it's been a while, how have you all been?

i apologize for being on a hiatus of some sort. and for the rushed and short idia post T-T

it's going to be the start of a busy year for me, i am graduating after all.

i have lots of posts i need to publish and rewrite, but unfortunately my schedule is too packed, and the only times i feel free enough to write are after-school hours, which are 8 pm - 12 am for me.

Worth It

“If you think I deserve love… Why do you think you don't?”

His voice pierces through the air, disrupting the peace that had resonated between you both only minutes ago. It was an unexpected, potentially unwelcome question that could result in an evening of conflict– but it was too late, the question was out, and now you both had to address it. 

Nights like these were common for you two. Not the asking of emotional questions, but the act of you enjoying each other’s company under the stars.

In fact, it was practically a necessity at this point for you two to meet at nightfall to talk, your whispers of mutual love entangling themselves with the ribbons of moonlight that cascaded down on the scene. 

You spent little to no time with each other during the day because of your chaotic schedules, and these moments compensated for the time you two had lost. No matter what you two did, your feelings for him never ceased to run strong, and you never hesitated to tell him that.

However, even if your affection was genuine when directed at him, you didn’t seem to know how to accept love for yourself. If he vocalized the love he felt for you, you seemed to be at a loss for words, and not because you were flustered. Well, you were flustered, but the nagging sensation of guilt was the real cause of your discomfort.

And day by day, it became harder to hide. For a while now, you had been acting more distant at your meetings with him. Your voice lost a little more of its strength each time, your gaze always glued itself to the floor faster than usual, and you always gave him the same lovestruck-but-vaguely-uncomfortable smile whenever he reciprocated your affection. 

So, it became clear that something was wrong, and that the best way to clear it up would be to talk about it.

So that’s what he did. 

He asked you why you had been acting so strangely, despite his mind screaming at him to stop on the off chance that he made things even more tense. He didn’t want to risk losing you or fighting with you, but if he let things carry on this way, he feared your unspoken worry would fester into resentment.

But, when you furrowed your eyebrows and responded to him, all of his worries flew out the window and were replaced with genuine concern and confusion. As you explained why you had been acting off, he realized that you were experiencing what he had grappled with for years. The persistent, suffocating feeling of being undeserving of love. Little did you know, he was only able to start breaking away from that feeling because of you. Because you showed him that it was okay to be human, and to accept the unconditional love of others without feeling guilty about it. 

So why on earth were you feeling unworthy when you were the one who changed his life for the better?

You were worth so much more than you could possibly imagine.

So, in a moment of sheer exasperation, he asked you again.

“Why do you think you don’t deserve love?”

He watched as you let out a shaky sigh, crossing your arms over your chest. Your head fell as you lowered your gaze, and the words you had been so scared to utter finally escaped your lips.

“I… I don’t know. I just do.”

His eyes widened at your answer, heart aching at the sight of the sorrow that was etched all over your face. You turned away from him slightly, your iron plated defenses seemed to get higher with every passing second. He reached out to you, as gently as possible, placing one hand on the small of your back and the other on top of your head. Slowly, he pulled you to him, engulfing your shaking body in his warmth. He wished so badly to dispel the storm that raged in your mind, but he knew that wasn’t how it worked. 

“I… I know how you feel.” He whispered, tightening his hold on you as your arms came to envelop his waist. “But I want you to know that I think you’re worth more than anything this world has to offer. You do deserve to be loved, even if you don’t think you do. And I swear, I won’t stop reminding you of that until you believe it.”

He felt your tears soak into his shirt at his words, fingers lacing through your hair as you began to sob softly. Your silhouettes gently swayed in the moonlight, entangled in each other’s limbs, vulnerability and acceptance falling over you both. 

Pulling back to look at your tear stained face, he wiped away any tears that remained on your cheeks. 

Your tired eyes met his, and he whispered one final lovestruck vow to you.

“I love you, and I always will… never, ever forget that.”

Off the top of my head Genshin Impact and Honkai Star Rail, in both games female characters heavily outnumber male characters and there are several canon and subtext heavy F/F ships, while some of the most popular M/M ships the characters never even interact. In HSR the main plot driving ship is F/F and it's the 10th most popular ship behind 9 M/M ships of varying degrees of dubiousness.

The last time I really saw this discourse was about Dungeon Meshi, when anime only fics about Kabru/Laios began rapidly outpacing Falin/Marcille despite Kabru and Laios not even meeting yet. That example is less valid now that the characters have actually met in the anime, but it was what kicked off the discourse the last time I remember this thing happening.

Finally, Beau/Yasha didn't overtake Caleb/Molly until 2022. I would also argue Caleb/Molly has always been an M/M ship that's sanded down to tropey archetypes.

so two things:

re examples, fair enough, I don't watch anime and it sounds like it might be specifically a genre where this is a problem; I'll try to clarify which areas of fandom I'm talking about in the future since actual play/fantasy spaces I've been in tends not to have this issue.

second, in the post that kicked this off I tried to be clear that there is a difference between "has fewer" than "is IMMENSELY far outstripped by a ship between two minor characters who haven't met". Like, to be clear, I think Beauyasha is great and I think Wido/mauk has essentially zero basis in canon and is actively bad, but it's not like Beauyasha was ever ignored or unpopular, and these are both between major characters. If you are bean counting the precise number of fics, frankly, that sounds miserable and you'll be happier not doing that. Caleb and Jester still have more fics as a romantic pairing than Fjord and Jester on ao3, and yet which wedding am I going to go see live in New York in October 2025.

I also feel like Caleb and Molly was given a similar treatment as Caleb and Essek? like idk it feels like M/M ships (good or bad) still get bespoke stupid tropes, whereas F/F (good or bad) often really get like. one of the two tropes I mentioned, actually, now that I think of it. To be clear, the point I am making is I think fandoms in general are more reductive of F/F ships even when they're popular and even when they're good in canon; I would rather have something that is better (in both canon and fanon) but less popular. wash garbage it's still garbage and so forth.

Hi, my name is Ajax! I'm 18, a college student, and use he/they/neos ( wind/windself, hydro/hydroself & mew/meowself are the immediate go to, but feel free to ask! )

This entire account was started for the purpose of storing my NaNoWriMo projects + I want to use it as a means of interacting with readers and other authors alike! I've very excited to see how this turns out!

This ties into a big part of what this account is going to hinge off of: reader interaction! I'm going to have polls set up for certain aspects of fics, I.E, major story choices, design ideas, AUs, all of that fun! I feel like it'd be a really amazing interaction for us all!

RESPECT my boundaries. I don't have a lot but a big one I ask is that everyone keeps it casual but proper. Please don't attempt anything weird with me or fellow people here. I will let you know if you've crossed a line that you might've been unaware of but if it happens a second time, after I explicitly state things, I will block. I am not looking for that kind of energy.

NO nsfw please. While this account definitely will deal with some dark subject matter ( such as death, violence, so on and so forth ) I do not want any nsfw being present in interactions or asks.

This is just a notice that is related to my inactivity. I have been so caught up with my IRL life I had like—zero time to really get a moment to sit down and write some content on my blog, sigh. I do promise, I am very much alive on tumblr—I check it every now and again.

However, due to all this, I have deleted all the requests that were given to me prior the time I decided to close my mailbox. To that, I apologize. I wasn't really feeling up to the challenge to really write something abt them.

Something To Note About Requests

I am going to being opening them up again, but I will be ignoring Honkai: Star Rail requests for the time being. I have realized that I've lost interest in the current lore that has been dishing out these days. I haven't caught up with Lynx's Companion Quest. I haven't seen Jingliu's Companion Quest. I've decided the best way forward is to really just not take in any HSR requests for the time being. I am okay with talking about HSR—I love the game a lot lol—but I don't think I've found the motivation to continue taking requests for HSR.

However! That doesn't mean my blog is gonna be dead all day long and all night lol—Genshin Impact is still very much on the table! I think I've found the motivation to write BOTH genshin stuff and SAGAU genshin stuff, so feel free to hit me with anything you got! >:) I'm ready for it!

it's mostly because of the hot fandom takes of genshin being the inferior game and stupid stuff like that it made me feel like i shouldn't touch on the topic of genshin whenever hsr talks are going on. i know it's the 'vocal minority' but that vocal minority numbers is the same size as an entire small gacha community already, which is a lot. anyway i think i can share a bit here, since this feels like a safe space for being fans of both games >v<

my oc is a Khaenri'ahn that, if u remember the we will be reunited quest, ended up going through one of the abyss portals during the cataclysm/destruction of Khaenri'ah and lands into the sea of quanta, sleeping for a few hundred years. they were saved by a passing himeko on her astral express and joins the crew as a nameless wandering around, maybe looking for a way back home.

i think the most interesting part about this whole ordeal is how similar being mara struck is and the curse of immortality for the pure blooded Khaenri'ahns so say, at one point my oc is killed in xianzhou and revive, some of the locals there might think they're mara struck but nah they're cursed in a different way

I'm glad you see this as a safe space, anon! it's an unfortunate habit for honkai players, both impact and star rail, to have a sort of... superiority complex when it comes to genshin ;w;

personally while i do like hsr a little more, there's still some pretty great stuff from genshin and i'll always have my fond memories of it.

My pronouns vary, as I am genderfluid, but I mostly go with they/them to make things easier on others. I'm mainly into men, and am a Leo and an INFP.

I'm 5'9" and am basically a VERY pale androgynous twig with birth marks here and there. My hair is rather short and boyish right now, although I'm trying to grow it out a little. It's naturally brown, but I like to color it unnatural colors from time to time. My eyes are blue. The way I dress can vary greatly. My body language seems to be a mix of timid awkward girl and confident dude. I’m almost always smiling or look like I’m confused/spacing out.

I'm socially awkward, perpetually confused, and feel a special connection with loneliness. I can be pretty funny in improv situations. I tend to let others dominate conversations, although if they don’t fill the silence I’ll get anxious and try to fill it myself. When I’m in a group of people I tend to get a little overwhelmed. It’s difficult for me to feel connected with others and I worry even my closest friends will leave me if I slip up somehow. It’s extremely rare for me to get angry, to the point where people I’ve known since I was a kid think I’m incapable of it.

I like rocks, geology, mythical creatures, and fictional characters. I dislike storms, rain, loud noises, and people who are always putting others down.

My hobbies mostly include daydreaming (fantasizing about experiencing mutual love), reading fanfics, playing video games (Genshin mainly) and sometimes watching anime. I also write fics occasionally and draw comics. I can sing too, but I’m nervous about doing it for others.

My love language is physical touch.

I have a lot of comfort objects (fidget toys, key chains, rings, etc) that are extremely important to me and that I always keep with me. I’ll sometimes even bring plushies in the car with me when I leave the house. I’m rather possessive of these items.

Zhongli is the person to go to regarding your interest in rocks! Considering he's the geo archon, he's the expert in this field so any questions you have, he can answer.

He'd love spending an afternoon curled up with you on the couch, warm drinks within reach and reading or watching you draw.

Zhongli loves watching you draw. He's seen so much destruction in his life that it's nice watching someone create something for a change.
