could he even call it payroll? to be at wesker's beck and call; well, it beat being saddler's lackey and it beat death, too. the plagas in his body are somewhat dormant now, the strength still there but the mutation - controllable. when he had made the choice to embrace infection, he had made the very same choice never to go back.

and what did he have to lose anyway? parents somewhat estranged and a younger sister strong enough to care for herself. anyone else? kids? a lover? no. and to even suggest it - laughable.

so now he finds himself running errands, a merc once more though this time - specialising in the thing he'd once feared. tracking down experiments and virus' from around the world. some of them freshly made, others - old relics. this one in particular has him trawling an island once ravaged by its own self-destruct function. a failsafe that had fantastically failed. a man could smirk at the remainder of buildings and old facilities that still line the island.

wandering through the wastes, he'd expected monsters. the old familiars of a past krauser hadn't lived. shambling corpses barely-reanimated. well, he can hear their moans, but he certainly can't see them. instead, there's the tap of shoes on concrete, the slow and steady breathing of another man. and then - words.

"huh-" he keeps his knife firm between fingers, follows the other's movement with icy blues "didn't think there would be anybody else on the island" his words see the knife sheathed - krauser confident that should the other attack, he'll have other means of defending himself "...what are you-" he shrugs his shoulders, the curl in the corner of his lip spurred by cockiness "vacationing here?"

come to think it - why is this man here? never mind who krauser is - who's he?

krauser continues, the question conveniently dodged as eyes scan surroundings. whoever this guy is, he's an anomaly.

"dangerous place to hang around. you must live here."
