🍂 Sun conjunct Saturn individuals inherit mindsets from the father, grandparents or great-grandparents. They might never fully act like their Sun sign (aka "shine"), since they've been conditioned from a young age to listen to parents, teachers, and later on bosses. 🍂 This is a theory of mine that i've come up with and i'd love to hear your thoughts on it. When it comes to intergenerational astrology, i do believe that we inherit all of our personal planets placements from our parents and ancestors. But then you might say "But i don't act like my mother at all! This is bullshit!". I'm not saying we're all carbon copies of our family members. What makes us unique and distinguishes us from our parents and grandparents (or even great-grandparents) are the way the planets aspect each other in our birth charts and the planetary configurations between them. Chimera Constantine breakdown, refs & nods mega-post

Welcome to the master post of behind the scenes for the Chimera Constantine comics. In the style of the Sons of Mars ones I made, this post archives our research and process. So here we go! This will be a mix of showing references and personal anecdotes for how we cobbled this project together.

I'll be repeating some things I've mentioned across blog posts because I like having all this info in one place.

So! There's a lot of ways to go about re-interpretation and re-imagining a story, and one of my techniques is to not get overly attached to research. While it's good to be informed about a character, sometimes knowing every little thing about them can make one hesitant to innovate and try something different with them. So I'm purposely mindful about how much material I research.

But how does something like that work when the character in question has only 2-3 total appearances, one arc, and a quick revisit several years later? We play twin telephone.

For this project, Cin read the Hellblazer Golden Boy arc and vaguely retold it to Jes, who would then write a story based on assumptions and half-remembered memories of the story. Letting personal experience, influences and bias fill the blanks. We're inspired by how Naoki Urusawa wrote Pluto based on his mis-remembered memories of reading Astro Boy. Also when I was a kid I used to look at book covers and summaries and make up a story based on the limited information I was given. It's fun for me. Part of why I love obscure characters so much is that the lack of content about them lets the reader fill in the blanks about their lives and try telling new stories about them that aren't constrained by a saturated canon.

The original Golden Boy arc written by Jamie Delano (#39-40) is about John Constantine coming to the realization that he strangled his twin in the womb. After taking some 'shrooms, John...manifests into another reality, it's very surreal. There, John meets his twin from a universe where John had died, and his brother gets to live. The twin (taking on the name John Constantine, we'll call him Golden Mage to keep it simple) is John's opposite in every better way. They decide to merge their souls to restore...the universe. You kind of had to be there.

John's twin returns many issues later (#249) to wrap up a different arc, there he and the story are written by Andy Diggle.

The first panel of our full comic references the tarot cards John gets from his reading with Zed.

This panel is a direct reference to this scene where John sees his own shadow on a curtain after his reading with Zed. I like the imagery of this arc, even when the dialogue describing twins is really cringe. We changed it to a mirror to reinforce the mirror imagery throughout the comic. Speaking of which...!

Through Jes' reworking of the story, mirrors were streamlined to be the main way alternate universes were portrayed in the story. They'd be the main motif that paralleled the twins too. In issue #249 of Hellblazer, John uses the mirror to confront his twin who resides within himself after their soul-merge years ago.

The line "He's so beautiful, he frightens me." is spoken by a doctor witnessing the Golden Boy's birth in his universe. We repurposed it to be John's dialogue for when he's describing the man he sees in the mirror.

John's twin uses a sacrifice involving these candles to summon his sickly twin. Jes repurposed the use of candles to a magic salt circle that contains spirits like the Golden Boy (he's nicknamed "Goldie" in our take).

The Golden Boy! Even though he died in the womb, he's portrayed as a boy. Probably because a floating fetus wasn't what they were going for. We wanted to give him a distinct look that foreshadows how much he would grow his hair out. I like that his mouth isn't visible! We use the shape of his eyes and posing to get across how he's feeling. It gives him a vacant-toddler-stare I find really endearing.

We made some minor adjustments to the Golden Mage's design. Initially, we followed his canonical pulled back long hair. But since he was a challenging character to emote when we had one less arm to work with, we decided to part his hair so that it could carry how he's feeling. I like when I can get it to cover a part of his face for intense moments! If it was animated, it would 100% be expressive Ghibli hair.

Our main goal for Golden Mage's characterization is to make him feel like his own person. In the original arc, he's less of a sibling and more of an au of John Constantine himself. He doesn't get his own name. Despite gloating about having a better and more fulfilling love life than John, he also shared the exact same love interests John does. Being a twin is less about a family story and more a vehicle to talk about self hatred and potential here. Which isn't fair to the individuality of the characters!

So we characterized the Golden Mage to still have his canon charisma (albeit with the dialogue toned way down from his original appearance), but to have a thinly veiled temper under all that bravado to foil his con-man trickster brother. The Golden Mage was vaguely described as not being particularly attached to the love he receives. Golden Mage is also dismissive of his womb twin's death, saying it's something he shouldn't grieve since he never really knew him. We reinterpreted these lines as him being in denial over his brother's death, thinking himself as above his own feelings of grief.

Also as a tiny note, we kept the Golden Mage's name ambiguous to keep with the vibe of the original comic, but in my mind I headcanon his full name to be Marigold "Goldie" Constantine. The yellow flower is culturally associated with prosperity, but also grief and jealousy. It's perfect for him! So we made references to the flower in the cover and first panels of the comic. I also headcanon that as a kid he called John Constantine's ghost "Johnny".

My influences for how this whole beginning meeting scene is staged and played out is E.M Carroll's When I Arrived At The Castle. The "animated" panels of Golden Mage looking back at John and breaking through the mirror is a direct call back to the keyhole sequence in that comic! The premise of daydreaming about how your life could have been and not realizing that you're staring at an alternate universe is loosely inspired by Junji Ito's Hellstar Remina. I really like the concept of staring into the unknown and then something sentient staring back from that. "What if our day dreams are just other realities we're dreaming of" kind of deal. I don't see that sort of thing in the saturation of multiverse stories these days.

Next reference is the Dead Boy's Heart! While I like that this story's its own thing, I was surprised it wasn't linked to John's dead brother in any way. It felt thematically relevant, so we brought it over as a device to trap Goldie while the brothers merge souls.

Twins can be positioned in a bunch of ways in the womb. I think canonically, John and Golden Mage were positioned like they are in the cover for Hellblazer #39, ideal for strangling I guess! We changed it to echo the motion of yin and yang. I do think the inclusion of yin and yang is a little cringey in the original comic even though I get what it's going for (balance and all that, it's just kind of simplistic to the philosophy). But I do like it as a way to echo card imagery we established in this comic. We combined the imagery of the tarot cards featured in the Golden Boy arc and King/Queen/Joker playing cards. So it felt right to bring back that whole upside down twins in the womb thing. Special fact, this is how my twin and I were vibing in the womb.

The scene where the twins hit Ctrl + E to merge layers! It's a pretty iconic pose! I like how their heads peaked out of the panels so I brought it back for our comic too. In our version, the twins fail to merge their souls entirely. In the revisit to the Golden Boy character in the comics in issue #249, it's revealed that the merging "failed" in some way, trapping the Golden Mage within John's soul.

For John's ghost counterpart from Golden Mage's universe we took Dave McKean's portrayal of him very literally haha. I know he doesn't literally have one eye, but we thought it gave him a really distinct look for us to stylize. We decided to keep the ghost kids consistent with no mouth and vacant pupil-less stares. We gave ghost kid!John a sort of bedsheet ghost form to contrast against Goldie.

Speaking of one eye! That's another motif we decided to emphasize throughout the comic. It's not in the source material at all, but we liked it as a way to both hint at chimerism and visualize how the two brothers serve as incomplete halves of each other. Special fact! Heterochromia can show up in chimera twins. Of course in the case of identical twins like the Constantines, their chimerism isn't as detectable since they have identical sets of DNA. But! It's still fun to stylize in a supernatural way. For our take we show the glowing golden eye as the soul of the Golden Boy manifesting in his brother. I like to think that John takes advantage of how undetectable his chimerism is to have an upper hand in any soul-related deals he makes.

This stylized heterochromia is inspired by @ratblazer 's Constantine design! I made a subtle nod to it with young punk John's make up echoing the scar in her design too.

For John's dynamic with Goldie the Golden Boy, we built the conflict of the story around making him doubt his attachment to his dead brother. There's a line of dialogue in the revisited Golden Boy arc about John needing to "let go", so we repurposed it into the Golden Mage assuring him that his attachments make him weak.

Even though the Golden Boy doesn't show up nearly as much as I think he should in canon, John has been shown to be really sentimental about him. John wants to be the Golden Boy's friend because he's so beautiful John mistook him for Jesus as a kid. Canonically, the Golden Boy ghost rejects John's friendship, likely still not over the whole strangulation in the womb thing. It still breaks John's heart though, he's a sobbing mess about being owned by a dead kid.

We changed this whole dynamic! The twin murder in the womb felt very X-men Xavier vs Cassandra Nova, and it's hard to get behind babies having that much motivation before they're even born. In our version, Goldie is a vanishing twin absorbed by John, the sickly twin. Infants being accidentally strangled by umbilical cords does occur in reality. However, we changed their origin to being that of Vanishing Twin syndrome because it was more specific for the ideas we were going for.

I feel this crucial change is more in tune with the overall themes of Hellblazer. John always cheats death at a cost. People are constantly sacrificed for John's continued survival. But the Golden Boy's case would be special, because he sacrificed himself out of love before he even knew what it means to love. Unlike the other ghosts that haunt John Constantine, Goldie isn't resentful of John. I think it makes more sense for the Golden Boy to be attached to John because he's all the Golden Boy's ever known. As a chimera twin, John is like a horcrux holding his brother's soul in his body. This reaffirms survivor's guilt to be something John experiences since his birth.

Canonically, although the Golden Mage initially feels sorry for the ghost of John that haunts him, he rejects John as well. John's ghost in canon is like a nuisance that keeps bothering Golden Mage. There's an instance mentioned of Golden Mage trying to recreate his murder in the womb? It's cryptically written. But Golden Mage does keep using the phrase "banished" to describe his brother.

We took this and made it so that he performed an exorcism on himself to remove his supernatural chimera-bond to John's ghost. The Golden Boy arc is pretty unique when compared with how saturated multiverse stories are nowadays since it doesn't share the science fiction sensibilities. Grief comes up a lot in multiverse stuff, in these stories characters use parallel universes to save a loved one as they're bargaining with their loss. For our take, we wanted a character to use the alternate universes to hurt and lash out at the loved one they're grieving. I pulled influence from Everything Everywhere All At Once's concept of a self destructive character on a search for the one familial connection who could understand what they're feeling.

References! The first panel is a nod to issue #36 where John is sleeping with Marj. We changed her to Kit. The second panel is a direct callback to issue #67, an iconic visual for his break up angst era.

Trivia; this page was added at the last minute! I needed something to bridge the birthday cupcake page and the final panel of Golden Mage's breakdown, so I linked them through candles! In this weird case, I reference my own work! This is a callback to Birthdays, a short comic we made for John Constantine's canonical birthday. It sets the premise for his relationship with Goldie based on the habits and experiences of survivor twins. The pages referencing this comic are meant to re-establish that John shares meals with his twin.

I wanted this page to feel like John's lighting an incense for his dead brother, and to contrast it with the snuffed out candles from Golden Mage's flashback. The candle has a yellow and blue intertwined spiral pattern that calls back to the color of John and Golden mage's dialogue boxes and speech bubbles, along with how twisted they look when they merged. Implying that in this universe, they're together in some way. I really wish I did this intentionally but it was by complete coincidence of making the cupcake pink and balancing it out with pastel primaries. But I sure can acknowledge how cool it looks symbolically okay???

The dialogue here is a nod to John's monologue in issue #19 where John is comforting Simon Hughes. It's re-contextualized a bit to be about sharing grief together in our comic.

This is a really goofy one but- since Golden Mage is supposed to be the fully realized potential of John, we thought that he would have a successful career as a musician and singer where John didn't. I don't think Golden Mage would be a punk singer though, he probably does something he'd consider more elevated.

BUT-! In the 30th Anniversary edition of Hellblazer, Sting (the guy John's appearance is based on) wrote an introduction for the edition while roleplaying as the Golden Boy. Which is nuts. The Anniversary edition basically canonized Sting as being a Constantine variant in our universe with the soul of Golden Boy. Sting, as Golden Boy, describes himself as a musician and singer too. Absolutely bonkers for Sting to throw me a bone this late in the game since no one's touched this character in ages.

So that brings us to the end of the comic! We've had the ideas for this comic cooking for some time, and it's people's continued interest in our takes on these characters that gave us the chance to finally bring the story together.

I'm very fascinated by the Golden Boy story, not because it's particularly strong compared to other stories in Hellblazer's run, but because its intriguing premise is bogged down by its surreal take on typical Evil Twin tropes. og Hellblazer's strength was always in its raw humanity. John Constantine's character countered the sensational spectacle of his superhero contemporaries. He may be able to outwit a vampire but he's can't fight back against being brutalized by the police. In one of his most iconic arcs, he finds out he has cancer- not because of any supernatural shenanigans, but because he literally smokes too much. In another arc, John's long time girlfriend breaks up with him, and he lashes out by saying the cruelest things to her. When he hears that his abusive dad is murdered, John still cries about it.

I think the Golden Boy arc and the retcon that followed his brief return actively undermines what makes Hellblazer special. Suddenly John's having X-Men-level evil twin escapades in the womb. Suddenly, merging with his twin will help save the universe. Suddenly, it's not smoking that caused John to have cancer! It was actually because he merged with his twin and his twin became the cancer from inside him! Suddenly it wasn't a moment of lashing out that caused John to say all those cruel things to his ex upon their break up, that was actually the Golden Boy controlling him from within, so you see it's not really his fault! Also what followed the break up was extra devastating because of the Golden Boy, somehow.

Often I hear in fandom that when you change a character too much from their canon counterpart it's basically "just an oc" at that point, but in the case of characters who get to be re-imagined and passed through many creative teams, I think that kind of mindset is deeply limiting for transformative work. The line I draw between "just an oc" and an interpretation is if the changes involved engage with their source material in any way or if they're just superficial. Big changes and 180 flips can work because they still respond to the history of said character. It's why we see that kind of thing in canon a lot. These characters are inherently built to be passed through many hands in meaningful ways to varying degrees of success. So I hope that by showing all this process that goes behind big changes to a canon character, people better understand what can go into transformative creativity.

Our thesis for this re-imagining is to take what makes Hellblazer special and re-examine the arc that we felt undermined that. Despite the grief John has for many characters in his cast, mourning isn't brought up at all in the Golden Boy arc. It's dismissed by the characters in narration, and the Golden Mage himself isn't even recognized as a sibling by the narrative, no matter how many times John calls him "bro".

Survivor twin grief over dead womb twins especially is a real thing that's often dismissed because in the words of canon Golden Mage himself "I couldn't mourn for those I'd never known". This is not true to the experience of twins. They play with and remember each other from spending 9 months growing in a tight space together. So when one of them doesn't make it out with the other, that survivor feels a grief they can't comprehend. It can manifest in unresolved trauma, commitment issues, and survivor's guilt. All things that feel so relevant to the themes of John Constantine's character. I think that by integrating the real lived experiences of survivor twins, the Golden Boy arc could've been one the most human and personal parts of the original Hellblazer run. It's could've been a story that helped a community of people so rarely validated in their grief feel seen.

You grow up thinking all relationships were meant to be like this. I just heard the word ‘transactional’ so maybe some of you who are well in your adulthood view your relationships to be more like a business transaction than a genuine relationship. You’ve set low standards because you feel that’s all your worth. Communicating boundaries may be difficult for you because you don’t want to step on anyone’s toes, because you feel you'd rather have this than nothing at all.

There’s a shift though. I just felt a surge of… quiet anger. It’s not the explosive, shouting-at-your-face type of anger, but it’s like a switch has just been flipped and you begin to realise you deserve more than you’re getting. You distance yourself from the people around you or you will soon. For some, I could even see this be a physical move. The point is that you become a bit of a hermit for a while. If this is yet to happen to you, I got a strong message to look back to your childhood self for guidance—what would they have wanted for their older self? It’s odd because I can almost see you from their point of view, and the admiration is so great for you and your potential it can come across as overwhelming. I say you’re a ‘hero’ with the good and bad in mind because while you deserve the recognition, I think you may feel a bit suffocated by it.

So, onto the reading. Your story starts with you feeling like the world is going against you, like they’ve shunned you out before you had any say in it. There was nothing Sihtric enjoyed more than watching you. Whether in your garden, in your shared home or simply out in the wide world. He simply watched. Marvelling at the fact you had deemed him worthy of you. Always listing to himself the things he loved the most.

Your smile, the one especially for him when he was declaring his love at the most inopportune moment. The blush that joined it, the way you would bite your lip afterwards when he continued in his praises.

Your laugh, the soft, slightly embarrassed giggle when he would pull you close and kiss you in public. Hiding your face in his neck afterwards but secretly relishing in his need to publicly show his love.

Your eyes, the look of concentration whenever you would read a book or study your tarot. The sparkle when you would see something interesting. Especially about him. He would not often ask you for a reading, saving them for when he felt like you needed it as much as he did.

But Sihtric also enjoyed the deeper, darker, stranger parts of you. The parts that might put anyone else off you, he revelled in. It rolled off him when people called him weird, unusual. They were words that would likely hurt others. But they only spurred him on, desperate to live up to the persona people painted him with. And you matched him score for score.

The way you would light up when the weather would finally turn cool, when the leaves would become shades of orange and crunch beneath your feet. When you could clothe yourself in the darkest of colours.

But even more, when you would seek out novels on the most macabre of topics. Authors who depicted nothing but death and despair. The way you would eagerly consume the darkest of topics as though nothing excited you more.

The joy you found in everything sombre and morbid, matching him perfectly. Enjoying filling your shared home with curiosities that would easily find their home in a gothic horror. All these things entwined him more to you.

Sihtric could not imagine his life without you. Your desires matched his. You brought out both his rage and his lust. You would awaken the beast within him time and time again. For better or for worse.

The way you would watch with a smile as he defended your honour. The times he would appear at your side like a shadow, the intense stare warding off any rival. He knew it excited you. Having a man like him so devoted and reverent to you.

When you would revel in his strength, his ability to bring you both pleasure and pain in perfect harmony. Letting him give in to his most primal desires whenever the mood found him, matching him in every way. The way it was as though your body was made for him. Welcoming him in a way that would take his breath away.

But also, when you would counter the rough with gentle. Soft fingers on his bare back as you laid entangled together. Soothing that fire inside as he whispered sweet nothings into your heated skin. When you would litter the softest of kisses across his skin when you could not find the words to express your own need.

These were the things Sihtric loved the most, if he was made to list them.

Sihtric was almost vibrating with sheer excitement. Your joint friends, who you had affectionately named ‘The Boys’ had helped him set everything up. And he hoped you did not suspect a thing.

Spontaneous trips out were not unusual for him. He enjoyed how your face would light up when he came to tell you he had a surprise adventure. Because they never disappointed you. Sihtric knew you inside and out, in every way imaginable. He could know what you wanted without you uttering a single word.

Sihtric and the boys had packed the car for all of you. You had not even questioned it, seeing the blankets and laden picnic basket, you knew where he was taking you. Your favourite little village. The right balance of quaint and spooky. It was only a short drive from your hometown and it was a place set solid in your memory, both with Sihtric and without.

You all loaded into the car. You and Sihtric sat together while Uhtred drove and Osferth and Finan in the next seats behind you. You could almost feel the excitement rolling off Sihtric in waves, it was infectious.

The drive was not long, as soon as you saw the sign and the trail of buildings that made you feel like you had stepped back in time. Your hand quickly tangled with Sihtric’s own as he helped you out of the car.

“Such a gentleman,” you teased, giving him that smile he loved when he pressed a kiss to your hand.

Between the four of them, the boys all carried everything from the car, shushing you every time you offered to take something. You could handle the reverence Sihtric seemed to hold for you but to have it transferred to his friends always caught you off guard.

Sihtric kept his fingers entwined with yours as you walked, making quick work of the short distance from the car to the park. He did not even argue when you began to wander. Hands reaching out to the shrub lined path. He could only marvel how at home you seemed. Where it was quiet, secluded. Nothing but you and nature.

The boys found a spot to eat, knowing better than to tear you away from any kind of plants. Sihtric gave you a few moments more, watching you pick yourself a little bunch of wildflowers before he walked over to get you.

“Come on, my little witch, you need to eat,” he whispered, wrapping his arms around your waist and easily lifting you from the ground.

You barely put up a fight when he carried you over to the others, resting your head on his shoulder instead. It was only when he reached the edge of the blanket did he dare let you leave his embrace.

There was not a moment you did not feel like royalty with Sihtric. Even now, in front of his friends. When so many men would act differently, if anything, Sihtric took his affection to the next level. Staking his claim at times without even realising.

When you sat, his arm was immediately around you. The other grabbing a paper plate and your favourite foods before you could even move. Sihtric knew it would not seem unusual, but he could not help himself. He wanted all of this to be perfect, to show you his devotion before the bigger surprise.

The meal passed with nothing but laughter and relaxation. But the longer it went on, the more you felt like there was something bigger, something that was not being talked about but that everyone knew of except you.

Sihtric stood once he knew you were done, offering his hand to pull you up. None of the boys batted an eye as the two of you walked away. Knowing his plan, and knowing it was something meant for just the two of you. Well, except Osferth…the only one trusted to take photos of what was to come.

The two of you walked a little longer, close enough for Osferth to take photos, but far enough for privacy. It was only now that Sihtric felt the nerves, those little butterflies in his stomach. The same he felt the day he met you.

The field you had picnicked in became a small grove filled with wildflowers.

Perfect, Sihtric thought.

He waited for you to wander again, unable to resist the nature around you. He could feel his hand shake as he reached inside his jacket. That small velvet box felt both heavy and light in his hands. Like his entire future was now contained in this box.

You could feel him behind you, your ever present and welcome shadow. But when you stopped hearing his footsteps crunching the grass, you turned. And the sight of him, down on one knee with the look of absolute love and devotion on his face nearly stole the breath in your lungs.

“Sihtric what are you…?”

Then you saw it, caged by his fingers but the black velvet was just visible. Your heart was pounding and you felt your hands begin to tingle with nerves.

“My little witch, my very life…there has not been a moment I have not pictured the day I would ask you this. Love is not about finding someone you can live with. It is about finding someone you cannot live without. And for me, that is you.”

You could feel the tears stinging your eyes, pure joy almost overflowing. You took shaky steps towards him, barely hearing what he said next.

“Darling, I have been straining mere lifeless words trying to express my love for you. There are hundreds of reasons I could give for loving you, for wanting to be with you for the rest of our lives and beyond. Hoping you want the same with me.”

He was ready to list them, but he knew from the shake of your hands and the tears threatening to fall that this was not the time for his long reverent speeches.

“Were you ever aware, dear heart, that the mere sight of you fills me with an indescribable joy? An ecstasy of the senses?” your voice was barely a whisper, but Sihtric’s heart swelled with every word.

You were mere inches from him as he took your hand in his, the box now open and displaying the most perfect ring you had ever seen.

“My sweetest love, will you marry me?”

Osferth was nearly in tears himself, the camera screen blurring as he snapped what photos he could. It was immediately obvious you had said yes, the way you leapt into Sihtric’s arms the moment he placed the ring on your finger was like something from a movie.

And the pictures he took? They were now pride of place on your mantel, adding to the collage Sihtric had made over the years. A testament to his devotion.

If Sihtric had to list all the things he loved about you, it would take him years. Luckily, he now had all the time in the world at your side.

Spirit Work Basics

Hello, My name is Alva Tauri! I am an herbalist, spirit worker, tarot and oracle reader, and lunar and herbal witch dedicated to closing the education gap when it comes to herbalism and witch practices!

Today I thought I would get online and compile my own personal journal entries and rituals about spirit work here for anyone interested in getting into spirit work, soest how you can begin to understand the basics behind working with spirits.

Below you will find everything you need to begin your journey...

with that being said, let's begin~

꩜ "How do I start speaking with spirits?"

The answer to this is simple: meditation and intention.

Meditation is the perfect way to open up to the spirits and say to them, "I am interested in talking to you." It also is a fantastic way to get in touch with yourself and your own energy, which can be extremely helpful when it comes to spirit work,as it can help you gauge when something has changed or shifted in energy around you.

How do you feel your own energy? This can be done in many different ways. For example, you can listen to your own heartbeat, you can listen to the calming sounds around you (water, nature, birds, etc.), or you can do visualization practices (you can find some examples in my post here).

Once you've connected with your energy, try visualizing a door opening and imagine your hand reaching out through the doorway. This is to signify to the spirit around you that you are willing to speak with them.

NOTE: You may not get a response. This does not mean you are failing or doing anything wrong. Keep trying. Sometimes spirits are simply unwilling to speak at the moment, just like we often times need a break away from people. Do not take it personally and remember to remain respectful of them in these moments.

Struggling with meditation? This is a common problem for anyone who is new to the practice, especially those of us who live with mental or physical illness. Remember this: A) meditation takes practice and practice shows dedication to the craft. having to try multiple times before grasping a concept does not mean you have failed, it means you care. B) the literal definition of meditation is "to engage in mental exercise (such as concentration on one's breathing or repetition of a mantra) for the purpose of reaching a heightened level of spiritual awareness." No where in that definition does it say you have to be sitting, with your legs cross, and your hands on your knees. You can mediate in a chair, on the couch...hell you can even meditate laying down in your bed.

Before you give up on meditation remember why you are doing it and ask yourself "have I tried every method or position that I can?" you can meditate. anyone can. I believe in you and so do the spirits!

꩜ "How do I know if spirits are attempting to communicate with me?"

Some signs are common and will make it relatively easy to tell, while others may be a bit harder to decern. Here are some of the more common signs you may hear people discuss when it comes to spirit work:

hearing voices or echoes (possibly thinking you heard someone say your name when no one is around)

hearing random knocks and bangs that seemingly came from nothing

random works or phrases popping up in your head (especially common when doing some sort of divination work with spirits)

having strange dreams or strange visions while meditating

phantom touches

experiencing the feeling of being watched

These answer may seem a bit vague and, if you think so, that is because they are, unfortunately, vague. This is where the real challenge of spirit work comes in. Your ability to decern whether or not something was a spirit or simply your house settling or you having a rough day that causes rough dreams is paramount in being a good spirit worker and is a skill that comes with time.

Having trouble learning how to decern between the two worlds? Keep practicing meditation, keep doing visualization practices, get to know your own spiritual energy, and be honest with yourself. Once you understand yourself and your environment it will be easy to decipher, but you have to give yourself time, patience, and honesty. This will help you in your journey.

꩜ "Should I use any tools? If so, what should I use?"

While ensuring your energy is in a good place and making attempts to reach out to the spirits via meditation is important, you do not have to use energies exclusively. A great way to help you better connect to spirits in spirit work is the use of tools.

Naturally, the tools I list below are not the only ones to exist. There are hundreds of great spirit work tools out there. However, I am only going to discuss the ones I have used and have experience with today. If you don't see anything below that catches your eye, feel free to do your own research to learn more about spirit works tools!

Let's talk about the tools I use:

Tarot Cards: 78 cards with different meanings you can use to ask the spirits questions and connect with them

Pendulum: a crystal tied to a sting or chain you use by swinging over a board with a variety of different text options, so that when you speak to the spirits they can swing the pendulum in the direction of the word they'd like to say.

Cartomancy: a regular deck of playing cards used to talk to the spirits

In addition to these methods that I use, you may also want to look into:

Ouija Boards

Crystal Balls

Mirror/Water Scrying

Remember, what tools work for me or your friend or someone you know online may not work for you. Find what speaks to you and test it out and, if you don't like it, it's okay to move on a try something else. You need to feel connected to your form of divination for the spirits to feel connected to you.

Remember, it's also okay to get creative, too. I have heard some people say they do divination practices with food or different elements of nature, or runes, or even music (which I usually have on while i'm working). Reach out to what calls to you, whatever that may be.

꩜ "How do I talk to the spirits once they've connected with me?"

That's easy. Just talk to them.

You can do this in a multitude of different ways. You can write letters and burn them, you can sing, you can pray, or you can just talk outloud.

Remember, different places may call for different etiquette. For example, if you are at a graveyard visiting a love one and are attempting to connect with them, you may not want to communicate in any way that is going to be loud or is going to cause harm to the grave or the grave site (take a look at my post about graveyard etiquette here for more information on that). Simply be aware of your surroundings and use common sense. Remember, if you have to question whether or not something is appropriate to do then it probably isn't.

꩜ THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND

Ward Yourself and/or Use Protection Magic Beforehand: it would be nice to believe that all spirits are friendly and have good intentions. however, that is not always the case. be safe and take care of yourself. you may even consider bringing a knife.

Carly's expression softened slightly, though she tried to hide it. Her tongue moved through her lips, making them shiny down the golden light of the lamp over their heads and her eyes narrowed.

—Will you be willing to do anything to take it back?

Jungkook exhaled, running a hand through his hair, hiding half of his face behind his tattooed hand before looking at her again.

—You know, I've had this curse present in my life since we parted ways. I was so happy about it, the only thing that scared me was it disappearing —he admitted, with a bitter smile—. And now I'm so fucking terrified of not getting rid of it.

Carly hesitated, guilt flashing in her eyes. She placed her cup down, folding her hands on the table.

—I don't think your spell is reversible.

Jungkook's heart dropped.

—What do you mean, you don't think?

—If you remember the words I used... —she trailed off, looking genuinely remorseful— I said you'd be repaid with everything you did to others. Jungkook, it wasn't a normal love curse. Jungkook stared at her, his chest tightening.

He leaned back in his seat, defeated. For a moment, the weight of everything crashed down on him. He was sure karma was out to get him, but he wasn't sure the levels of the pain he'd have to go through to overcome it.

The rest of the day didn't go any better.

Jungkook stormed into his gym, thankful it remained closed for that day and Jimin wasn't there to ask him what was wrong, his footsteps heavy with frustration. He slammed the door to his office, breathing heavily, his hands shaking with pent-up rage.

Without thinking, he started kicking everything in his path -chairs, a stack of papers, even a punching bag that was hanging just a little too close to the edge of the room. His chest heaved as his anger spilled out in the most physical way he knew how. It wasn't enough, though. None of it was enough to shake the hopelessness.

Suddenly, one particularly hard kick sent a file cabinet wobbling, and an old, thick file tumbled to the ground, scattering its contents across the floor. Jungkook paused, staring at the mess. The file folder had the date "November 2021" written in bold, faded letters. Curiosity tugged at him, pushing aside his frustration for just a moment.

He knelt down, gathering the papers into a pile, when something caught his eye -a photograph. His brow furrowed as he pulled the picture out from the pages. The image showed a familiar face. A face he had seen before, but not here. His heart stopped for a beat, and he was sure the office started turning in circles around him.

It was Y/n's brother.

His breath hitched as his eyes scanned the attached form -an application for the gym, with dates, contact details, and fight records. There, written in black and white, was everything. Y/n's brother had been a member. He was a fighter in that very gym, although he didn't manage to see him.

Jungkook's hands began to tremble as he flipped through more pages, trying to piece together the puzzle that was unfolding in front of him. Then, it hit him like a punch to the gut. The date of Y/n's brother's last fight -his final fight- was there. The same night he had been killed.

November 2021... He remembered that month he had one bad injury that kept him away from the gym. He was barely around there, he didn't even train people because he had someone else do it for him that worked there before the gym turned to be his. The only times he went to the gym were because Elijah showed up, and he knew Jimin hated to be alone with him.

The day his last fight happened, he remembered he was so out of himself that he didn't even pay attention to who was competing. Elijah wanted him there, because he was a good fighter, and Jungkook barely looked into it before he told Jimin to let him know.

When he learned the news of his accident, he got so scared that he promised he wouldn't send any other fighter if he could avoid it. And he missed every update related to it because his family was too involved in the case. He was even hopeful he managed to survive, and he wasn't part of the cursed line of the 21. Yet he was wrong.

Now everything made sense for him.

His stomach churned with nausea as realization dawned on him. Jungkook had been the one who sent him to that fight.

—Shit... —he whispered, his voice hoarse as guilt washed over him in waves.

Jungkook's entire body felt heavy, as if the weight of this discovery might crush him. Y/n didn't know. She had no idea about his role in it. How could he tell her? After everything they'd been through, after she finally started to open up to him, how could he admit that he had unknowingly led her brother to his death?

He dropped the papers, running his hands through his hair in desperation. He couldn't tell her. Not now. Not after she'd confessed she liked him. Not after they had gotten this close. He couldn't destroy everything -couldn't be the one to break her heart again.

The familiar clatter of keyboards and phones buzzing filled the newsroom, but Y/n's focus was elsewhere.

She was smiling like a fool just thinking about the way Jungkook looked so peaceful in her bed, sleeping while she was getting ready for work. It was almost as if he hadn't pumped her into her so hard that she could feel and hear the way her guts were rearranging the night before. Y/n wanted to be excited for that message, but the truth was that Alan took way too long to give her something to catch on. And last time he did, it wasn't something that actually worked for her.

Although she was planning on having breakfast with Jackie, she had to leave it for another day, as she hurriedly made her way to the door to get to the cafeteria where they always met whenever he had good information.

—Coffee first —Alan rushed her, when Y/n was about to speak before sitting in front of him.

Her eyes rolled at his petition, but she gave in. Her stomach closed just at the idea of getting back to a place that didn't have anything for her, so she just crossed her arms over her chest while she watched her source gulping down the milked coffee and giving huge bites to his donuts.

—Do you only eat when I pay for it or what? —she asked, eyebrows furrowing.

—Funny.

—I know —she ironically smiled—. Can you say what that text was about? I'm on my break, and as much as watching you eat is a show, I have to get back to work, and I'd like not to go back with the uncertainty.

—My source... —he swallowed after chewing only two times— they gave me a location that could have something.

—Last time you said the same, and I ended up in front of a Walmart.

As soon as she finished the shift, she made her way to that address, double checking the paper, the number and the place to confirm she was in the right place. Of course it was familiar, Alan already gave her that same address after she managed to attend the first boxing party.

Either Alan gave her the wrong location, or his source thought Jungkook would have new information since he's almost every weekend in those boxing parties.

The rhythmic thud of Jungkook's fists hitting the heavy bag echoed through the space, sharp and deliberate. Each punch landed with a deep, muffled whump, the sound of knuckles striking padded leather reverberating off the concrete walls. The chain above the bag rattled lightly with every impact, a metallic clink following each hit as the bag swung back and forth. Between the punches, there was only the soft squeak of his sneakers shifting on the floor, followed by the steady inhale and exhale of his breath, punctuating the otherwise quiet room. Hello~ I just wanted to check up on a request I made at the beginning of the year. I'm not sure if it got lost or you've just been busy. It was about BTS and what kind of friend they would be based on tarot?

Also, I want to praise you for your honesty and courage in continuing to speak up about the HYBE situation. I don't really follow a lot of groups and only stick to bts but I feel so bad for these girls. Btw, are you the tarot reader who did a what does bts think of the HYBE and Newjeans reading or am I mixing you with someone else? I tried to look through your tags but couldn't see it.

disclaimer: this post is based on my own experiences and observation, the main point of this post is to teach other's on ‘‘how to read properly in an easy way’’. i don't intend to hurt anyone feelings with my post rather let me know about if there's something disturbing or uncomfortable about it.

before going in a depth explaination of this post, you need to know first how tarot cards works.

tarot is working on our energy for ourselves, past, present and future ones - it's not gonna show you the detailed reading but it's a peak or highlights of the situations you'd asks from the tarot decks especially if the reading is general. if you were gonna asked me, this seems like an instrument or a friend to rely on asking for advices about what we are gonna do on our lives. tarot is like life full of mysteries, purpose, passion, magic and miracles to uncover - if you believe, it will happen while if you don't believe, it won't happen. it's easy, you don't need to make it hard. in the end of the day, they're just an instrument and we are still the handler of our lives and fates. but after all of this, you need to know and learn first how every tarot cards means and being interpreted.

what does ‘‘take what resonates and leave when it doesn't?’’ actually mean?

you probably sees this line most of the time in every general reading. let me tell you something. resonates with me means and it explains that you have experienced it in such a heartfelt and personal way that you can relate with that reading and those parts that seems inaccurate you may need to throw them away or set them aside first because maybe it's not yet the right time for them to uncover the truth, if that's happens you may need to wait for few days, weeks, months or few years to know the results of the reading itself but sometimes in a reading you might take nothing at all and that's okay. that doesn't applied and mean that the reader (tarot reader) is wrong (unless they're fake and pretenders) because they're just working on energies most of the time, it's not your fault either.

can you learn tarot in a week or a day?

yes, if the eagerness is there - you can! but for me, i bought 3 sets of tarot decks with different perspective of meanings and i realized each deck's has their own meanings and interpretation. this is based on their illustrations and colors. i started practicing and learning tarot since august, last year (yup, pretty new). but the desire of learning tarot by myself is always there so i start practicing and memorizing each one of them from major arcana down to minor arcana cards for 8 months that had past. just an advice for you to don't messed up on how to learn their meanings make a notes about them this will include your own interpretation, intuition, the cards meaning from the guide book, feelings (what do you feel when you read), combination (what's next or before to one card from another) and observation : look at the spread carefully, each pictures and see what's this spread and each cards speaks to you like a conclusion.

i. the decks i can suggest if you are pretty new and wanted to learn tarot

a. tarot-waite raider - this deck can be used in every situation and questions, let say a general and all rounder deck.

b. the antique anatomy tarot - love this deck, the box has a mesmerizing outlook. the book (guideline) is insightful with great and clear instructions of the zodiac signs, colors, illustrations and numbers.

c. light seer's tarot - love this deck a lot, the colorful aura and drawing of each cards makes me feel excited when i do reading for my family and for few of my friends, of course. love how the cards giving off the ‘‘blithe’’ energy although i didn't follow much it's meaning, i like using it.

why is it important to know the difference between major arcana and minor arcana?

there's a lot of variation of it's description about what is difference between major vs minor arcana means, to make is short - i will explain them in nutshell. major arcana have 22 cards including 0-22 numerical roman numbers while minor arcana have wands, cups, swords and pentacles and it counted from 1-10's including the court cards which are the kings, queens, knights and knaves (page). major arcana can talks and indicates about bigger human experience while the minor is a daily-basis experience of a person.

how accurate is tarot card reading?

accurate as ever. it may not be happening to you now but timing makes it perfect. it will happen like the cards speaks to you. it's always did. especially i booked with these 2 tarot readers from an online shop before and they're actually accurate which makes me shiver. it's the feeling of expect the unexpected. the feeling you are in between of knowing and being in knows. but as i observe, if you read it in a wrong way you definitely get a different and inexact answers but despite all of that you're question must be in the right form and construction of words too so you can get an accurate answers. because sometimes you may need to look if they're in a correct way for example - ‘‘what to do with this situation?’’ like what kind and if ever with whom, it's better if you'd ask ‘‘what i can do with my (current,be specific) situation?’’ or ‘‘what will happen about this situationship with this (your person's name)’’ this only applicable if you do this by yourself. but that's okay, if you don't read it by yourself and rely it to other readers because tarot is also about predicting especially if you come at them in an open reading : a form of reading where you don't ask a specific question but they able to give you the answers you were searching for. but after all, that's all of my observation and i'm not calling out anyone here, so no bashing. remember you can correct someone in a proper way forms of words without actually hurting them.

I dont know if was about this time that they decided to give to archie and lilibeth the prince and princess title.(I'm not sure about the dates). So, my question about this last trip to Colombia is ¿H&M changed the the dates because something is going on and they are going to loose something during the month of October or November? my question goes because the VP announce Harry and Meghan where going to Colombia on November, not August. And I don't know if the change was because something else is happening, or a decision is going to take place during that time… The where so lucky to be in the Petronio Festival, I'm sure they didn't know about that festival in Cali (which is going to be perfect to use their PR as they please)

So first (and most important), don’t ever apologize for your English! Your English is wonderful! Everyone who speaks/learns English as a second language speaks English wonderfully! It is most impressive that anyone has any grasp of English as a second language because of how f**ked up English spelling and grammar can be. I might offer corrections from time to time (like the whole Colombia/Columbia mixup) but that’s only because I want to do my little part to help anyone learn who wants to learn. To put it simply, Archie and Lili have prince/princess titles by their birthright as grandchildren of a future monarch, but they didn’t get the titles or became eligible to use them until their grandfather actually became the reigning monarch. So Archie and Lili became prince and princess automatically on September 8, 2022 when Queen Elizabeth died and Charles became King. They just weren’t acknowledged by the BRF as Prince/Princess until March 2023, after Meghan told People Magazine that the kids had Royal titles.

(There’s a rumor that it took so long to confirm the kids had the titles because the Sussexes wanted the BF to announce it but they refused to so the Sussexes did it themselves in a story they gave to People Magazine about Lili finally being christened, which forced the BRF to acknowledge the titles.)

If you go back and look at the VP’s announcement, she doesn’t actually say that they will be visiting in November. What she actually says is that the Sussexes’ visit would be sometime before this conference being held. We assumed that meant they would travel in November, even though the Sussexes themselves said they would be traveling “later this summer,” which was understood to mean either August or September (summer in the northern hemisphere where they/most of their audience live).

Was that intentional? Did something change? I don’t really know.

But there is a new rumor that Meghan already has plans for something happening at the end of October and didn’t want to travel so closely in November to overshadow whatever this October thing is. Some of the gossip is saying that she might finally launch ARO then or she might have a magazine photoshoot to take Archie and Lili trick-or-treating, but there’s also gossip that she plans to be available to campaign in the presidential election as that is the last week/weekend before the election.

And I don't know if the change was because something else is happening, or a decision is going to take place during that time…

It’s just gossip for now, but there are several tarot readers and astrologists seeing a big decision involving an ending that takes place in October/November for the Sussexes, according to their charts and cards. Speculation (based on interpretation of their tarot cards) is divorce or the BRF taking titles or more excluded/exiled.

Again, it’s just gossip based on tarot and astrology, which is always subjective as everyone reads and interprets differently.

But the interesting thing about this is that since we know Diana was big into tarot readers and saw several/had her own. Because of that, and because we know the Sussexes likes to model themselves on Diana, it would not be unreasonable to think that they have their own tarot readers/astrologists to guide them and if they do have their own tarot readers or astrologists, it’s very possible they also see something happening to them in October/November and they rescheduled the Colombia visit for earlier to avoid whatever they think might be happening.

I don’t think anyone in the US not of Colombia descent or from a Colombian community even knows what the Petronio Festival is. The only festivals that most Americans know (generally speaking) is Edinburgh Fringe, Glastonbury, Coachella, and Bonnaroo. Chronically online folks also probably know about the Fyre Festival. But Petronio? No idea and not anywhere close to our radar.

Which is unfortunate, because it sounds fantastic. Harry and Meghan could have done great work raising awareness of the festival and engaging more with participants but instead they just…randomly appeared with a children’s choir and Meghan wore a ball gown?

But yes, I agree with you on your last point - we’re going to see them promote the heck out of going to the festival and they may even try to leverage it for other travel. After all, they’re festival-going “royals” who love meeting and mixing with the local people, instead of the uppity hoity toity real royals who segregate themselves from the locals by chain-link fences.
