and for your question,, without sprawling out too many details, it's mostly dynamic/gesture lines and the flow of the panel (and to each of their own, i grew up reading/inspired by left-right reading flow (like manga) so you can see the influence, disclaimer, i never did a thorough breakdown with western graphic novels/comic/webcomic so in that context, i don't have a good explanation for that style/genre)

so here's the breakdown! red line is the gesture line of the characters

and green line is the reading flow!

so if you combined them both, you can achieve a very dynamic-esque picture, of course composition/readability is also important but that can be integrated with the reading flow, (ps. you can persuade the reader to follow the reading direction from the character's eye direction/line of sight, it's like an invisible arrow, this can be group with the reading flow)

((these are just notes that i got after breaking down manga paneling, action or not))
