I see people thinking kazuki and rei's relationship back-tracked in the epilogue, but I didn't see it that way at all personally. the only (shown) photos taken with all three of them prior to the epilogue one are either ones where rei's body language is stiff (my man's so ace and autistic coded love that for him) - AKA the field day and christmas photos - or are less physically intimate like miri's middle school photo. not only that, but most photos shown on the board are more candid photos like the beach and rei + miri sleeping photos rather than family selfies. because of this it feels realistic that kazuki and rei wouldn't immediately go for a hug for a family photo or something along those lines, and the hesitance more-so comes from a place of just generally not being used to posing for family photos still. but despite everything, kazuki does pull rei in close, and while rei's used to kazuki dragging him everywhere, he usually looks much more annoyed/dismayed when he does so. here, rei has the most relaxed smile we've seen in a family picture, and kazuki and rei are more physically close/touchy without miri being in the middle for once. I see that as a clear sign of growth and love in their relationship rather than regression. (honestly, in general, their reactions feel realistic to me personally bc I'm someone who's really close with my family, but both me and my brother often still feel awkward about taking photos HDKFG)

I don't know when exactly Nerdanel left Feanor, so I am choosing to believe that they 'divorced' when Feanor was banished from Tirion and Nerdanel refused to go with him and their sons to Formenos. But I also headcannon that things between them were bad long before that. As in, Amras and Amrod suffered from "Our Parents Should Divorce Already" situation.
