Okay, so I’m going to focus on a specific part of arcane season 2 that just frustrates me so much, which is how Vi was handled this season.

SPECIFICALLY PIT-FIGHTER VI

Through the trailers, pit-fighter Vi seemed like it was going to be a very big deal and explore a lot about her, and why she is now at the lowest she’s ever been. Like, as much as it’s funny to joke that Cait breaking up with her lead to this, it’s the years of tragedies and trauma in her life that actually lead her there, Cait betraying her was just the cherry on top. (the loss of her entire family, her years in prison, her feeling like she failed at her one job, being a protecter, to name some things)

I thought we were going to get a completely Vi-centered episode where she’s a drunken pit-fighter. Where we just spend time with her, we get to see her try and work through her trauma and get to know her as a character more.

But NOOOOOO. The pit-fighter arc for Vi lasts basically two minutes (of just montages of fights) and is over before we can even process what it means for Vi as a character.

It’s not even just that the arc is unfulfilling, it literally doesn’t matter at all!!! It’s not ever really an arc!!! Which sucks so much!!! Especially because it was implied that it would be a huge part of her story, and just…wasn’t.

Gosh, I have more to say but I’ll stop for now. (Like Cait and Vi’s relationship…wtf happened)

Hiii Tumblr I haven’t posted in forever hahaha

Anyways, I will be posting more now, but here’s a long rant of sorts.

I’ve been actively keeping up with a lot of new shows lately, (a first for me since I usually get overwhelmed) and one of those shows is Hazbin Hotel. I really love the show so far, the songs, the characters, and the animation is amazing. Don’t get me wrong, the show has its flaws, but so does every show.

However on thing that greatly greatly frustrates me is the fact that I feel like I’ve barely spend any time with the characters and we are already at the climax. I really wish we got filler episodes, and just fun goofy stuff that didn’t exactly have big plot moments but we learned more about the characters. It also would have been cool to have hints of big plot moments sprinkled in these episodes, clues for us to try and figure out.

It’s been basically six months in the shows timeline and for us it’s been a little over two weeks. I know a show’s timeline will often move faster than ours, BUT TWO WEEKS TO THEIR SIX MONTH WHAT

I am in no way blaming the cast, the crew, and anyone who worked on the show, it’s clear that there is so so much love being put into this project. That actually makes me more upset because I know they would’ve loved to do more episodes!

I wish streaming services would give shows like Hazbin more time. I know they want to see if a show can "prove itself" and don't want to waste money, but come on. Eight twenty minute episodes.

Lord, I'm just frustrated.
