Adam / Lucifer - 3/10, It's definitely a funny concept that Lucifer fucked both his wives and then him, but in reality it's a no from me.

Adam / Lute - 7/10, Their relationship would've been unhealthy af but not gonna lie it's pretty cute. I just love Lute so goddamn much lol.

Alastor / Lucifer - 7/10, I like the concept because it's genuinely funny and kinda cute but only as a crack ship. I definitely don't see it actually happening.

Alastor / Literally anyone else - 0/10, I genuinely don't think Alastor would ever even consider a relationship. He just thinks he's above everyone else.

Angel / Cherri - 0/10, What the fuck y'all, he's gay. This one is weird af and idk why it's even a thing.

One sided Vox / Alastor - 15/10, This is 100% canon in my head. Vox is SO down bad for Alastor and took it SO personally that Alastor couldn't give less of a fuck like the aroace king he is. I love this SO much.

Valentino / Vox - 500/10, This is my Hazbin OTP honestly. These two losers are terrible people but I love them together more than I can even put into words. They just fit so well together and act like an old married couple.

Valentino / Velvette / Vox - 2/10, Velvette sees Vox and Val as her dumb gay dads and I'll die on that hill. They're more like a family and she's the glue that keeps the other two from imploding when they get pissy.

Velvette / Vox - 2/10, Not feeling it. Honestly I think Velvette is aroace and/or a lesbian. I just don't see anything romantic involving her and either of the other Vees.

The material that Bradley's hand brushes against is soft, but he doesn't pay much attention to it until he can see it. He stops in his tracks, offering you a sincere, "Sorry," when he's jostled from his left and rams into you on his right. You turn to glance at him over your shoulder, and you register each others' outfits at the same time, all owlish blinks and hitched breaths.

Bradley speaks first, a murmured, 'Oh-' but you're hot on his trail, an incredulous laugh escaping your lips.

You're wearing the same thing.

Bradley's sporting a faded old Hawaiian shirt, but it's unmistakably the same patterned fabric that your dress is made from. The green on his shirt was a lot brighter when he'd plucked it out of his dad's closet almost ten years ago, but yours is more vibrant, reminding him of a photo of him and his dad that lays in the drawer of his nightstand.

"I like your shirt," You grin at him, and he wonders if the glimmer in your eyes is always there, or only when you've got a drink in hand. It's pretty, he thinks, he hopes it's not temporary.

"I like your dress," He teases, swallowing what he doesn't want to admit is the beginnings of a lump in his throat, "Where'd you get it?"

"I found it at a thrift shop," You admit, reaching out to tug at the open panel of his shirt, "What about you?"

"It was my dad's," He grins, taking one step closer to you so that you're not so much reaching out for him as you are reaching up, "If he'd known there was a matching dress, he would have bought one for my mom."

"That's sweet!" You gush, and he notices whether you want him to or not, that you haven't let go of his shirt yet, "I like it when husbands match with their wives, I think it makes a good man."

"-And that's- that's why he's got that dumbass tie on," Fanboy concludes, words coming out slurred with laughter, "'Cause- cause three years ago she said it'd make him a good man."

"It's not dumb," Bob pipes up with a kind smile, eyeing Bradley's tie and your matching hair tie, a scrunchie made from the same fabric. You'd had to sacrifice your dress to fashion your accessories, but you're wearing maternity clothing now, and you likely won't be able to fit into it afterwards, anyways. It's a thing of the past, but you'd thought it unbearable not to incorporate the reason you'd gotten together with Bradley in the first place into your wedding.

"I don't care if he thinks it's dumb," Bradley drawls, his hand growing clammy from where it's been clutching yours beneath the table for almost an hour now, though he makes no move to break the embrace, "He thinks deodorant is dumb, too, and I can smell him from here."

"I'd watch what you say, Fanboy," Phoenix warns, "They made a onesie for the baby out of that dress, too, and if you keep running your mouth they might not let you hold her."

"He's not gettin' a chance to hold her anyways," Jake vows, "Kid's gonna love me so much she won't want me to put her down."

"You usually have the opposite effect on women," Bradley reminds him, "But the only ones I'll trust to hold her are Phoenix and Bob."

"No fair! I've got nieces and nephews," Jake protests, slightly more invested than normal thanks to the wine he's been nursing, his cheeks growing rosy with each sip, "I'm great with 'em."

"You throw those kids around like they're basketballs," Bradley scoffs, "And I'm not letting you give my baby brain damage, Hangman. I've gotta make sure she's smarter than you."

Ooh, for Shen Yuan’s looks I was thinking a black, blue and silver theme, to Bing-ge’s black, red and gold.

(You can’t tell me emperor Bing-ge, also the Huan Hua Palace master, doesn’t have at least some gold in his formal outfits).

If you look at crow feathers, they have a sort of blue sheen in the right lighting, so blue would be quite fitting!

I also like the idea of his hair being mostly elegant and classy, but with some cute little braids that include colored threads weaved in them, plus shiny bobbles and feathers hanging off the ends. The braids are from his crow family members. It’s a traditional grooming practice!

Anon I am MADLY in love with you. We're going to high five and hug and frolic in the fields together if I ever find out who you are. The idea of little braids being in otherwise elegant hair really fits with my perception of "mainly classy Shen Yuan until his bird instincts kick in (he's also a little gremlin before that)", because he obviously wants to keep his hair neat and presentable but he also has the natural instinct to let people braid his hair to show affection! (Definitely have to have a wholesome little scene where Shen Yuan shows Bing-ge how to braid his hair in the traditional fashion). I love the idea of shiny things being in his hair as well, through shiny beads and threads. BONUS POINTS if he has a shiny little thing that holds his hair up and counts as a little dagger (gifted by one of the others in the crow family as a precaution. Can also be traditional for those who come of a certain age!) On another note, thinking about Shen Yuan in half human form. He retains his wings and I like to think he has spatterings of feathers crawling up his spine and the back of his neck, around the edges of his cheeks maybe? He looks mainly human, but I'd find it cool if he still had those little patches of feathers (like when you see patches of scales on a dragon-shifter type character)

Oh, this is so fun. I've always loved a protective family, and I love Bing-ge being struck by the audacity of the crow family and also jealousy because nobody ever acts like this about him!! His wives do, he supposes, but that's for their own selfish reasons! They don't really care about him like the crow family cares for Shen Yuan. The crow family is only not attacking him because Shen Yuan has said that it's "not cool" to attack the emperor, or whatever. Corvids can mimic that stuff?? Oh my god, the ANTICS! Shen Yuan would totally use it to mess with people when he's bored, jumpscaring people and having fun with story time for the kids. He would also use it when stealing, so that he doesn't have to needlessly hurt anyone to get to the shiny thing he covets, the human side of him holding him back. I'd find it super funny that when the crows (cultivating or not) meet Bing-ge, a few start spurting out every curse they've ever heard from humans, and Shen Yuan has to explain that they're mimicking what they hear people say, they don't mean it! Understanding Lennon McCartney Rewatch Part 1.4

Oh, John. It's hard because I'm like “fame was not good for that man” but I'm also like “he would've gone crazy with self-loathing if he didn't have the fame.”

John and Paul start to answer a question at the same time. John: no, go on, you can say it. They're seriously so married. 

John's schoolboy flirting is cute, but what's more noteworthy to me is a) how happy Paul is to be shoved and b) how he instantly leans back into John. It's like they're bungeed together or something. 

John gets me. Look how much he loves Paul bringing out the forced confidence shield to protect him. He's so in love. So turned on. 

Here's my question about the death threats. Did the other Beatles actually receive them and tell Brian about them and keep them from John? Because that would be incredibly sweet and noble of them, but also, in that case, surely John received death threats too. Meaning he just didn't care about his own life and assumed the others were being left out of it because they hadn't actually said they were bigger than Jesus. Or did they have people filtering all their mail by that point? And Brian had been keeping the death threats from all of them? Because that could be interpreted as both protective and selfish of him. Does anyone know?

Again. I just love how Paul goes to bat for John over and over during this tour. Batting his eyes and playing with his hair and shouting down any and all criticism of John speaking his mind.

This moment is so telling to me. An interviewer who was up front at several concerts points out the looks and smiles between John and Paul which you can only see from the front and asks, “is it really that much fun every time?” The easy answer is, “Yeah. We like what we do. It's fun!” But Paul gets cagey. “Oh well the thing is you know with things like that it's probably…” and he makes up a bullshit story about messing up on a song they haven't performed in a year. Why do that if you don't have something to hide? (Even if you're subconsciously hiding) That right there is a tip-off for me that they're not normal about each other. 

Interviewer: are you guys breaking up? John, immediately and emphatically: No. Paul: "Depends what you mean by breaking up, you know . . . Because we can't go on forever like this, so we've got to think now and prepare for, you know, if it did happen. The time has come for us to break up, but we've realized the possibility . . . Of breaking up as a natural progression." Literally shut the fuck up right now, you're going to give John an aneurysm.

I understand. I know. I don't relate to Paul much but I do relate to his hyperactivity and his avoidant attachment. I make sure constantly that I'll be okay when all my relationships end. But you don't talk about that in front of the other person. Especially someone like John whose worst fear is being left. Come on. Think. 

See, now look what you did, Paul. Here's John's answer the next time they're asked about breaking up. 

And yeah, the klan being the ones to “stand up against the Beatles blasphemy” really proves my point from the last post I think. It's just masked racism. 

It actually seems like Paul's more vocally political at this point in time than John is. I wonder what happened to change that? Was it just the influence of their respective wives? Was it just easier for them to play up the roles they'd been assigned for the most part?

Okay on this round of “are you breaking up” they look at each other first before they answer and then Paul goes “all together probably.” I wonder if they talked about their previous answers together and admitted – however cautiously or however veiled – that hearing the other say they might leave hadn't been fun. Who knows, honestly.  

Paul and John often talk about making a radio show together apparently. Gosh if only they could've done that now. I'd make them my token white boy podcast. It'd be great. They'd be so lame and so adorable and they'd talk about recipes and politics and they'd gossip and rank other people's music. But anyway, what really gets me is the often bit. So they really did plan their post-beatle future together. Enough that it was a frequent topic of discussion between them. They planned to be together forever. 

Ugh it always guts me that Paul brought a girlfriend to Paris with him to meet up with John.

Okay my tin hat is glued to my head for this but. But. Hear me out alright? So John starts filming on 09/19/66. He's there for 6 &½ weeks. Putting the end at the beginning of November, right when Paul goes in disguise and alone to Paris. Do we have tabs on John for those dates? John just talked about going around Paris in disguise. What if  they met up by themselves and in secret? What then?

 No fucking wonder John was exhausted with him. Damn. He takes a month and a half to write strawberry fields, shows it to Paul, then...

Interviewer: the songwriting team will keep going whatever happens will it? John: yeah, we'll probably carry on writing music Forever. It's just so ‘Obviously. Might as well ask me if the sun's going to come up tomorrow.’

His friend – try dangerous drugs with and take home to daddy type “friend” – just died brutally and suddenly two days ago, and this is what he looks like and talks like and he's going in to work like it's nothing. I just. Compare that to John talking about Brian's death? Obviously two very different relationships but still… Paul's upbringing really fucked him up so hard. He thinks he's not allowed to be human. What can I say? It's a drag.

AKA the happiest 6 months of John and Paul's lives. 

I find it fascinating that Paul alone is asked to compose and record what would eventually become the carnival of light and that he just went ahead and included everyone in that. Really makes me wonder if he got a vibe off John that him doing the family way alone was hurtful or if they maybe even talked about it? Or maybe he just didn't like doing the family way without John.

Actually quite a lovely, forward-thinking, humble speech. Imagine being John, though. Watching that from home like “why the fuck is he philosophizing to the world without me?” Because you know John shares all those sentiments and might even have got there first. It would be infuriating.

“A lucky man who made the grade” is an interesting way to describe Tara and I can't help but wonder if it has anything to do with Tara being cool enough for Paul to associate with him. And Paul is many things but stupid is not one of them. He's going to at the very least wonder if this verse is about John laughing at his friend's death. Right? Like I know Paul's the repression CEO but seriously I don't think even he is that good. 

Maybe that Leopold and Leob quote isn't just about tearing people down verbally. Maybe Wooler genuinely got a vibe of a sense of superiority and therefore lack of empathy with Lennon/McCartney.

I mean he really does sound like he's describing sex though, doesn't he? Emotional, loving, romantic sex. Followed immediately by Paul's “I'd love to turn you on” lyrics and the “down with pants” and “sword swallower” pins. Alrighty then.

✨My opinions on KNY ships✨

This is something no one asked for but anyways. (This included platonic and romantic ships, and I'm a multishipper) No hate please on some of my opinions and only the ships that I know will be mentioned and NO adult x minor or sibling x sibling.

Uzuren (Tengen x Kyojuro): I love these two as either platonic or romantic, I wrote a fanfic about these two that is over 80k words so it hold a special place in my heart. This ship was also the reason I got into demon slayer. (Yes I am aware of Tengen having three wives but their dynamic was appealing)

Obamitsu (Obanai x Mitsuri): I think these two are really nice. When I first started demon slayer I didn't hold strong opinions on them but I think they're very cute now and their ending was heart breaking😭

AmaKaga (Amane x Kagaya): I love these two, they're my favourite canon couple in the series and I'm so upset that they died but at least they died together and for a greater cause.

AoIno (Aoi x Inosuke): This ship seemed to come up out of nowhere for me, like they interact and some of it's funny but would've never seen these two as a couple. It's a ship I'm meh on.

Butterfly girls (platonic, Kanae, Shinobu, Kanao, Aoi): I love the found family bond they have and I want to know more about Kanae but over all any pairing out of these four is only seen as platonic for me.

ObaSane (Obanai & Sanemi): honestly these two just seem like friends to me, like two bestie that like to talk shit about others. I know these two gossip when they get the chance and they definitely talk shit about Giyuu.

RenGiyuu (Rengoku & Giyuu): I like their dynamic of being opposites, it's appealing to me but tend to see them more as friends than anything but still a decent ship.

RenMistu (Rengoku & Mitsuri): Love the sibling bond they have but not really into them being romantic with each other.

Rengoku x Obanai: I don't have mush thoughts on this, it's meh to me.

RenKaza (Rengoku & Akaza): I used to like this ship but now I find it really weird like I'm pretty sure Rengoku hates Akaza and Akaza literally killed Rengoku, so it's a no for me.

RenSane (Rengoku & Sanemi): When Rengoku was my favourite character (he's still in my top five) I shipped him with a lot of characters so that included this ship. I personally don't see now, looking back on it.

GenMui (Genya & Muichirou): I honestly have no idea how I got into this ship, for me I ship Genya and Muichirou romantically and platonically. They're both my favourite characters and I like their personalities and possibly the height difference and their fighting style and strength. I could go on and on, I like these two :) (please don't come after me because these two don't have many interactions)

TanKana (Tanjiro x Kanao): It's cute I think this is one of the few ships I like with Tanjiro, I don't know it sits better with me than some other ships.

MuiTan (Muichirou x Tanjiro): I can see where some people are coming from, Tanjiro is a very shippable character but personally I don't ship Muichirou with anyone other than Genya from occasion-to-occasion.

ZenNezu (Zenitsu x Nezuko): ehhhhh, I'm not a big fan of Zenitsu especially in the earlier seasons but he's kinda grown on me, I don't hate this ship but I also don't really like this ship.

InoZen (Inosuke x Zenitsu): not much feeling about this other than I think Zenitsu is very straight but that's just my opinion. :[

InoTan (Inosuke x Tanjiro): I kinda shipped it but I now see them as more of brothers than romantic partners.

InoTanZen (Inosuke x Tanjiro x Zenitsu): My found brothers pairing but honestly these three are chaotic and I love them but it's definitely platonic.

GenTan (Genya x Tanjiro): These two are my babies but it's more platonic than anything, I love how their friendship had developed over the series.

MuiNezu (Muichirou x Nezuko): Similar to MuiTan I only really ship Muichirou with Genya but this ship makes less sense to me than Muitan because Nezuko and Muichirou interact less Genya and Muichirou so the ship seems to be coming out of nowhere for me.

Sanemi & Genya: God their relationship breaks every time, I love both of them and I just want them to be happy and I tend to ignore canon when comes to the ending anyways.

SaneKana (Sanemi x Kanae): Some people will argue that this ship was partly canon but I don't care, it's cute the idea of it but it's not something I personally ship.

Sanegiyuu (Sanemi x Giyuu): I'll be honest I hated Sanegiyuu when I first started getting into demon slayer, it could've been because I didn't like either Sanemi or Giyuu and thought the ship was over down. I will say it has grown on me a lot still not in my top three but I don't hate it and can kinda see where people are coming from. (I have started a plan for a Sanegiyuu fic anyways).

Shinogiyuu (Shinobu x Giyuu): Similar to Sanegiyuu but I don't ship it.

Been thinking about a Rosi fic where he's some type of god and the reader is sacrificed to him and his brother. Most of their sacrifices are of animals and never had a human been sacrificed. However despite this Doflamingo accepts them and upon returning home offers the reader to Rosi as a slave/servant (we know how Doffy views them 😒), seeing as he has none, only a child companion he saved from the brink of death. But he doesn't serve Rosi in the slightest. So Doffy, being as gracious as he is, leaves the reader in his care. Rosi's not sure what to do with them at first but they're very adamant about serving him, having pledged their faith to him before being a sacrifice. He's not used to people doting on him, besides his brother and parents though the former is rather backhanded. He does things for the most part himself. (Side note Doffy obviously has many servants, many of which also pledged themselves to him or were on the brink of death.) The reader basically follows him around like an imprinted duckling, much to little Law's teasing. In addition to not having servants, Rosi also doesn't have any wives or Concubines. Because of this he takes the brunt of Doffys snide comments and his parents pestering of his well being. News flash!! This is also a monster fucker fic because mmmm yeah. So Both Rosi and Doffy have horns and wings and sharp teeths. Rosi's being similar to ravens where they're iridescent black with undertones of purple and reds. And Doffy's being of course a soft pink with intermixed gradation of fuchsia. I'd assume Doffy is a god of wealth? Abundance? Idk. But he's dripping in gold and such. And I feel like Rosi would be a god of life/ rebirth? Love would be an easy one I suppose but other people love seems like he wouldn't feel it's his business. He's like spring, a light and warmth after winter, symbolically, so I figured that'd be a good God for him to be. But idk. Also I like the idea of him growing flowers when he's flustered okay? Its Cute.

But anyway, similar to Law, through time he becomes very close and subsequently protective of them. Oftentimes looming over them slightly and having his wings drape over his shoulders and enshroud them, a little similar to a penguin and its parent. He does this regularly with both of them. His protectiveness harbors a bit of possessiveness when he begins to have feelings towards the reader. It's cute, how extra clumsy he gets when they're around, how little clovers, sprinkled with flowers and clover daisies, grow under his feet when he's walking around thinking of them, how wide he smiles and fluffs his wings when he makes them laugh. However it becomes apparent, more so to those around them, than whenever they're around anyone who might be a romantic threat, or more so in his eyes, a possible mate, Rosinante is looming over them with a menacing aura. This happens partially with Doflamingo's companions, but especially with his brother himself. Doffy has many wives and concubines and has been seen eyeing the reader up occasionally. As well as Doffy loves to feel powerful, and sometimes that means taking things from his little brother to make him feel small. And just the thought of his brother touching them causes his mind to yearn to sink his teeth into their neck marking them as his own. To hold them close as he slides them down onto his thick long cock, eventually knotting in them and filling them with his seed, fucking it back into them, insuring it takes. To have them walk around with their belly round, carrying his children. That their his, all his, and no one could take them away. But he holds back from making any forward movement romantically with them, unsure if they feel the same. Though they would like nothing more than to be loved and filled by Rosinante.

I'm imagining a moment after they become intimate, and are now together, that Doffy makes a flirtatious comment toward them when Rosi isn't looming over them. However he's quickly by their side, squaring up against his brother, to everyone's surprise. There's something almost animalistic to the protective glint in Rosinante's eyes when he looks at his brother then, their wings puffed out and teeth bared. Doffy is the one to cave first, but not without showing he's the one in control. He defuses the tension a bit, claiming it was just a simple flirt but that he's got the message. Then slings an arm around Rosi's shoulder pulling him close and muttering to him something about how he's whipped now. (Can't have Doffy without snide demeaning comment 👍🏻✨).

yeah the fb group her and jean met through was in my mind some sort of spouses/families group for the guy's unit. they were both young wives with lil babies so they started messaging and got tight pretty fast. jean called the group cursed in the social media au bc there was always drama, notttt from them though. helen and jeanie are good girls <3 mostly <3

but winding it back, helen grew up in west virginia in the same little area that nash did and that's how they met.

he already started to process to enlist before they got married so talk about timing w/ her being pregnant. but he gets through basic and tech school before the baby comes.

is in florida doing some sort of training thing under rosie w/ the guys in that crew when she's gettin' reallll close to giving birth. but rosie likes him, and likes helen so he pulls some strings so that nash can get his butt back to west virginia in time.

that baby is his whole world <3 best day of his life. best day of helen's life. if it's a smidge because it's the happiest her parents have ever seemed with her then that's something to unpack later but.

she loves nash, loves their baby boy, life is good.

he ends up bringing her and the bby down to florida so he can be with him while he's still stationed at the base down there which is for quite a bit. the distance from her folks does her some good too.

then that crew of guys gets their orders to deploy to bagram (((:

wyatt is about eight months old. they see him off from florida and then move back up to west virginia to be closer to family while he's gone.

except seeing him off in florida is the last time her and baby wyatt will ever (outside of a screen, they do video call a bit before It Happens) see him again.

Giyuu:

Giyuu is overall very quiet and I don’t picture him to be very expressive about how he’s feeling

Even after being in a relationship for some time, he’s not the type to throw compliments your way or really verbally express his love for you, BUT he does love you, a lot!

When he finds out about your insecurities Giyuu is a bit lost on how to help you feel better

It pains him to see you so self-critical about the way you look because he genuinely doesn’t see anything wrong with you

You’re gorgeous, incredibly kind, and you managed to find room in your heart for a cold guy like him–you’re perfect in his eyes

I think he’d try and go out of his comfort zone to maybe verbally express what he loves about you and maybe telling you you’re beautiful more often, along with telling you he loves you more often than usual

As for the speaking part, he won’t exactly realize you’re holding back from saying something in a group setting, but he would if it’s the both of you spending time together

He’d see your eyes light up when you see something you like, and your mouth moves to speak, but you stop yourself–sooo he’ll make the first move to speak, maybe mentioning how nice it looks and ask what you think about it

Making openings for you to speak instead of holding back because you’re scared you’ll embarrass yourself–Giyuu definitely won’t laugh, heck he probably won’t even notice if you say something embarrassing, and even if he did, he wouldn’t care

So overall Giyuu’s approach about comforting you is very chill and direct at times, but genuinely he just doesn’t get why you’re insecure

Rengoku:

Listen, I just know he’d have a whole inspiring speech to try and make you feel better about yourself

He’s always encouraging you to speak, and even directs the conversation at you sometimes to get your opinion or answer about something

Rengoku drinks ‘respect women’ juice for breakfast so you know he’s going to make you feel good about yourself through not only his words, but actions as well

Whenever you get a little quiet during a conversation he probably says something embarrassing so you both can laugh and try to get you to open up more with him and whoever else you’re around

I mean, who cares if you say something embarrassing? He’d just laugh fondly thinking it’s cute, but if anyone says anything about it to you to try and make you feel bad about yourself he’d politely ask them to stop and will proceed to make you feel better

The last thing he wants is for you to hold yourself back because of your insecurities, he adores openness as he is a very honest, open person so he’d love for you as his girlfriend to be the same way

Of course, if that’s something you’re still working on then he’d patiently help you through it, he doesn’t want to force you to be open with him about your insecurities and pretend like they don’t exist, but rather he wants to work on helping you see yourself the way he sees you

You’re perfect in his eyes, absolutely perfect; from your personality to every inch of your body, it all looks like art to him

If he finds you thinking badly about yourself get ready for a whole hour long speech about how amazing you are and how much he loves you

Tengen places his wives at first priority; always his number one–he’s a very affectionate man, so you of course are no exception to that

Perhaps maybe it’s the other wives being around that makes you feel insecure? Comparing yourself to them or maybe you notice Tengen spends more time with them than with you? If so, then Tengen gets to work wiping those insecurities out of your mind QUICKLY

After all, it’s not very flashy to have your wife feeling bad about herself, he’d feel like he’s failing as a husband–he just wants you to be happy and to love yourself as much as he loves you

Vesuvia Weekly: LI and Apprentice Dynamics

Finally getting to join the party started by @vesuviaweekly!

(fair warning I love writing about this kind of stuff so there are a looot of words here lol)

Meleia & Asra

(sketch by the amazing @missrabbitart it's wonderful I love it so much)

Truly two halves of a greater whole.

Soft soft soft soft soft

They're both each other's first love, which is really cute.

(And both of them were super awkward about it at first because neither of them knew how to actually Talk to people)

Meleia loves Asra's wanderlust. Life is never boring with him.

Asra adores the way Meleia throws her all into whatever she cares about, be it as mundane as a sewing project or as huge as protecting the people she loves from the likes of Lucio or the Devil.

And on the subject of sewing... they're both crafty people!

Meleia makes her own clothes and Asra knits, so the two of them combined are a force to be reckoned with.

Meleia has a lot of self-confidence issues for a lot of reasons. Asra's always been there to help her through her rough spots.

Neither of them have a good sense of direction, so Faust and Forge (Meleia's familiar, a fennec fox) always end up doing most of the navigating when they travel.

They love reading together, making things together, exploring together, dancing together... they'd basically do anything and everything together.

(Except cleaning. Asra leaves stuff everywhere, and Meleia likes to keep the shop neat. It's about the only thing they have teasing arguments about.)

To Meleia, Asra is home. She can truly be her awkward and shy and geeky self around him, and she appreciates that more than she can ever say.

To Asra, Meleia is a beacon of light and joy. She cares so deeply about things and people, including the little kid who grew up alone on the docks.

Songs that remind me of Them: "A Whole New World" from Aladdin, "All I've Ever Known" from Hadestown, "Curses" by the Crane Wives.

Damian & Julian

In a nutshell, they are that one scene from Coco.

In all honesty, though, they tease each other but they are very much in love.

They're both intelligent and leaders in their fields of study.

Damian's an alchemist, Julian's a doctor... their styles have more in common than Julian ever thought at first.

They can and will be found having intense discussions about various practices in both medicine and alchemy using highly technical terms that no one else in the room understands.

They were a dream team when working to find a cure for the plague. Except for the arguments where Damian insisted that the plague itself must have been magical in nature and Julian was firmly convinced it was nothing more than a disease.

Damian's stubborn, and never afraid to show his anger or annoyance, but Julian always has a way of making things up to him. And they never stay upset or mad at each other for long.

Both of them are musically inclined, Julian with his vielle and Damian with his guitar. So whenever emotions are too strong for words, they connect through playing together.

Julian is all for the drama, while Damian's humor is more dry and witty.

Julian is the only person who can get Damian to dance on a table.

Chimalus, Nadia, and Portia

I've talked about Chimalus' dynamics with Nadia and Portia before, but I wanted to go into more detail about the polycule here :)

Dream Team 2 Electric Boogaloo

Chimalus and Portia are both always at the ready to help Nadia with whatever plan she has, be it city reservations, the next Masquerade, or just a picnic out in the garden.

Chimalus is the Heart of the trio, with their pure loyalty, good judgement, and a particularly kind heart.

Both Nadia and Portia admire Chimalus' quiet strength and clever mind. No matter how tough the problem, Chimalus finds a way to keep a relatively cool head and work their way through it.

Whenever Chimalus' lingering trauma pops up from their dark past, Nadia and Portia are always right there to help them through it.

Portia loves "dragging" Nadia and Chimalus off on adventures. Not that Chimalus or Nadia complain.

Book buddies!

The three of them basically have their own book club. They always meet up as soon as they're done reading the current book and chat about it over snacks (and usually tea and/or wine).

They all bond over animals, too! Between the palace horses, Chandra, Pepi, and Chimalus' familiar Skye the bluebird, they have quite a few critter friends to fawn over together.

Can we talk about Solomon...? Tbh in the OG obey me game i never found him interesting, that is until Nightbringer came out. He feels much more fleshed out here, and i think it's cute that both Solomon and MC share a living space together as if they're married.

I also find it very interesting that Solomon is based on the REAL King Solomon of Israel. There's so much lore surrounding him, and i find it kinda sad that the devs don't use it to their full potential to the plot. Of course, they make references here and there, plus his pacts with Barbatos and asmodeus, but i feel like they could do much more?

Can we talk about how biblical lore, King Solomon, also had (foreign) 700 wives and 300 concubines, and his greatest sin was in building temples for the gods that his wives worshipped Young Solomon is a playboy xD even though i'm sure he married all of those women for power, so it's more likely not out of love but more political expediency? and apparently, "his wives turned his heart after other gods” (Kings 11:4), and thus, he built shrines to the gods of their religions. In the biblical account of his reign, God tells Solomon he will punish him for his apostasy by breaking up his kingdom after his death. Seeing how Solomon is still alive in the Obey me universe, that would mean he had to witness his kingdom being split into two kingdoms (The people revolted against heavy taxes levied by Solomon and his son, Rehoboam). He also probably had to watch many people he truly cared about pass away. (Do you remember that one Gif in the OG Obey me that he was crying in front of a grave??)

BUT, as I mentioned before, since he had many wives, naturally, he had children as well. The documented children of his were Rehoboam, Menelik I, Taphath, and Basemath.

So maybe the reason why the devs didn't mention this might be because fans might get jealous? Seeing how many were upset when Thirteen (the first female character) was announced because they were threatened that she might be stealing the boys, I can see why they didn't include that information.

It does seem like more people are enjoying Solomon since Nightbringer! In fact, the fic I wrote about Solomon shortly after NB came out was the first time one of my fics really took off - it got so many notes in the first day or so and I was so confused lol.

Anyway, I personally started to really enjoy Solomon's character in season three of the OG, but they definitely made him more prominent in NB! And of course I loved that he and MC were living together... it was so cute, nearly all my Solomon centered fics after that are about them in Cocytus Hall.

As for the Biblical lore, I can guarantee you it had everything to do with not wanting any of the love interests to have had any wives in their past. Of course, they don't explicitly say as much, so I think you could headcanon that Solomon still had all his 700 wives and 300 concubines.

I also think they don't go too heavy on the Biblical stuff for the reason of not wanting to offend people who actually believe in this as a religion. I think there's probably only so much you can really use if you want it to stay somewhat neutral in that regard.

By only loosely basing Solomon on the real King Solomon, they give themselves the space to do whatever they want with his character. They're not as bound by the source material. So they only pick and choose the parts they want to include.

I think they do this for the entire story, honestly, not just Solomon. For instance, who is Diavolo even supposed to be? I always thought he was supposed to be kind of a stand in for "the Devil" you know?

But anyway, I digress.

I think they kind of completely rewrote Solomon's past. Considering how he was said to be locked up in a basement as a child, after which he was brought to the Fountain of Knowledge by Barbatos... so when was he actually King? Perhaps after that? And maybe it was then that he would have had all the wives and such?

I definitely remember that particular gif... I made everybody upset when I suggested that it was MC's grave he was crying at lol. Sorry, guys.

But it could just as easily be a wife he actually loved or one of his sons. (Though how is it he only has four sons when he has 700 wives and 300 concubines?? I don't know anything about Bible stuff lol perhaps these are just the ones with names??)

Anyway, I'm fairly certain that people wouldn't like him to have all those wives and concubines. Maybe one wife could be handled, you know, because she'd obviously have been dead for a long time. But I dunno. People get jealous over the idea that Solomon was Lilith's lover, too. So probably best for the game if they just don't go there at all lol.

I do think it would be interesting if they introduced another demon that he happens to have a pact with. We never see any of the others, but I suppose that's more about a lack of space... it's not like they can add 70 characters... in fact, I take it back I am glad they've kept it to the two we have, no more are needed, thanks!

I know I just said that we shouldn't categorize people in history, but when it comes to the presidential podcast, I do find myself sorting presidents into "good" and "garbage" piles based on how they treated their wife.

Good

Ulysses S. Grant gets top marks here. I'm not crazy about his wife, but he was, and they're cute together. She was sunny and upbeat enough to boost him through a lot of years of struggle, and he was devoted to both her and the children.

Theodore Roosevelt was a loving husband to both his wives and a ridiculously devoted father to all his children.

James Garfield starts out in the garbage pile because he married her without love and had an affair, but the way they both overcame that to fall deeply in love is a pretty beautiful redemption.

Woodrow Wilson seems to have had a pretty good relationship with his wife. I know less about them so this is a tentative classification, but she was willing to basically help run the country after his stroke, so it suggests there was something good there.

Garbage

Warren Harding reigns in the garbage can. Multiple unrepentant affairs with long-term mistresses.

FDR was already on pretty shaky ground in my mind, but once I learned he had an affair with Eleanor's secretary, and then Eleanor stayed with him through polio, and then at his death he was with this same secretary while Eleanor was away, he lost a lot of points.

Middle Ground

Lincoln and his wife had a pretty rocky relationship, but from what I can tell they tried to make it work and were planning on taking steps to improve things before his death.

Chester Arthur's wife hated that he was constantly away on political business, which gives him a lot of bad husband points, but also she did want that high-class, high-status lifestyle, and from what I can tell he did love her and had a lot of regrets after she died.
