I feel like Tumblr is the best place where you can experience true Alterhumanity without it being watered-down and scrubbed clean for outsiders.

Reddit is ok but it's pretty bland and empty and most of the users are 13-16. There is still a good amount of misinformation. All you see is people ask for help.

The older forums that are still around though is good for reading back and information but still a bit empty

Discords tend to not be diverse enough or to small. Not very good for talks about Therianthropy as it can be more of a place to share your life and have casual conversation

I think Tumblr is the best as you can see a wide variety of experiences and there are enough informed people to combat any misinformation that might arise

You know what? Fuck the people who say that entomophobia is irrational. No, it's not, you just don't understand how dangerous and scary insects are. How is that irrational? They can literally sting you, bite you, you can get infection and fucking die because of insects, they violate your private space, they can cause you so much pain and discomfort, they can literally fucking kill you. Why is it irrational? Why do you respect it when people speak about their phobias, unless it's entomophobia to the point of panic attack when seeing a bug/insect AND THEN it suddenly becomes funny to shame someone for their fear, to make fun of the things they feel, to say things like "no, you're wrong, they're so cute and harmless they won't do anything to you" or "lmao you're afraid of WHAT?". Had a rough day and managed to turn it into a good day but an event in the good part of the day did rip out my plug (ear lobe stretching. i really think calling them "gauges" is way more succint and recognizable but i think anyone with stretched lobes will shoot you on sight if they catch you saying it. regrettably. i have to use the obtuse language for fear of looking uneducated) and now it is bleedingggg :(

i did a quick google and got lots of angry people talking about blowouts but not "when it looks like a blowout but it's because of violent force ripping your jewelry out" so im just gonna let it simmer with antibacterial ointment for a few hours and then put the jewelry back in before bed and then hope it chills out

I miss forums but specifically, I miss how forums have specific areas for things. like if you weren't done reading a series yet but you wanted to talk about it, chances were there was a spoiler-free section specifically for the first book. if you just wanted to chat with people about whatever, there was an off-topic section. if you wanted to discourse about vriska, you went to the vriska quarantine threads. now I take one step into a fandom tag and am barraged on all sides by 20 different tangentially-related conversations and arguments that I care nothing about
