there are also anachronistic potatoes but i know the author well enough to be like. 70% sure they're there on purpose to annoy the pedants to distract them from everything else. which leaves 30% of thinking it's possibly an oversight but that's not enough to be the pedant who points it out

i'm reading an ARC and i've spotted a noticeable continuity error (a character realises that two other characters are related... 40 pages after first referring to one as the other's father and musing on their relationship) but it's an ARC so like. it's probably been fixed. but if it hasn't it's now too late since the book comes out in august. which is also just far enough in the future that i can't just... check against a finished copy. do i tell them or not 🤔
