The reader and Ewan finally watch his music video. With some interruptions...

"So the concept to this is very straightforward. It's about Martin, and he's a recluse, an aimless youth of sorts, and..." Ewan's words come out in a nervous flurry as he places your laptop atop the duvet. "Do you remember what I told you about it? I mean... that was nearly two months ago, was it? But - "

You can't help but smile at his endearing ramble. "Baby," you say soothingly, letting him wrap an arm around your shoulders. "I'm sure I'll love it."

He presses a soft kiss to your temple. "I haven't seen the final cut myself. I hope I did well."

"It's already the music video of the year," you say with a smirk, brushing your lips against the corner of his, "as long as you're in it."

His cheeks flush, the sight of it making your heart flutter. You can't resist leaning in to kiss him again. It's meant to be momentary, but his hand finds its way to the back of your head, keeping you in place so that the kiss deepens. His other hand snakes its way underneath your shirt - his shirt, oversized on your frame - kneading the flesh of your waist.

"Kissing was a bad idea," he rasps. "Now I don't wanna do anything else."

"Oh, oh!" you gasp and pull back when his hand starts to inch your shirt upward, "Hold on there, baby. Music video time."

He groans in protest, his forehead resting against yours, a teasing smile on his lips. "Alright, then. But the next time I kiss you, there'll be no interruptions."

"Fine," you roll your eyes. Then you reach out and press play on the video.

It opens with Ewan as Martin, black wig and all, brooding heavily as he scrutinises his slimey pet. You spot something in the background immediately. It's right there for viewers to see.

Before you can process it, the shot quickly cuts to another scene of him with a thin paintbrush in his hand, hunched over some figurine. Then another, and another... Martin in his room, going about his humdrum and aimless routine. You spot it - yourself - flashing in and out of the frame.

To your side, Ewan is silently chuckling at your surprised expression. Your lips are parted slightly, eyes squinting like you don't believe what you just saw. He waits for it, gazing at you fondly, forgetting all about his piece of work playing on the laptop.

You let your thoughts win over, hitting pause.

As if in slow motion, you turn to face him, the question practically bubbling from your lips. "Was that me?"

"What was that, darlin'?" He absently twirls a lock of your hair, trying - and failing - to keep a straight face.

You raise your eyebrows, challenging him with a look that says Really?

He laughs. "Yes, I asked to have a poster of Alyna Rivers on Martin's wall. Seemed fitting."

"Seemed... fitting?" you reply. "A grunge boy with a poster of a medieval fantasy character? How does that make sense?"

"Martin likes her," he shrugs, grinning mischievously, "What can I say?"

"Martin?" you tease. "Or Ewan Mitchell?"

"Martin likes you," he taps the tip of your nose, "But Ewan... is in love with you. Completely obsessed."

You shake your head, unable to fight the rush of pleasant warmth to your cheeks.

"There is a difference, darling," he clarifies in a husky whisper.

You glance back at the screen, where the video is paused on a shot of Martin sitting in the car.

"Well, he is pretty hot," you admit with a smirk. "All dirty and reckless."

"Hmm," he chews on his lip, "is he?"

Your hand moves to press play again, but his own darts out to stop you.

His voice is a low, seductive rumble. "Think you can fix him? Think you can fix poor Martin?"

Your lips stretch out in a sultry smile, eyes glinting at his playful instigation. He nuzzles into the crook of your neck, giving in to the pull of distraction. The rest of the music video can wait; he's in it anyway, he's got some clue as to how it goes.

"I think I can, I think I can," you whisper humorously in that famous playground chanting, desire bleeding through your words.

"Lucky Martin," he breathes against your skin, "should I be jealous?"

Instead of answering, you lean forward, pressing your body flush against his and reclaiming his lips, remembering when he said that the next time you do, there will be no interruptions.

Martin can wait. Or he can watch, in the back of your minds, why the hell not?

You push the laptop aside, then climb on top of your boyfriend, straddling his thighs. He smirks openly, in pure satisfaction.

You ask, "Why don't we give him something to be jealous about?"

Tig Trager

He yawns as he looks at the clock on the wall, noticing the time.

"Damn, it's late. You can take the bed, darlin'. I'll just crash on the couch."

He heads over to the couch and falls, landing on his back. He kicks his legs back and forth dramatically, getting comfortable.

"You don't have to do that Tiggy, is your bed not big enough for two?" She giggles

He smiles and sighs.

"Oh no, it is. I just didn't want you to feel awkward or nothin'. But if you don't mind sharing the bed, I don't mind at all."

He stands and walks into the bedroom, flopping down on the bed.

"But I do wanna warn you. Snorings a huge problem of mine."

He grins, looking up at her.

"And I'm a bit of a cuddler, too."

she laughs, joining him in bed

Tig lays down, pulling her to him. He sighs, resting his chin on top of her head.

Herman Kozik

Koziks girlfriend was spending the night at his place for the first time, and she was both excited and nervous. As she got ready for bed, she couldn't help but feel a little self-conscious in just a oversized T-shirt and panties. "Do I look okay like this?" she asked Kozi, who was already in bed.

Kozi looked up from his phone and smiled warmly. "You look perfect," he reassured her. "I like seeing you in my clothes." He patted the bed next to him. "C'mere."

She smiled back and climbed into bed next to him, snuggling up against his side. He wrapped his arms around her and pulled her close.

"Relax," he whispered, pressing a kiss to her forehead. "You being here is all I care about."

Kozik chuckled and gave her a playful nudge. "You're so tense. What are you worried about? we've shared a bed before and you know i don't bite... unless you ask me to." His eyes glinted with mischief as he gave her a wink.

She laughed, some of the tension in her body easing at his joke. "I don't know," she admitted, pressing her face into his shoulder. "I guess I just want everything to be perfect. I don't want to mess this up."

Kozi's expression softened. He stroked her hair gently and said, "Hey, there's no such thing as perfect. And you're not gonna mess anything up. I want you here with me, that's all. Just be yourself, and we'll figure it out together, okay?"

Jax Teller

Jax had been seeing his new girlfriend for a few weeks now, and he was falling for her hard. But he was a man who was used to living a certain way, and he knew that spending the night together would change things.

He had a rule - he never let women stay over. But he wanted her to, this time.

He watched her as she got ready to leave, his eyes roaming appreciatively over her body. She looked so beautiful, her hair down and cascading down her back, but there was something deeper than just physical desire.

As she looked up at him, he saw a vulnerability in her expression that tugged at his heartstrings. He wanted to have her close, to protect her, to wake up with her in his arms.

"Stay tonight. Stay with me." His voice was soft and low, the words coming out more like a plea than a demand. Jax knew he was taking a chance by breaking his own rule, but it felt right. The connection he had with her was different from anything he'd ever experienced before.

She looked slightly taken aback by his suggestion. She hadn't expected him to ask her to stay, but now that he had, she found herself contemplating the idea. Staying the night seemed like a big step, a move that would bring them closer together. She knew that if she agreed, things would never be the same between them.

She looked back and forth between his eyes, her expression a mixture of surprise and uncertainty. She had never seen this more vulnerable side of Jax before. For a long moment, it seemed like she was contemplating what to do.

Then, slowly, she nodded her head, her mouth curving up into a small smile. "Okay. I'll stay."

Opie Winston

Opie had never been one for emotional attachments they just didn't seem like a good investment anymore. But then she walked into his life. He hadn't been expecting it, but he found himself drawn to her, the way she smiled, the way she laughed, the way she carried herself.

And now, after weeks of dating, he felt something shift. He found himself wanting her to stay the night. It was a big step for him. It would be the first time sleeping next to someone since Donna.

He nervously cleared his throat, looking down at his hands as he spoke. "So, I know we've been dating for a while now, and things are going pretty well, right? And I was thinking... well, I don't know, maybe you could stay the night? Tonight?"

The words came out more like a question than a statement, and he didn't look up to meet her eye. He was feeling uncharacteristically vulnerable, and he didn't know how she would react.

The silence that hung in the air between them felt like an eternity, and Opie couldn't bear to look up. He braced himself for rejection, ready to laugh it off and brush it off as a joke. But just as he was about to speak, he heard her voice.

"I'd like that."

The words were simple, but they were like a breath of fresh air to him. He looked up, surprise written on his face, as if he hadn't really expected her to say yes. But there she was, smiling at him, her eyes warm and gentle.

"Really?" he asked, still a hint of disbelief in his tone. He ran a hand through his hair, feeling a mix of relief and excitement wash over him.

"Yeah." She confirmed with a laugh. "I'd love to spend the night here with you. I just wasn't sure if you were ready for something like that."

Opie exhaled a breath he didn't realize he'd been holding. "To be honest, I wasn't sure either," he admitted with a sheepish grin.

He reached out and took her hand, intertwining his fingers with hers. "But i'm ready now. I want you to stay. I want to wake up next to you."

Chibs Telford

The evening had drawn to a close and it was well after midnight. Chibs was sat on his couch with his lass, wrapped in his arms and cuddled under a blanket, the two of them watching a random movie on TV. Chibs was slowly tracing patterns on her hip with his thumb as they both stared at the screen in front of them.

“Ye staying over tonight?” He asks in a low voice, glancing down at her.

“Yeah, if that’s alright with you.” She responds, tilting her head up to look into his eyes.

Chibs smiles and nods, resting his chin on the top of her head. “Absolutely.” He says, shifting to pull her tighter against his chest. “That’s fine with me.”

The movie continued on, though Chibs was more focused on his girlfriend than the plot unfolding in front of them. Every now and then, he’d place a soft kiss on her forehead or the top of her head and rub small circles on her hip.

Once the movie finally came to an end, he grabbed for the remote and shut off the TV before shifting to look down at her again. “Ready for bed, darlin’?” He asks in a low voice.

Chibs chuckles softly under his breath as he looks down at her already fast asleep, a small smile tugging at the corners of his lips. He reaches out to brush a few strands of hair out of her face before carefully maneuvering around her to pick her up in his arms bridal style.

She stirs slightly, burying her face into his chest and wrapping her arm around his neck. He carries her towards his bedroom, kicking the door open with his foot and entering the room. He sets her down on the bed carefully before going around to the other side to lay down next to her.

Chibs wraps his arm around her waist and pulls her closer towards him, her back pressing against his chest. He nuzzles his face into her hair, inhaling the scent of her shampoo.

As he pulls the covers up over them, he can’t help but think about how nice it was to have her there with him. It had been a while since he’d had a woman spend the night with him and he found himself getting comfortable with the idea. He places a soft kiss on the top of her head before closing his eyes and drifting off to sleep with her in his arms.

Juice Ortiz

Juice laid in bed, shirtless with his boxers on. Rubbing his eyes he looked over at his phone and read the time, 10:46pm. He heard the water running in bathroom, he knew his girlfriend was taking a shower.

He groaned and tossed his phone down on the bed, he laid there staring at the ceiling patiently waiting for her to come out the bathroom.

The water finally turned off, he turned to glance at the bathroom door. He heard her humming. He rolled on his back and groaned impatiently. After 10 more minutes of waiting she came out the bathroom, with her hair in a towel already dressed Juice frowned realising he wanted her to stay.

"What are you doing?" Juice mumbled, she glanced over at him smiling. "Getting ready to go home." She stated.

Juice grabbed her wrist and tugged her back down towards him. "Stay." He mumbled with a pout.

"I can't, i have work in the morning" she pouted back, but Juice tugged her until her back was against his chest and his arm was wrapped around her waist.

"Stay the night." He mumbled into her ear.

"Juice" she whined.

"Just this once?" Juice pleaded.

She was about to protest again but his pout and puppy dog eyes made her melt. "Fine" she mumbled, rolling her eyes and juice smirked.

He kissed her shoulder and tightened his grip on her waist. "Good." He mumbled into her skin. He shifted them so they were both laying down and he was spooning her.

"Juice, you got to let me up so I can change again. I'm not sleeping in jeans," she laughs.

Juice groaned and tightened his grip. "No, stay like this." He mumbled, and she laughed some more.

"Come on, I'll be quick." She said while trying to move. Juice gripped her hips and pulled her back to his chest, wrapping his arms around her torso.

Juice buried his face in the back of her neck, inhaling her scent. He kissed a few spots and then planted one final kiss on her shoulder before mumbling against her skin. "You're not going anywhere."

Happy Lowman

Happy was in his apartment on the couch waiting for his girlfriend to arrive. It was the first time she was staying overnight, and he had spent the evening tidying the place up and making sure everything was perfect.

As the clock ticked on as he sat in silence watching it, there was a knock on the door. Happy jumped up from the couch and went to answer it. Standing on the porch was his girlfriend, drenched from the rain.

"Hey Hap, thanks again for letting me crash here I didn't wanna deal with my roommates drama tonight" she says backpack on her damp sholder.

Happy grins, admiring her wet appearance before pulling her inside and closing the door behind her. "It's no problem. I'm glad you're here."

She shivers, and he wraps his arms around her, drawing her close to him."Cold?" he asks, rubbing his hands up and down her back.

She nods, leaning into him, her body still shivering. "Freezing."

Happy smirks and leads her further into the apartment, towards the bedroom. "Let's get you out of these wet clothes then."

They enter his bedroom and he reaches out to unzip her jacket, his hands skimming over her curves as he helps her out of it. Her shirt is next, and he pulls it off over her head, exposing her bare skin to his gaze.

He tosses her one of his shirts from his draws as she pulls her jeans off. She slips the large shirt over her head and onto her body, the soft material falling down to cover her thighs.

He watches her admiringly, his eyes tracing over her figure. "You look better in my shirt than I do," he says with a smirk.

She smiles and rolls her eyes as she playfully swats at him. "Shut up."

He chuckles and pulls her closer, his arms wrapping around her waist. "I mean it, you look good in anything - or nothing."

"Come on we agreed, no more fun stuff until we figure us out" she pouts looking up at him.

Happy sighs and rests his forehead against hers, knowing she's right. "Fine, no fun stuff. But that rule doesn't stop me from being able to admire you." He runs his fingers through her damp hair, his touch gentle as his hands trail down her neck and settle at her hips. He pulls her closer against him, their bodies pressing together.

"I'm still gonna enjoy having you here though," he murmurs, his voice low and gravelly as he pulls her towards the bed.

They crawl into bed together, under the covers. He wraps himself around her, his strong arms enclosing her in a protective embrace. She snuggles into his chest, feeling warm and safe in his arms.

"Mmm, this is nice," she sighs, her breath fanning across his skin.

I saw your recent post about diversity in Dragon Age (and BG a little) and I want to start by saying that I agree with it 100%. Bioware does tend to have primarily white characters, and any characters of color do tend to have very limited sorts of personalities they’re allowed to have, even moreso for those who are explicitly black. I, too, would like it if they could do better.

I did notice something in it that made me curious though and I was hoping you’d be willing to elaborate further on your thoughts.

You identify both Neve and Josephine as black. Neve as “medium toned” and Josephine as “fairly light skinned” but both are used as examples of black women in your post. But then you say that Dorian is “ambiguously ‘of color’” and Lucanis “could be black with, as said, little-to-no change in [his] storyline.”

But Neve and Dorian are both from Tevinter, and while the empire is large and probably contains multiple ethnic groups, my impression from the games is that they’re from the same(ish) region and are probably the same race/ethnicity. Similarly, Josephine and Lucanis are both Antivan – if she’s a light skinned black person, shouldn’t he be considered the same?

I haven’t finished Veilguard yet. I don’t have a ton of time to play games, so I’m making my way though, but slowly. So it’s entirely possible that there’s more information that comes out about Neve and Lucanis’s background later in the game that informs what you’re saying here. If there is, just say “you need to finish the game before we can have this conversation.” But assuming there’s not, would you be willing to explain why you read the women as black and the men as not? I’m wondering if I missed something, or if it’s just different perspectives, or some other secret third option.

If you’re like, “nah, I don’t wanna spend my time answering this” no worries. Delete the ask and move on. But if you have the spoons for it, I am genuinely curious (and would be grateful) to hear your thoughts on this.

Oh no, this is totally a valid question to ask, it's just a little complicated to answer and I didn't want it to clog up the entire post which was already long enough!

First, I will note that I specifically pointed to Vivienne and Davrin as unambiguously black. I called them this because, unlike the other characters of color, there is no question of their blackness. They are black, simple as that. Neve, Zevran, Dorian, Josephine, they are more ambiguous due to their lighter skin tone and more European features, and thus could just as easily not be black. That is why I pointed out skin tone.

Second, I'd like to challenge something you've said here. Why is it unreasonable to think that someone who is from the same country or region may be a different ethnicity? Especially in a country that has a lot of movement in the types of people who circulate in and out, or that has a culture that heavily encourages that (slavery in Tevinter, the crows in Antiva)? That is actually a reason for a region to be *more* multi-ethnic, not less. I myself am from a fairly German-dominated section of the Appalachias despite the Appalachias having a huge population of the ethnic groups I am actually part of- is it so unbelievable that an afronative and Irish person might have been born in a place predominately occupied by the Amish? That I might have gone to class with Korean and Nigerian students in my cute little schoolhouse on a farm? Believable or not, that's how I grew up. So why would it be so hard to believe that two people from the same fictional country are not the same ethnicity?

But putting those two aside, I think it's best if I compare side-by-side:

Dorian is certainly believably "of color"- though I have seen people argue that he is simply intended to be very Mediterranean and others say he is supposed to be Indian or Pakistani or somewhat vaguely Middle Eastern. This is why I say he is "ambiguously of color" but not necessarily black. Neve, on the other hand, is darker than him and with less ambiguous features (and Dorian at 10 years older is also less ambiguous, tho also less convincingly black and significantly more Middle Eastern or Indian or Pakistani).

I know black girls who look just like her. I know Indian girls who do too. If we are to assume that Tevinter is full of people who look at least vaguely Indian, one has to then remember that India as a country has *several* ethnicities itself and thus it is very possible- probable even- to meet 2 people from approximately the same region of India and yet they look nothing like each other outside of a few traits we in the Western world would clock as Indian.

It's also why I called Bellara our first visibly and unambiguously Asian companion- because the others that could count as Asian such as Neve and Dorian are significantly more ambiguous.

The same is true of Lucanis and Josephine- moreso in fact than Dorian and Neve. Lucanis again could be considered somewhat Mediterranean or Middle Eastern, but Josephine? Lucanis may or may not be a man of color, though I would certainly count him as so light skinned he could potentially be white-passing if I'm supposed to read him as somewhat Spanish or Italian. Josephine is absolutely a woman of color, but what color exactly is where it is a little more difficult to determine.

This is also a fantasy world, so I'm not expecting ethnic features to match the real world 100%.

Now compare the four of them to the two I'm calling unambiguously black. While I could make the argument that Josie and Neve are mixed black, there is no need for argument for Viv or Davrin. They're both black, visibly, easily identified.

Now, the thing is with a mixed race and multi-ethnic population, if Thedas doesn't have the same reasons to keep the colors from mixing, then it is certainly possible that Dorian or Lucanis have someone as dark as Davrin in their family tree even as close as their grandparents. My father is about as dark as Davrin and while my bio sis and I are about Neve in tone, my bio sister's children range from Josie to Lucanis. Her son is fair skinned, blue-eyed, blonde haired, and if you didn't see him next to his sister and mother you would think that little boy had nothing but white in him.

But then, if Thedas does not have the same race politics as we do, then the one drop rule would never be enforced upon someone who appears white with black ancestry, and thus I would hesitate to call that person black. My nephew is white passing, but a similar person in Thedas may just be white. Or perhaps Thedas does not consider human ethnicity the way we do, and would take no notice either way. Though I do believe Viv says something about poor treatment due to her skin tone in Inquisition, but I may be mistaken if that was fandom generated or actually within the game.

All this to say- I would consider Lucanis to either be white (albeit Mediterranean) or ambiguously of color and Dorian to be of color but unsure exactly which ethnicity, but neither of them black. Josie and Neve, on the other hand, read to me as mixed black women.

It was a dark and stormy night when you and Steve infiltrated. The mission started smoothly, but suddenly, without knowing how, everything turned into chaos.

You came face to face with Rumlow; you started to fight; however, he managed to hurt you badly.

You were very weak when Steve found you; with tears in his eyes, he held you in his arms.

“I'm sorry, Steve,” you said in a barely audible voice before closing your eyes for the last time.

Although he tried to take you with him, he had to leave your body there to escape; his heart was broken with your loss.

What Steve didn't know, however, was that Brock had other plans for you. He took your body to one of HYDRA's bases.

*sweats* okay so most of my HC are nsfw because I like my trans characters nasty but I don’t post nsfw to tumblr so let me challenge myself and come up with some sfw headcanons.

— SFW Trans Colm HC —

- do not ask me how but Colm has access to testosterone shots. He takes shots because it’s a bit of a sadomasochistic pleasure. Something so great about feeling a needle go into skin.

- he had been openly trans for a while. Risky, yes, but he has a level of arrogance and actual survival expertise to allow him live life that way. People who would wanna get him for being trans should have higher priorities.

- he is pretty thin by man standards, but has muscle on him. He works hard and his emphasis on upper body balances out his hips and makes him look overall boxy, like a cis man.

- Dutch is trans in this too because I say so and so Dutch and Colm had some trans man solidarity.

- colm is strictly T4T.

(Additionally…. I feel Colm kinda dislikes cis people. He doesn’t care much about anyone, but he felt even less remorse for killing Annabelle because she was Dutch’s cis girlfriend).

- Colm’s brother is cis because I like the diversity of a trans brother and cis brother pairing. People who don’t know who’s who will guess which one is the trans one (it’s a 50/50 chance.)

- Colm can grow stubble but not a strong mustache, let alone a beard. He was clean shaven in his younger days but as he got older, the messy graying stubble just fit his silver hair.

- Colm has been serving cunt since before he was passing as male. He has always been a Tom boy in the sense of he could never stand dresses and never wore them in his youth or teens. Always had to be a shirt tucked into his pants and a polished gun on his hip.

- he looooooves his big furry jacket. Colm rarely gets dysphoria (he is just so confident and has passed for years of his life), but when he was younger and would, he’d wear the jacket to conceal his silhouette. Still keeps the jacket because it’s bad ass.

- don’t question me. The fingerless gloves make him even more trans to me.

- he maybe cut his hair real short early in his transition, but since then never cut it very short. He’d let it grow out since he didn’t care a whole lot about his hair. He could tie it into a pony tail at this point, he passes so solidly that even long hair wouldn’t make people question his gender.

- <3 he surrounds himself with booooooys. Because he likes feeling like he is one of the booooyyyyys. When you’re the gang leader you can do anything, like brewing yourself in the wonderful (disgusting) environment of an all men space.

- ^^ addition to above: having the iron hand over all the men is empowering for him. Pre-transition, he had the guns and silver tongue to get his way, but it is a different kind of power when he can command people and have respect on the basis of being a man in a man’s world.

- ^^^addition #2: some of the men likely do, don’t, or are unsure if they believe colm is trans. He is so old, and look at his face! His voice too, so deep and raspy. How could a woman sound anything like him? Discussion of the rumors is restricted to only distant O’Driscoll camps where Colm isn’t around to punish (execute?) them for the banter.

- does Colm actually care that much about living ninja? I doubt it. He is so rooted on the throne of the life he built that people thinking of him as a woman would only work in his benefit. His enemies would underestimate him, expecting a country girl in some boots. Then, BLAM, a fuck ass slay old grandpa blows their head in.

- he has top surgery! What kind? I say fans can decide. I’ve drawn him with inverted T top surgery scars just because. He likely blackmailed or threatened a surgeon to operate on him. Had some trusted O’driscoll boys (or his brother) with a gun to the surgeon’s head to make sure the man didn’t do anything funny and try to kill Colm.

^^ additionally, Colm’s brother took the brunt of the gang leading while Colm recovered. Swag brother! ((if you’re curious I imagine Colm had small breasts already but he still wanted to be flat flat)).

- Colm could have a phallus (ignoring the history of what trans surgeries did and didn’t exist at that time). I personally think he has bottom growth and just packs sometimes. ^.^ 👍 t-dick is nothing crazy.

—Trans Kieran Thoughts—

I love the headcanon. I have seen like…. One artist make art about it so a lot of what I have thoughts on is just what they drew.

- mysteriously has testosterone. How it is administered is up to audience. I can see him being a gel kind of guy. Just imagine that man all moisturized and happy with his t gel.

- patch facial hair but it’s getting there. He used to dream of having a beard but he’s coming to accept he’ll likely always have patchy facial hair.

- long hair because he actually vibes with it. Makes him think of when his ma would call him her beautiful daughter. While it causes his dysphoria, since her passing he now thinks of it more fondly.

- his da would bond with him over horses and little Kieran cling to that because it made him feel good and he couldn’t explain why (it was a more “boyish” interest/activity and it gave Kieran gender euphoria).

- his fashion is a little bit of jackets to hide his body shape and breathable comfortable clothes (autism.. sensory.. uhh).

- doesn’t have top surgery or bottom surgery but he binds. Is it healthy binding? Likely not…. Idk how easily Kieran could be ninja in the O’Driscoll gang if he had to take breaks to let his puppies breathe. He undoes the unhealthy bandage binder and it’s red from soreness. anyways he has chest puppies and I love them. I think he used to sneak off and find a creek to wash in and make sure he still has sensation in those poor crushed things.

- his voice cracks are mostly just how he sounds. His DIY vocal training is smoking cigs.

- is scared Mary-Beth won’t like him for being trans. Imagine his surprise when she is also trans. T4T for the win.

- wears all black and green when was with the O’Driscolls but in the VDL gang / afterwards he wears more colors and feels better about letting a little chest mound be visible. He doesn’t bind as severely anymore.

- doesn’t wash his horse-pattern chest binder for fear it might shrink or something.

Side note: I know this question was limited only to the NRC boys but for funsies I’m going to comment on Neige, the Dwarves, Chenya, and Rollo who are also students 😂 just at different schools… Let me have this—

♥️ — I would drop kick this kid the moment he starts to mouth off to me 😤 I also don’t trust him to not pollute our shared spaces with Axe body spray. Ace is basic enough to do that.

🦈 — Not a fan of people who flake on me or act fickle. It would be a massive inconvenience if Floyd promised to do something (for example, cleaning or making dinner for us roomies) but didn’t because he suddenly “didn’t feel like it”. I’d be forced to pick up after him or to change my schedule to accommodate, and that can very easily annoy me. Plus, if his own room in the game is of any indication, he doesn’t seem very tidy… @.@

🏹 — Too extroverted. I don’t want to be greeted with his dumb ol’ smiling face or French/j when I come home every day. I’d also live in fear of him watching me sleep at night or him just reciting details about me that he shouldn’t reasonably know (clothing sizes, what I did while I was out, etc.)

👑 — Look, I don’t want to deal with paparazzi or crazy fans following Vil home or something. That’s too much stress for me to take. On top of that, there’s nothing stopping an idiot reporter from printing shady gossip about Vil’s roomie being his secret lover… which could, in turn, attract hate from his followers. Please let me just live without worrying about this.

🦇 — MAN LIVES LIKE A HOARDER 😭 There are other characters with messy rooms, but Lilia literally has tons of miscellaneous stuff everywhere... Living with him also means I have to do the bulk of the cooking or risk playing gacha with my life when Lilia's allowed to be in the kitchen. Not only that, but I'd likely be spooked by him dropping on in at random times of the day--I don't think my heart could take it. Too much trouble for me to deal with on a daily basis.

***Bonus: Neige*** — Same reasoning as Vil. I’m sure he’d be cute and peppy + help out with the chores a la Snow White, but I still don’t want to deal with the stress of living with a celebrity and having to deal with potentially super parasocial fans coming at me just for the association.

♦️ — Cater avoids being on my shit list as long as he doesn’t start begging me to be in his selfies and twisted Tiktoks or to do internet challenges with him. I’ll tolerate him if he gives me free food he got for pics but doesn’t feel like eating because it’s not to his tastes.

🦁 — Judging from how Leona has Ruggie doing a lot of his housework 💦 I feel like I'd also have to do the bulk of the housework to make up for what Leona doesn't do... Aside from that, I think I could tolerate his personality pretty alright??? I can force him to play tabletop games with me :v and get free veggies off of his plate... (He can have my extra meat, too much protein makes me feel sick.)

☀️ — With his kind of wealth, I don’t need to worry about Kalim paying his share of the rent and for shared items (in fact, he’ll probably just buy everything for us both) 😭 but I wouldn’t like Kalim always inviting a shit ton of people over to party… Another major con is that he probably needs to be taken care of since Jamil or other servants usually fulfill his every need, and I’m NOT about that. Him paying for everything somewhat balances out these grievances, but I have pride to maintain and I don’t want to 100% live off of someone else’s money.

🍎 — Nothing overtly offensive about Epel immediately comes to mind, but if this is pre-book 5 Epel then I don’t want to deal with his toxic masculinity. I could leech free apple products off of whatever his family sends.

💀 — I just KNOW this nerd would be up gaming late until like 3 am and loudly raging as he does it, but I'm a pretty heavy sleeper so I think I could put up with it (not that I want to, only if I have to). Idia wouldn’t be that much of a bother to me during the daytime (he probably just holes up in his room anyway)... And hey, free gaming partner, tech consultant, and someone to watch anime with (and then we can argue about who the best character is).

⚡️— Sebek is punctual and loud, so he's useful to have as an alarm clock (I have a tendency to sleep in). He can do laundry, move heavy furniture, and (most importantly to me) brew tea, all things which contribute to the household. But I swear, I SWEAR, if he opens his mouth to tell me why I should like Malleus, I'm going to move out ASAP.

***Bonus: Chenya*** — Chenya definitely feels like the kind of roomie that eats the food you left in the fridge and then claims he has no idea where it went (while there are incriminating crumbs around his mouth). His UM also has potential to make me feel uneasy in the same space (like… he could be anywhere x.x). The only reason I’ll tolerate rooming with Chenya is because he’s a cute cat boy.

🌹 — Riddle’s just... okay. I can see myself getting irritated whenever he's being a stickler about certain rules being followed or things having to be done a certain way (since I hate being told what to do). Then again, I'm also a stickler for certain things (like no outdoor shoes inside the house; always wear house slippers instead). If we can compromise and avoid shouting (assuming this is post-book 1 Riddle), that would be great. If it’s book 1 Riddle… yeah, I’m tiptoeing around him and/or he gets lowered into “Absolutely NOT”.

♠️ — Nothing that notable about Deuce or how he lives, he’s just not a very strong contender for what I’d like in a roommate. Phone calls to his mom aren't so long or so frequent that they'd be an annoyance.

🐙 — Pro: Azul does all the math for us when it comes to the bills. Saves me a lot of hassle. Con: he’ll ask for compensation for every little thing he does. It balances out, I guess.

🐬 — As much as I'd love to have a live-in butler, I don't trust Jade for one second to not be plotting something behind my back. Sure, he's polite and does all the usual malewife things, but I never know when this man has slipped a new breed of mushrooms into dinner to test the effects of its consumption on me (BRO DID THIS DURING MASTERCHEF AND I'LL NEVER LIVE THAT DOWN). Jade also seems like the type of roomie to smile to your face but shit talk you when you're not around 🤡 It's fine, I'm a masochist so I'll let it happen/j

🐉 — I mean. He's acceptable as a roommate, but Malleus feels like the kind of person you rarely even see in the apartment??? And whenever he does show up, you're shocked that you've spotted him. That means I'd basically have the place to myself for most of the time, which is great for an introvert like me.

🐆 — Ruggie’s got tons of experience looking after Leona, I’m sure those skills will transfer over nicely to rooming with me. I guess my only concern here would be fighting with Ruggie over small savings (like maybe a spare coin or the last of the leftovers), because we’re both frugal and want to hoard whatever he can get our grubby little paws on.

🐺 — Jack keeps to himself and wouldn’t bother me 😌 Good boy!!

💤 — He’s quiet when he’s awake and/or half asleep (and honestly, what a mood). Silver would be such a peaceful roomie… plus, all his woodland creature friends basically provide free animal therapy. Since Lilia often left Silver home alone while he embarked on worldly travels, Silver’s already got experience in homemaking and a willingness to pitch in.

🐱 — Grim is this high up only because he is cat-shaped and therefore he is basically a Real Cat. He is my pet now. I will feed him and bathe him and take good care of him. If he shreds the furniture or sets it on fire though, he’s being put in time out.

***Bonus: Rollo*** — Listen, think of the entertainment value of this 😳 Rollo would be that roommate that looks very collected and unassuming, but every so often goes on these outrageous rants once his anger is stockpiled and he can’t contain it anymore. I’d sit there listening to him go off about how magic is evil, how we’d all be happier without it, etc. And like… while I don’t necessarily agree with his rhetoric, the complete character shift to being unfiltered and unhinged is just so fascinating to observe. (… Oh yeah, and Rollo would be pretty good at cleaning since NBC students as fastidious about that kind of thing.)

♣️ — If you give me free food then I will love you forever and ever. Trey gives free food. Therefore, I suddenly love Trey. Jokes aside though, I do see him as someone who has his shit together and wouldn’t stir the pot. He’d do his fair share of chores (including the cooking) and doesn’t have an abrasive personality that would make it difficult to be around him. Bonus, I can ask him for free dental hygiene advice and we can geek out about teeth together.

🐍 — Jamil has a similar domestic skillset as Jade, but the difference is that Jamil doesn’t go out of his way to deliberately cause problems or to enable others to act out. If I let him do his own thing and don’t get on his bad side, I think Jamil would be respectful to me as well. I’ll be happy to eat any of his delicious cooking 🤤 and in return, I’ll be his bug slayer—it’s a good deal!!

🤖 — It’s like having all of the household tools you need in one, plus a security system and a new little bestie 😌 I’d trust Ortho with my life 💕 We also save on the food and water bill since he doesn’t need those things to function, just electricity every so often to charge!

I just wanted to commend you for your ability to select animals for characters. I love seeing your various Yugioh furry AU characters and each animal choice is so perfect in every way from Otter Atticus to poodle Dennis. I would love to hear your thought process when it comes to making those animals pairings or if it's just on vibes.

WAHH THANK YOU i take a lot of personal pride in my ygo furry AU designs and scrying animal species for each character is always a really fun little challenge for me, so that means a lot to me 🥺 this is a great question!

My thought process for these tends to boil down to a combination of "i think this animal suits this characters personality/appearance/etc" and also yeah sometimes it's just vibes, but i DO have a small set of 'rules' i keep in the back of my mind to give myself an extra challenge:

I always try to not copy exact animal species I've seen other people use for a character, and I ESPECIALLY try to pick specific species or breeds of an animal rather than "oh well he's just a cat/a dog/a bunny/a lizard/etc etc etc"--there's so many cool animals out there!!! there's so many cool breeds of common furry species you can play with!!! I like getting into the specifics of it!!! also imo there's Enough furry anime character drawings out there where the characters are Just a brown or yellow or purple dog or cat of no discernible breed, i wanna do my own thing >;3c

(I think the only exception with my furry AU designs so far is jaden, but to be fair 'orange tabby cat' is just perfect for him, also my jaden is fat so he's already not your average Anime Cat Boy Design HAHA)

i also try to not repeat exact species, even across different yugiohs--different breeds is fair game (i.e. poodle dennis, akita yusei, pomeranian bakura, and corgi kotori are all dogs of course but those are all very different breeds!!) but if I use, say, American Bison for Furry AU Gong, I can't go using bison for Axel or the Gore or anyone else later. Just an added challenge for me!

The only time that doesn't apply is with characters who are siblings, I like to use the same/very similar breeds for them (unless they're adopted/there's other factors at play--i havent drawn them yet but Shay Obsidian is a red-throated caracara and Lulu Obsidian is some species of dove/pigeon, since there's dimensional fuckery at play with all the bracelet girls)

side bit of trivia but poodle!dennis definitely came about originally from the "im a big gay poodle" lyric in this chris fleming classic, and then it just turned out that was actually the single perfect animal to make him 🧡 standard poodles are hunting dogs 🧡🧡🧡🧡okaaaaay

ANYWAY to illustrate my process I mulled on a furry species for a character I haven't assigned one yet--in this case, Fujiwara from GX! Since Atticus and Zane are both semi-aquatic animals (sea otter, black swan) I wanted to make Fujiwara something semi-aquatic too, and I also especially wanted to pick out something kind of off-kilter and weird and Nobody's First Choice For a Furry Species Pick (this is often a driving factor for me <3 but also fujiwara is such a purposely weird and ill-fitting character In The Text so it's perfect for him.) I almost made him a green salamander, but I wanted something that could easily preserve his yucky seaweed hair since it's a big part of his design, SO! AFTER MUCH CONSIDERATION--

Are they a fusion of Siffrin and Mirabelle in terms of personality/memories/etc (steven universe style....) or is it more of a plural type situation (or something else entirely)

i cannot really say for certain bc im not plural myself and such but. from what ive heard from friends while talking abt equinox thats kind of the situation happening. DEFINITELY not a steven universe situation. they share a body and. can hear eachothers thoughts (<- vvery disorienting at first. well i mean the everything was the universe jsut kinda scrambled them together and put them together in a human-ish mold) but still are both kinda separate in their head??? odd phrasing MY APOLOGIES.

The goal of our group will be to collaborate to create artpieces together (ex. art style challenge), and collab with each other (ex, 2 artists one base)! This is something I wanna talk about because I have seen writers/artists/oc creators do and I want to talk about it because it really rubs me the wrong way.

If you're wanting to make a "sociopath" or "psychopath" character, what you're really creating is a character who has ASPD (Antisocial Personality Disorder, or Dissocial Personality Disorder) which is NOT synonymous with villainy. Your character is not automatically a bad person or a villain solely because they have ASPD. If you're going for the emotionless, cold-hearted, doesn't care about anyone type of villain, then you can just create that by itself without tacking a mental illness onto it. There's really no need to call every single character that has those traits a "sociopath", not only because the term is outdated and is often taken offensively, but also because it's lazy and insulting character writing/analysis, and very stereotyped for what ASPD actually is. It's also just insulting to those who suffer from ASPD, who may be greatly impacted or disabled by their disorder, to see people use "sociopath" to mean "evil murderer selfish bad guy character."

You're automatically creating a character with a complex mental illness, and possibly a lot of ongoing childhood trauma if you're planning to create a character that's a "sociopath", aka a character with a personality disorder. You ARE obligated to research this illness and obligated to challenge whatever prejudice or preconceived bias you have around ASPD, or else you're never gonna truly come close to understanding your antisocial character. You're obligated to write a PERSON who deserves to be as complex, nuanced, capable of good and bad, etc as any other character regardless of what disorder they may have.

One of my most fascinating and favourite characters has ASPD, and I would've truly sold myself and his character so much shorter than what's forgivable if I treated him the same way I see some other creators treat their "sociopath" characters. Characters with stigmatized disorders deserve so much better than what's often done with them, and those with stigmatized disorders deserve so much better than the same trope we've seen 100 different types and then the label of their disorder just slapped haphazardly on top of it.

This also goes for characters who have NPD aka Narcissistic Personality Disorder. I don't accept prejudice against personality disorders on my blog.

Put your various sona's and appendages together for the unveiling of a lil' something I've been working on while being distracted from animating Dame Aylin's wings (Its long, hard, fun as all hell but the concentration required to do so seems physically impossible for a beast of my genus)

I drew all my moots tavs/pseudo-companions!!! It took a bit, but it was well worth it! Everyone's design is so unique and fun to figure out. (10 is a big number of moots)((which I am very grateful to have :3)) So without Further Ado!!! (there will be so much more Ado):

(page break cuz the images are 400x400 each but 10 times, I also go on for a bit about how much I like each Tav/pseudo-companion character) ((if anyone can give me tips on how to size pieces in a normal style digitally i'd be very grateful))

First of all is Sivvus the Fey Prince (he/him)! This elusive Eladrin Tav belongs to @thedomesticanthropologist! A gorgeous yet seemingly cold-hearted druid who tends to keep his cards close to his chest. Though if you want the challenge you can see for yourself if you can try and get close to him to see if Sivvus is as closed off as he seems to be. To be quite honest, Sivvus really grew on me. A very fancy Eladrin with a high society (fey society) upbringing ( with very good looking mood boards to match) and the like only for him to be thrust into the bg3 world with a worm to boot. He is charming! Also his backstory? <3 Defienetly go read it! 10/10 would draw the snob again :)

Second off we have Gum (He/They)! A Githyanki Cleric of Mystra. Being @piipaw's Tav you'd find this charming fruit lover trying to live a peaceful life after escaping from the creche that raised them. I like Gum a lot as the concept of a githyanki trying to find their own way in Faerun while also having no idea about any of the social customs is very gripping to me. I recommend greatly to check out the blog for Gum fics, fanart and a very cool moot . :)

Next is H'rayn of Verkos (she/her)! Now different from all the character's I drew, H'rayn is not a Tav! She's actually a pseudo-companion character with a lotta lore and history! She even has her own quest, party banter, approval and disapproval things. It's the whole deal!! @githkisser made an amazing post all about H'rayn . If you want a ton of indepth and fun info that's really really well documented, I cannot overstate how much you should it check out! I find myself going back to learn more about H'rayn as she really is as well thought out as in game companions! It's quite fun thinking up of ways tavs can interact with her and the art is mwah!!! very good indeed :3

4th! Tavern (Tav) the Bard! (they/them) This darling bard ran away from the circus.....from birth! Created by @avocado-writing, Tavern plays their way into your heart with their silly antics, warm heart and eldritch pocket dimension in their chest!

Tavern is a doll to doodle and I am amped to draw them even more in the future. The heterochromia and the inclusion of instruments does make them a fun challenge (i will draw instruments accuratley with these paws eventually). Go check them out!! :D

5th! Hvinidyr the Barbarian (he/him)! @star-bear-art (I just realised after all this we aren't actually mutuals. Which is funny since we kinda have the same name and theme with the bear thing XD) If you wanna see wonderous art of Hvinidyr as well as the other companions, go look right over here!

Winnie (Hvinidyr) has a lot of forms depending on the time period you wanna look at. The one I chose was the most recent with the large scar tissue all over the left (right? I'm horrible at directions, my paws don't make an L shape for me to tell). He was really fun to sketch out (and probably later colour in) and has a really unique design that I appreciate :)

6th Vierlin the Enchantment Wizard (and a lil' bit rouge)!!!(she/her) @sybaritick's Tav!!! Now!! This classic drow has a keen intrest in enchantment magic, teaching her crafts to nobles in Amn. After the whole tadpole fiasco, she also finds another use for her multitude of arcane skills. Most notabley depicted with a local wizard.

Now I won't get ahead of myself here but the fics that Sybaritick wrote about Vierlin are like....licking a warm pan of thickened maple syrup or a fancy meat meal with so much demi-glaze you're left smacking your lips for at least 20 mins after eating. Its indulgent. And I couldn't recommend it enough!! Read it!! (it took me a good 8 times to get the 'ie' part of Vierlin's name right, the letters look the same to me)

7th Fink the Spores Druid (they/them) belonging to @causticcontemplation! They're a pretty short Tav a 2.5ft and have a whole modern AU fic about them!!! You can read all about it here! (the pun name is amazing!)

I found it cool to use the fic to figure out how to colour them in, I ended up sending an anon ask instead and it helped great! Lovely Tav 10/10!

8th Korydass the Druid!! (She/her)!!! Conjured by @cfcreative, this seemingly non-emotive bronze dragonborn lights a spark in viewers as her tail and love for nature portrays otherwise. Art of Kory is many and also very good. Reading through her lore is fun watching her dynamics with the different origin characters change as she opens up to the party.

Now I do have slight bias, I like drawing Kory the most since her head shape is less humanoid. It's just so satifying, also her design is crazy awesome to work with so all around its great recommend I like her a lot :3

9th Asheera the Paladin (she/her) produced by @optiwashere.

To be quite honest I wouldn't even have a blog if it wasn't for Asheera's fics. They are EXCELLENT. If you want to go through a journey of a half orcs struggles, successes and gripping romance with Shadowheart, VAULT YOURSELF into Opti's A03 page and devour. You will have negative regrets about it just like I! Asheera is great I love her a lot I am the most normal about her.

This darling plucky bard is the star of an ongoing comic that is very dynamic and very gripping. (My fave panel is this one). Despite being 100, Quin still maintains his joyful and kind nature when traveling with the tadpole gang.

Definetly one of the most friendlies Tavs out of all the ones i've drawn. (he was also the first i drew out of all of these!) He's a delight!! Go check him out! Thanks to all my moots for giving permission, having such great characters and being such lovely moots! <3 <3 <3

Hi! owo Uhhh a few different places. My motivation and my creativity come from different places but they work together to help me do what I do.

My motivation to make comics comes from:

Comments and feedback, I want my art to be a conversation with another person and thus feedback is kinda what I make comics for. I love how as my stories speak, people will speak back.

The fun of drawing, I just enjoy drawing comics like as an activity, it makes me happy, it's a very rhythmic and relaxing process, and thus its a regular part of my days. I just love having the finished page to stare at at the end.

The fervor of storytelling, that shit's my serotonin bro, I just need to write stories, it's an important part of how I navigate my life on like a structural level. It's how I process the world around me, so as my life goes on and stuff happens, I feel motivated to write about it. And comics are the main way I do my writing now.

To keep up w my community, I surround myself w other comic artists and a lot of us work, draw, and create together. It's a sacred bond between artists. u'w'u If I stopped comicking, I'd have like nothing to show them? There'd be no goal to work towards? Most of my friends make comics lol.

And my creativity comes from:

The need to process, as life treks on I tend to have Big Feelings about Almost Everything and writing is how I process those feelings and just, the world around me in general. You input experiences into this machine and I will output a fiction story. It's how I make sense of things and make meaning of my experiences.

The drive to keep improving, I always want my storytelling to get better and thus I have to continuously get creative to invent new ways to write and draw better. It's a never ending process, there is ALWAYS something to sharpen, so I just keep searching for new means to improve, things to tweak, ways something could be better. It's a never ending challenge and I need challenge in my life. It's like something to work on.

Internal experiences, feelings, opinions, fears, hopes, wishes, thoughts, ideas, questions, answers, et cetera.

Love, is definitely involved. Love has a huge involvement in my creative process. It's soaked into so many different, little parts of the process. Like uhhh taking a character through a journey? That's love. Writing new kinds of rep? That takes love. It's kinda just everywhere and it's something I can draw from very consistently cause those Big Feelings I mentioned includes love.

I also tend to write from anger and a strong sense of in/justice. Could you tell lol.

I like to take a lot of inspiration from nature, also. All my backgrounds are just me blowing a kiss to mother nature.

This is getting long sorry but how to harness it all, uhhhhh. Practice. Build habits. Make an effort to get creative on the regular, not necessarily every day, but try to avoid massive dry spells unless you're really not doing well or there's an understandable reason for it. Dry spells are ultimately unavoidable but don't have to define your creative cycle, it IS possible to create on the reg unless you're not taking care of yourself well. Don't only create when you're hyperfixated cause that just builds a habit to do that, if you're not feeling up to it, just do the thing for like 30 minutes and then either stop and chill or keep going cause the momentum will now carry you. I create p much every day cause it's an important part of how I navigate my life i.e. the processing motive and insatiable need for challenge, I can never stop writing now as long as I live cause writing is how I meet those needs. So yeah, just be like me and sell your soul to the gods art! Make the thing you wanna do fun, don't beat your head against a brick wall if that creative hobby you're trying to get into just really isn't sticking, it's not ALWAYS meant to be and it's okay to admit that and just move on and try something new. I tried many different kinds of art before I ever found comicking and it stuck, and now I basically just do comicking and some of my other older creative hobbies fell away. That's fine, that's life, you'll find your thing if you keep searching out new things. Oh, and also get in community, surround yourself w other creatives and consume they're work, trust me you'll get inspired p quick.

Kinda random BUT

I think before I write any AUs I wanna try and write sort of a canon compliant AU or atleast a post HoO fic.

It would probably be Percy centric and I have no idea what it would be about tbh.

Maybe it would be a quest, focusing on his character without Annabeth or Grover there, maybe have some other demigods accompanying him?

Not sure lol. I know in my fics I do want to go into depth and tweak the characterization of some gods (esp gods like Ares, Zeus, even Poseidon maybe).

I feel like a quest would be more interesting though, I feel like I’d have fun making my own prophecy and stuff.

As for the danger level of the quest I kinda realize I’d probably have to make it pretty dangerous. I’d want to involve the primordials not gonna lie. Like they’re alive but not causing problems.

It probably would be sort of traumatic but not as traumatic I think. I don’t think there’s worse I can do than Tartarus but I do have an idea of a sort of æther realm based off of the idea of a 5th element.

Id also want to try my hand at exploring different versions of gods one biggest example being Mycenaean Poseidon, Demeter etc. Maybe a bit of Orphic things too.

If I did have Percy go on the quest I think i like the idea of it being a Sky, Water, Earth trio going on the quest or something similar considering primordials and what not.

I feel like I’d want to limit canon characters to leave it open to new characterization.

It wouldn’t be really long (at least not on purpose) I do want to give myself a challenge before I go into writing my other fic ideas though so yeah.

Just a yap session because I wanted to post today. I like posting about whatever I’m thinking especially about Percy Jackson because non of my friends irl like Percy Jackson so it’s nice I get to yap about it to whoever sees it so when you like, reblog, and comment it makes my day. Going online servers to talk about it are too much for me so I’m glad I brought myself to do this so I apologize if I have a buncha changing ideas a lot.
