idk man i get that oversaturation and corporatization are super irritating but if you don't like certain scps you can just decide not to read them. if you don't like certain adaptations you can just decide not to engage with them.

#part of what i love about the scp community is that anybody can write one (once they've familiarized themselves with the world and the rules #i really like the classic scps the super dark ones and the funny ones #there's something there for lots of people who like all different types of horror that's a little left of center.#and yes companies may try to take that over but it would be v hard for them to blast the original wiki (where they'd get material from in #the first place) out of existence #i think the sandboxy nature of it and the number of entities you *can* add is one of the strengths of the community and the website #it'll always be this crafty thing that you can continue to build on. it's not a walled garden it's an artistic commune of scares.#and that's *why* it's so good.
