Vampire chuuya (^ this guy) being the biggest one, was born into a family with super female features (all the women in his family have red hair) and was raised pretty much as a girl (then he gets married and now his life goal is to kill his whole bloodline but thats not important)

others would be these two (cryptid au chuuya and highschool au)
I wont say much on it as to not spoil their backstories but its a big thing with 'Looking like a girl again'

as someone who falls under the trans umbrella myself its very important to me to (push all my issues onto chuuya so he deals with them) make my silly guy be just like me frfr so i do stuff whenever possible

Fem soukoku dazai is a popular idol beloved in japan and oversea with many dating rumor it's a litteral shipping war :
with those shipping her with her best friend the film director and writter oda sakunosuke, while others ship her with her manager kunikuda, while others ship her with her mentee atsushi and akutagawa, the model sigma , her senpai ranpo or her rival fyodor then after her coming out as pansexual peoples started shipping her with the actress yosano Akiko and the model and actress sasaki nobuko.
And the press doesn't help with this bloodbath but the worst is that dazai like to feed those rumor while she's in fact pinning since she was 15 After her stylist and makeup artist who's also her childhood friend/rival nakahara chuuya.
She's trying to make her jealous but chuuya is oblivious and those rumor always got worse when she's dating someone ( a brief relation with shirase or/and yuan, a fake relationship with Lippmann to make someone jealous, a crush on iceman and/or pianoman and a relationship with albatross).
Finally peoples get sick of the pinning and all the drama and rumors and they all make a plan to get them together.

Imagine 15!dazai and 15!chuuya having a crush on a slightly older reader that’s a doctor for the pm and since they always get injured they constantly go to the doctor and sometimes even purposefully get injured just to see you<33
It's a very them thing to do, especially Dazai. One way to make him absolutely infatuated is answering his questions about poisons and dangerous medication interactions.

Listen, I like Oda, he's cool and everything but he tells Dazai the exact same thing Verlaine says to Chuuya. Both of these boys were struggling with their identity and believed they didnt deserve to be seen as humans. Where Dazai was desperately distancing himself but positioning himself in a spot where he could still experience humanity, Chuuya was actively trying to be human while also not fully accepting himself as one. Verlaine tried to break Chuuya by reinforcing his lack of humanity by pointing out how nothing and no one could ever fill that lonely void in him and yea sure we all collectively believe that was a nasty thing to say to a child struggling with his identity who had just lost all his friends. But Oda did the exact same thing, I know his intentions were better and he cared about Dazai when he said that and the meaning was distorted because neither actually understood the other enough, but he told a child struggling with his identity who had just lost his 2 closest friends and had no contact with his partner at the time that nothing could fill the lonely void in his soul.
And nobody is ever allowed to question it or criticise it cause Oda has the cool dead guy syndrome where he isn't allowed to be criticised or judged like other characters.
Because Chuuya heard those words at the very beginning of strombringer by someone he hated and later spent the entire book learning that people did in fact care for him and view him as human and finding out about his parents and the scar, it led to him having (slightly) less of a martyr ideology because he no longer isolates himself and tends to seek out genuine connections even if he is painfully reserved and repressed about his own struggles. Meanwhile Dazai was told those exact same words by Oda at the very end of the dark era arc at an incredibly vulnerable moment when he had literally lost everything and seen things and lives fall apart by someone who he idolized to an almost unhealthy level. This leads to Dazai quite literally losing hope (he shows a hopeful nature a few times in 15 and dark era though it is rather subtle, Dazai shows it most in his attempt to stop Oda from going to the final fight) and becoming a martyr who sees no value in his own life outside of a tool. He struggles to create genuine connections even with people who genuinely care for him (the ADA) and repeatedly puts on a mask in front of them.
Chuuya and Dazai both view themselves as people whose lives are only worth what they can do for others in different ways, Chuuya feels the need to protect because he is the strongest and feels need to earn his existence whereas Dazai feels the need to martyr himself because he only finds value in his life and death by saving people.

I was watching cannibalism stageplay and found that it pointed out smth very interesting!!! Atsushi's relationship with his orphanage director/headmaster actually resembles Akutagawa's relationship with Dazai
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Both Dazai and the orphanage director/headmaster deeply abused and traumatized their students, but it is revealed that both of them did so in concern for their students' survival.
Dazai treated Akutagawa harshly so he would have the strength to live, and even thrive, in the mafia. The orphanage director/headmaster treated Atsushi harshly so that atsushi could keep living with himself when things eventually came crashing down around him (such as when the tiger went feral).
They are also both revealed to have had a rough—arguably even rougher than their students' in some aspects—life, and as such wanted to protect their students from the same pain and agony... though toughening them up through even more agony, enough so that they could persevere and survive through real awful situations later on
honestly i never even thought about this parallel before the stageplay, so this was super duper cool
(more stuff analysis about dazai under the cut!!!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
what's even more interesting is that dazai seems to acknowledge this parallel, and it's through this that we gain further insight on how he views akutagawa. It's clear that he knows full well that what he had done to akutagawa was unforgiveable, and does not expect forgiveness.
however, it's still evident that dazai cares for Akutagawa (again, still does not at all justify what he did to him, but definitely helps put things in perspective). If he hadn't, why would Dazai have put him through all that training and suffering to toughen him up, when he could have just as easily thrown him to the wolves and left him to die as a meaningless grunt in the mafia?
Dazai saw a young child, only 2 years younger than him, with a similar lack of a will to live in his eyes. He didn't need to take him into the mafia, but he did. he saw that kid with nothing else to keep him pushing through life, and sought to give him a similar home and salvation that the mafia brought him. Perhaps even better, perhaps give him the hope that dazai had wished the mafia have given him (as it is revealed in stormbringer that he had already gotten tired of the mafia after a year despite saying that he might find a reason to live bc of it in 15).
but for akutagawa to be able to find a home in the mafia (which, its clear that he does later on, such as when he was trying to bring kyouka back to the mafia) dazai had to make sure that he could survive through the bad, hence the... well, y'know. we've all memed on that one gif of dazai beating the shit out of aku. i think. i dunno maybe im just fucked up.
dazai isnt a dick to akutagawa bc he was an edgy teenager or just for shits and giggles. and he didn't push akutagawa to the fullest because he didn't comprehend how strong he actually was, pushing on a notion of weakness onto him.
dazai knows that akutagawa is strong. we know he knows. Hell, Chuuya (and atsushi too but idk if im remembering the guild aftermath scene right) knows.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So did Dazai's method of putting aku through hell to make him develop a "loathesome anger to help him survive" work? yeah. does it resemble what atsushi went through at the hands of his orphanage director/headmaster? yeah.
however, the similarities in their way of teaching doesn't end there. Dazai's method of training akutagawa resulted in an extremely low self-esteem, the kind that depends on another's approval. While atsushi doesn't necessarily depend on the approval of others, he does have a very low self esteem and rather depends on helping others to prove that he's worthy of living.
This unfortunate side effect of Dazai's and the orphanage director/headmaster's teaching method is likely unintentional, as both probably only focused on the intended outcome of strengthening akutagawa/atsushi.
so anyway idk how to end this so yeah. tldr cannibalism stageplay pointed out the parallel between atsushi's relationship with his orphanage director/headmaster vs akutagawa's relationship with dazai. as such, it helps give really interesting insight on why dazai treated aku that way.

hello! this is not dead!!!! i have just been busy- um i have some updates for the au though! they will be listed below:
dazai, still a child star. only ever shown one eye on their scenes. all that stay the same exept
dazai taught herself bass!! she knows a bit of piano and some other instruments too but bass is her main one
chuuyas backstory changes a lot so be ready here. still had a sister like her and her dad but they both died in an accident when she was 6. she was then taken in by famous pianist and violinest duo veraline and other guy-(i forgor names)
chuuyas then still brought up around a lot of musical instriments and has a lot of musical talent, but now her main instrument is the violin like blondey parent
their consept is good girls gone bad, having a strong rock influence with bass as main background instriment and violin being main focal instriment(but also still singing- i know this is confusing sorry- i dont actually know much about instriments and idol things but im doing my best)
dazai still leaves the company, and chuuya still stays making her own music. the story of the au stays mostly the same now exept for more details!!
akutagawa was trained for piano by dazai- still not good enviroment- but yknow. and after dazai left chuuya helped akutagawa write some songs. akutagawa more skilled in writing music than playing it themself
atsushi is a editor who also works with the guitar. plays wonderwall. all the fun stuff
and thats what im gonna end off with tonight cause i need to rush through makin an animatic- see ya!

OH WAIT I REMEMEBER WHAT UT WAS
I WANTED TO TEKK UIU I LISTENED TI THE BTA OP
first thing i found was gears of judgement so i listened to that one and i like it :D
i watched a compilation of the dub as well and ango boils tuna. that reminded me of the thing in wan where dazai tried to get oda and ango to agree to eat his yaminabe
Ooh yeah! I really like the stained glass style and pastel colors! The vibe is just really nice.
Hehe it's definitely fun to see the correlations between the two. There's a talking cat in the show too and my mind immediately went to Natsume. Plus the bar scene in the opening immediately made my mind go to Lupin...
