Can you do a transmale!reader x Harry Hook/Uma
(if you do multiple characters)
Where reader is chosen with the main four in the first movie (kid of Jack Sparrow) and leaves. He’s part of Uma’s crew. And when he’s chosen in the first movie, he’s pre-T or anything like it.
Then the second movie comes along and reader goes back to the isle with the others to bring back Mal. But he really goes because he wants to see his pirates. Except now he’s been on T for about a year now and had his surgeries. So they don’t recognize him and kidnap him along with Ben.
Anddddd I can’t really think of anything else after that. So…have fun with it! Preferably a happy ending, with lots of fluff and sweetness.
Pre-established Uma/Harry and Reader didn’t come out to them before leaving so as far as Uma/Harry know, Reader is a cis woman. So it’s a surprise when he finally tells him who he really is.
And yeah, that’s all. It’s alright if you don’t write it, I’d understand. Thanks!
Are we supposed to know you? (Uma x TransMale!Reader x Harry Hook)
Tumblr media
Summary: You were sent off with the other Vk's to Auradon and when you come back to retrieve Mal, you're changed. You of course go back for Mal, but it's mainly to see the people you left and to tell them you're home. What happens when they don't recognize you and see you as a threat, just like Ben. How will they know you're who you say you are? Pronouns: You/Yours, She/Her (In mentions from Uma and Harry), He/Him Warnings: None Word Count: 2.7k A/N: (Long A/N) Act like Jefferson doesn't exist, I forgot he existed lol. Also, I won't lie, I started this at one o'clock in the morning, and was contemplating how on earth I make this fluff when they don't recognize him and kidnap him. So, unfortunately I didn't get lots of fluff into it, I apologize, I will write a part two to this little thing just for you with only fluff in it. I hope I did the general idea justice, if I didn't, I apologize. Lots of love! <333 (Even if I explained it, you guys would not understand how frustrated I've been with tumblr and my computer. I'm so sorry for how late this is, I've been upset because I had to delay it. It's here now though.)
When Mal came to you , talking about the Isle, you couldn't help but get excited. Your eyes lit up and your smile got wider at the thought of discussing it. Mal noticed your obvious signs of wanting to continue the conversation so she sat down next to you on the bed, looking out the open curtains where the students of Auradon Prep walked. The blonde girl looked over to you, the tips of her hair their typical purple. She sighed and looked back down, messing with her fingers, “Do you ever feel like…” She paused, unable to express how she felt in words. It would’ve been easier for her if you were the first person she went to, but you weren’t.
She went to Evie, Jay, Carlos, but none of them could understand where she was coming from. It was as if everyone was happy with their new lives, but her.
Mal groaned, putting her head into her hands, unable to speak anymore.
You looked at her curiously, placing a hand on her back and rubbing small circles into it. “You wanted to talk about the island…right?” You asked her, tilting your head to see her expression. She removed her hands and nodded, not looking at you. “Yeah.”
“Is it because…you miss it?”
There was a pause, as if the room itself stilled, as if the world stopped. You moved your hand a bit just to make sure it wasn’t some sort of magic freezing everything.
Mal sat up straight, swallowing hard, “I don’t miss the island itself.” She confessed, making eye contact with you, “I miss who I was.” She explained, taking a deep breath, “Do you get what I mean?”
You looked at her blankly, tilting your head as you looked down at yourself.
As you did so, she opened her mouth before closing it immediately. She shook her head and laughed, slapping your arm lightly. “You know what I mean!”
“Hey, I didn’t even say anything!” You chuckled out, putting an arm around her, placing your head on hers. “But…” You began, rubbing her arm softly as she leaned into you, “I do get where you’re coming from.”
Mal looked up, her eyes a bit water, “You do?”
You nodded with a smile, “We went from a life of no no structure, doing whatever we want, enjoying life to…” You blew air out of your mouth, sighing heavily, “Rules, etiquette, expectations.”
The girl next to you stiffened at the last word before she relaxed, leaning more into your shoulder. “I just miss….” She trailed off, shaking her head.
“You miss the freedom.”
“Yeah, I miss the freedom.”
You nodded, thinking for a moment. Soon enough, you removed your arm from her and turned to her, “Then, get it back.”
“What?”
“Show everyone that you still deserve your freedom.” You explained, moving your hands with your words. “We didn’t stop being villain kids just because we started going to Auradon.” You continued watching as her eyes got bigger, “You don’t have to fit into these boxes people are trying to force us into.” You told her, shaking your head, “If they don’t understand that, then they never really understood you.”
Your words seemed to have gotten to Mal as she stood up quickly, a small smile on her face. “I needed that, thank you.” She told you, inhaling softly as she turned to the door to walk out.
You waved and mumbled a small ‘you’re welcome’ once the door was closed since she gave you no time to.
You didn’t think much of it, you just assumed she would do something to show people that she was still herself even if she wasn’t ‘evil’, or necessarily ‘good’.
Well, you didn’t think much of it until the next day when the VK group and Ben bursted into your room. You jumped, shoving a paper under your pillow as you clutch your chest. “Last I checked, knocking wasn’t a foreign concept.”
Evie mumbled a small apology as the rest stood with apologetic but serious faces.
You sat up since the air was so tense, tossing your legs over the bed to stand in front of them, “What’s up?”
“Mal left for the Isle.” Carlos blurted out, blinking rapidly as he looked everywhere but you.
Ben looked down with a guilty face, a frown placed on his lips. “We had a fight…” He mumbled, “She said I didn’t understand how…” He paused, clearing his throat, “She said I didn’t understand her.”
Your eyes widened and your mouth fell open at the realization and of the conversation you had with her.
Jay noticed your expression and knitted his brows together, “What?”
A harsh cough left your throat as you looked away from them, “I might’ve had something to do with that.”
The group simultaneously yelled, “What?!”
Your hands raised in an automatic surrender, “Hey, she came to me talking about the Isle,” You began your explanation, “and I miss my
Evie wasn’t pleased to say the least, she crossed her arms with a raised brow. “We are your people.”
You almost laughed, but given the situation you decided not to. “I miss my people.” You specified, your words reminding the group that all of you weren’t exactly the bestest of friends back on the island.
They couldn’t say anything, they knew you were right. Ben didn’t exactly get the message, and that reminded you all of why you were gathered in the first place.
You agreed to go to the Isle to help Mal.
You agreed, but you weren’t really going to help Mal. She lived there her entire life, you knew she would be fine. She knows her way around the island, she practically ran it. You weren’t going to the Island to help Mal, you were going home.
Once all of you reached the island, you thought you would all spread out to find Mal…that wasn’t the case. You all went in a suspiciously large group to find the daughter of Maleficent, something you thought was stupid.
You thought it was stupid, but you all still found where she was hiding out and Ben went to talk to her.
Evie, Jay, and Carlos all talked to each other as you scanned the area, kicking the ground slightly as time passed by. You were barely on the island and now you all were going to leave. It wasn’t how you wanted things to go, nothing was how you wanted to go.
Ben walked out and before anyone could question him, he walked straight past you guys. Everyone looked at each other and you sighed, “I’ll get him.” You grumbled, jogging after him.
“Ben!” You yelled, trying to catch up to him. “Ben, wait up!” You yelled once again, finally reaching him, placing a hand on his shoulder. “What happened? Why are you so upset?”
“She doesn’t want to come with us, all of this was for nothing.” Ben spoke harshly, ripping his beanie off his head and throwing it to the ground.
You sighed, picking the beanie up, dusting it off. “Ben, do me a favor.”
“What!”
“Look around right now.” You told him, gripping the beanie tightly. He looked at you confused but you repeated, “Look around right now.”
Ben regulated his breathing, calming down enough to look around. It was cramped, cluttered, dirty even. It wasn’t properly cared for but the people around seemed to be having a good time nonetheless.
When he looked back at you, you were looking at the children running around, trying to find a way to pick-pocket Ben. “This is how we grew up Ben…” You mumbled, finally making eye contact with Ben, “You can’t expect Mal, the daughter of the biggest villain who was on this island, to just snap into a princess.” You explained to him, shaking your head.
Ben turned, looking at the area around, “I didn’t realize…” He whispered, eyes flickering to something new the more he looked.
When the son of Belle and the Beast turned around to face you again, you were nowhere to be found. He turned around quickly, breath picking up the pace as he looked for you, “Where’d you go?” He called out, spinning in a circle until he felt a tap on his shoulder. He let out a sigh of relief, “Come on, that wasn’t fun-” The next thing he knew, everything went black.
Blurry eyes opened, a dry throat let out a cough, and vision restored. Ben looked around for a moment before his gaze fell on you. You were sat with a blank expression, seemingly uninterested in your current situation.
Ben muttered a few incoherent sentences but you cut him off for a moment.
“Getting kidnapped was not on my vacation bucket list.”
Neither of you could even begin a conversation after your words when someone started laughing. The two of you looked up and saw someone had walked in, seemingly amused at your situations.
“Absolutely hilarious, you’re quite funny.” The male said, looking you over a bit before turning his attention to Ben to do the same thing.
Your brows furrowed as you broke out of whatever ‘trance’ you were in. “Harry?” You asked aloud, adjusting yourself to get a closer look at him.
He pointed his fake hook to you, placing it under his chin. “How do you know my name?”
“How does who know your name?” A voice called from behind the boy, footsteps getting louder as they neared.
Harry tilted his head, “This one.” He spoke, moving his hook from under your chin to step back.
The person that walked in was a girl, she had light blue braids and brown eyes. She stood tall with the hat of a pirate on.
Your brows furrowed once again, your mind still a little fuzzy from your current situation. “Uma?” You mumbled out, tilting your head.
“You know these people?” Ben suddenly spoke out, trying to get out the rope that tied his hands behind his back.
You looked over at him, a bit unimpressed. “I was raised here, I know everyone here.”
Harry gasped falsely, fake hook over his heart, “You’re a VK?” He asked, not expecting you to answer, since he didn't believe you.
You nodded, forgetting that you look different so they don’t recognize you. “Uh, yeah.” You spoke as if it were obvious, “Born and raised.” You spoke, trying to jog their memory. “Uma, I was in your shop every single da-”
“Oh, and are we supposed to know you because of that?” She asked with a straight face, squatting down to bore her eyes into yours.
You took a deep breath, closing your eyes before opening them again, “If you said you didn’t, I’d be questioning our friendship.”
Your captors both laughed, looking at each other, “Friendship?”
Ben decided to give up, still listening to the conversation. So much was running through his mind, he was trying to figure out how to get out of this situation until…he realized something. You knew these people, you guys were friends, they just didn’t recognize you. If Ben reminded them, maybe they would let you guys go.
He thought it over before blurting out, “He’s the child of Jack Sparrow, so yes he is a villain kid.”
Everyone went silent, their laughs were quiet, and your breathing stopped at Bens sudden exclamation.
You looked over and Ben looked you up and down, and that is when you realized…they don’t know who you are. You had changed so much in the past year, even your voice was different. How did you just expect them to recognize you?
When you looked back at the two pirates, they were staring you down. If looks could kill, you would be six feet under.
Uma squatted down in front of you, glaring harshly, “Don’t you ever disrespect her like that ever again.” She whispered to you seriously, her head whipping to Ben, “Don’t you ever mention her in front of me, again.”
Harry took a few deep breaths, “She would’ve been fine here, and you took her.” He told Ben, poking his chest with his hook. “If you ever try to lie to us, I will gut you like a fish.”
Uma nodded to the statement, “You think we wouldn’t know her family?” She asked you, tilting her head. “Jack Sparrow had one child, a daughter, and she’s never coming back.” She paused, biting the inside of her cheek, “For you, a preppy, to just try to claim her father as your own for some sense of freedom…it’s disgusting.”
The blue haired girl stood slowly, keeping her eyes on you. You finally released the breath you were holding, when she removed herself from your space.
You blinked back a few tears as they turned to walk out the door. Harry gently took Umas hand, whispering some things that you couldn't hear.
They were so good together, they still defended your name even if they thought you weren't there. You didn't expect your chest to hurt so badly when they protected you, even if they believed you were gone for good.
“I would’ve joined your crew even if I lost that race.” You mumbled, looking at their backs with sad eyes.
The two paused before turning to you, “Excuse me?” Uma asked, standing in place.
“The race..” You trailed off, “If you won I would join your crew, if I won you would have to spend a week proving to me how much you wanted me to join and then I’d give you my answer.” You continued, nodding with your own words. You didn't notice how they continued to walk towards you. You continued on, “Unfortunately, I was dragged to Auradon before I could answer you, so I’m doing it now.” You told them, looking up to see both of them analyzing you with parted lips, “I was going to join your crew anyways.”
Umas eyes were focusing on each of your features before she cupped your face, looking at you more intensely.
Harry looked up, making eye contact with you, “You have her eyes…” He muttered, taking off his hook to trace your cheeks.
You swallowed harshly before breathing out a chuckle, your cheeks warming a bit. “I would hope so, I was born with my eyes, guys.”
Uma shook her head, “But she’s… you’re not…”
“A girl…I know.” You whispered out, looking down, or trying to. Harry picked your head back up swiftly.
His eyes were watering slightly, “You’re telling the truth aren’t you?”
You nodded as best as you could with his hands on your cheeks. “I know I don’t look the same…”
He shook his head, “But you’re still you…”
Uma quickly untied the rope keeping you tied up, trying her best to go quickly. She had ordered her crew to tie your guys up from your arms to your legs, and now she was regretting it. Harry noticed her struggle and began to help untie you, muttering curses when he got to harder knots.
Once you were untied, you rubbed at your wrists, looking down for a moment at the burn.
You looked up, finally, and were met with Harry and Uma on their knees, staring at you. Their eyes were teary, their chests were rising and falling deeper than ever, neither could speak.
You felt your own eyes begin to water as you rushed forward, wrapping your arms around the both of them.
Harry's arm immediately went around you, he began to cry into your shoulder, holding you tightly. “We thought we’d never see you again.”
Uma, on the other hand, was hesitant. She slowly wrapped her arm around you. When she did, she felt a rush of familiar comfort, a heat rushing through her chest, something she only felt with Harry and…you. She bit her tongue so as to not cry as she buried her nose into your other shoulder, “We would’ve found a way to you anyways.”
The warmth of the two enveloped you as you finally got to be near them again, as you finally got to feel their comforting arms again. “I have no doubt in my mind that you would’ve found me again.” You whispered to them, trying to hold them tighter.
Harry rambled on about never leaving them again, Uma ran her fingers down your back, both of them weren't letting you go anytime soon.
Uma sniffled a bit, "We missed you so much."
"I missed you guys too, more than you'll ever know."
You were finally with your people again. Now, you didn’t have to stare at a picture of the three of you, wishing they were in your arms.

Hi, how are you? Could you write Harry Hook and male reader? The reader is Audrey's brother and super shy, and he meets Harry when the group of VKs went to save Ben.
HOWDY THERE, I'm alright thank you for asking :D I hope your doing good as well, but I can DEFINITELY do this, I'm so happy that my descendents work has been liked by the fandom and its time for the FIRST ROMANTIC FIC YAYYY so I apologize if its not amazing, lmk if there's anything I can do betterr
-SEEN-
Harry Hook x Male!Reader
Warnings: None (lmk if that's wrong)
Audrey Rose, the most popular and recognizable child of Aurora and Phillip. But not many people know or realize that she has a twin brother, Y/N.
He doesn't blame people for not knowing his lineage, he was the complete opposite of his sister. He preferred comfort over style, singularity instead of popularity, and quiet rather than loud. The only one Y/N really talked to was Ben, who would often hang out with the twin when he courted his sister. But even when the VK'S came and he got with Mal, Ben still showed his friendship and even introduced him to the darker group.
And Y/N loved the VK'S.
They just didn't care, and he admired that, without having to talk to much he became close to the small group. They almost took him under their wing and looked out for him. Basically, he never had any issues with Chad once the VK'S started hanging out with him.
So when he heard about Mal running back to the isle and the plan to get her back. He begged to go along. Ben disagreed at first but with some convincing Y/N was allowed to go with.
He had never been so excited for something before, as Evie dressed him and Ben up the clothes felt so nice, the darker tones of red and grey felt suiting, she even made his outfit to be incorporated as a hoodie which he loved.
And then finally they were off.
Ben was very nervous about being there, but with some guidance from Evie, Jay, and Carlos, they got the ways down quite quickly.
They finally made it to Mal's hideout, and Ben went up to talk to her. Y/N waiting for him to return at the bottom of the steps with the others. Though the stomping of his footsteps proved their conversation didn't go to well.
"She's not coming." Ben said annoyed and stomped off through the streets. The others paced and tried to get the attention of Mal. But Y/N ran off to catch up with Ben.
After a small jog he's back at his side, "T-try not to worry to much Ben. Mal's going through a lot, I'm sure she'll come around here soon." He said in a soft tone, trying to comfort the soon to be king.
But Ben just sighs and shakes his head, "I doubt she will, I pushed her to far.."
The two turn a corner, when suddenly they see 2 other shadows, with a low chuckle one spoke. "Well ain't this just perfect, Uma will be please with this catch. A king and a prince, aye now that's somthin' special."
They step into the light, the taller one had a kind smile on his face surprisingly, his eyes set on Ben. "I knew I recognized you Ben! My dad wishes yours would rot in the underworld by the way." Y/N was confused by the guys happiness, and turned to look at the one the spoke earlier, only to find his eyes already on him.
The boy in the red coat smirked, twirling the handheld hook in his hand. "That you did Lad. Now, lets get this crown an' beauty to Uma." And then everything went black. But Y/N wasn't scared, he only thought one thing.
Did that VK really recognize him?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Y/N slowly opens his eyes, the smell of salt water stinging his nose. He squinted and looked around, eyes adjusting to the light, he tries to move, but he finds himself tied up to a pole.
A light chuckle makes him look up, "Welcome back sleepin' beauty, sorry ya didn't geta kiss like your mum." The boy from earlier smirked, but instead of feeling threatened, Y/N's heart skipped a beat, cheeks turn a light shade of red.
"...w-who are you?" He asks in a small voice, earning a large smile from the other boy. "How rude of me, tha names Harry, and I'm sure this piece o' metal can help ya fill in the rest." He answers, twirling it around once again.
He just nods, putting together he was Captain Hooks son. "Your a quiet one aint ya. Never really talkin' much at those fancy meetings up there." Harry comments, a teasing smirk on his face as he looks him up and down.
Y/N's eyes widened at that, "You've.. noticed me? You know who I am?" He asks in such a quiet voice it was barely a whisper. And he watches as Harry's face falls for a second. He goes to answer when Ben starts to wake up. And that crazed facade comes back as he turns his attention onto the young king.
After a few minutes though the other boy who helped capture him who he learned to be Gil announced Mal and the groups arrival. They had actually brought the wand. But when she pretended to use it on dude, Y/N knew that something wasn't right.
But Uma believed it.
Harry cuts the ropes off of Ben and Y/N, complaining about how his fun was ruined, though it felt almost as if his touched lingered a little longer than normal when he cut the ropes off of Y/N.
Then Mal and Uma trade, and the two royals were back with their group.
Mal starts trying to rush Ben away as Uma attempts to use the wand, and like he suspected, it didn't work. And then a big fight breaks lose.
Y/N fights, but nothing to harm anyone, he couldn't do any such thing. Finally they get space between them and the pirates and are getting ready to make an escape, until-
"BEAUTY!!" Y/N hears Harry yell, he looks back and makes eye contact with him, the pirate smirks, still dripping wet from grabbing his hook out of the water, clothes clinging to his body.
"I always noticed ya!" He yells again, answering Y/N's question from before.
He felt is face flare up and his heart drop as he stare into the other boys eyes. Only for the contact to be broken by Jay pulling him to follow out.
In a daze Y/N followed, mind and heart hooked on the pirate that had noticed him..
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
YAYY I loved this sm I hope you do tooo, and anon I hope this makes your day dreams a little easier to imagine <3
-Also, if anyone's interested, I'd be willing to make this a part two?? Tell me if I shouldd-
Lmk if there's anything I can do to improve I welcome any and all help, also, PAUSE. RN. GET A SNACK. Reading is so fun on a full stomach, but anyways, HAVE A GOOD DAY/NIGHT MY GOOBERS, happy readingg 👾

Apple of My Eye Chapter Two
Eventual! Harry Hook x Child of Snow White! Reader
Chapter Two: Friend Like Me
Summary: (Y/N) and the VKs get along very well, even if other Auradon kids are avoiding them.
            (Y/N) grimaced as they walked towards the “Remedial Goodness 101” classroom. They wished they had known about the class before Evie, Carlos, Mal, and Jay arrived. Then they could have said, “No, that’s a terrible idea for a class because it’s demeaning and horrible and also says to their face that we think they’re stupid and already evil.”
            Unfortunately, it was done, and the VKs were stuck in the class. Fortunately, the hour was up, and (Y/N) got to save them from Fairy Godmother’s cliches and take them to their next class.
            “You find a vial of poison!” said Fairy Godmother dramatically. “Do you: A, put it in the king’s wine? B, paint it on an apple?—” Laughter from Evie, non-malicious, and the others— “Or C, turn it over to the proper authorities?”
            “Obviously paint it on an apple,” said (Y/N) as they walked into the room. “Because who is silly enough to take an apple from a stranger?” They laughed.
            Evie chuckled a little, Mal snorted, and Jay and Carlos grinned. Fairy Godmother sighed, used to (Y/N)’s humor, and put on a smile.
            “Is our time up already?” said Fairy Godmother.
            “You’re the stickler for time,” said (Y/N). “It’s time for gym for Jay and Carlos, and Evie and Mal have English with me.”
            “Alright, don’t be late,” said Fairy Godmother, waving as her students packed up to leave. “And remember to be good!”
            “I’m really sorry about that class,” said (Y/N). “I think Ben was pushed into allowing it so that everyone would relax.” They sighed. “At least it’s an easy A.”
            “Pick the least fun option is the answer key,” said Mal, smirking. She’d already figured it out.
            (Y/N) chuckled.
l
            “Welcome to our poetry class,” said (Y/N), sitting down at a table. Evie and Mal sat across from them.
            “We have to write about our feelings?” said Mal, unimpressed.
            “No, we can write about anything. Today’s a free day,” said (Y/N). “We can either read the assigned pieces—we’re currently reading about poems on nature and how some social classes look at nature positively due to their position while others look at it negatively—or we work on our own pieces. At the end of the year we’ll have a curated collection to show growth and understanding of various techniques.”
            “I’m still not going to make it…sappy,” said Mal.
            “Do spells have a cadence?” asked (Y/N).
            “Yes,” said Mal. “Obviously. Otherwise you’re just talking.”
            “So spells are poems with magic,” said (Y/N). “Try making your own spell.”
            “And it can be anything?” said Mal, considering now. She could create an evil spell to impress her mother with.
            “Preferably not a curse, I don’t think anyone would appreciate that,” said (Y/N).
            Mal hummed noncommittedly. She’d behave in front of everyone, but her mission was clear. She would make her mother proud.
            “I’m going to write about finding my prince,” sighed Evie. “And castles. And ballgowns.”
            “You’re going to love your arts elective,” said (Y/N). They smiled. “It’s design.”
            Mal could have sworn she saw hearts in Evie’s eyes and decided to erase the disgusting sight from her memory. And she pushed away the smile that twitched at the edges of her lips upon seeing her best friend so happy.
l
            “I can use any of this,” said Evie, staring at the rolls upon rolls of fabric before her.
            “Yeah,” said (Y/N) as they sketched. “And if you’re part of the design club, you can come any time during the day, not just your class.” They smiled. “Most people in this class do it to learn small DIYs, they still like their personal tailors and everything, but some people have made formal gowns and suits here, too.”
            “I’m going to make a whole new wardrobe,” said Evie, flipping open her sketchbook and getting to work.
            (Y/N) smiled.
l
            “You don’t have to work with me,” said Mal coldly as she measured the chemical they were about to combine in the flask. Chemistry required a lot of close attention.
            “You needed a partner, and everyone else here knows someone,” said (Y/N), holding the flask steady.
            “You mean no one wants to work with the Villain Kid,” said Mal, straightforward. “And you’re assigned to us.”
            “I volunteered,” said (Y/N).
            Mal paused and looked at them. “You volunteered?” She didn’t believe it.
            “Yeah,” said (Y/N), smiling.
            “Why?” demanded Mal.
            “Because I think Ben’s right,” said (Y/N). “You and all the other children born on the Isle aren’t at fault for what your parents did. You deserve freedom, a chance to live your own story.” They smiled. “So I volunteered to work on the project. I want you, Evie, Carlos, and Jay to do well here so that Ben can bring more kids over.”
            “And yet he chose the worst and the worst to start out with,” said Mal.
            “Go big or go home, right?” said (Y/N), chuckling.
            “My mom tried that by turning into a dragon, and I think she got the ‘go home’ option. She’s still not over that,” remarked Mal with a grin.
            “My mom had to create a pros and cons list for eating nectarines because they’re a cross of peaches and apples, and she’s still suspicious of all apples,” said (Y/N).
            The pair looked at each other before laughing.
l
            “How do you think things are going?” asked Ben excitedly. “I think Jay is interested in Tourney, and Carlos likes Dude!”
            “That’s great,” said (Y/N), smiling.
            “I saw Mal with Jane. Are they friends?” said Ben, a large grin on his face. “This is going so well.”
            “Slow down,” said (Y/N). “It’s only been a few days. Things are still settling for them.”
            “But it has been going well,” said Ben.
            “Well, they’ve been doing well in classes, which is good,” said (Y/N). “And Jane and Mal have hung out more.” They frowned. “Even if it is because Mal did Jane’s hair…” They were a bit hesitant around beauty magic due to the…lengths some people went with insecurities—someone trying to murder your mother over looks would make you unsure about that magic—but it was just hair, right? And it was a nice thing Mal did. “But Jane seems happier, and Mal was only hanging with the VKs and me before that, so I guess it’s a step. And Evie spends time with Doug. And Chad, unfortunately, but he’s harmless other than having a pretty face with no real brain.”
            “You spend a lot of time with them,” said Ben. “You guys seem to be real friends.”
            “Jealous?” said (Y/N), glancing at Ben. They knew he spent a lot of time checking up with Mal when he saw her.
            He coughed and turned a bit red. “Jealous? No, just concerned. I want to make sure they’re doing well.”
            “Uh-huh,” hummed (Y/N).
l
            “Mom said, ‘If a boy can’t see the beauty within, then he’s not worth it,’ ” complained Jane. “Can you believe it? What world does she live in?”
            “Auradon,” said Mal.
            “Jane, do you want a man who only wants beauty or one that loves all of you?” said (Y/N).
            Jane sighed. “All of me. But they all want beauty, too.”
            “You are beautiful, Jane,” said (Y/N). They wished their friends could see their own beauty, inside and out.
            “Says the child of Snow White, the most beautiful woman ever,” grumbled Jane.
            “Does it look like I got those genes?” said (Y/N), leaning on their hand.
            Jane huffed. “Still better than me. I got stocky fairy genes.”
            “Mal, (Y/N), what do you think?” Evie held up her latest creation, a black and blue dress.
            “It brings out your eyes,” said Mal.
            “It looks nice,” said (Y/N).
            “I know,” said Evie proudly.
            “I’ll never get a boyfriend,” bemoaned Jane.
            “Boyfriends are overrated,” said Mal.
            “How would you know, Mal? You’ve never had one,” said Evie.
            “It’s ‘cause I don’t need one, E,” retorted Mal. “They’re a waste of time.”
            Evie gasped at the mention of time. “I forgot to do Chad’s homework!”
            “And that is exactly what I mean,” said Mal.
            “Evie, you shouldn’t do it for him,” said (Y/N). “He is not worth it.” Evie was worth so much more than just her looks, and that was all Chad would look at.
            “What, is he a bad ex?” said Mal, smirking.
            “No, he’s just a shallow idiot,” said (Y/N). “Think male version of Audrey but less sharp.”
            Mal snorted at the description.
            “You always land great partners,” said Jane. “That’s why you don’t worry like I do.”
            “I’ve had two dates,” said (Y/N), shrugging. “And neither of them were right for me.”
            Evie put down Chad’s homework to grin. “Spill. Who?”
            “Princess Ariel and Prince Eric’s son and Prince Naveen and Princess Tiana’s daughter,” said (Y/N).
            “You dated two royals?” Evie sighed. “Lucky.”
            “I went out on one day with each, but neither gave me a real spark. I just felt content. I didn’t feel alive,” said (Y/N). They smiled. “I’m still waiting to find True Love.”
            “True Love, huh? If it hadn’t defeated my mom, I wouldn’t believe in it,” said Mal.
            “It is pretty rare,” admitted (Y/N). “But it would still be nice to find it.”
            Evie smiled softly. “Yeah.”
            Knock-knock.
            Lonnie, (Y/N)’s friend, knocked on the door of the room and peeked inside.
            “Hi,” she said, smiling at everyone. “I’m Lonnie. My Mom’s Mulan? No? Anyways, I love what you’ve done with Jane’s hair.” Lonnie grinned at Mal. “And I know you hate us, and, well, you’re evil—” (Y/N) frowned “—But do you think you can do mine?”
            Mal frowned. “Why would I do that for you?”
            “I’ll pay you fifty dollars,” said Lonnie.
            “Good answer.” Evie took the money. “I need to buy more material. Let’s see…I’m thinking we’ll lose the bangs, maybe some layers, and some highlights.”
            “Yeah, yeah, I want it to be cool,” said Lonnie. “Like Mal’s.”
            “The split ends, too?” said Evie. Mal glowered, and Evie just smirked and shook the money at her.
            Mal sighed, grabbed her spell book, and flipped through it. “Okay…‘Beware, foreswear, replace the old with cool hair.’ ” She drew a design in the air with her finger.
            Lonnie’s hair became a lighter brown and cascaded down her shoulders in soft curls. She touched the soft locks and looked into the mirror. Her eyes widened.
            “I know, I know,” said Evie. “It looks like a mop on your head. You know what, let’s cut it off. Layer it—”
            “No, no, no,” said Lonnie, grinning. “I love it.”
            “You do?” said Evie.
            Lonnie grabbed the edge of her skirt and ripped. Now she had a slit in her skirt. “Now I’m cool,” she said proudly.
            Jane walked up next to her and looked in the mirror. She grabbed the hem of her skirt. She tore. Then, she gasped. “What did I just do? Mom’s gonna kill me.”
            “She won’t, it’s just a skirt,” said (Y/N), waving a hand.
            “Thanks, Mal,” said Lonnie. She smiled. “I’m going to tell all the girls. Bye!” She left the room. Jane hurried out after her, already trying to figure out what to tell her mom about her skirt.
l
            (Y/N) yawned as they walked towards the dorm kitchen. They were starving, and they’d run out of fruit they’d kept in their dorm, so off to the kitchens they went. They opened the door and found a startled Mal, Evie, Carlos, and Jay staring at them from inside.
            Smiling, they walked farther in. “Hey, guys, grabbing a midnight snack, too?” They looked at the cookie batter on the table. “Looks good. Mind if I try some?” They grabbed a spoon, dipped it, and took a bite. “Mmm.”
            Evie and Mal winced, Carlos and Jay exchanged glances, and all four looked at (Y/N) expectantly.
            “Do you…feel anything?” said Evie slowly.
            “Like it’s…missing something?” said Mal.
            “You guys could add chocolate chips,” suggested (Y/N), turning to the fridge. Behind them, all the VKs let out a breath of relief that nothing had gone wrong.
            “Chocolate chips?” said Jay, furrowing his brow.
            “Some of the best treats out there,” said (Y/N), taking a bag out of the fridge. They smiled. “My mom would always add them to brownies and cookies when I was feeling down.” (Y/N) sprinkled some into the bowl, and the VKs watched the tiny pieces of chocolate mix with the batter.
            “Feeling down?” said Evie quietly.
            “Yeah,” said (Y/N), leaning on the table. “I had a tough time with insecurity growing up. When everyone in the world thinks your mom is beautiful, they make comments expecting you to be. It took me a while to learn not to compare myself to others.” They smiled as they remembered their childhood. “But my mom would always remind me of what mattered when I got down, and she’d make us sweets, put on a movie, and just hold me.” They looked up, and their face fell.
            Each of the VKs was staring at them with a strange look in their eyes. Carlos had leaned in longingly. Jay was silent, looking at his feet. Mal had furrowed her brow, confused by the idea of what (Y/N)’s mom was like. Evie stared at the cookie batter, thinking of all the times she’d been insecure and been reminded she would never be as fair as her mom but she needed to be second best at least.
            They hadn’t gotten that softness, that kindness.
            “Did I…say something?” said (Y/N) quietly. They hadn’t meant to upset them.
            Mal cleared her throat. “It’s just different where we’re from.”
            “Oh. So your parents didn’t—” (Y/N) swallowed as they watched the VKs shift and blink away their emotions. Tears burned the edges of (Y/N)’s eyes. The VKs’ parents hadn’t helped any of them deal with their insecurities and instead fed into them. “I’m sorry,” whispered (Y/N). “You deserve better.” A tear ran down their cheek.
            Mal’s eyes widened, she reached out, and she wiped the tear from (Y/N)’s cheek. (Y/N) blinked in confusion, and Mal flicked her hands dry—and the tear “happened” to fall into the bowl of batter.
            “Yeah, well, big bummer,” said Mal, clearing her throat and moving on. She was not soft. “But we have to get these in the oven, so thank you so much for coming by.”
            “Bye,” said Evie as Mal pushed (Y/N) towards the door.
            “Oh, yeah, right,” said (Y/N). They wouldn’t intrude any more after ruining the mood. “Goodnight.”
            “We’ll see you tomorrow,” said Mal.
            “Swe—Evil dreams,” said Evie.

For the Better (ao3 link)
Rating: General audiences
Word count: 922
Tags: Missing scene, comfort, bruises
Requested by @leximitchells
His keys were in-hand, outstretched towards the lock, but he hesitated. Closing his eyes, Callum took a few breaths and tried to anticipate the conversation waiting for him just beyond the door to the flat.
It wouldn't be good; he knew that much. But it wasn't as if putting it off for a few minutes would be any better. The throbbing pain beneath his left eye would only get worse the longer he waited to get ice on it, his skin forming a deeper, darker bruise. He didn't need Ben to be angrier at Jay than he already was. None of them did, Lexi most of all. But this was Ben. Of course he's gonna be pissed off.
Callum opened his eyes, turned the key, and headed inside.
"That was quick!" Ben teasingly shouted from the kitchen.
As Callum made his way down the hall to the living space, Ben came into view, stirring a mug of tea at the worktop. He had his back to the doorway, but started to turn his head towards it with a cheeky grin on his face.
"Can't tell if that's good news or-"
The smile dropped from Ben's face, as did the spoon from his hand as it clattered against the counter, his steely eyes fixated on Callum's cheek.
"I'm okay, Ben. I promise."
"I'll kill him." Ben's voice was cold, steady and quiet.
"Don't. I said I'm fine," Callum reassured him, taking the few steps needed to be within his husband's reach. Though both of them found comfort in each other's touch, Callum always made sure to be aware of Ben's boundaries now. The fearful look in his eyes when Callum had gripped his wrists during their last shouting match, the way Ben had ripped himself out of his hands terrified him. That he could unknowingly inflict that much hurt on the person he loves most, it cut him deep.
Now, Ben's lip was twitching, his gaze flicking back and forth from Callum's eyes to the swelling mark. The fear he was feeling in that moment was for Callum's well-being, not his own.
"I was more shocked than anything, really," Callum said with half a smile. "It's nothing."
"That ain't 'nothing,' Cal. He fucking hit you!"
"It's alright." Callum tried to soothe him, reaching out and placing a hand on Ben's arm, giving it a soft squeeze. "Guess it's all Mitchell men who get offended at the mere mention of counseling, eh?"
"Not funny." Ben lifted a hand to Callum's face, cradling his jaw, Callum reflexively leaning into his touch. "It ain't like Jay to try and knock your teeth out over something like that."
There was a familiar look in Ben's eyes, one that filled Callum with guilt; he was searching for an answer, as if he could see it hidden just behind Callum's irises. That threw Callum off a bit, casting his gaze to the floor and shifting his weight from foot to foot. Ben could tell there was more to it, that Callum wasn't telling him the whole truth.
But he couldn't tell him. Not now that Ben was improving, truly getting better after suffering for so long. If he knew Jay was doing drugs and spending his time with a sex worker, Callum wasn't sure how Ben would handle it. If he could handle it. Tensions were already high enough in their house. And maybe Callum could get through to Jay on his own.
"Jay ain't really been himself lately."
That was as much truth as he could let himself say. It killed him to keep things from Ben, but if Jay could sort himself out it wouldn't matter in the end.
Right?
"If this don't prove that he really needs help," Ben said with a sigh, "I dunno what would."
Ben's thumb gently brushed across Callum's cheek, right below the bruise, soft enough that it tickled slightly. Callum lifted his head just enough so that their eyes met, and he could tell Ben's anger had eased off. Instead, what he saw there was saddened concern.
"I hate when you're hurt." Ben spoke the words quietly, because they were only for Callum to hear even if the two of them were the only ones awake in the flat.
Callum was going to correct him again, but in all honesty he was hurt. Not by Jay's fist–well, not entirely–but by his words. How easily he had discredited Callum's relationship to Lexi as if she meant nothing to him. Callum didn't want to hold it against Jay; he obviously wasn't in his right mind. But that little girl meant everything to him. She had nestled right into his heart straight away, just like her dad did. She was just as much his family as his own flesh and blood were, and he loved her as if she were his own.
A piece of paper isn't what makes you a family.
"I should get you a bag of peas for that or summat before it gets too swollen," Ben told him, Callum genuinely smiling over his fussing. "If Jay's messed up your beautiful face too badly I actually will kill him."
"Promise me you won't go off on him over this, yeah?" Callum asked. "Let him cool off and I can deal with it myself tomorrow."
Ben didn't seem satisfied, but eventually nodded in agreement.
Callum leaned forward and pressed his lips against Ben's forehead. He just needed to get Jay back on track and things would be alright.
Wouldn't they?

Spelled (Carlos de Vil x Sanderson Daughter) Descendants 3- Ch. 7: Surrender
Tumblr media
Carlos’ POV
We continue walking through the shadowy woods. Now that Ben’s human again we can figure out a plan. I’m so overjoyed that Jane’s safe!
“I’m so glad you’re alright!” We say in unison before hugging.
Jay brings Ben down to sit and we see he’s got a beard now.
“You need another blast.” Jane shoots more water at him.
The annoyed king holds up a hand. “Please- stop.”
Jane tilts her head. “Huh. I guess Enchanted Lake water can only do so much.”
Unfortunately Harry gets a look at her and is getting too friendly for comfort. “Well well well. Hello my little duckling… You’re ravishing.” He slinks closer.
I take Jane’s hand and block him. “Uh, yeah. Ravishing, and taken. Just in case anyone was confused. We have more important problems, Harry.”
“I’m telling you, man. Trixie’s got a point,” Jay points out.
How can he even think something like that?
“Jay, she let Audrey curse Mal,” I argue.
He shrugs. “Then she saw she was wrong.”
“Just because she turned over a new leaf doesn’t mean she’s changed her mind about harboring a grudge.” I look between him and Jane. “Magica won’t molt her spiteful feathers so quickly. Should we trust her?”
“Don’t you dare!” Gil says sternly from behind us. “Magica is one of the nicest VKs we’ve ever met!”
“You insult her, you mess with us, De Vil.” Harry threatens as he twirls his hook.
Jay and I exchanged perplexed looks. It’s one thing for them to hate us but how do they have such a liking for Magica?
“I’m confused. I thought you guys hated Auradon kids,” Jay frowns.
“Magica’s not your typical Auradon softie,” Harry purrs. “She’s feisty.”
“She gives good dog treats!” Dude says.
“And really nice!” Gil adds. “She’s our friend.”
“Hold on- who’s side are they on?” Ben points to the two new VKs.
“They escaped and joined us, and Mal has the Ember which is our only chance at stopping Audrey,” Jay explains. “Details to follow.”
“Wait. Hades’ Ember? Did Mal go back to the Isle?” Ben asks frantically.
“I said: ‘Details to follow.’ Now let’s go find Mal, Evie, and Uma.”
Ben’s jaw drops. “Uma?”
“Details to follow!” We all shout and start walking back to the school.
“Wait- Magica!” I turn around and see Ben’s eyes go wide. “She tried to warn me but Audrey spelled her too!”
Immediately my heart clenches and I forget all about my previous doubts about her. Magica’s been spelled? Magica’s been fighting for justice. She doesn’t deserve to suffer any further no matter if we don't always agree.
“Where is she?”
Ben gets a lost look. “I don’t know… After I got turned into a beast my mind went blank.”
Jane grips his shoulder. “Then we have to get back now. Before it’s too late! Where would Audrey have taken her?”
The king gets an idea. “The cottage! I know exactly where Magica is!”
“Then let’s go!” Jane grabs his hand and they sprint ahead of the group, leaving Jay and me in the back.
“I still don’t understand how she could have sunk this low,” I wonder out loud.
Jay scoffs and kicks a stone across the ground. “You didn’t consider the fact that you abruptly leaving her for Jane wouldn’t cause anything?”
I gawk at him. “You were the one who said I should find another girlfriend!”
“I never said leave without being considerate!” Jay argues. “Did you even talk to her before you asked Jane out?”
“Yes!”
“Oh really?” Jay crosses his arms. “Did you ever ask Magica if she still loves you?”
The words ring in the air and my thoughts start racing. Is he right…? Is this my fault?
“Been too busy with Jane to even think about your old true love?” Dude says accusingly.
His words take a moment to sink in. True love? Does this mean Magica still holds feelings for me? But… Why wouldn’t she tell me?
“She said she was happy for me,” I try to argue.
“Uh, wake up stupid!” Dude barks. “You know she’d never openly criticize you for leaving her.”
So she’s been holding it back… That’s why her powers have been so unpredictable!
“This is all my fault…” I think out loud.  “But I never… Oh my God. You’re right, Jay.” I slap my forehead. “All this time Magica’s been saying that she’s happy for me, but I’ve never stopped to think if she’s happy. Why did I just let it go… think it was nothing…? Of course she’d be mad!”
“No kidding, genius!” Jay smacks the back of my head. “So let’s hurry and maybe you can apologize before she hates you forever.”
Magica’s POV
I never considered being evil could be so… fun. All worries of second-guessing myself are wiped clean. No wonder VKs enjoy it so much. And with no one to disturb me it’s been very peaceful. Chad’s stashed in the back closet (can’t say I’m disappointed in that decision) and the only thing I can remember is being told to wait here. Once Audrey used the scepter to turn me evil  open my mind she led me to a cottage. The surrounding forest reminds me of home and keeps me focused on completing my goal of getting father out of prison. Surrendering to evil is the most refreshing feeling in the world! But now I’ve got a new problem to deal with.
“Where is she?” A voice asks from outside.
I see them now. Mal, Evie, Celia, and Uma are standing in the doorway. They haven’t spotted me yet, which gives me the element of surprise. A little jump scare is just what they need-
Suddenly a sharp pain jabs into my head, causing me to double over. It’s all I can do not to scream. Where is this coming from?
“I warned you, freak,” Audrey’s voice rings in my ear. “You were so excited to make new friends, so how will you feel when I make you lose them? No one’s ever going to want to be your friend again once I make you betray them.”
The good side of me is begging for her to stop while my Sanderson roots sing with delight. A pink haze shines onto my skin and I feel myself being tempted towards the door. I’ve become Audrey’s evil puppet.
“I hear something,” Mal’s voice comes from the next room. “Is that…?”
A searing heat stabs into my chest and I feel my magic churning through me. No, Audrey. Please don’t…
“It’s Magica!” Celia says as I enter the living room. “How’d you find us?”
“Wait a minute.” Evie walks closer with a look of concern. “Something’s wrong-”
A blast of indigo flames erupts from my hand and barely misses the VKs.
“Sparky! What’s gotten into you?” Uma shouts.
“She’s turned traitor again!” Mal yells as her own eyes glow green. “I knew we couldn’t trust you!”
Audrey’s evil cackle echoes in my mind. “See what I mean? Now you have exactly what you wanted, freak. You’re all alone!”
My magic drives the VKs outside. I follow them, still stiffly walking like a possessed marionette. Sparks jump from my fingers and more heat boils inside me.
“I’m going to make you burn from the inside out. No one will recognize your black heart.”
She’s going to kill me. Audrey’s desperation for power has pressed as far as killing any threat to her rule. She knows my own power is enough to stop her. As the burning sensation spreads through my chest all I can think of is how I won’t get to say goodbye to Carlos. After all we’ve been through he should know I still love him and that I regret having to turn against him.
“Look at her eyes! She’s been spelled!” Out of the corner of my eye I see Evie point down at my weakened state.
“How do we help her?” Uma asks urgently as she tries to approach cautiously.
“Stay back!” Mal barks. “This magic is very unpredictable. Anything could trigger-”
“Magica!”
The voice tugs at the heating rage in my chest. Another one of Aurdey’s tricks…
“Magica! Wake up!”
It’s not him, I tell myself. Carlos doesn’t care about me anymore. Why would he? After all I’ve done, and now he’s got Jane. Carlos was right. I really am a wicked witch.
Audrey’s hold forces me down to my knees and all I can do is blankly stare up at him with weak eyes.
“C- Carlos… Help… Please…”
“Magica? You gotta fight it! You’re stronger than Audrey!” He kneels down and I feel a warm hand grab mine.
“Carlos, no! She’ll burn you!” Mal warns.
She’s right. For all I know Audrey can make me kill Carlos at any time. And that’s- Good. It’s not like he didn’t have it coming. I tried to tell him they were pushing me too far. He deserves to-
NO!
I tear the despicable thoughts from my consciousness. How can I think such things? This is all my fault!
The growing heat all but singes a hole through my heart as guilt pours through me. It’s a whole new level of pain- but then why don’t I hear Audrey’s voice anymore? Unless… Of course! One of Aunt Winnie’s books tells of a self-afflicting spell that can undo almost any curse, especially if true love is involved. Well, at least true love on my end.
I feel the pain dissipating away and find the strength to stand. Carlos sees I’m calming down and wraps me into a tight hug.
“Thank God! Are you alright? Is Audrey still in your head?”
“N- No,” my voice waivers. “You came- Came to… Carlos, this is all my fault.”
Carlos starts to say something but then Mal comes closer to get a better look at my now-normal eyes.
“Good to see you’re-” Mal starts to say.
“What? That I’m no longer a threat?” I speak bitterly. “Thanks for the help, by the way. Glad to see how much of an asset my magic is to the villain world.”
“She’s right.” We all turn to see Uma and Celia.
“It’s not Sparky’s fault Pinky cursed her,” Uma says.
“She just wants to be accepted like the rest of us,” Celia adds.
“But she can still be evil!” Mal argues.
“Have you tried asking her?” Carlos urges sternly.
But we’re interrupted when the front door bursts open and Chad sprints out of the cottage crying “Freedom!” I see that Jay and Hook have searched the rest of the cottage and are coming out to meet us.
“Hiya, lassie!”
“Good to see you’re ok, trixie.” Jay gives me a sturdy handshake. “Gil, Ben, and Jane are still in the cottage.”
My eyes widen. “You all should stay away. From both me and Audrey. My- I can’t control my magic too well. I can’t risk any of you getting hurt-”
“But Magica,” Carlos intervenes. “It’s actually my-”
“Magica!” Jane squeals and both her and Ben hurry over for a squeezing hug. “We were so worried!”
“You really scared me, Sparks.”
They- they were worried for me? They still care after I betrayed them? How am I worthy of such loyal friends when I can’t control my own temper? As a Sanderson my roots drive me to stray from any outsiders and rely only on kin, yet these people have proven to still labor my mistakes.
They were the ones who tempted those mistakes.
I’ll tend to that matter later. What’s important now is stopping Audrey before the damage to Auradon is irreparable.

Snowfall
Pairing: Ben/Jay
WC: 800+
A/N: Happy holidays @benjaycaptain from your @descendantsgiftexchange gifter! I hope you enjoy this little fic, it's unbetad so please forgive any tenses or Grammer errors (I'll come back and fix them when I have extra time). Sorry it's not longer, it was an interesting challenge doing Ben/Jay as I've never written them before so I hope they are in character!
Happy Holidays and Happy New Year! 🎉
-
“You coming out or what?”
Jay didn’t turn around as Ben straightened in the doorway. Realizing he’d been caught, Ben closed the door to the tower behind him. Jay didn’t even flinch at the sound and Ben took that as a good sign. Ben cleared his throat. “Didn’t want to startle you.”
“I don’t bite,” Jay shot Ben a smirk over his shoulder. “Unless you ask.”
Ben felt himself blush and cleared his throat, “Right…” He thought back to the time of one of his first fittings in Evie’s dorm. In his rush to get to his appointment on time, he entered without knocking which resulted in Evie throwing him roughly against the wall with her fabric scissors pressed against his neck. His hand came to rub the small scar it left as she pulled away. After that, he learned quickly to make his presence known when entering a room. He decided to change the subject. “Don’t you think that’s a little dangerous?”
Jay was sitting on the stone wall of the castle tower, his feet dangling over the edge. Jay glanced down at the multi-story drop below and shrugged. “I’m fine, I’ve done worse things before.”
“Whatever you say, man.” Ben didn’t doubt his statement. After hearing some of the many, many stories of what he’d done on the Isle, Ben was sure he’d done worse. It didn’t stop him from worrying though. “I’d still feel better with your feet on the ground, though.”
Jay turned his body around, one leg resting on the inside of the tower while the other was bent and placed on top of the tower wall. His arms wrapped around the perched leg. “Please, I’ll be fine. Nothing to worry about.”
Ben gave him a skeptical look.
“But,” Jay sighed, letting the word drag out. “If it would make you feel better, I’ll get down.”
As Jay pushed himself off of the wall, he moved across the small space toward Ben. After getting a few steps toward him, his foot came down on a patch of ice neither of them knew was there. His eyes went wide as he started to fall backwards.
“Jay!” Ben gasped out, his adrenaline kicked in and in a few strides he was close enough to Jay to grab him, stopping his fall.
“Oh my- are you ok?!” Ben gasped, still not letting him go. He looked Jay over, rambling frantically. “I didn’t even notice that ice! I knew it was snowing but I didn’t think- I have to get the staff to salt up-”
Ben cut himself off once his eyes met Jay’s. They were incredibly close. Close enough for Ben to see the individual eyelashes on Jay’s face. Ben felt his face flush again, something that was becoming increasingly frequent around Jay, and dropped his hands from Jay’s body. “Uh,” Ben gulped before clearing his throat. “Anyway, I’m glad your alright.” Ben pointed his thumb at the door behind him, taking a step back. “Uh, I really- I should be getting back now, so-”
“W-wait,” Jay said, grabbing Ben’s hand and stopping him before he could pull away. Ben’s face felt like it was on fire, but he couldn’t help noticing how flustered Jay was. If Ben didn’t know any better, he’d say Jay was blushing as well. Jay cleared his throat, “Don’t go. Uh, you never said why you came up here.”
Ben racked his brain, trying to think of anything besides how warm Jay’s hand felt in his. “O-Oh! Uh, right. I actually heard it was snowing. S-so I came up here to watch the snow before my next meeting.” It was true, Ben always loved watching the snow and this tower, one of the highest in the castle, had the best view.
Jay nodded his head and looked over his shoulder then back to Ben. “If you still have the time, wanna watch the snow together?”
Ben smiles and feels himself blushing more. “Yeah, sure. I’d love to.”
Jay’s face breaks out into a large grin as he pulls Ben carefully over the patch of ice. The stare out at the view of the snow covered gardens below in a comfortable silence.
The snow started getting heavier as time went on, but neither of them really noticed. Their hands were still connected, at some point entwining their fingers together as well.

♥♦♠♣My thoughts on Rise of Red ♣♠♦♥
So I watched Rise of red with my brother and these are my thoughts
!!!!!!SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!!!
THE CARLOS THING. MY GOSH, I NEARLY CRIED. LIKE BRO, WHEN THEY TALK ABOUT JAY, EVIE, MAL, AND BEN WERE OUT AND ABOUT AND I WAS LIKE WAIT WHERE'S CARLOS???? MY POOKIE HEART 😭😭😭 UMA BEING LIKE LETS DO IT FOR HIM LIKE OW
Chloe and Red are such lesbeans like. love me some enemies to lovers
Young bridget is adorable like literally a sweetheart
love Love LOVE the costumes and hair. This brand always does an amazing job in this department
Young Ella and Bridget are so pining like
Hook is hot
Morgie is literally adorable. like bro is a little stupid but i love him, he gives me gil vibes
I was waiting for harry to show up and i was so sad hes not there cause love him
Don't get me wrong, love China just missed Thomas
ALSO I have always said Cindy has trauma that needs to be addressed and this movie talks about it
The trauma the mcs go through like red not having her mom's approval and her mom only wanting her to be a mini me and Chloe feeling like she needs to be perfect and needs to live up to her mom's rep like Chloe is me
Time travel aspect was alright. like i was worried and it was pretty good
THE MUSIC. So my favs were Red, Life is sweeter, get your hands dirty. Like i was there for the music. There were a lot more rap/faster paced songs. They were good but the ogs are obvi the best
The villians (Morgie, ulina, hook, hades, maleficent) were introduced a little late like i feel like the ending was a bit rushed/forced but perfect revenge was so good
Also was not a fan of young maleficent's like hair for her horns
The ending felt odd, but then uma's voice over answered some of my questions
Maddox hatter was awesome
Brandy as Cindy was great
Also loved Prince Charming having a little blue in his hair like hes such a pooks
young charming is hot
forever a chloe x red shipper
CHLOE IS ME, like doing so many things at once, literally my schedule
Really glad they didn't call it Descendants 4 cause it only had 2 from the og cast. like its a new generation
Long story short, I enjoyed it but forever miss the old cast. love them. It was a pretty good movie. Stay weird, guys!!

Soooo...
I read Dark Web, the 2023 Marvel comics crossover.
Tumblr media
The plot: Two clones, Madeline Pryor (Jean Grey's) and Ben Reilly (Peter Parker's) join forces to wreak havoc, and suddenly, New York's usually inanimated objects suddenly start talking and biting everyone they see!
Overall, I really enjoyed it, but I'll give my thoughts on each series in it.
The X-Men issues are excellent, be it the plot or the art. I'm very tempted to read more of their adventures! I'm very thankful to have listened to Jay & Miles X-plain the X-Men, even for not so many episodes, because it definitely helped! Aside from the touching storyline between Jean and Madeline, there's also the matter of Cyclops and Havok both being detained. Cyclops hilariously can't open his eyes or the extremely adorable puppies dangling in front of his face will burn. What a cute predicament. I loved looking at the puppies! Meanwhile, Havok has an extremely sexy outfit that, I suppose, is damaged, but it really hides... not much of his body.
Tumblr media
Is this his usual garment?! It seems so. I'm here for it, but also, what the heck. Not gonna complain though.
A prominent member of the cast is also Forge, my husband who's just as dashing as what I'd imagined. So overall, really loved those issues.
The Miss Marvel issues were also great. I don't really care about her powers, but what listen I've seen of her cast is really enjoyable. The objects are the most prominent in her story and are enjoyable conversation partners. We also get a nice Miles Morales cameo who helps the Muslim community in a big (literally) way.
The Mary Jane & Black Cat issues are also extremely enjoyable. MJ has her Jackpot powers, and they really work well as a duo. Aside from the delightful lesbian vibes, they're just great as friends (and previous romantic rivals). The art is great, the plot is fun and full of surprises. I loved their relationship with the purple demon where they all made it clear there would be a betrayal coming up, and were chill with that. And look, two women looking badass while fighting together? I'm easy to please, folks.
Tumblr media
Spider-Man's issues are alright. Spidey's conflict with Chasm reaches hilarious proportions (be it Chasm's stupid plan to make Peter eat an apple, or Rek-Rap's whole character that I expected to hate and instead found intensely delightful), but the ending is quite sad. I did enjoy seeing Ben and his girlfriend, whom I'd never heard of before. Hallow's Eve has a sick costume design. Chasm also has a great suit, that's what made me aware of the event in the first place! I wish he had a good ending too, however. I'm curious about the aftermath...
The art was extremely good overall for these issues.
Now, for issues I enjoyed less...
Gold Goblin was a surprising, but not uninteresting delve into Norman's psyche around questionable plot points. In concept, it's not so bad, and here too, the art is impressive, but somehow those issues ended up being... boring.
But it's nothing compared to Venom. I'm not attached to those symbiotes, but this really didn't help either. I didn't really care about that plotline, it felt messy and boring.
Tumblr media
So overall, Dark Web was quite enjoyable. It made me want to read more of some characters, thirst on many men, and turn a lot of pages. Definitely not a beginner's comic storyline because there's a lot of bagage involved.

🍒🍌🍐🫐
I would like to know your opinions on these in the fruit emoji thing you reposted ☺️
🍒 What’s your favorite character dynamic to write? (Can be romantic or platonic, specific or general!)
I love writing siblings relationships! You know, that kind of relationship that is simultaneously "my siblings//cousins are the most annoying people I have ever known" and "I'd go to war for them".
...Yeah, specifically the Hook siblings.
They are very chaotic and I like that.
And for romantic relationships, my favourite is Harry Hook and Uma. I mean, look at them.
🍌 In your opinion, what’s the funniest joke/reference/pun you’ve made in a fic?
...I don't know? I genuinely don't know. I'm not sure how funny my works are.
Sure, I write them by going „Oh, you know what would be hilarious -“ but an actual joke? That does not involve at least 400 words of setting the situation?
No idea.
Either way, I'm gonna find some sentences//quotes to post here, because why not:
[CJ, spotting a snake in her hair:]
Unfortunately, it has no original ideas, nor anything interesting to say.
It only hisses. Ssshame.
CJ hisses back at it.
...Yeah, generally anything CJ does. Like these instances she got lost while trying to narrate:
The princess and Carlos are in this Selfies class, alright? The teacher's Mother Gothel, apparently, and joke's on them, she's a terrible teacher.
On the other hand, she doesn't care for anything other than herself happening in the classroom, and me and Freddie always take full advantage of it. Sometimes, we ask Ginny to hold a separate lesson while her mother is teaching: Ginny stands right beside her, actually telling us stuff, like chemistry and so, and have you guys known that if you add potassium into water, it will catch on fire? It's really cool, really, she showed us, too! The curtains caught on fire, but it was alright. The anti-fire-anti-fun system went off and the water poured down and it made even bigger flames until there was no more potassium and it absolutely doused Mother Gothel's curls in water and smoke and that's when she noticed that we haven't been paying attention to her at all.
Isn't that hilarious?
She is a disaster. And I better shut up about her.
The whole idea of the Hook siblings trying to (and failing to) narrate the plot of Descendants sounds utterly hysterical to me though.
But, yeah, I have no idea how funny are my ideas to other people.
🍐 Is there anything in canon that you absolutely hate and love to fix in fics? A wrong choice made, a fuck-up in characterization, a misunderstanding never cleared up, a conversation never shown onscreen, etc…
Rise timeline!
It's wrong!!
I mean, yeah, the plot with the trident can have rights I suppose (if only because Arabella deserves a corruption arc), but the race for Lost Revenge?
Yeah, no. No way in hell Uma got that kind of loyalty in just a few months.
I'm moving that back to when she was like twelve or so, which has the added bonus of maling Uma's and Mal's rivalry both more petty and more dangerous. You know, fun things.
🫐 What’s your favorite underrated thing in your fandom? (A ship that only you seem to write for, a character there’s almost no fics about, a trope that criminally hasn’t been written yet, etc.)
Not exactly a ship, but generally CJ dynamic with Mal.
Imagine the chaos, pretty please, especially when we take into consideration:
Their combined lack of survival instinct
The bloody mess it creates with Harry any time they cooperate (which is why they cooperate in the first place. CJ wants to irritate her brother and Mal wants to piss of Uma, even in this really round about way.)
Then generally siblings relationships. Hooks, Faciliers, Jay and Jade, de Vil cousins. Mal amd Hadie, which is very optional. Just saying.
Also Ben, Audrey, or Lonnie spending time with the pirates. Lonnie in particular deserves to meet the Lost Revenge crew and Harriet's crew too.
Also. The sheer chaos it would throw into Auradon high society scene and media :)

CHAPTER TEN (of frozen heart)
Tumblr media
The next day, Elisa had managed to avoid Ben the entire morning, not wanting to see him. But unfortunately, it didn't last long. Because it was Family Day and Elisa had to be there. She arrived with her friends, anxiously fidgeting the ring Ben gave her around her finger. It felt like she was walking to her death. She felt nervous and she knew if Ben talked to her, she wouldn't be able to avoid him.
When she entered the room, her eyes immediately scanned the yard, spotting the prince. He was with some other students, preforming just like they always did at the beginning of Family Day. But as if he could sense her gaze, as he sang, his eyes flickered towards her. They stared at each other, and Elisa swallowed hard. She averted her eyes, forcing herself to look away.
"Come on." Evie nudged her, linking her arm with Elisa's and dragging her away. Elisa let her friend drag her, following her through the crowd. Evie lead her over to a table where food was, and Elisa's stomach grumbled at the sight. She didn't eat anything today and she was starving.
She noticed the boys were already eating, taking a liking to the chocolate fountain. She wasn't surprised and she couldn't blame them. She loved chocolate. "Wow, you guys really are hungry." She chuckled, her gaze lingering on the strawberries. She had a weakness for chocolate covered strawberry.
"Chocolate makes everything better." Jay hummed, shoving another chocolate covered strawberry in his mouth.
Elisa chuckles and her gaze went back to the strawberries. She reaches out, her eyes lighting up at the thought of having one. But then she saw the ring on her finger and her mood fell. She pulls her hand back and wraps her arms around her torso. "Right." She nodded with a heavy sigh as her heart clenched.
She was starting to regret wearing that ring. Every time she looked at it, all she could think about was Ben. She just wanted to make this pain stop. She didn't want to feel like this. Why was this affecting her so much? She didn't even like him. Sure, he was kind and sweet and handsome and she loved being around him, and his hugs were nice, and his kisses-
"Hey," Evie speaks up, looking at her with concern. "El, Mal said you had a panic attack last night." Elisa snaps out of her thoughts and turns to glare at Mal, who shrugged in response. Evie continues, turning back to her. "Are you okay?"
"Evie, I'm fine. It's no big deal." Elisa rolls her eyes, her gaze falling on the chocolate covered strawberry. She looks back at the ring on her finger and hesitates before she took it off, handing it to Evie. "Can you hold onto this for me?"
"What?" Evie questions, her eyes widening in surprise. "I thought you loved that ring. Why don't you want to wear it anymore?"
"Because every time I look at it, I think about him." Elisa sighed, her heart clenching. She didn't want to be reminded of Ben. Not right now. Not when the plan was happening soon. She needed to focus.
Evie nods in understanding, her gaze softening. "El, are you sure-"
"Please, just take the ring, E." Elisa interrupts, holding it out. She really didn't want to discuss this right now. "Just for now. Until we go back to the Isle."
Evie was quiet for a moment, her eyes flickering between the ring and her friend. She finally sighs, nodding her head. "Alright, fine." She agreed, taking the ring and slipping it in her her purse.
"Thanks." Elisa smiled slightly before her gaze goes back to the strawberries, and she can't help but lick her lips.
"Here." Jay chuckles, offering her the plate with chocolate covered strawberries, causing her eyes to widen. He laughs, looking at her with amusement. "El, you've been eying these since we got here. Go ahead, have one. Or ten. Whatever you want."
Elisa hesitates, not wanting to take his food. But then her stomach growled and she gave in, reaching out and taking one. "Thank you." She smiled at him, taking a bite. She couldn't help but moan, her eyes closing as the chocolate and fruit taste hit her tongue. She forgot how much she missed eating these. There wasn't anything like this on the Isle. Something she learned quickly. Well, she already had an idea of how bad things were on the Isle. But seeing it in person was different.
"I see someone's having fun." A familiar voice spoke, and Elisa's eyes snapped open. She looked up and her breath hitched, her heart skipping a beat as her eyes met Ben's.
"Ben, hi." Elisa managed to say, swallowing hard as her heart fluttered. Why did he have to be so handsome?
"Hey." Ben smiles at her, his gaze soft. He glances over at her friends with a hopeful smile. "Do you guys mind if I steal her for a moment?"
Panic rose in her chest, her mind immediately going back to last night. Her heart was pounding and her palms were sweaty. She could feel her fight or flight mode kicking in, and she desperately wanted to run away. But before she could do anything, Ben was gently taking her hand, and she found herself following him. Her body was working on auto-pilot, her brain still panicking. She followed Ben, her heart racing as they walked over to a table. She was tense and she was sure Ben could feel her hands shaking.
"Are you okay?" Ben questions, stopping and turning to her. Concern filled his gaze and he frowns. "You're shaking."
"I-I'm fine." Elisa muttered, avoiding his gaze as she pulls her hand away. She wrapped her arms around her torso and cleared her throat, her gaze flickering around the garden.
Ben's frown deepens, his gaze softening. He hesitates before he reaches out and gently cupped her face, turning her to him. "El, what's going on? Last night, you ran away from me and then you told me you can't be with me." He pauses, his heart aching. "Did I do something wrong? Because if I did, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you. Please, just tell me what's wrong." He pleaded, his thumb gently brushing her cheek.
"No, it's not you, Ben." Elisa shook her head, closing her eyes. She swallowed hard and took a deep breath, trying to calm her nerves.
"Then why can't you be with me?" Ben asks softly, his thumb brushing her cheek. "Was it something else? What was it? Please, just tell me. Let me fix it. I want to be with you, Ellie. I thought you wanted to be with me, too. So, please, just tell me."
"Ben," Elisa opens her eyes and pulled his hand away from her face. Her grip on his hand tightened, not wanting to let him go. But she knew she had to. She couldn't let him get hurt. Not again. "I can't. I'm so sorry, but I can't."
"Why?" Ben questions, his gaze flickering across her face. "I know you feel something, El. I know you do. This isn't just on me, I know you care. Why won't you let yourself be happy?"
"Because it's not real!" Elisa snaps, tears brimming her eyes. "It's not real, Ben. This, us, it's not real."
"Yes, it is. I know it is." Ben shakes his head, his thumb caressing her hand. "We have something, El. I know you feel it."
"No, Ben, you don't understand. It's not real. It's a spell." She mumbles, reluctantly pulling away. "I'm so sorry. I should've never even agreed to it. I shouldn't have let myself fall for you. I should've never fallen for you. I-I didn't-I didn't want this to happen."
"Wait, hold on, wait." Ben mutters, his eyes widening with surprise. He steps closer, reaching out put a comforting hand on her shoulder. He was confused by what she was talking about, but he could see her beginning to panic and he needed to calm her down. "Slow down, okay? Just slow down. Take a deep breath."
Elisa starts to relax at his touch, his thumb was rubbing soothing circles on her shoulder. She takes a deep breath, trying to calm her nerves. Ben waited, giving her a moment before he spoke again. "Now what was that about a love spell? Wait…Did you use it because I was with Audrey? And you weren't sure it could happen on its own?" He tried to guess, hoping that would help explain things.
Elisa hesitates, biting her bottom lip. "Ben…" She mumbles, her cheeks reddening in embarrassment. "Y-Yeah, yeah, you're right." She decided to go along with what he said, not wanting to tell him the whole truth. She couldn't. "I-I used the love spell to get your attention. I know it was wrong, and I shouldn't have done it. But it wasn't just because you were with Audrey, either. I-I did it because I liked you. And I have way before I was sent to the Isle. Just being apart made those feelings grow, and-and when I got back, I couldn't fight it. A-And I was jealous and upset seeing you and Audrey together. I know I had no right to feel that way or to use a love spell on you, but-"
She let out a surprised noise when suddenly, Ben was cupping her face and pulling her into a kiss. It was different from their other kisses, though. This one was slow and passionate, and Ben was making sure Elisa knew how he felt. She could feel all the love and emotions and she felt the same. But she couldn't let herself get carried away.
"W-Wait." She muttered, reluctantly pulling back and taking a step away. Her lips were still tingling and her heart was pounding, her knees felt weak. But she couldn't lose focus. Not now.
"You're worried I'm only kissing you because of the spell." Ben says, his eyes full of determination. "But I'm not. I'm kissing you because I love you. I knew this whole time you put me on a love spell."
Her eyes widen and her heart continues to race. "So…So, what, you just been pretending? This whole time, you've been pretending?"
"No, of course not." Ben shakes his head, taking a step closer. "El, I've always felt something for you. And when you came back, my feelings only grew. They became stronger, and I fell in love with you. I wanted to tell you, but I was afraid. Afraid of losing you. Plus I was with Audrey and I didn't want to hurt her." He pauses, his hands reaching up to cup her face again. "And then the love spell happened, and yes, I was mad. But the more I thought about it, the more I realized I didn't care. I couldn't care less that you used a love spell on me. It didn't change the fact that I loved you."
Elisa felt a warmth grow inside her, and she couldn't help the smile that formed on her lips. He was willing to forgive her for using the spell. He wasn't angry with her. She couldn't believe it. "Really?" She murmurs, her hands coming up to rest on his waist. "You-You don't care? You forgive me?"
"Of course I forgive you." Ben smiles at her, leaning down. He was so close, their noses were brushing against each other. "I love you, Ellie. Nothing's gonna change that. Even a love spell."
"W-Wait, how did you know this whole time?" She questioned, her heart fluttering at his touch and her face turning red. She couldn't believe how close they were. If she moved just a bit, their lips would be touching again. She was tempted, but she was curious about how he found out.
"The love spell washed off in the Enchanted Lake at our first date." Ben explains, his thumbs gently caressing her cheek. "But that still didn't change the fact that I had feelings for you. My feelings were real. This whole time, this was real."
"O-Oh." Elisa blushes, her heart warming. "S-So, um…What does that mean?"
"It means," Ben starts, leaning closer. "I still want you to be my girlfriend. I still want to be with you. What do you say?"
Elisa bites her lip and closes her eyes, thinking for a moment. Ben's touch was comforting, his fingers were caressing her skin. He was being patient, letting her make her choice.
She took a deep breath, trying to decide. She could feel his breath on her lips, he was so close. And she didn't want to pull away. She did want this. She wanted to be with him. But she was still afraid. Afraid of the plan she and her friends have, but also afraid of getting hurt. She knew her answer. She opened her eyes and her gaze flickered between his. He was staring at her, waiting. She didn't say anything, instead, she closed the distance and kissed him. Ben didn't hesitate, his lips moving in sync with hers. His hands moved from her face, down her sides and settled on her hips.
Elisa pulled him closer, wrapping her arms around his neck. Her fingers ran through his hair and his arms tightened around her, keeping her pressed against him. Elisa wanted to be as close as possible, she was melting in his touch. She wasn't sure how but he melted her frozen heart. She always claimed she didn't have a heart, that it was frozen. But Ben had thawed it. He showed her what love was, and she couldn't get enough of him. She felt safe. She felt loved.
But her heart still ached, and she felt a pang in her chest. The guilt was creeping in, and she felt horrible for kissing him while knowing what she had planned. What she and the others were going to do. She finally broke the kiss, reluctantly pulling back. Ben chased her lips, and she couldn't help the small giggle that escaped her.
"Wait." She spoke, her hands resting on his chest to stop him. She could feel his heartbeat, his heart was racing fast just like hers.
"Right, sorry." Ben mumbles, his cheeks reddening. "So, is that a yes?"
Elisa smiles, biting her bottom lip as she nodded her head. "Yes, Ben. I want to be with you."
"Good." Ben smiles, his arms tightening around her as he pecks her lips. "I'm glad to hear that, Elisa."
A sense of relief washes over Elisa as she leans into Ben's embrace, feeling a weight lifted off her shoulders. She can't deny the warmth that fills her heart knowing that Ben's feelings for her were genuine, even after the love spell had worn off. But amidst her happiness, a nagging feeling of guilt still lingers. "Ben," Elisa starts, her voice barely above a whisper, "There's something I need to tell you."
Ben's brows furrow with concern as he gazes down at her. "What is it, El?"
Elisa takes a deep breath, gathering her thoughts before speaking. "I… I haven't been completely honest with you." She looks down, unable to meet his gaze. "There's something I need to tell you about me and my friends."
Ben's expression shifts to one of confusion, his grip on her tightening slightly. "What do you mean? What's going on, Elisa?"
Elisa takes another deep breath, steeling herself to reveal the truth. "My friends and I, we-"
"There she is!" A cheerful and familiar voice interrupted her, causing the two to pull away and look over to find who said that. Elisa couldn't help but perk up at seeing her family coming over to her. Her father had been the one who spoke, grinning at her as he got to her before the others. Jack Frost didn't hesitate to hug his daughter, his grip was tight and his touch was cold but familiar and comforting.
"Dad." She mumbled, hugging him tighter as she closed her eyes. She had missed her family so much during her time on the Isle. She felt a mix of emotions — gratitude for their presence and support, but also a pang of guilt for keeping secrets from them. As she embraced her father, she made a silent vow to herself that she would find a way to protect her loved ones from the impending chaos, no matter the cost. Ben was confused and curious about what Elisa had tried to tell him before her family came over. He could sense that something serious was going on, but he didn't want to intrude on their moment. Instead, he offered a polite smile to Elisa's family before stepping back, giving them some space.
Elisa's mother, Elsa, joins in the embrace, her icy touch sending shivers down Elisa's spine. Despite the cold, it felt comforting to be in her mother's arms again. "Elisa, darling, we've missed you so much." Elsa murmured, her voice filled with warmth and love.
"I missed you, too, mom." Elisa replied, hugging her parents tightly. She could feel tears brimming her eyes, her heart swelled with joy and gratitude for their support. She didn't realize just how much she had missed them until this moment.
"It's good to see you, kiddo." Jack murmured with a sigh, kissing the top of her head. He had missed his only daughter so much. He had been worried about her the entire time she was on the Isle. Now that she was back, he was relieved and overjoyed.
Elisa felt a hand on her shoulder and she looked over to see her older brother, Jax, smiling at her. He looked just like their dad, though his skin was a bit paler and he didn't have the snow white hair. Though his hair was a sandy blonde, similar to their mom's. "Hey, little sis. Glad to have you back."
"Good to see you too, big bro." Elisa smiled, letting go of her parents. She pulled her older brother into a hug, her heart warming when he hugged her back. She hadn't realized how much she missed him. She used to hate the relentless teasing and the pranks he would play on her, but now, she found herself wishing that he would pull one on her again and that she wouldn't mind hearing him tease her.
"How was the Isle? Are you alright?" Her aunt, Anna, questions as she steps up and hugs her niece. She had always been like a second mother to Elisa. Her aunt was full of energy and light, always looking for the bright side of things. She admired her aunt and tried to be like her, even if it was a bit difficult at times. "We've all missed you dearly. It wasn't the same without you here."
"It was…Rough. But I managed and found some friends who helped me survive there." Elisa admitted, pulling away from her aunt. She glanced over at her boyfriend, seeing that he was now talking with her parents. Her heart fluttered at the sight, warmth filling her chest. She couldn't help the smile that spread across her lips, her gaze softening.
"Well, you're home now." Her uncle, Kristoff, wrapped his arm around her shoulder and pulled her into a hug. "And we're all happy to have you back, kid."
"Thank you." Elisa muttered, closing her eyes and sighing. She had never felt so safe, so loved. Being with her family, her home, it felt right. She didn't want to lose that again.
"Oh, there's so much we have to catch up on!" Anna exclaims, her face lighting up with excitement. "Tell us everything we missed!"
"Well," Elisa starts, taking a deep breath. She couldn't stop herself from glancing at her boyfriend again. He was still talking with her parents, but he looked over and smiled at her. She couldn't help but smile back. "Um, Ben and I are dating." She couldn't hide her happiness when saying those words, she was practically beaming.
"Oh, I'm so happy for you, sweetie!" Anna exclaimed, hugging her niece once more. "I knew you two would be perfect for each other."
"I'm happy for you, kid." Jax says, offering a kind smile. He was happy his little sister was able to find someone to love and to be loved by. She deserved it, and he could tell how happy Ben made her. He walks over to Ben, offering his hand for Ben to shake. "I'm glad you two are finally together." Ben smiles, looking relieved as he shook his hand. But Ben grimaces a little when Jax tightens his grip and pulls him closer, his voice low and threatening. "But if you ever hurt my little sister, you'll have me to answer to. Got it?" He let go, his smile back on his face and acting as if nothing happened.
"Uh, yes, of course." Ben nodded, rubbing his hand. His grip was a lot stronger than he thought. He wasn't sure how strong Jax was, but he would rather not find out.
"Good." Jax says, patting his back a little hard, causing him to stumble. Ben quickly regains his composure and stands up straight, trying not to let his fear show. Jax grins, knowing that he was a bit scared. "Then I'm glad we have an understanding."
Ben nodded again, swallowing the lump in his throat. He didn't want to get on his bad side. "I would never dream of hurting her. I care a lot about her." He was genuine, and his voice was filled with passion. It was clear he truly cared about her, and that was good enough for Jax.
"Alright, please don't scare him away, Jax." Elisa quickly chimes in, standing by Ben and intertwining her hand with his. He seems to relax more at her touch, his body easing a bit. "He's important to me. Please be nice."
"Of course, sis." Jax chuckles, reaching over to ruffle her hair. "I'm just looking out for my baby sister."
"Well, maybe don't threaten my boyfriend." She says, swatting his hand away with a scowl. "And mess up my hair."
"Yeah, yeah." Jax laughs, taking a step back. "Come on, mom wants a word with you."
Elisa sighs and glances over at Ben, giving him a kiss on the cheek. "I'll see you later, okay? I gotta go talk to my mom."
"Of course." Ben smiles softly and squeezes her hand. "I'll see you later."
Elisa smiled back at him, letting go of his hand before turning to follow her brother and parents. She glanced back at Ben and smiled again, her heart fluttering in her chest. He looked back at her with a look of admiration, causing her face to flush. She turned away, her cheeks burning, and she walked after her family. Her cousin, Krystal, was now there talking with her parents. She greeted her cheerfully before she continued talking to her parents. Elisa didn't know what they were talking about, but she didn't think it was important.
"Hey, mom." Elisa spoke as she approached, smiling warmly at her.
"Hello, sweetheart." Her mother replies, reaching up and brushing her bangs out of her face. "You have no idea how much we missed you. We were worried."
"I'm fine, mom." Elisa reassures her, taking a hold of her hand and gently squeezing. "Don't worry. Everything is fine. I mean, it was rough, but it's not like it was all bad. I met new people, had a few adventures. And now, I'm back. So there's nothing to worry about."
Elsa sighs, looking into her daughter's eyes. She knew she was lying, something was bothering her. But she didn't want to push. "Alright. If you say so."
"Trust me, I'm fine. You don't need to worry about me." Elisa smiles at her, hoping to ease her mother's worries. "How have things been going back at home? And at the Enchanted Forrest?" She questioned, referring to the kingdom her aunt ruled and the Forrest her parents helped out at.
"Good, everything's going good." Anna nods, a small smile forming on her face. "It's been peaceful, no threats or anything like that. But the forest is thriving. It's been great."
"That's good. That's really good." Elisa sighs in relief, grateful that there were no issues. "I really miss being home. It was really hard being away for so long."
"I bet." Her mother frowns, her gaze softening. "You shouldn't have been there. You belong here. With us. I hate that Audrey and Chad made you lose control of your powers and got you banished for something you couldn't control. And that it took so long to get you back. If I could've, I would've gone myself to get you and bring you home. But…" She trailed off, her frown deepening.
"I get it." Elisa sighs, her shoulders sagging. "You couldn't do anything, mom. No one could."
"Well, you're back now. So, that's all that matters." Jack chimes in, placing a hand on his daughter's shoulder. He smiles reassuringly, squeezing her shoulder gently. "You're back, and you're safe."
"And we're not going to let anyone take you away again." Jax adds, standing next to his father and wrapping his arm around Elisa's shoulders. "You're staying here. With us."
"Right. Right." Elisa sighed, nodding her head. as she leaned into his embrace.
She couldn't help but glance over at her boyfriend. She knew the truth, no one could stop her from leaving. Not even Ben. And she would have to eventually leave, she was a villain and her friends were villains. They weren't supposed to be there, and they had a plan. They would have to go back to the Isle and complete it. She felt a pang of guilt, she was starting to grow attached to her boyfriend and her new life. She wanted to stay. But she had a job to do. And she was going to do it, no matter what.

Disney Directory
Comments: Disney is so pervasive smh.
Descendants Comments: Alright, so, this movie was cringey as all heck, but I like these fics because they give the opportunity for the kids to overthrow a corrupt regime that oppressed them. Probably won’t be any crossovers here, sorry. I’ve honestly only watched the first movie in bits and pieces.
Mal Bertha, Jay, Evie Grimhilde, Carlos De Vil, Ben, Jane,
Encanto Comments: God, but I love their screwy family dynamics. And! Latino!! Probably not going to be crossovers here, as I don’t really vibe with them in this fandom. Mostly a lot of Bruno because I love that old man.

PE AU: Scene 25-27
Scene 25:
Mal: “Okay, we all know what this looks like.” She refers to a picture of Fairy Godmother’s wand. “So it’ll be up on the dais under the beast’s spell jar, and we’ll be coming in from here.” She gestures to other papers with diagrams on them. “Evie will be in the very front. The rest of us will be up in the balcony. Okay?” She can tell they’d rather not be talking about this, but she needs to know they’ve got the plan down. “Carlos?”
Carlos: “Okay, so I’ll find our limo, so we can break the barrier, and, uh, get back on the island with the wand.” He remembers his part.
Mal: “Perfect. Jay?”
Jay: “I’ll use this on the driver.” He lazily lifts a spray bottle with light blue liquid off the table. “‘Two sprays and he’ll be out like a light.’”
Mal: “Exactly. Evie?”
Evie: “I’ll grab the wand and use it to teleport myself to you, then you’ll use it to get us to Carlos and Jay.”
Mal: “Right.” She slowly sits down, her cue that they can stop talking about this since they obviously want to.
Jay takes the chance to go to bed, and then so does Carlos. Evie is about to leave too, but notices the “How to Break a Love Spell” page Mal is reading.
Evie: “M?” She sits down so they can talk. “You want to break Ben’s love spell?” She’s not against it, just… didn’t know it was part of the plan.
Mal: “Uh… I… thought you’d want me to… I mean, you know, when the villains finally do invade Auradon, and begin to loot, and kick everyone out of their castles, and imprison their leaders, and destroy all that is good and beautiful… Do you still want Ben to be in love with you?”
Evie: “No.” She’s quick to say.
Mal: “Right. So, I’ll work on this now.”
Evie: “M?” She stops her from getting up yet. “… Would the spell work on me?” She whispers.
Mal: “‘You’…? You’re in love with Ben now—?” After everything they talked about, that doesn’t really make sense.
Evie: “No.” She corrects her. “Not Ben.” She can’t make eye contact with Mal, but Mal finally knows exactly who she’s referring to.
Mal: “… I’ll see what I can find.”
[Jay deserves something to do, okay? Plus, Evie won’t be knocking out the driver anymore, so it’s a sensible change. (And, as a sticky-fingered thief, Jay is a master of discreetly hiding objects in his clothes. Including bulky spray bottles in stiff leather.)
In my defense, the end wasn’t supposed to be that heartbreaking. But then I thought of it…]
Scene 26 (“If Only” reprise) is all the same.
Scene 27:
The introduction to Family Day is all the same. The cameraman stuff is still happening.
Ben: “Oh, by the way, I was wondering if my friends can join us for lunch.”
Adam: “You’ve never asked if Audrey and Chad could join us before.” He’s teasing, but also curious if Ben is up to something.
Ben: “Not them.” He says too quickly. “I mean, they’re new friends.”
Adam: “Did something happen to Chad and Audrey?”
Belle: “It’s okay. You don’t have to talk about it if you don’t want to.” She gives him an out from what she assumes is a loaded question.
Ben: “No, I wanted to tell you anyway, just… haven’t had the time. Um… I broke up with Audrey. And now she and Chad are together.”
Belle and Adam share a look.
Belle: “We’re sorry, dear. I know you three have been friends since you were just babies, but, um… There’s nothing wrong with finding new friends as you grow up. And we’d love to meet the ones you’ve found.”
Adam: “Right.” He smiles encouragingly. “And do we already know them?” He’s just curious.
Ben: “Um… Kinda. I’ll go grab them.” He starts to turn around.
Adam: “Oh, wait! How about a game of croquet before lunch?” He smiles playfully, competitiveness flashing in his eyes, and Ben responds the same.
Ben: “Game on.” He reaches out to fist bump him, their little pre-game ritual.
Adam: “Game on.”
Ben snaps out of it long enough to nervously look between his parents.
Ben: “You promise you’ll be okay with them?”
Belle: “Ben, if they’re not royalty, that’s okay. I wasn’t either.”
Ben: “… Alright, then. Be right back.”
Belle and Adam watch as he walks up to… the VKs…
Belle: “He might just be talking to them.”
Adam: “They’re walking over here… Do we tell him he’s insane?”
Belle: “No. No.” She says to herself as much as to him. “We’ll just… observe first, and then, based on what we see, we’ll tell him our… informed opinion.”
Ben approaches with the VKs behind him.
Ben: “Mom, Dad? This is Mal, Carlos, Jay, and Evie.”
Mal and Evie curtsey (Mal being a bit wobbly) and Jay and Carlos bow (Jay being extra).
Adam and Belle: “Hi.” They awkwardly greet (Adam sounding slightly suspicious).
Ben: “Uh… So, have you all played croquet before?”
Carlos shakes his head confusedly and Mal and Jay eye him like they think he’s making it up.
Evie: “Um… We’re willing to learn.”
Ben: “Great.” He looks to his parents, who nod as a sign they can go.
Ben leads them away and his parents let themselves fall behind out of earshot.
Adam: “Why are we humoring this?”
Belle: “He’s going to be king soon, we should be supportive. Besides, they haven’t done anything wrong. They seem nice.”
Adam: “… I can admit they’re better behaved than I was. There would’ve been a lot more huffing and yelling.”
Belle: “Exactly.” She chuckles, a little more certain of her own advice.
They begin their game of croquet and everyone’s having fun when Leah curiously approaches Mal.
Leah: “Hello there.”
Mal: “Hi.”
Leah: “Now, have we met?”
Mal: “No, I don’t think so. I’m new. I’m sort of like a… transfer student.”
Leah: “Oh, yes.”
Audrey comes over then.
Audrey: “Grammy.” She greets her.
Leah: “Oh, Audrey! Give Grammy a kiss, dear.”
Mal: “‘Grammy’?” Mal starts to realize who she’s talking to.
Audrey: “Sleeping Beauty’s mother.” Just as Mal hoped not. “Grammy, I don’t think you want to be talking to this girl. Unless you feel like taking another hundred-year nap.”
Leah: “What?” She takes another look at Mal and realizes why she thought she recognized her. “You!” She panics, drawing the attention of everyone around. “How are you here? And how have you stayed so young?”
Ben hurries to mitigate the situation.
Ben: “Queen Leah, it’s okay. Maleficent is still on the island. This is her daughter, Mal. Don’t you remember my proclamation to give the new generation a chance?”
Leah: “A chance to what, Ben? Destroy us?” She turns to the people who have gathered, focusing on Fairy Godmother right behind her. “Come on, you remember, don’t you? The poison apples.” Fairy Godmother steps forward, attempting to reassure her, but then she turns back to Ben. “And the spells.” She looks at Mal, repeating herself in a whisper. “Spells.” Her volume raises again. “My daughter… was raised by fairies because of your mother’s curse. So her first words, her first steps, I missed it all!” Getting too emotional, she turns back to Fairy Godmother. “You mustn’t trust her.” She pleads.
Mal knew what her mother did, but seeing its effect firsthand makes her aware of the damage that evil does.
Mal: “I’m so sor…” She reaches out.
Chad: “Go away!” Chad blocks her. “Stay away from her.”
Ben: “Don’t do this, Chad.” He warns.
Chad: “What? They were raised by their parents, Ben. What do you think villains teach their kids? Huh? Kindness? Fair play?” He turns back to address the people around them. “No way, okay?” He turns back to Ben. “Uh-uh.” He turns to Mal. “You’re a vandal and manipulate people with magic.” Mal lets out a dry laugh, pretty sure he’s making up the second accusation, but cuts it short when she remembers it is what she did to Ben (and Evie by extension). But Chad wouldn’t know that, so she masks her emotions with an angry glare.
Ben: “Hey– Hey!” Ben aggressively steps toward him, but Chad just steps aside to point at Jay.
Chad: “You enjoy hurting people.” Jay is genuinely bothered by that and Evie takes notice. “And you,” he scoffs at Evie (she’s only distracted from her concern for Jay out of worry that “you” is directed at Carlos), “you stole another girl’s boyfriend. You’re nothing but a gold digger and a cheater.”
He smugly looks at Doug, who’s scowling.
Doug: “She is not.” He’s not yelling, but his voice is just as firm and clear.
Chad starts to turn towards Doug and Evie steps in to prevent another one of her friends from getting hurt.
Evie: “Mirror, mirror, in my hand, who’s the biggest jerk in the land?” She steps forward as it shows Chad’s face. And not as a reflection.
Insulted, he shouts at her and slaps her hand, knocking her off balance. Doug runs forward to catch her while Jay shoves Chad back and yells at him, but Ben steps in between them. Jay backs off, but Chad is still trying to fight past Ben, so Evie asks Jay for the spray bottle and sprays Chad to knock him out, the sight triggering Leah’s memories of her sleeping daughter, making her faint too.
Though her hurt is emotional, it still sends Jay reeling into thoughts about Chad’s accusation and Mal is stuck staring in horror at the sudden understanding of the power her mother wants to gain back.
Chad and Leah are each caught by one of the guards who approached when the commotion first started. Evie panics now that she’s noticing the guards and pulls Mal away with her. She gestures for Carlos (who’d already started backing away from them) to follow her and calls to Jay to snap him out of his daze, and they all run off.
Doug watches sadly, knowing it’s probably best they get a break from all this, but it’s not fair they had to leave.
Ben: “Guys!” He calls after them, but he knows getting them to stay is futile.
Once Chad wakes up and they know he’ll be okay, Adam finally speaks.
Adam: “I feared something like this would happen.”
Ben: “This isn’t their fault!” He protests.
Adam: “No, son. It’s not.”
Doug watches the way Ben’s shoulders slump and the way Adam won’t look at his son.
Doug: “You can’t seriously be blaming him! Chad instigated this whole mess!”
Belle: “No!” She insists. “He’s not—! Are you…?”
Adam: “No! Of course not! I just… I don’t think the kingdom was ready for this…” He walks away and Belle goes with him.
As everyone else around watches with a mix of pity and secondhand awkwardness, Doug puts a supportive hand on Ben’s shoulder and Ben offers him a strained smile in gratitude.
[With Ben being free from the love spell, he doesn’t introduce his “girlfriend”, but he does still want to hang out with a certain VK and for his parents to meet her.
The Queen Leah scene is basically the same, but it’s an important scene, so I kept it all in so no one would have to rewatch the movie to remember how one scene got to the next.
Chad’s accusations had to be changed since Mal is no longer the one to “steal another girl’s boyfriend.” Honestly, I like how it worked out that it shows Ben caring most about Mal (not that he only cares about Mal; just, from Auradon Prep’s perspective, you would think he would come to his girlfriend’s side).
Of course I had Doug support Evie here; he should’ve done so in canon!
(I was going to have Chad accuse Carlos of planning to turn Dude into a coat, but then I realized that, in Chad’s mind, Carlos hasn’t personally slighted him, and Chad is the type to thus view Carlos as irrelevant. And with that realization, I almost took out Mal’s accusations too, but I think Audrey talking in his ear influenced him to bring up her locker graffiti and stretch the truth about the nature of her hair spells.)
Adam did Ben so dirty in this scene. Like, Ben made so many mistakes before and after this moment, but this was 100% Chad’s fault (sure, Leah “started it”, but he was the escalator).
This is where the “idyllic” use of “romantic” comes into play: The VKs are finding a better (an ideal) life in Auradon and learning about being good (the ideal way people should treat each other) from the Auradonians. How the Auradonians act should reflect that, and a place with people that blame Ben (and the VKs) for what Chad did, is not better (except in stuff) or good. (But this explanation section is getting long, so I’ll get more into this after the next scene.)]

Fifth
Summary: Descendants; Ben/Chubby GN reader; Reader is the fifth kid chosen to go to the isle
“So Y/N really? Them?” Jay laughs and you scowl letting your magic fizzle; while you can’t actually do magic on the Isle you’ve gotten good at alchemy. Which means for now everyone thinks you can do magic; the fizzles and sparks from the alchemical reactions you create. Jay is still not impressed, you know he has first had experience with Maleficent; you all do; one of the reasons Mal isn’t impressed that  all of you were there. She knew you were her friends; but she also knew that all of you knew what her mother was capable of; and what would happen if you failed to get the wand. Your father; LeFou wasn’t exactly dangerous; but your mother; Madam Mim was a force to be reckoned with and you knew Maleficent was weary of her gaining her magic back simply because she, and you by default of benign her child, were unpredictable. You knew Mal was thankful that your anxieties had kept you in the shadows and books that the isle had; that you weren’t a threat to her.
“Mom said they could help; well the prince requested them specifically.” Mal shrugs watching you; you can tell she’s reevaluating you as a threat. You wonder what you score in the tally she has in her mind with how she pulls Evie a little closer.
Ben is grinning at everyone and you wonder if his parents are making him recite whatever speech he’s almost robotically talking through. Mal makes a joke; something about him trying too hard and his laugh sounds a little strained; but Audrey seems annoyed; clearly she can’t tell the tone has changed.
“And you’re LeFou’s child...”
“I wanted to uh; be the first to extend an apology to you and your… family because.. Of … You know…” You try to shrug a little and Ben just nods before Audrey appears trying to pull him back from all of you.
“Madam Mim’s child actually…” Evie interrupts and you know she was trying to be helpful; that all VK’s knew to answer with the most powerful parent they had. Ben’s smile doesn’t falter, until Audrey gives a sharp tug on his shoulder.
“We need to love spell him!” Mal grins and you wrinkle your nose avoiding saying anything; it would be easier to just swap the fake wand out by lowering the security systems with a couple of alchemical reactions you know but they never asked for your input.
-You’re hiding behind Evie when Lonnie walks in, poking your head between Mal and her smiling when Lonnie waves to you.
 “Chocolate chips are the key; a warm chocolate chip cookie right out of the oven is the best; with your mom, it really puts things into perspective you know?” Lonnie grins looking slightly confused at everyone else's faces you know they’re confused by her description of a mother and you and Jay share a look that you know hides the question of, what is it like to have a mother.
“I just thought that even villains would love their kids.” Lonnie looks hurt and you watch her gaze fall over all of you; Mal and Evie hesitate but you shrink backwards when her brow crinkles.
“That’s so horrible, I’m so sorry all of you have to deal with that.” You can see her tear and you move your finger to catch it.
“It’s alright, can’t miss what you never had.” You try to placate her but she just looks more upset.
All you manage to catch from Evie is that Mal and Ben went swimming; and then Mal had said something about not being in love and Ben had confessed he knew about the spell. That the lake washed it off; and you wonder how any of you survived on the Isle if you never thought to research if the enchanted lake had powers. You don’t think too heavily about it; in fact you’re too distracted because the next thing you hear is Carlos grumbling about how Ben and been talking to him on the Tourney field about you.
“I don’t understand what Ben see’s in any of them; at least he made the right decision and left Maleficent's spawn in the dust; wonder if she’ll go full villain after the break up; Evil queen’s daughter is too stuck up to go for Ben and that one is far too chunky for him to be able to do anything with.” It’s Chad who’s making the comment’s Audrey laughing along. You almost wish Mal would use her magic; but you can see the way she’s glaring; and if you happen to slip a page of alchemical recipes in front of her to dye Chad’s hair, or color all of audrey’s pink clothes green; well it’s no one’s fault when it actually happens; everyone knows Mal is useless at Alchemy and you’ve only read about it in books; there’s no way your magic could do anything anyway.
Ben’s smiling a little at you and you want to say something but you also don’t know what to actually say.
“Are you alright?” You don’t know why you’re asking; he’s the one who broke up with Mal as far as she’s said.
“Alright in general or alright specifically because of the breakup?”
“Both?”
“I am ; but I was wondering if you wanted to go out?”
“I’m no ones rebound and I get you’re just asking me out because I’m sure Chad made some joke about it or-”
“No Y/N it’s not because of that; I really do like you.. I just; Mal made me realize it; the lake helped wash the spell off; but I think it didn’t work because of you…”
“You’re telling me I messed with the spell?”
“No; not on purpose..” You wait for him to explain but he just leans forward and kisses you.

Tumblr media
“Are we sure we can we really do this? To (Y/N)?” Carlos asked.
They were in the dorms’ basement kitchen that was available for late night snacks. Mal had found a recipe for love potion cookies.
“No, we are not but do we have a choice?”
“We need a tear. A real, sad one.”
“Let’s just get (Y/N) down here and tell her what’s about to happen.”
“CARLOS! We have no choice! Can you think of another way to get the wand that wouldn’t hurt her because I’d love to hear it!”
Carlos fell silent because he knew he had nothing. This was the only way.
“Okay, so let’s chop up an onion and get you a tear.”
“We need a tear of human sadness. This potion’s the best reviewed. We’re following it exactly.”
“A tear’s a tear.” Jay chimed in.
“Actually, no.” Evie handed Mal the bag of flour. “They both have antibodies and enzymes but an emotional tear has more protein-based hormones than a reflex.”
“Well, look at you.”
Evie smiled proud of herself. Just then, Lonnie strolled in looking for a late night snack. The kids scrambled to hide Mal’s spell book under the egg carton.
“Oh hey guys. Mal, all the girls want you to do their hair! Midnight snack, too?” Lonnie looked at the bowl of cookie dough. She stuck a finger in to grab a bite before the VKs could stop her. Jay took this as his opportunity to try and flirt with her.
“Hey, there.”
“Umm, hi?”
“Do you think it’s missing something?” Mal asked Lonnie.
“Could use some chips?”
“Chips?”
“Chips. Like chocolate chips. Like your mothers would make when you were feeling down about the world?” Lonnie couldn’t help but shed a tear as she realized they didn’t have it easy on the Isle. Mal quickly wiped her tear and plopped it in the batter.
“We’ll be fine Lonnie, thanks for stopping by. Don’t forget your snack! Evil Dreams.”
“Oop, almost forgot. Thanks. See you guys tomorrow. Don’t stay up too late.” And with that Lonnie left the four to finish making the love potion cookies.
(Y/N POV)
“Hey guys!” You run up to everyone crowded around Mal’s locker and by virtue your locker that was right next to her’s.
“Look, Mal made these.” Ben said holding up a cookie and taking a bite.
You snatched the cookie out of Ben’s hand. You were about to take a bite when the VKs stopped you. “Do these have walnuts?”
“Yes!” Mal rushed out, “I mean, Ben told me about your allergy but I completely forgot when making them.”
“Oh well, maybe next time.”
“Haha, yeah, maybe. That’s too bad. I’ll take that back now.”
Mal practically ripped the cookie from your hand. You marveled at that girl’s reflexes. Beside you, Ben started coughing.
“Faldi Faldonza! Ben are you alright?”
Jay came up behind him, “How you feeling, bro?”
Ben stopped coughing and looked around at everyone before settling on Mal and the cookies. “Mal, have you always had those gold flecks in your eyes?”
His comment made you look closer. Ben was the more observant of you two, something he got from Belle. The sun shining down brought out some gold in Mal’s green eyes.
“Huh, you’re right. She does. I’ll see you at the game. Gotta head down to the field early for practice!” You reach in between Ben and Mal to grab your poms from your locker. You quickly gave Mal a side hug and kissed Ben on the cheek— one he didn’t return, probably payback from the cafeteria incident.
“Kill the game tonight, Amandi. You too Jay and Carlos.” You ran to the field for cheer.
~~~~~
The game ended with Auradon winning. The Falcons were a good team, it was honestly neck and neck until the brilliant final play by Carlos and Jay. The whole tourney team was celebrating when Ben grabbed the mic from the MC.
“Everyone. I’ve got a special announcement to make. For my girl out there. Did I mention I’m in love with you? Hit it Doug!”
Out of nowhere the band started to play some music. Ben’s routine started out cute and goofy with the rest of the tourney team slowly joining in. You hid your face with your poms. It’s not like you and Ben ever hid anything but you weren’t the one to be so public with your relationship. Yet, here he was being very, very public with it. The cheer squad decided it would be fun to join and they were all gushing with you as you guys performed your halftime routine on the sidelines in time to Ben’s song.
(Third Person POV)
“My love is R-I-D-I-C-U-L-O-U-S!” Ben sang.
“R-I-D-I-C-U-L-O-U-S!” (Y/N) screamed louder than anyone else. The VKs weren’t paying attention to Ben but to her. This wasn’t going to end well and they knew it.
All of a sudden, Ben jumped into the crowded bleachers during a music break in the song. The VKs watched the look of confusion settle over (Y/N)’s face as Ben made his way to Mal.
“And I would give my kingdom for just one kiss!” He finished singing as he grabbed Mal by the waist. “Mal would you go to coronation with me?”
Mal couldn’t answer him right away. She was too focused on (Y/N). So were Evie, Carlos, and Jay. They watched as (Y/N) shook her head, tears starting to stream down her face before she ran off the field.
“Well, Mal? Will you go with me?”
“Yes!”
“She said yes!” Ben and everyone else cheered.
(Y/N POV)
“She said yes!”
You heard Ben scream into the mic as you ran away towards the locker room. You were hyperventilating, partly from the running and partly from trying to hold back tears. You were confused. This was something you never saw coming. Did it happen while you were gone visiting The Great Wall with Lonnie as she assisted you on your diplomacy trip? Ben could’ve at least told you but you thought everything was just fine.
“(Y/N)?” one of the girls from the squad called out. The whole squad came running in.
“I’m fine. I’m good. See you at practice tomorrow.”
“Oh…okay.”
You shoved your poms in your duffle bag as quickly as possible and made an attempt to scurry out of there. This wasn’t something you wanted to deal with right now. The squad didn’t need to see you weak. On your way out, you caught Audrey giving you a look. It was a mix of sympathy but also a look saying you had this coming.
You were crying on your bedroom floor. You had composed yourself to finally get out of the shower and found yourself back to crying, only now in a fluffy towel. You struggled to remove Ben’s ring from your finger amidst all your tears. Once you did, you threw the ring against the door in anger.
“(Y/N)?”
“Go away, please.”
“It’s us. Are you okay?” You couldn’t recognize the voice but you knew it was different from the first one.
“I don’t know who’s there but I’m fine, you can go now.”
“It’s your gang?” A third voice. Now you knew.
You wrapped your towel tighter and moved to open the door. You wiped your face as the VKs looked at you with sadness.
“I forgot something on our schedule didn’t I? Shit, give me five minutes. I normally have these written down I guess I assumed nothing was happening after the game. I’m so sorry, let me—”
“We came to see if you were okay.” Carlos cut you off.
“I’m fine. If that’s it then you guys can go I’m good.”
“Are you sure you’re okay? Like really—”
“NO! What do you want me to say Jay?! Oh no I’m doing just great! Everything’s fine. That was so embarrassing. No wait, that’s an understatement. I have never been so humiliated in my life! I don’t want to look at anyone of you right now, especially not the person he PUBLICLY DUMPED ME FOR! Wait I didn’t even get publicly dumped, I wasn’t even given that decency.”
You yelled your head off at them. Your face getting hotter and hotter. They looked down at the floor.
“Faldi Faldonza,” you whispered after you came down from your rage cloud. “I’m so sorry. I didn’t… this isn’t what any of us need right now. I just need some space for a bit. This isn’t about you guys, it’s not your fault. Feelings are feelings. I just… I don’t think I can talk till the weekend’s over. Okay?”
“Yeah. We shouldn’t have come barging in on you so quickly.”
“No, no. That’s what good friends do. I imagine Lonnie and Doug are about to follow in your footsteps.” You tried to joke but it came out rather dry. “I’ll see you all next week okay.”
You hugged each of them.
“Bye, (Y/N).”
“Bye, guys. Hi Lonnie, Doug.” You didn’t think they would show up that quick but there they were on their way in as the VKs were on there way out.
“I brought the cookie dough.” Lonnie held up a tub.
“And I brought the emotional support.” Doug offered.
You tried not to cry knowing that the VKs could still hear. They didn’t need to feel bad about this but the tears started once Lonnie and Doug showed up. They both hugged you.
“Shhh. It’s okay, it’s okay.”
The weekend was not the best to say the least. Lonnie and Doug stayed with you the whole night on Friday. Saturday, you saw Ben kiss Mal at his locker. This led to mascara streaming down your face and you quickly ducking your head into your locker as the VKs gave you pitiful looks. Saturday night you pulled out the tiny spellbook Mama Odie gave you. You weren’t born with magic but thanks to your mom and dad’s short lived time as frogs as well as a magic talking alligator for an uncle, you were magically inclined. So were your brothers TC and James.
You ruffled through the book until you found the page on teleportation back home. You packed an overnight bag and found yourself in a branch of the big tree in your backyard. The tree sat in the middle of a bayou. You shimmied your way out the tree and carefully jumped from stone to stone until you made it to the woods part of the castle grounds.
“What you doing back here, Sormanna? You ain’t got a break. Imma go tell Mama.” (big sister)
“You ain’t gon’ do nothing, TC.” You whisper yelled.
“TC! Who you out there talking to?! What’s going… (Y/N)?”
“Chilo, James.” Your big brother was standing in front of you. (Hello, James)
“What you doin’ back here?”
“What you doin’? You should be at college right now.”
“Okay. Fair. But why are you here? Huh, Manni? You don’t come back unless it’s a real break. Mama and Padri know you back?” (sis/dad)
“No. And can we keep it that way plaifavo?” (please)
You hadn’t planned on running into anyone. You just wanted to be away from Auradon for the day. You were going to go to bed in your own room, maybe bribe the servants to keep quiet and sneak you breakfast, spend Sunday outside in the capital city and then return home that night for school in the morning. You certainly hadn’t planned on telling anyone what happened with you and Ben.
“Mi vais botter el culcay.” James said. (Imma kick his ass.)
You, him, and TC were skipping stones across the Bayou. They kept good on their promise to not tell anyone you were here.
“You ain’t doing no such thing.”
“Fine. But you know your manno’s got you, right?” (brother)
“Yeah, I know.” You gave James a hug.
“So does that mean I can’t kick his culcay either.”
“Man, TC, you shouldn’t even be saying that word.” James said as he pulled TC into the hug.
~~~~~~~~~
You were back in your bed at school. Spending yesterday with James and TC was exactly what you needed. Aside from breaks, the three of you didn’t spend much time with each other anymore. You all went to the same school in Maldonia for a bit. But then James went to a school in Camelot Heights and then graduated early and moved on to college. You became the new kid at Auradon and TC, as the baby of the trio, was left in Maldonia.
You shoved whatever you needed into your backpack and put on one of your smaller, simple tiaras. You didn’t really wear any of your crowns on school days, unless it was a special event, but to face the day you felt like you needed extra encouragement today.
“Hey, you good?” Lonnie asked as you sat down next to her for history.
“Yep, Lonnie. I’m doing just fine.”
“You haven’t had to be around them today have you?”
“No. Today is just a quiet day. School, practice, dorm. That’s it.”
What you didn’t tell Lonnie was that you were taking Evie crown shopping during lunch and that’s why you had to rush Evie onto the bus when you saw Lonnie passing by. It still hurt to see all the VKs and Ben together but you figured you could start with Evie and work your way back to the big group. You handed Evie a tangerine once the bus pulled off. The two of you peeled and ate tangerines in silence as the bus drove. When it stopped, you and Evie, jumped off and headed into the boutique.
“I got my first tiaras in Maldonia but we can’t make that trip and be back for your class. But Ben…Benjamin took me here for my first Auradon crown, so here we are.”
“Thank you so much, (Y/N).”
You and Evie tried on dozens of crowns. She had your old one but you felt a true starter pack was three tiaras so you were looking for two more, one silver and one gold.
“Not that one! It screams Charming.”
Evie quickly set down the big silver crown with pearls. “I want nothing to do with Chad Charming. Especially not a crown. You know he tried to get my magic mirror confiscated?”
“Well, I think this one says Grimhilde. Trendy, chic, yet smart.”
Evie laughed as she placed the tiara on her head. You paid for the crowns and you two got on the bus. The tiaras were a gift. You knew Evie and Mal were making money from hair and clothes services for the Auradon kids but they split the money with Carlos and Jay. It was more important they all saved the money they had and not waste it so the crowns were on you. Besides, you offered the shopping trip and Maldonia wasn’t exactly a poor kingdom.
You and Evie were walking up to the campus, arms linked, when you ran into Ben and the other VKs. The awkward tension ran thick. It was a bit overwhelming to say the least.
“Hey, (Y/N).”
“Hi, Jay. Carlos, Mal, Ben.”
You and Evie dropped arms. You handed Evie her shopping bag and started to walk off.
“Wait, (Y/N). Do you want to join us for dinner Thursday?”
All five of them? You were going to have to get over it sooner or later. Going to dinner would feel like ripping off a band-aid, guess this process was starting sooner rather than later.
“Yeah, sounds good. I will write that down right now.”
You pulled out your phone to mark it in your calendar. Your heart dropped as a reminder popped up. You must have had a look on your face, because Jay grabbed your arm.
“Huh? Thursday, right. See you then. Well, I’ll see you in class but dinner okay, bye.”
(Third Person POV)
“What was that about?” Mal hesitated to ask.
“A reminder for Ben’s birthday on Thursday and we just asked her to look and talk to him for a whole lunch hour.”
The VKs were hoping that maybe they got it wrong, that (Y/N) didn’t care about Ben but it was becoming painfully obvious how right they were.
~~
(Y/N POV)
“Isn’t that right, (Y/N)? (Y/N)?!” Carlos called your name.
“Huh?!” You looked up from your work at the table. You guys were sitting outside at one of the picnic benches.
“Sorry guys, New Orleans paperwork. They’re thinking of implementing Maldonian classes into the school curriculum and working their way into becoming a territory, all thanks to Padri…and you guys don’t care.”
“No, no it’s fascinating really. Maldonian, New Orleans territory. We love that stuff.” Jay said sarcastically.
“Chie Pelize,” you muttered under your breath. (So annoying)
“Mi po tambssi parler pluta langues, Prutia.” (I can speak multiple languages too, Princess)
Jay said with a smirk on his face. Your eyes went wide, nobody here but Ben knew Maldonian and even he only knew a few words here and there. You want to wipe the smug look of Jay’s face. You went to put your paperwork in your backpack when you saw the drawstring pouch.
“Right, I almost forgot. Happy birthday, Ben!”
You threw him the drawstring pouch of the rings. You had planned for y'all to wear the rings as couple rings but after the big incident you put all the rings in the pouch. You watched as Ben pulled the rings out of the bag.
“Oh these are really cool, (Y/N). Thanks. It looks like that one old bracelet you had.” There was Ben, always the observer.
“Yeah. That was actually the thing for Audrey, I went to Doc. No biggie.”
“Oh no. I haven’t found anything for you yet. I mean, I had something but it was too romantic considering… I’ll get you something good though, I promise.”
“It’s okay, Ben,” you lied. “Don’t worry about it.”
“Are we missing something?” Mal asked.
“(Y/N) and I are birthday twins.”
“Oh it’s your birthday too?! Well in that case we need cake!”
Mal whipped out her spell book and in no time a cake appeared on the table with ‘Happy Birthday’ written on it. Mal cut out a piece and gave you the first slice. You and the rest of the group ate the cake and talked about everything and nothing.
“(Y/N), do you think you could find a time to show Mal the coronation process?”
“Hmm?”
“I’ve been talking to Fairy Godmother about it and we agreed for Mal to take over the coronation blessing from you.”
“Oh, she doesn’t have to, it’s fine…” Mal interrupted.
“No, Mal it’s cool. You’re the girlfriend. It shouldn’t be too hard. Only took me a week and half to master and I’m magically inclined. You’re magic born, should take you like three days at the most. Don’t worry about not getting it. Besides, you taking this is just one thing off my list as royal advisor so thank you.” You smiled at her.
“Actually, about that… we have a meeting with my parents in the next week or so.”
“About what, Ben? I thought we handled everything, including the budget. There shouldn’t be anything left to do until next month.”
“It’s about transferring some powers, we can talk about this at the meeting.”
“Sorry, Ben, but we really can’t cause I’m not following. Didn’t we already sign the papers. You and your dad signed the transfer of sovereignty last week and Belle and I signed as witnesses.”
“Not my power. But um, Mal as royal advisor.”
“I’m sorry, what? Ben, that’s my job. My literal job.”
“Well, Mal is my girlfriend now so—”
“She is just your girlfriend! Royal advisor has been my position to my parents in Maldonia before I became yours in Auradon. I’m actually still one of the advisors in Maldonia!”
“Royal advisor is just a title before Queen. It traditionally goes to the girlfriend.”
“Hey, Ben, maybe we should just—”
Carlos tried to say something but you grabbed your backpack and stood up.
“That’s such bull Ben! You and Belle picked me as an advisor while you were still with Audrey. It has always been about the job!”
“Audrey was advisor too not just you. She gave it up pretty quickly.”
“Whoa okay, let’s discuss this later maybe?” Jay tried.
“SHE QUIT! That’s why she’s not advisor. She didn’t want a job if it didn’t come with the kingdom. I don’t care about that, Ben! This stress is my life. This is my job! You can add Mal, I’d be happy to show her the ropes but what the hell is this? Removing me from my office?”
“Why are you making this a big deal? What is the problem?”
That got you. Ben couldn’t even understand what he was doing wrong. You rifled through your backpack and found Ben’s ring.
“You know what?! I was going to be nice about this and even give Mal your ring. But you can do it your goddamn self Ben!”
You threw the ring at his chest.
“I can’t do this anymore! Don’t talk to me Ben! You wanna know what’s wrong? Even Audrey didn’t get treated like this? Why can’t you just apologize?!”
“Apologize? For what, because I love Mal?!”
You had nothing. You don’t think you ever heard him say that before. You turned the VKs.
“If you guys want to hang out, just let me know; but I’m not if he’s around. I can’t do this with Ben anymore.”
(Third Person POV)
The VKs didn’t think that argument could have gotten any worse. They watched as (Y/N) collected her stuff. Mal quickly recovered from the shock.
“Jay, Evie go find her. Carlos and I will stay here.”
Evie and Jay were on it, running quickly to catch up with (Y/N).
“(Y/N)! Prutia! Wait, how do you run so fast?!” Jay yelled as he tried to catch up.
“Dammit we lost her. You go that way Jay, I’ll go this way.”
(Y/N) heard Jay and Evie but kept going till she was at the door to her room. Before (Y/N) could open the door, Jay grabbed the doorknob and slammed the door closed again.
“Let me in my room, Jay.”
“Not until you talk to me.”
“Then we’ll be here all night.” (Y/N) tried to push against the door but Jay was stronger than anticipated.
“Talk to me, Prutia.”
“Don’t call me that.”
(Y/N) rolled her eyes. He wasn’t going to let her go. “Okay, fine. Come in.”
“Wicked room.”
“Thanks.”
(Y/N) motioned for him to sit on her bed. She pressed the power button on her electric kettle and got two teacups ready.
“Mal and Carlos are talking to him right now.” Jay said as she was handed a teacup.
“Well they can stop trying, I don’t want to talk to him.”
“You don’t mean that.”
“Right now, Jay, yeah I do. I’m not mad about him and Mal. I’ve said it before, she has nothing to do with this.”
(Y/N) flopped down on her bed, mindful of Jay’s teacup.
“I’m mad that he doesn’t realize he did some things that weren’t right. And that my job matters to me.”
“He’s just not in his right mind.”
“Well, until he gets in his right mind I don’t want to talk to him.” (Y/N) paused. “Will you stay the night? Normally it’s Lonnie and Doug but…”
(Y/N) faltered off. She kept her eyes trained on her teacup. Jay had never seen her appear so broken. (Y/N) was always this head girl in charge. She really cared about her job, it was clear it meant everything to her.
“Yeah, of course I can. I’ll text everyone, let them know where you are and that you’re okay.”
“Tell them they can come over too if they want.” (Y/N) said a little too quickly to not sound desperate.
“Yeah, okay.”
(Y/N) laughed as Jay made himself comfortable in her room.
“What?” he said as he took off his shoes and sprawled out over the bed, resulting in him laying on top of (Y/N).
“Nothing. This is normally just James’ job or Doug if we’re in Auradon.”
“You want me to speak Maldonian? Wear glasses? Would that make it better?”
The two heard a knock at the door. Jay yelled for them to come in. Carlos, Evie, and Mal dogpiled on top of the two. Dude ran up and licked (Y/N)’s face.
“I brought everyone pajamas.”
Evie got up to show. They were nightgowns. Each person had their own signature color with a symbol decal. (Y/N)’s was green with a frog on the right chest and on the back of course, but Evie paid special mind to add blue lily pads around the bottom like Tiana’s blue dress. (Y/N) laughed when she saw even Dude had a tiny nightgown.
“Um, E?” Mal asked, eyeing the hideous things.
“I thought we needed something fun, you know.”
“We are totally wearing the pajamas.”
The VKs, except for Evie, looked at (Y/N) like she sprouted two heads.
“I’m the sad one remember? And the sad one wants the funny pajamas.”
Evie clapped her hands. “It’s settled.”
(Y/N) and the VKs were a tangle of limbs as all five of them tried to fit on the bed. Dude had no problem at the end of the bed, in this moment everyone envied the dog.
“Carlos, if you move your foot one more time, I’m kicking you off the bed.” Mal threatened.
“We should do something fun this weekend,” Evie suggested.
“Um, I actually can’t,” Mal said quietly, “Ben asked me on a date.”
Mal didn’t want to say anything but she figured the truth now was better than an excuse and having (Y/N) find out something later.
“That’s fine. We’ll just do something fun and Mal will have to miss out. We’ll try to have fun for you too.” (Y/N) joked.
“Mmm hmm okay. Goodnight.”
~~
(Third Person POV)
“I can’t do this anymore.”
Mal and the rest of the VKs were in her room. They had left (Y/N) the other day feeling mixed emotions.
“Yeah, we need that wand but not like this.”
“I’m telling Ben at this date. I can’t do this to (Y/N). I didn’t think they’d have an argument.”
“Especially not one that big.”
“Thank you Carlos, really helping me feel better.”
“Okay, let’s get you ready so you and Ben can leave before (Y/N) gets here.” Evie said patting blush on Mal’s cheeks.
As they finished Mal’s makeup, Ben knocked on the door.
“Wow. For the first time, I understand the difference between pretty and beautiful.” Ben said as he saw her.
“Yeah, okay let’s go.” Mal unenthusiastically grabbed his hand and dragged him along.
(Y/N) hid around the corner until they walked away; she had shown up slightly early on accident. (Y/N) knocked on Mal and Evie’s door. The other VKs were still inside.
“Hey, (Y/N).” Jay tried to act cool.
“I already heard. I was right around the corner.”
The three exchanged looks of sadness. It had become apparent that Y/N was not over Ben no matter how cordial she had been.
“I’m fine guys! I’m fine. I said I was taking you out for a picnic. Let’s go!”
Meanwhile at the Enchanted Lake, Ben had set up a picnic for him and Mal. He fed Mal a strawberry, at first she was reluctant but she ate one anyway because he insisted and then discovered she absolutely loved strawberries. Mal looked at Ben’s face, it was full of love— but it shouldn’t have been towards her.
“Ben, I have to tell you something.”
Mal began to explain the whole situation and how bad she felt. But the only thing she could see in Ben’s eyes was love.
“That’s funny, Mal.”
“Oh my gosh, you don’t believe a word I’m saying. You’re still spelled.”
“You’re adorable. Saying I’m sp—”
Mal reached over and kissed Ben. Ben kissed back, holding on to Mal’s waist.
“No! It should’ve worked. True love’s kiss breaks every spell!”
“Is that what that was? True love’s kiss?” Ben kissed her again, this time he had tried to deepen the kiss. It was farther than he and (Y/N) had gone. Mal quickly pulled away.
“I’m going to have to think of something else,” she said to herself. Unspelling Ben would require another potion.
“I’m going for a swim. Care to join?”
“I think I’ll just watch for now.”
Mal flipped through her spellbook as Ben swam. It was hard to find but she found something to undo the love potion. It was in tiny print at the bottom of one of the pages. Of course, her mother wouldn’t want something that could be used for good to have a prominent spot in her spellbook. It had been quite some time since Mal had seen Ben come up.
“Ben?! BEN!” she yelled.
Soon enough Ben popped up.
“I have to go find (Y/N)!”
Mal didn’t know what happened but she saw the shift in Ben’s eyes. “How?”
“The Enchanted Lake washes away all spells. Mal, what did you do?!”
“Ben, I am so sorry.”
“I just have a question. Why’d you tell me? If you wanted us to date?”
He still thought it was Mal having a crush. The VKs were still in the clear with the wand. Ben didn’t suspect a thing. They still had a chance to please their parents, if Mal lied smartly.
“It wasn’t going to happen organically. (Y/N) really likes you Ben.”
“I’ve got to go find her.” Ben jumped out the lake as fast as humanly possible. He rushed trying to put on his clothes.
“She’s with Carlos, Jay, and Evie. They took her on a picnic.”
“I messed up.” Ben said to no one in particular.
“No, it’s my fault Ben.”
“Does your spell make me say things about her being royal advisor?” Ben knew he crossed a line. Mal’s spell may have blinded him but he also took it too far. (Y/N) loved that goddamn job.
“This is all my fault, I’m so sorry.”
“Yeah, you’re right, it is your fault! Shit, I’m sorry… let’s just go.”
“They’re at the big tree.”
“I messed up.” He said again.
(Y/N POV)
“What is up with you and tangerines?” Carlos asked as you handed them out to the group.
“We grow them in Maldonia. And as someone constantly working, it’s usually the only thing I end up eating. Small, no prep, can fit in a pocket.”
“You should really eat more.”
“I’m eating more right now aren’t I?”
You and the VKs were sitting outside underneath the big oak tree on the lawn for your picnic. Doug and Lonnie came along too. You were trying to introduce the VKs to more Auradon people other than you and Ben. Some people were friendly with them; but, so far no one really tried to be their friends.
“Hey, Mal! Benjamin.” You saw the two of them approaching from a distance. “Sorry, you just missed the tangerines!”
“(Y/N)!”
As Ben called your name, you noticed he was soaking wet. Well now this was just rubbing salt into an open wound. Ben had only ever taken you out on dates by the Enchanted Lake, not even Audrey went on a date there. It was you two that built the little pavilion there in the first place, well you suggested to have it built no one trusted you with creating a sound structure.
“(Y/N), I’m so sorry.” Ben said once he got closer to the picnic. Mal quietly sat down next to Evie.
You were caught off guard. You just sat there and looked at him. Lonnie was on the defensive, ready to confront Ben if that’s what you needed.
“I’m seriously sorry.”
“For what? The pavilion date, my public humiliation, firing me.” You could go on. You wanted to go on, adding all the little petty things you could think of.
“All of it. I have so much to explain but just know I feel so bad for what I’ve done.”
“You know, Ben, I don’t really want to hear an explanation right now.”
“Please. Talk to me, Prutia.”
“Don’t call me that.”
“Prutia…”
“You lost all right to call me that, Benjamin.” You had been looking at the ground the whole time.
“(Y/N), I can make this right if you just let me talk.”
“Your words have been saying a lot lately.”
“There’s an explanation for that.”
“There’s an explanation for this! An explanation for that! Come back when you have something that’s not an explanation. I said don’t talk to me Ben and I meant it.”
“No spundite quel algo ce ti penticosa.” Jay warned you. (Don’t say something you’re going to regret)
“Find me when you have something other than words.”
“Amand—”
“No. I’m not doing this with you, Ben. Not today.” You started to choke up a bit. “Not right now.”
“Okay…okay.” Ben said quietly and walked off.
“Oh, look. Chicken tenders, heh.” Doug failed miserably at deflecting.
Everyone grew silent. The air grew heavy and settled around the picnic. Mal gave everyone a look to scram and leave you and her alone.
“We have a lot to talk about.” Mal said. Once everyone left, her mouth ran like a broken faucet.
You could kill her.
“You have ten seconds to get out of my line of sight before I strangle you,” You said watching Mal quickly get up and leave.
~~~~~
(Third Person POV)
“How’d it go?” Evie asked when Mal entered the room. Evie, Jay, and Carlos had been waiting for her to come back.
“Oh, she’s pissed.”
“It could’ve gone worse.
“I’m pretty sure I just got cussed out in about six languages. Jay, do you know what ‘ti maltainda perrsal’ means?”
Jay gave a short chuckle. “Trust me, you don’t want to know. Prutia will get over it.”
“Are we sure?”
Mal felt like she seriously messed up. (Y/N) had been a real friend to the VKs and she might’ve just ruined that.
“No,” Jay said leaning against the doorway. “But, she knows how bad you feel. You better hope that’s enough.”
fave jay Ben scenes
Okay so I only started watching EE last June during lockdown and I started with watching clips of Harry Reid's Ben on youtube, so I don't have as much reference for their relationship before that other than bits and pieces I've read about. But their relationship is everything and I really wish that Max's Ben had more interactions with Jay! Anyway, some of my favorites (in no particular order) are:
Jay helping Ben practice coming out to Abi
That scene of Ben and Jay at the Arches roleplaying being in a gay bar and flirting 😂😂
The aftermath of Jay's sex offender SL and how supportive Ben was when everyone else condemned Jay (that hug when Jay came to Ben after he got kicked out and beaten up on the street 😢)
The scene when Phil was in hospital and Ben was gonna kill him but Jay stopped him oh my goddd!!!! One of my favorite scenes just in general 👌👌👌
Jay being there for Ben after the boat crash (wow Leo mentioning the deaf sl again what a shock lol) like how he just knew that Ben wasn't alright, he immediately clocked that something was off and did everything he could to be there for Ben but without coddling him. Ben needed someone to be assertive/firm with him to keep him from spiraling and Jay is one of the few people that Ben will actually listen to when he needs a voice of reason
And I have to mention the scene at the Vic where Ben's taking to Jay about wanting to marry Callum ❤️ Jay is one of Callum's closest friends as well so I'm sure it means the world to him that two important people in his life are so happy!
Thank you so much for your ask!! 💜💜
