FIRST SHIP

hmm. Well the first time I experienced a "ship" was when I watched "Feriha" / "Adini Feriha Koydum" and I've been hooked ever since.

Having grown up watching typical Indian television, Feriha was a breath of fresh air for me with its semi realistic concept. My fellow Indians can probably relate to this, indian television takes the "supposed to be unrealistic" thing to extremes and they are going crazier by the day. it isn't uncommon for one single drama/series to go on for more than 2 years all while airing daily and having special episodes.

Anyways, Emir was my first ever crush and he had an extremely unique name for a 12y/o Zeph(me) (who is now extremely fascinated and obsessed with names). I hold Feriha very close to my heart despite every "toxic" trait portrayed in it and it will always bring me comfort.

LAST SONG

One thing about me is I'm obsessive about everything I do (except studying ofc🙄). Music is always playing in my room and I am the textbook definition of not choosy about it. One of my all time favorite songs in Our Last Dream by DPR Cream and it is also my comfort song. it's helped me sleep, ground myself when I dissociating too much and calm down from hyper situations. I will never leave a chance to not recommend it and I will leave a link for it here.

LAST MOVIE

the last movie I watched was Pink. (dir. Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury). it is an indian movie about 3 girls who were sexuallly assaulted by 3 guys they go to dinner with. the guys take the acceptance of the dinner invite by the girls as a sign of interest.

the movie also revolves around the stereotypical views of the older Indian generations that girl who have male friends, get home late at night, are living alone, willing go out with males are not *good* people and can be termed as wh*res or c*ll girls. it also depicts a lawyer who represents the girls in court and bring them justice.

"These boys must realise that No ka matlab No hota hai. Use bolne wali ladki koi parichit ho, friend ho, girlfriend ho, koi sex worker ho ya aapki apni biwi hi kyu na ho. ‘No’ means no and when someone says No, you stop."

TRANSLATION - These boys must understand that No means No. Then it doesn't matter if the one saying it is an acquaintance, a friend, a girlfriend, a sex worker or your own wife. No means No and when someone says No, you stop.

these are the final words of the lawyer before he rests the case and I will always remeber them. these words hold such magnanimous power, it can't be said better.

FIRST SHIP

Ever? Hmm, before Pacey and Joey it was Anne and Gilbert from the Anne of Green Gables series (books AND Kevin Sullivan’s tv adaptation from the mid-1980s). Gilbert Blythe was my first crush. Anne and Gil’s relationship taught my younger and impressionable self that love was friendship caught on fire and to never settle for anything less; that you can fall both slowly and ardently. Gilbert and Anne set the goalpost for all my future ships, with Gilbert proving that sometimes the nice guy does get the girl.

Also, I cannot imagine a more picturesque backdrop to fall in love in than Prince Edward Island. It’s on my bucket list to visit.

LAST SONG

I’ve been listening to a lot of K-Drama OST lately. I usually have one song on loop for weeks until it wears itself out on my spotify. Last month it was “With You” by Jimin and Ha Sung Woon from Our Blues (fantastic drama btw, I ugly cried in nearly every episode). This week it’s “Goodbye” by WENDY from The Beauty Inside.

LAST MOVIE

I’m embarrassed to admit this, but just yesterday I rewatched Leap Year on Netflix. I shamefully also own the DVD. Gah, *hides face* don’t look at me.

It’s a cheesy, clichéd, and improbable romcom about an American who impulsively follows her boyfriend to Ireland to propose to him on February 29th. Cue the endless mishaps and series of incredibly manufactured bad luck. She ends up falling instead for the stranger who helps her on the way. The script is silly and absurdly unrealistic, but damn if the chemistry and charm of the two leads doesn’t save the day.

My favorite scene is when Matthew Goode’s ‘Declan’ wakes up alone on a bus stop bench and realizes that Amy Adam’s ‘Anna’ has left him without waking him to say goodbye. The disappointment and regret in his body language is so palpable that Anna who is standing behind him watching, feels every ounce of his turmoil. She studies him for a beat before breaking the moment with banter. And damn, Matthew conveyed all this just by the way he stands and very subtly slumps his shoulders in defeat. And Anna’s reaction to seeing him this way is just…so telling that you want to shake her and say c’mon girl, you’re chasing the wrong guy.

It doesn’t hurt that this era of young Matthew Goode is totally my aesthetic. Just look at him. Add to all this the brogue-y accent and WOOF.

CURRENTLY READING

I consume written media the same way I consume music and shows. I devour it. I practically subsist on Ao3 content alone. Lately, it’s been a lot of Red, White & Royal Blue fics in anticipation and giddiness for the upcoming movie.

CURRENTLY WATCHING

I’m in the middle of season 2 of my annual West Wing binge-watch. I’m by no means into politics, but I have yet to discover better American television than Aaron Sorkin’s The West Wing. It’s nearly perfect in its execution.

Currently waiting on a lot of shows to finish airing so that I can binge watch (I’m not making the mistake I did with Bad Buddy by watching it every week, I nearly died). On my list:

in fact, i pretty much only roleplay with plots involved. they can be silly or lighthearted, or dark if you want, but i’m just no good at random starters where two folks who know nothing about each-other just kinda gotta smoosh themselves together. it’s weird sometimes okay. that being said, i’m cool with pretty much any topic and i’m always down for an interesting thread where they Don’t Just smoosh into each-other y’know.

hello! i’m ji-ji, your local nonbinary blob on the internet! i’m 21 years old and use they/them pronouns!

i have clinically diagnosed depression, anxiety, and borderline personality disorder ( bpd ), and i’m currently going to university, so such things can definitely intrude on my reply speed and motivation.

i also happen to be a part of and mod a pokemon rp group, which is my main fandom! considering this is a secondary / side fandom, i might not be on this blog that often. that being said, i’m relatively new to indie rp, and especially that of ace attorney rp. the last time i did indie ( though it was here on tumblr ), was back before we had im’ing, if that tells you anything, so the new landscape of indie and how it works is rather daunting for me, so please be patient

i have triggers, but they’re only brought about without proper warning, IE if you don’t run it by me and it happens very suddenly. these triggers are: major character death, verbal abuse, & emotional abuse — namely gaslighting. again, if this is brought up ahead of time, it’s fine, minus the major character death. please don’t have your muse up and die on me mid-thread.

the only games i haven’t played are Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney and Investigations 2 ( though i’ll get to it… i’ll get to it alright… )

Gonna do my live reactions to MtMtE Revolution and LL #1 in a couple posts so I’m not flooding the tags with old stuff, I’m sure everyone’s devastated, yadda yadda, HERE WE GO, GIMME THE CRANKDATE.

I’m not even gonna lie, this cracked me up. I’m still laughing. I love this brand of irreverence, Idk.

Aaand turns out that’s the back cover. How tf did I end up there?? Well, whatever, still laughing and now at the beginning of the book.

Okay, first and foremost, I need a series about The Big Conversation, I’m not even kidding. I already wanted more of it, now I want all of it. I especially want o see the losers behind these screen names. Assuming that “Cons4Eva” and “TILL ALL ARE CON” aren’t real names, because I would not put it past the Decepti “let’s use our sigil for freaking everything regardless of whether it’s appropriate or in good taste” cons.

The progression of Crankcase’s interactions with his chat buddy is freaking adorable, don’t touch me.

Also, I spent most of it wondering why Con4Eva’s icon was wearing a domino opera mask before realizing it was an infinity sign. Cute.

Grimlock is cuter than a giant robot dinosaur rampaging through a strange town (speaking of-- what?) has any right to be.

Idk if MP3 is an established Joe, as I’ve never been much into the Joes, and I also dk what I think of him. Like, he’s kinda cute, kinda too much?

I wonder if they named themselves or if the holoform program gave them those names. Because on the one hand, I wouldn’t have expected them to come up with passable names on their own, but on the other hand, those names are also better than I’d expect from the program.

n a similar note, re: Spinister being called Dennis-- is the program still “struggling with human gender” or is it just doing better at human gender than a lot of humans?

Honestly, I’m surprised to realize that that babbling bunch of speech bubbles there is Spinister’s, not Misfire’s.

Incidentally, where is the Crankdate? I feel cheated.

For real, though, what’s Krok’s problem? Fulcrum wasn’t even talking to him, he was answering Crankcase’s question and Crankcase’s personal appearance. Like, did Krok suggest the helmet, is that why he’s so defensive?

Also, “Says the Decepticon with a chin the size of Luna-2.” If they’re gonna keep going on about Fulcrum’s chin, I wish he’d be drawn with, y’know, a more distinct-looking chin. Get Derrick J Wyatt on him or something.

On the one hand, poor MP3. Getting left behind like that after being invited has to suck. On the other hand, he just dodged a bullet, let’s be real. They would’ve accidentally killed him within a week, tops. Or Spinister and Misfire would’ve used him to pull some prank on Fulcrum and Fulcrum would’ve very deliberately killed him.

Within a week. Tops.

Okay, so. Huh. I dunno. I felt a lot of things about individual things while I was reading, but looking back at the whole... I dunno. It was kinda cute, it was pretty fun, there were some gross parts. I sort of get the feeling that the bRos were more interested in having a good time together than anything else. Which is fine by me in theory, honestly, especially in a case like this, but that makes three MtMtE finales (well, “finales”) that were ultimately underwhelming.

there’s never gonna be a situation where klavier’s gonna have a healthy relationship with daryan. i’m all for it in an unhealthy way but if you try to make your daryan ooey-gooey and suddenly everything klavier’s ever wanted, it’s weird, out of canon, and i’m not for it. the man went to jail for smuggling shit in klavier’s own guitar and blew it up to destroy the evidence he doesn’t love him That Much.

klavier is a frivolous big gay flirt and he’ll probably flirt with any male muse that’s age-appropriate. i don’t ship klavier with anyone under the age of 20 ( so 21+ for the folks at home watching ). no minors, of course, for obvious reasons, but i’m also deeply uncomfortable with the idea of a 25 year old man being together with a fresh adult. it’s not pedophilia sure but i still find it morally wrong as to why a 25 year old man can’t find a relationship with people his age. don’t try to convince me or i’ll hard block you like so fast.

i also happen to be a part of and mod a pokemon rp group, which is my main fandom! considering this is a secondary / side fandom, i might not be on this blog that often. that being said, i’m relatively new to indie rp, and especially that of ace attorney rp. the last time i did indie ( though it was here on tumblr ), was back before we had im’ing, if that tells you anything! so the new landscape of indie and how it works is rather daunting for me, so please be patient!

the only games i haven’t played are Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney and Investigations 2 ( though i’ll get to it… i’ll get to it alright… )
