i'm just remembering that when lucy was introduced, there was so much faux progressive outrage about how the show KEEPS introducing WHITE characters and generally a lot of misogny hiding behind the qualifier of lucy being white...i wonder how many of those same people are clamoring for tommy to become a regular lmao
đ¤Łđ¤Łđ¤Ł people are so unserious about this stuff
#asks#i just....... there is no room for tommy in the narrative beyond being buck's man#he doesn't work at the 118 and it wouldn't make sense for him to come back. we already have one of him (eddie. it's eddie)#what exactly would he be adding to the dynamic. at least with ravi it's like. you can see where he fits in. he should be a series regular#i'm so biased but also bored by this whole concept LMAO can we please just let tommy be. let him fly.#defending and disparaging tommy at the same time i contain multitudes.#and it was just pointed out to me that in ep 3 he had way more of a personality and was actually interesting. and it was while filming that#episode that they decided to give buck the bi arc. and now in 4-5 where is that personality. i just think it's funny

Why do you insist on infantilizating the characters who were victims of Tommy, who have clearly forgiven and embraced him? Do you think you know better than them? You act as though every Tommy fan is a damn nazi while ignoring the actual POV of the characters of color affected by his actions.
Btw there are absolutely context clues given in the early eps that Tommy could be queer.
Stop acting like you speak for anyone but yourself. There have been a lot of posts by black, queer men, that are pro-Tevan that you seem happy to ignore. If you think Tommy is a racist, unforgivable character, fine. But you can't stop acting like you somehow staked a claim to some moral high ground here when the reality is you wouldn't care at all if he didn't threaten your ship.
oh look guys i pissed them off again by calling them out on their bullshit :) itâs been a while i was wondering when youâd show your (anonymous bc you know people would call you on your shit if you werenât) faces here
i have never called you people ânaziâsâ and think itâs vile that you view being called out on the constant defense of this blatantly racist character as an equivalent to being called a nazi
itâs disgusting behavior to say âoh you think im a nazi if you disagree with meâ when youâre being called out and i cannot believe you had the absolute gall to say something like that on my blog
you are not a victim. this is the victim mentality i was talking about.
you say im only threatening by him bc he âthreatens my shipâ meanwhile the show has not treated him as a serious LI, and has actually taken more time to ignore him/parallel him to buckâs previous failed LIâs than setting him up as a serious contender for edngame w buck. youâre the ones (rightfully) threatened by eddie because he actually had plot armor and has a character thatâs not a bunch of stolen headcanons that youâve all placed on him
you guys love to call it infantilizing poc characters when we, yknow, fairly call out negative behavior but then you get so upset when people make valid criticisms of his character because you know his personality and character have no actual stability within the plot because he has not been developed beyond being racist and being gay
itâs funny that you ignore henâs standoffish at best attitude towards him simply because you know that if hen was blatantly against him, you would have no leg to stand on because theyâre never going to treat him as more important than hen
idk how what âcontext cluesâ youâre talking about in early eps regarding tommy being gay, but even if there were, that doesnât excuse his actions. there has been no narrative development past his early episodes portrayal aside from them slapping a rainbow on him so they had someone to get buck out of the closet
i can direct you to countless people who agree with me on this, so i am not speaking for myself unlike most tommy cultists bc you all just woul rather take lukewarm queer rep when itâs a white racist man than the potentially groundbreaking queer story that can be told
sorry but that doesnât give me positive vibes
you people love to bash main poc characters for their flaws and storylines when they actually take the time to tell these stories and provide context, yet when tommy is racist and misogynistic to hen and chimney, you all suddenly find it fine to forgive him the moment he kissed buck
i donât claim to be on some âmoral high groundâ but you people have no room to claim that either when your fandom are out here spreading nothing but anonymous hate to people who call you out on your bullshit, while you also harrass the cast and crew for not giving your favorite racist a spotlight.
i fear you donât have any stake to claim on whether or not someone is or isnât âmorally superiorâ
do me a favor and block me so i donât have to lose braincells trying to process the bullshit that comes put of your brain while trying to defend a racist man

Omg this episode was so much fun. Like I am absolutely loving this seasons 3 part premiere in comparison to last seasons. Itâs fun. The dramatic. Itâs ao3 crack fic come to life in parts đđ. The feelings are there. It truly feels like the days of old 911.
And I have to say. I know people were upset about some of the writers being gone and replaced with new ones but. Change can be good. Itâs like a breath of fresh air has been given to the writers room now. And with the writing weâve gotten for the first two episode? I am actually hopeful about Eddie getting the queer story arc he deserves. Iâve always been worried about the writing not being great for it and then seeing what became of bucks last season (forever so sorry Oliver itâs not you, you did your best with what you had đđ) my fears grew even more. But as of now I really think itâs gonna be handled correctly for Eddie and for buddie. And I love that for us.
Now. Quick little petty moment of the night. Weâve all seen the âT is gonna save the day. T is gonna land the plane. T is gonna save Athena and sheâll be forever grateful.â That has been going around the last week or two.
Well as we now see that was in fact NOT the case.
If anything this should be a lesson for everyone just how little that man means to the over all story/show and how little investment they have in him beyond his role as the plot device for buddie.
Because this would have admittedly been a good place to insert him. And yet they did not. He wasnât even in the episode. And they took it one step further and created an entire new character to help Athena with landing the plane. A literal child at that. They literally cannot be any more clear in what that manâs role actually is.
It really was lot of fun, I agree. but I have to admit that I loooooved the cruise disaster a lot. Not so much the pirate part, but the sinking part. Definitely one of my favourite disasters on 911.
This was a great episode. I feel like the new writers have found a way to capture that essence of 911 that we kind of lost over the last couple of seasons. They reached back to the 911 of old, back in season two and three and managed to create something that really has the same vibe to it. Does that make sense?
So yeah, I'm happy with the new people that have come aboard our show. I'm also very positive they'll be able to do Eddie's storyline justice.
As for Tommy... He was never going to be involved in the first place.đ¤ˇââď¸ There was no viable reason for him to be there. This is a mid-air airplance disaster. What could Tommy possibly have done here? He doesn't know how to fly a commercial jet like this. He would have been as useless as the rest of the 118 in a situation like this. Was he going to magically land his helicopter on an airplane in mid-flight? It never made any sense for him to be there.
Furthermore, the man is linked to Buck's romantic plot. He is there to fulfill a purpose in Buck's narrative. He isn't linked to any of the other plots in 911. This episode was about an airplane disaster and Athena doing her thing. There was no romantic sub-plot whatsoever. So there was no need for Tommy to appear.
And this isn't me being petty or anything like that. I'm just stating facts and going off on what the show has been telling us since 7x04. You know?
