got rid of you for her own sake, realizing now she might have just jeopardized the balance of Heaven for all her people thanks to losing you because of her own selfishness, Sera sighed before standing up out of her seat, “I don’t know, Emily,” She said, honestly for once during their entire conversation, “but what I do know is that without someone with the ability to make the stars, all the stars might fade away too, especially the ones that work and help our people on a daily basis.” She states, walking to her younger sister, holding her hands in hers, “I’ll try and figure something out for our people, okay?” She comforts her, kissing her head before going back to sit at her desk to continue to work.
Emily quietly left the office without another word, she looked at her hands, after Sera had contact with your stars, the others crumbled to nothing but dust as well. Emily couldn’t help but wonder, where are you now? and are you okay? She would never know the answers but all she can do is hope that you are.
✧•✧•✧•✧•✧•✧•✧
You stared blankly in surprise after watching Alastor fight off Sir Pentious and launch him away in the air to who knows where, “well, it looks as though I need a visit to the tailor, best of luck, chums.” He waves off, “wait, you’re leaving?” You asked before Vaggie stepped in, “Alastor, we need your help, we need you to do your job.” She spoke before Angel added in, “we need a wall.” deadpanning.
“of course!” Alastor replied before he turned back, can’t let my project fall into disrepair already, what would the papers say?” he asked, snapping his fingers before walking away again, Angel shoving Vaggie away as he giggles, you caught Vaggie as she landed in your arms, giving you a quiet “thanks.” making Charlie smile at you both.
“Maybe we should head to the city? how about we find some new recruits? just us three!” Charlie offers, wrapping her arm around you and Vaggie, reeling you in for a hug side hug, “Sure, I’d love to help! after all, you did help me out a lot.” You smile as you stepped away from her hug, standing next to her before you three began to walk together towards the city.
“So I was thinking,” You say as you began a conversation with Charlie, “Since i’m staying at the Hotel and I can actually stop the extermination, what if we advertised protection from it?” You offered, thinking maybe it could be a good idea that would convince the public, “that’s actually quite smart.” Vaggie praised, making your heart swell in joy that she liked the idea, “really?” you ask, seeing if she meant it, “really!” Charlie exclaimed, bumping her arm into yours lightly with a smile on his face.
Upon walking into the city, you finally saw sinners and demons walking around the streets, since the last time you were here- everyone evacuated when you first arrived- you were rather excited to see so many people.
“So how are we gonna do this?” You chimed eagerly, walking backwards in front of Vaggie and Charlie, “do we go door to door or do we make an assembly?” You asked, tilting your head slightly, not noticing that some of the demons had already noticed you and began to hide.
Charlie smiled as she summoned paper with her ability, “here,” she says, handing you a flyer, “we walk up to sinners, person to person to advert their full attention! So it has everything you need to say to talk about the hotel.” She explains. You took the paper, skimming through the words to understand what you had to say or promote, “okay! I’ll go do just that!” You smiled.
“We’ll meet back up here at this spot and bring anyone we find.” Charlie says, giving Vaggie a flyer too, “Okay, I’ll be on my way then!” You say as you waved at them both before walking in your own direction, exploring the city.
You took turns and corners down the city, walking up to sinners of all sorts, tall or small, “Hi! Would you be interested to join us at the Hazbin Hotel?” You’d offer, only for them to back away or run off in fear or a hurry. It wasn’t long until people began to avoid you as a whole, feeling the same feeling you did when you first walked down these streets, “hello?” You’d call out into the empty streets once again, it wasn’t exactly the same as last time though, the people were just hiding this time.
“I mean no harm!” You shouted, slightly desperate for anyone to acknowledge your statement but no one seemed to do so, “I’m an angel- yes, but I can protect you from extermination like I have last time!” You tried to reason, only to hear a voice in the distance shout, “you made the extermination deadline shorter!” Making you falter at their claim, understanding now that they avoid and blame you for the new deadline than rather praise you for stopping the last extermination.
You sighed in defeat as you began to walk again, heading back to the regrouping spot, holding up the flyer to look at. You stared at handmade drawing on it with the big red hotel and a little Charlie on it making a small smile form on your face , ‘maybe they had luck trying to find recruits?’ You thought, trying to comfort yourself as you continued to walk.
As you walked down the empty streets, demons and sinners that were hiding around in corners and alleys were holding up their phones, taking photos and recordings of you as you walked, making you feel uneasy by yourself, you were wishing you could just fly away but your wings were still healing, perhaps you should help heal them quicker using some of your mana tonight, you thought as you hugged yourself.
You picked up your pace slightly, feeling more paranoid by yourself from the inaudible whispers, when you turned the corner, you smiled as you shouted to Charlie and waved, relieved to see the two familiar faces again, “Charlie! I’m back.” You called, stopping in front of her with a smile, “Y/n! How’d it go?” She asks, making your smile falter, “oh, uhm,” you began, looking away, “I couldn’t get anyone.” You confessed, disappointed in yourself, “Oh,” she says a little upset before brushing it off with a smile again, “well that’s alright!” She comforted, “the day has just begun so we have all day to look around the city!” she chimed, raising her hand in the air, only for the city lights to flicker and shut down, “or not…” she says, raising her arm down, the only light source being their eyes, except you, “wow you glow so pretty.” Charlie says to you, making Vaggie look at you as well, “Yeah, you light up like a star, even your eyes glow- wait are your pupils like shooting stars?” She says as she smiles, you wave off their compliments shyly, getting embarrassed from their sudden flattery remarks, “heh, yeah, it’s mostly my wings that glow though but right now they’re… ehhh..” you trailed off, looking at your bandaged wings and shrugging.
It wasn’t long until you started hearing screaming, the city power going out was now making the city panic in a frenzy, “wait, what’s going on?” You asked, now seeing demons were running rampant and started getting hostile, “well- you see-“ Charlie tries to explain before a car flipped over next to her, making her jump in fright, “when the power of the city goes out- so does the internet…” Charlie explains, taking your hand, “which is why I think it’s best if we just head back to the hotel for the day.” She says, dragging you slightly as you ran from the city, Vaggie using an angelic spear to protect you both as you followed back to the hotel.
✧•✧•✧•✧•✧•✧•✧
Unbeknownst to you, Alastor and his rival were arguing through radio and video, making the power in hell go out. In a small meeting room of the Vee’s Tower, they talked about the radio demon and Charlie Morningstar, not to mention ‘miss shooting star,’ and how she would become a great use to them, specifically you.
✧•✧•✧•✧•✧•✧•✧
You groaned, completely exhausted from the running and walking for half an hour, you three walked back in the Hotel, you hadn’t run in so long, you were completely out of it as you ‘plomped’ into the ground, in the same place as you did when you first arrived, Charlie plopping onto the sofa, tired as well. “So how’d it go?” Angel smirked, scrolling through his phone, “Not a single new recruit.” Vaggie said as she leans against the sofas arm rest, sighing.
You lift your head up from the ground, looking up to see the black kitty cleaning herself next to you, “Hey what’s her name?” You ask, hoping someone would answer, “her names Keekee, she’s the embodiment of the hotel.” Vaggie says, turning to you before hearing a knock at the door, “Keekeeee..” you called for her, scooting closer to her as her tiny paws lifted her up to walk closer to you. She rubbed her face against yours, purring, making your pupils dilate in pure joy, eyes sparkling.
You made a star and waved it around keekee, making her chase it like a red laser light. You giggled as you played with her, meanwhile Charlie got up to follow Vaggie to the door, passing by you and smiling at how comfortable you were beginning to feel in her hotel.
You sat up as you moved the star around with a swing of your finger, Keekee spinning in circles and chasing the star, you let her catch it eventually, she picked it up, jumping into your arms and purring, you stood up with Keekee in arms and turned to see the snake serpent from earlier with Charlie, you decided to talk to them to find out what’s going on, “hey Charlie, who’s the new guy?” You asked, the snake slithered behind Charlie after seeing you, “oh, he’s our new resident, Sir Pentious!” She exclaims excited before moving to the side to introduce the serpent to you, “Pentious, this is Y/n, she is also one of our staff members!” Charlie smiles as you stepped closer to Sir Pentious, “it’s nice to meet you,” you smile at him, with Keekee still in arms, “oh- and this is Keekee!” You say, lifting her up to show her to him as he waved nervously at you both, Keekee hissed at Sir Pentious and jumped out of your arms, making you frown with an “aww.”
“Okay, today, how about we start with some exercises?” Charlie asks, walking to the parlor, gathering a few of your attention, “Now! With a new resident, I think it’s important we all get to know each other, so we are going to play a little game.” Charlie says as you sat in a circle, sitting between Sir Pentious and Angel Dust, “everyone, follow me,” she says as she smiled, “my name is Charlie,” she clapped twice before kneeling down next to Vaggie, “I like to sing,” clap, clap, “and when we get to know each other, it’s the greatest thing!” She chimes, clapping twice again before gesturing her hand toward Sir Pentious, signaling it was his turn.
“My name’s Sir Pentious,” he clapped twice, nervously, “I like to build,” clap, clap, “and despite my stupid Egg Bois, I think i’m very skilled,” he clapped twice, happy about how smoothly he manages to play his part before gesturing his hand to you, signaling it was your turn now, you nervously sat up as you began, “uhh, my name is Y/n,” you clapped, slightly off beat, “I’m a former seraphim,” you clapped twice, on beat this time, “and if you can’t tell, I’m not good with rhythm.” You clapped, wanting the attention off of you from your silly act. You gestured your arm quickly to Angel who was on his phone, “this is stupid.” He deadpanned, looking up from his device, “this is not stupid,” Charlie clapped twice, walking toward Angel, “it’s just the game,” she smiled clapping again, “these two did it well so please try to do the same!” She sung, clapping twice as she leaned toward Angel.
“I am too sober for this.” He says, as he rubbed his temples, looking down, “Well, get used to it and learn how to play, this is gonna be your whole day.” Vaggie says before clapping twice, making you snicker a laugh. “Well how about we try something else?” Charlie says as she stepped back in the circle, “oh, I have an idea!!” You chimed, raising and waving your hand rather excitedly, “alright, what do you have in mind?” Charlie asks, you stand up before bringing Charlie’s hand together with your own, oblivious to Vaggie who immediately stood up for what ever reason, you used your ability to make a portion of cosmic dust into her hands, walking to do the same with the others, “what’s this for?” Charlie asked, looking at the glowing and sparkling dust in her hands, “It’s cosmic dust! I’m going to show you how to make stars.” You smiled, giving some to Sir Pentious and going to Angel, “ooh, this sounds rather interesting.” Charlie smiles, sitting down next to Vaggie, who also sat down next to her.
After giving everyone a portion of cosmic dust you were now in the lead to direct everyone, “okay so first, you want to try and shape out the dust into the form of a star as best you can.” you explained as you gave them a visual guidance with your own hands. “Next, you want to crush it together until it hardens and molds, easy right?” You smiled as you showed them the steps again, a star forming in your hands.
You giggled as you watched Sir Pentious try, only for it to explode in his face like he popped a balloon with glitter, “here, let’s try again,” you say as you summoned more dust for him, “first you shape it, then crush it like this!” You say as you guided him, thoroughly, the star wasn’t shaped perfectly but it was in his eyes as they sparkled from the new creation he had made. You walked off to help Charlie and Vaggie but you saw Charlie make it almost perfectly, “woah that’s amazing, not everyone can get it this well on their first try!” You complimented her, looking at the perfect curves on the star, “Oh, it’s not my first time, my dad used to teach me how to make them when I was younger!” She informs, making your heart stop for a moment, “oh, your dad, huh?” You pondered, “yeah, he used to always make them for some reason, he showed me how but it’s been a while since I have made one.” She said, raising the star close to her again, “that’s lovely…” you say as you stepped back, “I’m gonna go check on Angel since you got it, how about helping Vaggie?” You smiled, seeing as the dust had covered her face too.
You walked to Angel and kneeled down, “so how’s it going?” You asked. He looked up at you, seeing as he didn’t even bother to try, the dust still in his hands, “what do you think?” He says sarcastically, “well, I think you just need a little push!” You say, taking his hands toward you, shaping the star and helping him hold his hands together to mold it, “okay, now what?” He asked, not really interested, you laughed lightly, taking the star from his hands and clasping it into your own before opening your hands and giving the star back to Angel.
He looked at the star, seeing it was as the same until the star chimed, it blinked open its eyes, making Angel Dust blink in surprise, the star was now alive as it floated in Angels hand “now you get to keep it!” You say, going back to Pentious to make his star sentient as well.
You walked to Sir Pentious, who was still admiring how it glowed, you took it from him quickly, drawing his attention with a frown, giving it back to him quickly than he could say anything, his smile grew twice as much when the star squeaked in his hands, “this is such the sweetest thing.” Sir Pentious spoke before asking you, “Can it do labor?” With a serious tone, you nodded before walking away to Charlie and Vaggie, “perfect.” He said with a mischievous grin.
“So, how’s it going here?” You asked, as you kneeled down to the ground, “it’s actually going pretty well right now,” Charlie said, showing you both their stars, you smiled as you took them in your hands and admired their details, for some reason, you began to feel sentimental, you looked up at Charlie and for a second- you saw Lucifer. You blinked in surprise, shocked from your own delusions, you leaned away from them for a moment, just to see it was Charlie again, “are you alright?” Charlie asked, you recompose yourself with a quick, “yeah, yeah, sorry,” you sat up again, giving them both their stars, “I wanna try something with you, Charlie.” You requested, putting the star in her hand, “what is it?” She asked, “the star,” you pointed at it, “make it sentient.” You demanded, softly.
“How do I do that?” She asked, slightly confused at your request, “if you have powers like your father, there’s a chance you can make it come alive, just focus.” You smiled, sitting patiently as she looked at the star before closing her eyes and channeling her power through into it. The star began to emit a soft golden glow making your eyes widen in awe, that nostalgic feeling gnawing at you now and before you know it, the star chimed, shocking you completely, “oh my stars, you did it!” You squealed, leaning toward the star in her hand giggling in excitement, “I did?” She asked, surprised that you were fawning over her sentient creation, “yes! No Angel in Heaven were able to make sentient stars like me,” you say as you sat up again, “but you can!” You beamed, happy to find someone who could, “I’m just so happy a long life dream of mine became reality.” You smiled, feeling less alone in your unique abilities, “My father also taught me how do this, you know.” She smiled making you pause in surprise, “he did??” You say, surprised, “yeah, he said while Luna- uhm- you were making stars, he’d always watch you and eventually, he learned in your steps.” She smiled, making you feel mixed emotions of longing and disgust, one set of your mind feeling happy that he was strongly interested in your passions but the other felt rather insulted, like he took you own skills as his own, you didn’t know how to respond without feeling rather emotional to Charlie so you decided to avoid the subject of topic.
“That’s really nice and all,” you waved off the topic of Lucifer, “but how about we go to the next exercise of the day?” You asked, Charlie smiled and stood up, “for the next thing I want us to do is put on a little play,” she said, helping Vaggie up, “you guys wait here, I’ll go and get the others.” She smiled as she walked away from the parlor and into the lobby, leaving you four alone together. Sir Pentious was distracted, playing with the star he had made and Angel was on his phone, the star tucked in his chest fluff, leaving you and Vaggie staring at each other awkwardly, “so..” you began, “that weapon you carry around,” you pointed at Vaggie, “where’d you get it?” You asked, a little of hostility in your voice, knowing that exorcists bring harm to sinners, “Oh- I uh…” she stuttered, looking away from you, “I found it after one of the exterminations a few years back?” She shrugged, smiling nervously, making you stand up unconvinced, “I don’t wanna invade your privacy or anything but what happened to your eye?” You asked, pointing at your own, making her step back, you realized you were making her uncomfortable so you sighed, realizing your own anger, “sorry,” you apologized, “seeing you hold that weapon, really set me on edge earlier,” you explained, “I trust that you are using it to keep others safe?” You smiled, trying to sound comforting in way for her to understand, she nodded as well, “yeah, I use it to keep the others safe.” She smiled, turning to you, Charlie came back with Husk, Niffty and Alastor, stopping you from continuing your conversation, “perhaps you could explain another time?” You asked, Vaggie nodded in agreement, making you turn and walk away towards the sofa.
You sat next to Sir Pentious on the sofa as the others came along to join, Husk sat in the chair as Niffty squabbled around behind the sofa, staring deeply at Sir Pentious much to your disliking, it was rather uncomfortable, Vaggie sat next to Pentious on the other end and Alastor stood next to you. “Okay so between our two residents, i’d like them to act out this script,” Charlie said, walking towards Pentious, “You are going to play the innocent young boy and Angel,” she turned to him, “You are going to play the creepy old man.” she smiled, giving him his script, “wait, seriously?” he deadpanned, looking away from his phone to look at the paper.
“Now what you need are some outfits!” she chimed, giving Sir Pentious and Angel outfits for the little play, “just put these on and we can begin.” she said, sitting next to you after Pentious got up to put the clothes over his own.
After a while, Sir Pentious somehow had a comically large lollipop, licking the sugary treat, as Angel sighed, unenthusiastically, “oh, i’m a bad man on the streets, who never got enough hugs,” Angel began, looking at his script, “now, where’s an innocent kid I could sell crack too?” he asks, while you leaned forward in your seat, “wow, who wrote this?” Angel asks, baffled, “it’s great right?” Charlie smiled, making you look at her and Angel, “keep going!” she waved her hand downwards at him. “Hey, you,” Angel began again, pointing at Pentious before he looked back at his paper, “who, me?” Sir Pentious chimed, sparkling his eyes, “yeah, you look like a kid who could use some.. devil’s dandruff??” he questioned at the name, “oh, for fuck’s sake.” he said, rubbing a hand through his hair, “not me,” Sir Pentious said, shaking his head, “I have to go home and study!” he smiled, looking at Angel, “come on kid, it’ll make you cool like me..” Angel paused before looking up unimpressed, “the crack head.” “the only cool thing here is to say no to drugs,” Sir Pentious played on, shaking his head again, “now, if you’ll excuse me, i’m off to not have sexual intercourse before marriage!” he ginned, a hand to his chest with pride, proud of his act, Charlie stood up and clapped in amusement, “oh, bravo! bravo,” she smiled, walking to Pentious, “wow, Pentious, at this rate you’ll be redeemed in no time.” she complimented, you got up as well to join the conversation only to gaze at Angel as he spoke, “I.. I’m going to bed.” He said as he walked to the stairs with a frown, sensing that something was off, you watched him, concerned.
No one seemed to notice his mood as Charlie kept praising Sir Pentious for his wonderful acting, you decided to follow Angel, worried for him, sensing you could possibly relate to his troubles and through personal experience, you always wanted a shoulder to lean on so maybe that’s what he wanted as well? At least that’s what you think, “Angel, wait,” you called for him as you ran up the stairs. He stopped to turn to you, “what is it?” He asked bluntly, making you second guess yourself, “oh- uh- I noticed you might not be too happy” you stuttered, “so I just came to ask if you’re alright.” You say, a small smile wrying on your face, he sighed, “I’m fine.” He said, crossing his arms, avoiding your gaze, “okay, okay, well- if you need anything, I’m always here to help,” you offered, hugging your arm awkwardly, “if you need any at any time of course.” you say before turning away and going back to the others, “goodnight, Angel.” You waved at him, heading back downstairs with everyone else.
“And what do you think about my performance?” Sir Pentious asked, a little way too basked in with compliments, “oh- it was good,” you smiled at him, trying to go to Charlie to ask her something, “Hey Charlie, can I have some snacks?” You ask her, wanting to head to your room for the night, “Oh, sure! they’re in the kitchen down that hallway to the left.” She smiled, pointing to the direction, “thanks, i’m gonna head to my room for the night, so goodnight.” You waved at her, walking to the kitchen, hearing her telling you goodnight as well, not even acknowledging Sir Pentious was trying to talk to you.
After gathering yourself some snacks that might interest you, you waddled up to your room and laid in your bed, playing around with the sentient stars in your room that were raining star dust on the floor, they were making a mess but you didn’t mind as you just kept making more, munching away from your snacks. Your room was eventually covered in star and cosmic dust but to you, it was just a touch of your own decor, making feel more like you were at home.
It wasn’t long until you heard a thud through the walls, you sat up curiously until you heard shouting and fighting in the distance, you got out of your bed and walked out your room, seeing Charlie and Vaggie were also out of their rooms from the noise, Vaggie held that spear again, walking to the nearby room with muffled shouting, “What’s going on?” Charlie yawned, Vaggie standing next to her as you leaned to peek in the room, seeing it was Angel Dust and Sir Pentious, “this little bitch is a traitor!” Angel shouted, holding Pentious’ arm, “preposterous! I would never betray you…” Pentious exclaimed, slithering toward you and Charlie, “you… are my best friends!” he says hugging you both, making you smile that he sees you that way.
Angel was unimpressed from the facade he put on display for you three, “uh-huh, then explain this.” he said, pushing a book away from a hidden camera, making you drop your happy demeanor to hurt and surprise, it didn’t help when Pentious began to panic and started running towards the window, yelling at the watch in his wrist, demanding an evacuation. You were somewhat upset, you spent the entire day getting to know each other and it turned out to be he only did so because he was a spy? You wanted to just throw him out but you stopped yourself from getting close when you overheard the voice on his watch, “Pentious? Wait… you were caught?!” The voice questioned, “it hasn’t even been a day!” The voice laughed, you walked up to Pentious, looming over his conversation curiously, seeing who he was talking to, “please, you’ve got to get me out of here!” Pentious pleaded as you saw the unfamiliar voice had a head shaped like a T.V. with blue toned colors, you were at a loss for words, for some reason, this situation felt horribly nostalgic, it made you feel unforgiving and aggravated.
“I can’t believe we thought you could handle even something this simple,” the voice continued, rather disappointed, “do us a favor, if they don’t kill you,” he turned to Pentious, glaring at him, blue static emitting around it the watch, “go ahead and do it yourself, you miserable failure.” It finished, turning off, you looked at Pentious who was tearing up in disbelief, “I… I,” he paused before turning to the other three, “just make it quick, I guess..” he said, throwing his watch away and laying on the ground, you kicked the watch away in spite of the person that said cruel words, stepping toward Pentious “gladly.” Vaggie said as she held up her spear, seemingly more upset than you, you wanted to stop her but Charlie lowered her weapon, making you halt and step back, all you wanted to do was throw him out. “Wait,” Charlie said, walking to the crying serpent, “Pentious?” Charlie called to him, holding out a hand for him, He looked up at her confused before she began, “it starts with sorry.” She smiled at him, he blinked twice before taking her hands and she lifted him up as you were caught off guard from how seemingly forgiving Charlie was. “The path to forgiveness is a twisting trail of hearts but sorry is where it starts.” She began, trying to continue Pentious’ path to redemption, “it’s just a rough start but it’s just the beginning.” Charlie comforted Pentious, you were puzzled from the situation, he had betrayed everyone’s trust and yet, Charlie was stepping first, forgiving him.
“Who could forgive a dirt bag like me?” Pentious began to cry, making you step out the room to collect your own thoughts, “I don’t deserve your amnesty.” He said, lying on the ground again, Vaggie and Angel walked in unenthusiastically and indifferent, holding out weapons, “can’t we just kill him? Shoot him and spill his blood?” They asked, cornering him with their weapons, you didn’t bother with the conversation anymore as you were lost in your own thoughts, you didn’t even notice Niffty came along and stood next to you, watching.
While you leaned on the door, lost in thought, you didn’t notice Pentious came up to you and took your hand in his, “I just wanted to apologize for how I may have hurt you.” He said, looking at you with sincerity, “and?” You asked, unconvinced of his apology, “I genuinely did enjoy making stars with you today and was hoping we could make some more some other time?” He smiled at you, making your cold attitude change, you looked away from him to think, his expression displayed of genuine and promise, making you smile somewhat, you turn back to him, moving your hands away from his and gave him a simple answer, “sure,” you say with a soft smile, “but if you pull something like this again, you can see yourself against Vaggie spear.” You threatened, putting up a cold facade, half joking. You didn’t want anyone hurt but you also didn’t want yourself to hurt either.
Charlie sighed, satisfied with Pentious and his apologies full of sincerity, “good first day,” she said, putting a hand around Vaggie’s waist, smiling, “let’s get some rest,” She says, dismissing everyone for the night, “goodnight guys.” Charlie waved at everyone who left to their rooms.
You closed the door behind you as you entered your room, your stars were floating around as they chimed in your room. You walked to your bed and jumped into it, sighing in relief to finally be in bed again, you laid there for a moment before sitting up, thinking again, Sir Pentious wasn’t the first to betray you and seeing Charlie being so forgiving made you feel some sort of spark.. and you pondered as to why. Her guidance to forgiveness made you give Sir Pentious a second chance…
So if on that fateful night..
If you had listened to Lucifer, if you had gave a second chance…
Would things be different with the two of you? Or was it him just trying to use you like your mind has told you all these years?
You didn’t have any answers to your questions as you sighed, you grabbed the snacks you had left on the other side of your bed and began to munch on them again, sort of just eating to get your mind off things. You then tried to grab one of your wings carefully, guiding the stars that floated in your room to your injured feathers and used their stardust to heal the wounds you began to unwrap, they still looked awful but the blood has dried up long ago at least, you then carefully groomed your wings one at a time, letting dust gently lay on your cuts, healing them after a bit. You spent hours of the night healing the tiniest wounds you possibly had, practicing on yourself to learn how to heal better over time as the whole process for all your wings made you stay up through the whole night, you eventually fell asleep without even knowing.

A/n: HEY GUYS I AM BACK WITH A DOOSIE. okay so my fashion show was fantastic, let me know if y'all wanna see a video of my collection i think it turned out pretty damn good. anyways, wrote this while crocked off my ass on Benadryl bc allergy season is hitting very very hard right now so if it's not perfect we are all going to collectively blame the Benadryl, okay? okay.
Summary: An accident in the laundry causes chaos in the camp, and secrets are revealed sooner than expected. With everyone else acting like the world is caving in, Arthur steps up as usual.
Warnings: misogyny, major gender role tropes, a little bit of personal violation, but very minor. Susan is a bitch in this chapter (we love Susan). Blood plays a lot into this chapter, and so do menstrual cycles, so if you're uncomfortable with those mentions, this may be a skippable chapter for you. There's also like some sexual implications but nothing inherently sexual happens. I think that's it, let me know if I missed anything.

“Climb up, let’s go to town before closing time,” he walked around to the other side where his horse was hitched from earlier today, still saddled since Bill hadn’t made his rounds yet. You complied, but were unsure of the motives for such a trip. “Is Dutch paying you to take me somewhere? He want you to kill me quietly?”
In the weeks since John’s disappearance, you’ve noticed three things:
One, Dutch hasn’t barely been seen in the camp, and when he makes his presence known, it’s either angry or forlorn. Two, the entire gang has been very quiet, not wanting to set off Dutch, or make anyone else upset with the matter. Three, Arthur has done as he said he would, becoming closer with Abigail, and helping nightly with Jack.
It shouldn’t break your heart, because you had no right for it to. You shouldn’t be distancing yourself from the both of them, they didn’t do anything to deserve it, but the way your chest tightened by watching them, watching Arthur gently place a hand on her shoulder as he watched Jack squirm in her arms was far too miserable. Abigail won’t speak of it, knowing that everyone has been on edge since her former lover left, but she missed the talks and conversations you held. You understood her, and though she didn’t exactly know the truth as to why, she was still partially in grief over that bond, too.
Arthur takes immediate notice, but doesn’t say anything. Hosea had mentioned your run in with John the evening he took off. He figured you needed time to cope with the situation, even if you didn’t know John all that well, or even like him for that matter. Everyone in camp was dealing with it differently, so why should he judge the way you handled yourself?
It was only when you stopped talking to him altogether that he became slightly concerned, and he wasn’t the only one.
When Dutch first brought you into the gang, he knew there was some subtle competition with you and Arthur. The two fastest guns in the west, hell, maybe even the world… but you butted heads often. He didn’t know why it had suddenly stopped, but his concern grew from being in both your presences at the same time, and the icy feeling he got just from standing between you, running over job details in a tent.
It was like Arthur didn’t exist to you anymore. Everything you said and did was conveyed to the people around him, but never to him. You would even give news to a big group of people to avoid telling Arthur directly.
Dutch knew there was something wrong, because he could have sworn you both were inches away from getting along, but now it was worse than square one. It was after a successful job that he said something about it. After you had deliberately handed Arthur’s cut to Javier and told him to give it to the next man over.
You’d ridden back, safe and sound, but Dutch held you back, nodding the others away from the horse troughs.
“Talk with me for a bit, will ya son?” He tried to approach the situation gently. This couldn’t have been a gradual thing.
“F’course,” you muttered, hands resting on your gun belt as you followed him into the center of camp.
“I’ve been noticing some… strange behavior from you towards Arthur. Only lately…” he scratched his head, looking at you expectantly. “You can tell me if he did somethin’ to piss you off, I’ll speak with him about it.”
You furrowed your brow and shook your head. “He didn’t do nothin’ to piss me off… I’ve just always been better off on my own, don’t wanna rely on anyone.”
“I can understand that sentiment, but it doesn’t make any damn sense as to why you’re givin’ him the cold shoulder,” he furthered his point, and you didn’t have any choice but to make something else up. Something that could actually be worth what you were doing to Arthur. Your head told you that the truth of ‘I’m actually a young woman and I’m catching feelings for your gang enforcer’ wouldn’t help you.
“He’s been tryna hold me back,” you sighed out, as if revealing some huge secret. It was partially true, but you’d grown more relaxed about the protection Arthur had been trying to provide. Still, you kept on the charade, knowing it would get you out of this situation free and clear. “M’tired of him thinkin’ I can’t keep up, tired of feelin’ like a helpless kid next to ‘im.”
Dutch let out a breath and narrowed his eyes. “I see… and so you figured it best to keep him out of arm’s reach, is that it?”
“Guess so,” you shrugged, leaning against the pole of his big tent.
And then it seemed that Dutch saw this as a teaching moment, because he nodded for you to sit down on one of the cross latch boxes, across from where he stood. He had a whole spiel oncoming, and you were almost sure you knew what it would contain. Something about the camp being a family, everyone sticking together and more nonsense of the like.
“You don’t understand this now, because you’ve never had a time of need in this gang… but that day will come,” he paused, and you perhaps had it all wrong, listening intently now. He pointed in the direction of Arthur’s camp set up, and you glanced over, not for the first time that day. He was tired, hunched over his cot and leaning in exhaustion, running his hand over his face. “And when you are in that time of need, there is no better man to have in your corner than Arthur Morgan.”
You nodded in understanding, a small frown on your face. You wanted to protect yourself, but if what Dutch says is true, you’re only setting yourself up for failure.
“He’s been here a long time, and no matter your opinion of him, no matter the things you do or the things you say, he’s loyal. It ain’t up to me what you decide to do, but you should know, he’s the best ally you’re ever gonna have.”
And just like that, you regretted the past weeks. Everything you did to avoid him, getting up early to grab some of the coffee before he came by. Going out and hunting without letting anyone know, just so that he didn’t have a chance to come with you. Even going as far as to mend your own clothing and do your own laundry, knowing he might catch you at one of the girl’s stations while picking up your weekly wears. You felt awful. You remembered at least four times he tried to approach you before he just gave up. At the time you were grateful, because you thought it was making things easier for you, but in actuality, the things Dutch said were true. You needed him in your corner. There would be a time of need, and Arthur was the best ally to have when that time would come, whatever it may be.
“I think I oughta go set things right, then,” you let out, your ego deflating slightly when your eyes met Dutch again.
“If you think it’s best,” he nodded, switching places with you and watching you walk over to his favored outlaw, the man he called his son. He called you son, too. You wondered if that would hold up if he ever found out about you.
Arthur was on the verge of sleep, but you were doing this now. You could apologize later.
“You look like shit,” you tried to be nonchalant, and not bring any emotion into this.
When he looked up, he was slightly annoyed, but his face softened once he looked at you for a moment.
“Feel like shit,” he grumbled, trying to understand what you were doing here. You didn’t exactly give him reason to believe he was important to you anymore. “Did you need something?”
You kicked the dirt beneath your boot, trying to keep yourself composed, but you weren’t too good at these things, and the amount of shear stiffness in your body wasn’t helping you to relax about it.
“I think I owe you an apology,” you started, and he tilted his head in slight confusion. Sure, he knew what you were apologizing for, but he didn’t know why. “I’ve been avoidin’ you, n’ I shouldn’t have.”
He nodded in thanks, accepting your words. You stood awkwardly, unsure if you should say more or just leave, but when you turned your boot to walk, he stopped you.
“Did I piss you off or somethin’?”
Why was everyone asking that?
“No, ain’t nothing you did. Just my own stupid ass and things that don’t matter,” you told him. You felt even worse now, because you’d made both him and Dutch think that it was something he did wrong. He could rarely do any wrong in your eyes, which made this whole ordeal that much worse.
“Matters enough, you stopped talking to me. Couldn’t even get you to look my way.”
You didn’t want him to know anything else. With him and Abigail rapidly forming a blossoming relationship, it wasn’t for you to stand in their way. Jack needed a father figure, and Arthur was the perfect candidate.
“I’m sorry about it. I swear it won’t happen again,” you really wanted to leave this time, unsure of how far it may go in the event of a deep conversation… but he caught your wrist and gently tugged it back towards where he sat as soon as you started turning away again.
“You gotta give me somethin’, Red. I’ve waited weeks just to ask you,” he pleaded, his tired eyes looking through you and trying to enter your mind. You caved just as soon as you saw how badly this affected him. You hurt him. He might be big, burly, and dangerous… but he bleeds, and his heart can be wounded as easily as anyone else’s.
“I’ve been going through some things, and you’ve had a lot on your plate with Jack and Abigail. It’s not fair of me to make my burdens your burdens… I was tryna keep you out of it,” you admitted, which was only half true. The partial truths of the night were stacking up, but fortunately he couldn’t tell the difference right now, too tired and unfocused to really study your features and what you were hiding.
“Red,” he sighed, not yet prying for more information, but giving you one last glance. “You can tell me things. Remember that.”
You nodded, smiling at him for the first time since John left. “Alright.”
-
You stopped avoiding and ignoring Arthur, but things were still distant. You’d been getting close right after Jack was born, but going into his third month in the world, you two were miles apart. Still, it was better than the stone cold facade you’d been turning to him before.
“Got any laundry?” Susan asked, breaking you out of your trance as you watched the sun setting. You weren’t really paying much attention, but nodded, reaching behind you into your tent for a sheet full of worn out and dirty clothing. You should have looked it over, but you didn’t, too caught up in your own mind. “You can ask the girls about getting it back tomorrow, they’ve been going stir crazy for things to do.”
“Yes ma’am,” you nodded, tipping your hat and leaning back against your small tent’s middle pole. You had half a mind to slide your hat over your eyes for a nap, but that didn’t seem like it would fly, especially if one of the others needed you for something.
You could definitely use a nap, you were cramping like crazy. You swore if Bill came up to you and asked for any more favors with the damn horses this week you’d kill him, but only because you were feeling grumpy.
You wanted so badly to confide in Arthur about these things, the troubles of womanhood that you couldn’t share with anyone else but him. You wondered if he would ever tell anyone, since it’s been almost five months of your residence and you have yet to reveal your secrets to everyone else. Maybe you were being paranoid, but the closer he got to Abigail and the further you pushed him away, you thought he might care less about the agreement you both made. After all, spilling your secret to Dutch would gain him loyalty points, and Dutch seemed all too happy to be giving them out since John left.
It was about an hour later when there was a shriek at the other side of camp, and many ran over to see what the trouble was.
Tilly had been sitting by her wash bin, but had pulled her hands out on account of one thing.
“What’s the matter, Tilly?” you heard Sean over your shoulder, and when you finally saw the trouble your eyes widened and you muttered a single word under your breath.
“Shit.”
“What’s shit?” Arthur’s voice was also heard beside you now, and you turned to him ever so slightly with a whisper.
“Me, I’m in deep shit.”
Tilly showed everyone the water, with some clothing swirling around, but it was all tinted red.
“I think someone’s been hurt,” she said, waving over Mrs. Grimshaw to show her the problem. “There’s blood in the water.”
You tried to casually back up slowly, hoping that it wouldn’t get traced back to you, after all, the clothing in the bin was yours, and Mrs. Grimshaw had just picked up the pile from you. You were just stupid enough to leave your monthly attire in with it, and during your monthly time, too. You were only two days into the cycle, meaning there had been a lot of blood.
Grimshaw, being the stern and impatient woman she was, rolled her sleeves up and dug around in the water, looking for clothing with holes to indicate a stab or bullet wound… but she only found:
“A sanitary apron?” She furrowed her brows. She was pretty in tune with the women of the camp, and hadn’t been aware that someone was menstruating right now.
“You better run, kid,” Arthur caught on, nudging your shoulder. You’d already started getting further away from the scene, but it seemed Grimshaw already came to a conclusion before you could make a break for it.
“I picked these up from…” she trailed, her brow now seemingly angry and strewn together in a stressful manner. She marched over to you, grabbing your lanky wrist harshly and tugging you away from the scene. “You better not be hidin’ what I think you’re hidin’!”
You held onto your hat as she practically ran you into the nearest tent. It wasn’t hers or yours but that didn’t matter, her urgency was all too apparent.
“Miss Grimshaw, what’s this all about?”
“I have had my suspicions about you since you arrived here,” she spoke intensely, pulling you forward by your belt buckle and doing her best to undo it.
“Hey, hey! What’re ya doin’?!” You tried to protest, but her nimble hands were too persistent, and she finally got your pants loose enough to take a brief peek at what she needed to see. “What the hell, would you stop?!”
“I knew it!” she yelled, a finger pointed in the air.
And just like that, you knew you were screwed.
She quickly ran out of the tent, and you tried to follow her, making a quick attempt at putting your belt back together on the way out.
Arthur ran a hand over his face when first he saw you, and the state you were in. He knew the jig was up, too.
“Where is that man when you need him?” Susan was turning every which way, a mess of herself just trying to frantically look for the camp leader.
“Dutch? He’s in town with Hosea, what’s the problem?” Bill sauntered up, dusting his hands from the work he’d paused.
Pearson and Javier all of a sudden made an appearance, and when you thought nothing could make this worse, the rest of the camp zoned in on the chaos, having had nothing better to do this whole day. It was slow, and there were no jobs to be done, so the boredom consumed minds jumped on the first sign of entertainment they could find, and boy was it something.
“We have an imposter in our midst!” She yelled, her arms waving around wildly.
“Hold on, now…” You tried to interject, but Arthur shot you a look, shaking his head. Don’t do it, kid. Just shut up.
“What do you mean an imposter?” Pearson crossed his arms. He was never one to give bad news of any kind to, because he had a tendency to blow it out of proportion. “Who?”
“That,” she pointed at you, her voice raised to the highest decibel count you knew was humanly possible. “Is not an eighteen year old boy! She has been fooling us all. Who even knows where she comes from, what her real name is!”
“What the hell are you even talking about?”
“The kid?”
“Ain’t no way…”
The rapid responses coming forward almost eased your mind, except for the fact that Susan did in fact have up close and personal proof from what she saw.
Arthur stepped forward, and as the murmurs grew louder, and Miss Grimshaw was prepared to go on another rant, he did all he could to calm the situation.
“Let’s not make any rash judgements right now,” he gave you a look, trying to let you see he was attempting to help, but that you needed to leave. “We’ll just wait until Dutch and Hosea get back.”
You took that as a cue to leave, awkwardly making way for your tent.
“Where do you think you’re going?” Susan tried to chase after you, but Arthur held her back.
“Wait for Dutch,” he said, his arm blocking her path. Who knows what she’d do in this state? She’d been known to whip some of the boys into compliance before, who knows what she’d do to someone she viewed as an imposter.
Sitting with the flaps closed, you could still hear everything that was occurring outside, and it nerved you far more than being in the middle of it all.
“It doesn’t make any sense…” and “Do you think it’s true?” could be heard from separate conversations, and you wished more than anything that you’d just done your own damn laundry.
Your face fell in your hands, and you started going over all the things that could happen. Dutch could hate you for lying to him, and kick you out, banishing you as far as you could go. Or, since you were a newbie, and didn’t have the trust factor built yet, maybe they would just shoot you dead. That may have been an extreme idea, but with your rapidly beating heart and increasing worry, things like that were bound to spill in. Not like you’d been in a gang before, you didn’t exactly get an etiquette and rule book when you arrived. Who knew what would happen to you. Nothing good, that you knew.
When Arthur finally opened the flap and leaned down inside the small dwelling, you knew it was time to face the music.
“Dutch is back, Susan’s tellin’ him everything,” he sighed, looking over your face and feeling a sense of guilt that he didn’t do anything to stop all of this. When you first arrived he thought maybe it wouldn’t be a big deal, but having experienced this much drama in just the past hour has most definitely led him to believe he was wrong.
When you stayed silent, and didn’t really give him a reaction of any kind, he could tell you were hit hard with the anxiety and shock of it all. He couldn’t ever get you to shut up, and he often didn’t want to, most of all now when you looked like a scared animal.
“I ain’t gonna let ‘em hurt ya, if that’s what you’re worried about.”
You shook your head, and against your hardest efforts, tears were backing your eyes, looking for ways to escape. He hadn’t ever seen you like this, and it wasn’t pleasant.
“I don’t wanna leave,” you admitted. You liked it here. You weren’t lonely here, and you had a family… or at least you did an hour ago. You didn’t know where you stood with half of these people.
He couldn’t speak for Dutch or Hosea, or anyone else really, but he could speak for himself.
“I don’t want you to, either…”
When Arthur heard his name called, he leaned back, looking in the direction of his father figure, looking angrier than a pack of hungry wolves.
“Yeah?”
“Tell Brooks to see me, now.”
You didn’t even need the message relayed. You stood up, and followed Arthur out of the tent, your head down as you made the distance to the center tent, the big one you’d been at only a bit ago with council from your leader. You only hoped he’d be so forgiving when he found out you lied to him.
Arthur got into the tent first, mumbling a few things you were a little distracted to hear. You did catch the small ‘don’t be too hard on her’ fall from his mouth, though.
You sat down on the box chest, close to the exit of the tent, just in case things went south and you had to run. Not that you were thinking about running, but again, a million scenarios crossed your mind.
“Arthur, wait outside.”
You grew more tense as soon as those words were uttered, and so did Arthur it would seem.
“Dutch, I think I should-”
“Wait. Outside.”
He reluctantly did as he was told, walking far enough away that he wouldn’t be reprimanded, but still in your eye-line so he could keep an eye on you. He trusted Dutch with the gang members, but if he was considering kicking you out, that made you fair game.
“I’m gonna cut to the chase,” he took a long drag of the cigar he held between his fingers, blowing the smoke out when he turned his head to the side. “You know why you’re here.”
“I reckon I do,” you answered quietly, trying to keep an ounce of confidence though your entire body felt like it would start shaking in fear.
“I could have you stripped for the whole camp to see, but for propriety’s sake I’m only going to ask you this once… is it true?” He asked, his tone less stern but still eager.
“Yes.”
He sighed, having heard the softness in your voice since you came in, he already knew. You’d never shown this side of yourself to the camp before. You were always confident, sure of yourself, cocky even. To think it was an act boiled his skin… but he wanted to take his time with this. You still had capabilities the likes he’s never seen, and if he wasn’t careful they could one day be used against him. You didn’t know about the O’Driscolls yet, and he sure as hell wouldn’t have you running off and joining them. It would be the death of the Van Der Linde gang, of that he was certain.
“I’m gonna decide what to do with you, but until then, you stay out of my sight.”
He pointed outside of the tent, and you were honestly surprised that this was the extent of his questioning. Nothing about the lies? About the history? About anything at all?
You gave him a double glance, but scurried away in fears he might change his mind and tear you to shreds on the spot. You walked hastily towards Arthur, your face gaining more color to it once you were out of the line of danger.
“You alright?” He asked, his furrowed brows reflecting his concern.
“No,” you let out with a dramatic scoff. Your flare for over exaggeration was sometimes quite amusing to him. He just dropped his head and chuckled.
“You’re fine,” he patted your shoulder before stepping past you and going to talk to Dutch. What he knows is that Susan Grimshaw spilled every nasty detail of this afternoon to the camp leader, but he also knows that he hasn’t had his say yet, and when it comes down to it, Dutch will side with his loyal enforcer over a disgruntled Miss Grimshaw.
Dutch was stretching out his arms, sore from the ride in and out of town. It was a scouting trip, really, but it was enough to make him ache when all the stress was added.
“First John leaving, now this. I can’t seem to catch a break, can I?” Dutch sighed out after his words, the toll they took on his mind caused him to shake his head of so many thoughts.
“This ain’t so bad,” Arthur began, tilting his head from side to side.
“How could you possibly think that?”
Arthur shrugged, reasoning with himself a few options before saying them out loud.
“S’not like she did any harm. Only thing that’s come of it is a bit of surprise to everyone…” he trailed, sitting across from the man he called his father figure and his friend. The tension seemed to ease up the second he neared the man, but there was more to be done to diffuse the situation, and he was all too happy to insert himself as the cause of said diffusion.
“She lied about who she is, for all we know she could be working with local law, or worse, the pinkertons.”
Dutch’s raised concerns nearly made Arthur chuckle. When you first got here, facade or not, you were still just lost and looking for somewhere to call home. There were never any motives behind your gang participation other than needing a family.
“We haven’t had them on our trail in ages. Coming here, we finally put a stop to their sniffin’ around. Besides, she’s been the reason for our successful jobs lately… she’s been loyal enough to save my life despite our differences.”
“But she lied to us,” Dutch kept driving his point. A liar’s a liar, and they lie about other things.
“She’s a scared kid, Dutch. She just wants a place to be,” Arthur defended, his arguments becoming more close and personal, which led Dutch to connect some other dots.
He sighed, looking at Arthur and coming to an understanding of what he knew were past events.
“You knew, didn’t you?”
Arthur dropped his head into a subtle nod, not yet meeting Dutch’s eyes for his fear of a bad reaction.
“Since the week she got here.”
Dutch had to laugh, because of course he did. Arthur was more in tune with the members of camp than he could ever be, and more than they could be with each other. He was like Hosea that way, his ability to connect and grow relationships with others was just a natural gift. He often thought it stemmed from Arthur’s great love of the unknown, and his endless curiosity.
“How’d you figure it out?”
“I didn’t, until I found some uh… rather feminine items in her saddle bag. She fessed up pretty quickly to me,” Arthur scratched the back of his neck, his nerves settling when he knew he wouldn’t be in any trouble.
“Well,” Dutch started, coming to the edge of his open tent, looking for the troubled recruit among the busy movement of the camp. “We’ve taken in much worse, and it’s always been in our favor. And you’re right… She's just a scared kid. A scared kid with the quickest hands I’ve ever seen.”
There was a moment, and then Arthur smiled.
“So… She’s free n’ clear?” He asked, his tone hopeful, which Dutch noticed. Perhaps Red had made amends after all, and just as Dutch promised, Arthur was in her corner. This wasn’t her time of need, per se, but he knew she would have him when it arrived.
“I suppose so, although… I’m not going to be responsible for the court of public opinion,” he gestured to everyone in the camp, frantically working around just to keep themselves busy. With all the chaos going on, it’s the only thing they can do not to sit and gossip, which they do anyway.
“I reckon I better keep her away from Susan?”
“With a ten foot pole, preferably,” Dutch rolled his eyes. That woman was full of determination, and it could be both a great strength, as well as her worst weakness.
Arthur smiled, ready to go make good on a promise he’d been waiting on for some time. “I’ll catch you later then.”
“Alright, Arthur.”
-
You didn’t know if Arthur’s conversation with Dutch would benefit you or condemn you, but you didn’t stick around to find out. He’d found you saddling your horse, just in case a hasty escape needed to be made. Yes, perhaps your delusions were getting a bit out of hand.
“Where you goin’?”
“Depends,” you started, “How mad is he?”
Arthur huffed and grabbed your wrist, stilling your movements. “He ain’t mad.”
“No?” You could hardly believe it. “He seemed riled up to me.”
“I talked to him,” he explained, but gave no further intel.
“You got magic words or somethin’?” You chuckled, slightly more relaxed since the news came better than you hoped, and Arthur wasn’t dragging you back to be punished or anything. “What’d you tell him?”
“That you were gonna be loyal… and that you’d been scared.”
You scoffed, rolling your eyes, trying to play off his last words like they weren’t true. “I ain’t scared.”
“Really? You were about to run, weren’t you?” He pointed to your full saddle bag and stocked up horse, ready to disappear at a moment’s notice.
You caved.
“He gave me a little fright is all,” you toed your boot into the dirt as you spoke, looking back up to find him nodding at your horse.
It was just a joke, but he was getting tired of the overly dramatic interactions. He wasn’t sure what all transpired in your past, albeit knowing more than everyone else… even still, he figured there had to be something that gave you your theatrical touch.
“Knock it off, would ya?”
“Sorry.”
The ride wasn’t long, but the sun was down when you both tied your horses to the poll in front of the general store. You’d been in here a few times, and the man behind the counter always cowered in fear of Texas Red the unkillable. No matter your manners or gentility, that’s just how it was.
“What’re we doin’ here?” You adjusted your hat, wiping some sweat off your forehead and following him up the front steps.
“I remember sayin’ I’d get you a dress a while back, we’re here to make good on it.”
You stopped in your tracks, a wide smile blossoming on your face when you heard him say it. He’d remembered, and been waiting for it since the night he uttered the words.
He noticed you weren’t close behind him, and turned, catching the sweet expression you wore, but brushing it off with a sideways smile.
“C’mon now, gotta pick it out.”
You followed after him, and once inside, the man behind the counter seemed to be nervous, as usual. He didn’t seem to be weary of having you both in, just a bit anxious. Arthur knew his presence held power, but he figured with your reputation in this town, and others around… your presence was bound to hold more.
“What can I do for you? Need more socks?” The man asked you kindly, and you shook your head, a small laugh escaping you.
“No, we’re uh… we’re here to get a dress for my wife,” Arthur spoke evenly, his confidence showing through when he had to put on a show.
Your head snapped to him, and though you knew he was intending to buy the dress for you, a thought sprang into your mind. Abigail. She was going to be his wife.
This sweet little moment, with Arthur keeping his promise, and making a big to-do over your acceptance into camp, was all part of your own little fantasy. It wouldn’t last, and when you returned to camp, he’d be with her again, helping with Jack. You tried to shake the thought from your mind, wanting to enjoy this sliver of time with him.
“Of course! I’ve got a new selection,” he pulled out the catalog, and opened the pages to a section with different types of skirts, petticoats, chemises, and corsets. All were beautiful, but your eye was drawn to a more simple style. It was a work dress, which would be far more practical for you than any of the other ones.
“I’m not too good with all this. What do you think, Red? Which one would she like best?” He tossed you a smirk, leaning his elbow on the counter while he let you browse over the pages a bit longer, turning them over with a furrowed brow of focus.
“What color does this one come in?” You asked the man over the counter, keeping your act up, but letting your hints of excitement show through.
“That one is a nice pale blue, perfect for spring and summer time,” he spoke firmly, becoming more relaxed the longer you both were in the store. Yes, he’d heard the whispers, and for you, he’d actually seen your acts of a quick trigger. But here, you didn’t seem like a threat, so he stopped acting like you were.
“Blue, huh… Might bring out her eyes a bit, hey Arthur?” Now it was your turn to smirk, and he chuckled, nodding back to you and tapping the page twice with a heavy finger.
“You’re right it would, make em’ look like crystal,” he played along, making you blush under the brim of your hat, unbeknownst to the man behind the counter.
“It’s gotta be that one, then.”
Arthur chuckled, counting out the cash that the dress price was listed under, tossing it down on the counter and nodding to the man.
“You heard the kid, we’ll take that one,” he spoke in a playful tone, ignoring the movements of the man as he scurried to the back rooms, getting your dress pieces together.
Arthur lifted the brim of your hat, and smiled genuinely at the look on your face. It was excited, sweet, and grateful. He wanted to buy you the entire stock of the store just to ensure that look stayed on your face, no matter the irrationality of it. He’d become quite accustomed to giving you his time and his efforts, and this was no different. The only difference is that now he wanted to, wholeheartedly. The deal you’d struck with him, the one where you were going to teach him your methods of shooting faster, were now null and void. He didn’t want to take anything from you, he just wanted to give.
When the store worker returned with a large box in hand, Arthur thanked him for his time, carrying the thing over his shoulder and heading for the door, which you opened for him.
Getting outside, you went for the horses, but he stopped you with a swat of your hand away from the reins.
“Can’t go back yet, gotta see how this looks on ya,” he insisted, nodding for you to follow him yet again. He walked for a bit before coming up on the shed with a small lantern inside. It looked like it only housed tools and ropes and things of the like, but there was space enough to change in. “Came across this when I was out one day. Took a whole nap before someone realized I was in here.”
“How convenient,” you teased, taking the box from his hands and eagerly walking into the confined space.
“I’ll be out here,” he mumbled as you shut the door, putting a shovel against it since it didn’t really even close all the way.
You knew he wasn’t the peeping type, so you began tearing away at your clothes, the ones that had been worn completely through by now and needed replacing anyway. You had more back at camp, but you had always missed dresses. This would be the first of many you would probably buy for yourself, but it was going to remain your favorite, because of who it came from.
It was just like clock work, muscle memory helping you to remember all the little ties and snaps that needed to be in place, the corset laces that needed to be pulled enough to fit the outer fabrics. You knew you probably needed a good hair brushing and face washing to actually look like a young woman again, but for now, the dress was doing wonders on your self esteem… or at least it did until you realized you couldn’t finish putting it on by yourself. The buttons on the back went up higher than your shoulder blades, and sat in a near impossible spot to reach. If there was a mirror, you could probably just contort yourself enough to get it together, but in a dark, barely lit tool shed, your options were limited.
You sighed, pulling the shovel away from the door and peaking your head outside. Arthur had nearly gone through an entire cigarette in the time you took to change.
“Arthur?” You asked timidly.
“M’here, you alright?”
“I can’t reach the back,” you admitted, just slightly embarrassed. “Can you give me a hand?”
He was all too happy to comply, stomping out the cigarette on the ground and taking quick steps to reach you. “Turn around.”
You did as he told you, turning so he had access to the open back of the dress. He couldn’t see you all too well in this light, but even from what he could see, a few words entered his mind from a past conversation you had with him.
I used to be quite the stunner… and he surely believed it.
His fingers caressed the exposed skin of your back before buttoning the fabric closed, smoothing it down over your shoulders and watching the way it fit you perfectly.
“Don’t mention this to Abigail,” you joked, turning back around and trying to keep the mood light. It was beginning to feel too intimate, and you knew you couldn’t allow yourself to feel that way with Arthur anymore.
“Why?”
“Well, I might be a bit old fashioned, but isn’t it frowned upon for a taken man to be helping another woman with her dress?”
It was just another joke, but he seemed to be completely thrown off by the implications.
“I ain’t a taken man,” he confessed, looking at you with a stare that was all too deep, and all too consuming. He needed to stop that, but you didn’t have the heart to make him.
“Not yet,” you corrected, but again it was you in the wrong.
“No,” he shook his head, trying to bring a serious tone to the conversation. “I’m not gonna marry Abigail.”
Your face screwed up in confusion, thinking about all the times when he collapsed in her tent with Jack, just to get up and help him in the night. He was Jack’s new father, wasn’t he? That was the deal he made.
“Why not? I thought that you were- well since you were helping with Jack and… what about your deal?”
“I said I was gonna do right by this boy, and I am… But Abigail won’t have me,” he shrugged, admitting to the rejection she gave of his offer. “She’s still in love with John, n’ I can understand it.”
It should have made you feel a bit of sadness, to know that even with all that Arthur was, someone would turn him away like that. ‘Abigial won’t have me’ sounded like perhaps he thought himself not good enough, just as he always does. Despite all of this, you didn’t feel sorrow, you felt an abundance of joy. A wide smile spread across your cheeks, and he furrowed his brow.
“What’re you smilin’ about?”
“Nothing,” you dropped the smile and shook it off, running a hand up his arm and giving it a sincere squeeze. “I’m sorry, Arthur. I know you’ve meant well.”
“S’alright. Hosea’s been tellin’ me since Jack was born that I shouldn’t have offered. He doesn’t think we’re right for one another, somethin’ like that.”
“I agree, you’re not right for each other,” you spoke out loud, though that thought was meant only for your head.
Arthur seemed to be catching on slightly to your behavior, stepping a bit closer and staring downwards at you.
“Yeah? And who am I right for?” He teased, watching the redness of your cheeks spread down your neck and shoulders with every breath you took.
“I guess we’ll just have to wait and find out,” you did your best to counter his taunts, stepping away from him and going to collect your old clothes from the shed. Once they were in hand you turned back to the opening of the alley, making way for the horses. “You coming?”
And of course, he followed, shaking his head and chuckling under his breath.
-
The next day fared better than you thought it would, if you’re being honest.
You didn’t really know why, if Dutch had said anything, or if Hosea did, but after you returned to camp the previous night, everyone seemed to be acting just fine. They treated you differently for sure, but not badly. In fact, you noticed the men had a certain kind of reverence to you that they never held before. The same they did with the other women.
Maybe it was just the beautiful dress that Arthur bought for you, the light and pure color of it giving you a sense of being ethereal, having finally exposed the raw feminine beauty that was hiding for so long. You reckon you’d even start growing out your hair again, as the short style coming to your chin was not how you preferred to have it in the first place.
You still went to work doing the same tasks you normally did, but were careful not to rip your dress or over-exert yourself, given you were still in the same physical condition as the day before.
“Charl- I mean, Miss Brooks?”
You heard a voice chirp softly from beside you, and you dropped the wagon supplies for now to walk over to the owner of said voice, Tilly.
“Yes, Miss Tilly?” You extended a smile, and she smiled back, albeit a tight and awkward one from where she was sitting. You took a step or two closer, and she had to shake her head after getting a better look at you.
“I just-” she cut herself short on account of the words already jumbling in her head. “I don’t want there to be any awkwardness between us.”
You furrowed your brow to her, unsure of what she could have possibly meant.
“Why would there be?”
“Well, if you can recall,” she started, a nervous chuckle in her speech. “I tried to make some… advances towards you. Back when I thought you were uh… a young man.”
You smiled again and ducked your head, a scoff of laughter and a nod of your head brought about less tension. It was no big deal.
“Don’t worry yourself, Miss Tilly. I was the one who tricked ya, I oughta be apologizing. Probably should to Abigail, too.”
“Abigail?”
You tilted your head, recalling the scene. About two weeks before Jack was born. You’d done the same thing Arthur did, with not a care of revealing yourself in the future.
“Before John even left, I offered her to be Jack’s ‘father’ when he was born. I guess I was pretty certain at the time no one was gonna find out,” you explained, leaning against the wagon she sat by, mending a shirt that looked like Arthur’s. You could tell by the wear and tear around the shoulders, where his broadness likely just caused the fabric to break down faster.
“Could you really have gone on like that?”
“I don’t know,” you pondered, another small laugh escaping you. “Maybe not, since I had to tell everyone I was eighteen just for them to believe it.”
“You aren’t eighteen?” She seemed surprised. Maybe you just had a young face.
“No, ma’am. Twenty two nearing twenty three as a matter of fact.”
“I’ll say,” she tutted, throwing down the shirt she was finished with, and picking up a new one. “You had us all convinced. Makes me wonder where you really came from.”
You thought about telling her, but the story was long and today was a busier day than before. There was actual work to be done in preparing for the next job, a few days ahead.
“Some place I didn’t wanna be,” you chided, stepping away from the wagon, nodding to her in thanks for the small chat. “I’ll let you get back to it.”
“Alright. I’ll catch you around,” she spoke sweetly, a kind look of relaxation on her face, now that she knew where she stood.
You went back to work, making sure that neither Dutch nor Hosea saw you with idle hands today. You wanted to make sure that no matter what happened now, you wouldn’t be cast aside. You still had the abilities they needed, but with a skirt on your hips, they saw you differently, and it was up to you to show them you were not going to be ignored when it came to jobs in the future.
You hated that the rest of the women in camp were just seen as stationary helpers, only capable of mending clothes or cleaning up the camp, or even just laying the groundwork in town for the men to actually pull jobs. You’ve seen Abigail in action, she was smart and cunning and had a great way with words, she could be the difference in things staying civil or having a shoot out during a quiet robbery, but the men overlook her gifts. You know the women in this camp have great potential, and perhaps if they let you continue as you have been, they will open the opportunities for the others as well.

Rong Yan: Oh, really?
Jiang Cheng: It’s a shame however... If your skin was a bit paler, it would look even better.
Rong Yan: Eh…? I didn’t realize Jiang-zongzhu was so knowledgeable about fashion.
Jiang Cheng: Oh, I’m just making a casual observation. Mn? What’s that smell? Do you smell it?
Rong Yan: Ah, what?
Jiang Cheng: It smells like a mix of flower pollens. It’s like a poisonous gas. Eh? It seems like it’s coming from your direction--
Rong Yan: Ah, my clothes are often perfumed. You don't seem to be used to the scent, Jiang-zongzhu.
Jiang Cheng: Oh, so that’s why. You’re right, I’m not used to it.

Jiang Cheng: Of course I didn’t. I spoke properly the whole time and gave her some suggestions. She didn't listen, not understanding what's good for her and left. Hmph, not even a thanks.
Aunt Yu: This is already the third time! Don’t you know there’s no one left who wants to matchmake for you?! Finally, there came a Miss Rong who was interested in you. She put on such make-up! She took this so seriously! I had such high hopes for this meeting! And in the end?! You angered and drove her away! Aiya, you’ll be the death of me! If you want to be like this, then just stay single forever!
Jiang Cheng: Hmph, as if I care!

Puppy Interview~ Drew Starkey
Summary: Literally one of the best interview ways to ever be created
This had to be the best day of your life. You were a huge fan of the Buzzfeed Puppy Interviews so of course you were on board when they mentioned you guys doing it. You guys were doing it in groups; you, Drew, Maddy, and Austin in one and then Madison, Cleo, JD, and Chase in the other.
“I’m Y/N”
“I’m Drew Starkey.”
“I’m Madelyn Cline.”
“And I’m Austin North.”
“And we’re the cast of Outer Banks-” You started but Madelyn cut you off, too excited to hold it in, “And this is the best day of my life.”
Everyone let out a laugh at the blonde but you were all as equally excited but you guys were all better at hiding it.
“Spoiler alert, if you haven’t watched the season, go do that and then come back!” Austin warned and you all agreed.
The season had only been out for a few days and you knew not everyone would have had a chance to either watch it or finish it and you knew the questions would be about this season and didn’t want to have it spoiled for anyone.
“Bring in the puppies!” You exclaimed, clapping your hands in excitement. You all sat anxiously, waiting for them to bring in the puppies. You let out a gasp as a little tan husky made its way over to you, “Hi, baby!”
You held out your hand for it so smell and laughed when it started nibbling on your fingers, “Oh, I’m not doing anything for this interview.”
Drew had immediately been swarmed when he laid down as the puppies all decided to attack him. You held the little puppy against your chest as you used your hand to wave his paw at Drew, “Who knew it only took 5 puppies to take down a 6’0 man?”
The group let out a laugh before the first question was pulled up.
‘What was it like filming on location for all of the ‘Poguelandia’ scenes in season 3?’
“I barely have an attention span so this is going to be impossible,” you started, “I will say, it was surreal to be able to go to Barbados. If you had told me even when the show started that we would be traveling to the beautiful Barbados, I probably would have laughed.”
Drew could tell your attention was slipping away from the question and answered, “We got to film in Barbados- the beautiful country of Barbados, the people there are so welcoming and it’s-gorgeous, ohhh.” His attention immediately disappeared as a black Labrador hopped in his lap. He could make fun of you all he wanted but he easily got just as distracted as you by puppies.
“I will say, I’m upset that my time in Barbados on-set was spent inside of a house rather than being outside like the Pogues.”
‘What was your favorite behind-the-scenes memory from filming season 3 of Outer Banks?’
“It felt like we show two seasons, the one they shot in Barbados and the one we all shot in Charleston and they’re all just gonna merge into one.” Austin explained, playing with a husky.
Whoever decided they were all mature enough to do this interview, clearly underestimated them. This was going to take forever to get through.
“I liked the fact that we kept the ‘where’s y/n’ group chat going.” Maddy laughed as they all agreed. You held the puppy up in front of you as you talked to it in a baby voice, “They’re so mean, aren’t they?”
‘What has been your favorite plot twist on Outer Banks so far? *Spoiler Alert!*
“My father faking his suicide.” Madelyn answered
“It was pretty gnarly…Rafe’s haircut.” Austin said as Drew agreed, “It’s pretty bug.”
“Uh…the fact that Big John was actually alive still completely blew my mind.” You answered, leaning back as they puppy walked across your chest. Drew leaned over and pulled down your skirt, to make sure nothing was showing. You sent him a grateful smile but quickly pouted when the husky walked over to him.
‘What’s a role people would be surprised to find out you auditioned for, but didn’t get?’
“I auditioned for John b, unsurprisingly did not get it.” Drew answered, while petting the husky that was beginning to fall asleep in his lap. Another puppy had taken it upon himself to come over and plop down in your lap while playing with a toy as you answered, “I actually got a roll in ‘After We Collided’ but turned it down after I booked Outer Banks.”
“Wait, you turned it down?” Maddy asked, leaning forward to look at you, “Why? That would have been amazing?”
You shrugged, turning your attention to the puppy, “I had to figure out which one I would have enjoyed doing more and I made the right choice.”
‘Who’s the most famous person who has DM’d you?’
You all let out a laugh before the awkward silence happened. None of you wanted to answer this question. Not wanting to betray anyone’s trust.
“Amanda Seyfried messaged me,” Madelyn laughed, “I was actually pretty excited about that.”
“Uh…Selena Gomez messaged me to tell me how much of a fan of the show she was and I almost peed myself from how starstruck I was.” You answered, “but that’s all I’m saying.”
“Um…Y/N L/N DM’d me once,” Drew grinned, looking over at you, trying not to move as much because the husky was sleeping on his legs, “changed my life.”
‘If you could have any other actor make a cameo on Outer Banks, who would it be?’
“Danny Devito.” Madelyn picked
“The Rock.”
“Elizabeth Olsen or Sophie Turner.” You gushed and everyone let out a laugh, “I love both of them with my whole heart.”
Drew patted your knee with a laugh, “We know, baby. We know.”
You rolled your eyes as you pushed his hand off of your leg, “Says the one in love with Pedro Pascal.”
‘If you could play any other Outer Banks character besides your own, who would you wanted to play?’
“I’d play Shoupe.” Maddy answered with no hesitation as you snapped your fingers at her, “I’ve always wanted to know what it’s like to have a mustache. But, I think I’d like to be either John B or Rose.”
“Those are two very different characters.” Austin pointed out with a laugh as Drew and Maddy agreed, “John B always has something going on and I just wanna be apart of that thought process, ya know? And Rose? She just sits at home and drinks all day. The epitome of a housewife.”
‘Have your real-life friendships influenced the characters at all, especially now after three seasons together?’
“I think it’s obvious that Drew, Austin, and I are very different from our characters,” You started, “but I think after working together for three years, we’ve all kind of found a way to bring our characters to a bond because clearly, our characters would do anything for each other and I think all of us would do anything for each other, even robbing a train if it came down to it.”
“As JJ said, ‘Like they’re going to think a guy wearing flip flops is involved in a robbery’” Austin spoke causing you all to laugh. The puppy nipped at your fingers, drawing your attention down to it. You pouted your lip out at the puppy before turning to look at Drew, who was focused on the still sleeping husky in his lap, “Can’t we just take him home?”
Drew shook his head at you as you held the dog out to him, speaking for the dog, “Please, take me home. I’m potty trained and everything.” You popped your head out from behind the puppy as Austin and Maddy laughed at the two of you. You had been trying to convince Drew for over a year to get another dog but he wasn’t budging, “We already have a dog, buddy.”
“Party pooper.” You mumbled, placing the dog back in your lap
‘Y/N, what was like for Y/C/N to finally realize Rafe was as bad as everyone said he was?’
“Uh, first off, rude.” Drew held up one of his fingers before looking over at you, “And two, how you answer this, depends on if we get another dog.”
Narrowing your eyes at him, you spoke up, “It was a little hard at first. Y/C/N was very oblivious to what Rafe was doing at the start but I think this season, she finally came to realize that he stopped caring about their relationship a long time ago. You can definitely tell she struggled a lot with trying to figure out if she should just stay on the sidelines like she always did or if she should break up with him.”
“I was more surprised with the writers having Y/C/N turn on Rafe,” Maddy added, “I think that was also one of the biggest plot twists none of us saw coming.”
‘What’s the last show you binge watched?’
“Game of thrones.” Maddy quietly spoke, playing with the dog laying in front of her
“Love Island. Madison and I started watching it together,” you started but Drew cut you off quietly, “I haven’t seen it yet.”
You looked at him in confusion, “When-you’re never at our apartment when Madison and I watch it.”
“Becauuse I don’t want to impose on girls night.” He told you, causing you to giggle, “and yet you always somehow do, don’t you?”

I feel like the first "I forgive you" and the second "I forgive you" are different "I-forgive-yous" (or maybe not)
What else "I forgive you" may mean (one year later) — Good Omens Season 1 and 2 parallel
Ok, I know I'm 1 year late to the party and I don't know if this has already been pointed out, but it came across my mind like a lightning this morning, and now I just can't stop thinking about it. We know there are lots of parallel scenes through GO Season 1 and 2, and that we have two "I forgive you" moments. The first "I forgive you" makes utterly sense: Crowley just offended Aziraphale, and he replies with "I forgive you" (despite the demon had said just a few scenes before "Unforgivable is what I am").
The "I forgive you" in S2 left us all stuck in despair, trying to figure out why Aziraphale would have to say that just after their 6000-year-long awaited kiss.
First of all, I want to make clear that I believe this answer is totally in-character: I forgive you for kissing me while leaving me on my own when I most needed you, I forgive you for not believing that we can make a difference together, I forgive you because you are not unforgivable and I'm not giving up on you, I forgive you because forgiveness is love, it's a gift—"forgive" literally translates the Latin verb "perdonare" (per=for + donare=give) and also means "to give without conditions"... and the list goes on and on. I recommend this @sendarya's analysis which I found really accurate and on point, check it out if you haven't already: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NOvv0GkMBA8&t=34s
Nevertheless, there may be a second layer of meaning. Let's go back to S1 for a moment. Aziraphale finds the Antichrist, but he chooses not to tell Crowley during the bandstand scene: he wants to sort it out on his own. Later, when Crowley comes to the bookshop to apologize, he just tells him that he wants to talk to God to thwart Apocalypse, which triggers Crowley's "You're so clever! How can someone as clever as you be so stupid?". So let's recap what happens: 1) Aziraphale knows something he isn't telling Crowley and has a plan; 2) Crowley offers Aziraphale to go off together, but Aziraphale refuses because he wants to save Earth; 3) Crowley offends Aziraphale: "How can someone as clever as you be so stupid?"; 4) Aziraphale says "I forgive you"; 5) Crowley leaves (let alone calling Aziraphale again 5 minutes later).
Later, after discorporating and failing in his attempt to reach God, Aziraphale realizes that the only way to thwart Apocalypse is "our side", so he appears to a drunk and devastated Crowley to reveal him that the Antichrist is in Tadfield, and they arrange to meet there. We may assume that, after the Armageddon't, they talked of what happened, and Aziraphale may have told Crowley that he already knew where the boy was during the bandstand meeting; anyway, Crowley saw Aziraphale acting mysteriously and keeping his secrets: he said he wanted to talk with God to sort things out, but nothing more. Crowley knew that there was something his angel wasn't telling him, and that he had a plan. Now let's see what happens in S2: 1) Aziraphale knows something he isn't telling Crowley (he doesn't reveal Metatron's threats) and (hopefully) has a plan; 2) Crowley offers Aziraphale to go off together, but Aziraphale refuses because he wants to "make a difference"; 3) Crowley hurts Aziraphale: "No Nightingales. You idiot. We could have been us" (+ bonus, devastating kiss); 4) Aziraphale says "I forgive you"; 5) Crowley leaves the bookshop... but he just waits across the street, until Aziraphale takes the lift with the Metatron.
Ok, nice parallel so far. But what am I trying to say with that? I think that perhaps—just as "Trust me"—"I forgive you" may have come to acquire a second, coded meaning: "There's something I'm not telling you, but I have a plan". One more, desperate attempt of our angel to tell something to his demon without anyone else noticing, as he knows that the Metatron is watching. Crowley waiting by the Bentley is a way to show his angel he's not giving up on him, but maybe also to let him know he got his message.
So, do what you want with this, now I can go on with my day despite the brainrot (maybe).

No, Benedict, love IS finite and it begins and ends with Sophie Beckett
It's a matter of time before we get s4 Benophie announcement. I have so many posts planned, but I need to be 100% sure that Sophie will be Sophie before posting them.
Meanwhile, I want to discuss Benedict's line "love is NOT finite."
This is an example of how advice may only apply to certain people in specific circumstances. Luke Thompson explained it perfectly:
Eloise needed to hear this to understand that marriage wouldn't take Colin and Pen away from her.
However, the way he understands it has a totally different meaning. He takes his advice for himself to go and have a threesome with Tilley and Paul. Luke Thompson talked about it and said:
Good for him! But the thing is that the love Ben offers is still quite superficial. Like, yes, let him experiment and be free, but what Tilley tells him is that eventually, it gets tiring. And this is not even about monogamy. If both Paul and Tilley had asked him for exclusivity, he would have still rejected them. Benedict has deep commitment issues because he has never needed to commit to anything or anyone.
For him, the "love is not finite" will bring more problems than solutions.
The way I think it's going to go is:
Ben will meet the LIS, remember what Tilley taught him, and want to commit. But she will disappear.
Then he meets Sophie as a maid and he thinks he can marry the LIS AND keep Sophie as a mistress.
He will think that he has room enough for both of them, that he can love them both and won't have to choose and lose his freedom.
Sophie doesn't think the same. For her, love begins and ends with Benedict. That's it, there's no one else. So, if she can't have him fully, she would rather let him go (I have a post planned about this because Sophie is a queen of self-respect and self-love).
Moreover, he is the one getting multiple partners. I may be wrong, but book!Benedict never thinks of the possibility that the LIS found love elsewhere. And he never talks about letting Sophie be the mistress of other men. Mistresses could leave if they got a better offer, so how is Benedict so sure that it won't happen with Sophie.
Not to mention that his arrangement with Sophie and his wife will not be in equal positions. One is a wife, the other a mistress, a dirty secret kept hidden.
In AOFAG, Ben says this:
Remember what Tilley told him?
It's all fun until you develop feelings and suddenly, you want that person just for yourself.
I know I KNOW we're tired of love triangles, but frankly, Shonda loves them and Benophie might be the season where a bit of competition can do good.
Of course, there may be the LIS-Ben-Sophie triangle. But I want to give a mini heart attack to Ben when someone else shows interest in Sophie.
I don't want Sophie to have feelings for anyone else, THAT will upset me. But think of a moment when a vendor or a solicitor goes to No. 5 and sees Sophie, maybe even one of the footmen. He's taken by her beauty and Hyacinth notices. And since Hyacinth can't keep anything to herself, she brings it up during dinner or tea time and Ben goes pale.
And that's where he's going to understand what Tilley felt when she saw him with Paul.
I would even include a scene where LW or the family discusses Benedict dancing with some lady during a ball, Sophie hears and Ben teases her. Sophie's jealousy elevates his ego, but once he learns other men are looking at her, that will make him empathize with her.

Vaggie is my favorite character, so I want to know where all of this hate for her came from. Like…people hate Vaggie yet love Lute, for example….. wtf? How? And I’m not saying people have to like the same things I do, but I’ve seen mfs bash Vaggie for things other characters have done. Again… what? The? Fuck?
Oh hohoho
I'm in a ranting mood, so let me tell you exactly why by paraphrasing some of the hate posts I've seen classlessly left in the chaggie tag before I blocked the OP's for said posts
"Vaggie has nothing going for her character. All she is, is Charlie's girlfriend"
- not even remotely true. She has a lot going on with her character aside from being The Girlfriend. She struggles with deep self-hatred, something that doesn't necessarily revolve around Charlie, although it does affect her relationship with her(codependency). It's a huge character flaw, though not necessarily bad character writing. It's something she needs to grow from, and something we can still see unfold in the coming seasons. Although she's helping with the hotel to be a supportive girlfriend, it is also something Vaggie believes to be the right thing to do regardless of Charlie. As Rosie inferred, Vaggie saw helping with the hotel as a way to atone for her sins and to do better. Even if the person running the Hotel weren't Charlie or anyone she fell for, I believe it's something she still would have helped with given her backstory. She has connections with other characters too that can be explored more in the future. Aside from just being "Charlie's girlfriend", she is Carmilla's possible additional daughter figure, she is Alastor's biggest obstacle in gaining whatever tf from Charlie, she is Lute's rival, and finally she is Lucifer's blatant parallel.
"Being a fallen angel is the only thing carrying her character. And we barely got any build up on that."
- let's say that's true. IF that's the case, why isn't anyone spitting hate on characters like Husk whose only "thing" is being a past overlord? Even though this had less foreshadowing than Vaggie's angel secret? Even though his only purpose in the story so far is to be Angel's love interest? He may be an alcoholic, but it's barely touched upon what terrible effects that may have for him. And although having his soul owned by Alastor sucks, does he actually suffer aside from that one time Alastor threatened his life? All Alastor is making him do is man the bar(so far). He has nothing to develop from with his character either. In fact, aside from the swearing and the grumpiness, he's a pretty swell guy who doesn't seem to fit in hell. He doesnt have a flaw that the story can aim to have him improve from. All he has going for him is his romance arc with Angel, and his past as an Overlord. Which, i repeat, isn't a bad thing! But how come Vaggie would get so much hate for similar criticisms, while Husk is widely loved by majority of the fandom?
"She doesn't have any chemistry with Charlie"
- something told by someone who ships:
Ch*rl*stor - two people who have only had direct interactions in the pilot(a quick dance number), episode 5(Alastor taking advantage of Charlie's daddy issues to curry favor with her and hit Lucifer's ego), and ep 7 (Alastor taking advantage of Charlie's dejection to make a deal with Charlie). A ship involving the kindest soul in Hell and a serial killer who has no desire to change and ridicules the dream Charlie holds so dear and is so passionate about. It isn't a bad thing to crack ship. Hell I do it too, but it's such a hypocritical thing to say that a canon ship has no chemistry only to claim that two people who have barely any meaningful conversations and positive interactions objectively look more like a couple and would be a better choice to be canon. Just because you like how they look in your imagination doesn't mean canon is objectively bad.
Ch*rlie/Emily - two characters who share so much similarities they can be sisters. It is such a personal thing. I have nothing against those who ship them. It just isn't for me because of the amount of similarities they have. With the intentional parallels, I personally think Emily would be better off having a gf that resembles Vaggie. Where Chaggie has a sunshine demon X grumpy angel duo, Emily could visit hell and fall for a demon who would be her opposite.
Ch*rlie/Lucifer - it's. Incest. Cmon.
"She doesn't care about the denizens of Hell"
- Vaggie's in Hell in the first place because she spared a demon's life. She cares TOO MUCH!
"Vaggie lied to Charlie. Even Adam was more honest with her!"
- I dont even... It should be common sense why Vaggie, who had just been betrayed by ANGELS, would not trust a demon princess with her true identity. Charlie and Rosie already talked about this. Or did they have their eyes and ears closed throughout episode 7?
"She ruined Lucifer's song by reprising it. Why would she do that when it's supposed to be Charlie and Lucifer's thing?? Why would she go and use a song about familial love and change the meaning to romance??"
- musicals that reprise songs to change its initial vibe has always been a thing, first of all. Vaggie reprised Lucifer's song specifically because they have been parallels of each other for the whole show. In fact, Lucifer indirectly echoes back Vaggie's reprise, with his lyrics in The Finale mirroring Vaggie's lyrics. It's not about Vaggie "stealing Lucifer's thing", it's about these two angels who both love Charlie reminding her of that love and how much they believe in her, despite being withheld of Heaven's love and losing faith in it in the process. It's about these two forms of love withstanding Heaven's abandonment and being there for someone who wants to face Heaven head on.
This is probably one of the most ridiculous anti-Vaggie criticism I've read. It's so weird to see such an earnest act of love as something audacious. If anything, Lucifer's the one with the audacity. I love him a LOT, but he did not deserve to be forgiven just because he had a beautiful song number with his daughter. It doesn't change the fact that he neglected Charlie for ages. If anyone deserved to sing More Than Anything, it was Vaggie because she has truly shown her commitment to Charlie. But, yunno. Baby steps.
Honestly for a lot of the characters in this show, all it seems to take for the fandom to like them is to have a song number that they like. People find Vaggie's songs boring. So they find her boring. Not a lot is known or shown of characters like Vox, Velvette, Alastor, and Husk, but apparently they're better developed. Just because they have sick song numbers doesn't mean they're better developed...

Abandoned
Tea Type: Milk Tea
Potential Triggers: Struggling with eating in an anorexic manner as well as intentional sleep deprivation and self care in general.
Pairing: Daryl/F! Reader (Can be read platonic)
Length: 2.4k+
Summary: Daryl leaves, and by the time he comes home you've completely stopped taking care of yourself, much to his upset. He comforts and helps you get back on the right track.
A/N: Me? Writing more self-indulgent comfort about struggling with eating, sleep and self care? It’s more likely than you think! Also maybe I’ve binged nearly 3 whole seasons of The Walking Dead and fell in love with Daryl again. That probably didn’t help. This is just pure fluff and hurt/comfort!
When Rick and the others returned, your eyes scanned them all instinctively for injuries and when you didn’t see him, you swallowed hard.
“…Where is he?”
Your voice cracked as you looked to Carol and she gave you a watery smile of her own.
“He left. Found Merle and made his choice.”
Her voice was gentle and understanding but all you felt was abandoned and cold and angry. A rare emotion for you to feel at your family. When she went to move forward and put a hand on your shoulder you cringed and hugged yourself instead.
Your heart-broken gaze moved to Rick.
“No. You-you just let him leave?! How could you?”
“We didn’t have a choice. He was gonna bring Merle back-”
“So you just abandoned him?! Let him leave? After everything we’ve been through? Everything he’s done for us?!”
Tears streamed freely down both cheeks and you moved to storm out of the metal gates when Glenn stopped you with a hand on your upper arm.
“Where do you think you’re going?”
You roughly pulled away and leveled a glare his way.
“Get off me! You all might be fine with abandoning him to die with his brother, just the two of them out there, but I’m not. I’d rather take my chances with someone I know will be loyal.”
You whirled to look at the whole group, angrily wiping away your tears.
“Y'know what? Merle was a dick. He was rude, and crass and didn’t care about anyone but his brother. He could be monstrous and I’m not negating that. But don’t forget that Daryl was different too in the beginning, before we gave him the chance to change. And even if Merle didn’t- even if he was still a jerk who put himself before others- I trust Daryl enough to adapt and be loyal to us both. To try and help his brother change. I thought you all would too.”
When you moved to the gate you frowned as Carol blocked the way glare weakening to upset.
“…Please, move Carol. I have to do this.”
“Do what? Get yourself killed? Starve to death as you search for them like needles in a haystack? I may have lost him but I am not losing you too. And he’d never want you to go out there and put yourself at risk. He’d never forgive any of us if we let you leave. Deep down, I think you know that.”
You stared one another down before giving a bitter, watery laugh.
“Guess we’ll never know what he would think now, would we? Whatever. I’ll be in my cell if anyone needs me.”
—–
The following days were beyond painful. You found yourself constantly looking for him on instinct, used to his grounding presence just a ways in front or back of you, the way he’d mumble quips under his breath that made you smile, blush or laugh. You missed your late night talks. Remember as you’d warmed up to him. Told him “Ohana means family. Family means no-one gets left behind.” You recalled the way he’d smirked a little and nudged you with a mumbled. “What are you, 5?” You’d gone on to defend Lilo and Stitch and nudged him back with a playful smile. It had been cold that night and he’d wrapped his arms around you, made you feel safe.
And now, you’d never felt more vulnerable and isolated. You understood what he felt like at the start. Everyone looked at you like you were a wild animal, something to be pitied that could lash out at any time.
Luckily Beth and Glenn had finally given up, but Carol was persistent. You walked around the prison on patrol, her right at your back.
“Please, eat something at least, if you won’t sleep. It’s been days. Daryl wouldn’t want you to-”
“Would you stop saying that? I already told you. I’ll eat and sleep when he’s back, not a second sooner.”
“You’re acting like a child!”
Your eyes flared as you turned to her, though your expression remained cool.
“Well maybe I finally got tired being the mature one all the time. I’m still doing my part, helping everyone else. Just stop caring. Clearly it’s easy enough for everyone else to.”
Aaron joined you both as you were turning to leave when suddenly gunfire rang out, making you drop and pull Carol down with you instinctively. Aaron fell suddenly and you gasped as you saw he’d been shot in the head. Carol’s face grew steely as she positioned the body in front of you both, holding you to her tightly. Thankfully your tiny frame was easily covered.
“You stay still and you don’t move alright?”
Carol’s voice was shaky as you heard shouts ring out all around you. Are you being attacked? You hated that even now you still shook from adrenaline and fear. You heard Maggie cry out as she provided cover fire.
“Carol, take her and go!!”
You both jumped up and rushed over to where you could see Beth and Carl, grabbing guns.
A car could be heard speeding and you took the time to catch your breath as you watched in anxious horror as walkers came out of the back, hordes of them. Your mind raced, trying to figure out where everyone else was. You could all be together and deal with the threat.
You did not want to lose anyone else.
In the distance you saw Glenn and Michonne helping what looked like Hershel thank God and when they pulled up you hugged them all, quickly thinking of who else was left. Rick. Where the Hell was Rick?
You asked Hershel as much and he reassured you.
“Calm down. I saw him, he’s gonna be alright.”
He looked towards the others.
“…He’s not alone. Daryl and his brother are back. Look.”
He raised his chin behind you and you sighed in immeasurable relief at the sight. Thank God. Your core family was still together.
You all gathered and some slept while others spoke quietly in the night. You couldn’t even look at Daryl. Not yet. You didn’t want to break; not when the situation was so precarious.
Once morning came discussions began in earnest on what to do. Some wanted to leave, others wanting to stay. Rick went to leave again and Hershel finally snapped, understandably so.
When Rick returned he began allocating and you sighed as Glenn spoke up, mind racing as you tried to think of the best course of action.
“There’s barely any food or ammo.”
Daryl mumbled back.
“Been there before. We’ll be alright.”
“That was when it was just us. Before there was a snake in the nest.”
You frowned.
“Man we gonna go through this again? Look, Merle’s staying here. He’s with us now. Get used to it. All y'all.”
He stormed off as Rick tried to stop him, heading to the second floor.
You watched the group debate.
You understood both perspectives, you really did. But with a final glance around at the others, you knew where you stood, deciding to voice it when Glenn asked a dangerous question.
“Deliver Merle to the governor. Bargaining chip. Give him his traitor, maybe declare a truce.”
You moved to glare up at him, knowing he was hurting and trying to temper your instinct; protectiveness and annoyance.
“No-one’s saying you have to like the guy or forgive him, Glenn. But think about Daryl. For once. He’s done so much for us without asking for anything in return. The least we can do is offer his family a place here.”
You scoffed as you moved to go to your cell.
“At the very least, he certainly deserves better than you talking about killing his brother in cold blood behind his back."
"Like he wouldn’t throw you to the Walkers to get away the first chance he got.”
You paused at Glenn’s hiss, before looking behind your shoulder at him, ignoring the dizziness that was making you lightheaded.
“You’re probably right. But I also know Daryl would put his life on the line to protect me from that same Walker. That’s the difference. I know why you feel the way you do, and I am truly sorry for what you and Maggie both went through. But Daryl? He’s worth more to me than revenge you think will make you feel better. And deep down I think you feel that way too.”
You walked away before he could say anything more and headed up to see Daryl. You were safe for now, and you couldn’t wait any longer.
He was waiting on his bed, fiddling with his arrows. You took a shaky breath to try and steel yourself but when you opened your mouth his eyes abruptly cut to you.
“When was the last time you ate or slept?”
You winced and looked away, mouth closing as you’d gone quiet. You swallowed nervously.
“…haven’t since you left.”
“‘Scuse me?!”
You looked back at him when his voice rose and saw the anger in his eyes.
“The Hell you mean you ain’t ate or slept since I left? It’s been 4 days now.”
“It doesn’t matter, I’ll do it now okay so just-”
You turned to leave, cheeks burning in humiliation at your secret being out but looked back as rough calloused fingers curled around your arm.
“Like Hell it don’t matter! Look at me!”
You met his eyes and your tears finally fell as you did so. The aggressive tone was a bit triggering, but you and him both knew you wouldn’t have broken down like you needed to otherwise.
“I’m sorry okay!? I didn’t want you to know, I thought-I just…”
You used your free hand to cover your mouth as you sobbed.
“I didn’t want to live in a world you weren’t here with me! They wouldn’t let me go find you so I just- I just shut down. It was good anyway, Carl’s a growing kid and I’d rather my portion be used to help the others than go to waste. It was a good thing!”
Your voice cracked and you looked away to try and gather yourself when Daryl gently guided your face back to look him in the eye.
“You sacrificin’ yourself while spiraling ain't a good thing. I promise I won’t leave like that again. An’ if I ever did, I’d come back for ya. But that means ya gotta take care of yourself. Not worry the others. Beth told me, soon as I got in. Told me you was bein’ a damn fool and to get some sustenance and sleep in ya.”
You gave a watery laugh at that and moved to hug him, hiding your face in his neck and taking comfort in the warmth and solidness of him.
“Should’ve known she’d tell you. Between her and Carol it was getting pretty difficult. Pretty sure Carol was just gonna start force-feeding me soon.”
His husky chuckle made you melt further into him but he sighed and pulled back, raising his chin toward the 1rst floor.
“She must’ve got her stubborn streak from watchin’ you. Now, get some food first before you doze off, you can eat it here with me and then you’re going the Hell to bed. Y'know I’ll wake you soon as anything happens.”
You blushed at the embarrassing question you wanted to ask but he beat you to it, fingers running through your hair in the familiar way he did when you’d have a nightmare or insomnia before he left.
“Obviously I’ll be right by your side. You ain’t the only one who was strugglin’. Kept looking over my shoulder to make sure you were alright. I want you in my sight. 'Specially knowing what stupid shit you’ll do if separated from me again.”
You smiled at the fondness in his tone and pulled away to go get food. The dizziness was getting worse so you grabbed an apple and called it good as you trucked up the stairs again to his room.
He frowned a bit at the small portion but sighed in defeat after a moment from where he was back on the bottom bunk.
“Apple for now is fine, it’s probably best you get your stomach used to food again anyhow.”
You forced the apple down despite your lack of hunger since Daryl was back. That was what you’d promised Carol. You didn’t want anyone to worry about you anymore. You’d been selfish enough. Clearly you weren’t as slick as you thought if both Beth and Carol had caught on.
When you finished it down to the core he moved over to make a small space for you to cuddle into, eyes still locked on his arrow. You couldn’t stifle your smile and moved to make yourself comfortable. Wall at your back and Daryl at your right it felt like you could breathe again and you couldn’t help your yawn at the familiar position.
“Here. I doubt you’ll need if since you’re so tired but it never hurts.”
His voice was gruff but you saw the intimacy of the action as he tossed his familiar leather jacket over you, knowing you slept infinitely better with a blanket.
“You can use me as a pillow too, if ya need. I’m not goin’ anywhere.”
You relaxed completely and let yourself feel safe and contented as you snuggled into his shoulder and neck. The warmth emanating from him was already making you drift off and the dizziness was fading.
“Thanks for not leaving me. Sorry for being stupid and selfish and… like a child.”
He chuckled at that and moved one of his arms to circle you and pull you closer, ruffling your hair before continuing to play with it.
“S'fine. Everyone’s warranted a temper tantrum now and then. Just don’ make a habit of it or I’ll have to smack ya upside the head good.”
“Yeah, right. A big…softie like you?”
You stifled another yawn.
“Doubt it.”
He smiled and you blissfully passed into unconsciousness. He looked up as Carol leaned against the doorway, a wry smile on her face.
“Haven’t had a chance to say. I’m glad you came back.”
He scoffed a little.
“To what? All this?”
Carol came to sit down, voice quiet but clear.
“This is our home.”
He met her eyes meaningfully.
“This is a tomb.”
“That’s what T-Dog called it. Thought he was right…till you found me.”
Her voice was somber but gentle.
“He’s your brother, but he’s not good for you. Don’t let him bring you down. After all, look how far you’ve come.”
Her eyes moved to you sleeping soundly against him in meaning and he looked away a moment before looking back as they shared a chuckle.

Things I wanna see in Cobra Kai S6 part 2
Since I'm on a Cobra Kai streak since they dropped the new photos, I want to make a list of things I wish to see in part 2. And then check if they become true 🙏🏻 (I'm writing this before they drop the trailer)
Feel free to add whatever you want <3
Alright, HAJIME!!
1. Kwon's backstory and character development
I don't want him to be a 2D villain. Every character until now has had at least some internal conflict and reasons behind their behaviour (even bullies like Kyler), so please, PLEASE, give the guy an interesting background. If we have to tolerate Daniel and Johnny love-hate every season, I want my little Kdrama too 😂
Also, if they're going to add even more secondary characters (who, according to the leaks, will be kind of villains too), I need them to focus on Kwon first.
2. Tory defending herself from whatever BS the Miyagi Do's will tell her
Yes, she's not well at all after her mother's death and yes, Cobra Kai isn't the way to heal from her wounds... But if I hear one of them getting angry at her or calling her a traitor when none of them went after her, I'll be kicking 540s in my room................
I would also love to watch her train in Korea with the new team, giving Kim a "TAKE THAT B*TCH, who wouldn't have lasted one minute in your dojang back home??" (In season 5 Kim told that to Tory and Devon) and watch her training her hardest and truly fighting and earning her position as captain, not to appear magically in Barcelona as sensei Kreese's pet ('cause I don't think neither Kwon nor Yoon will like that).
They can even do this as flashbacks before each round of the tournament. But... I'm kind of losing hope on this because of the producers' comments. I write it here just in case :(
3. Johnny being a real father to Robby
I understand his main interest is defeating Cobra Kai, especially now that they know Kreese is back. But Robby will need him more than anyone during this tournament: the poor boy has the pression of being the team captain in a televised international competition, he needs to win the Sekai Taikai because that's the only way he could be offered a better future after being in juvie for so long, his girlfriend (ex?) has been MIA only to appear with their nemesis' team........
I've seen an interview where Xolo said Miguel's going to be Robby's main support during part 2. And while I like that, I still feel that, for once in his life, Johnny should step up and put the son he abandoned for so many years first. That would be his REAL redemption arc, more than being sensei for his own version of Cobra Kai.
4. Demetri and Hawk fixing their problems FAST
I understand them both, but their argument seems like the typical post-high school crisis where you have to separate yourself from your lifelong friends because (surprise!) each one wants and must follow their own path and dreams.
So for me it's alright if they solve this with just one conversation after winning together some round during the Sekai Taikai. I don't need something like one of them DYING or ending up in the hospital (though that's probably what will happen to Demetri seeing the X-men-mutants they've chosen as their rivals........).
In short, for me the character arcs of Hawk and Demetri are already complete and do not need more drama. They can become secondary characters, although I love both actors and I'll miss them so much :')
5. Bring back #MiguelSeason 1!!!!
I don't think there's anyone who doesn't want this to be honest haha. But in my case what I mean is I want the concentration and power he had back then, not him playing dirty or seriously injuring someone.
I want FULL POWER Miguel, the ultimate version of this young fighter we saw growing each season, using every style he's learned and making it his own.
And who knows, I won't be mad if he wins after all, but that only if Robby gets an awesome final character arc.
6. Sam and Tory supporting each other even if enemies on the tatami
These girls have already apologised to each other and now Sam understands Tory's situation and mental state without any judgement, so I want Tory to find selfless support in Sam and to learn how to confide in her.
And I want Sam to fully embrace Mr.Miyagi's teachings of forgiveness, balance and strength.
And what better way to do it than by applying them to your former arch-nemesis?
EXTRA POINTS if they fight together against Zara or any other enemy!
7. Silver NOT coming back in this second part...
At least until the end of the last episode.
We have villains already. We have NEW characters (villains?) already. And as much as I like chaos and drama, I don't think it will be easy to follow a story where everyone is against Miyagi Do lol
They can save him for the finale.
... Plus I just can't stand that dude :'), I prefer Kreese as an antagonist all the way.
8. Sassy arguments, teenage drama and funny scenes
I already read that part 2 is gonna be very action-oriented. But Cobra Kai is much more than amazing stunts and choreographies (which I love, don't get me wrong). I just don't want them to forget the potential of having a hotel and a sports park full of troublesome teenagers, with even more troublesome senseis.
They're participating in a hard competition abroad, but that doesn't mean they can't have some comedy scenes here and there like the ones they have in the Valley.
Idk, you have a Korean dude with an anime-looking hair and an American dude with a freaking American flag in his mohawk!!!!! Someone has to make at least a comment about that.
9. The characters eating Spanish food or trying to speak Spanish
This one is personal hahaha
I grew up in Spain so I need to watch them tasting a tortilla or trying to buy something and getting scolded by a Spanish "abuela" (grandma).
BONUS POINTS if Johnny Lawrence drinks the typical beer from there (Estrella Galicia). (Know this won't happen as it would be free advertising haha).
10. Amanda and Carmen being the queens they are, finally happy and in peace as every karate freak (including their respective husbands) are booked and busy at the other side of the world
#and that would be all for now#if I get any other ideas I'll probably write a part 2#this is my way to cope while waiting for the trailer#Thank You so much if you've read all this lol#I'm gonna be so sad when this series ends......#months and months of waiting for me to finish part 2 in just one afternoon#cobra kai#cobra kai kwon#daniel larusso#johnny lawrence#kwon jae sung#miguel diaz#robby keene#sam larusso#tory nichols#john kreese#terry silver#kim da eun#demetri cobra kai#demetri alexopoulos#hawk cobra kai#eli moskowitz#sekai taikai#cobra kai part 2#cobra kai spoilers#cobra kai season 6

His Strange Addiction
Pt 1, Pt 2, Pt 3, Pt 4.
Cody Rhodes x Fem Wrestler!OC (Milena Reyz)
Desc: Milena is getting quite sick of Bianca eying her soon to be husband almost everyday so she takes it upon herself to be involved in a wrestling match with Bianca on Monday night raw & show exactly who Cody belongs to. Melina decided to go with a storyline within WWE where she’s downright psychotic, Talking to herself etc & Cody has no idea until Milena makes her way into the ring.
Contents: Angst, Fluff, Arguing, Milena serving cunt, Cody being a whore for Milena, Mentions of insecurity, 1 Year time skip, slightly toxic duo, Violence. Mentions of Cheating, Accusations of cheating. Implications of smut.
{~I'm very serious with you guys interacting with my writing!!!! it would make me so happy & excited, the more comments & reposts the more inspiration i have to write :) Votes and comments are strongly appreciated so please COMMENT COMMENT COMMENT COMMEENNTTT the more comments the more content <3!!!~}
It had been at-least 2 months since the wedding of Cody & Milena, it was now finally summer slam season, it was July & the couple just arrived to Miami, the only issue was Cody had torn his pec while working out the other day & he was just about to go into a match with Seth in less than 30 minutes.
Milena had just left her dressing room in a referee crop top & shorts since she was reffing for his match and made her way to find Cody to check up on him, but she couldn’t find him anywhere so she went up to Jey “Hey JJ have you seen Cody anywhere?” He tossed his water bottle in his bag “Yeah I’m pretty sure he’s in the back of the locker-rooms with Montez talking about the pec issue.” She nodded thanking him and made his way to the locker rooms expecting to see Montez but instead saw Bianca with him & felt her heart drop. She squinted her eyes and poked her tongue against her cheek before crossing her arms leaning against the doorway while listening to Bianca talk “I’m just so..happy for you cody, truly, but um..if you have any issues with her I’ll have open arms.” And open legs, Cody nodded & thanked her awkwardly while she ran her hand down his arm smiling.
Milena scoffed enough to have the two of them look over at her, Cody immediately knew she had the wrong idea especially if she just saw this happen, Milena nodded her head looking at Cody “Your so fucking insufferable cody, truly. You’re up in 5 minutes.” Cody watched her walk off and clear his throat before glaring over at Bianca “I don’t know what game your trying to play but I swear to fucking god on everything I own if you ruin my goddamn marriage Bi, I will end your career & future careers for as long as you live, and you DEFINITELY shouldn’t trust Mills when she’s as calm as that, she’s going to beat your ass. In the ring and out of it.” He spat his harsh words at her leaving her in shock, Seth just finished his entrance & was In the ring while Milena circled it holding up the championship belt while Cody was making his entrance.
Seth stared down Mills as she stood on one of the ropes flashing the belt towards the crowd with a grin on her face while Seth started talking “Had anyone ever told you that your wife looks fucking amazing today? Maybe after I kick your sorry ass and send you back to Georgia I’ll maybe..give Milena a visit..” he grinned over at Cody while he entered the ring clenching his jaw while She had just let out a laugh at the remark. Before blowing her whistle to start off the match.
Cody was insanely pissed off, He immediately beat Seth to the ground, threw some VERY real punches & stomped into his chest & even got to the point where he left claw like scratches on his face so the announcers had Milena call off the match & Drag cody backstage, The minute that door shut their biggest argument started “What the FUCK was that?!” She shouted while Cody scoffed unwrapping his hands from any bandages & glared “You heard what the hell he said about yo-“ she stopped him with a laugh of mockery “Your fucking kidding me right? Just a few months ago you CRAWLED up my ass for beating the shit out of Bianca for what she said to you and that goddamn shoulder touch and FUCK ME EYES! But when YOU do it suddenly it’s okay?! Your fucking ridiculous.” Cody pointed his finger in her face with a condescending tone“Watch your fucking tone.” She smacked him across the face “Don’t you EVER talk to me like that ever again. It truly amazes me how you’re okay with Bianca making inappropriate suggestions despite our fresh fucking marriage but the minute Seth does it you go fucking insane.” She spat at him.
“And the minute I get my fucking hands on her she’s fucking done and you know it, especially after that little connection with her earlier.” She glared while Cody wiped blood off his lip scoffing “Don’t you da-“ before he could even finish Milena stormed out of the dressing room and everyone in the locker room heard the entire argument and ran after Mills to stop her including, Roman, Seth, Montez & Jey but she was to fast, she found Bianca & Immediately the other girls such as Becky, Liv & Rhea tried stopping her but she was yet again to quick, “Jey go get cody & tell him to grab Milena before she ends up in a damn cell tonight.” Jey ran off to get Cody “Your chick is about to beat Biancas ass you better go on and get’er” Cody furrowed his brows and started running to where everyone was & saw Milena & Bianca slamming into lockers & pulling onto each-others hair but Milena grabbed Bianca by the back of her head and slammed her head into a wall yelling at her. Cody & Roman pushed their way through the crowd trying to stop the girls & both of them grabbed Mills while roman kept shouting at Bianca to either ‘shut the fuck up’ or ‘Go somewhere before I let her go.’ Milena fought against Cody still yelling at Bianca calling her a Cunt & other harsh names before He dragged her away from the scene “You need to take a goddamn breath Milena.” Her chest heaved up and down while Cody held her arms trying to get her to calm down but she was still furious “Your sleeping with Bianca aren’t you? Why the FUCK do you both have some sort of chemistry and connection since I’ve came to WWE?”
Cody groaned and ran his hands down his face “I’m not fucking sleeping with Bianca Milena!” She scoffed “Bullshit! You two have something going on, Your on the same fucking cover for that dumbass game and have shared moments together behind the scenes of a goddamn photo shoot, let me find out your lying to me Cody and I swear to god I will make this marriage a living hell for you.”
She stormed off leaving Cody by himself, for hours they gave each other the silent treatment during the entire summer slam event, Jey & Seth walked into the dressing room while Jey handed Milena coffee he cleared his throat “So how are you handling the news??” She quirked up an eyebrow “What news?” Seth looked over at Jey & Her confused “I thought Cody told you Bianca & Him used to sleep with each-other before you joined WWE?” Milena immediately had a facial expression that showed the pair she had no idea they had any sort of connection to her. “Are you a fucking dumbass Seth?” Jey turned to him automatically stressed out “Why do you always run your mouth jesus fucking christ.” Seth awkwardly laughed while Milena stood up “Where the fuck is he?” Jey blocked the door and held his hands “Milena n-“ She got closer to him and started putting her hair up “Tell me where he is now before I tear this entire room apart and find him myself.” Seth shoved jey out of the way “empty confrence roo-“ before he could even finish she left and went to the exact room Cody was in & just stood there, They both stared at each other “When were you going to tell me Cody?” Her voice croaked but she still held herself together while he exhaled standing up walking over to her “Were you even going to tell me and just make me sit here looking like a fucking dumbass??”
Cody frowned and tried holding her hands but she pushed him away “Answer me! It’s the least you could fucking do! Is this why you kept giving her the benefit of the doubt! Are you STILL fucking her?” He held out his hands “Sweetheart I was going to tell you until everything died down, I didn’t intend for any of this to get as far as it did I’m not sleeping with her in-fact I stopped the moment I found out you were back.” She shook her head “I can’t trust you Cody, not as a husband or a person I do not fucking trust you. I won’t divorce you but I need you to start being honest with me for as long as we’re married if you want my trust.” He nodded and pressed his hand against her cheek “I’ll go as far as getting her out of the goddamn company if I have to for you.”
She nodded in silence “Let me handle that alright?” He nodded and pulled her into his arms, Cody knew if she was this calm she was plotting & scheming, summer slam wasn’t going to end until atleast 12AM, Just as Roman finished his promo Milena went out into the ring with a microphone, Cody & Jey watched backstage “How the fuck is she so calm right now?” Jey asked with minor concern while Cody leaned into his seat “She’s about to reveal the shit she’s been plotting and scheming since her fight with Bianca.”
She cleared her throat and spoke into the microphone “Some of yo- ALL of you know of the rivalry between me & Bianca & I have decided, That next week I will be challenging Bianca into join me in a Hell In a Cell match, 1 on 1, No limits & No disqualifications.” Roman sat in the room with Jey & Cody and sighed “She’s going to kill Bianca.” Milena stood there before speaking again “This will be my last warning to Bianca, I know your listening to this & I’m going to say this VERY clearly, I suggest you back off of my husband Cody or I will make your life a living hell in & out of the ring, If I need to fuck him right in front of you to get that through your thick skull because your pony tail is to tight it explodes your braincells then I absolutely will.” She stared directly into the camera while the crowd started freaking out, She walked backstage & looked overt at Cody, Jey & Roman.
“I know one of you have her husband’s personal phone number, and one of you are going to give it to me & let me handle things My way. Since she wrecks my marriage then it’s only fair I wreck hers.” They all looked at each-other and Cody muttered under his breath a quiet “Shit.” while roman started pulling out his phone. This was not going to go well for Bianca in the slightest.

my nominations
for race line awards !
took me some good times to dive back into my ao3 history:) at this point i guess this couldn't be regarded as "lines" anymore, but anyways-- i've enjoyed myself while doing this:) thank you sooo much for bringing up this awards
love notes in the kitchen (say it all) - @/formulaes (mark/sebastian)
Mark bent down to pick up the ring. What the fuck?, he thought, what the actual entire fuck? He turned the ring over in his hands, noting a small engraving on the inside of the ring: Love You Forever. Mark might actually be going into shock. No fucking way had Sebastian just proposed to him through the romantic medium of eating all his chocolate (again) and leaving an engagement ring as an IOU.
postcards from places that miss you - @/streetlightsky (sebastian/charles)
My poor English cannot describe how much I adore the title like it expressed the context and Charles' feelings sooo well. I felt the peacefulness and caught on an sensational hunch throughout my reading. Very recommend for when you wanna escape tough life out there.
love notes in the kitchen (say it all) - @/formulaes (mark/sebastian)
He doesn’t say Multi 2-1, but they both know it’s what he means. Once upon a time a statement like that would have made Mark seethe with rage, but now it just makes him laugh and pounce at Seb, grabbing him in a bear hug and lifting him off the ground with a playful growl. “Ah! Mark!” Seb shrieks, “Mark! No, put me down! I’m innocent!” He shakes Seb around playfully, ignoring the clang of the tin as it hits the ground and peppering his face with kisses, “Stop.” kiss “Eating.” kiss “My.” kiss “Chocolate.” kiss. Seb is giggling like a maniac, pretending to try and escape from Mark’s embrace as his feet finally touch back down to earth.
Cut open your Heart - @/Lovely_Lotus (carlos/oscar)
His eyes follow Oscar as he bends down to pick something up, his back muscles flexing and accentuating where Carlos left his marks behind. But Carlos is unable to appreciate it. He is transfixed by the thing Oscar picks up. It's Carlos’ clothes. The 55 displayed proudly on the fireproofs. But there's something wrong with them. Only when Oscar puts them on does he notice that they are red. Weren’t they blue before? Oscar doesn’t seem to notice, nor does he seem to care. He takes one last look at him that Carlos can’t decipher. Unlocks the door and walks out, leaving Carlos behind to bleed out.
To Lando… - @/Lottie1824 (lando/oscar)
Not long until the end of the season now. I think I can do this and I can feel you with me every step of the way. Love you forever and always Oscar.
5 times lando came into oscar’s room and told him he was bad at hugging plus one time oscar went into lando’s room and gave him the best hug of his life (by fall out boy) - anonymous user (lando/oscar)
“I don’t want to skip the sprint though,” Lando said. “I don’t want to let people down.” “Taking care of yourself is not letting people down,” Oscar said. “Which is why you're here to help me,” Lando said, attempting to smile. “I’ll help you as best as I can, but I’m not a professional so I might make it worse.” “That’s a risk I’m willing to take,” Lando said, his eyes dark and serious. “I trust you, Oscar.”
cherry - @/helioslover (max/charles)
Max hates planes. Max also hates being too shy to ask the stewardess for a night mask so that he could sleep through the flight. Max hates knowing who’ll be picking him up at the airport. Max also hates the way he is happy to see a familiar face in a country where he doesn’t know anyone, even if it is this familiar face. But Max mostly hates the way he is eager to see Charles.
amaranthine - @/kjstark (carlos/charles)
Fate smiles at them again. And when the sun hits Carlos on the face during the anthems, his eyes don’t burn. You see: his teammate is Charles Leclerc, he’s used to the blinding light.
he just turned in like i didn’t exist - @/linearity (carlos/oscar)
You see, Oscar doesn’t have a problem with his soulmate. It’s his soulmate who has the fucking problem.

You’re scenarios for parent Pigsy were really fun 🤩
If you take requests could you make something similar for ShadowJadePeach (Macaque, Wukong, and Nüwa) being parents (or at least awkward step-parent in Macaque’s case) to MK (and maybe Bai He (LBD’s host)).
Please 🙏😊
I would love to! Lets go!
Macaque, Wukong, and Nuwa trying to be parents to MK( plus Bai He)
List:
Macaque and Wukong deal with all their issues, while trying to MK from going Apeshit.
Nuwa thinks she understand humans, because she made them, she doesent
"Nuwa, Wukong and Macaque babysitting Bai He and MK"
The scenarios are mostly silly little stories of them trying to be good parental figures or scenarios that could possibly happen in season 5.
Also, if anyone wanna draw or use any of the scenarios in any way, im completly happy with that! Just tag me, so i can reblog it and love it forever :)
Scenario 1: "Macaque and Wukong deal with all their issues, while trying to stop MK from going Apeshit"
This is acutally something, i think, could happen in the show.
So, Macaque and Wukong are trying to deal with all their past issues(which there is a lot of). And tts not going great though, and they end up having an argument again.
Suddenly MK steps into the room. He is really struggling with all the "mystic monkey busniess" going on in his life, so he thinks talking with the "mystic monkeys" would help.
Problem is, Wukong and Macaque are too mad eachother to do anthing to help, other than making it worse soooo. MK just leaves, now having it even worse with his "monkey fate", since earlier he had a small fight with Mei. Nothing big, but with Macaque and Wukong fighting, and them being an awfully lot like him and Mei, he is starting to get scared that they will end up like them. And that he will end up hurting Mei.
So in the middle of MK having this chrisis, a sort of Steven Universe future panic(if you know the refernce), Wukong and Macaque finally come to their senses and reailise something very important. To help MK, they have to understand what went wrong with them, so MK and Mei dont end up on the same road.
And in that way, we get the "Macaque and Wukong backstory" :D
Scenario 2: " Nuwa thinks she understand humans, because she made them, she doesent"
One day, MK goes to pick up Bai He from school(big brother and little sister vibes). Sadly it starts raining(a lot), so they cant get home. (Kinda like this scene from my neighbor Tortoro).
Nuwa sees this and picks them up, where she is then thanked and told that they quickly have to get Bai He home, before her parents get too worried.
But instead of just driving a little bit faster Nuwa goes almost full GOD MODE, and drives faster than fucking Wukong on his cloud. They almost drive several people over, several cars crash into eachother because of it, and a lot of people have gained new trauma because of it.
The kids are screaming, yet Nuwa just interepts this as to go FASTER.
They make it to Bai He's home, safe and sound, but lets just say that MK and Bai He are just gonna wait next time it rains that much.
(The reason MK didnt use his staff? He forgot)
Scenario 3: "Nuwa, Wukong and Macaque babysitting Bai He and MK"
Pigsy was supposed to take care of Bai He, because her parents were doing something that day, but something came up. And MK cant do it, because he accdently broke one of his legs, and Pigsy doesent wanna push him too much because of it.
And since neither Mei, Tang, Sandy or any resbonibly adult he knows, can help, he calls Nuwa, Wukong and Macaque.
The little trio sees this as a great possibilty to get closer to the kids, but its gets a biiiit chaotic with the following things happening:
Macaque gets a bit jelaous, and tries to train MK a bit, yet this ends in MK breaking his arm too(dont ask, neither of them dont know how it happend)
Bai He asks Nuwa if she can help her with her homework. This though ends up in Nuwa crying over Math homework.
Wukong tries to cook some food, but gets too cocky, and ends up making litteral poison, that could kill a god.
Dont worry, they order some Pizza, put on a show and they actually have quite a nice time after that.
Pigsy just finds them sleeping together on the couch, and suspects nothing. (though he was surprised the house wasnt burned down)
