Just about to finish dghda S1 from off my dvd like the freak I am and I am now considering getting the flix again to watch s2
#i love numbers and data (/srs this was very interesting)#makes me feel a little better about watching it officially but also wow I feel really bad for screenwriters#and other crew and cast of media#this does make me reexamine somewhat some of the ways I think#but#it doesn’t change my stance on pirating because in a capitalistic world the one way to make anything change#is to target the pockets of people and companies who are harming others#and a lot of people can't afford to have so many streaming services anyway#however I do agree that in this circumstance it doesn't really make a difference because#(a) for it to matter a lot of people would have to be involved#(b) the show is 8 years old and not really relevant to max or his money anymore#(c) it affects the other cast and crew who deserve to be paid for it#but max landis is a nepo baby with $6M net worth so he is a perfect example of someone who benefits a lot from capitalism#and he shouldn't be allowed to work around others because that actively puts them in danger#everyone deserves fair wages but max uses the space and power he is given from his workplace to exploit and hurt others#do i think he would still be doing that if he wasn't famous (micro famous?) or a nepo baby?#unfortunately yes#but he does have a lot more power because of being a famous/nepo baby screenwriter and director that puts him in a position to easily#exploit people without them being able to do much about it#anyway none of this is a bash at what you said or your personal opinions#i know you weren't endorsing him in any way I just needed to rant about hatimg capitalism and max landis#idk what he even does anymore and he has the right to make whatever he wants and get the money from it#but people also have the right to boycott it and call him out on his actions and expose the things he's done because at the end of the day#he's not some slightly problematic screenwriter living off of minimum wage and fighting to keep a place in the industry#he's the serial rapist rich son of a rich guy who uses his money to exploit and hurt people
